John: Hey, Roman. Just dropping off a case for hope I was working on. I'm gonna miss working with that girl. Partnering with a cop that good really keeps you on your toes.
Roman: Then why are you dumping her and going to work for the ISA?
John: Well, first off, they wanted me back, and that made me feel good. Secondly, working here made me realize just how much I miss working there.
Roman: Know the feeling. Been there, but those are still emotional reasons to go back to a very dangerous job. John, I hope to hell you know what you're doing.
Ben: Maybe we should go back to the bookstore.
Ben: I'm just not sure you bought every single book that has to do with being pregnant.
Abigail: Hey, I did not get that many. I also got a couple on newborns, and, you know, I got few for the baby.
Abigail: I just want to make sure I'm doing everything right for this kid. Ben.
Abigail: Oh, my God.
Ben: What is it?
Abigail: It's from Maxine. Do you know Serena mason?
Ben: She's come into the club a few times. Why?
Abigail: She was murdered last night.
Ben: What? Are you kidding me?
Ben: You worked with her at the hospital, right?
Abigail: Yes, she was doing research there.
Clyde: Hey, you two.
Clyde: You talking about the mason woman?
Ben: Yeah, dad, we are.
Abigail: Yeah, I can't believe this. Did the police get whoever did it?
Clyde: No, not yet.
Abigail: My God. I just was with her the other day. I just saw her.
Clyde: I saw her in a hell of an argument with a guy about an hour before she got it.
Abigail: Did you recognize who the guy was?
Clyde: Oh, yeah. None other than Chad DiMera.
Hope: She was only in her 30s.
Rafe: Yeah, someone didn't want Serena mason to get any older.
Hope: Glad they were able to put a rush on your reinstatement so we could work together on this case.
Rafe: Yeah, one hell of a first day back on the job.
[Police sirens wailing]
Chad: [Panting] "Serena mason found dead in Salem park. A police department spokesperson would only say that ms. Mason's body was found in the park near the Horton town square." [Exhales sharply] The park? The park. I didn't follow her to the park. All right, calm down. Think. You were drinking with her at the club. You grabbed her, you kissed her, she belted you and walked out. And you got mad and followed her to the square. The two of you were yelling, and then... and then...
Maggie: Ah, I just got back from the Salem historical society. You're not gonna believe all the information they have on that house that you donated to the bicentennial. I mean, I think we're gonna be able to make this an authentic reproduction of the way it was when it was... when it was the town brothel.
Victor: Well, if anyone can do it, dear, you can.
Maggie: [Laughs] Hmm, you didn't listen to a word I said.
Victor: I'm sorry. I was thinking about the titan board meeting.
Maggie: Well, I'm sure you were, but that's not the only thing that's on your mind.
Victor: Wha--what, are you a mind reader now?
Maggie: Ah, when it comes to you, I am. You're worried about Caroline, aren't you?
[Heart monitor beeping]
Caroline: I do remember you telling me that-- before I went to the memory clinic with Bo... that you would always take care of me.
Victor: And I meant every word of it.
[Knock at door]
Kayla: Hello. You ready to blow this pop stand?
Caroline: I guess so.
Kayla: What's the matter? Are you not feeling well?
Caroline: No, no, no, I'm fine. I'm fine. Just... I feel a little nervous.
Kayla: Can you tell me why?
Caroline: I wish I could.
Abigail: No. No, he's not responsible for this.
Clyde: Well, what do you think, Ben? You saw Chad and Serena at the club.
Ben: They weren't fighting when I saw them. He was coming on to her and she was liking it.
Abigail: What, he was coming on to Serena? I didn't even know that he knew her.
Clyde: Well, he was definitely trying to change that situation last night and he must have gone too far 'cause she smacked him right across the face.
[Ben exhales sharply]
Clyde: I don't think young Chad's used to getting that kind of reaction from a woman, but he did not like it one bit. She walked out, he took right off after her.
Ben: So, if he was that mad...
Clyde: And drunk. They were tossing them back for a good, long while.
Ben: You have to admit, it's possible he did this. He was drunk and he was mad. He's a DiMera.
Chad: [Exhales sharply] You were loaded last night. Acting like a big man. People saw you. Yeah, so the cops are gonna find out what you were doing. They're gonna find out, so... you damn well better have some answers. Answers. Answers. [Exhales sharply]
Victor: Thank you.
Victor: You know, you're right, as usual. Caroline having a stroke when she was already in such a fragile condition it-- it really shook me up.
Maggie: I can see why. Kayla said that it was a mild stroke and there won't be any lasting effects.
Victor: I know, I heard her. God knows Caroline's a fighter. It's just... when something like that happens to someone that you're close to, it...
Maggie: You start wondering if you're next.
Victor: Yes, I should be reconciled with my own mortality, but I'm not.
Maggie: Hmm. You know what? None of us are. You know, nobody can really tell what's coming. So it just seems to me that you have to live every day and take care of yourself and live every day to the hilt.
Victor: You're absolutely right.
Maggie: Am I?
Maggie: [Gasps] Wha--
Julie: Hello. Hello. Uh, Henderson said that I could just come in.
Victor: Another meeting about the centennial celebration?
Maggie: Yeah, what else? What else?
Victor: It's time for me to leave.
Julie: Are you gonna ditch all our meetings, Victor?
Victor: I have a board meeting at the hospital, all right?
Maggie: All right, honey. See ya later.
Julie: So long, Victor. Well, last night, Doug and I got to talking and we came up with some absolutely wonderful ideas for the bicentennial.
Kayla: Well, your blood pressure is in the normal range.
Kayla: Maybe I should just keep you here for another day or two.
Caroline: Oh, please. Not one more day in this bed. I will go nuts. No, no, no. Keeping busy is what I need.
Kayla: Do you really think that you were gonna go from this to running the pub?
Caroline: Running the pub keeps me from getting squirrely.
Kayla: You know, mom, maybe all this anxiety is just the aftermath from going from a-- well, through a really scary experience.
Caroline: Well, yeah, I think you--you may be right.
Rafe: I hope the coroner's report gives us something useful.
Hope: Yeah, well, we already know how she was murdered. Strangled with a necktie. Makes it seem so--
Hope: When I heard how Serena had been murdered, the first person I thought of, Xander cook.
Rafe: Yeah, those two had a thing, didn't they?
Hope: Mm-hmm. It was a long time ago. Still, Serena wasn't exactly cooperative when we wanted questioned her about him.
Rafe: Yeah, about whether he was responsible for what to Eric and Nicole?
Rafe: Hey, do you think that she was loyal to him, or afraid of him?
Hope: I don't know, but no matter what it was--
Rafe: Oh, he was picked up yesterday, you know?
Hope: Yeah, but he hasn't been arraigned yet. He's still in jail.
Rafe: Unless he reached out to whoever tried to kill Eric and Nicole.
Hope: Yeah, if only we could prove that.
Aiden: Hey, I just heard what happened.
Hope: Yeah, uh, listen, I might have to cancel our plans tonight.
Rafe: Hey, don't worry, I got it covered.
Hope: Are you sure?
Rafe: Yeah, yeah. Absolutely.
Aiden: Thanks, Rafe, I have a little surprise for my lady tonight.
Hope: He wouldn't even give me a hint.
Aiden: Well, no hints, but I will leave you with this. Okay.
Abigail: No, no. There's no way you are going to convince me that Chad is a killer. I don't care what his last name is.
Ben: Okay. Okay. I'm sorry I said that.
Clyde: Hey, I think Ben's got a point, you know? I mean, Chad's been getting all his old man's attention since EJ died. Stefano thinks a DiMera should be able to do whatever they want and get whatever they want.
Abigail: Chad never wants to be like his father. He knows his father is a very dangerous man. He never wants to turn out like him.
Ben: Okay, look. I don't want to get you all upset, okay? Look at me. But, Abigail, you know from experience how Chad treats women. Not just you. Look what he did to my sister and to Rafe's sister, Gabi. Did you tell me that he stood up at her wedding and said that will was the father of her baby and not the guy she was marrying?
Abigail: Okay, you're right. Yes, you're right about all of it, but he never killed any of them.
Ben: I'm sorry. It's just that I've seen up close what a mean bastard Chad can be.
Abigail: You know, I don't-- I don't think we should talk about this anymore because, I mean, it's, uh-- we don't know anything for sure and it's wrong to speculate about something. Especially something this serious.
Ben: You're right. You're right.
Abigail: I should get to work.
Ben: I love you.
Abigail: I love you too.
Serena: Who can I thank for this?
Serena: Serena. I'm in debt to you.
Chad: Ah, come on, what fun would that be?
Serena: [Whimpers, panting] You need to learn that no means no.
Chad: But what happened after that?
Rafe: Where'd you find that?
Hope: Oh, right over there behind that tree. Probably means nothing.
[Cell phone rings]
Rafe: Eh, I wish the damn weather hadn't been so hot and dry. I couldn't find one usable footprint in the vicinity. Hey, look at that. They traced Serena's cell last night. According to this she was at the courthouse, the hospital and the town square. She made her last call in the vicinity of club TBD.
Hope: Follow up on this?
Hope: I'm gonna get back to the station. I have a few questions for Mr. Cook. Thanks, Rafe.
Rafe: Yeah, I got it.
[Cell phone vibrates]
Roman: You know, you going back to the ISA, it doesn't just affect you. It affects my kids' mother.
John: You been talking to Marlena?
Roman: John, do you have any idea how scared she was for you every minute you were in the ISA?
John: It won't be the same this time.
Roman: I hope not. You put that woman through a lot the last several years. Don't top it off by getting hurt or getting yourself killed.
Clyde: So how are you and Abigail doing?
Ben: Great. We were just in the bookstore. Abigail's reading everything she can possibly find on how to make sure you have a healthy baby.
Clyde: Good for her.
Ben: Hmm. I started looking through those baby books too. Man, the way they grow and change that first year...
Clyde: Yeah, you're in for quite an adventure.
Ben: I'm not gonna miss a minute of it.
Clyde: Dr. Evans.
Marlena: Hello, Clyde. Hello, Ben.
Marlena: Nice to see you.
Ben: Nice to see you too. Hey, Abigail told me to do the grocery shopping, so I'd better be going.
Clyde: Good man. You do not want that woman coming home hungry and finding out there's nothing to eat.
Ben: [Laughs] See you.
Marlena: Mm-hmm. Clyde, I wanted to apologize for canceling our last session on such short notice. I had a family emergency.
Clyde: Don't you worry about it. Actually, the only reason I was coming to that session was to tell you that I'm done.
Marlena: Oh, with therapy?
Clyde: Mm-hmm. I feel a whole lot better thanks to you. So I won't be needing your help anymore.
Abigail: What are you doing here?
Chad: I just--I had to see where it all happened.
Abigail: [Whispers] Um... Chad, I hea-- I heard something.
Chad: About me?
Abigail: Is it true you might have been the last person to see Serena alive?
Kayla: Um... I might as well tell you that, um... I'm feeling kind of anxious today myself.
Caroline: Oh, really? What is it, sweetheart?
Kayla: Well, you know, um, Joey went to Ohio to go back to school last week.
Caroline: Yeah, I know.
Kayla: Well, since he said goodbye to me at the airport, I haven't heard one word from him. He hasn't returned any of phone calls, he hasn't answered my texts. You haven't heard from him, have you?
Caroline: Well, no, it's just a week. I mean, he's a 16-year-old boy.
Kayla: I know, it's just that, you know, we've always been so close and it's just not like him to be so out of touch.
Caroline: He hasn't seen his friends all summer, maybe he's just catching up.
Kayla: Yeah. It's just, you know, we were always everything to each other ever since Steve and I broke up, or when Steve would be off on one of his adventures. I just wish that he would call and let me know that he's okay.
Caroline: Well, why don't you contact the school, make sure everything's all right. Joey doesn't even have to know about it.
Kayla: All right.
Kayla: You're right. You're always right. I'm gonna do that. Okay. I love you. Ugh.
Marlena: Well, that's your decision, obviously, but--
Clyde: But, you think I'm making a mistake? You think I could use another couple of years on the couch wallowing in self-pity?
Marlena: No, I don't think that. I would never call it wallowing. I would hope that no patient of mine would ever think of it that way. I do think we made a lot of progress toge--
Clyde: I don't care what you think. Listen, I appreciate your concern for my mental health, but the truth is, I think I've told you everything that I have to say. And now, I'm, uh-- I'm ready to face things on my own. You know, I'm a different man 'cause of you. I look in the mirror now I'm-- I'm kinda proud of what I see.
Marlena: So a couple sessions of psychotherapy and you're cured? That's amazing.
Clyde: Well, you're obviously very good at what you do.
Marlena: You're obviously very sure of yourself.
Clyde: I thought confidence was a good thing.
Marlena: Well, it is, unless it blinds you to reality.
Clyde: Oh, it hasn't at all. As a matter of fact, I see things clearer now than I ever have before. You take care now.
Rafe: So this woman was in here last night?
She and my boss put a dent in a bottle of expensive scotch.
Rafe: By your boss, you mean Chad DiMera?
Rafe: You happen to know if they left here together?
No, they were still here when my shift ended, but it looked like they were getting real chummy.
Chad: Uh--[Clears throat] So, uh, who told you I was the last person to see her alive?
Abigail: Ben's father. Clyde Weston. He said he saw you and Serena at TBD.
Chad: That guy's got a big mouth.
Abigail: Chad, that's not all he said.
Chad: Wha--te--tell me. What--wha--
Abigail: He said you and Serena had a pretty big fight. Listen, Chad, if Clyde is--is shooting off his mouth, then the police are gonna hear about it and they're gonna want to talk to you.
Chad: Okay, you don't think I know that?
Abigail: Then tell me. Tell me first. What did you do after Serena left the club?
Julie: The Salem historical society had all this material? I never would've thought to ask about the history of just one particular house.
Maggie: Me, neither. Jennifer suggested it to me.
Julie: Can you believe she's had to resign from the board of the Horton center?
Maggie: No, but she didn't have much of a choice. Not until they can prove that JJ wasn't dealing drugs from there.
Julie: [Scoffs] Jennifer. She's had it so rough with that kid.
Maggie: Yeah. Well, I just pray that it gets cleared up quickly.
Julie: You know what makes me sad? It's gonna make everybody sad. Grandma and grandpa won't be there.
Julie: They're not there for the big bicentennial celebration. The good part is, they're also not there to see what JJ has gotten in to.
Maggie: Yeah. Well, hopefully, he will exonerate himself. Honey, even if tom and Alice aren't there, the Horton family will still be well represented.
[Laughter] You bet.
Julie: You bet. It is gonna be exciting. I think this is the biggest thing that's happened in Salem in years. I just hope everybody turns out for it.
Maggie: Yeah, I hope that when they do-- well, we'd been able to pull it together in time.
Julie: Oh, it isn't until November.
Maggie: November? Sweetheart, it's not that far off.
Julie: Well, in that case, I guess we'd better get our... rears in gear.
Maggie: Yeah, well said. Okay.
Julie: What's next?
Maggie: All right. Oh, yeah. Here we go.
[Heart monitor beeping]
Marlena: Oh, thank you for joining me.
John: Sure. So how's Eric doing?
Marlena: Eric is devastated. He feels some guilt about what happened with Serena.
John: He didn't cause this.
Marlena: No, no, no, no. I know that, but... they were not on good terms and he thought she might have drinking because of that. Oh, are those the things from your desk at the police station?
John: Yeah. I'm not a cop anymore.
Marlena: You're about to be an agent of the ISA.
John: Well, we talked about this, doc, I'm not gonna let it come between us again. I made a promise.
Marlena: I am going to hold you to it.
John: But there is something you should know. There is one more major change I'm about to make.
Chad: Uh, Serena left the club...
Abigail: After you got into that fight, she walked out?
Chad: Whe--when she left... I-I realized I was pretty wasted, so I-I left too. I went to the Salem inn and then I booked a room.
Abigail: Why-- why would you go there? Why wouldn't you just go home?
Chad: The old man kicked me out.
Chad: Yeah. I am officially persona non grata. The errant son.
Abigail: Oh, my God. Chad, I am so sorry.
Chad: It's not your fault.
Abigail: Well, I mean, it-- it kind of is in a way, right?
Abigail: Seriously, though, I mean, the reason your father disowned you, it has to be because of how you... protected me...from him. Telling me that he was trying to take away the land I'm supposed to inherit.
Chad: He expects his family to toe the line. I've--you know, I've been a huge disappointment to him, obviously.
Abigail: Well... Chad, I hope you don't believe that at all. A disappointment in him? Are you kidding me? You were incredibly brave and what you did was... selfless.
Chad: It was the right thing to do.
Abigail: I appreciate that you knew that. And that you chose to sacrifice so much by doing it. In a way I'm glad that it happened because I never got a chance to thank you... for protecting me from your father. Like I said, you've given up so much.
Chad: You know I go around telling people I don't like to be a part of the DiMera family. It's about time I put my money where my mouth is. Or his. [Chuckles] I don't have any anymore.
Abigail: I'm sure you're gonna be fine.
Chad: Yeah, let's hope so.
Abigail: You will. Chad, you have so much drive and you are so-- you are so smart. You're gonna make it on your own, I know you will.
Chad: I appreciate your faith in me, Abby.
Abigail: Well, I'm just-- I'm just glad you're not gonna be around your father anymore because you are such a better person than he is.
Chad: [Laughs] Talk about damning with faint praise.
Abigail: All right, I-I--what I meant to say is that you're a good person. Chad, I know-- I know you've lost your way sometimes 'cause of all the painful stuff you've had to deal with in your life.
Chad: Well, so have you. We have that in common.
Abigail: Yeah. Yeah. Anyway, I--I know that you are nothing like your father.
Chad: Let's just hope the cops think the same thing.
Abigail: My God. Who would do this to Serena?
Chad: I don't know. Before last night I'd never talked to her before.
Abigail: Why'd you guys end up fighting?
Chad: We just-- I-- we just had too much to drink. You know how that goes. And she was upset when she got there.
Abigail: Uh, about what? What was she-- [Clears throat]
Chad: I have to-- I have to go.
Abigail: Yeah, I have to get to work too.
Chad: Uh, don't work too hard. Just don't worry about all this. You have the--you have the-- the baby to think about.
Abigail: I know. And I do all the time.
Chad: I am happy for you. Really.
John: I have decided that it's--it's time I sold my interest in basic black.
Marlena: Wow. Does Brady know about this?
John: I'm not gonna do anything until he and I are on the same page.
Marlena: But you are determined to sell?
Marlena: Ah, this comes at a time when you're also decided to go back to your work at the ISA.
John: Oh, come on, doc, you know that I've been tired of the corporate world for quite some time now.
Marlena: Yes. So is this your way of removing all distractions from your life so you can focus completely on your work at the ISA?
John: Okay. I did realize that if I were to rejoin the ISA, I wouldn't be able to carry my fair share of the load at basic black, but if you really wanna know where my full-time focus is going to be... that is, if you'll have me.
Marlena: Oh, you're very good at this, aren't you?
John: This isn't a sell job, doc. I'm just trying to find a way to make you believe that nothing comes before you in my life. How about if I asked you to marry me? Would that do the trick?
[Heart monitor beeping]
Caroline: Victor? What are you doing here?
Victor: Oh, I had a board meeting. I just thought I'd stop in and see you.
Caroline: Oh. Oh, I've been waiting for Kayla to tell me when I could go home. I guess I fell asleep.
Victor: Well, you didn't seem to be having a very peaceful sleep.
Caroline: I had a dream.
Victor: Apparently not a happy one.
Caroline: It was horrible. It was about Bo.
Hope: I just came from questioning Xander cook about Serena.
Roman: How'd it go?
Hope: Well, he seemed shocked when I told him that Serena had been murdered.
Roman: I'll bet he did. How else is the bastard gonna act?
Hope: True, but you know what? I checked the log, he hasn't had any visitors. And his phone was confiscated after he called his attorney.
Roman: Well, he could've used somebody from the inside to set the hit up. Probably not. Probably not. Damn, I hope that necktie leads us to the owner.
Hope: Rafe and I told the lab to work overtime on that.
Aiden: Am I interrupting?
Hope: Oh... Aiden, I'm sorry, um, I know we have this date tonight, and I know you've probably put a lot into it. But Roman and I just started going over the case about Serena and there's so much work to do.
Aiden: Yeah, but didn't Rafe volunteer to handle all of that just for tonight, or...
Hope: He did...
Hope: Promise, uh, say that, yes.
Aiden: Okay. All right, well, I guess I can cancel all my plans that I made so that, uh...
Roman: Hope, you know what? Why don't you get the hell out of here?
Hope: Are you sure?
Roman: Yes, I am sure. Rafe will be on this tonight just like Aiden said. Just make sure you are back bright and early in the morning. Okay?
Chad: Don't worry, I'm on my way out. I just came back for my stuff. Harold's gonna send the rest. You'll never have to lay eyes on me again. And, uh...that's everything but the main gate. I left it on another keychain and I can't find it, so I'll just mail it to you when I do.
Stefano: It did not have to be this way, you know that? If you had only done as I asked.
Chad: And set Abigail up for you?
Stefano: We could have both had what we wanted.
Chad: You'd have a stupid piece of land and I'd have the knowledge I swindled the woman I love.
Stefano: That "stupid piece of land" would have cemented the fortune of this family, for goodness' sake.
Chad: I know, I know. You've told me that several times. I betrayed you and, uh, Giovanni and Sydney and Theo-- my sister's only child. Oh, no, my God, how could I be so disloyal, so cruel, when all you've ever done is show me so much love and support?
Stefano: Yes. That is exactly what I wonder. And you wanna know something? I know that this doesn't matter to you in the slightest... you have also broken my heart.
Kayla: Hello, uh, thank you for getting back to me. I know how busy you are. Um, it's just that I'm just a little concerned about my son. What? What--what do you mean he didn't arrive? I took him to the plane myself. He didn't? And no--no one from the school called me? No, I most certainly did not write a letter explaining his absence. So you're telling me that you have absolutely no idea where my son is right now?
Marlena: Are you thinking that was a marriage proposal?
John: It wasn't.
Marlena: Good. That's good. Because it would take a lot more than that to convince me that you're ready to be in for the long haul.
John: I kinda thought that marriage was the ultimate commitment.
Marlena: Hmm. How many times have we walked down the aisle? Five? I would not call that ultimate. And, you know, marriage-- marriage is not a thing that you do to prove a point. At least it shouldn't be.
John: Okay, what's your idea of what it should be?
Marlena: I think marriage is A... a celebration of two people who know they wanna spend the rest of their lives together.
John: Okay. So what can I say to convince you that's what I want?
Marlena: It's not what you say.
John: Got it.
Stefano: I cannot believe that it has come to this. And we--we became so close, for goodness' sake, over these last two years.
Chad: Do you really think so? 'Cause looking back now, it feels like you were-- you were just playing me the whole time.
Stefano: All I wanted was for you to be happy.
Chad: If you say that one more time...
Stefano: I don't have to say it over and over, it's true.
Chad: You saw that I wanted Abigail and you tried to use it to get what you wanted. Just like you always did with EJ, Kristen, tony. I'm not gonna end up like them. Look at me. I'm gonna make a life for myself and I'm gonna do it as far away as I can from the DiMera shadow.
Stefano: What a stupid thing to say and do.
Rafe: Oh, hey, guys. Harold said it would be okay if I came on up. Is it a bad time?
Chad: What do you want? Where'd you get that? A yard sale?
Rafe: Oh, that's a good one. I've actually been reinstated. If you don't believe me, you can call Abe. He'll verify it. And I was thinking, actually, as one of my first official acts, you and I could have a little talk about Serena mason.
Kayla: I want you to call every single one of Joey's friends and his roommate and you find out who has heard from him! Do you understand me? And I don't mean that you do this later, you do it right now! Do you understand? No. No, that's it. That's it. I-I-I have to go because I need to call my brother the police commissioner. Joey! Joey! Oh, my God! I was just about to call the police. Where have you been? [Cries]
Steve: Hello, sweetness. It's been a while, huh?
Aiden: It's a far cry from our first date, huh?
Hope: Oh, my gosh, that awful restaurant in Chicago--
Hope: Where they spilled the spaghetti on you.
Aiden: Oh, no!
Hope: Then they had that kitchen fire.
Aiden: No, I think the only thing you got to eat were those chocolate mints, right?
Hope: They were pretty good, though. Yeah.
Aiden: They were delicious.
Hope: They were delicious.
Aiden: They were delicious, but I figured, "oh, that's it. I blew it. She's never gonna want to see me again."
Hope: Yeah, well, you know what, Mr. Jennings, you... you figured wrong, didn't you?
Victor: Why don't you tell me about your dream? That way, maybe, you won't have it again.
[Heart monitor beeping]
Caroline: Bo was alone in this... dark, filthy place. I called his name, he didn't hear me.
Aiden: We've come a long way from that night, huh?
Hope: We sure have.
And every day... I've fallen more and more in love with you. Hope, I never want that to end.
Caroline: I tried to go to him, I couldn't move. And then... I saw he was in... terrible pain.
Aiden: Hope... will you marry me?
Caroline: [Inhales sharply] Vic-- I have dreamed about Bo many times, but it was not like this. This was real. It was terrifying.
