(This still needs extensive editing)

From what I could hear, it sounded like Brady black knew about the baby. No, he put some of the pieces together, but basically, he's got nothing. Do you think he'll come back? I don't know. Theresa's gonna be arriving shortly though, so we have to be very careful. Count on it. Brady's watching this place. Probably Victor will be sending his spies on us too. Unless you call the nurse. She came earlier, and I told her to come back in an hour. Wait. I spoke to the nurse. Describe her to me. American, petite, red hair. I didn't meet the nurse who was supposed to come. I thought she would have been Italian. God, you idiot.

Excuse me?

I will not. Just shut up and listen to me.

[Suspenseful music]

[Baby cooing]

Wow. Brady, this is your baby. This is your son. Oh, my god, we have to get you out of here.

Oh, john. Hi, it's me. Gosh, I hope everything is going fine there. I'm curious how things are going with Paul and curious how things are... going with us. Anyway, um, would be nice to talk to you. Will you call me? Would even be nicer to see you. Sleep tight, sweetie.

[Phone ringing]

[Suspenseful music]

[Sighs] Hello? Adrienne. I'm here. I got your message. What's wrong? What's the emergency? (Will) I'm sorry, I just don't understand why Victor would fire you. Listen, it's complicated, okay? And I'll tell you about it some other time. Right now, I know you have a lot on your plate. Well, screw what's on my plate. Why would he do this to you? The jerk! Listen, I don't want to talk about it, all right? I won't talk about it. Now, how are things going with you and sonny? I'm on my way to go see him right now. Dad, I am so sorry that you lost your job. Listen to me, it's fine. It'll work out, okay? You just go and do what you got to do. And good luck. Thanks. I'm going to need it. Well done. You don't have to pull it out of the cup the way you do most American coffee. Right, you just drop by for a cup of coffee? Can't get one at your mansion with two cooks on staff?

[Sighs] All right. I wanted to talk to you. I'm worried about you, sonny. I'm okay, uncle vic. Will and I are working things out. Well, that's what I'm worried about. What? Is that what you want? Or do you want Paul back?

[Sighs] Damn it, Melanie, where are you? Melanie, answer this, ASAP. Can we just drop this, please? I can't. Believe , mei want to drop this. I can't, not until I tell you what I have to tell you, and I wish that this weren't true because it's going to be hard to hear, and you're going to think I'm crazy. All right, I don't think you're-- just-- Melanie, just tell me. I think you have a child out there with Theresa.

[Suspenseful music]

(Kristen) well, hello there. This is a surprise.

Is this about sonny? Did will pull something else? No. (Justin) one of our other boys? It's not one of the boys. Well, Adrienne, what's the emergency? It's the middle of the night. Look, I know that, okay? I'm sorry to bother you. Look, I guess it isn't an emergency, but I thought it was the only way to get you to call me back. Damn it, Adrienne. This isn't funny. I'm sorry it's bad timing. I just thought I was running out of time. Running out of time? To tell you I'm having an affair with Lucas.

[Jazz music]

Hey, terry, is sonny around? Yeah, he's outside, talking to his uncle. You want me to bring you out a coffee? No, I'm going to let them do their thing. I'll catch up with sonny later. Thank you. Get back with Paul? The washed-up baseball player, right? He's not washed up, uncle vic. Just because he can't pitch anymore doesn't make him washed up. How the hell do you even know about him?

[Chuckles] You don't catch on real quick, do you? You're my family. I know everything about you. I just love how you respect people's privacy. I do. I didn't bring him up until just now, when it became quite clear that you have unresolved feelings about him. Yeah, because you worry so much about unresolved feelings. You being so new-age sensitive. I'm right, though, aren't I? I mean, you went off like a rocket when I slammed him just now.

[Sighs] Could you go and do a hostile takeover or something and just leave me alone here? Sonny, I think you're at a crossroads, and you have to start to rethink your decisions. Where is this coming from? When will and I got together, when we got married, you were our biggest supporter. I am your biggest supporter. But I'm not a romantic. You have some thinking to do. I mean, you two are so young, and how long did it take for will to cheat on you and lie about it? He made a mistake. He made a mistake? I read the article that he wrote on Narita. I also know he slept with him. Now, here's the thing, will knew he was married. Paul didn't-- certainly didn't know he was married to you. I know that. Well, let's just make sure things are very clear. Will cheated on you. Paul didn't.

[Dramatic music]

[Phone rings]

Melanie! (Lee) Brady, it's me, lee. Didn't you get my messages? No. (Lee) damn it! Then you don't know about Melanie. Hi. You must be the mother that called. - I'm the nurse. - Oh, I know. Your father must be so proud. Huh? Really? I mean, seriously? I've seen your pictures. They're all over your father's apartment and his office. I'm surprised he doesn't have a tattoo. Right. So it's you, huh? You've been hitting the sheets with Brady? Where is Brady? He's not here. And guess what. You shouldn't be either. Italian law can be so harsh when it comes to Americans trespassing on private property. And kidnapping? Oh, my god, I don't know what they would do to a kidnapper. - Okay, I have to... - guess what, you know what? I'm not going to call the authorities. I think I'm going to handle this one in-house.

So this isn't an emergency. You just wanted to rub my nose in your grubby little affair with Lucas. Right, like your doing Elsa was a many splendored thing. Elsa wasn't our son's father-in-law. Look, I didn't call you to rub your nose in it, and I don't want to fight. Great. Read any good books lately? Damn it, Justin. I wanted you to hear it from me and not Victor. He gave me 24 hours to tell you first. Oh. So Victor knows. (Adrienne) yeah, and he was thrilled to the marrow. He's waited years to give me my comeuppance. How dare I presume to be good enough for a Kiriakis? Hmm, I'm not sure you want to play the martyr. I'm sure you wasted no time telling him about me and Elsa. (Adrienne) oh, he already knew.

[Scoffs] Well, this has been more fun than I thought it would be. Glad you took it so well. I'm not really surprised. I figured the minute I left town, the two of you would hop in the sack. The best way you could think of to pay me back? Oh, my god. I can't believe your ego. It's all about you, isn't it? I only slept with Lucas to get back at you! You know, it's funny, I don't remember asking you how you felt about this really, really personal subject. Because you knew from me you'd get the truth. No, it's none of your damned business. And the truth is that you asked this Paul person to marry you, and when he turned you down, you settled for will. (Sonny) I did not "settle" for will. Really? You thought about it? You thought about it honestly? Look, you and will may patch things up, which might be a euphemism for postponing the inevitable, a nice word for salvaging something that's never going to work. Sometimes, and it's not fun, we have to cut our losses and move on. I hate to be rude. I have to make a call.

[Suspenseful music]

Are you telling me she stowed away on the plane? (Lee) and forced me to land. Oh, son of A... and she's going to drop in on Kristen? - This is great.

[Phone beeps]

Hold on. I have another call. This might be her. Hello? Hi, Brady. You're not going to believe who showed up in mia casa. Let me talk to her. No, I think you should come by and fetch her yourself. Brady don't come! I don't think he heard you. You have put me in a very awkward position, because even though your father and I have had our ups and downs, he's basically a good guy, and I'm sure you know how I feel about Brady. Who, by the way, is going to be so hurt and so disappointed. But you've given me no choice.

[Suspenseful music]

What do you mean I gave you no choice? Because you're the psycho who took this child from his-- okay, don't try and sweet-talk me. I get it now. You're the one that filled Brady's head with all that craziness. It wasn't Theresa after all. Mm, not crazy. I hate to disappoint you, but you're incredibly wrong. Brady's not the father of this child, not by me, and certainly not by Theresa. Is that what you told Brady when you saw him? You know what, I was trying to keep things simple. I'm not a drama queen like you. Oh, okay. Is that why you made a video of yourself doing a priest? Watch how you speak to me. You're right. I wouldn't want to offend you, Kristen. I didn't tell Brady about the baby because I wanted to keep things simple. But now because of you, I'm going to have to tell him the whole story. I didn't want to get into all the explanations and all the complications when there's so much at stake. You're not making any sense. There's one simple truth that you need to know. Brady is not the father of my sweet little Christopher. I don't believe you. You know what, you should be nicer to me. You really should be. We're basically family. What? Yeah. Say hello to your new baby brother. I think we need to dial this down. We? (Justin) all right. Um, I need to. I know I share some responsibility for this, but I also know this isn't something we can work out over the phone. Maybe it's something we can't work out full stop. Look, I'm gonna try and wrap things up here, and then I'll come home. So you're going to try to squeeze me into your busy schedule? Adrienne, I'm 6,000 miles away. I don't know what you expect me to say or do. I don't want you to do anything. I just didn't want you to hear this from Victor. Look, I don't now how long it's going to take for me to finish things up here, but when I do... Adrienne? Adrienne?

[Solemn music]

Sonny: Okay, since this doesn't seem to register that it's none of your business, I'm going to tell you, in a desperate attempt just to end this conversation completely, will and I are going to couples therapy.

Victor: [Scoffs] And you really think a shrink is going to help? He'd have to alter will's DNA. What's that supposed to mean? It means, in the oxford history of screwing around, Samantha Brady has got an entire volume. Then there's the father, there's a picture of self-restraint. And there's more, two grandmothers. I'll bet you neither one of them can tell you the name of their first husband. Well, I think it goes back further than that. Didn't Caroline Brady have an affair with someone? Now, I know you said that just to be impudent, but you make my point. Do you want to end up Shawn Brady? Your hypocrisy is off the charts, uncle vic. As is your level of denial. You need to talk to the baseball player. Well, he left town. I know where he is. Did you put a chip in him? (Victor) his address is on my desk in the study, just in case you're interested. You know how he feels about you. You read the article. The only question is, how do you feel about him? Sonny, I love you. I want you to be happy. If you can be happy with will, fine, mazel tov. But if you're unsure about your feelings for Paul, it's just going to eat at you, and no amount of therapy is going to help. It's gonna make you miserable, and it will make will miserable too. You have got to at least think about it. You're right. I do. (Victor) huh, well, then... thanks for the coffee. Who the hell are you? Who are you, and what's going on here? - Brady, Brady! - I'm a doctor, please. Brady, Brady, Brady, Brady. - Hi. - Oh, my god. Hi. - Are you okay? - Mm-hmm. - Are you sure? - Yeah. She's fine. Maybe she's a little upset. I got to ask you this. I mean, isn't she the daughter of your best friend? That is so creepy. What happened? What happened? She--these two... I think what she's trying to tell you is that I just introduced her to Christopher, my son.

[Suspenseful music]

I knew there was a child, Kristen. Yeah, my son. By Daniel. - By Daniel. - Yeah. I know Melanie was dumbstruck too, but-- hey, wait, do you guys like the name "Christopher"? I mean, I know it's kind of old-fashioned, but I really like it. It's nice, right? - She's lying. - It's all right. Shh. I know that's hard to believe, but it's true. Motherhood is incredibly joyful. But it's exhausting. Why don't you guys have a seat? Let's have a glass of wine. No, we'll stand. No wine. You're telling me that that is Daniel's son? Yes. I was telling Melanie that her father and I impulsively made love right before I left Salem. Yet ironically enough, you're the one person that can confirm it, because you walked in on us doing it. The--well, you know what I mean. I'm sorry, what? (Kristen) yeah, and as you recall, in my flustered state, I told you that Daniel and I hadn't actually gone through with it. And you didn't believe me, remember? You were right. We did make passionate love. And then I found out after I left Salem that I was-- miracle upon miracles--pregnant. I guess Daniel was able to accomplish what you couldn't. Oh, I'm sorry. Am I hitting below the belt? - Melanie... - mm-hmm. (Kristen) you should know this. For so long, I felt like I was being punished, like god was against me because I wanted a baby more than anything, and it always was denied to me. And now, I have my son, my beautiful boy. Isn't he perfect? He is. He is perfect. You should look at his eyes. Now Daniel, he was always kind of conflicted about this weird mutual attraction we had towards each other. And I guess he couldn't get past thinking that I've done all these things to Brady. And in actuality, when push comes to shove, I don't really like your dad that much. So that's why I didn't think it was really necessary to share my news. That's it. And we're supposed to just believe you because you--

[Laughs] You don't lie. Brady, do the math, and then you'll understand why I had to lie. This is an age-old story. It's not some crazy, science-fiction conspiracy theory about stealing fetuses from wombs. Christopher is mine. I conceived him. I gave birth to him. End of story. Mm, thank you for joining-- what's wrong? Everything. As if things weren't bad enough, Victor's trying to get sonny to dump me. He's trying to get him back together with Paul.

[Dramatic music]

I'm sorry to report your father acted pretty much like a jerk. I think it's understandable. It's not fun to get news like that. Still, I should have acted like a grown-up for your sake. You have enough on your plate without your parents acting like... like human beings? Sonny, I just wanted to give you a heads-up. But what I really wanted to talk to you about is Paul. Here we go again. I read the article, sonny. Obviously, the two of you were very close. Yeah, I guess there's not much room in the closet. Oh, a joke when you don't want to talk about something. You've never done that before. Dad, I just went over all this with uncle vic. Apparently, he knows exactly what I should do with my life. And he shared that with you? How out of character. He was really rough on will. Interfering old goat. Some of the stuff he said-- just hell, dad, I don't know. So you're still trying to work things out with will? Dad, I don't think I can talk to you about this on the phone. I just really wish you were here. As opposed to a lot of other people in my life right now, sometimes you actually listen. Well, I'm trying like hell to get back there. I just don't know how long it's gonna take. I know. You can't just leave at the drop of a hat. Hey, sonny? How about you coming over here to Hong Kong? Victor basically told sonny that he'd be better off with Paul than with me. And then he said, oh, so casually that he had Paul's address on his desk, in his study, just in case sonny wanted to go visit him. I know sonny's thinking about it. Oh, you don't know that. Please. I know how Victor works. He's just getting started. And you should hear what he said about me, our family. And he put Paul-- makes him out to be this paragon. Does he even know Paul? It doesn't matter. He's not me, and that's enough. I'll just wait until he finds out that Paul is john's son. Then he's really gonna put him on a pedestal. He'll bring him back here to Salem, and he'll put him in sonny's face all the time. He'll be turning down the sheets for them. You're getting way ahead of yourself on this. Come on, you know how Victor works. Grandma, have you heard from john? Uh, no. No. But I told you, he's upset because I never told him that Paul was his son. Paul and Tori were gonna leave town. If I hadn't been at TBD tonight, would I have ever known? Or would you have kept that from me forever? Can you try to patch it up? Sonny and I-- we need time alone to make things work. We're about to do couples therapy. You know what will happen if Paul comes back. Yes, that would make it very complicated. And now with Victor on Paul's side-- look, if you could just have john talk... honey, I can't interfere with john and Paul's relationship. I can't do that. I'm not asking you to. It's just-- could you just ask john to tell Paul-- look, sonny and I, we're family, sonny, Ari, me. If Paul comes back to Salem, he's going to ruin that family. Could you please just ask him? Honey, I've called john. He won't respond. If I knew where he was, I'D... Victor knows.

[Suspenseful music]

Aw. Grazie, marguerite. Aw.

[Gasps] Let me see my boy. Hello, my little man. Did you have a nice nap, my sweetheart? Oh, I love you. You'll have to excuse us. This is mommy and Christopher time. Oh, I know, Melanie. Your father is probably gonna come after me about this, but so be it. Our attorneys will handle it, won't they? And you should know that the police have been alerted that there's an intruder. And as I was telling Melanie, the Italian police can be very forceful. You'd be smart to get out of here before you're arrested. And you know what, Melanie, you should count yourself very lucky that I'm letting you go. I want to see him. Excuse me? I'm not going anywhere until you let me look at him.

[Suspenseful music]

You have my word I'm not gonna try to take him. I'm not gonna put him in any kind of danger. You know I wouldn't do that. I know you wouldn't. Then just one look. That's all I want. Then we can carry on this conversation at another time, in another place, what do you say? Stop. Okay. One look. One. And then you go.

[Dramatic music]

[Sobbing] After I finish with this deal in Dubai, I will definitely... definitely what? Hurry home to make it all right? What, buy me a piece of jewelry, take me to dinner? Justin, I don't feel like being the good little wife waiting for you at home to be finished with your deal and Elsa. The situation with Elsa-- oh, is that what you call sleeping with her? A situation? I never meant for that to happen. Except it did, didn't it? Yes, it did.

[Knocking] Did you talk to Justin?

[Adrienne crying]

[Dramatic music]

Thank you, Henderson. I'll just-- I'll just wait in here.

[Dramatic music]

Victor: Marlena? Hello, Victor. Uh, I came to talk to you about sonny and about will. How's everything going? Uh, it's okay. Yeah. I just talked to my dad. That's good. I know you miss him. Yeah. I didn't get to see him much when he was in town. Yeah. I'm actually thinking about going to see him.

[Dramatic music]

Adrienne: [Cries]

Adrienne, I'm so sorry. I never meant for you to get hurt like this. No, I know that. I know that. You're hurting too. My god, you lost your job. You know what, I don't care about my job. All I care about is you. I'm sorry. I feel--I feel awful and-- maybe I shouldn't be telling you this. Tell me what? Despite everything that's happened and everything we've both lost... it's really been worth it for me. Me too. Me too. Look, I know that you are upset with will for what happened between him and Paul Narita. Upset doesn't quite catch it. I opened up my house to him, so he could marry sonny, and six months later, he's jumping in bed with another guy. Is that all right with you? No. No. But I don't think we're in any position to judge. In fact, I think will has paid for what he did. I mean, a private indiscretion that suddenly is on the front page of the papers. Oh, cry me a river. He knew exactly who he was jumping in bed with, and I mean that literally. He is deeply remorseful. All he would like to do now is make it up to sonny. I don't give a damn what will wants. All I care about is what sonny wants. Hong Kong? You're--you're going to Hong Kong. Isn't that kind of out of the blue? Yeah. And couples therapy, are we just gonna Skype? I know we have a lot of work to do, but there's more going on in my life than just us. You mean Paul, right? No. I'm gonna go see my father. I won't be long. It's kind of a long flight for such a quick visit, isn't it? I have a lot of work to do. We'll talk about it later. Damn it, he's lying to me. I knew Victor would get to him. Victor, I understand that you feel protective toward sonny and that you want to be proactive on his behalf. I empathize with that. And yes, I'm terribly disappointed that will betrayed sonny's trust. Disappointed? What he did was appalling, for god's sake. You know what, I've said it before, I'll say it again. We have no right to judge this, and you have no right to interfere. Let these young men handle this on their own. Let them pull their own family together. Let them just handle that by themselves. Your grandson needed to be set straight. My grandson is a sensitive, intelligent young man. He knows he made a terrible mistake, and he is anguishing over that. And all he wants to do now is hold his family together. And, Victor, they are a family. It isn't just will and sonny. There's a child involved, and I hope to god you respect that. So I hope that you jump back and let them pull their family together on their own. And that's exactly what I came to say.

[Dramatic music]

He has Daniel's mouth and my eyes, don't you think? You know what, I think maybe he does.

[Dramatic music]

Aw. I can tell by the way you're looking at him, you were hoping he was yours. Yeah, well, I guess we both know we don't always get what we want. I mean, after all, I wanted your child. Instead, I have a child by somebody else. Mm-hmm. I guess I'm gonna have to deal with Daniel. I didn't want to, but that's life. Arrivederci, Brady. Don't come back. Just one little thing. Before I go, I want to have this baby tested.

Listen, there's something-- something else I have to tell you. It's about my mother. Okay. Kate's the one who told Victor about us. Why--why would she do that to you? She wanted to take over mad world, and I was in the way. Oh, my god, that woman could give Medea a run for her money. Why would she do that to her own son? Look, you needed to know the truth, so I made sure you did. Oh, no, no. It's great. You saw a fire and decided to throw some gasoline on it. You know, Justin, it's easy to be mad at me, but what you should be doing is focusing on your son and that low-rent neurotic that he's married to. So he said he's going to Hong Kong to visit his dad, but I think he's going to go see Paul. Honey, do not jump to conclusions. I'm sorry, but I just can't take any chances. Paul is still in love with sonny even if sonny's not ready to admit it. And I don't think sonny's over Paul either.

Marlena: Will, calm down. Look, against my better judgment, I've decided to help you. I know where Paul and john are, and I'm-- I'm going there now. Thank you. And please try to make john understand. And tell him that I'm sorry for all the things that I said about Paul. I will. And you take care of yourself and that precious daughter of yours. And, will, do you think there's a lesson to be learned here? You just have to be crystal clear about what matters to you. I already am. Thank you. I love you, grandma. I love you too. I'll do whatever it takes. Anything at all. That's not your call to make, Brady. No? Well, maybe the baby has Daniel's lips, maybe not. Maybe it has Theresa's nose. Maybe it has my chin. I already told you that wasn't true. Yeah, well, as Melanie pointed out earlier, you do tend to lie, Kristen. So here's the deal. I'm not letting that baby out of my sight until we have a DNA test that determines the parentage. I want to know who the mother is, and I want to know who the father is. I see. Okay, well, in that case...

[Dramatic music]

You're not going anywhere.
