Provided By Suzanne
Clark: Aww, you remember me, after all that time.
Summer: How'd you find me?
Clark: Well, you know, it's funny what I can do when there's a whole lot of money on the line.
Maggie: That reminds me.
Maggie: I have to call Summer and let her know that we're here.
Victor: Oh, she'll find you. She has you on her emotional GPS.
Maggie: I know you don't like the idea of her living with us.
Victor: Au contraire. I think the presence of a neurotic grifter will only enhance our suburban townhouse fun.
Maggie: I don't talk about your children like that.
Victor: Well, you don't have to. I do.
Maggie: You have a point. I don't mean to be sentimental, but I do need help. And if, in the process, summer begins to believe that I really do regret having given her up, then maybe I won't feel so damn guilty.
Victor: You were 17 years old. You were alone in the world. You have nothing to feel guilty about.
Maggie: Victor, remember when you said that you would do anything for me? So what if you just pretend that whatever I want is all right with you? And what if--how do I put it-- you kept your big mouth shut?
Victor: You ask a lot, lady.
You know, I can't wait to get to know summer better. I'm interested in her thoughts on Aristotle's theories of virtue.
Maggie: Who was on the phone?
Victor: Justin wanted to know how we were adjusting to our reduced circumstances.
Maggie: And that was all?
Victor: We talked about a trip to the outlet mall.
Maggie: Damn it, don't lie to me. It was about Deimos, wasn't it?
Kate: I asked a question.
Deimos: And to answer your question, Nicole and I were conducting a little business.
Kate: You're intending for her to talk over basic black?
Nicole: Hi, Kate.
Kate: Hi. Do you think you should have talked to me about it first-- your partner? Because if you had, I could've saved you some time. I could've told you that Nicole wouldn't be interested because she has a company of her own to run.
Deimos: Thank you for getting me up to speed. So how about this? Titan buys DJ wear. That is the name of your company, isn't it?
Nicole: Yes, it is.
Deimos: Good. So I'll buy DJ wear; fold it into Titan. That way we'll all be one big, happy family. So, Nicole, what do you say?
Victor: Remember, you're not supposed to get agitated.
Maggie: You're the one who's not supposed to get agitated.
Victor: Maggie, it's so unlike you to be suspicious. Justin just wanted to know how we were doing.
Maggie: And to give you a report on Deimos.
Victor: Why would you even think that?
Maggie: Because you lost your business and your home. And while 99% of the people on this earth would be thrilled to live in this townhouse, you find it humiliating. Put together that list that you hate. It's not half as much as you hate seeing me in this chair. And all of that--all of that is because of Deimos. And you're not about to let him get away with that.
Victor: In the oresteia--
Maggie: Oh, don't start with the Greek crap!
Victor: It's not crap. It's right to the point. It's about two brothers who hated each other. And because of that hate, brothers killed brothers. Wives killed husbands. Sons killed mothers. And it would still be going on today if it weren't for the deus ex machina. I had to let Deimos get away with it so that my family wouldn't end up like the house of atreus.
Maggie: And did any of those nice people lie, like you're lying to me right now?
Victor: I am not lying.
Maggie: Well, you know, when you keep going on and on about the dead Greeks without answering my question, without looking me in the eye, I know you're lying.
Victor: Here's me looking you in the eye. I am not out to take revenge on Deimos.
Julie: Hello, Victor. We just popped by to see how you two are doing.
Maggie: Couldn't be better.
Nicole: You want me and my company?
Deimos: Well, acquiring DJ wear is what I would call a bonus. I want both, but what I really want is you.
Nicole: [Laughing] Oh. Well, I'm sure Kate would agree that's very flattering.
Kate: That's super flattering.
Nicole: Well, no one's mentioned money or--or how this would all work.
Deimos: Okay, the way I see it, DJ wear has its own identity, and I think it should stay that way. Therefore, you would be upped to running the basic black division.
Nicole: And I would be answering to you?
Deimos: To me and to Kate. Now, about money...
Deimos: Mm-hmm. Oh, hold on a minute. A little oversight. I forgot a zero.
Nicole: Well, I--I have a lot to think about.
Kate: Well, you should take your time.
Deimos: Yes, you should. I understand that you have partners.
Nicole: I'll be in touch.
Nicole: And I--I do have to say, your offer is intriguing.
Nicole: Bye, Kate.
Nicole: Excuse me.
Kate: So let me get this straight. Skipping over her incompetence, you're putting a woman who despises me in charge of basic black.
Deimos: Are you questioning my authority?
Kate: I'm questioning a lot more than that.
Kate: What's so funny?
Deimos: I never would have imagined that you'd be the jealous type.
Summer: Please, come in.
Clark: Planning a trip? I mean, you didn't know I was coming, so what's the hurry?
Summer: No hurry. I'm just moving.
Clark: Someplace nicer? Someplace ritzier?
Summer: I don't see what difference that makes.
Clark: Knock it off, Cindi. It's me, Clarky. And I'm guessing that you found yourself a new mark. And I think you're about ready to make your move.
Brady: Theresa, how did this get to be all about summer?
Theresa: It didn't get to be about summer. It still is about summer, because this whole issue with summer was never resolved.
Brady: Resolved--oh, because resolved--resolved is code for me saying, "Theresa, you're right about everything. Summer's bad. I'm nuts, and you're the only clear-thinking person on the planet."
Theresa: I truly believe that I am thinking clearer than you on this one thing.
Brady: I truly believe that if Maggie had had a son and that summer wasn't a woman...
Brady: This conversation would have been over a long, long, long time ago.
Theresa: I get it, Brady. You're mad, okay?
Brady: I'm not. I'm not mad at you. I'm frustrated, because I--I go to bed with you. I wake up with you. I'm raising my son with you. I'm doing everything with you, Theresa. And I go and help somebody, whether it's Maggie, grandfather, summer, whoever it is--I'm always coming back to you.
Theresa: And Brady, I don't like being--
Brady: Isn't that enough for you?
Theresa: I don't like being like this, okay? I'm not jealous. I'm just worried, okay? I don't trust summer, but that's not unwarranted.
Brady: It's a beautiful day out here. And I have a beautiful woman right in front of me.
Brady: Can we just soak up all this beauty and-- and just be happy? Can we not talk about summer? Let's not talk about her.
Theresa: You're right.
Brady: I'm sorry, what?
Brady: You said I was right.
Theresa: I said--I said you're right, yes.
Brady: But you don't think that, do you?
Theresa: I think that you're right that we shouldn't waste the time we have together on summer. Brady, when I thought I was gonna lose you, all I wanted was for the three of us to be together. And I have that.
Brady: Excuse me--we have it. We have it.
Nicole: Brady, hey, there you are.
Nicole: I need your help.
Kate: Of course you're right. Just because I don't want you to hire a neurotic, unstable woman who screws up everything she puts her hands on-- no, I must be jealous. I mean, it couldn't possibly be because I know Nicole, and I know how epic her failures have been.
Deimos: Hmm, is that why you went into business with her?
Kate: You'll notice it didn't last very long.
Deimos: Did you not hear how I set up the corporate structure--how Nicole would be answering directly to you? And has it ever occurred to you that bringing her into Titan might be the best way to keep an eye on her?
Kate: Really? Is that your only motive?
Deimos: No. Nicole has been a presence ever since that night she came here when Victor was having his heart attack. It would be foolish of me not to wonder why--and even more foolish for me not to do something about it.
Kate: I see. So you gave her power and lots of money. You really fixed her wagon.
Deimos: Are you sure you're not jealous?
Kate: No, I'm just disappointed.
Deimos: All right, fine. You're not jealous. It's all in my imagination. But still, it excites me.
Kate: No. You're not going to use sex to end this argument.
Deimos: And why not? If it were reversed, you would. And you'd have me exactly where you wanted me.
Kate: You're right. I would.
Nicole: There is an offer on the table. Deimos wants to buy DJ wear and fold it into Titan.
Theresa: But Kate is the co-CEO of Titan, which means we'd be answering to her. I thought the whole idea of starting our own company was to get away from that bitch.
Nicole: That was yesterday.
Nicole: This is today. Okay, but the other part of this deal is, I would have control of basic black, which means you have the freedom to run DJ wear any way you want.
Theresa: I'm already running it the way I want.
Brady: Let's stop--why don't--why don't we stop, right now, pretending, okay? The only reason you're proposing this, Nicole, is because it's your way in with Deimos. This whole thing is about you and Victor going after him. And I will repeat, it's a disaster waiting to happen. The reason he's making this offer is because he has a motive. It's a test. Do you not see that?
Nicole: I know what I'm doing, Brady, test or not.
Brady: What if you fail the test, Nicole? What if you end up like Maggie-- or worse?
Victor: Would, uh, anyone like a drink?
Maggie: Your answer to everything.
Julie: It's a bit early in the day.
Caroline: Uh, maybe some tea.
Julie: Oh, that would be lovely. I always feel like the queen of England when Henderson serves us tea.
Victor: He ain't here.
Caroline: What's wrong with him?
Julie: Well, come to think of it, what's wrong with you, Maggie, darling? You could cut the atmosphere in this room with a knife.
Caroline: Well, speaking of rooms, what--what are we doing in this room?
Julie: Are you redecorating the mansion?
Maggie: You don't know? Victor lost the mansion. And Titan and everything else.
Caroline: Oh, my g-- Deimos?
Maggie: Yes, Deimos. He poisoned me. He made Victor hand over everything in exchange for the antidote. So Deimos is the reason I'm in this chair. I fell down the steps because of the poison.
Caroline: That son of a bitch.
Julie: Why didn't you go to the police?
Maggie: Ask Victor that one.
Caroline: Oh, it's because he wants to take care of it himself, and he's not gonna stop until Deimos is stopped.
Deimos: Mmm, I think we need to fight a lot more. I like our version of anger management.
Kate: [Sighs] Be careful what you wish for. I'm not someone that you want to have angry at you. Just ask around.
Deimos: Mmm. I think I'm happy to take my chances. Mmm...
Deimos: One minute. Hold that thought.
Deimos: Kiriakis. Terrific, I'll be right there. I'm sorry, I have to go.
Kate: I'll get dressed. I'll come with you.
Deimos: No, no, no. Stay put. This won't take long. I'll be back before you know it. Mmm.
Summer: Don't call me Cindi.
Clark: Oh, that's right. You're summer now. Well, you can call me the ides of march.
Summer: I have so missed your wit.
Clark: Good choice, though. "Summer," so full of sunshine and optimism. Perfect name for a manic depressive.
Summer: I can see you haven't changed a bit. You're still a jerk.
Clark: Honey, you could call yourself lollipops and roses. You still make Kurt Cobain seem upbeat.
Summer: What the hell are you doing here, Clark?
Clark: Oh, you should have figured that out by now, summer. You owe me, and you have for a while. And now the bill's due.
Nicole: Uh, okay, you know what? We're getting off point here. There is an offer for our company on the table--a very generous one. And we'd be fools not to think of the--the upside of this, no matter what Deimos is up to. Look--all, right, look. Look at this offer.
Brady: So what? The guy's got money to burn.
Nicole: And because he does, we could double our money, and you two are spitting on it. Look, it's gonna be a long, rocky road before DJ wear establishes a toehold in this industry. This would just smooth out that road and speed things up.
Theresa: Yeah, but we'd be working with Kate and Deimos. To call them snakes would be an insult to snakes.
Nicole: You're taking this personally. It's just business, Theresa.
Brady: No, it's not. It is personal.
Nicole: All I know is, I'm working with two people who couldn't be more short-sighted.
Theresa: Well, you know what? If it's such a trial for you to work with us, then let us buy you out.
Nicole: Yeah, okay, um, maybe--maybe we should talk about that.
Brady: You're getting in way too deep with this psychopath, and I don't know if I'm gonna be able to help you get out of it.
Hey, hey, look at me--listen.
I know you like Maggie. I get it. I do too; I love her. And maybe that is enough of an excuse for you to get into bed with grandfather and--and do his bidding, even though you despise him. I don't know.
Maybe? What other reason could there be?
Summer: Dario, hey, uh, call me as soon as you can. I have to talk to you.
Brady: You can't underestimate Deimos, okay? Look what he did to Maggie, just--just to get back at Victor.
Brady, he's not gonna poison me.
Brady: [Stammering] Listen, I'm not supposed to tell you this, but grandfather doesn't even need you.
Brady: There's another plan. There is another plan to bring Deimos down. At the most, you're a diversion, Nicole. For God sakes, if that's not a reason to just walk away from this, I don't know what is. Please, before you get in too deep, just walk away and get out of this.
How do I know you're not just saying that to get me to back off?
Brady: Because I wouldn't lie to you, that's why.
Nicole: Unless you're just protecting me.
Brady: Nicole, I'm serious. I'm serious. I'm telling you the truth.
Nicole: Well, maybe I'll just prove you and Victor wrong. Maybe I'm better than just a diversion.
Deimos: Kate? I'm back. Hey.
Amber assumed it was a mirror.
Victor: You told them about Deimos.
Maggie: They're my friends. I needed to be honest with them.
Victor: I heard what you said, Caroline, but you're wrong. I hate what Deimos did, but I'm not seeking revenge. I don't want to make things worse than they already are.
Caroline: Wha--Maggie? Are you buying that?
Victor: Maggie, this is not a conversation I'd like to have in front of Caroline and Julie. I wish you hadn't brought it up.
Caroline: Damn it, Victor, she's worried. She has every right to be worried. Look at what Deimos has done so far. Who knows what he's gonna do. He is a demon. And demons never stop.
Victor: Well, I guess I'd best steer clear of him, then. Right? For both our sakes.
[Line trilling] Hello?
Nicole: It's me.
Victor: Why are you calling? Did something happen?
Nicole: No, I just wanted to let you know that I'm still in it. It's a cat and mouse game with Deimos, and I think I have the upper hand.
Victor: Good to hear. Keep me posted.
Kate: Kind of explains your interest in Nicole. Not much of a reason for jealousy.
Deimos: Oh, I don't know about that. This is a woman I once loved.
Kate: Well, Nicole may look like her, but it doesn't mean that she's anything like her.
Deimos: Even so, I'm not convinced that you wouldn't have been better off had you never seen this picture.
Theresa: I guess from the way Nicole tore out of here, she didn't listen to reason.
Brady: Nope, I--
Theresa: She's still going after Deimos.
Brady: I cannot seem to get to her.
Theresa: Hey, listen. If she wants to help Victor and get in bed with the man who almost killed Maggie, then there's nothing you can do.
Brady: [Sighs] It's summer.
Theresa: [Laughs] Calling 1-800-lancelot.
Brady: [Sighs] Summer.
Summer: Oh, my God. I am so glad you answered. I--but Brady, I--I'm in trouble--like, real trouble-- and I can't talk on the phone.
Brady: Okay, first of all, slow down.
Theresa: Can I see you, like--like now? It has to be right now.
Brady: Can you tell me what's wrong?
Theresa: Mercury's in retrograde. It's freaking her out.
Summer: I wouldn't ask if it wasn't urgent. Brady, I'm scared.
Brady: I'll--I'll meet you at the square. I know you don't want me to go.
Theresa: Hey, summer snapped her fingers. What choice do you have?
Brady: [Sighs] Theresa, I--I brought her here to Salem.
Brady: She's asked me for my help.
Theresa: And she took that ball and ran with it.
Brady: All right, you--I mean, you think she's playing me, right? I don't believe she is, but there's only one way to find out. I'm gonna put her to the test, okay?
Theresa: Who's grading that test, huh? You? She's fooled you once before, you know.
Brady: And I'll always have you to remind me about that.
Hey, I will be back.
Victor: I think we've talked enough about my brother. Maggie's getting tired.
Maggie: Maggie's getting angry.
Julie: Uh--[Clears throat] Victor's right. Uh, we don't want to tire Maggie out.
Maggie: Julie, Caroline, I need my friends. I need you to come back.
Caroline: Oh, no matter how Victor feels, you got it.
Julie: See you tomorrow, darling.
Maggie: All right, darling, thank you.
Julie: And Victor, thanks for that tea.
Caroline: Okay. Ugh. [Sighs]
Victor: Touch my hand. You sense anything? Are you still getting your visions?
Caroline: Victor, I'm sorry. My visions have stopped.
Caroline: The night you had a heart attack.
[Knocking on door]
Nicole: Hello? Is the man of the house around? I believe he's expecting me.
Remember, there's a proposition on the table?
Kate: Yes, yes, I'm aware.
Nicole: Kate, why do I get the feeling you're not happy about any of this?
Kate: I know all about Helena. I know exactly what Deimos sees in you, and it's not your executive abilities.
Nicole: Yes, I look like someone from his past--someone who exerts a good amount of control over his life, still. Look what he did to Victor in her name. So I'm just saying, it puts you in a pretty tenuous position around here.
Brady: Hey, what's going on? What couldn't you tell me on the phone?
Summer: Brady, I'm in trouble--real trouble. I did not expect this.
Brady: Expect what?
Summer: This guy shows up at my door just now--someone from my past that I didn't think I would ever see again. He tracked me down, and I need help to get him to go away.
Brady: Okay, stop, stop. What kind of help?
Summer: I need money.
Summer: Can I please not tell you? Can you please just--just help me and trust me that all this is gonna go away if you just do as I ask?
Brady: No, no, absolutely not. You have to tell me what's going on. Summer, summer, come on. I--look, I want to trust you. I do. But you can't throw this on me. You can't say, "I need money" and then just clam up like this. I'm--I'm sorry, I can't give you a cent until you tell me what the money's for and who this guy is. Tell me.
Summer: I robbed him. I was a con artist, and he was my mark.
Kate: "Tenuous." Really?
I don't know what you're after. But if you're under the impression that Deimos is so shallow that a passing resemblance to a woman 30 years dead would snag him, then I'm worried for you.
Nicole: After 30 years in prison, as soon as he was free, he went nonstop to Salem, knocked on Victor's door, and destroyed his life because of that woman. So you're right. Deimos isn't shallow. He's obsessed.
Kate: With Helena, not you.
Nicole: Okay, I'm gonna back up here. It is my executive abilities that led Deimos to offer me the moon for a company that's only been around for three months. So you're screwed--or, "in a tenuous position."
Kate: You know, he's been very, very candid with me. And he wants to bring you into the tent so he can keep his eye on you--so you'll be there under his thumb--because he doesn't trust you.
Nicole: Kate, why am I getting the strange feeling of déjà vu? I know I took his brother away from you so many years ago. Victor moved out of your bed and into mine. That kind of history will not repeat itself.
Deimos: Nicole. I thought I heard your voice.
Nicole: I'm here to take you up on your offer.
Deimos: Terrific. Why don't you follow me into my study, and we'll go over the details?
Theresa: Well, what a surprise. It's just the two of us. You remember summer, don't you? Surfer girl with the whistle only daddy can hear? I'd like to dump her onto Mulholland drive where she belongs. [Laughs] I've--I've really tried to get through to daddy, but he's just not listening.
Can't let you slip away
Theresa: Maybe I need backup. Yeah, think so?
I'm gonna make you stay
Theresa: John, um, it's Theresa. Listen, I hope it's okay to call you, but I really need you to call me back as soon as possible. It's about Brady. I'm worried. [Sighs]
Victor: I hope this is all right. If not, I'll go out and get you something from TBD.
Maggie: I'm sure it's fine.
Victor: Well, Maggie, I'm sorry about this morning. I was a real jerk. With everything you're going through, the last thing you need is me to be in a mood.
Maggie: I'm sorry that I talked to Caroline and Julie.
Victor: No, you're right. You have every right to talk to them. Tell them whatever you want.
Maggie: I was gonna say that I'm sorry I didn't let you know what I was gonna do. It must have seemed like I was talking behind your back.
Victor: No, I know you wouldn't do that.
Maggie: Victor, I don't want us to be at odds. I mean, if we can't deal with all of this together, Deimos has--he's really won.
Victor: Right. Well, we just won't talk about him.
Maggie: [Laughs] Like that's gonna happen.
Victor: You were on the phone. Was it, uh, summer?
Maggie: Yeah. I mean, no, I left a voice message. You know, it's funny. She was so anxious about moving in with us. I mean, I--I thought she would have shown up by now.
Brady: You were a con artist?
Summer: I was afraid to tell you. I told Maggie. You have been such a great friend, and you believed in me when I didn't believe in myself. And I didn't want to disappoint you.
Brady: But Maggie does know.
Summer: She was really nice about it. Look, Brady, this was many years ago, and I was--at least I hope I was a different person then.
Brady: [Sighs] And this guy? Who's this guy?
Summer: He was my biggest score. I made ends meet for a very long time off the money I made from him.
Brady: Well, I take it, then, this isn't some $100 scam-- something you pulled off at a racetrack.
Summer: No, it was more complicated than that. Look, I know how all this sounds, and you can judge me all that you want. But, Brady, I really need your help right now. This guy says--and I know that he means it--that if I do not pay him back, he's gonna go to the cops, to the feds--anything it takes to--to put me in jail. [Sighs] And wh--just when it looks like everything is turning around for me, he shows up.
Brady: Summer. How much are we talking about here?
