JJ: Ben hasn't cleared customs, and it doesn't look like he came into contact with his father, so he's probably still in the US somewhere.
JJ: And he left the psych ward without any cash or id, so he probably got as far as he hitchhiked. Now, if you could send the bloodhounds out--
Chad: Yeah, I already have. We got nothing.
JJ: So he could be anywhere. Chad, we can't keep this on the dl anymore. We need to warn my sister that he is out there before he shows up on her doorstep and-- I don't even want to think about what he might do.
Abigail: All right, I'm gonna check with Chad and see how he's doing on the music.
Jennifer: Okay. Ooh, oh.
Abigail: You okay?
Jennifer: Oh, yeah. My back is just... still a little bit sore.
Abigail: I thought you said you were doing better.
Jennifer: Yeah, I am.
Abigail: Uh, it doesn't seem like you're doing better, mom.
Jennifer: Honey, you don't really know how I'm feeling.
Abigail: No, I don't know how you're feeling, but I can tell that it's apparent you're not doing better, and, I mean, you have been a little distracted lately.
Jennifer: Distracted? I-I have not been distracted, and I really don't want you accusing me of that. In fact, I feel like I have been very present with you and Chad and the baby.
Abigail: Okay, Mom, let's just talk about this back thing, all right? Let's just talk about it. You're obviously still in pain. You're taking the pills. So have you--have you sought out a physical therapist or--
Jennifer: Honey, just because you work at a hospital does not mean you are some kind of medical expert. I do not need your advice.
Brady: How's it going?
Summer: Good. I've got a minibar, and I hear there's gonna be a mint on my pillow later this evening.
Brady: Yeah, that's true. That's true. Listen, I-I'm very sorry that Theresa didn't tell me she was going to send you to a hotel.
Summer: No worries. It's a lot nicer than my place in la.
Brady: Well, I'll cut right to the chase, summer. Um... I have news for you. Turns out Daniel had already run the DNA tests on you and Maggie, and obviously, he died before he could share the results with you, but I got them from the hospital.
Brady: I didn't want to open it until I was with you.
Summer: Thanks. But honestly, Brady, I'm not sure I want to know.
John: Hey, come on in.
Eduardo: Thanks, man. Thanks for seeing me on such short notice.
John: Yeah, sure, no problem. So what's--what's going on?
Eduardo: Well, I been doing some research, and I've come across a very interesting connection.
John: Yeah, between?
Eduardo: Victor Kiriakis' brother Deimos and Ilya Petrov.
Maggie: Victor? Where did you go?
Victor: I had something to take care of.
Maggie: Well, when you said you had something to take care of, I mean, that could mean trimming the hedges, or it could mean-- was it Deimos? Why aren't you telling me things? Don't you trust me?
Victor: Of course I trust you.
Maggie: Well, maybe you don't trust my love for you.
Victor: I waited to tell you about Deimos because I wasn't sure there was anything to worry about, and now there's certainly nothing to worry about.
Maggie: What did you do to him?
Victor: I did what I had to do.
Deimos: Thank you.
Kate: Deimos? What happened?
Abigail: Do I need to be worried about you?
Jennifer: No, honey, please. I'm--I'm--I'm fine. I am so sorry that I snapped at you like that. Please forgive me.
Abigail: Yeah, of course I forgive you, mom. It's just--it's not like you to snap at me, and--
Jennifer: No, I know.
Abigail: It's me, and--
Jennifer: I know. I'm just--you're right. I do. I feel a little edgy. My baby girl is getting married on Friday, and although I am so happy about that, it just makes me a little anxious, that's all.
Abigail: Well, I wish it wouldn't make you anxious--
Jennifer: Well, I wish it wouldn't either, but there's about 3,000 things to do between now and Friday, and I just feel--
Abigail: All right, okay. Look, mom, if you can't handle it, if it's too much for you--
Jennifer: No, no, I never said--honey, I never said I wasn't up for it.
Abigail: It's fine, mom.
Jennifer: I am perfectly capable of handling all of this and anything else that you want to throw at me, but I just feel like if you hover over me and don't have confidence in me-- and we're not doing any good just sitting here. We need to go. We need to stop sitting and--and--and get up and get to this thing. Come on.
Chad: I thought you decided you weren't gonna tell Abby.
JJ: Look, I didn't want her to flip out for no reason in case Ben was about to be caught. That's not happening. My sister needs to know to watch her back.
Chad: I'm watching her back, JJ. I have guards looking after her 24-7.
JJ: Does she know that?
Chad: Okay, look, I don't like lying to Abby either, okay? I just want her to have a great wedding.
JJ: It won't be much of a wedding day if she's dead, Chad.
Chad: Don't--don't ever say that again. You were the one that said that Ben wasn't stupid enough to come back here.
JJ: Yeah, but if he's not stupid enough, he's crazy enough. He still thinks Thomas is his kid. My sister deserves to know.
Chad: Look, look, I just have to get through Friday. Please. I don't want to ruin her wedding. Just promise me you will not say anything.
Gabi: Thank you so much for watching her.
Marlena: My pleasure. I adore spending time with her.
Gabi: Good, good, well-- oh, just so you know, heads up, she will throw a fit if you pass by the I-c-e c-r-e-a-m shop, just so you know.
Marlena: Um, oh.
Marlena: Not a problem, because we'll be stopping at the I-c-- the ice cream store.
Gabi: [Gasps] Ice cream.
Marlena: Yes, that's what I get to do for her.
Gabi: Thank you. Thank you so much. Uh, this meeting is not gonna take long at all. Where did you want me to pick her up?
Marlena: Well, I thought we would go to the park around the corner, hmm, play there. I brought some books and some toys for you to take home.
Gabi: Wow, thank you so much. That's very sweet of you.
Marlena: Call me anytime. I know that it's rough to be a single mom of a toddler. I'm just so sorry you have to go through this.
Gabi: You know, I, um-- I didn't have a father for pretty much my whole life, and I-I always felt that I had a big part of my life that was missing. Hey, she's gonna remember will, isn't she?
Marlena: Of course she is. We'll make sure she does.
John: How can there be a connection between Deimos Kiriakis and Petrov? Deimos has been in prison for 30 years, and Petrov has been dead since--
Eduardo: He's been dead since maybe never.
John: The hell you talking about? Kiriakis killed him.
Eduardo: Well, that's what he wants everybody to think, but I discovered that one of the shell corporations used to fund the agency was set up by Petrov.
John: What the hell?
John: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Hey, wait a minute. Wait, come on. What's going on here? You told me to lay off the agency; now you've turned around and you're going back investigating them? What's going on?
Eduardo: No, no, I wasn't investigating the agency. I was--I was investigating Deimos Kiriakis. Petrov's money was funneled into one of Deimos' investment accounts.
John: This is unbelievable.
Eduardo: But true.
John: Why were you researching Victor's brother?
Eduardo: Because of Kate Roberts.
Kate: Who did that to you? It was Victor, wasn't it?
Deimos: It's his idea of revenge for my revenge taking.
Kate: You still won't stop, though, will you?
Deimos: Are you kidding? I'm gonna wear this as a badge of honor.
Kate: [Sighs] Why don't you, uh-- why don't you let me take a look at that badge?
Deimos: There's nothing left to see.
Kate: Really? It could be infected.
Deimos: It's not.
Kate: Well, how do you know that? Is that your opinion, or is that the doctor's opinion?
Deimos: All right, look. I'll be fine, all right? Really. I'm taken care of.
Kate: By covering it up with a shirt. Come on. Let me at least bandage it.
I'll be gentle. I promise. Go ahead, sit on the bed.
Kate: Okay, it won't hurt. I promise.
Deimos: [Inhales sharply]
Kate: Almost done. Okay.
There you go. That wasn't so bad, right? [Sighs] Wh--[Grunts]
Summer: You know, I don't know if I'm ready for this. I'm either about to inherit an insta-family or find out that I'm all alone again. Not sure how I feel about either one.
Brady: Okay. Tell you what: I will leave the results right here, and you can look at them whenever you're ready...or not.
Summer: [Sighs] When I was little, I thought that I wanted to find my birth parents, and then I thought, "I'm all grown up. What do I need with a mother, and what does she need with me?"
Brady: You know, summer, I would give just about anything to have my mom. She died when I was a baby.
Summer: I'm sorry.
Brady: You're looking for peace, right? Maybe that will give it to you. Anyway, I'll--I'll leave you alone to think about it.
Summer: Wait. If I'm gonna open this envelope, I want you here with me.
Gabi: Hey, I'm sorry I'm late. I was trying to find a sitter for Ari.
Nicole: It's okay. Theresa and I were just talking strategy.
Gabi: Okay, about what?
Theresa: Well, we want you to leave Kate and, uh, basic black and come model for us.
Nicole: That's not the strategy we discussed, but...
Theresa: Well, subtlety has never been my strong suit... or yours. Anyway, now that that's out in the open, what do you think? I mean, what's it gonna take to lure you away?
Nicole: Not much, I bet. On a scale from one to ten on the crazy meter, has Kate hit 100 yet?
Gabi: Well, more like 1,000, but--and I would love to leave her. The thing is, Kate would kill me if she knew that I was even having a meeting with you guys. I'm under a contract, so...
Nicole: Contract. [Scoffs] Gabi, contracts were made to be broken. If you don't like what you're doing, then what is the point? Life is way too short.
Paul: Henry, hey.
Paul: How you doing?
Henry: Better. Better. Thank you again for your help the other night.
Paul: Yeah, well, I hope that you're gonna press charges against the kid who attacked you.
Henry: Uh, not worth it.
Paul: Why not?
Henry: Um, I drank too much. You know, gave Brian the wrong idea. I knew he was a jerk, and I-- I should've been more careful.
Paul: Don't you dare take the blame. What happened that night was not your fault.
John: So Deimos and Kate are involved? I thought the two of you were...
Eduardo: She felt that I was overly secretive. Which, of course, I am.
John: For good reason.
Eduardo: We were pretty much over before we began. But Philip shared some things with me about his uncle that were concerning.
John: So you're keeping an eye out for Kate.
Eduardo: Yeah, and I'm not liking what I'm finding so far.
Kate: Get off me!
Deimos: Oh, son of a--
Kate: If you pull out a whip, I'm gonna use it on you.
Deimos: Wait a minute. I thought you wanted to.
Kate: I did! But not like that.
Deimos: All right, all right, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to offend you. It was--
Kate: Do you know how much this blouse cost?
Deimos: You're right. You're right, okay? Again, I'm sorry. I don't know what I was thinking. I just got caught up in it.
Kate: Yeah, I suppose after 30 years in prison, you have a bit of a skew on romance. [Sighs] When you first got out, did you fall into bed with the girl next door? I don't think so.
Deimos: Is that what you are?
Kate: [Sighs] Hardly. You know, sometimes I wish I were. [Sighs]
Deimos: [Sighs] Kate. If I had to wait 30 years, it would be worth it to be with someone like you.
Gabi: There are thousands of models out there. Why--why do you guys want me?
Nicole: Because you're terrific at what you do.
Gabi: And you're sure this isn't about sticking it to Kate?
Theresa: Oh, well, I mean, that doesn't hurt, but it's not the main reason.
Nicole: Going to work every day shouldn't be miserable. At least, it doesn't have to be.
Gabi: Yeah, being a model used to be like living the dream, but now that I'm working full-time, it just feels like I'm a little bit burnt out.
Nicole: And are you sure that's it?
Gabi: Well, it's not exciting to have 18-hour days where I'm on 6 1/2 inch heels. I would love to go home and be with my daughter, and I would also like to have more than a piece of chicken and a leaf of lettuce for dinner.
Nicole: Well, you shouldn't be working 18-hour days.
Theresa: No, or starving yourself.
Nicole: No, and you know I modeled for years, right? I sure will not be bringing out the tape measure and a scale. I promise you that.
Theresa: And it's pretty hard to turn your back on a job that pays this well.
Gabi: Here's the thing, guys. Kate is Arianna's grandmother, okay? She would make my life miserable.
Nicole: Isn't she making your life miserable now?
Theresa: Gabi, what do you want?
Gabi: I wish I knew.
Paul: You hear me? It wasn't your fault. You have nothing to be ashamed of.
Henry: When that article came out about you--I mean, I'm no baseball fan. I think it's the most boring sport ever invented. No offense.
Paul: None taken.
Henry: Um, but when you came out and you had so much to lose, everybody called you a hero.
Paul: Not everyone.
Henry: Still. I mean, it almost gave me the guts to come out to my parents.
Henry: Well, I, um-- my dad's a minister. My mom directs the church choir, so...
Paul: I get it. You know, I never thought my family would accept me for who I was, but you know what my mom said when I told her? She said she'd known forever. Look, even if they don't embrace it, do you want to live a lie forever? Look, when you feel ready to tell them, if you need any more support, you let me know.
Henry: I will. Thanks. See you later.
Paul: [Voice mail beeps] Hey, , it's me. I was just thinking about you, wondering how you're doing. If you ever feel like talking, you call me, okay?
Summer: Oh, my God. It's true. Maggie is my mom. [Sighs]
Brady: Couldn't do any better. What do you want to do now?
Summer: [Sighs] Uh... maybe she, uh--she needs a little time to get to know me before I spring this on her.
Brady: Why? What are you talking about?
Summer: Her son just died. He was a doctor. He was perfect in her eyes, and then there's me. You introduce me now, what can you say? "This is summer. She hasn't done a single thing right in her life"?
Brady: That's--that's not true at all.
Summer: No, no?
Summer: But I'm trying, Brady. I just need to make a good first impression before I lay this on her.
Brady: Maggie is going to be thrilled. I promise you.
Summer: And I hope you're right, but this is my decision. This is going to change my life, and I need to do it my way.
Chad: Look. Look, I know you're worried about her. I am too, but I wouldn't be keeping this from Abby if I thought Ben was a real danger.
JJ: Yeah, 'cause I'm sure a couple of months in an institution completely cured him of his urge to murder people.
Chad: He's not a danger because he isn't gonna get anywhere near her. I will make sure of that. After everything she has been through, don't you--don't you think she deserves to have the wedding of her dreams? I do. I'm not gonna take that away from her, are you?
Abigail: Hey, guys.
Abigail: What's going on?
Victor: Well, Brady, what a surprise.
Brady: Is Maggie here?
Victor: No, she, uh-- she went shopping, which means we'll see her in a couple of hours or maybe a couple days.
Victor: How you doing?
Brady: Mm, I'm getting better every day.
Victor: Oh, good. And Tate?
Brady: I'll show you Tate. He's interesting. There, we have teeth, and we have attitude, and we have a sudden obsession with unrolling the toilet paper every time we turn our backs.
Victor: You used to do that.
Brady: You're making that up, right?
Victor: No, I'm not. You'd be amazed how powerful genes are. Listen, send me those pictures, will you? I want to frame one, put it on my desk.
Brady: Will do. Hope you're not gonna replace Philip's with one of them.
Victor: I thought you'd be pleased that Philip is history at Titan.
Brady: No, I'm not pleased. I'm not surprised, though. I knew he'd let you down sooner or later.
Victor: No more than you did.
Brady: You know, I'm not defending Philip, but maybe there's a reason why everybody disappoints you in the end.
Victor: And why is that?
Brady: [Sighs] Because you want everybody to see it your way, and when people fail to toe the line, you just say good-bye.
Victor: I disagree. I asked you back, didn't I? Have you had time to reconsider?
Marlena: I'm just so happy we get to have you with us. You remind me so much of your dad.
John: So what are you gonna do with this information?
Eduardo: Well, nothing yet. I've got to come up with something damning enough to open Kate's eyes. How about you?
John: Doc wants me to let it go, but to let this agency get away with what they've done, I'm having kind of a hard time with that.
Eduardo: You would be crazy, man. You'd be crazy to go after them by yourself.
John: Yeah, well, why would you bring me this information if you thought I was crazy? Unless you were having a hard time with it yourself and you want to bury them just as much as I do.
Eduardo: I am getting tired of looking over my shoulder-- I'll say that-- and at walking away from people I care about to keep them safe.
John: Well, Marlena thinks that they'll stop targeting us if I just leave well enough alone... but I think that no one's gonna be safe unless these people are stopped. You know, Eduardo, it seemed to me that this world was never gonna be safe until we were rid of Stefano DiMera, and now that we are, by God, I think anything's possible.
Eduardo: Oh, dude. Where would we start?
John: You know, I think you said it yourself. With Deimos Kiriakis.
Brady: I'm flattered that you're asking again, but the answer is still no.
Victor: Brady, don't be an idiot.
Brady: I've had plenty of time to think about what I want to do with my life, grandfather, and cutthroat acquisitions and mergers, they just don't appeal to me these days.
Victor: All right, I won't push it.
Maggie: Is this what it looks like?
Victor: I don't know. What's it look like?
Maggie: Ah, a civil conversation, hmm.
Brady: Aside from the fact that he called me an idiot a couple seconds ago, I think we understand each other.
Victor: Yes, we do. Listen, since he came to see you, I'm gonna make myself scarce.
Maggie: Okay. So what can I do for you?
Brady: As much as I hate to ask this of you, Maggie, I need a favor.
Deimos: [Inhales sharply] Oh.
Deimos: I almost forgot about it.
Kate: Don't suppose it can stay forgotten?
Deimos: Absolutely not.
Kate: Did you and Victor ever get along?
Deimos: No. He always seemed to follow our father's lead. Let's just say I was never the favored son.
Deimos: Apparently, it would've been better for both of them if I had never been born.
Kate: Well, I, for one, am very glad that you were born.
Deimos: You sure about that?
Kate: Yeah. You know, I understand. I understand your need for revenge. But you need to trust me when I tell you that it is not worth it. I know Victor better than you do, and all it's going to be is an endless cycle of retaliation and misery, and you're never going to get those 30 years back.
Deimos: I can't forgive him.
Kate: Then don't. You can hate him, but get revenge by living well. Turn your back on him. Let me help-- help you forget.
Jennifer: Anne Milbauer didn't make the cut?
Jennifer: Whoo, she's gonna be highly offended.
Abigail: Well, get this. She already sent our engagement present-- a melon baller. Yeah. [Chuckles]
Jennifer: Okay, well, we know what she can do with that. Okay, so that's it? That's everyone? Um, Chad, you don't have anyone you want to invite? I'm sorry. I didn't mean it like that. I-I just meant--
Chad: No, no, no, no. No worries. Um, apart from Theo, who's already on Abby's list, my family would do me proud by, uh, going completely unrepresented. All the family that I want or need is right here.
Jennifer: Okay, well, uh, I will call the guests for RSVPs and get going.
Abigail: Okay, are you sure you're not too busy, mom--
Jennifer: Honey, I am never, ever too busy for my baby girl or my son. Bye, honey.
Abigail: Bye, mom.
Jennifer: Bye, honey.
Chad: She's taking this all really well, hmm?
Abigail: Yeah, she is. Someone else isn't. JJ, what's the matter with you?
Abigail: Nothing? Come on, what's wrong? You're acting weird. What?
JJ: Weird how? I'm just, like, weirder than usual?
Chad: It's not weird. It's just, uh, he's-- he'd rather have, um, Godzilla for a brother-in-law than me, but, you know, we're working on it.
Abigail: JJ, you have not been able to lie to me since you were five. You're getting all fidgety and awkward, and you've been silent and pacing. Come on, I know you. Just tell me. What's going on?
Theresa: You know, Gabi, designing was my dream, but Kate made it feel like I was just assembling widgets in a factory without windows.
Nicole: And in my experience, the only person who enjoys working with Kate is Kate. Please, please do not let her steal your joy.
Theresa: Yeah, or your livelihood.
Nicole: Hey, Paul.
Nicole: I have a question for you. What's the hardest workday you've ever had, hmm? 12 hours doing bench presses and suicides that would kill most mortals, or is it a trip down the runway listening to Kate Roberts' voice echoing in your head?
Paul: Can I plead the fifth?
Theresa: No, but you know what? You could speak freely if you weren't under contract, and, uh, I mean, if you didn't work for Kate, so what do you think about that?
Nicole: We--we want you and Gabi to work for us.
Theresa: Mm-hmm. And if you're worried about your contracts, then we can--
Paul: No, no, Kate's broken the contract about 100 times. I mean, how many times has she asked you to find a sitter 'cause she wants you to work overtime? Uncompensated, of course.
Nicole: We're more professional than she is, I promise.
Theresa: And a lot nicer.
Paul: Well, that's not saying a heck of a lot.
Gabi: You know what? You guys, you've convinced me. Okay, you've convinced me, and I need a change in my life. That's if you could get me out of the contract.
Paul: Me too.
Theresa: Hmm, consider it done.
Nicole: Well, our contract is ironclad.
Nicole: We won't be letting you out, so you better be sure.
Gabi: Oh, I'm sure. I'm sure. I'm sure. You guys have always been great to me, and I would never repay you by stabbing you in the back.
Maggie: So what can I do for you?
Brady: Well, um, Daniel's friend summer has decided to come to Salem for a while.
Maggie: Summer? Ah, that woman you went to la to find.
Brady: Right, she--she doesn't really have many friends in la, so I convinced her to come back with me.
Brady: Be-because I think Daniel would've wanted it. Anyway, Maggie, she doesn't have a job, and I know you're looking for volunteers over at the hospital, so...
Maggie: It's not paying work.
Brady: I know. I know. She doesn't have much experience, so it would be a good foot in the door for her.
Maggie: She doesn't have much experience? Why not?
Brady: I'm not sure.
Maggie: Well, Brady, how much do you know about her? I mean, is she trustworthy? Because if she isn't, should I--
Brady: Maggie, Maggie, I-I-- I really want you to meet her. I think you're gonna like her a lot.
I've been living on the run yeah, happy to have the peace I found singing, it's all right it's all right, yeah it's all right with me mm, yeah it's all right it's all right, yeah it's all right with me it's all right with me
[Pounding on door]
It's all right with me
[Pounding on door]
JJ: Abs, um, I want you to have the wedding of your dreams, okay? But I care more about you having a happy life.
Abigail: JJ, I will.
JJ: And--and I-I-I got to admit he--he's got the last guy beat.
Abigail: Why would you even say that right now? What? JJ, first you're giving us your--your blessing, which you obviously didn't even mean...
JJ: No, no, I did.
Abigail: And now you're throwing Ben in my face? Wh-- Ben is completely out of all our lives, so that is so--
JJ: No, he isn't.
Chad: What he's trying to say is--
JJ: Abs, I'm--
Chad: Shut up!
JJ: I'm so sorry. I'm--I'm sorry to tell you this, but Ben escaped, and we have no idea where he is.
Abigail: [Sighs] Oh, my God.
JJ: We've been trying to track him down--
Chad: [Hisses] We think that Clyde is gonna try to smuggle Ben out of the country, okay? There's no way he would risk coming back here.
Abigail: What? Are you kidding me? This is exactly where he would come. How could you not tell me? How could both of you not tell me?
Chad: Because, babe, I didn't want it to ruin our wedding day.
Abigail: Well, it's a little late for that. We have to leave. We cannot stay here. We have to take Thomas, and we have to leave now. [Sighing]
Gabi: Hi, Marlena, it's me, Gabi. I'm here to pick up Ari, but I don't see you guys, so you're probably getting ice cream somewhere. Uh, call me when you get this. Okay.
Kate: You don't have to do this, you know.
Deimos: No, I insist.
Deimos: So what do you think?
Kate: Well, I like that one.
Kate: Then again, I think that one would even be more flattering.
Deimos: Well, if you ask me, they'd all be flattering on you. So I'll tell you what. Why pick and choose? We'll just get them all.
John: Oh, my God.
