Episode #12678 ~ Marlena puts Chad under hypnosis to uncover the truth behind the two murders; although Abigail makes wedding plans with Ben, she can't help worrying about Chad; Gabi is happily reunited with Will & Arianna.

John: His name is Petrov. Ilya Petrov, P-E-T-R-O-V. All I know about him is he's Russian. He defected, then he disappeared off the radar. Yeah, that's right. Now listen, the thing is this guys is-- well, he might be the one who can help me find what I'm looking for. So if you come up with something on him, shoot it off to me, okay? Got it, thanks.

[Phone beeps]

John: Ilya Petrov.

[Knock at door]

John: Hey, Steve, come on.

Steve: Hey, john.

John: What's going on man?

Steve: I need your help. It's about Bo.

Gabi: Whooo. You're such a cute girl. Yes, you are. You're the sweetest, and mommy missed you so, so, so much. So much! I'm so happy. I could hardly stand it.

Will: I never dreamed that this would happen so fast.

Rafe: You know, yesterday they were saying they hoped to decide your case next month, and the earliest possible time would be the end of this month, and honestly, I was just hoping you were gonna be home for thanksgiving. Then all of the sudden the phone starts ringing and you are out.

Gabi: I know, I know.

Rafe: Mwah.

Gabi: I mean, Mr. Jennings said that I had a shot, but he--he said not to keep my hopes up. But--but that's like telling an inmate not to breathe.

Will: Well this time hope came through.

Gabi: Yeah.

[Sentimental music]

Listen, guys, I'm-- I just want to say thank you, um, for never giving up on me.

Rafe: My God, are you kidding? Never, listen, it's gonna take a while, okay, it is.

Gabi: Yeah.

Rafe: But this is happening, all right? This is real. You are out, sis. You're out.

Gabi: I know, I know. Finally, finally, mama. And I get a second chance to be your mommy again, and I promise, that I will never ever make another mistake that will take that away from me. Okay?

Mommy is home for good. Mommy's home for good.

Ben: Seriously? Skydiving... saying our vows at 5,000 feet, that's not even an option for you?

Abigail: No.

Ben: Man, I'm so disappointed.

Abigail: Oh, Ben. Stop teasing. You are not. Here... check out that amazing article I found on party favors we can give the guests at the reception.

Ben: What? How did I miss that? My God, what's the matter with me? "The importance of party favors: "Special reminders for your biggest day."

Abigail: Ben, seriously. We need to think about this stuff.

Ben: So we have people come to our wedding, free food, dancing, music, booze. And we're supposed to send them home with swag?

Abigail: It is not swag. Ben. They're party favors. They're things that the guests will keep forever to remind them what a great time they had with us.

Ben: Okay, hey. Whatever my bride wants, she gets.

Abigail: Thank you.

Ben: Swag. Sorry, favors it is.

Both: [Laughing]

Ben: But before we start dreaming up some take-home floral arrangements with, you know, live goldfish at the bottom of the bowl, all wearing diamond necklaces--

Abigail: Ben!

Ben: I think you need to remember that it was your mom footing the bill.

Abigail: Yeah, I know, you're right, I know.

Ben: Hm, yeah.

Abigail: I need to think about that. We'll have to keep an eye on the expenses.

Ben: But... I bet I know somebody who'd be willing to help out.

Marlena: Chad? Do you know where you are?

[Suspenseful music]

Chad: In Salem.

Marlena: Where in Salem?

Chad: In your office.

Marlena: Yes. I want you to let everything go. Let your mind clear completely. We have plenty of time. There's no rush. Just feel yourself floating. It's easy. It's slow. I want you to go back in time, a few days. You're at your club. You're having a drink with Serena. She's there with you right now.

Chad: Yes.

Marlena: Can you see her?

Chad: Yes.

Marlena: Good. Look at her. Tell me what comes into your mind.

Chad: This is the night she's gonna die.

Marlena: Chad... let's not get ahead of ourselves. We can just take this slowly. You're at the club, and you're with Serena. Is it noisy?

Chad: A little music. There's not that many people.

Marlena: What do you see around you?

Chad: The walls are dim, low light.

[Suspenseful music]

The bar is shiny, like it's just been cleaned.

Marlena: Are there any smells you can identify?

Chad: Fresh coffee, scotch on the table, Serena's wearing some kind

of perfume. Marlena: How do you feel?

Chad: Messed up... drunk.

Marlena: Is Serena messed up too?

Chad: Yeah. She can't get any of her words right.

Marlena: Sounds like you're having a good time.

Chad: She--she's... just who I need tonight.

Marlena: Chad, does she want to be with you?

Chad: We're laughing...

Both: [Laughing]

Chad: Taking shots, playing drinking games.

Marlena: What else?

Chad: A kiss.

Marlena: She kissed you?

Chad: Yeah, but I want more. I can't stop trying to take it further. I'm so damn stupid.

Marlena: It's all right. People overstep when they've been drinking. It's okay, just relax.

Chad: She slapped me.

Marlena: Chad, it's okay. It's all right. I want you to concentrate. Focus for me. Okay, she just slapped you. Chad? How do you feel? Are you upset? Are you confused?

Chad: I'm furious.

John: Steve... are you working on a hunch here, or do you have any proof?

Steve: No, listen. After we last talked, I started calling around. I tapped some of our old contacts from the merchant marine, people Bo would call if he needed help.

John: Yeah, and?

Steve: And he put me on to a girl-- eh, a girl I used to hook up with occasionally, Monika. Now she wasn't really clear of the timeline, but she said maybe 18 months uh, two years, something like that. That's when she used her charter to get Bo out of Hamburg and onto a ship in the north sea--a freighter.

John: Well, was he running?

Steve: No, she couldn't say. She--you know, I mean, he didn't tell her anything. You know how Bo is when he doesn't want to give any information--

John: Well, yeah, yeah. But if he suddenly had to get the hell out of Hamburg, then--

Steve: Well, then he disappeared because he needed to. So what I'm hoping is that you can use your contacts, find out if the ISA was involved in any activity around Germany at the same time, especially in Hamburg.

John: Right, something Bo might have gotten caught up in.

Steve: And this might explain why he needed to head out to sea so fast. And maybe... maybe why he disappeared completely.

[Suspenseful music]

John: Let's see what I can find.

[Phone beeps]

Gabi: Look at this. Look at these cheeks

Rafe: [Laughing]

Gabi: And these eyes. This is what I missed the most in there, moments like this. I--I feel like I'm dreaming.

Rafe: Yeah, well you're not, okay? Like I said, get used to it.

Gabi: Do you know what I was doing when I found out that I was getting out? I was finishing my shift at the laundry, and I was--I was walking across the yard. And this guard in front of me starts yelling, "Hernandez, you have ten minutes to pack or the bus leaves without you."

Will: Wow.

Rafe: Well, you know, the real reason you got out don't you? Is Aiden Jennings got involved in your case. So if you want to thank someone, you better thank him.

Will: When Aiden went over your sentencing, he found an error that the judge made right away. A big one.

Rafe: And then [Claps] Bam. You're out, time served.

Will: Talk about someone saving your life.

Gabi: I know. I know I could-- I could've still been in there. While my baby is growing up without me.

Rafe: Hey, what do you say we all go get something to eat, huh? Your first meal out of prison.

Gabi: Wow. A meal with my family. Oh, my g--

Rafe: You know when things go bad, you remember your family is most important, okay? Come on.

Gabi: Yeah.

Let's do this.

Gabi: Okay, let's go, let's go. Daddy, giddy-up.

Will: [Laughs]

Gabi: Giddy-up...

John: Yeah, I appreciate it, Carl, thank you. All right.

[Phone beeps]

John: Here's the deal. When WikiLeaks and then Edward Snowden leaks started to hit the news, the ISA shut down all of Germany tighter than a drum. No activity whatsoever, and that, my friend, coincides when Bo was there.

Steve: So if my friend Monika got Bo out of Hamburg and onto a freighter in the north sea--

John: He wasn't working with the ISA, he was already on his own.

Steve: Why would he go rogue?

John: I don't know. Kinda explains why he kept hope in the dark though.

Steve: But he kept everybody in the dark. You think this was some kind of personal thing?

John: Could be.

Steve: There's still the possibility that he was turned.

John: Aw, yeah right. Come on, man. Bo Brady going over the other side? No.

Steve: Well, there could have been a threat, some kind of coercion.

John: He would have found a way to communicate either with you, me, Victor, or somebody.

Steve: Well he was out there all on his own. He had no backup. He'd be totally vulnerable.

John: Listen, did your girl give you the name of the freighter that she took Bo to?

Steve: The Marianne.

John: Marianne. All right, well, why don't I see if I can just find out where that little sweetheart sails to on a regular basis?

Steve: That'd be good.

John: [Laughs softly]

Steve: Wow, man, this is so cool. Us working together again. It's like old times, huh?

John: Yeah, it feels good. Oh, by the way, there's a beer in the fridge if, uh, you are so inclined.

Steve: I'm gonna crack a couple of those open.

[Dramatic music]

John: Come on.

Abigail: Ben... I know that your dad is willing to step in and help at any time, but we can't have him paying for things that my mom thinks are her responsibility, you know? It's traditional to have the bride's family pay for the wedding.

Ben: You're right, right. Hurt feelings, I got it.

Abigail: You know, maybe what we should do is get married at the old martin mansion. I mean, it will be all fixed up during the bicentennial, and then they'll let us rent it for just a small fee.

Ben: Hm, well it sound better than the places we've been checking out. Talk about expensive.

Abigail: Aunt Maggie said that hope and Aiden are getting married there during the bicentennial.

Ben: Oh, yeah? Cool.

Abigail: Yeah, and if we plan our wedding to be right before Christmas time, then all the decorations will be up and everything. Then my mom will save on that too. What do you-- what do you think?

Ben: All right, Abigail, this is it. The man is the one who makes the choice on this, so I'm doing it. All of it, it's final. Don't even think about contradicting me. So whatever you want to do, that's what we're gonna do.

Abigail: What?

Ben: Hm. Had you going there though, didn't I? I did.

Abigail: You know, I have to admit, it is kinda nice knowing that I get to have whatever I want.

Ben: [Laughs softly]

Abigail: What if what I want right now... is you?

Ben: Then I am here to serve.

[Romantic music]

Abigail: [Gasps] Oh, my God.

Ben: Are you okay?

Abigail: Oh, my God. I think I just felt the baby kick.

Ben: What?

Abigail: I did.

Ben: I-I don't feel anything.

Abigail: I mean, I think-- I think I did. I think that's what I felt.

Ben: Hey, I-I--wouldn't be surprised. I bet the little one's just as excited as we are about the wedding.

Both: [Laugh softly]

Chad: Damn bitch. We were fine, and now all of the sudden she's all worked up. [Breathing deeply]

Marlena: Chad--

Chad: What, does she think she's so damn hot? Cut my lip. Her nail cut my lip, and now I'm bleeding.

Marlena: Chad--

Chad: Was she just gonna walk out on me? What the hell? She thinks I'm gonna be okay with that?

Marlena: I want you to calm yourself down. Listen to me. It's over. We're stopping it right here. Okay, Serena's gone. We're alone in my office, just the two of us. All you can hear is the sound of my voice. Do you understand?

Chad: [Whimpers] [Breathing deeply] Yes.

Marlena: Good, good. I'm gonna count backwards from five. When I get to one, you'll be wide awake. You'll remember everything we talked about. You'll feel relaxed and safe and comfortable.

[Suspenseful music]

Marlena: Five... four... calm your breathing. Three... two... one. Open your eyes. How do you feel?

Chad: Good. Fine. You know, relaxed, just like you said I would be.

Marlena: Good.

Chad: Did I say anything useful?

Marlena: You said that she slapped you. And it made you angry. Chad: That's it? I knew all of that going into this. Marlena: Chad... don't try to judge this. It's the beginning of a process. Know it takes as long as it takes, not a day less. But I think we're going to find out a lot about what you went through.

Chad: Really?

Marlena: I do.

Chad: [Sighs] Good. Thank you. Really, you didn't have to do any of this. I know I'm not exactly anyone's favorite in this town, so it-- Marlena: Chad, you're the man who saved my life in Italy.

Chad: [Laughs] Yeah, well, you know, my father put you through hell.

Marlena: So you keep saying. You are not your father.

Chad: Yeah, well, that's about the only thing I have going for me.

[Solemn music]

Marlena: Listen to me...

Chad: [Sighs]

Marlena: I want to see you through this. I want us to get the whole story.

What I can promise you is that it won't happen quickly. Or easily. And parts of it may be brutal.

So are you ready to put yourself through that?

Chad: Look, Marlena, I-I'll do anything. Seriously, as--as many sessions as it takes.

Marlena: But what if you're guilty?

[Solemn music]

Chad: Then I'll turn myself in. Okay, and what keeps bugging me and the reason why I think I'm being set up is it's just--it's this is-- it's all too neat.

Marlena: Chad... who'd have had the information to do this to you? Who would have had the resources? Who could've made everything point to you?

Chad: [Deeply exhales] I-I don't--you know at first I thought it was my father. All right, we've been going at it a lot lately, but he's not the one.

Marlena: How can you be sure?

Chad: He gave me his word.

Marlena: You know--uh-- after all he's put you through, I-I guess I wonder that his word would actually be enough.

Chad: I hope so. I want to believe it is. I mean, Marlena, he's my father.

Abigail: You know what I was thinking? Ben.

Ben: Sorry, what?

Abigail: No, that's okay. Go to sleep.

Ben: Nah, it's okay. I'm up.

Abigail: A new home... baby... just brings everything into focus. You know? Family. Hm? When you're building a family, you're building something so powerful. It's so lasting. It's so important. That's why there can't be any doubts.

[Dramatic music]

You're saying that there's no one else.

From now on, no matter what happened in your past, there can only be one great love. No one else. No one else ever again.

Rafe: Listen...

Will: Hm.

Rafe: I know what happened today totally came out of the blue, and it's fantastic. But, uh, have you thought about where you're gonna be staying? And if you haven't, I just want you to know I got a new place. I've got an extra bedroom. If you and Ari want to crash with me, it would be so great.

Gabi: Rafe.

Rafe: Really.

Gabi: Thank you.

Rafe: Yeah.

Gabi: But, um, I don't know. I was thinking that we wouldn't change up her routine. Maybe I could move back in with Sonny and you. What?

Will: You didn't tell her?

Rafe: There wasn't exactly time.

Abigail: Wait, didn't tell me what?

Will: What's that?

Rafe: Nothing.

Gabi: What?

Rafe: Hey, Ari, what do you-- you want some dessert? 'Cause they got some new ice cream here.

Gabi: Mm-mm.

Rafe: It's really good.

Gabi: Mm-mm, no.

Rafe: You're gonna love it.

Gabi: What are you doing?

Rafe: You are so gonna love it.

Gabi: Mm-mm.

Rafe: Yummy, yum, yum.

Gabi: You know that-- wait, will, what's going on? Does Sonny not want me to move back in? I--he didn't say any of that when I last saw him.

Will: Sonny's in Paris right now--[Clears throat]

Gabi: What?

Will: He's working for his uncle, and he's helping him change management at some of the night clubs and casinos he owns in Europe.

Gabi: Um, wow, okay. Well that was-- that was sudden. I mean, he's coming back, right?

Will: Yeah, I hope so.

Gabi: Will, what does that mean, you hope so?

Will: Gabi, I-I just don't know right now.

Gabi: Wait a minute. Does this have something to do with those problems that you guys were having?

Will: Uh, yeah, I guess you could say that, yeah.

Gabi: Well, what happened? That was a couple months ago. You never told me what happened with that.

Will: Mm, it's complicated.

Gabi: Come on, will. I mean it has to be something huge for Sonny to just up and move away like that.

Will: You're right. It is a huge problem. It's name is Paul Narita. It's john black's long lost son.

John: All right. There she is. Marianne makes a steady run Hamburg, Copenhagen. Copenhagen right back to Hamburg.

Steve: So Bo boarded, got himself to Copenhagen.

John: If he got off the ship.

Steve: I'll tell you what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna send a message to my buddy axel. Bo and I used to hang out with him. He owns a bar down there. If anybody's seen him, it'll be axel. [Sighs] Man.

John: What?

Steve: This is not what I was supposed to be doing when I came back to Salem.

John: [Sighs] I know it man, I know you were coming home for family, looking for a way to reconnect.

Steve: Well, yeah, technically Bo is family, but Kayla is just--

John: Kayla can't be happy about you getting back in the game, is she?

Steve: No, she is not happy.

John: No, I know how you feel, man. Know I'm back with the ISA, not to mention I'm looking into my past. Doc's trying to be patient, but... damn, I don't know how much she's gonna take.

Marlena: Okay. Let's put Stefano aside. Any idea who else could be trying to set you up?

[Suspenseful music]

Chad: Not really. All right, but--but here's the thing. I don't need you to find the killer. I just have to prove that I'm not the guy, which is exactly why we need to stick to the hypnosis thing. Figure out the truth about the black outs. All I have to do is give the cops an alibi.

Marlena: All right then. We will keep working on it every single day.

Chad: In secret?

Marlena: You know that I am the consulting psychiatrist on this case. So if the police ask if we're meeting, although I don't have to tell them what we're discussing. I do have to tell them that we're in session.

Chad: [Sighs] All right, well, let's just hope it's cleared up by then.

[Intense music]

Guard: It's time, DiMera.

Chad: Is Abigail here? She said she was gonna come here before--

[Indistinct yelling]

Chad: She said she was gonna come before I--

Guard: You're kidding, right? Nobody's coming, DiMera, and nobody's gonna see you, not where you're going.

Abigail: [Whimpering]

[Phone beeps]

Steve: You know, I'm surprised Marlena even agreed.

John: Yeah, well, you see, I kinda... bent over backwards to show her that this time I wasn't gonna let work ruin things for us.

Steve: You think you can stick to that?

John: Well, I better. You better be careful yourself.

Steve: I know.

John: I'm serious, man. We screw this one up, we're not gonna get a second chance.

[Dramatic music]

Gabi: Okay, but--but you never said anything.

Will: I was just too stunned. Gabi, I was ashamed.

Gabi: Okay, all right. Let me get this straight. So this--this baseball player that you did the cover story for Sonix, uh, Paul Narita, the one you--

Will: I-I slept with him.

Gabi: Okay, the guy you slept with.

Will: I slept with him.

Gabi: Okay.

Will: Yeah, you can say it. Look, it only happened once, but then when everything came out, Sonny was really angry. And then it got to a place to where he wanted to work it out. Then I screwed it up even more. I was just so afraid of losing him. Paul's famous. He's really good looking. He's a hero to everybody. I mean, the guy can literally do no wrong.

Gabi: Yeah, but Sonny loved you.

Will: I know that now, but he's gone.

Gabi: Will, come on, okay? You have to keep trying. And I know that eventually Sonny will come home.

[Phone ringing]

Marlena: Hello?

John: Hey, doc, it's me. I'm just, um, checking in to see when you're coming home, about done for the day.

Marlena: I should be leaving pretty soon.

John: All right. That sounds good. Oh, Steve's over here. We're having a beer and just kinda going over a few things, but I'll make sure that, uh, I have him cleared out before you come home 'cause I just want it to be you and me tonight.

Marlena: Oh. Do I detect desire for something beyond companionship?

John: Desire would be the correct word, yes. I'll see you soon.

Marlena: Okay.

[Suspenseful music]

John: All right, my guy got back. Ilya Alexander Petrov... defected Russia 1987, teacher Winterthorne academy, Littleton, Vermont.

Winterthorne academy. Never heard of it.

Marlena: Okay.

[Menacing music]

Marlena: [Gasps]

[Dramatic music]

[Phone beeps]

[Phone trilling]

[Phone ringing]

[Phone beeps]

Kayla: Hello?

Chad: Hi--uh, hi, Kayla. It's, uh, Chad DiMera.

Kayla: Uh, yes, I saw your name. Something wrong?

Chad: No, no, I-I just didn't know who else to call. I need some info on a medication.

Kayla: Well, you know, Chad, you can just go on the internet and type in the name of the drug. It'll tell you everything you want to know.

Chad: That's great, thank you. Uh, but I was hoping since I was on the board, and my family built the children's wing, you might want to help me out personally.

Kayla: Sure, of course.

Chad: Great. What kind of drugs, uh, can make somebody black out or not remember anything?

Kayla: Well, there's several actually. It just depends on the person and, uh, what else is in their system.

Chad: Okay and something that can be mixed with alcohol and can't be tasted?

Kayla: Well, there is the famous one, rohypnol, otherwise known as a roofie, or date rape drug. It's--it's absorbed through the stomach lining and it takes a while to take effect. You know, what's going on?

Chad: Just trying to figure some things out.

Kayla: Do you think something like this happened to you?

[Suspenseful music]

Clyde: Oh, I started you. I am so sorry dr. Evans. You are the last person I'd ever want to scare or upset.

Marlena: Well, I guess I'm surprised to see you here. I mean, you did let me go as your therapist.

Clyde: I did, didn't I? And I know you advised me not to, but I have to tell you I feel fine. You know, lately things just seem to happen to me. They just fall right into my lap.

Marlena: Good. What are you doing here?

Clyde: I realized I owe you for the final session. Clyde Weston is a man who always pays his debts.

Chad: Actually, I'm thinking that something-- yeah, yeah, something like that drug would explain what happened to me, but the thing is, I would have to prove it.

Kayla: Uh, right. Well, my guess is there's no evidence left from the night that you were out drinking.

Chad: No. But what I--what I was wondering is--is what would there still be a trace of it in my system?

Kayla: No, not anymore. You know most toxins flush out the system in 24 to 48 hours.

Chad: Thank you.

[Suspenseful music]

Chad: Damn it.

Priest: Say good-bye to this life, my son. In the end, our earthly bodies are no more. I bid you god's speed.

Abigail: No, no, no, wait.

Chad: Abi! Help me.

Abigail: You can't take him. You can't take him away.

Priest: Let him go.

Chad: Abi! Abi!

Both: [Struggling]

Abigail: Chad, Chad! No! [Gasping]

Ben: Hey, hey. It's okay.

Abigail: [Sobbing]

Ben: It's okay.

Abigail: No, it's not. I was dreaming a--

Ben: What about? You just yelled "no" like it was really life and death. Babe, what's going on with you? What were you dreaming about?

[Dramatic music]

[Suspenseful music]

Steve: What are you looking at?

John: I'm not sure, Steve.

[Phone beeps]

John: Maybe nothing.

Steve: Whoa, it's axel.

John: Yeah, what's up?

Steve: Oh, my God, man. Okay.

[Phone beeps]

Steve: Looks like Bo didn't disappear after all. He just knew how to fly under the radar.

John: What are you talking about? He's still in Copenhagen?

Steve: Oh, he was there, off and on, for quite a while, but axel helped him get down to Cancun.

John: Whoa.

Whoa, you're not--

Steve: Yeah, I'm going, man. I'm going--I'm going to Cancun. I'm bring Bo back.

[Dramatic music]

Gabi: Sonny's a good man. Okay? I know him. You just have to give him some time and hang in there. He'll forgive you. Trust me. I am the poster girl for second chances.

Will: [Chuckles]

Gabi: For making dreams come true.

Will: Yeah. Plus you give a hell of a pep talk.

Gabi: No, it's not. It's not a pep talk. It's the truth.

Will: Thank you, and by the way, you and Ari should definitely stay with us again.

Gabi: Oh, thank you.

Will: I wouldn't have it any other way.

Gabi: [Gasps]

Rafe: Did you hear that?

Gabi: Did you hear that?

Rafe: Did you? Now that sounds like a good plan.

Gabi: Yeah, aww... did you hear that Ari? You're gonna be living with mommy and daddy again. Are you excited? That makes me such a happy girl. You have no idea how happy that makes me, mama. Oh, I love you so much. Come here. Give me a hug.

[Sentimental music]

Ben: Abigail, look at me. What were you dreaming about?

Abigail: I was dreaming that I--

Ben: Okay, it must have really upset you. You're still shaking.

Abigail: I was dreaming. [Sobbing]

Ben: Was it about me?

[Dramatic music]

Abigail: Yes. Yeah, it was about you. You--you left me. You left me and our baby. We were alone and you left us.

Ben: What? No way. Get ov--get over here.

Abigail: [Sobbing]

Ben: No way. It's not gonna happen. That's not gonna happen. Look at me. I'm never letting go of you or our baby. Ever.

Come here.

Clyde: Now here you go. Like I say, I always pay my way. I'll tell you the truth, money right now doesn't mean much to me. Things will come so easy it feels like. Everything I touch just turns to gold.

Marlena: That must make you very happy.

Clyde: Well, you know, I feel better about myself than I ever have. I mean, life is great.
