Philip: Where'd you disappear to? I missed you.
Belle: [Scoffs] Liar. My guess is you made at least half a dozen phone calls since you hung up with Singapore.
Philip: Doesn't mean that I still couldn't miss you. Multi-tasking.
Belle: Mm. Well, I just spent the last hour at the blackjack table.
Belle: And I lost, but who cares? I just charged the chips to the room.
Philip: Meaning, in effect, that Victor takes the loss.
Belle: Well, yeah. That's what he gets for giving you grief about bringing me along with you.
Philip: He totally deserves it, I agree.
Belle: Mm-hmm, but tomorrow it's back to Salem-- back to reality.
Philip: Or we could just stay right here.
Jennifer: Oh, my God.
Abigail: [Gasps] What?
Jennifer: Oh, my goodness.
Abigail: That was crazy. We didn't even see that coming.
Jennifer: That was crazy. What's even crazier is that we have been sitting here for three hours.
Abigail: I know. Isn't that amazing?
Abigail: It's called binge watching. We should start season two.
Jennifer: Oh, it's terrible. No, we can't.
Abigail: No, we have to. What?
Jennifer: I'm gonna go upstairs, I'm gonna lie in my bed.
Abigail: Oh, here, let me help you. How's your back?
Jennifer: Oh, I keep having these little spasms, but I'm just gonna lie down.
Abigail: Maybe you should take another pain pill.
Jennifer: Yeah. I will. I will, what about you? Are you gonna stay up?
Abigail: Um, yeah. Yeah, I am. I'm hoping that Chad's gonna call me before he goes to bed.
André: Hope came by here to confront father, and she killed him. How the hell does that not compute with you?
Chad: Because it doesn't make any sense. How'd she get by the guards?
André: Oh, she probably snuck by them, that's wha--how. Look.
Blood. Well, for God's sake, do you see it or don't you see it?
Chad: There's hardly anything to see. Maybe the maid cut herself.
André: No, the maid did not cut herself. [Scoffs] I had her tested.
Chad: Tested? When? How?
André: Oh, what the hell difference does it make? That's father's blood. Explain it.
Ciara: You've been on the same page for hours. I'm all the way through the French revolution. Marie Antoinette still had her head when you started.
Hope: I guess I just can't get into this one.
Ciara: That's because you're reading a murder mystery. Haven't you had your fill of those?
André: Chad, our father's vanished. We haven't heard a word from him in days. Don't you think we owe it to ourselves, if not to him, to find out in God's name what happened to him? The man may have been murdered. We just can't sit around and just twiddle our damn thumbs! Look, I know how you feel about family.
Chad: No. No, you don't. And for God's sake, it's not like this is the first time Stefano DiMera's blood has been spilled in this room, and I'm sure it will not be the last. What the hell? You find the tiniest bit of dried blood and you start to panic? Thought you were made of tougher stuff than that, André. Father would not be impressed. Here.
André: Oh-- so... you don't give a damn, do you? You'd just... prefer it if our-- if my father was dead, wouldn't you?
Belle: [Chuckles] You want to stay here, with me, in Las Vegas?
Philip: I do.
Belle: [Laughs] You mean, like, forever? So we just buy this hotel room, we move in, and play blackjack forever, and-- [Gasps] Oh, Cirque du Soleil.
Philip: Okay, I do think we'd get sick of the glitz all the time, the Vegas daytime hangover vibe, so maybe Vegas isn't a good long term prospect, but who says we have to go back to Salem? We have the jet. We could go anywhere.
Philip: Extend our trip a little longer... or a lot longer.
Belle: Well, since you seem to be somewhat serious, Philip, I have a daughter. You and I have jobs in Salem.
Philip: True, and--and I appreciate your practicality. But belle, I haven't felt this good in years. And you can't tell me that you haven't had a whole lot of fun, that it hasn't been really great and freeing to forget everything and concentrate on the next kiss instead of the next problem or the next deal or the next case. I know it's crazy. But what if it's not?
Chad: Your father?
André: Well, you certainly aren't behaving as if he's yours as well.
Chad: I'm out of here.
André: Oh, just hold it just for a minute, will you? Just listen to me, damn it. Hope blames father for Bo's death. She's certainly hell-bent on revenge.
Chad: But it's still hope Brady. She doesn't kill people, she arrests them!
André: Hope Brady is a woman who's mired in grief. She lost the love of her life, and prior to that, the man she married tried to murder her. Everybody has a breaking point. Obviously, she reached hers. It's bound to happen. And as far as father planning some kind of an escape, I get that, but there's nothing to support it, and the plane he allegedly flew to Paris was chartered by a company he'd never used before.
Chad: But that doesn't mean anything.
André: Of course it does, damn it! Think! Do you really think father would be so reckless as to put an escape plan in the hands of someone he didn't know or trust? And then add to that the blood on this statue, and you know how particular our father was about his chess game, that that chess piece was on the wrong square!
Chad: Stop, stop, stop! You think this proves your insane theory! It doesn't! Father is alive, damn it, okay? He's--he's coming back. He's coming--
Ciara: Mom, are you still thinking about Rafe?
Hope: I thought you were gonna text everybody about the kickback tomorrow night.
Ciara: Uh, yeah. I'll do that now. Good night, mom.
Hope: Night, sweetheart. Love you.
Ciara: Love you too.
[Yelling and explosions]
[Clicks TV off]
Chad: Hey, did I wake you?
Abigail: Uh, no. No, not at all, I've just been looking at houses online, actually. Found a couple of really good possibilities.
Chad: Can't wait to see.
Abigail: Then you should come by right now, say good night in person.
Chad: Mm, I would-- I would love to, but I have to take care of something. See you first thing in the morning, okay?
Abigail: Is everything okay?
Chad: It will be. Look, sleep well, okay?
Abigail: Uh, you too.
Belle: You're really serious, aren't you?
Philip: You mean that I think we could have something really good going here? Sure. I think it's highly possible, if not very likely.
Belle: Well, even if you do come to that conclusion-- prematurely and presumptuously, I might add-- I don't get why you think we'd need to leave Salem behind.
Philip: Well, I'm just-- [Clears throat] Trying to entice you into thinking about a new and exciting life with me. Hey, I'm a born salesman, you know that, subtlety has never been my strong suit.
Belle: Well, you were pretty subtle when you invited me to Vegas a few days ago. You made it sound like a lark. Take it or leave it, casual, casual, fun, fun, ha, ha.
Philip: But since we got here, things have gotten a little less casual. No? Not so ha, ha, ha?
Belle: Philip, I just-- I'm not ready for that.
Philip: I know, I know. Say-- say no more, I know.
Belle: You know what?
Philip: It's too soon, right?
[Knock at door]
Chad: Hi, I'm so sorry to bother you so late. I really should've called.
Hope: No, no, it's fine. Come in, I'm sorry.
Chad: Uh, okay. Uh, hope, I'm here to warn you. My--my brother is gunning for you because he is convinced that you killed our father.
Hope: I know that. He spoke to me about it.
Chad: Well, André is digging for proof, and as we both know, he doesn't need an airtight case to seek revenge. I'm willing to run interference with him if you tell me that he's wrong. You know, if you tell me that you had absolutely nothing to do with our father's disappearance.
Belle: You know, I would sound like a hypocrite if I sat here and said it was too soon, considering everything that just happened between you and me.
Philip: Well, should we make it happen again? Don't you think that me coming back to town around the same time that you became free-- don't you think that could be destiny?
Belle: Okay, now you're scaring me.
Philip: Sorry, I was going for romantic.
Belle: [Laughs] No, but I mean, destiny? Really? I think the whole notion is kind of a myth.
Philip: So you don't think that there's one person out there that you're supposed to be with?
Belle: No, I don't. If I thought that, I wouldn't have made the mistakes that I made with Shawn, but--
Philip: But what?
Belle: There was just an emptiness when I was with him. I turned away to fill it.
Philip: Maybe he just wasn't the right one for you. And maybe this time you've turned to the one who is.
Belle: We have early flights tomorrow. We should pack.
Hope: André's suspicions? Baseless.
Chad: Then I won't take up any more of your time. Just be careful.
Ciara: What was he doing here?
Hope: How much did you hear?
Ciara: Enough. What's going on, mom?
Hope: Stefano DiMera, he's missing. André thinks I'm responsible.
Ciara: Like you kidnapped him?
Hope: Something like that.
Ciara: Which is why you've been on edge all night.
Ciara: How bad is it? What's André gonna do? How scared should we be?
Hope: Nothing is going to happen to this family, I promise. I promise you. It's a promise I plan on keeping.
Stefano: [Voice echoing] You are powerless. You are defeated. You are a joke.
Hope: Am I?
Stefano: Predictable to the very end. You are, at heart, a coward. Just like that banal, dead husband of yours. May he rest in peace.
Hope: [Screams] [Breathing heavily]
André: The last time I saw father, he had a late night visitor.
Hope: André's suspicions?
André: Hope Brady.
Chad: You think she killed him?
André: Hope Brady.
Hope: André's suspicions? Baseless.
Chad: This is over. Sami won, I think we should move on.
Stefano: I agree, I'm-- look, worrying about the past takes just too much energy. You understand what I'm saying?
Chad: Nice house, it's just full of bad memories. Looks like blood.
André: The last time I saw father, he had a late night visitor--hope Brady.
Chad: You think she killed him?
Hope: André's suspicions? Baseless.
André: You'd just prefer it if our-- if my father was dead, wouldn't you? Father was dead.
Philip: Why does bringing you home make me feel like I'm a kid again?
Belle: [Chuckles] Relax, my parents had an early start. We're alone.
Philip: Well, in that case--
Belle: Mmm. [Chuckles] I did have a good time.
Philip: As did I. To be continued.
Belle: [Laughs] [Sighs]
[Knock at door]
Shawn: You said we could talk.
Belle: I did. I just got home. Were you parked outside waiting for me?
Shawn: Does it matter? I'm here now, trying to figure out how you could go back to Philip, of all people.
Chad: So you ready to show me that dream house?
Abigail: Um, yes. I mean, I didn't find our dream house exactly, but I found a few good possibilities, and it's just been so much fun looking. Can't wait till we're all under one roof.
Chad: Me too.
Jennifer: Good morning. Hey, hi.
Chad: Oh. Good morning.
Chad: Are you feeling any better?
Jennifer: Uh, yeah, not too much pain right now, just kind of groggy.
Chad: Well, how about this, why don't Abigail and I go get you some breakfast, maybe an espresso?
Jennifer: Ooh, that sounds good.
Jennifer: Yeah, and the best medicine would be to stay here with my little grandson.
Abigail: Are you sure it's not gonna be too much for you with--
Jennifer: No, not at all. I'm good--good.
Jennifer: Don't forget that coffee.
Chad: Absolutely not.
Jennifer: Thank you.
Chad: Okay, we'll--
Chad: See you in a bit.
Jennifer: Okay. Thank you again.
Chad: It's okay.
Abigail: Okay, we'll be back.
Jennifer: All right.
Chad: Hey. Should we be worried about your mom?
Abigail: Oh, well, I told her if there's no improvement, then we'll go back to the doctor tomorrow.
Abigail: But I am worried about you.
Abigail: I don't know, I just felt like you've been a little distant. Last night on the phone and today, I just feel like-- I don't know, feels like you're somewhere else.
Chad: No, I am right here where I belong, with the woman I love.
Chase: I say we go full-fledged "star wars"--
Ciara: Hey, shh.
Chase: Like, "star wars" marathon.
Ciara: Who said we were watching movies?
Chase: I mean not watch, but we could, like, project it up on the wall for, like, atmosphere. There's a projection app.
Ciara: Yeah, I think we can agree to leave the details to me. Hey--hey, I'm gonna catch up with you later, okay? I need to ask my mom a question about some food at the party.
Chase: Okay. Yeah, I'll see you at school.
Ciara: Yeah. Hey, Mom?
Ciara: You spent the night here?
Hope: I guess I--I fell asleep reading my book.
Ciara: Hey, what you said last night about André DiMera-- you're on high alert, I can tell.
Ciara: And what they did to dad, I mean, we can't live like this.
Hope: You're right. You're right, we can't, and last night I was thinking about what we need to do.
Ciara: What do you mean, "what we need to do"?
Hope: I think it's best that you and chase leave town for a little while, while I get things settled. You can stay with aunt Marie for a while.
Ciara: No, we're not leaving without you.
Hope: Ciara-- all right. We'll all go then.
Ciara: And Rafe. I want him to come with us.
André: Scour every inch of Paris, his favorite haunts. Anything?
Chad showed up on Hope Brady's doorstep at approximately 11:15-- stayed for five minutes.
André: Very well. When she goes, I want you to search the house.
Rafe has been going to work as usual.
André: I pay you so you can tell me something interesting.
Excuse me, sir, but you haven't paid us for the last two weeks.
André: I don't want to discuss that now! Tell me something about Rafe.
He's taken the long way home the last two nights. It adds an extra 30 minutes to his commute.
André: Why would he do that? Does he make any stops?
No, but he slowed down around mile marker 15 last night. Then he picked up speed and kept going.
Belle: You know, when you sent divorce papers, you basically forfeited your right to ask me about Philip or anyone else for that matter. You know? You gave up on us. You went back to Maine, and now the second I'm in Vegas with Philip, you start calling and talking about reconciliation? I mean, I'm sorry, but, I think you're the one that has some explaining to do.
Shawn: You're right, I do. And I'll start by admitting that I'm just as much to blame for our marriage falling apart as you are. I made you feel like it was completely your fault, but it wasn't. I abandoned you emotionally. I focused on my career. I pushed you away. And that's when you went off looking for what was missing.
Philip: The Japanese shareholders are pleased with the bond sale. I had to do some finessing with the rest.
Victor: I'm glad you could fit it in between the slot machines and Cirque du Soleil.
Philip: What's that supposed to mean?
Victor: You were late for a couple of meetings. I assume you were distracted because of your traveling companion-- proof positive that taking her along was a mistake.
Philip: You were keeping tabs on me. I was late because the conference call ran long. Now, I checked off every box on this list you asked for and more. I'm killing it, and I still come back to this. Are you really this upset that I brought belle with me, or is it more than that? Have I failed you somehow, father? Have I given you some reason to doubt me and my loyalty to you?
Victor: This has nothing to do with you, son. I mean, losing Bo, and now Daniel... Deimos is back in town when I thought I'd gotten him out of my life for good. I don't doubt you at all, Philip. I know that you're loyal, and that's very important to me. What I need right now is for you to keep your eye on the Titan ball, especially since Deimos is back in town. We're gonna have to be extra careful.
Philip: Of course. What's this?
Victor: It's a deal I've been working on. I trust you to take care of it.
Abigail: I wish we could just take the kitchen from the French colonial and put it in this one. Or maybe we could put a helipad behind the pool.
Chad: Yeah, that'd be awesome.
Abigail: Chad! You're not even listening to anything I'm saying. I knew you weren'T. Just tell me what's going on. I know something's up, so what? What?
Chad: [Laughs] It's André. You know, he's convinced that hope went after our father, and maybe even killed him.
Abigail: Hope? That's insane.
Chad: Well, yeah, that's what he thinks.
Abigail: Or maybe it's just a ruse.
Chad: For what?
Abigail: [Chuckles] To pull you back into the-- into the family, it's--
Chad: Yeah, I know, I thought about that, but-- it's just--it's the timing. My father has disappeared before, but he comes back. This time... this time--
Hope: No. Rafe can't come with us. Why would you even suggest that?
Ciara: Because you seem happier when he's around.
Hope: You know what, that is wishful thinking on your part, and you know, honey, I appreciate that you want to see me happy, but the only thing that I am interested in right now is protecting you and chase. So it'll only be the three of us going out of town-- you, me and chase. End of story.
André: Hmm. Mile marker 15. An abandoned warehouse. Okay, rafe. What the hell are you hiding?
Shawn: I hope that what I said-- I hope that it's a start for us.
Belle: Shawn, I just-- I just can't move too quickly, okay, I don't really know what I want.
Shawn: What, is this about philip? Am I wasting my time here?
Belle: I'm just exhausted, so I'm gonna go take a nap. Let's talk about this later, okay?
Shawn: Fine. Later.
Deimos: How was your trip?
Philip: Let's skip the pleasantries. I want out. What the hell you smiling about? I won't betray my father anymore. I shouldn't have ever started down this road with you in the first place.
Deimos: I'm sure you know this, philip. There's no out here. You're in this to the end. You and I are gonna take down my brother--your father-- and we're doing this together.
Victor: Send your proposal to my son. I'm stepping back and putting philip in charge. He has my complete faith.
Ciara: Hey, rafe, it's ciara. Can you come to my house right now? Mom and I have to talk to you about something. Cool.
Jennifer: Just fell asleep, bless his heart. And honey, I just--I left him in the bassinet, just because I figured you'd take him upstairs.
Abigail: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, that's fine, so--
Jennifer: Did you find your dream house?
Abigail: No, not exactly, but we found some really good possibilities, and you know, it's good that we just know what we don't want.
[Dramatic music] You okay? Your back still hurts?
Jennifer: Oh, gosh, yeah. I took, like, a half of the pain pill, but it just hasn't kicked in yet, but it's all right. I'll be okay. Thank you.
Chad: You sure?
Jennifer: Yeah, thanks. Okay.
Abigail: Is everything okay? You all right?
Chad: I'm better.
Abigail: I'm gonna check with my mom, see if she needs help with anything. Just, will you keep an eye on thomas?
Chad: You got it.
[Phone ringing] Yeah?
André: I need you to get over here right away. I'm at 248 hudson. It's a warehouse just off route 43.
Chad: It's not a good time.
André: What? You don't want to find out how idiotically naive you've been and how dead wrong you've been about father and hope? Get your ass over here!
