Provided By Suzanne
Kayla: I am gonna kill you.
Rafe: Well, now that the case is closed, I don't know what I'm gonna do with all my free time.
Lani: Actually, I have an idea.
Abe: Well, hey.
Rafe: Mr. Mayor.
Abe: Yeah, so case closed, huh?
Rafe: Yeah, looks like.
Lani: Bingo to bango to bilko.
Theo: Ernie banks to gene baker to Steve bilko. Ask me something hard.
Lani: Okay, last cub to hit for the cycle.
Theo: Mark grace, 1993.
Theo: The padres.
Lani: You know what? I just give up with you. I'm done. I'm done. Good job.
Rafe: Those two seem to get along well.
Abe: Yeah, they met at the wedding. You know, with all the delays, Theo was impatient, agitated, but she was great with him. She knows almost as much baseball as he does.
Abe: So how do you like her?
Rafe: Oh, it's going well. Very low-maintenance, which is good with a partner.
Abe: How do you like her as a person?
Rafe: As a person? Why am I getting the feeling that this is more than a professional curiosity?
Ciara: Hey. There you guys are. I've been calling everyone looking all over for you. Are you guys hungry? I got lunch stuff.
Hope: Actually, you know what, sweetie? I'm a little tired. I'm gonna go upstairs and lie down for a while.
Ciara: Don't you think you should go with her? She shouldn't be alone up there.
Bo: Your mom said she wanted some time. It's her call.
Ciara: Dad, don't be like that. It's obvious that you and mom belong together.
Steve: Hey, hey. Don't go.
Kayla: How stupid do you think I am?
Kayla: All these mysterious texts. It was you the whole time, wasn't it? You're just trying to reel me in.
Kayla: Oh, come on. Do you really think that you can just order up all this-- this prepackaged romantic crap and all the years are just gonna--just gonna melt away? This is not funny.
Steve: No, it's not funny, but you're kind of funny.
Steve: Come on, Kayla. Think about it. I mean, who knows better than me that this prepackaged romantic crap doesn't work on you? You can't be reeled in. I didn't do this. I didn't send myself all those texts or this latest one. Huh? And I didn't write myself this note. "Very romantic, isn't it?"
Kayla: Then we're back where we started. If you didn't do it, who did?
Joey: Could you hurry it up with the java?
Caroline: That's my table, my tips.
Joey: Good to be back.
Caroline: Really good.
Joey: Okay, now we're gonna talk.
Joey: What the hell do you think you're doing?
Caroline: Don't swear at your grandmother.
Joey: What the heck do you think you're doing? Grandma, you just got out of the hospital. Bo is back, and you're trying to run this place on your own.
Caroline: Pete came down with something, and I couldn't find a replacement.
Joey: Just close the place down for a day.
Caroline: Oh, go wash your mouth out with soap.
Joey: Looks like I'm gonna be Pete's replacement. But those are my tips.
Ciara: You know I'm not a little girl anymore, right, dad?
Bo: Yeah, yeah, I did notice that.
Ciara: You can talk to me instead of just walking away.
Bo: Oh, no, I'm not-- I'm sorry. I don't mean to just walk away. I'm still a bit blown away by how grown up and mature you are... and how much I-- how much I missed.
Ciara: Well, move back in so you don't have to miss any more. We really need you, daddy.
Bo: Been a long time since I've heard "daddy" too.
Ciara: Well, I'll call you that all the time if you just move back in.
Bo: With what's--what your mom went through--look, I will do anything and everything I have to to put this family back together, but it's not gonna be simple.
Ciara: I don't want to hear that. It is simple. I mean, you're back, and we're safe, and we're gonna live happily ever after.
Lani: We're both crazy, you know that? It's November, and we're looking at seats for next April. Hey. We're just scoping out tickets for opening day.
Abe: Well, maybe you can finish that up later. Theo, we should let officer price get back to work.
Theo: She said I could call her Lani. Bye.
Lani: Bye, Theo.
Lani: Was Abe busting my chops? Did he think I was goofing off?
Rafe: No. I think he was rescuing you. Theo gets a little weird with the baseball.
Lani: Yeah, you may have noticed, so do I. Anyways, you were talking about what to do with your free time. Did you see there's an a cappella competition at Salem u? All show tunes.
Rafe: All show tunes? Wow. Sorry, I'm not really into a cappella.
Lani: Oh, and the bulls are playing the pistons.
Lani: I'll drive.
Kayla: Oh, right. I go from telling my brother that he is gonna die to calling up the concierge and planning up this whole thing here. I--I...
Steve: No, come here, baby.
Kayla: No, no, no.
Steve: You know, we're both going through this. Bo is like a brother to me too.
Kayla: So, what, did you think that this would take my mind off of it or something?
Kayla: Well, you know what? I got my own text. It told me to come here and all my questions would be answered. So no, I was not planning to seduce you here at the Salem inn.
Steve: Well, I didn't really think that anyway. I guess I was just hoping against hope.
Kayla: Don't hold your breath.
Steve: Okay. So if I didn't do this and you didn't do this, who did?
Kayla: I guess let's let the games begin.
Steve: Well, whoever is behind this is not on a budget.
Kayla: That's the champagne that we served at our wedding.
Steve: They must have known that we would figure this out.
Kayla: Of course they'd know. That's the whole point, isn't it? For them to know that there is somebody out there, somebody trying to get us?
Steve: Well, at least they're not going after our son.
Kayla: I can't take it. I can't take any more of this.
Kayla: What the hell are you doing?
Steve: I think we could both use a drink. Don't you, sweetness?
Kayla: Are you out of your mind?
Ciara: I just figured something out. You don't want to move back in because you know you're gonna be taking off again.
Bo: What? No.
Ciara: You promise?
Bo: I pr--baby, I p-- I'm--I am not going anywhere. You and your mom mean everything to me. Everything I want in the world is right here in this house.
Ciara: Then why are you acting so weird? 'Cause you think mom doesn't want you back? I mean, come on, dad. Like, give her a day or two. She hasn't exactly had a great week.
Bo: Yeah. You look after your mom, don't you?
Ciara: I try.
Bo: Good. Well, you keep doing that.
Ciara: Oh, you know what? I forgot. I got to go somewhere. Hey, while I'm gone, why don't you and mom, like-- I don't know--not be so dumb?
Hope: No, you son of a bitch.
Hope: How dare you?
Hope: You bastard!
Bo: Hey! Whoa. Hey, what-- no, no, no, no.
Hope: Leave me alone. Let go of me.
Bo: It's all right. It's all right.
Hope: I want it shredded. I want it gone.
Bo: I know. I know. Stop.
Hope: I want it gone!
Bo: I know.
Hope: No, you don't. You don't know.
Bo: It's okay.
Hope: I was so stupid.
Bo: No, no. He was a psychopath. He fooled everybody. Just--it's okay. Give yourself some time.
Hope: It's not just the dress, Bo. It's everything. He's touched everything in this house.
Bo: It's okay.
Hope: He's still here.
Hope: Yes, he is.
Bo: No, no, he's gone. He will never, ever hurt you again. It's okay. It's okay.
Hope: I don't think I can live here anymore. I can't. I can't live here anymore.
Steve: Wow. Do you know how much this stuff costs?
Kayla: Who cares? What they did to Joey-- you don't know what's in that champagne.
Steve: Well, the cork was sealed.
Kayla: Of course it was. They're not amateurs. Listen to me. Listen to me. "They, they." I just hate that, and I hate that you have brought this back into my life and our kids' lives, and...
Steve: Oh, sweetness, I know. I'm so sorry. I'm sorry, okay?
Kayla: Oh, dear God.
Kayla: This is how it is, isn't it? You comfort me, you make me feel safe, and one thing leads to another, and... this is you, isn't it?
Rafe: We've been through this before, and I still think that the two of us going out together is not really a good idea. And especially now, since Abe just brought up a really good point, which is that hope's gonna be out. I don't know for how long, and so we really need to lean on you, and so we need to keep our relationship strictly professional.
Lani: I mean, I don't see why two professionals can't go to a bulls game together.
Rafe: Well, because it sounds like a date.
Lani: I didn't mean it like that.
Lani: But I get it. You're worried about appearances. Forget I asked.
Rafe: Asked what?
Abe: What do you think about Lani?
Theo: I like her.
Abe: Just because she knows a lot about baseball?
Theo: No. Because she laughs at my jokes, and it's not a pretend laugh, either.
Abe: [Laughs] Well, good. I'm glad you feel that way. Theo... there's something-- there's something I have to tell you, something--something important. Son, Lani-- Lani is your sister.
Bo: Hey, that-- that dress is gone. You'll never see it again.
Hope: Thank you.
Bo: This is our house, fancy face... where we raised our kids, where you made so many memories for them. I think you should stay and fight. Fight to make this home yours again.
Hope: I'm so tired, Bo.
Bo: I know. I know. But you don't have to fight alone. You have family: Shawn, Ciara, Doug, Julie.
Hope: And you? Do I have you?
Bo: You will always, always have me. I fought through everything they threw at me to get back to you, hope. I love you so much.
Hope: Then why did I get the feeling you didn't want me anymore, that you didn't want us anymore?
Bo: Didn't want you or-- hope, I want you, I want us, for as long as I live. You're the love of my life, always a part of my heart.
Hope: I can handle anything as long as I know you love me, Brady. Anything.
Bo: I do love you, more than you know.
Hope: [Laughs] (Woman) one year ago today mom started searching for her words.
Steve: Kayla, do you really think I would do that? Knowing what you're going through, knowing that your brother is dying-- you think I would do that?
Kayla: No. I'm just--I'm just so scared.
Steve: I know, baby.
Kayla: I'm scared for my brother. I'm scared for my kids. Just...
Steve: And I brought all this back into your life.
Kayla: But you also brought my brother back. And he could have died out there alone, and I would have never known what happened to him.
Theo: Mom had another baby?
Abe: No. No, no, no. Lani's mother was someone I knew a long time ago, before I even met your mother. Her name was Tamara. Look, um... Theo, sometimes when we find out something that's big like this... at first--at first, we don't know how we feel. Hey, look, why don't we-- why don't we get a cup of hot chocolate and talk about it, huh?
Theo: Actually, I want to go walk-- alone-- and think.
Abe: Okay. Okay. Hey, want to say--say good-bye to Lani?
Lani: You told him? Yeah. It doesn't look like it made him very happy.
Abe: Wait. Just wait and see.
Look at this, huh guy?
I love you, fancy face.
Steve: No hidden cameras, no recording devices.
Kayla: Just roses and champagne. You know, the texts that got us here and that note... I mean, they weren't exactly menacing. Do you think maybe they're not even related to this?
Steve: Yeah, you mean like a little anonymous matchmaking?
Kayla: I don't know. Just a thought.
Steve: You could be right. But those other texts, those-- I don't think those were benign. We have to find out who sent them and why.
Theo: So you're really okay?
Joey: My mom wouldn't have let me out of the hospital if she was not 100% sure of that. Hey, look, Theo. Thank you. I owe you one.
Theo: Lani helped too.
Joey: Yeah. She can help me anytime she likes.
Theo: Joey, do you like having a sister?
Theo: Stephanie, are you glad she's your sister?
Joey: I guess it's okay.
Theo: You don't like her?
Joey: She's fine. I mean, she's my sister, you know? No, I guess you don't know. Sorry.
Theo: But I will. Joey, my dad just told me that Lani is my older sister.
Joey: Man, you got one good-looking sister.
Theo: Don't talk about her like that.
Joey: Theo, it's not an insult. But why did you ask me about Steph? Are you upset that she's gonna be your sister?
Bo: Hey, Rafe.
Rafe: Hey. How's it going? How's hope?
Bo: That's what I wanted to talk to you about. Can we talk in there?
Rafe: Yeah, sure. Come on.
Bo: Thanks, man.
Rafe: Yeah. So what's up?
Bo: You know how difficult it is to come back from an attack, and what happened with hope is even worse 'cause, you know, she loved the guy and married him, so it's gonna be a long, difficult road to recovery for her.
Rafe: Yeah. Well, I think it'll be shorter and smoother now that you're back.
Bo: Yeah, well, that's the thing. I'm not gonna be around all that long.
Rafe: Wait. What do you mean, you're not gonna be around? What, you just came back in town to play hero and then you're gonna bail out on hope again? Is that it?
Bo: No, I do not want to leave my wife. Believe me, I don't want to go anywhere. I'm dying.
Theo: I know Lani's nice, but it's new having a sister. It's different.
Joey: And you don't like new things, different things, and I get it. I mean--I mean, Steph's always been my sister, you know? It's like air and trees and TV. She's just there. But, you know, you didn't know Lani, and, like, out of the blue...
Theo: My dad, he wants me to be happy about it.
Joey: And you don't know if you are.
Ciara: Hey, guys.
Joey: Ciara, what a surprise. You were shopping. You sure don't back off that material girl thing.
Ciara: I was shopping for my mother.
Theo: I think it's nice that you got your mom a present. I miss my mom.
Joey: I know.
Ciara: I'm sorry. I shouldn't have talked about my mom.
Theo: No, it's okay. I mean, you didn't have a dad for a long time, but I did. You have a mom. I don't. Family comes and goes, I guess.
Ciara: What does that mean?
Joey: It's okay, Theo. You can tell her.
Theo: You tell her.
Ciara: Tell me what?
Joey: Theo just found out that he has a sister.
Ciara: Theo, oh, my God. That's amazing. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that.
Theo: No, it's okay, Ciara. Really.
Steve: Kayla, I want you to listen to me. You need to deal with the situation with Bo. I don't want you to worry about any of the rest of this. I'll take care of it. As if you'd ever stop worrying, right?
Kayla: Well, this isn't the first time you told me to stop worrying and that you would take care of it. And usually I was right to worry.
Steve: Yeah, but usually everything turned out okay, right? And it wasn't boring.
Kayla: No. It was never boring. Don't drink the champagne until we get it tested.
Steve: Oh, my way's easier. And what's life without a little risk, huh? To you, sweetness.
Kayla: Don't drink it. It's crazy.
Steve: It's nice to know you still care.
Rafe: What do you mean, you're dying?
Bo: Just that. I'm dying.
Bo: I've got a brain tumor. Kay is trying to be positive about the whole thing, but I don't have much time.
Rafe: I'm sorry. I don't know what to say.
Bo: I need something from you.
Bo: There's nothing in this world more important to me than my wife and kids... and my kids are gonna need her even more when I'm gone, and she's gonna need you.
Rafe: Yeah. Yeah. Okay. I'm sorry. I'm just-- I just have to-- I'm just trying to process all this, you know? Yeah, well, like I said, anything, and-- I mean, I don't understand. I mean, she's got her family. She's got your family--
Bo: Yeah, she's got--she's got that support system, yes... but I've seen her with you. She's grounded. She's calm. She trusts you. She knows that you'll never let her down.
Rafe: [Scoffs] You know, I was Aiden's best man, so I think I already let her down.
Bo: Yeah, see? There it is right there. I hear you talk about her. I see you with her. I know you love her. I appreciate you not denying it. It makes this a little easier. I know... that you will always, always do what's best for her. Yeah.
Hope: Bo? Hey, Brady.
Rafe: This doesn't make any sense. It's not fair.
Bo: It sucks, but I-- I got home. I have--I have a chance to say good-bye.
Rafe: And you're sure?
Bo: Yeah. It's not just the tests that Kayla put me through. I--I kind of knew.
[Cell phone rings]
Bo: Excuse me. Hey, Ma?
Caroline: Bo? I need your help right away.
Bo: Okay, are you at the pub?
Bo: I'm on my way. I wanted to talk to you about something too.
Ciara: Well, it can be a shock, getting a sister out of the blue like that, but it doesn't have to be a bad thing.
Joey: Yeah, and like you said, Theo, it's just a new thing.
Ciara: And that can be scary.
Joey: And your dad knows that, you know?
Ciara: And I'm sure that your dad and your sister will understand if you need to take it easy, you know? Like, go slow. And Joey and I, we can talk to them for you if you want.
Theo: Okay. Thanks, Ciara.
Ciara: Theo, we have been friends, like, forever. You don't need to thank me. And I'm really sorry, but I got to go. Oh, Theo, and I think that it's amazing that you have a sister, and I'm sure that when you get used to it, you're really gonna like it. I am really late.
Joey: Dude. You are totally crushing on her, aren't you?
Kayla: You scare me.
Steve: I'm sorry, baby.
Kayla: There could be something in that champagne that would hurt you.
Steve: That didn't happen.
Kayla: Yeah, but you like to take risks. I don't. I like everything safe and secure and everybody lives to be 100.
Steve: I know, sweetness.
Kayla: Those people, what they did to Bo, and that they would put a drug in a kid's soda-- they're not playing around. Who knows what's in that champagne? I mean, it could be poison, for all we know, and I could lose you, and...
Steve: Sweetness, listen to me. You're not gonna lose me. You're not gonna lose Joe or Stephanie, I swear to you. I swear.
Kayla: You can't swear.
Steve: No, I can't, but there's no life without some risk. Falling in love, having children-- it's all a risk. I wouldn't want my life without our children, without you. You're the best thing that's ever happened to me. I don't know why I was so stupid. If I could just have you back. If I could just have you back.
Hope: [Gasps] It's in your mind. [Gasps] It's in your mind, Hope. [Panting]
