Eve: Wake up, you bastard, so I can send you to hell where you belong.
[Door clicks open]
Ben: How was the party?
Abigail: Oh, it was-- it was fine. Hope mostly had a good time.
Abigail: Yeah, the male entertainment that we hired ended up to be a thief and got arrested, so--
Ben: Whoa. [Chuckles]
Abigail: I know. Hope was pretty upset by the end of it.
Ben: You don't think she's having second thoughts about the wedding, do you?
Abigail: Why would you say that?
Ben: Happens sometimes, doesn't it?
Hope: Come on. Sit down.
Aiden: I, uh--
Hope: Hey, over here.
Aiden: No, no, listen. I, um-- I'm good. I just--I got-- I had a little too much fun at the bachelor party, and I'm just--
Hope: Yeah, well, you're not acting like a guy who's been having fun, Aiden. What you just said-- what did you mean, you can't do this to me?
Aiden: I just--
Hope: [Sighs] Are you saying you can't marry me?
Bo: Hey, what the hell is the holdup? Doesn't Pete understand we got to get going?
Steve: He says there's a major storm rolling in.
Steve: So we can't fly in that kind of weather without radio control. What, do you got a death wish or something?
Bo: What would be a death wish is waiting for those goons to figure out we escaped. I got to get back to hope. I don't care what it takes.
Steve: Listen, Bo. I get it. I really do. But if this tin can takes a nosedive into the gulf of Mexico, I will have taken a very long trip for nothing. And hey, I would really like to get back to my ex-wife and kids too. These tropical storms, they usually blow over pretty quick.
Bo: Yeah, let's hope so.
Steve: Bo, if you don't get home, hope will never know where you've been all this time and that you did not write that damn letter.
Bo: I can't figure this out. Why would she think that I'd leave her, that--that I'd stop loving her?
Steve: I don't think she stopped loving you.
Bo: Oh, no, she's just walking down the aisle with-- whatever the hell his name is.
Steve: [Sighs] Okay.
Bo: Where are you going?
Steve: I'm gonna go buy us some time.
Bo: Okay, I'll come with you.
Steve: No, no, no, you're not coming with me. You can barely stand up. Come on. Sit down.
Bo: All right.
Steve: I'll tell you what. You get cleaned up. You'll feel better. Besides, you want hope to recognize you when you show up on her doorstep, don't you? [Laughs] Come on, buddy.
Aiden: You're beautiful. Do you know that? You're beautiful. You're the most amazing woman that I've ever met. And I can never imagine anyone ever even thinking-- thinking of hurting you.
Hope: What are you talking about?
Aiden: I mean, I just-- you're perfect.
Hope: No. I am far from perfect.
Aiden: No, you are. You're perfect. If you're not, you're a lot closer to it than I am. Don't you see, hope? Don't you get it? Don't you--don't you see? You're too good for me.
Abigail: The wedding is still on.
Ben: Glad to hear it.
Abigail: Yeah, hope was with Bo for practically all her life. It's a big step for her, but... I think that she's gonna be really happy in her new life with Aiden. And I think it's really cool that they're gonna get married at the bicentennial celebration.
Ben: Yeah. Have you been practicing catching the bouquet or... I mean, you're definitely gonna be the next bride.
Abigail: Ah, I don't know. I think I'll probably have to fight Nicole walker for that one.
Ben: You'll win.
Abigail: What are you doing?
Ben: Oh, I'm just looking at some investment opportunities for us.
Abigail: Hmm. What, uh-- what money were you thinking we were gonna invest, Ben... besides the reward money from Paige's father?
Ben: [Clears throat] [Sighs] Abigail, I know you think this is some kind of, like, blood money or something. But we have a kid on the way. Neither one of us are exactly raking in the bucks, so I think it's important that you understand why I think we should really take this cash. It's what Paige's father wants. This way, it's like he's doing something to help bring her killer to justice.
Abigail: Yeah, I guess maybe we could accept it... and then donate it to charity.
Eve: I know you can hear me. And you don't have any choice but to listen. You have any idea what you cost me, cost all of us? Hmm? What an amazing life my daughter had ahead of her. Why, Chad? That's all I want to know is why. If I can't have the answer, you know what? I'll just settle for... watching you suffer. I'd haunt your dreams if I could. Look at you, all peaceful. That's just not right.
Justin: You don't want to be like him. Don't do it, eve... even if he does deserve it.
Ben: You want to donate a percentage to charity?
Abigail: No, I want to donate all of it to charity, Ben.
Ben: [Chuckles] Abigail, that's crazy. Paige's dad posted the reward. He said I earned it.
Abigail: Ben, what, you earned-- it's not like you sought out--
Ben: I almost died!
Abigail: Okay. I just think that it's wrong to profit off of someone else's tragedy.
Ben: Should the cops be paid for solving crimes? Is that profiting off of somebody else's tragedy or--
Abigail: That's a completely different thing.
Ben: How? How is helping to catch a killer not a good thing?
Abigail: I never said it wasn't a good thing. I--you know what? Ben, obviously you're gonna take the money no matter what I say, so there's really no point in me telling you what I think anymore.
Ben: Why are you so upset?
Abigail: Because you're not even trying to see my side in this at all.
Ben: Are you trying to see mine? I think you so desperately wanted to believe Chad was innocent. And now you are furious because I'm the one who finally brought him to justice.
Justin: Can we talk outside?
Eve: So you actually thought I was gonna hurt Chad DiMera.
Justin: What were you doing in there, eve?
Eve: Well, I heard that people in comas are sometimes aware of their surroundings, and I just wanted him to hear what a subhuman being he was, and I hope that he wakes up, suffers, and fries.
Justin: So do I.
Justin: How did you get into Chad's room, anyway?
Eve: The guard said it was okay.
Justin: He shouldn't have.
Eve: Arrest me.
Justin: I don't have the power to do that even if I wanted to.
Justin: By the way, I'm still waiting for that drink you owe me.
Eve: How about now?
Justin: Let's get out of here.
Bo: [Sighs] Hey, man.
Steve: Hey. Well, mission accomplished.
Bo: Yeah? What'd you do?
Steve: I blew up the safe house. One match, and kaboom.
Steve: As far as anybody else knows, we are among the angels now.
Bo: Well, that works. Did anybody see you?
Steve: Well, what-- what, do you think this is amateur hour? I mean, what other rescuer do you know would bring you a change of clothes and a shaving kit, huh?
Steve: Hey, you're looking less like a bear and more like a man.
Bo: Thanks. And thanks for everything you've done to find me.
Steve: You would've done the same for me.
Bo: How'd you know I was in trouble?
Steve: Well, the Bo Brady I know would never leave his wife and kids like that.
Bo: Yeah. Well, everybody else seems to think I would.
Steve: Hope was just so hurt, man. And she doesn't know the ISA the way I do. That story about you going deep undercover, that didn't sit right. And when the higher-ups wouldn't give me any information...
Bo: Yeah, right. Well, I know why those sobs were after me, but to forge that letter to hope, why would they do that?
Steve: Doesn't make any sense.
Bo: No, it doesn't. All I want is my life back. And then I'm gonna find out who did this and show them the true meaning of the word "torture."
Hope: It's not true.
Aiden: Listen to me. You listen to me. [Stammering] I told you, I'm not-- I'm a mediocre attorney. I'm obviously a lousy money manager, hope. I mean-- the luckiest man in the world-- you still love me. How could you love-- how could you love someone like me?
Hope: There is nothing mediocre about you.
Aiden: You still want to marry me in spite of everything?
Hope: No, listen to me. There is nothing mediocre about you, so please, stop staying that. You had a rough time.
Aiden: Hope, you don't--
Hope: Aiden, you're coming out of it. Hey, you're a fighter. It's one of the things I love about you. You've obviously had a lot to drink-- way too much tonight at your party.
Aiden: Yeah, I did. Guess I--
Hope: But what's worrying me, Aiden, what you said before about not wanting to do this to me, about not wanting to go through with it-- what are you talking about?
Aiden: Did I use those words?
Hope: Yeah, something like that. And that made it sound like... like you wanted to end this with me.
Aiden: I-- I don't want to end anything. I don't want this to end. You understand? But you know what you should do? You should end it with me. You should want me to disappear from your life.
Hope: What? Why? Why--why are you saying that?
Abigail: This has nothing to do with Chad.
Ben: Hmm. So you don't want me to take the money for catching Chad, but it's not about him, right?
Abigail: Ben, Ben--
Ben: Do you know every single one of our arguments is about Chad? You noticed that, right, Abigail? You didn't want him to get caught even after he attacked me, for god's sake.
Abigail: I didn't want there to be a witch hunt, Ben.
Ben: You don't want him to pay?
Abigail: Not if he's innocent.
Ben: Oh, my God! We have DNA. We have CSI. We have everything other than a confession written in blood. I told you he attacked me. How the hell can you still believe he's innocent?
[Soft dramatic music]
Bo: We're gonna need an ark to get out of here.
Steve: Yeah, keep your eyes open for unwanted visitors. I've only got one, remember?
Bo: Ha. It's one hell of a day.
Steve: Yeah, sorry I couldn't get you a brewski to take the edge off.
Bo: Nothing's gonna take the edge off till I get home.
Steve: Well, how about a game of five-card stud to pass the time while this thing blows over?
Bo: I'm not losing my shirt to you.
Steve: You're wearing my shirt.
Steve: So 20 questions time.
Bo: You got it. This guy that hope is thinking of marrying, what's his name?
Steve: Aiden, a-I-d-e-n, Jennings.
Bo: Aiden, what the-- what's he like?
Steve: I don't know him all that well.
Bo: Where'd she meet him?
Steve: I don't know. I wasn't around, remember? Maybe in court. He's some kind of hotshot lawyer or something.
Bo: A defense lawyer? Ah, sweet. Wrong side of the law.
Steve: It's a dirty job, but somebody's got to--
Bo: Hey, no, I need to know everything you know about him. Is he worthy of hope?
Hope: Why would I want to break up with you? I love you. Aiden, we're getting married.
Aiden: Listen, I, um-- I have to tell you something.
Aiden: Um, ever since you loaned me that money, it's just been eating me alive, and I never should have taken it.
Hope: Hey, you were in trouble. I'm glad you came to me for help. It's what you do for the people you love.
Aiden: No, I should be able to provide for us, not the other way around. Hope, I've made a mess of everything, and...
Hope: You're not still in trouble, are you?
Aiden: No. No, no, I, um-- course not. I just--I wish I'd never gotten in this hole, that's all. So...
Hope: You said that you met with a financial adviser, you had an appointment.
Aiden: I did, yeah. He said it's gonna be a long time till I'm solvent again. I'm--I'M... listen, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I hope I didn't ruin things. I'm just not thinking straight, you know? I don't-- please, listen to me. Don't-- don't call off the wedding.
Bo: Steve, come on. Talk to me.
Steve: [Sighs] Okay. So, uh... he's got a kid Ciara's age. I think they go to school together.
Bo: Don't tell me she fixed them up.
Steve: Well, no, actually, I think she gave both Jennings men a rough time at first.
Bo: Oh, that's my girl.
Steve: Wait. Did you hear something?
Bo: It's clear here. Go on.
Steve: [Sighs] So apparently the Jennings kid and Ciara are besties now, and she's on board with the whole thing.
Bo: Uh-huh. What did hope bribe her with?
Steve: I don't know, maybe a starring role in the wedding, or... maybe she genuinely likes the guy.
Steve: I'm sorry.
Bo: No, no, no, I need-- I need to know. What does everybody else think of this jerk?
Steve: Well, you know me. I never had much use for lawyers. And Kayla--Kayla wasn't a fan at first either. I'm not sure why. But he eventually won her over too.
Bo: Well, we can't trust her taste in men. She married you, after all.
Steve: Can't argue with that.
Bo: What about Victor? He loaned you this plane. He can't be a card-carrying member of this jerk's fan club.
Steve: Well, maybe not, but he doesn't believe you're alive either. He's indulging me. Look, Bo, I think the bottom line is, everyone who loves hope-- and that includes just about everyone who knows her-- wants her to move on with her life and... have another chance at love.
Bo: Oh. Isn't that nice? So the upshot is, everybody just loves this white knight.
Steve: Not everybody.
Bo: Oh, yeah? Who doesn't?
Bo: Oh, because he's a lawyer.
Steve: No, because I think he's bad news.
Bo: Bad news? How?
Steve: I don't know. It's almost like he's... you know, too good to be true.
Hope: Why would I want to call off the wedding? Don't you remember how this conversation started? I thought you wanted to call off the wedding.
Aiden: No, that's not what I said. What I said was, I don't deserve you--
Hope: It's not true. No, it's not true. Do you have any idea how much I love you?
Aiden: Not as much as I love you.
Hope: I know you're probably nervous about marriage after what happened with Meredith, but I promise you, what happened with Meredith isn't going to happen with us. I'm gonna convince you that there is such a thing as happily ever after.
Aiden: I've screwed up so many times.
Hope: You think I haven't?
Aiden: Not like me.
Hope: You have no idea. Did you know I have a rap sheet?
Hope: It's true. I did some, um, pretty crazy things a few years ago when I wasn't myself--
Aiden: I don't need to know.
Hope: Aiden, I never thought I could love another man beside Bo. You showed me that I can. And I do. And I know that we're gonna have a wonderful life together. So you're not going to get cold feet on me, okay? Because I won't let you.
Aiden: I won't. I can't.
Bo: What are you doing?
Steve: I just reconnected the phone, but if I'm getting on your nerves, you let me know.
Bo: No, no, no, no. You are a genius.
Steve: Said no one ever before.
Bo: Give me that thing.
Hope: Here. Why don't you lay back a little? Is that comfortable?
Aiden: Yeah. I'm sorry I said what I said. I'm just a little bit... intoxicated, you know?
Hope: You think?
Aiden: Hope, I would never run out on you. Thought maybe you'd want to when you realized how tough the money thing was gonna be, you know?
Hope: It's been a really emotional week. Losing will... seems wrong to celebrate.
Aiden: I know.
Hope: But it also reminds you that life is short. And of all the things I care about in the world, money is very last on the list. What I care about are the people I love. And I care about our future together.
Hope: Are you okay?
Aiden: Aren't you gonna answer that?
Hope: If it's important, they'll call back. All I care about right now is you.
Bo: Nobody's answering. What time is it there anyway?
Steve: I'm sure it's way past bedtime.
Bo: Maybe the-- maybe the call didn't go through. I'll try again.
Justin: This sure beats hanging out at the hospital, doesn't it?
Eve: I guess.
Eve: No offense. It's just... [Groans] No matter where I am, my days are empty. My heart's empty.
Justin: I know. I know.
Eve: You know, I thought that settlement from Jennifer would be the answer to my problems, that I'd be able to send my daughter to college, on to med school. Turns out her dad had $100,000 that he could've given her while she was alive, but instead he used it as a reward. Oh, God, it's all just so pointless.
Justin: I know it feels that way right now, but it's gonna get better.
Eve: I think it'll always feel that way. I mean, what-- what would push somebody to take an innocent life like that? I mean, he didn't even know Paige. What was going on in his head to do something so brutal and so violent?
Justin: He's insane. Anyone who could do that has to be.
Abigail: Ben, what I think about Chad doesn't matter.
Ben: Seriously? You'd rather believe in that jerk than your own fiancÚ?
Abigail: No, Ben. I-- I feel guilty, okay? I feel guilty. Is that so hard for you to understand? Paige and Serena and will, they were murdered. And if we accept that money, every time that I spend money on anything, on baby clothes, on food, on anything--
Ben: Fine, fine, fine, fine! We won't take it! We won't take it. Do you know how much day care costs? How about diapers? I mean, one of us is gonna have to quit our job, and we're gonna be barely making it.
Abigail: Ben, we planned for this, remember? It's not like we expected to have this sudden windfall.
Ben: Okay, well, we're not getting another one. We're definitely not getting another one, unless somehow I win the lottery or one of your rich relatives finally kicks the bucket and we get to finally just take their fortune.
Abigail: How dare you say that to me? I swear to God, Ben, sometimes I feel like I don't know you at all.
Aiden: Must be important if they're calling back, especially at this hour.
Hope: It's probably the station, but I better check.
Aiden: Yeah. [Groans]
Hope: Oh, it's an unlisted number. Hello.
Bo: Fancy face? It's me.
Hope: Hello? Hello.
Bo: [Staticky] Hope? Are you there?
Hope: I can't hear you. Hello?
Bo: She hung up.
Bo: Yeah, I don't think she could hear me.
Steve: Call her back.
Bo: Yeah, I am. I am.
Aiden: What was that all about?
Hope: I don't know. It was all staticky and garbled. Couldn't make out a word.
Aiden: Well, I guess they'll call back if it's that important.
Hope: Yeah. Probably just a telemarketer.
Bo: Damn it, the-- the line is dead.
Steve: Ah, don't you throw that phone.
Bo: Got to fix this. Would you-- please, just fix it.
Steve: I'll fix it.
Aiden: Thank you for understanding. I feel like I just made a big fool of myself, you know? I should've gone home, slept it off. How come nobody got you drunk at your bachelorette party?
Hope: Well, because we were busy arresting the stripper. [Laughs]
Hope: Yeah. I hope your party was less eventful.
Aiden: Well, it started off with Roman, Eric kidnapping me and then feeding me a half dozen shots or so...
Hope: I'm sorry.
Aiden: To make it up for scaring the hell out of me.
Hope: I'm really sorry about that--yikes.
Aiden: I'm the one who's sorry.
Hope: Stop. You need to know we are in this together. What's mine is yours, and what's yours is mine.
Aiden: Yeah. I was just, um, scared, I guess.
Hope: Of what?
Aiden: Losing you.
Hope: That is never, ever... going to happen. Come on.
Hope: Let's get a midnight snack. And then it's off to bed for us. Okay?
Hope: Because tomorrow, Mr. Jennings...
Hope: We have a really big day.
Hope: Okay, come on.
Aiden? What's wrong?
Eve: Okay, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. What you just said makes me a little nervous here.
Eve: You're the DA, and you're telling me that Chad's insane. Justin, what makes you think he's not gonna take the insanity plea and get off scot-free?
Justin: It's not gonna happen. I won't let it.
Eve: I know you're good at your job, but... come on, are you sure?
Justin: Trust me.
Abigail: I think we need to end this conversation right now.
Ben: Don't you walk out on me, Abigail! I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Babe...
Welcome home, Mrs. Weston.
Squeeze my hand, baby. Squeeze my hand. You're doing great. You're doing great. Are you ready to meet our baby boy? Are you ready to meet our baby boy?
Abigail: [Screams] [Panting]
Ben: Hi, Benjamin. [Gasps] He just opened his eyes. [Laughs] We're gonna give you a great life, you know that? [Laughs] We were a couple. Now we're a family. Life is perfect.
I will take beauty into my own hands...where it belongs.
Bo: Oh, come on. This is useless.
Steve: I'm sorry, man.
Bo: Steve, I heard her voice. Something wasn't right.
Steve: What do you mean?
Bo: She sounded upset.
Steve: Well, maybe it had to do with getting a mysterious call in the middle of the night.
Bo: No, no, I know her. Something was wrong. We got to take off. I got to get home.
Steve: We can't take off now. It's a monsoon out there.
Bo: I don't care! If we have to fly into the middle of this storm, I got to get home to my wife.
Aiden: Oh, no, nothing is-- nothing's wrong. I just, uh-- you know, like I told you, I want to just stick to tradition. I can't sleep here tonight with you, you know, not till our wedding night.
Hope: You're so sweet. I'm not superstitious.
Aiden: Yeah, well, I am.
Hope: Okay, well, you're in no condition to drive. So if you won't sleep in our room tonight, how about the guest room?
Aiden: No, that's-- I'll get a cab.
Hope: No, don't be silly. I'll drive you home.
Aiden: No, you-- you know what I'm gonna do? I'm just gonna go to the square. I'll just get a cab there, okay? The fresh air will do me good.
Aiden: I love you... more than you'll ever know. No, I can't. No, no. Good night.
Hope: Good night, Mr. Jennings.
Eve: You know, you are a very interesting guy.
Justin: Is that a euphemism for--
Eve: Smart, generous, kind? Yeah. I don't know how I can ever thank you for being such a good friend.
Justin: You don't have to.
Eve: But I want to.
Ben: [Sighs] [Yells]
Ben: Oh, my God. I'm just like Clyde. No. No, no, no, no. [Yells] I hate... myself.
