[Wagner's "Here Comes The Bride" playing]

Hope: Where's the minister?

Aiden: Hmm?

Hope: The minister.

André: [Sighs] I'm sorry I'm late. I hope I haven't been keeping you too long at the alter.

Hope: What the hell are you doing here?

André: Dearly beloved... we are gathered here today to unite these two people...

Hope: Aiden, what is he doing?

André: In holy matrimony.

Hope: What's going on?

Aiden: What do you mean? We're getting married.

Hope: No, no, no, no, no. Not by him. That's insane.

André: Marriage is not to be entered into unadvisedly or lightly, but reverently, discreetly, soberly, and in the fear of God. I just love that bit.

Hope: Ciara, oh, my God, what are you doing? Get away from her! Stop! Get away from her!

André: Aiden Jennings, wilt thou take Hope to be your lawfully wedded wife? Wilt thou, forsaking all others, take thee only unto her, for as long as ye both shall live?

Aiden: I will.

Hope: Oh, my God. Someone tell me what the hell is going on here.

Aiden: Honey, what's wrong?

André: Hope, as usual, you are ruining everything.

Aiden: Please, Hope, tell me, what more do I have to do?

Hope: No. No, I can't marry you. Not like this. No!

Aiden: [Sighs] All right, well... here we are. Okay.

Chase: Why is that guy watching me like that?

Aiden: There's got to be a special guard on you.

Chase: What? Why?

Aiden: Oh, look... DA made it part of the bargain to put you in here. Don't worry about it. I think it's a great idea. Have someone look out for you

Chase: So I don't get beat up again?

Aiden: You're safe here, okay? You're in a place where you're gonna get the help that you need. Okay?

Chase: I guess.

Aiden: Hey... just focus on being the Chase that I know. Okay? Put that awful day with Ciara behind you. Chase? This is for the best. You know that, right? You know me, I wouldn't say it if it weren't true. I love you. You know that, right? And you know I'd do anything for you.

[Dramatic music]

Ciara: So, do, uh, most shrinks take people out on walks after a session?

Marlena: No, they don't. I think you're a rather special client.

Ciara: Well, I really do feel better after talking to you.

Marlena: That's the way it's meant to work.

Ciara: In fact, seeing you has got me thinking about something. An idea I've had.

Marlena: Really? Tell me about your idea.

Ciara: It's not that big a deal. It's just...my whole future. [Marlena laughs] [monitors beeping]

Abigail: Chad.

JJ: Hey, it's me. Chad went home to shower and change.

Abigail: [Whispers] JJ.

JJ: He was here all night, though.

Abigail: That's good. It's good he went home to be with Thomas.

JJ: Well, you--you... probably shouldn't take that off.

Abigail: No, it's okay. They said that I could-- I could take it off for... a few minutes here and there. [Sighs] Why you in your uniform? Did someone ass-- did they assign you here? To guard me? Is that why you're here?

JJ: No. No, I was on duty and I came straight over here. And the only reason why I'm here is because you're my sister and I love you.

Abigail: Even now?

JJ: Especially now. And when you say you didn't start that fire... I don't care what anyone else says, I believe you. What?

Abigail: I know what I said, but... what if I was wrong? What if I really did start that fire?

Jennifer: I came to see the baby and Harold said I could wait for you.

Chad: Yeah, I'm just... I'm here to hold Thomas, change my clothes, and then I'm gonna head right back to the hospital.

Jennifer: Yeah, I want to go see Abigail, too, but I want to talk to you first.

Chad: About what?

Jennifer: About Abigail. I am not gonna let you do what I think you're planning.

Blanca: Oh, good morning.

Rafe: Good morning.

Blanca: I didn't know you could cook.

Rafe: Oh, I can't. It doesn't take a gourmet chef to whip up a couple eggs. You know, uh, coffee's ready. Help yourself.

Blanca: Thank you.

Rafe: Yeah.

Blanca: Sorry. You know, I've been thinking. This house, it isn't that big. And your mom already has you, your brother, your sister, and little Arianna living here with her.

Rafe: Too much chaos for you?

Blanca: No, no, I like the noise. I'm asking if-- if it would be easier for you if I weren't here. [gentle music]

Aiden: I just wanted you to start your day knowing that someone was thinking about you. Aiden.

Dr. Robinson: There's a court-mandated period of no fewer than six months for evaluation.

Chase: And then what?

Dr. Robinson: Well, that depends on you. We have a lot of work to do together and much of it isn't gonna be easy, but... it's our goal to make you healthy and send you back out into the world.

[Dramatic music]

Marlena: Yeah, psychotherapy can be a very rewarding career. It can also be incredibly frustrating.

Ciara: Yeah, I know, but... I know that at least I have to get a Master's degree to be a psychologist and an MD to be a psychiatrist, but, like, is there anything I can do now? Like read a book or something? Just to see if it's something I really want to do.

Marlena: The quickest way might be some first hand experience.

Ciara: How do I do that?

Marlena: Well, you could volunteer at the hospital's psychiatric unit. Or there's a private institution not too far from here. You could volunteer there. Um, what's the name of the place?

Marlena: Shady Hills.

Ciara: That's where Abigail is? I'm babysitting for Chad and he told me a lot about it. It'd be nice if I could get a volunteer position there. And maybe I could be with Abigail when Chad isn't.

Marlena: All righty. When I get back to my office I will call and see if we can get you an interview.

Ciara: Really?

Marlena: Mm-hmm.

Ciara: That would be totally amazing. Thank you. [Marlena laughs]

Chad: What--What exactly are you gonna stop me from doing?

Jennifer: Chad, don't play games with me. You said last night that you were gonna get Abigail out of Shady Hills even if it meant you had to break her out.

Chad: Yeah, well, they're thinking about putting her in a state mental institution. Is that what you want?

Jennifer: No, it's not, but I don't-- I don't think that's gonna happen.

Chad: How do you know?

Jennifer: I don't know. I guess I don't. I'm not sure.

Chad: Abby's scared to death of it. After her shutting down the last few weeks. Not wanting to see me or Thomas. I just got her back a little bit I'm gonna do whatever I can for her.

Jennifer: Yes, of course, but what happened yesterday to Abigail has nothing to do with her being at Shady Hills.

Chad: Well, Shady Hills is a joke. It's not doing any good for her.

Jennifer: Okay, but she needs to be there to recover. Chad, I went through this with my mother. And as much as I hate to say it, she needs to be confined. She needs full-time treatment. And Shady Hills is right here. It's right by us. So please listen to what I am saying and come to your senses. Sorry I'm a little bit late. Um... do you have a minute?

Roman: For you, always.

Hope: Okay.

Roman: You okay?

Hope: Yeah, I just--I-- I didn't sleep very well last night.

Roman: Well, I, um... sure you got a lot on your mind.

Hope: And I'm leaving that at home. I have a job to do. And I want to run something by-- Are you, uh, checking my work?

Roman: Yours and Rafe's, yeah. Quite a case you got against Nicole.

Hope: No body... and except for the handkerchief found at the scene and some blood found on the tree-- where Deimos apparently hit his head, we only have Kate's word that she saw Nicole push Deimos into the river. We don't know for sure the guy's even dead. Of course I pray to God that he--

Roman: Not exactly an air-tight case, is it?

Hope: Have the results come back on the handkerchief yet?

Roman: Yeah, I actually had a message when I got in. They found trace amounts of blood spatter on it. DNA matches Deimos.

Hope: That has all the ear marks of a solid lead.

Roman: It does...

Hope: Yeah.

Roman: Indeed.

Hope: Rafe's gonna want to know about this immediately. Where is he? He's usually here by now. Wow. I wonder what's keeping him.

Rafe: You thinking of going back to Mexico?

Blanca: Oh, no, I'm an American citizen and I like Salem. I'm asking if you would rather I found my own place to live. If that would make your life easier.

[Footsteps approaching]

Adriana: Oh, if I'm interrupting--

Rafe: No, you're not interrupting, actually, you are right on time.

Adriana: On time for what?

Rafe: For what? I made the two of you breakfast.

Blanca: What? I thought you were making that for yourself.

Rafe: Ha, no. I am late for work. Sit. Eat. While you do that, the two of you can talk things out. Like, how it's not nice to lie to people.

[Dramatic music]

Adriana: You see how he talks to me?

[Door slams]

Adriana: [Scoffs] Ugh. These eggs are too dry.

Blanca: Why shouldn't he talk like that? He's right.

Aiden: Okay. So I really like this Dr. Robinson. I trust her. You know, you just-- you just do the work she's talking about.

You push through and I'll be proud to walk you out of here and help you start the rest of your life. Okay?

Chase: You really think you're gonna do that?

Aiden: Got a judge to put you in here instead of on trial for rape, didn't I?

Chase: Yeah.

Aiden: Yeah. You know, this really is for the best, Chase.

Chase: I want to get better, Dad.

Aiden: And you will. And you won't be alone, either. Not as long as I have breath in my body. Okay? All right. You're gonna be okay, you know?

Chase: Yeah.

Aiden: You remember that. Remember that I love you.

Chase: I love you too.

Aiden: Okay.

[Gentle music]

Aiden: All right. Okay.

[Cell phone chirps]

[Cell phone beeps]

[Dramatic music]

JJ: So... you're starting to remember more of what happened?

Abigail: I-- I guess. I don't know. I just really tired.

JJ: It's the sedatives.

Abigail: I just want to know how far gone I am. I want to know how far I was pushed. I want to know if I... really did push... myself to a place where I could hurt myself and hurt other people. And I want to know if I really am crazy.

JJ: You're not crazy, Abby.

Abigail: JJ. JJ... I thought-- I thought Dad saved me from the fire, JJ. Dad's been dead for three years. I can't tell what's real and what's not anymore.

Chad: [Sighs] Okay, look. When I said that I was gonna break her out, I-I was just--I was just blowing off steam.

Jennifer: Yeah?

Chad: Yes. I am worried about her in that place. That is a genuine concern, but when I--when I-- when I said that I- I didn't meant it. I was just having a rotten day. I wasn't thinking straight. I don't think any of us were. So I'm sorry if I caused you anymore stress. Her name is Hope. Hope Brady.

Blanca: And he's in love with her.

Adriana: And she's involved with another man.

Blanca: And that's none of your business. And it doesn't excuse what you did.

Adriana: Why are we sitting here talking about how Rafe feels about Hope? Why don't you tell me... how do you feel about Rafe?

Roman: You know, when you first got here you said there was something you wanted to talk to me about.

Hope: Oh, yeah, that's right.

Aiden: Hi. I, uh, got your text.

Hope: Hey. Yeah. Um, I'll catch you later.

Roman: You got it. Aiden.

Aiden: Roman. So...

Hope: Let's go somewhere else and talk, okay? Uh, Roman, I'm going out. I won't be long.

Roman: Sure.

Hope: Let's go.

[Dramatic music]

Chad: So this would be for the summer?

Ciara: Uh, yeah. I thought it would be good for Abigail to see someone she knows around that place.

Chad: Yeah, well, what about Thomas? He's nuts about you and, you know, I was hoping that you would be on full-time over the summer. That's-- I mean, that's the reason why I asked you to live in our guest house, Ciara.

Ciara: Look, I love Thomas, okay? And I love living in the guest house, but if I get the volunteer job, I'll just work around it so I can still help you. It just might not be full-time.

Chad: Okay, well... it would be nice to have somebody in there I can trust until...

Ciara: Until when? Is Abigail getting out?

Chad: There's just a lot of things up in the air right now. Excuse me.

Abigail: I want you to tell me the truth. If it turns out that I did start that fire, then I just want to know what's gonna happen to me. So I just want you to tell me. Are they gonna... They gonna arrest me? Are they gonna put me in handcuffs?

JJ: Nobody's saying you set that fire.

Abigail: JJ, please. It's okay. Just... please answer me.

JJ: I heard something. If they prove that you set that fire... Maybe they'll, um... they'll send you to another facility.

Abigail: What kind of facility?

JJ: One with more security.

[Gentle music]

Abigail: Like... like a place with, like... padded walls and stuff? Where they'll lock me up and--and... My God, JJ. Am I really that dangerous? Am I?

Dr. Robinson: There's gonna be intense therapy, Chase, but if you open yourself up to it, I think you're gonna start feeling better.

Chase: Well, I wouldn't mind that.

[Gentle music]

Marlena: And we will be meeting with Mr. Brown and-- Oh, there he is now.

Mr. Brown: Dr. Evans, good to see you again.

Marlena: Good to see you again too. And this is Ciara Brady, the young woman of whom I spoke.

Ciara: Hi.

Mr. Brown: Dr. Evans tells me that you're considering a career as a therapist.

Ciara: Yes, I am.

Mr. Brown: Why don't we talk in my office?

Ciara: Thank you for seeing me so soon. I know you're very busy.

Marlena: I will catch up with you later. I'm gonna pop in and see Abigail.

Ciara: Oh, can you tell her that I've been thinking about her? And that I've been taking really good care of Thomas.

Marlena: I will.

Ciara: Cool. I know I can learn a lot here. I hope it works out.

Roman: If you're looking for your partner, she had to go out for a while.

Rafe: I know. With Aiden.

Roman: If it makes you feel any better-- Look, I hate this as much as you do.

Rafe: Thanks.

Roman: You okay?

[Dramatic music]

Rafe: Am I okay? [Chuckles] You mean, is this going to affect my ability to do my job? Come on. All this time... before Bo came back and certainly since he passed... I really just wanted one thing. One thing; and that's for Hope to be happy. As far as I can tell, she is.

Aiden: So, the judge signed off on transferring Chase to a private psychiatric hospital. I just took him there.

Hope: I see.

Aiden: Yeah, the, uh, the doctor in charge of his case made it pretty clear they-- they don't want me to visit him for a while. I haven't drummed up any clients for the law practice, so, I'm... pretty much at liberty. Why'd you want to know?

Hope: Let's sit down.

Aiden: Yeah.

Hope: We have a--a lot to figure out.

Aiden: Yes, we do.

Hope: So I was thinking that maybe... it would be good for us to go somewhere. Away together.

Aiden: Well, if I didn't know any better, I'd say you just asked me to leave town with you. Is that a yes?

Aiden: I love the idea.

Hope: Good. Good.

Aiden: Yeah.

Hope: I just... I think we need some time away from all the craziness and distractions here.

Aiden: Absolutely. You're absolu-- So any ideas where you-- you want to go? Hawaii? You want to go to Paris? Where would you like to--

Hope: This isn't a honeymoon, Aiden.

Aiden: No?

Hope: No, it's an escape. I was thinking the Green Mountain Lodge.

Aiden: Green Mountain Lodge?

Hope: Yeah. It's beautiful. Beautiful, beautiful setting. It's not far from here, actually.

Aiden: In case things go south?

Hope: I didn't say that.

Aiden: Well, no, but I would be suspicious if you didn't at least think it.

Hope: Let's not assume anything, okay?

Aiden: You're right. No--no--no assuming. One day at a time. That's how we're gonna do it and I'd love a few of those. So while we're at this Green Martian Lounge, is it? Is that what it's called?

Hope: Still a comedian. I missed that. It's Green Mountain.

Aiden: Right. Right. Wow.

Hope: So it's still a yes?

Aiden: When do we leave?

Hope: How about now? Tonight?

Aiden: Wha-- Just like that?

Hope: I have a lot of vacation time coming to me. Is there something wrong with being spontaneous?

Aiden: No...[Laughs] Nothing--nothing at all. No, no. Not a thing. I just-- I'm--this day just took such a turn for the better. Um, so should I go get packed? Or what do you--

Hope: Yeah, go get packed. Yeah.

Aiden: Yeah?

Hope: Yeah, meet me at my place later.

Aiden: Okay.

Hope: I need to call Ciara, let her know and, of course, then clear the time with Roman.

Aiden: Yeah, and there's some things I need to take care of too. Um...all right, I'll see you later.

Hope: Okay.

Aiden: All right.

Aiden: You have no idea how happy you just made me. [Hope chuckles]

Mr. Brown: The day room is down the hall. You might find it more comfortable there. Good-bye, Ciara. It's been very nice to meet you.

Ciara: Very nice to meet you too. will Dr. Evans know where I am?

Mr. Brown: I'm sure I'll run into her. I'll tell her.

[Cell phone rings]

Ciara: Hey, Mom, what's up?

Hope: Where are you, honey?

Ciara: I actually might have some very cool news for my plans for the summer. I just want to wait until I know if it's gonna happen or not.

Hope: Am I gonna like this news?

Ciara: Yes, Mom. Don't worry, it's a good thing.

Hope: Then I can't wait to hear about it. Sweetie, the reason I called you is because I'm gonna go away for a few days.

Ciara: Where are you going?

Hope: Green Mountain Lodge... with Aiden.

Ciara: Oh.

Hope: Hey, if you're not okay with it, if it upsets you, I'll cancel.

Ciara: No, I'm-- I'm fine, Mom. You go, okay? And don't worry about me. All right? Everything's cool.

[Phone beeps]

Marlena: Okay. There you go.

Abigail: I don't know what's gonna happen to me if they send me to some state asylum. I just feel like-- I feel like I'm not gonna make it in a place like that and if they don't want me here, then... why can't they just send me home?

Marlena: It doesn't work like that.

Abigail: I know, but... I'm not gonna be a danger to anybody in my own home.

Marlena: Abigail... The police have not finished their investigation yet. We don't know what conclusions they're gonna come to. So, for the moment, just don't worry about that.

Abigail: [Sighs] Ben! Ben, please, don't do this! Ben! Ben! [Coughing]

Chad: Come on! Abby, come on! Come on, it's gonna be soon. Okay, we're out of here.

Abigail: Please stop!

Chad: I know, I know, come on. Let's go find your little boy. Okay.

[Dramatic music]

Abigail: No! No, don't do this!

Chad: Stop, Abby!

Abigail: He's ruined everything. He's never gonna let me have my life back.

Chad: Okay, now. No, there's nothing to do yet. I just need you to be ready. Uh-huh. No, there's no timeline yet. Just have a--have a cargo van. Make it unmarked. Uh-huh. Okay.

Blanca: Feelings for Rafe? Your son has no interest in me.

Adriana: You're just trying to avoid my question, but I already know the answer. I can see it in your eyes when you look at him.

Blanca: I'm gonna say it again; what does it matter?

Adriana: Patience, mija. I know that you already offered to move out of here.

Blanca: Oh, so you were eavesdropping?

Adriana: Yes. Sometimes a mother has no other choice. But he didn't take you up on it, did he? Enjoy your eggs.

Roman: Hope, you have got to be kidding me.

Hope: I have vacation time coming to me.

Roman: You know damn well I'm not talking about the time.

Hope: Look, Roman, I'm not gonna do a yelling match with you, okay? A simple yes or no, please? And you can't say no.

Roman: Okay.

Rafe: Say no to what?

Hope: Rafe...

Rafe: You seem surprised.

Hope: Let's go in the interrogation room.

Rafe: Yeah.

Hope: Aiden and I are going to go away for a few days.

Rafe: You're gonna be alone with him.

Hope: I'll be fine.

Rafe: No, no, I can see that. I mean, it is kind of hard to find privacy in this small town. I'm sorry. That, um... If that sounded a little sarcastic, I didn't mean-- Didn't mean that. Do you want me-- I can check with Roman. See if I can get things cleared up. I'll let him know that... I got it all covered for you.

Hope: That would be great if you could.

Rafe: [Chuckles] That must've come as a surprise for you, though, huh? When he asked you to go away.

Hope: Rafe... [Sighs] If I want to figure things out, I-I need to spend some time alone with him. And it would help if we were away from here.

Rafe: To see if you still click. You know what? That's-- That's good, though. I'm actually--I'm glad you're going away.

Hope: Really? You are? What?

Rafe: Oh, no, I am, 'cause... maybe you'll realize you're making a huge mistake.

Hope: I'm sorry.

Rafe: No, it's-- it's nothing to be sorry about.

[Somber music]

JJ: Abs, you're getting all worked up over something that's probably not even going to happen.

Marlena: He's right.

Abigail: You don't know that. You don't know that.

Marlena: Why don't I talk to Dr. Robinson and see if she'll let me take you out in the garden?

JJ: Yeah, that's a good idea. Let's get you some fresh air.

Abigail: No--What? I don't want "fresh air." I don't want to go to the garden! I want to go home! [Crying] I want to go home. I just want to go home.

[Dramatic music]

Mr. Brown: Ciara?

Ciara: Oh, hi.

Mr. Brown: I just got out of my meeting and... we've decided to offer you a volunteer position.

Ciara: What? You're kidding? I mean...that's really great.

Mr. Brown: I told my staff that you seem to me extraordinarily mature for a person your age. Welcome aboard.

Ciara: Wow. Thank you so much for this opportunity. Wow.

Mr. Brown: Yeah.

Ciara: I feel like my life's back on track.

Mr. Brown: Pleased to hear that. My office will be in touch about your hours and other details. Congratulations.

Ciara: Thank you.

And this is the day room. You can hang out here. Read, play cards, talk to other patients.

[Dramatic music]

Hope: Hey, I am so sorry to keep you waiting.

Aiden: Oh, no problem. How did everything go with Roman?

Hope: Um, good.

Aiden: Yeah?

Hope: Yeah, it's all-- it's all arranged. I just need to pack.

Aiden: All right, well, I'll give you a hand. Make it go faster.

Hope: No, that's all right.

[Cell phone ringing]

Aiden: It's the, uh-- it's the office. I have to take this.

Hope: Sure, I'll go pack.

Aiden: Okay.

Hope: Okay.

[Cell phone rings]

Aiden: What-- What do you want?

André: I'm so tired of waiting around. Waiting makes me unhappy. And when I'm unhappy, I want to make other people unhappy.

Aiden: Enough with the threats. Your plan is in motion.

André: Are you sure?

Aiden: Down to the last detail. Your wait is almost over.

Monahan: Hey, Brady. I hear you're the commissioner now.

Roman: And I hear you are the same low life you've always been. What the hell do you want, Monahan?

Monahan: I'm here to confess.

Rafe: To anything in particular?

Monahan: Yeah, I'm the guy who wasted Stefano DiMera.
