Provided By Suzanne

[Somber music]

Maggie: Summer.

Summer: [Exhales sharply] You're--you're awake. I'm so glad.

Maggie: What happened? Why am I here? [Sighs] Where's Victor?

Deimos: I'm really sorry to hear that. Maggie truly is a wonderful woman. I never wanted to hurt her.

Victor: You crippled her.

Deimos: She's alive, Victor. Isn't that what you wanted?

Victor: You bastard.

Deimos: I would have appreciated that same option with Helena. I at least gave you a choice.

Victor: I will kill you. [Draws knife]

[Dramatic music]

Victor: [Drops knife] [Coughs softly] [Panting]

Maggie: Summer. Tell me, please, why-- why am I here?

Summer: [Huffs] I'm not sure. You-- you must've gotten really sick.

Maggie: I fell... oh, no, it's not. Why isn't Victor here?

Summer: Maggie, I-- I'm really sorry. I don't know anything. He was here. He was here. There must've been something he had-- try not to move, okay? Just please, stay calm.

Maggie: [Sighs] I can't feel my legs.

Brady: Granddad, you really need to get back to the hospital. Maggie needs you. Call me.

Theresa: Hey. Victor's not in the cafeteria and nobody saw him. You had him paged, right?

Brady: Yeah, yeah, I did, and nothing. I mean, I don't get it. The guy asked me to go get him a drink, then he disappears. He never shuts off his phone. I mean, where the hell is he?

Deimos: Opa.

Kate: Was that arguing I heard? Was Victor downstairs?

Deimos: Yes. That was Victor. Doing his best imitation of Zeus, thundering to the heavens. One last-ditch effort to regain his property and that massive corporation he was so proud of. But not to worry. I'm sure he's gone by now.

[Suspenseful music]

Deimos: [Sighs]

[Somber music]

Victor: Well, you left in such a hurry, I didn't get a chance to say good-bye.

Caroline: Well, the reason I--I didn't wait is I was afraid to come up with a really good reason for me to still live at the mansion and I mean, I'm fine, you know? I'm all right. And I think really I'm happiest when I'm at work.

Victor: Well, far be it for me to deprive you of your happiness. But indulge me. I brought you a gift.

Caroline: Oh. [Huffs] Oh. Oh. [Gasps] That's a--a Greek symbol, isn't it?

Victor: Exactly.

Caroline: Oh.

Victor: Guaranteed to ward off the evil eye. Not only that, but the person who wears it has eternal good luck.

Caroline: [Exhales sharply] Well, I--how could I say no to such--such good luck? Mm. [Sighs]

[Dramatic music]

Nicole: Hello? [Knocks] Hello. Maggie? Henderson? Victor. Well, I left my tablet here before I-- Victor. Oh, my God. You--you okay? Oh, my God. I'm going to help you. It's okay. Oh.

Deimos: Mmm. I love this piece.

[Soft jazz plays]

Deimos: It's kind of sexy, don't you think?

Kate: Depends on how much champagne I've had.

Deimos: Well, then, let's remedy that. Ah.

Kate: Cheers.

Deimos: Cheers.

Kate: Oh. [Chuckles]

Maggie: I can't feel my legs. I don't remember what happened.

Summer: Okay, Maggie, just try and stay calm. What is the last thing you do remember?

Maggie: [Inhales deeply] I was at Brady and Theresa's party. They were gonna announce their engagement. I found Theresa's ring caught on her chair. I leaned over to get it and I-I fell. I've--

Summer: And hurt yourself. That's why they brought you to the hospital.

Maggie: No. Uh-uh. No, I was okay. I was embarrassed. Victor wanted to take me-- he wanted to take me to the hospital. I wouldn't--I wouldn't go.

Summer: Well, he probably brought you anyway. He seems like a pretty forceful guy.

Maggie: I went home. Something happened at home.

Summer: Okay. Do you remember what you were doing?

Maggie: Victor, um, went out to the kitchen and I went upstairs.

[Somber music]

Something happened. I... I lost my balance. And I fell.

Summer: Maybe you did.

Maggie: [Sobs] I'm re--r--I-- I can't feel my legs.

Summer: Maggie.

Maggie: I should have listened to Victor. He wanted to take me to the emergency room. Oh, my God. Oh, my God.

Summer: It's okay. It's gonna be okay.

Maggie: I was so stupid. I can't feel my legs and I'm gonna be crippled.

Summer: Maggie, calm down. You need to calm down. You need to calm down, okay?

Maggie: I-I-I want Victor. He wouldn't have left me like this.

Summer: I'm sure he didn't.

Maggie: I need Victor. I need Victor. I need Victor.

Nicole: Victor, it's Nicole. Okay, I already called 911. They're on their way, so just hang on, okay? Oh, my God. Where is everyone? Oh. Can you talk? Oh, my God.

Victor: Hospital.

Nicole: Yes, yes, absolutely. Yes, I already called, okay? The ambulance is on their way. They're gonna get you to the hospital ASAP. Oh, my gosh. Maggie? Henderson? Look, who's ever upstairs, we could really use your help in here. Oh, my God, okay.

[Smooth jazz plays]

[Siren wails]

Kate: Why is that siren so close?

Deimos: Relax. It's probably somebody getting pulled over. Come here.

Kate: No, no, no. No. That's an ambulance. Can't you hear it?

Deimos: Of course, I hear it. It's hardly reason to stop everything.

Kate: It sounds like it's right outside the mansion.

Deimos: Kate.

Kate: No.

Deimos: Kate, come here.

Kate: It is right outside the house. What the hell's going on?

Deimos: Frankly, I don't care. I'm only interested in us, so come on. Come back to bed. Kate.

Nicole: Sorry.

When did it happen?

Nicole: Uh, I don't know.

How long ago did you find him?

Nicole: Guess, what, ten minutes ago? I called you guys right away. I-I mean, he could have been here for hours. He could barely talk.

Does he have any history of heart disease?

Nicole: Uh, yes. He does. Oh, my gosh. He's in awful pain. Can't you just shock him or something?

No, ma'am. Wait over there.

Nicole: It's okay, Victor. It's all right. You're gonna make it, okay?

[Indistinct radio chatter]

Summer: Fynn, I couldn't find the call button. You have to come right now. Maggie Kiriakis is awake and she's really freaking out. She can't feel her legs.

Fynn: On my way.

Summer: Okay.

[Somber music]

Maggie: [Groans] Oh, Fynn.

Fynn: Maggie.

Maggie: Dr. Thompson. I don't have any idea how I got in and I don't have any feeling in my legs.

Fynn: Okay. Let's take things one at a time, okay?

Maggie: I think I fell. Did I?

Fynn: You were brought here in an ambulance and, yes, your husband said you fell down the stairs. What we do know right now is there is some damage to your spine. Exactly what and how extensive it is, we don't know.

Feel anything when I do that?

Maggie: No. Nothing. I need you to tell me. [Sighs] Please. Am I ever gonna walk again?

Fynn: This doesn't mean that you're not gonna walk again. All it means is you can't feel anything in your feet. Tomorrow morning we have surgery scheduled first thing. When we can see what the damage is, then I can answer your question.

Maggie: Summer. Would you do me a favor?

Summer: Anything.

Maggie: Please find Victor.

Summer: Right away.

[Indistinct radio chatter]

ECG shows blockage. Pulse rapid. Transporting now. ETA ten minutes.

Nicole: Maggie, it's Nicole. I really need you to call me back, okay?

[Phone beeps]

Caroline: Victor, it's Caroline. It--oh, for God's sakes. Oh. Oh, God. [Huffs]

[Suspenseful music]

Nicole: I have a call out to his wife. I'll locate the rest of his family in town. We just have to hurry, okay? I'll be right behind you. Purse.

Kate: What the hell is going on? What are you doing here?

Nicole: What are you doing here?

Kate: What is the ambulance out there for? Who called it?

[Siren wails]

Nicole: Who the hell are you?

Kate: I asked you a question. Why was the ambulance out there? Who was it called for?

Nicole: And I asked you who your friend is. What, did you scratch him up like that?

Kate: Okay, look, just answer my question, okay?

Deimos: Who are you?

Nicole: Okay, uh, weird. Kate, what is going on with your guy here?

Kate: Uh, what's going on is really none of your business. Would you just stop evading my question, all right? What was the ambulance about? Why are you here?

Nicole: All right, well, um, if you must know, I was hard at work trying to save Victor's life.

Kate: What?

Nicole: He had a heart attack. I found him here on the couch. He was in a lot of pain and he could barely breathe.

Kate: Oh, my God.

Nicole : Yeah, oh, my God. So I called 911 and the ambulance came here but I guess you didn't hear me because you were too busy with your friend scratchy here.

Deimos: Excuse me. I'm Deimos. Deimos Kiriakis. I'm Victor's brother. I live here. Would you please tell me your name?

Nicole: Uh... Nicole.

Deimos: And your last name?

Nicole: Walker.

Deimos: Walker...

Nicole: Kate, I really don't understand how you didn't hear so-- you know what? This is weird. I'm out of here.

Deimos: Wait a minute. Nicole. I'm--I'm just curious about your background. Did your family originate in Greece, by any chance?

Nicole: What? What is the matter with you? I just told you your brother had a heart attack and all you care about is if my family is from Greece?

[Suspenseful music]

Brady: Summer. How's Maggie doing?

Summer: Oh, I don't know. I-I-I don't know. I didn't know what to say. She woke up and she couldn't feel her legs and I wanted to help, but I had no clue about what to say or what to do and--

Brady: Okay, hey, it's all right.

Theresa: Don't put this on yourself, okay? We should have given you some more details before the party.

Brady: I'll go in and talk to her.

Summer: No--no, you can't right now. Fynn is still with her. He said that she has to have surgery on her spine in the morning.

Brady: I'm aware of it. I know.

Summer: You know, and she sent me to find Victor. Just--just one job. Just one job I had to do and I haven't even been able to handle that.

Theresa: It's okay, just join the club. Look, we've been looking all over and nothing.

Brady: I've left three messages. I mean, I'm thinking I should go back to the mansion. Maybe he went back there for something and accidentally turned his phone off. I don't know.

Theresa: Yeah, go.

Brady: But then again, I want to see what Fynn said to Maggie.

Theresa: Well, somebody must have seen Victor leave. I mean, look, we should just-- wait, when you got here, when you went to go in to see Maggie, was Victor with her?

Summer: Yeah.

Brady: Did he-- did he say anything? Give any idea as to where he was going?

Summer: No, he just, uh... gave me this look and told me I was dirt.

Kate: Oh, my God. I am in complete shock about this. I-I--is he going to be okay? I mean, is he going to be all right?

Nicole: Kate, it's bad, okay? The pain was excruciating, and by the time they wheeled him out of here, he had completely blacked out.

Kate: So the prognosis is what?

Nicole: Do I look like a doctor? Hope is all we can do now. Okay, you are creeping me out. Put your eyes back in your head. Kate, this--I'm out of here. [Scoffs]

Theresa: Hey, look. The best thing you can do is just give Victor some room, okay? He can be a real hard-ass, but you know, when he sees that Brady trusts you, and Maggie trusts you--

[Phone rings]

Brady: Granddad, where the hell are you? I've left you, like, three messages.

Nicole: Brady, it's Nicole. I'm using Victor's phone.

Brady: Nicole. What's going on?

Nicole: I hate to be the one to tell you this, but Victor had a heart attack.

Brady: He had a heart attack?

Nicole: He couldn't breathe. He couldn't talk. It was awful.

Brady: Where are you? Are you with him right now?

Nicole: No, no, I got him in an ambulance fast as I could. He's in it now, on his way. Just get to the hospital, okay? I'll meet you there. Hurry up.

[Phone beeps]

[Phone beeps]

Theresa: Victor had a heart attack?

Brady: I got to tell Maggie.

Summer: [Exhales sharply]

[Dramatic music]

Kate: You want to tell me what just happened?

Deimos: I was just... surprised, seeing that woman. How long have you known her?

Kate: Too long, but I was asking about Victor. So you admitted that he was yelling at you. Is that when he had his heart attack? And did you leave him down here to die?

Deimos: Why would you think that?

Kate: Maybe because you stole everything from him and tried to kill his wife.

Deimos: He signed everything over to me, Kate. I didn't steal a thing.

Kate: Deimos, I heard you going at each other, so I will ask again. Is that when he had his heart attack?

Deimos: I have no doubt our quarrel caused his blood pressure to rise.

Kate: Just answer the question. He had a heart attack. Were you there? And then you walked upstairs, figuring that he would die while you had sex with his ex.

Deimos: My goodness. You make it sound so... gothic. The perfect revenge story.

Mm. Are you coming?

Kate: Are you going to the hospital?

Deimos: Why? I wouldn't be welcome there. And what am I going to do? Give blood? My brother and I are definitely not compatible.

[Somber music]

Maggie: Oh, hi.

Theresa: Hey.

Maggie: You been here long?

Theresa: Not very. Uh, but I had to see you.

Maggie: You do?

Theresa: Yeah, listen. I kind of need your advice about something.

Maggie: My advice? Now?

Theresa: Um, well, I mean, it's... you're kind of stuck in this bed. It's not like you're not going anywhere. You might as well help me, right?

Maggie: I, uh, okay. What kind of advice are you talking about?

Theresa: [Exhales sharply] Okay. So here's the thing. I am so in love with my fiancÚ that I can hardly stand it sometimes and he really loves his family. I mean, really loves the whole lot of them, especially his grandfather's wife, and she's this amazing person. She's kind, caring. She even helped me figure out how I could change my whole personality, so I could stop lying all the time, stop manipulating. And I actually ended up making myself happy for once, and, uh, somehow I managed to stay there thanks to her. But then, this amazing woman got taken to the hospital and now I'm just as worried and upset as my fiancÚ is, and, um, well, the thing is, is I have to figure out a way to tell her how much she means to me. She needs to know that she's my role model. Everything I do, I do because it's what she would want me to do, and I love her, and I am just rooting for her and I got nothing but positive thoughts 'cause she taught me how to have them. And, um, I just have to figure out a way to let her know that I am going to use all those thoughts and all that positive energy to help her get better.

Maggie: [Sighs] Well...

Theresa: [Chuckles]

Maggie: My advice to her would be to sit right there next to her and tell her exactly that.

Theresa: [Chuckles]

Maggie: Mm.

Deimos: You and Nicole seemed less than friendly. Has she always had that fiery temper?

Kate: Look at me. Did your quarrel with Victor ever get physical? Why can't you answer a simple question?

Deimos: I never laid a hand on him, Kate.

Kate: Okay, let me put this another way for the last time. Did you have anything to do with Victor's heart attack?

Deimos: You mean, did I inject him with something? No. It just happened. The heart wants what the heart wants, Kate. And in Victor's case, it obviously wanted to put him out of his misery.

Kate: Misery you caused.

Deimos: No, he brought it upon himself. But, yes, losing everything probably put him under a lot of pressure. Perhaps too much for the old man. Unfortunately, he won't have 30 years to suffer like I did.

Kate: Do you care if he dies?

Deimos: I'm not gonna shed a tear, no.

Kate: You are one cold bastard.

Deimos: I can be. Yes. But isn't that one of the things that attracted you to me? Come on, Kate. You're not gonna deny that, are you? And may I say, back atcha, sweetheart. I love it when those eyes turn to ice, almost as much as I love making them glow with pleasure.

Kate: No.

Deimos: What? Did I cross a line? Are we not allowed to admit why we're attracted to each other? That fine streak of cruelty? I guess not. Mm.

Kate: So, what was this nonsense with Nicole?

Deimos: She, um... she reminded me of someone.

Kate: Back in Greece?

Deimos: It's not important. What's important is that we're alone again, you and I. Come on. Come here.

Kate: I taught you a few bedroom lessons, right?

Deimos: Yes, you have.

Kate: Here's another lesson. No means no.

He stayed semi-conscious on the ride, generally unresponsive.

Fynn: Take him in there.

Brady: Fynn, how bad is he? How bad is he?

Fynn: I'll let you know as soon as I can. Okay?

Brady: [Sighs]

[Tense music]

Deimos: How about I take you to breakfast in the morning?

Kate: No, thanks. I have things to think about.

Deimos: Oh, come on, Kate. You're gonna sleep like a baby tonight. Nothing fazes you. Certainly not my being cold-hearted about Victor. If I had cried and forgave the old fool, promised to love him forever, you wouldn't have given me a second look.

Kate: [Sighs] Oh, Caroline. What are you doing here?

Caroline: I'm looking for Victor. Victor? Victor?

Kate: Caroline, he's-- he's in the hospital. He had a-- a heart attack, apparently.

Caroline: Right. How long ago?

Kate: I-I don't know.

Caroline: Oh.

Kate: You don't seem surprised.

Caroline: Well, he--he was in terrible pain. He was right there.

He's here, isn't he?

Kate: Who?

Caroline: Deimos. The devil. He is responsible for this. He's--for all of it.

Kate: I don't know what you're talking about.

Caroline: Oh.

You won't get away with this. I won't let you hurt him anymore. I'll drive you out of Salem if that's the last thing I do.

Deimos: Dream on, bitch. [Exhales]

Nicole: There was damage to her spine?

Brady: She and Victor came home after the party and apparently she fainted and fell down the stairs.

Nicole: Poor thing.

Summer: They're supposed to operate tomorrow.

Brady: Fynn's bringing in a special surgeon from LA.

Summer: Nicole, maybe you should sit down.

Nicole: No, I'm--I'm fine.

Summer: Well, then let me get you some tea. You look worn out. I should at least do something for somebody.

Nicole: It's been a hell of a night. No wonder Maggie wasn't home.

Brady: It's a night off for the servants. Monday. If you hadn't gone back to get your tablet, then there would have been no one there to help him.

Nicole: Right. Kate and that other guy sure didn't give a damn.

Brady: What?

Nicole: Kate was with this guy Damian. Said he was Victor's brother.

Brady: Deimos.

Nicole: Yeah. He creeped me out.

Brady: What the hell was he doing there?

Nicole: Well, apparently he was doing Kate in one of the upstairs bedrooms while Victor was in agony downstairs.

Brady: Son of a bitch. Son of a bitch.

Nicole: You know him, huh?

Brady: Oh, I know him. He's a piece of work, that guy.

Nicole: No kidding. When he found out his brother had a heart attack, he could have cared less, and all he did was ask me stupid questions. And his--his eyes.

Summer: His eyes?

Nicole: You don't see eyes like that every day. Cold. Pure evil.

Caroline: Doctor, please tell me that Victor's still alive.

Fynn: He is.

Caroline: [Sighs] And?

Fynn: If he doesn't have another coronary event in the next few hours, we'll just have to wait and see.

Caroline: Can I go in?

Fynn: Of course. Yes, but please. If he wakes up, try not to say anything that'll upset him.

Caroline: Well, I spent most of my life saying things that upset that man.

Fynn: But just for tonight, give him a break.

Caroline: Right.

[Somber music]

[Machinery beeping]

[Sighs] Don't you dare die on me, you son of a bitch, you. Don't you dare.

Maggie: Brady certainly gave you a lovely ring.

Theresa: Can't believe I lost it.

Maggie: I'm glad I found it.

Theresa: Me too.

Maggie: I'm so sorry I spoiled the surprise for everyone. Right when you were going to make your engagement announcement. That's just terrible timing.

Theresa: Yeah, well, you know, just promise never to do it again, and I guess I'll forgive you.

Maggie : Okay.

Brady: Hey.

Maggie: Hi, Brady. We were just admiring Theresa's ring. Nice.

Brady: Yeah, not too bad.

Maggie: Where, uh-- have you seen your grandfather? It's just like he's almost disappeared.

What? What's wrong?

Brady: Um, Maggie. I didn't want to have to tell you this right now, but, um, you need to know. Victor had a heart attack.

Maggie: What?

Brady: It--he's in the hospital. He's resting. But they won't know how much damage was done for a little while.

Maggie: No, no.

Brady: Okay, yeah. It's okay. No, he's fine--he's-- Maggie, he's here. We're praying for him just like we're praying for you, and we're here and we're not going anywhere. We're going to be here right with you.

Maggie: [Sobbing] Oh, no, oh, no, oh, no.

Brady: It's okay.

[Romantic melody]
