Provided By Suzanne
Sonny: Yeah, so after my mom's visit, and then selling the club, I just felt like it was the right time to come back to Salem. But, I, you know, mainly I came back because of what happened with my uncle Vic and Maggie. You know, I need to be here for them.
Paul: Right, of course.
Sonny: You know.
Sonny: And I did make a lot of friends in Paris, you know? That was cool. It's an awesome city, but Salem's my home, and this is where my-- my friends are and my family. [Sighs] I--I'm so sorry. I just keep talking about myself
Paul: No, no, hey, you-- I mean, you're the one who's been away, and I want to hear all about it. Paris and your life there. Well, it's just, uh-- well, if I seem a little quiet, it's because having you back is just a bit surreal. I can't quite believe it.
Sonny: Yeah. Um, I feel really bad that I-- I didn't stay in touch while I was gone.
Paul: No, don't even go there. I mean-- after losing will the way you did, it was probably for the best that you take a break from Salem for a while.
Sonny: Yeah, 'cause there really isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about him. I miss him so much, and I can't help but regret everything that happened between will and I before I left town.
Paul: Seeing me again. That, uh-- I'm guessing that probably brings up a lot of those regrets.
Victor: I'm sorry, Maggie. I know you would have preferred a different outcome, but seems pretty irrefutable now that summer did kidnap Tate. Before she skipped town, she left a note for Brady and Theresa, directing them to another room in the hotel. He found one of Tate's toys in there, which sort of proves that's where he was held.
Maggie: I just can't believe it. Oh, Victor, why didn't I try to stop summer when she was leaving town last night?
Victor: You just wanted to think the best of the woman, there's nothing to be ashamed of there. She didn't, by any chance, tell you where she was heading, did she?
Maggie: [Sighs] No. Oh, God, I handled things so-- I don't know. If I had handled them so differently. If I had only known, if I had only-- Victor.
Victor: What is it?
Maggie: Okay, this may be a long shot, but I think I may know how to help Theresa and Brady find their little boy.
Caroline: Come and have a cup of tea.
Theresa: No, Grandma, I really--I can't.
Caroline: What? Listen here. You don't take care of yourself, you're not gonna be good for anybody, including Tate. And when Tate gets home, he wants to see his mother's healthy and strong. Okay?
Theresa: Thank you.
Caroline: For what?
Theresa: For saying when, and not if.
Caroline: It's okay, dear.
Theresa: Oh, Grandma, I just--I haven't slept through the night in a long time. You know, my mind just keeps racing. I can't figure out how this happened, I--
Caroline: Let me just get a cup of tea.
Theresa: No, please. Please just stay with me. Okay?
Theresa: Maybe we can sit.
Theresa: [Chuckles] You know, if I-- if summer hadn't escaped, I could have forced her to tell me who she gave Tate to. It's just one dead end after another, Grandma. [Sighs] I mean, so, big deal. We know where the kidnapper was staying, but it hasn't brought us any closer to Tate. I just-- [Sighs] You know, he's been gone for so long now. Mm, I'm really... starting to believe that I'm never going to see my baby again.
Caroline: Oh, no. No.
John: Thanks for meeting with us.
I'm sorry it couldn't be sooner. I was off yesterday. Didn't get your message till late last night.
John: That's okay.
Brady: Oh, we understand. We actually already spoke to your manager, and he confirmed that the woman checked into room 1019. Her name was Clara Schumann.
Yes, that's correct.
Brady: Only now we know that that is not her real name. She used an alias.
John: And we've swept this room for prints. We've come up empty, so anything you can remember.
I'm not sure how much this will help, but I do recall the woman had a British accent.
John: All right, all right. And what is your guess in terms of age?
I'd say middle aged.
Brady: [Sighs] Any other distinguishing feature she may have had that you recall?
She had light brown hair. Long. And there was one other thing I noticed that was sort of strange.
John: Yeah, what's that?
She checked out just a few hours after checking in.
Brady: When she left, did she have a baby?
Yes. In fact she did.
Maggie: Victor, what if we ask Caroline to see if she can trigger some of those visions that she was having. And I know it sounds crazy and desperate, but we've tried everything else. And maybe she could give us an idea as to Tate's whereabouts.
Victor: You're right, it is crazy and desperate. Besides, Caroline told me that she hasn't had any visions since the night of my heart attack. Whatever effect the topits serum had on her obviously's worn off.
Maggie: Well, I mean I know we can't force her into seeing into the future, but I mean, this is Caroline's great-grandson. So maybe with a certain amount of prompting.
Victor: Oh, out of the question.
Victor: If it were promising, if I thought there was the slightest chance that it would help find Tate, but I don't. Besides, Caroline's still very fragile. Don't want her overexerting herself, trying to tap in a gift that she no longer has.
Victor: Huh, Justin. Hopefully it's about Tate. I'll take it in the other room.
Caroline: Don't give up. Don't give up.
Theresa: You're right. You're right. And I haven't, I swear. I'm sorry, Grandma. It's just a temporary lapse of judgment.
Caroline: Well, it's understandable after what you've been through, but I know my granddaughter's a fighter.
Caroline: Yes, you are. And she's not gonna give up until little Tate's back in her arms.
[Cell phone rings]
Theresa: That's okay.
Maggie: Caroline, it's Maggie, um, I need to see you as soon as possible. It's about Tate. Is this the baby that the woman left the hotel with?
I can't be sure. I wasn't paying much attention to the kid, truth be known.
Brady: Well, the kid is my son, and forgive me, but wouldn't you find it curious that if a woman checks in without a baby, isn't it strange that she checks out with a baby?
John: Brady, Brady, I'm sure that if he remembers anything more that can help the investigation, you'll contact us, right?
John: Thank you.
Brady: I'm sorry, I just-- it's my son, and his life could be at stake, so anything you could--
I understand that. And I wish you luck.
Brady: Thank you.
John: Thanks, man.
Brady: There's nothing like alienating a possible witness.
John: You're living a parent's worst nightmare, son. But you hang in there, 'cause we're on the right track, I can feel it.
Marlena: You get that back on there, you can do that.
Gabi: [Laughs] Hi, juice box. Here you go.
Marlena: Boy, she looks so much like will at this age, oh.
Gabi: Yeah, she has his smile.
Marlena: You know, there's so many times when I pick up the phone and start to call will to share an article that I've read, or talk about a movie I've seen.
Gabi: I actually always talk to Arianna about will. I mean it really, really breaks my heart that she won't have any real memories, so I always-- I try and tell her. I'm just really happy Sonny's back. You know, she'll have one of her daddies.
Marlena: Oh, I didn't know that Sonny was back.
Gabi: Yeah, yeah. He sold the club in Paris, and decided to come home. And he's actually gonna swing by and pick up Arianna later. What are you thinking?
Marlena: Oh, I was, uh, I was wondering if Paul knows that Sonny's back.
Sonny: We talked about this before I left, many times. The problems will and I had, you weren't to blame.
Paul: I appreciate you saying that, but I know that my being here in Salem definitely complicated things for you. And-- [Sighs] I completely understand if you resented me for it. Look, if you and will had been able to work things out--
Sonny: No, stop, stop. First of all, I don't resent you. Second of all, if we're gonna play this what if game, it's just gonna be a waste of time for both of us. If you think that's why I didn't call you, you're wrong. I just--I felt it would be easier to grieve if I could disconnect myself from Salem as much as possible. And that's the truth.
Paul: I understand it. You're home now, though. To stay, right?
Paul: [Laughs] Wow. Well, I have to admit I'm surprised. I never thought that you were gonna come back. I heard that you carved out quite a life for yourself in Paris.
Sonny: Well, uh, yeah. I, you know-- wasn't as great as I led everyone to believe. Salem is my home. It's where my family is. My friends.
Sonny: Yeah, yeah, yeah. So-- by the way, I heard that you and john have gotten closer, right? You're, like, working together, or something?
Paul: Yeah, yeah. Yeah, it's been really cool. We, uh-- well I'm learning the pi ropes from the master. [Laughs]
Paul: Yeah, I'm just sorry that my first case that I'm working on is with Tate's kidnapping.
Sonny: No, I heard that. It's awful. I'm sure with you two working together, in no time they'll find him.
Paul: Well, let's hope.
Sonny: Yeah. And you're working a lot of hours? Keeping busy?
Paul: Yeah, yeah, it's been pretty intense.
Sonny: Yeah, so I'm guessing you don't really have much time for a social life.
Paul: Are you asking me if I'm dating anyone, Sonny?
Sonny: I'm just curious. You know, seeing if anything worked out between you and derrick.
Paul: [Laughs] No, no. I've been, uh-- I've been flying solo. I mean, a date here and there, but nothing serious. What about you?
Sonny: Me? No. Sometimes I think I'll never be ready for a relationship again.
Victor: It's a terrible idea. It's an utter waste of time.
Maggie: Nothing is a waste of time if it brings Tate back home to us.
Victor: Oh, what's next? We gonna be burning sage? Hiring the long island medium?
Caroline: Well Maggie is right, Victor. I mean, if I can be of help, I certainly want to. I admit that my visions haven't come for months.
Theresa: Yeah, but I mean, it's worth a shot. Right? I mean, it's been dead ends from here, I mean, it's been-- so how do I trigger these visions, Grandma?
Caroline: Well sometimes they happen when I have an object that belonged to the person.
Theresa: Okay, um, just, uh, see, I have-- [Sighs] How about this?
Theresa: Tate's little pacifier. Anything?
Caroline: Not yet.
Maggie: Well maybe it would help if we went back to the spot where Tate was kidnapped. Or better yet, to the hotel room where he was being held.
Theresa: Yeah, yeah. That's a great idea. Okay. Yeah. Thanks, Maggie.
Paul: So now that the club is sold to Eduardo Hernandez, what do you plan to do for work?
Sonny: Right now I just intend to focus on helping my family any way that I can. Like I said, I mean, that's the main reason I came back.
Paul: Yeah, I understand.
Sonny: Everything is in turmoil. Aside from what Brady's going through with his son missing. Got the return of my uncle Deimos. He's making life for my uncle Vic a living hell. Said he wants to make peace. I don't trust him. I don't like him. I'll do anything, anything, to protect my uncle vic.
[Cell phone vibrates]
Paul: Sorry, I just got a text.
Paul: Dad wants me back at the office. Uh, I'm sorry, I have to cut this short. Maybe lunch another time?
Sonny: Of course, yeah.
Paul: Awesome. And hey, Sonny, just want you to know, I'm really glad that you're back.
Sonny: Thank you. I'll see you around.
Marlena: I love spending time with both of you. With all three of you.
Marlena: And as great as it's been, I'm afraid I've got to get back to work.
Gabi: Oh, I understand. I understand. Arianna and I are just very happy that you could come by. Right, sugar?
Marlena: Oh, that reminds me. Um, I have to ask you a favor.
Gabi: Of course.
Marlena: Well, brace yourself. John and I are getting married again.
Gabi: Oh, Marlena, I'm so happy to hear that. Best wishes to you.
Marlena: Oh, thank you, thank you. And, um, well we haven't made a lot of the plans yet, but we do know one thing for sure. We would just love to have Arianna as our flower girl.
Gabi: Oh, Ari. I'm sure she would love that. And her proud mama would too, absolutely. When is the date?
Marlena: I don't know, exactly. We haven't made actual plans yet. We wanna get Tate home first,
Caroline: Oh, no, nothing. Nothing, I'm so sorry, I--
Theresa: No, yeah--
Caroline: Waste of time.
Victor: Well, you tried now you've exhausted yourself.
Victor: Time to go and get some rest.
Theresa: Victor's right. Come on, Grandma, you're tired.
Theresa: Grandma? Are you all right?
Caroline: I just feel a little light headed, you know? That happens sometimes before I have a vision. It's something to do with the phone.
Victor: [Garbled dialogue]
Brady: Caroline, have you had one of your visions? Caroline, please, if you did please, will you tell us what you saw.
Gabi: You have no idea how happy I am you're home.
Sonny: Feels so good to be home.
Sonny: [Smooches] And boy have I missed you, my little angel. You know, I loved our video chats, but there is nothing like holding you in my arms.
Sonny: And I suppose it's nice to see your mommy, too.
Gabi: Oh, shut it.
Sonny: You know, you look great.
Gabi: Thank you, I-- yeah, I supposed things have been going really well for me lately. I'm feeling pretty lucky, actually.
Sonny: Ah, okay, okay. Who is he? Someone I know?
Gabi: Yeah. Yeah, this is someone you know. I've been seeing JJ.
Sonny: My cousin.
Gabi: Yeah. [Laughs]
Sonny: That's--that's-- you know-- both: Weird.
Both: It's weird.
Gabi: It's, uh, it took me by surprise too, but honestly, he's a really great guy. And he's been amazing with Arianna and me, so I'm happy.
Sonny: I'm happy you're happy.
Sonny: And I heard JJ's really stepped it up.
Sonny: Became a real asset to the Salem pd. That's great.
Gabi: Yeah, he has. He's very committed to what he does. But, um, I don't know. I kinda worry about him, Sonny. I just-- everything that's happened with Abigail's disappearance-- he's obsessed with trying to find her. He just-- I haven't seen him often, and he doesn't rest, and I'm just--I get it, I understand that's his sister. It's really sad, it's horrible. I--I just can't understand how she could just leave Chad and the baby like that.
Sonny: I really just-- I can't wrap my brain around everything that happened to her while I was gone.
Gabi: Yeah, neither can I. Neither can I.
Gabi: But, uh, you haven't-- you're close with your cousin, right?
Sonny: Yeah, yeah. Of course.
Gabi: She hasn't reached out or anything? You have no clue where she might be, right?
Sonny: No, honest to God, I haven't heard anything. Not a word. Noth--I would have told someone.
Sonny: That's, you know, I wouldn't keep that to myself.
Gabi: Yeah, of course you would have, I--I don't-- I'm sorry I even asked that. I'm sorry.
Sonny: It's okay. Like you said, it's really sad.
Gabi: Yeah. Yeah, but on a lighter note, you know, since, it's a happy occasion that you're back here. I've spilled the beans about my love life, how about you tell me.
Sonny: Wha--I mean-- my love life is pretty non-existent, to be honest with you.
Sonny: Yeah, I didn't even date the whole time I was in Paris.
Gabi: Okay, fine. But now you're back in Salem.
Gabi: It's a fresh start.
Gabi: And you do have a lot of history with Paul, right? Think maybe you might rekindle that? I'm just saying, I'm throwing it out there.
Paul: Hey, dad. Any news?
John: Actually, son, I got some news, and finally it's some good news. Brady and I, we met with the hotel clerk. We've got a substantial lead on Tate's kidnapper. I'm waiting to hear back from some contacts right now.
Paul: That's great.
John: Yeah, listen, I may have to go out of town for a couple days.
Paul: Okay, you want me to go with you or--
John: Hell no, you're gonna stay here and run the agency, man.
Paul: You trust me enough to do that.
John: Son, you got great instincts, you are such an asset here. I'm so proud of you.
Paul: Thanks, Dad. That means a lot.
John: Ah, bingo.
Caroline: I'm sorry. I didn't see anything that would help find little Tate. I mean, it just wasted all your time, I--
Theresa: No, no, Grandma.
Caroline: No, I-- [Stammers]
Theresa: You didn't waste our time.
Brady: You did not waste our time, you did your best, and we, um, we're grateful. But you have to be exhausted. You should get home. Get some rest.
Victor: Couldn't agree more.
John: Got a solid lead.
Brady: Tell me. What? What?
John: Listen, I complied a list of all the single women who left Salem with a baby during a given time frame. Now I've tracked down all but three. One of them is spot-on the clerk's description. Name's Lauren Cartwright, she just flew to Indianapolis.
Theresa: [Sighs] Oh, my God, you're finally getting a lead.
Brady: That's great.
John: The ISA are checking on the other two, but the three of us, we've got a flight to Indy within two hours time.
Brady: Yes, dad, great. Thank you, thank you.
Theresa: I'll run home and I'll go pack.
Brady: I'm gonna help you. Come on.
John: That's good.
Brady: Come on, let's go.
Theresa: Thank you so much. Okay.
Theresa: I had that dream again --
Paul: Well, good luck in Indianapolis, Dad.
John: Yeah, I'll keep you updated. Uh, in the meantime, I want you to keep checking into this connection between Deimos Kiriakis and Giorgios Papadopoulos and the Chopin group. I have a bad feeling about this guy.
Paul: Yeah, well Sonny doesn't trust him either.
John: Sonny? Thought you hadn't talked to him since he left for Paris.
Paul: Yeah, well, Sonny moved back. He's home for good. I saw him earlier today.
John: Oh, well, that's gotta make his parents feel good, huh?
Paul: Yeah, yeah, I'm sure.
John: Yeah, but what do you-- how do you feel about him coming back?
Paul: Well I'm glad he's home, you know, it's where his family is. It's where he belongs. But I moved on, you know. I'm, uh, I'm not looking for anything. Besides, Sonny isn't ready for a relationship anyway.
John: Yeah. 'Cause of will?
John: Well, I mean, um, maybe that's, um, maybe that's for the best. I mean, the two of you, your relationship got a little... little complicated, you know, I just-- I don't want to see you get hurt, kid.
Paul: [Chuckles] Well I promise you, dad, it's not gonna happen again.
Sonny: Rekindle my relationship with Paul. I think you're watching too many movies on TCM or something.
Gabi: Well, I mean, there were some unresolved feelings there when you left. So it just seems natural that you might think about you know, giving that relationship another chance.
Sonny: Gabi, I'm not over will.
Gabi: I understand that. I get it. But Sonny, listen. Will wouldn't want you to grieve forever, okay? He'd want you to find happiness. And Paul's a really great guy. I don't know if you know, but we hit it off when we were modeling together.
Sonny: Yeah, yeah, he's great. You don't have to convince me.
Sonny: But like I told him earlier, I'm just--I'm here to focus on helping my family.
Gabi: Oh, wait. So you already saw him?
Sonny: We caught up. We caught up for a little bit.
Gabi: Okay, all right.
Sonny: We caught up.
Gabi: And how did that go?
Sonny: It was nice, but on a friendship level. Purely a friendship level.
Gabi: Got it. Friendship.
John: Excuse me. Hey, Maggie.
John: Would you mind coming to my office? I have a few more questions about your last encounter with summer. It'll only take a minute.
Maggie: No, I don't mind. Anything I can do to help.
John: Okay, great.
Maggie: Oh, thank you, john.
John: Excuse me, all.
Victor: Why are you looking at me that way?
Caroline: Because I lied. Because-- when I picked up this hotel phone, I saw you taking a call.
Victor: What was it about?
Caroline: Well I couldn't hear the conversation, but the conversation was intense.
Victor: Well I hope it doesn't mean we're gonna have bad news about Tate in the future.
Caroline: This was different. Vision was recent past. What I'm trying to understand is that why, when I pick up the hotel phone, here, where the kidnapper stayed, my vision I see you.
Victor: I hope you're not suggesting I had something to do with Tate's disappearance.
Caroline: Did you?
Victor: Of course not! What you probably saw was when I was on the phone when I first heard that Tate was missing.
Caroline: But that doesn't feel right to me.
Victor: If you're so damn suspicious, why didn't you tell the others?
Caroline: Because I'm trying to understand the whole thing, and I don't-- they're upset already, and-- I was trying to give you a chance to explain before accusations start.
Victor: I think what you should do is keep your flimsy vision to yourself. As you said, it'll upset people, and for no reason. I'm innocent.
Caroline: I know you a long time, Victor, and my gut tells me you're not being honest with me.
Victor: I did not kidnap Tate. And you should take your hocus pocus suspicions, an as I said before, keep them to yourself. It'll only discourage the others from looking for the real kidnapper.
Caroline: But I--
Brady: What's going on here?
Victor: Oh, this whole situation's got everybody on edge. It's nothing.
Marlena: Oh. Where is it this time? Prague? Istanbul? Some island nobody's ever heard of?
John: Hey, come on. When did me giving you flowers become synonymous with me cutting out on you?
Marlena: Do you want me to answer that? They are beautiful.
John: Just like you. And yeah, doc, I do. I have to cut out of town for a couple days. Only because I've got a real solid lead on Tate.
Marlena: I'm so glad there's a lead on Tate.
Marlena: Do everything you can to find him, I know you will, but please, please-- be safe yourself.
John: Oh, you know I will. And until I get back, here's a little something to remember me by.
Maggie: You didn't say a word the whole drive home.
Victor: I was deep in thought.
Maggie: You're angry with me because I contacted Caroline.
Victor: Oh, Maggie, I'm not angry. I know your intentions were good.
Maggie: Victor, I thought it had a shot of working. You know and I got the strangest feeling that maybe it did work in some way. Maybe not in a good way. That Caroline was holding something back.
Victor: Oh, Maggie, I'm sure Caroline would have said something if she saw anything she thought could be of use. Even if it was in a bad way, as you say.
Maggie: I just want this to be over. I want that precious little boy found.
Victor: We all do. In the meantime, we have to concentrate on the positive. Just think, soon you'll be going into surgery. Hopefully walking. You look tired, why don't you lie down for a little bit?
Maggie: Yeah, I suppose I should. [Sighs]
Theresa: Hey. Flight's leaving on time?
Brady: I was just trying to find some more information on this Lauren Cartwright online, and I'm-- I'm not having any luck.
Theresa: I'm trying not to get my hopes up too high, you know? I mean, I was so sure that we were gonna find Tate in Las Vegas, and-- Brady, I'm not sure I can survive another disappointment.
Brady: I know, I know this whole thing has been-- it's been terrible. I mean, this thing has been a nightmare.
Brady: You know what I was thinking about, though? Remember not too long ago when we had to fight Kristen to get our son back. You remember that?
Brady: You remember how ferocious you were? How strong you were? I mean, you-- you didn't rest until our son was back in our arms, and baby, I need that woman here. I need her strength, I need her courage, and-- we're a team now. And I swear to God, if we remain a team, we're gonna get our little boy back. Okay?
Brady: All right.
Sonny: "Jamie got into the car. Jack pressed the fly button. As it started to move, they buckled their seatbelts. All of a sudden, the shiny, red car transformed into a black spaceship and started to fly. 'Wow!' Shouted the twins."
Gabi: What are you smiling about?
Sonny: Just reminded me of one morning when, uh, will made Arianna pancakes for the first time. Did mommy ever tell you that story?
Sonny: Your daddy was so proud of these cute little bear pancakes that he made out of the batter. But then he had to make a whole new batch because he refused to eat the cute little bears. He said the bears were his best friends.
Gabi: I completely forgot that story. [Laughs]
Sonny: Well, I did too, until I-- [Sighs] Looking at this book.
Gabi: I'm really happy that you're home, Sonny.
Sonny: I'm happy too.
Gabi: You know, I have this feeling that will is somewhere watching down on us. Smiling at the three of us.
Sonny: Well, sweetheart, let me [Clears throat] Where were we here?
Gabi: Yeah. [Laughs]
Sonny: Um, so, "the pancake started to run. And it ran into a big giraffe. And the giraffe said, 'pancake, pancake, where are you going?'"
John: Hey, I gotta shove. I'm meeting Brady and Theresa at the airport.
Marlena: Okay. Give them my love. Tell them I'll be praying for them, and for Tate.
John: I will. I'm gonna find our grandson, doc. When I get back, you and I are gonna blow this town up with the best wedding Salem has ever seen.
Marlena: [Laughs] Oh. All righty, then. You know, it'll be 30 years since we got married the first time.
John: I remember it like it was yesterday. You're even more beautiful today than you were back then. I love you.
Marlena: Love you. And... please be safe.
Caroline: I wish you and Brady all the luck in the world. God bless.
Theresa: Thanks, Grandma.
Brady: Thank you. Looking at a really powerful team here. And we're not gonna come back until we find the person who's responsible for kidnapping Tate, and we're gonna make them pay.
Theresa: And more importantly, we will get our precious little boy back. And everything's gonna be perfect again. I love you.
Brady: Thank you.
Lauren: It is done
Victor: Excellent. Now you must make sure that absolutely nothing goes wrong, do you understand? Now you must make sure that absolutely nothing goes wrong. Do you understand? Do you understand?
