Nicole: You know something? It's beautiful out there-- stars everywhere, gorgeous moon. After dinner, we should take a walk down by the river. It'll be perfect. Just like here in my new home. Daniel, what's wrong?
Theresa: Okay, so just hang here for a minute and then ring the bell. Say all the right things and, voilà, you'll be the answer we've been looking for. Oh, for god's sake, spit your gum out. I meant in a piece of just-- never mind. Okay, here we go. Brady, I'm back.
Brady: In here.
Theresa: Oh, okay, great. We can pick up where we left off.
Brady: Theresa, we can finally stop looking. I have found the perfect nanny.
Aiden: Okay, just keep digging. I want to know everything there is to know about Clyde Weston. Great. All right, well, call me back when you got any more, okay? Thanks, bye.
Rafe: Hey, man. Sorry about that. Didn't mean to startle you. You know, your assistant's gone, the light's on.
Aiden: Yeah. What's up?
Rafe: Well, I was just passing by and right here I have the starting lineup for the little league all-star game. Thought you might want to take a look.
Aiden: Rafe, I hope I can trust your discretion about anything you might have just heard.
Rafe: Of course.
Martin: Mr. Weston, we all know how generous that you have been to the hospital. And for you to make another donation is--it's amazing. So on behalf of my entire department, thank you.
Clyde: Well, you do important work for not a lot of money, martin. You deserve a raise. But before I could sign off on that, I need a favor.
Martin: What kind of favor?
Clyde: I understand that you're the fella that handles all the paternity cases that run from the lab, right?
Clyde: Well, you'll be receiving one very soon that I have a vested interest in.
Chad: Will, what's the word? What did-- Zoe. Hi. I thought you were-- uh-huh. Right, yeah, I remember. No, sorry, I can't make it. Something came up. Yeah, I know, I should have told you. Look, I've just had a lot on my mind and I'm actually waiting-- waiting on a call and it's-- it's--it's really important. Uh-huh. Okay, bye.
Ben: I can't help wondering, what's as important as all that?
Will: Abigail. Abigail!
Will: Chad is in love with you.
Abigail: [Laughs] That's ridiculous.
Abigail: He actually said that? He actually said those words? He said that he is in love with me?
Will: Yeah, he did.
Serena: You can't even look me in the eye, can you? You hypocrite.
Daniel: I, uh... I just had a visitor.
Nicole: Who clearly upset you. Who was it, and what did they want?
Serena: Eric. Don't you want to know what I finally found out? The truth about you? Looks like I'm not the only one who's good at keeping secrets.
Daniel: It's nothing important.
Nicole: What's this?
Daniel: My mom gave me potential dates to throw us an engagement party. [Laughs]
Nicole: Oh. Wow. First a ring, now a party. It feels so real, all of a sudden.
Daniel: Because it is. And I hope you know how much I love you. I really do.
Nicole: I know, Daniel. And I love you even more. Honey, talk to me. What is going on?
Daniel: You know, I guess the only one who could answer that... is you. Woman: How are you doing in there baby girl?
Brady: What do you mean, no?
Theresa: Excuse us for just a moment. Look, I don't know who this woman is, but we can't make a decision yet, okay? The agency's sending over another candidate. She'll be here any minute.
Theresa: That's probably her now.
Brady: Okay, so listen. This woman comes highly recommended. Her résumé's impeccable.
Theresa: Yeah, have you actually interviewed her yet?
Brady: No. No, but I can tell she's a thousand times more qualified than any other candidate that that agency has sent us.
Theresa: Okay, but how do you know that she's better than this one?
Brady: Theresa, I don't-- I have to get back to the office. I don't have time to conduct two interviews right now.
Theresa: Yeah, but it would be so rude to tell this other woman who schlepped all the way over here just never mind.
Theresa: Oh, god. What is the point of having a butler if I have to always answer the door myself?
Hope: Hi. Oh, hi.
Rafe: Oh, hi.
Hope: I'm sorry, bad time?
Aiden: It's a perfect time.
Rafe: No, no, I was just dropping off the roster for little league all-star game on my way to work. Congratulations to chase.
Aiden: Thank you very much.
Aiden: Yeah, yeah.
Rafe: All right, well, I will see you soon.
Hope: Actually, you know what, very soon, because I am here to persuade Mr. Jennings that it is quitting time. We so deserve a night of dancing.
Rafe: Wow, how about that? I'd listen to her if I were you.
Aiden: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Absolutely, okay. Oh.
Hope: You're not gonna be a hard sell, are you?
Aiden: Baby, let me tell you something, you could sell me anything any time anywhere anyplace. Especially in this beautiful outfit of yours.
Hope: Why, thank you. Wow. That was a lot easier than I anticipated. Why are you here so late anyway? What's keeping you?
Martin: You know what? I'm gonna leave, and I'm gonna pretend that this conversation never happened.
Clyde: Sit down. I was hoping to do this the easy way, martin, but apparently, that's not gonna be possible. So I'd like you to call patty, that pretty, little wife of yours. Would you do that for me?
Clyde: Well, I know she's at home right now with your baby girl, Catherine. That is her name, isn't it?
Martin: Yes, but I don't--
Clyde: I want you to take out your phone and call her. But do not panic her. That would be no good for anybody. You just tell her you're gonna be running a little late this evening.
Martin: Hi, honey. It's--it's me. Listen, I'm running a little late. What? A guy from the city inspector's office, he's there, in the house?
Abigail: In love with me. Hmm. God, he never gives it a rest, does he? What does he want this time?
Will: I'm pretty sure that he meant it.
Abigail: Well, I am completely sure that he didn't.
Will: Abigail, you know that Chad and I have our issues, too. But don't you think that considering everything going on in your life right now that maybe you should-- you should hear him out?
Abigail: Will, I have. I have heard him out. I have heard him out way too many times. I mean, if you heard some of the hateful things that he said to me, you would never--
Will: Maybe he had a reason.
Abigail: Yeah, he did, will, he did have a reason. It's because he is a sick, cruel person who enjoys making people's lives miserable.
Will: Or maybe he was just trying to push you away.
Abigail: Well, mission accomplished a long time ago.
Will: Except, not really. Right? I mean, otherwise you wouldn't exactly be in this place right now. And look, Abigail, I don't pretend to have the answers.
Will: But you won't either, unless you sit down and you talk to Chad.
Abigail: Will, I did. I talked to Chad, okay? He came to my office today, and all he said was he was lying about lying. It just made my head spin. I mean, god, will, do you-- do you have any idea how little energy I have for this right now?
Will: I bet. But don't you think that now is the time to have this conversation before--
Abigail: Before what?
Will: Before you find out who the father of your child is.
Nicole: I don't understand. What do you mean?
Daniel: I have loved you for a long time, Nicole. And I want to be with you always. I don't--I don't ever want to be without you in this life.
Nicole: Well, good. 'Cause you're stuck with me. [Laughs] Oh, Daniel, I am happier than I've ever been. And I am so grateful that we've been able to move past the hard stuff and focus on moving forward. And I-I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you.
Daniel: And in the interest of moving forward, I just need to know. I need to know that nothing has been left behind.
Nicole: Left behind?
Daniel: Left unsaid between us.
Brady: I owe you an apology. I was not aware that your appointment was made so early, and ms. Donovan was not aware that I had found another potential candidate.
Brady: I'm sorry this is awkward, but we've-- well, we've seen a number of unsuitable applicants from the agency. So I went ahead and I phoned a friend for a recommendation. And it turns out, Emma here has had many, many years with children. And she was also available to come over today at this time.
Theresa: Oh, what amazing timing. But if Brady's friend adored you so much, why are you available?
Emma: I love those kids like my own, but they're old enough that they don't really need a nanny anymore. And when Mr. Black expressed a need, it just seemed meant to be.
Brady: And I'm sorry, you, miss?
Megan: Crabtree. I love kids so much that the agency asked me to come out of retirement to do this gig, but I had to take two buses to get over here so if you're gonna ask me to come back just to interview later, no. And if you already know it's not gonna work out, eh.
Emma: I could come back.
Brady: No, no, no. No. No. Absolutely not. We--we--we appreciate both of your time. It's just that I have an appointment at my office that requires my attention. So in order to not inconvenience you any further, I was hoping that I could interview you both at the same time.
Emma: Of course.
Aiden: I was just doing some legwork...
Aiden: On a case.
Hope: Hmm. Are you sure that I am not pulling you away from anything?
Aiden: Baby, let me tell you something, you are pulling me towards something very, very important and that is you. And this will all be here tomorrow and I'm not gonna give it another thought until then, so please just give me a kiss right now.
Martin: No, no, I'm sure there's nothing to worry about. The guy from the city, he's just doing his job. Okay, sit tight. I'll be home soon. I love you. What the hell do you want--
Clyde: Before you say another word, or even think about contacting the authorities, I want you to think about how easy it was for me to get my man inside your house. I can change you life forever, martin, with one short phone call. I don't think you want that, do you? No, I didn't think so. Are you gonna cooperate according to the terms that we just outlined?
Martin: Yes. But there's a lot-- I don't even know what you want from me.
Clyde: Dr. Kayla Brady is gonna come to you with a paternity test. She already has. Has it been finished?
Martin: No. No, tomorrow.
Clyde: Okay. And I'll bet she said it was completely confidential, didn't she?
Martin: All of my work is.
Clyde: Right. The potential father, where are you getting his DNA from?
Martin: His, um-- his blood work results were already in the hospital records database.
Clyde: Okay. I'll call you later tonight with further instructions.
Martin: That's it?
Clyde: Yeah. You're free to go. But if you even think about doing a stupid move, like calling the police, I will know about it. You don't want to live with the consequences. Okay. You go on home to your wife and little child.
Ben: Abigail's working late. I'm meeting her at home in a little while. Not that that's any of your business, but...
Chad: Well, you started the conversation by asking about my phone call, which, for the record, is none of your business.
[Cell phone alert rings]
Chad: Did you want me to check that incoming text for you?
Ben: I have to go.
Chad: Always a pleasure, Ben. Hope we can make it on that basketball court again soon.
Ben: Yeah. Me, too.
Chad: Come on, will, make it happen.
Will: Abigail, if this is Chad's baby, if he finds out that you're pregnant with his child, do you really think you can believe a word that he says?
Abigail: Will, if you-- if you even gave him the slightest hint, if you said anything at all--
Will: No, no, no, Abigail. He has no idea that you're pregnant. If he did, he'd be banging down that door right now. Look, I'm just saying. Now is the time to have a conversation before things get any more complicated. That way you know that he doesn't have an agenda.
Abigail: Come-- he's a DiMera, he--he always has an agenda.
Will: That may be true, but I really think right now he just wants to let you know how he feels.
Abigail: Why? Why now?
Will: Because things with you and Ben are-- they're getting serious. He wants to talk to you before they go any further.
Abigail: Well, I mean, it's a little late for that, don't you think?
Will: But you see what I'm saying, right? So can you just hear Chad out?
Serena: Look, I just need you to hear-- I just need you to hear on thing, and then I'll leave you alone forever if that's what you want.
Eric: Yeah, it's what I want.
Serena: I need you to understand that what I'm about to say is because I truly, truly want what's best for you. So please, don't do it.
Eric: Do what?
Serena: Make the worst mistake of your life.
Nicole: Are you feeling like I was feeling a few hours ago? Like, oh, god, this is it! We're getting married. I promise I will not be a Bridezilla.
Daniel: That's-- that's not-- that's not what I'm worried about.
Nicole: Then what?
Daniel: Is there anything, anything about what we've been through in the last few months, anything at all, that I still don't know that I should know?
Emma: Oh, my goodness. That is the sweetest face I've ever seen. He looks so much like you.
Megan: Oh! He is a cutie.
Emma: May I?
Emma: [Babbles] Oh. Oh, the stranger anxiety is usually pretty intense right now. He's so laid-back.
Brady: He's not always laid-back. There he goes.
Theresa: Ms. Crabtree should get a chance to hold him, too.
Brady: It's okay.
Emma: It's okay. There you go.
Brady: There. [Chuckles]
Megan: You know what? You got the job. I'm outta here.
Theresa: Excuse me. Wait. Why the hell did you do that?
Megan: You are never gonna convince daddy Warbucks in there to hire me over Julie freaking Andrews.
Theresa: You're mixing your musical metaphors.
Megan: Oh, speaking of metaphors, I'd rather be playing keno than a stacked deck like you.
Theresa: What is that supposed to mean?
Megan: Anybody can take care of a kid, but for a mother to want the less-qualified nanny--
Theresa: Wait, you're perfectly qualified.
Megan: Not for the job you want me to do, which is to convince Brady what a great little mother and all-around swell person you are. You should've hired an actress, 'cause that's a load of crap.
Theresa: How dare you.
Megan: Honey... [Laughs] You couldn't pay me enough to work for you, and what you were offering was an insult anyway.
Theresa: If this is a salary negotiation tactic, then I suggest that you present yourself with something other than an incompetent--
Megan: Oh, speaking of incompetent, you need to face reality and her name is Emma. That baby practically leaped out of your arms to get to her. So good luck, missy. You're gonna need it. [Laughs]
Rafe: Well, it's not like I want to ask you for another favor, Tim. But I'm telling you, I think that Weston's up to something. Well, I don't know exactly, but can you just check the FBI database and see if they have any active investigations going on him?
Clyde: Hey, thanks for meeting me.
Ben: Everything okay?
Clyde: Well, I just talked to Aiden. I don't trust that man anymore. I've got a guy doing a background check on him, but is there anything else you can remember about what he said?
Ben: I already told you everything I know about him.
Clyde: All right. Well, if you remember anything new, or Aiden calls you again, you let me know, all right?
Clyde: Oh, did I mention that I saw Abigail at the hospital earlier?
Ben: No. What were you doing at the hospital?
Clyde: I was just taking another tour. I'm thinking about donating money again.
Ben: Wow, that's incredibly generous.
Clyde: Well, it's such a great facility, you know. I mean, that's what people tell me. I've never been treated there myself. Have you?
Abigail: There's no way I'm going back to the DiMera mansion.
Will: I'm sure Chad will be perfectly happy to come here.
Abigail: But I--
Will: Look, sonny and I, we're going out to dinner. Ari's with a sitter. You'll have complete privacy.
Abigail: You know, Chad's probably busy.
Will: He's--he's at a park right now waiting for a call. I told you, he really meant it.
Will: Can I tell him yes?
Abigail: [Sighs] [Sniffles] [Sighs] Yeah, fine. Fine. I'll do it.
[Cell phone rings]
Will: She's here waiting for you.
Chad: Okay, I really appreciate your help, man. All right, I'm gonna be there in a few.
Nicole: Daniel, I-- [Cries] Yes... there is. There is something you don't know. The night Xander tried to kill me and Eric... Eric and I almost made love.
Rafe: After you.
Hope: Thanks, Rafe.
Aiden: There's a table. Oh, okay.
Hope: Where are we going?
Rafe: Right here.
Hope: Wow, gentleman.
Aiden: Oh, oh, wait, wait.
Aiden: I love this song. I love that--care to dance? We have to do this.
Hope: I would love to.
Aiden: Okay, come here, you. Come here.
Singer: Baby you got me feeling things you know just what I like yeah it's the way you kiss me your arms around me
Will: You sure you'll be okay here by yourself? I can wait...
Abigail: I don't--
Will: With you if you want me to.
Abigail: No. Thank you, but I'm-- I can handle Chad on my own.
Will: I'm sure you can. Good luck.
Abigail: Yeah. Thank you, will.
Will: I hope everything works out for you. She's inside.
Chad: Will, I can't-- I can't thank you enough.
Will: Here's how you can thank me. Don't hurt Abigail.
Chad: I won't. I promise.
Will: Better not.
Eric: What mistake am I gonna make?
Serena: You don't know?
Eric: Know what?
Serena: Please don't go back to Nicole.
Nicole: That night, Eric and I didn't think we'd make it out of there alive. And after Xander tried to strangle me and then he shot at us, and we were trapped in that air vent, and he turned the heat up, we were suffocating. Daniel, I was so afraid. I truly, truly thought I was going to die. And it was just me and Eric. [Cries]
Daniel: Then one thing lead to another, right?
Nicole: I am so sorry. I'm so sorry. [Cries]
Daniel: Hey. Hey. Listen, I saw it, the way you were acting, Eric. It all makes sense. But what I don't understand is why you didn't just tell me the truth in the first place.
Daniel: Were you ever gonna tell me?
Brady: So you can start immediately. That--that's terrific.
Theresa: Yeah, it's terrific.
Emma: I'm thrilled to be working with you and Mr. Black, and I can't wait to take care of this little angel. Yes, you are. You're a little angel.
Brady: Okay, well, Henderson--Henderson will show you around and he'll introduce you to the staff, and I'll be up to show you the nursery in just a minute, okay?
Emma: Okay, come on.
Brady: Good, we found someone, done. And she meets all of your criteria, right? So you--you agree she's great, right?
Theresa: Yeah, of course.
Brady: All right, now that we found a nanny, you can continue to search for a new place ASAP. Right?
Aiden: [Laughs] That was cool. [Whispers indistinctly]
Hope: Okay. Thank you.
Aiden: Oh, no. There's Stan Lesh.
Hope: Oh, client?
Aiden: Well, let me just go over there, say hello quickly, before he comes over to the table and wants to have a little chat that'll last all night.
Hope: If you're not back in five minutes, I'll come rescue you.
Aiden: Thank you.
Hope: You're welcome.
Give it to me give it to me give it to me give it to me, yeah
Rafe: Can I get you anything?
Hope: Yeah, you can tell me what was going on in Aiden's office earlier.
Rafe: What? No, I-- I told you, I was just there because I had the all-star roster.
Hope: I heard him ask for your discretion, Rafe. And I'm sure he wasn't talking about the pitching rotation.
Rafe: [Laughs] Well, because I am being discrete, that's all I can say.
Hope: Such a cop-out. Especially if it has to do with Clyde.
Ben: Nope, I've never been a patient there. I can't tell you the last time I even saw a doctor. I hardly ever get sick, though. Knock on wood.
Clyde: [Laughs] Well, you get your good genes from me, I think.
Clyde: But you know, being blessed with good health, I think I ought to get down to the hospital and donate some blood sometime. Though I must admit, I'm a bit squeamish.
Ben: Oh, I know the feeling.
Clyde: You've never done it, huh?
Ben: Nope. I probably should, though.
Clyde: Good man.
Nicole: I wanted to tell you so badly. And I almost did more than once, that first night you brought me home from the hospital and later with Eric.
Nicole: I just couldn't bring myself to do it. I-- I told myself that nothing really happened. We didn't make love, so what's the point of bringing up something that doesn't matter anymore or--or would hurt you? Except, I knew I was rationalizing. And I couldn't live with that lie. Shocking, I know. But how could I convince you to forgive me if I couldn't forgive myself? So I tried to give you another way out.
Daniel: When I proposed.
Nicole: God knows I tried to warn you what you were in for. But you insisted that you'd already seen the worst of me. And, oh, god, yes you have. But, Daniel, you were so understanding and so loving and you-- you truly made me feel like I was worthy of becoming your wife.
Nicole: Daniel, I-- honey, I love you. I love you so much, and I know that Eric has been a problem between us for a long time, but he is not a problem anymore because what happened that night. I was delirious I was panicked, and I-- it's not an excuse. I am just trying to tell you that it meant nothing. The only man that I love is you.
Daniel: And what about Eric?
Nicole: It was hard for Eric at first. But he prayed, and he understands now. Daniel, my love for you has never, ever wavered. I just didn't want to lose what we had. And in order to preserve that... all I could do was lie.
Brady: Well, I'm sure you can't wait to get out from under my roof and get your own place. And I honestly can't believe how well this all worked out.
Theresa: Yeah, me neither. It's--it's great. It's just super.
Theresa: [Sighs] What am I going to do?
Clyde: All right, I'm only going to say this once, so listen up. Tomorrow when you go to work, that person whose DNA you're testing for Dr. Brady, he is not the father of that baby. That understood?
Martin: Yes, sir.
Clyde: I'll be in touch.
Will: Ben, hey. How's it going?
Ben: Hey. Good.
Will: Don't let me keep you.
Ben: Oh, it's okay. I was just about to give Abigail a call.
Chad: I really appreciate you agreeing to see me.
Abigail: The only reason I did was because will asked me to.
Chad: Yeah, I-I understand.
Abigail: Let's go ahead and get this over with. Why don't you just say what you came here to say?
Eric: I guess you haven't heard. Daniel and Nicole are engaged. Serena.
Nicole: So it's all out there. You know everything about that night. Daniel... I am so sorry that I-- I didn't handle this differently and that I waited this long to tell you the truth. [Sighs] But now you know. And what I need to know is... will you forgive me? [Sniffles] Or is what the two of us have... is it over?
Hope: Wow, that was fast.
Aiden: Yeah. Rafe, can we get a bottle of champagne, please?
Rafe: Why yes, of course, sir.
Aiden: Thank you. I need to toast my lady. Oh, man. I'm very excited about this Salem bicentennial. It seems like it's gonna be a pretty big deal.
Hope: It is. It's gonna be great. It's gonna be a lot of fun.
Hope: I can't tell you how much I wish my gran and grandpa would be here to celebrate with us.
Aiden: I wish I could have met them. Because I owe Dr. and Mrs. Horton a lot. Oh.
Aiden: Gotta do-- we gotta do this again. We gotta do this again.
Aiden: You, yeah? Okay.
Hope: You're such a dancing machine.
Aiden: Tonight, I got it, girl.
