Philip: You wanted to see me?
Victor: Family has... suffered a tremendous loss. It's time for us to be celebrating the best of our resources-- each other. I forgive you, son, for all of your transgressions. Welcome back to the family.
[Monitor beeping faster]
I'll need you to leave the room. Now!
Theo: Dad, this is crazy. I told you, all this is mark's fault. I don't know how many more times I have to say it.
Abe: Son, don't be disrespectful.
Theo: What's disrespectful about telling the truth? I was there. I saw what went down. Go ahead, judge McNair, ask your son what he did to Ciara.
Mark: What? I have no idea what he's talking about, dad. What else is new? Half the kids in school can't figure this weirdo out.
Abe: Hey! That's enough. I'm sorry, judge, but I will not allow my son to be talked about that way.
McNair: Nor should you. However, I have no choice but to take my son at his word. The youngsters were apprehended in possession of spray paint matching the color of the obscenity on my car. That said, I will be pressing charges and seeing to it that all involved are prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
Ciara: Judge, you're gonna let them go. This is my responsibility. Only me.
Claire: No, no, no, it wasn't Ciara; it was me. I did it, okay?
Joey: Claire, I got this. I'm your man.
Henry: Me too. I mean, I did it.
Jade: Yeah, what they said.
McNair: You seem to be under the impression that this is all amusing, but I can assure you that it is anything but. Every one of you was caught in the act, and each and every one of you will be booked and charged accordingly.
Hope: Excuse me, your honor. May I please say something?
McNair: Yes, detective Brady.
Hope: Obviously it's been a very long and emotional evening that has ended very badly with tempers flaring and some very poor choices being made. I just wonder if there might be another way of working this out.
McNair: Rather than following the usual course of justice?
Kayla: Your honor, detective Brady and I would be more than happy to cover the cost of the damages to your car.
McNair: This isn't about financial restitution. It's about criminal behavior. These young men and women are old enough to take responsibility for their own actions.
Ciara: Then it's only fair that your son take responsibility for his.
Mark: Stop trying to turn this around on me. You're the ones who broke the law.
McNair: Detective Hernandez, proceed with processing.
Dylan: All right, you guys, come with me.
Claire: No. No, hey, this is not fair. You don't even know what he did to Ciara.
Joey: This is a joke!
Claire: Ask him, okay.
Dylan: Come on.
Claire: Ask anyone who was at the prom.
Dylan: Let's go.
Rafe: I'll keep an eye on them.
Kayla: Thank you.
McNair: Son, wait for me in the car.
Mark: Sure thing.
Belle: Your honor, it seems apparent that your son had something to do with provoking this.
McNair: Apparent to whom? There's no evidence linking him to the crime. If it's brought to my attention that he was involved, he will be dealt with as well. I see kids like this in my courtroom more often than not. Many of them end up appearing before me again on much more serious charges. What they need is a dose of good old-fashioned tough love. And that's what this court is going to give them. Excuse me.
Shawn: Can I talk to you in private please?
Abe: Son, it's getting late. We should head home.
Theo: I'm not going anywhere. Not without Ciara. Pet moments are beautiful,
Dr. Malik to the emergency room. Dr. Malik.
Abe: Theo, you cannot wait around for Ciara.
Theo: Why not?
Abe: She could be here all night. At this hour, it's doubtful they'll be able to squeeze in an arraignment.
Theo: Well, I don't care, dad. I'm not leaving.
Kayla: Theo, can you tell us what happened at the prom? I mean, everybody's pointing their finger at this kid, mark. Was he really responsible for all this?
Theo: Totally. Mark was jealous that Ciara was with me and not him, so he had to find a way to hurt her.
Abe: Go ahead. Go ahead, Theo, explain what happened.
Theo: All right. We were having a lot of fun and Ciara looked beautiful, you know, and then me and her won king and queen. So we went up to get our crown and then something happened with the video and, I don't know. People--people were saying that it was a technical problem, but then a picture of chase and Ciara came up. Mark had a way to hack into the system. He... accused Ciara of... being a party girl and a slut.
Abe: Oh, man. Oh, that's terribly cruel. That's-- you know, but whatever was done to provoke her, it doesn't excuse the vandalism.
Theo: Dad, I know that, but how is it fair that mark is getting away with what he did and my friends are spending the night in jail?
Abe: We just have to have faith that the truth will come out and mark will be held accountable for what he did as well. But, you know, I'm just grateful that you weren't involved. I'm proud of you, son.
Theo: Well, don't be. The only reason I didn't go is because Ciara didn't tell me. If I'd have known, I'd have been right by her side.
Shawn: So, how do you think Claire got dragged into this mess?
Belle: I'm not so sure she was "dragged" into it. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if this was Claire's idea.
Shawn: What? Why would you--why would you think that?
Belle: Listen, Shawn, I know you like to think of her as daddy's little girl, all innocent and sweet, but I think it's time for you to adjust that POV just a little bit.
Belle: Yeah, really. Your daughter has a rebellious streak, in case you haven't noticed. And she's got quite a temper. I don't know. I think here she was probably outraged on Ciara's behalf and encouraged her to even the score.
Shawn: Oh, well, you know what? I'm--I am so impressed that you seem to think that you know exactly what went on and why, given you weren't even there.
Shawn: I mean, so why don't you educate me a little bit more on the moral flaws of our daughter? You know, the one that you ignored for so long.
Belle: Oh, don't you dare do that. I do not ignore Claire. She's the most important person in my life. If you're insinuating that I had something to do with her behavior tonight... [Scoffs] You are, aren't you? What, you think that if I would have been a more attentive mother that none of this would have happened? [Scoffs] Admit it, Shawn, you think this is my fault.
Kayla: I'm gonna step out and call Steve.
Abe: Hope, look, I am sorry. I know this is difficult for you.
Hope: Much more difficult for Ciara. But I'm so grateful that Theo was there to stand up for her. He's a great friend.
Abe: Well, Ciara and Theo have had each other's backs since they were little kids.
Hope: Yeah, they have.
Abe: But times have changed since then.
Hope: What do you mean?
Abe: You know, I know some people think I'm... overprotective of my son. Including my son, some of the times, anyway. Maybe I am. But he has no mother, and he obviously has to face some special challenges.
Hope: Abe, you don't have to make excuses for protecting your son. I'm a single parent, too. I get it.
Abe: I'm glad. Look, you're gonna have to understand when I tell you that I think Theo has to focus on gaining confidence and figuring out how to navigate situations that for most of us are instinctive.
Hope: What are you trying to--what are you trying to tell me?
Abe: Oh, I wish this weren't the case. I don't think Theo's involvement with Ciara is good for him, not at this time, anyway. So for now, at least, I think... well, I think they should see less of each other.
Hope: [Stammering] I don't understand. What are you-- [Sighs]
Hope: Just say how Theo and Ciara have always had each other's backs. Now, you're wanting them not to see each other anymore?
Abe: Look, I--Ciara has been a wonderful friend to Theo. I'm not refuting that. It's-- look, we both know that Theo has more invested in this friendship than Ciara. I mean, more--more expectations, I should say. I just don't want him to get hurt.
Hope: Well, he'll be far more hurt if we tell him he can't see his best friend. Who, by the way, made a deliberate choice to protect him tonight.
Abe: Oh, I know. I appreciate that. I appreciate that. But if I don't set some firm ground rules, the next time Ciara gets in trouble Theo will be right by her side. Now, I can see that. Ciara, too. Why can't you?
Ciara: God, jade!
Jade: Sorry, it was a roach. I'm not sleeping in here with that thing crawling around.
Claire: Don't worry, Ciara. It's just our friendly neighborhood exterminator. You know, why don't you come over and sit by me?
Ciara: No. I can breathe better over here.
Claire: Hey, look on the bright side. You know, at least we got back at that stupid jerk, mark, for what he did to you and Theo. Yeah, sure, our parents are mad, but they'll get over it. And by this time tomorrow, our bail will be paid and we will be out of this hellhole.
Belle: Don't you dare make this about me. Not that I'm surprised. That is your default mo after all.
Shawn: [Laughs] Oh, this is familiar territory.
Belle: Yes, and so much easier to make this about me than to deal with the real problem that our daughter is facing and, I don't know, work to find a solution.
Shawn: Look, you know what, belle, you're right. It is our responsibility as parents to help guide our daughter to make the right choices in life so that she doesn't, I don't know, end up in jail, which just happened.
Belle: Okay, I get it. So Claire is in jail because I didn't guide her to make the right choices. Wow, that is so obvious I can't believe I didn't see it. Well, now that she is in jail because of my negligence as a parent, I'm gonna do something wildly out of character and go see if there's something I can do to help our daughter and her friends get out of jail!
Hope: It's late. Night court's gonna be over soon. Doesn't look like the kids are gonna be arraigned after all tonight.
Shawn: I don't know what else to do. Maybe it might be good for them to spend the night behind bars.
Hope: Hey, how did Steve take the news?
Kayla: I changed my mind. I didn't call him. I decided I need some time before I'm ready to deal with his reaction calmly. Listen, I'm--I'm really sorry that this happened, especially for poor Ciara. I mean, obviously, for you, too.
Hope: Here I was so excited and happy for her that she decided to go to the prom.
Kayla: Of course. It was supposed to be a fun night for them all. It's just sad that it was ruined, especially for Ciara.
Hope: For all of them.
Kayla: Well, when Joey gets home, I am going to kick his butt. [Groans] Call me later. I'll be at home.
Hope: I will.
Kayla: Okay, baby.
Hope: Love you.
Kayla: Love you.
Lani: Hey. Look, I know you're having a rough night, but roman just called and wants us on a stakeout. If you're not up for it, I'll ask McGovern.
Shawn: No. No, actually, don't. I could use the distraction. At least tonight I know where my daughter is and who she's with. So that's good. Let's--let's do it. Let's roll.
Lani: All right.
Belle: Hey, Justin, it's belle Brady. Listen, I need some legal advice, so if you could give me a call sooner rather than later, that would be great. Thank you.
Philip: Excuse me. I'm his son. What was happening in there?
Your father developed a case of hypoxia, low oxygen saturation. We were able to reverse it and we're now monitoring the levels. He should be fine.
[Cell phone rings]
Philip: Hey you.
Belle: Hey. I really need to see you.
Philip: What's going on?
Belle: I don't really want to talk about it on the phone. Can I come to your hotel?
Philip: Give me ten minutes. I'll be right there.
[Phone signals off]
Hope: How are the kids?
Rafe: Oh, safely tucked in their cells. Not thrilled about it, obviously.
Hope: Obviously. Thanks for looking out for them.
Rafe: Of course. Sorry for what that kid did to Ciara.
Hope: Me, too. For her to be humiliated like that... in front of all of her friends, the whole school. I mean, don't get me wrong. I am sorry she reacted the way she did, retaliating in such a destructive way. I suppose I should be surprised, right?
Rafe: Hey, it's gonna get better with time. It will.
Hope: Yeah, right. With time. And with the right kind of support. I've got to find a way to get through to my daughter before things go from bad to worse, Rafe.
Ciara: Yeah. Hey, uh, thanks for standing up for me, Claire. You didn't have to do that. I'm the only one that deserves to be in here.
Claire: Friends stick together. There's no way that we would let you go through this alone. [Laughs] Get a load of that. "For stony limits cannot hold love out."
Claire: [Laughs] It's from "Romeo and Juliet." The only reason I remember is 'cause I thought it would make a cool song lyric.
Ciara: [Chuckles] It's catchy.
Claire: It's Shakespeare.
Jade: Kind of sexy in a kinky sort of way, huh? Us being locked up together.
Joey: I guess that's one way of looking at it.
Jade: Just go with the flow. That's what I always say. I just wish I was over there with you.
Joey: Yeah, I wish you were, too.
Joey: Hey, thanks for standing strong with us, jade.
Jade: Strength in numbers, right? What?
Joey: I know you pretend not to give a damn... but I think beneath all that tough girl stuff you're really--
Jade: A softy?
Ciara: At least someone's having fun on prom night. I'll probably be grounded till I graduate college.
Claire: Hey, well, at least your parents care enough to even punish you. Mine probably won't stop fighting long enough to notice.
Lani: I'll take over now if you want.
Shawn: No, that's okay. I'm good.
Lani: No surprise, right?
Shawn: What's that?
Lani: The rumors about a prostitution ring operating out of this fleabag.
Shawn: Hey, look at-- check it out. Someone's checking in.
Lani: What? Let me see.
Lani: Oh, yeah. He's so up to no good. I mean, the uniform. He must be into role-play.
Shawn: Yeah, typical John, shifty as hell. Wonder what he's got in the bag.
Lani: Toys. And not of the choo choo variety.
Shawn: [Chuckles] Right.
Lani: Wait. Wait a minute.
Shawn: What do you see?
Lani: He's going back to the car. See?
Lani: He's not ordering, he's delivering. Moo-shu pork, spareribs. Maybe we should just take the plates just in case we want to order takeout later.
Lani: Hey, did anyone ever tell you that your whole face lights up when you smile? [Moaning] [Chuckles] Does that sound like a business transaction?
Lani: 'Cause to me, that sounds just about as personal as you can get.
Philip: I was worried about you. You all right?
Hope: I'm just here to say good night. Court's been adjourned for the evening. You'll have to stay here until arraignment in the morning. I'm very upset about what happened.
Claire: Hey, you weren't there. You didn't see what mark did.
Hope: I know what he did, and it was cruel and heartless. But to be destructive in return. Ciara Alice Brady, no matter how angry or upset or mad you were, what you did was wrong. I hope you know that. I hope you'll learn from this... because, trust me, revenge may feel satisfying in the moment, but you always end up paying a very high price.
Deimos: Nicole is quite the intriguing woman, isn't she?
Victor: Is that what you came down here to tell me?
Deimos: I'm certainly not surprised why you fell for her.
Victor: I was an old fool. She's a classless gold digger. Bleed you dry faster than all the tubes I have in my arm.
Deimos: Is that what you told her to do, brother? Bleed me dry?
Victor: Of course I did. She refused. Nicole's not easy to manipulate. I'd tell you to watch your back, but we both know that any knife that she-devil uses is going to be sharp and go deep.
Deimos: Not to worry. I have no intention of fearing or trusting any woman. Besides, you already sent Philip to do your dirty work, which, if I may say so, that boy needs to develop a spine. I saw right through his act. Or shall I say yours?
It's undeniable the way I crave your lips it's inconceivable that one touch could feel like this nothing can change my love for you no one could love me like you do baby, you're unbelievable
Shawn: Mm-mm, mm-mm. Lani, stop. What are you doing? We're on duty. We could get-- we could lose our jobs.
Lani: Okay, what if I tell you that there was no stakeout, that I made this whole thing up just to get you alone?
Shawn: What? What? You're joking, right?
Lani: Okay, look, it looked like your head was about to explode and I could tell that you needed a distraction, okay? Which you confirmed when I asked you to come with me, so...
Shawn: Oh, oh.
Lani: Salem police!
Shawn: Drop your gun! Drop the weapon!
My husband. He was cheating on me. Sob said he was bored, wanted more excitement in bed, more danger. So I gave him what he wanted. What do you think, Officers? Job well done?
Deimos: I appreciate your warning about Nicole. However, I do feel very confident that I have things under control.
Victor: [Chuckles] Of course you do, you arrogant bastard. Why don't you stop spewing nonsense. Tell me why you're really here. Took everything I've got. Left the woman I love in a wheelchair. What the hell else do you want?
Deimos: I want to tell you I forgive you.
Hope: Thanks for walking me home.
Hope: Helped me work off some of the stress.
Hope: Not exactly the evening we had planned, was it?
Rafe: Not exactly. It's okay. There'll be other nights.
Hope: Definitely. Good night.
Rafe: Good night.
Hope: Good night.
Rafe: [Chuckles] Yeah.
Claire: It's been a long night the moon was bright on the back porch of your old house in the summertime we were anyway the stars could find we were just kids all lost in the heart of time we were every way no expiration just me and you and this dream for two and after we wake up the story's just begun yeah, we're lost out here these dreams now are fears for us and after we wake up the story's just begun yeah, we're lost out here these dreams now are fears for us and after we wake up the story's just begun yeah, we're lost out here these dreams now are fears for us and after all we were bound to fall yeah, our suffering was just living in this house
Henry: You sound awesome, Claire.
Claire: Thanks, Henry.
Henry: You know, before-- before we got busted, I was able to upload your song to YouTube. Only a matter of time now before you're big and famous. [Chuckles]
Philip: [Sighs] What's that for?
Belle: For being there when I needed you. I spent the better half of the night at the police station.
Belle: Oh, Claire and her friends got into some trouble at the prom. Long story short, she got arrested for vandalizing a car.
Philip: Oh, that's why you were so upset. Hey, whatever happened to dancing and spiking the punch?
Belle: Too conventional, I guess.
Philip: It doesn't sound like Claire and her friends.
Belle: Well, it sounds like they were provoked. There's some bully at school that was picking on Ciara and they all came to her defense. Claire is an emotional wreck right now. And to make matters worse, her father thinks it's all my fault.
Shawn: [Sighs] Well done, price. Crime scene was nice and secured. Good thinking on calling in psych. They're definitely gonna have their hands full.
Lani: Yeah, I'll say.
Shawn: We should probably get back to the station, fill out a report.
Lani: Ironic, isn't it? That a fake stakeout would actually turn into a real murder investigation.
Shawn: Yeah. It's--it's pretty crazy.
Lani: Is it wrong?
Shawn: Is what wrong?
Lani: For me to kind of be turned on by all of this?
Shawn: Lani, two people were just murdered and a psychotic woman is most likely gonna spend the rest of her life in an institution. What, that turns you on?
Shawn: Well, that's what you said.
Lani: Okay, well, you misunderstood. I meant being in this motel room alone with you. Okay? I just really like being alone with you.
Shawn: Okay. All right, listen. We gotta get back to the station. Let's go. We gotta head out, all right? Go.
Philip: Now, it's insane that Shawn would blame you for what happened.
Philip: Look at me. You're a wonderful mother. Claire's lucky to have you in her corner.
Belle: I don't know about that.
Philip: Hey. Give yourself a break. It's gotta be tough... [Clears throat] Raising a teenager as a single parent.
Belle: Let's get married.
Jade: Can't sleep? Mind if I ask you a personal question? Look, I know you're this really complex person and... I don't know, it makes me more curious about you, who you actually are, what you want.
Ciara: What I want?
Jade: I mean, out of life. Where--where do you see yourself in the future, you know? I guess what I'm trying to say is, what do you want to do with the rest of your life?
Ciara: Do you know what you want to do for the rest of your life?
Jade: I mean, I have some ideas, but they're not fully formed or anything. But I kinda know, yeah.
Ciara: Well, I don't. I have no idea, not a single one, and it's scaring the hell out of me.
[Cell phone rings]
[Distorted voice] I'm very disappointed in you.
Hope: Go to hell. I'm done playing this game with you.
This is no game. Someone needs to stop Deimos Kiriakis before he takes another life.
Victor: I don't need or-- or want your forgiveness. You may not have killed Helena, but you're sure as hell responsible for her death. That's why you keep coming back to me. There's a black abyss where your soul should be. You understand that if it weren't for you, Helena would have never been on that cliff and would have never fallen. You shouldn't be here granting forgiveness. You should be begging for it. And even when I see you in hell I won't grant it.
Deimos: Why don't you go there right now, you son of a bitch? You can wait for me, and then we'll see.
