Rafe: Hey, Victor!
Rafe: What? Oh, don't mind the empty tables. We're expecting a big crowd tonight, okay? And I did just get your message. I was about to call you, so... everything okay?
Victor: I need to talk to you about clyde weston.
Lucas: I guess that's my cue to leave, isn't it?
Kate: Please don't, because I need to talk to you about something.
Lucas: What do you want to talk about?
Justin: Is this how it's going to be... you ignoring me until I go back to dubai?
Serena: Sure. They are getting impatient. They want to remind me that I need to switch the elephant statues. Yes, I know, and I will. I just have to do it at the right time, when eric isn't going to be hurt.
Navidad: No, serena, it needs to be done now. Whether eric gets hurt or not, do it.
Serena: What is that supposed to mean?
Navidad: If you care about him the way you say you do, you'll get the job done.
Serena: Oh, I think I need some air.
Eric: Serena. What's wrong?
Marlena: Paul... take a breath and have a seat.
Marlena: All right... tell me what's got you upset. We'll talk about it and see if we can't make it better.
Paul: I don't think that's possible, Dr. Evans. I mean, everything's such a mess. And it's not just my life I ruined either.
Will: Sonny, with this ring, I thee wed... again.
Paul: Come on, sonny. I mean, what did you expect? You told me it was over, to move on!
Paul: I didn't tell you to sleep with my husband!
Will: Sonny? What's wrong?
Male announcer: Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives.
Will: You must be exhausted. You've had visitors in and out of here all day.
Sonny: I had another one while you were gone.
Will: Yeah? Who?
Sonny: You know him pretty well, actually. It was--
Caroline: Oh, look at you two. So good to see-- is this a bad time?
Serena: There's nothing wrong.
Eric: Well, you look upset.
Serena: I'm not.
Eric: You tore open that door like you couldn't wait to get out of here. Come on, tell me--
Serena: Eric, please, just come on! D-drop it, okay? Introducing new flonase allergy relief nasal spray,
Eric: I'm sorry, serena. I... I didn't mean to push you.
Serena: [Sighs] No. No, sorry, no, it's-- it's not you. It's--it's me. I, uh... right before you got here, I was just--I was thinking about...
Eric: About what?
Serena: You. Us.
Eric: [Chuckles] And that upset you?
Serena: You know, I'm just thinking... what are--what are we doing? Where are we going with this? You know, and I don't want to be the one who's pressuring you or anything.
Eric: Hey, you're not pressuring me.
Serena: And I understand this whole trauma that you went through with nicole, and there's the priest thing, but that's n--that's not what any of this is about anymore.
Eric: What do you mean?
Serena: I just think that... you know, we're just stuck in neutral and that, um... that this maybe was a bad idea. It was a mistake for me to come to salem.
Eric: I promise you... it wasn'T.
Rafe: What's weston done now?
Clyde: Unless, of course, it's a knife, in which case you want to stick that right here.
Victor: He hasn't done anything. I want you to ignore my previous instructions.
Rafe: So you're saying I should back off?
Victor: Whenever he comes into the club, he's to be treated like a vip guest.
Rafe: What? What, is this a joke? 'Cause I'm not laughing.
Victor: Neither am I.
Clyde: Your son wrote that article everyone's talking about, didn't he? The one that outed that gay ballplayer?
Lucas: Actually, paul narita outed himself. My son just helped him do what he wanted.
Clyde: Oh. I guess I should've read beyond the title, huh?
[Both laugh] But it sure is getting a whole lot of buzz. That's good for you kid.
Kate: We are so proud of will.
Clyde: I heard his husband's in the hospital. I hope he's feeling better.
Kate: Oh, he is, much. Thank you.
Lucas: Yeah, thanks.
[Cell phone rings]
Clyde: Oh, excuse me. Got a call.
Lucas: What do you see in that wing nut?
Kate: [Scoffs] Really? How many times have I said the same thing to you?
Kate: Hmm? At least he has charm. At least he's not married.
Lucas: Oh, there you go. There you go. What--what did you want to talk to me about? We're not talking about adrienne. I mean it.
Kate: Oh, yes, we are. We are talking about adrienne.
Adrienne: I appreciate that you didn't even bother to pretend your sticking around salem.
Justin: Adrienne, I came home because of sonny, but you know I have unfinished business in dubai. I have to go back sooner or later.
Adrienne: Actually, justin, all I know is what you tell me. And since we barely talk...
Justin: I'm sorry. I know.
Adrienne: No, I don't want to hear about the time difference. I don't want to hear about howow hard you're working or how difficult it is to remember to pack your phone charger.
Justin: I know. And I know things have been really hard for you.
Adrienne: Do you really know? Because sometimes I don't think you have a clue.
Justin: Even if I didn't, your friend lucas made sure I heard all about it.
Marlena: Does this have anything to do with the... big news that's going to go public today?
Paul: You could say that.
Caroline: I am sorry that I didn't come sooner, but I was sure you would have a lot of visitors.
Will: Well, we were just talking about that, actually. Sonny's pretty tired.
Caroline: Oh. I'll let sonny rest. I just came to bring my love. That you're doing so well is an answer to my prayers. Gonna keep those prayers up.
Will: Thank you, great-grandma.
Caroline: Sure. Roman told me that they found your ring. You know, when I see you two wearing the rings, it just... makes me smile.
[Both chuckle] I'm very grateful that you asked me to speak at your wedding... you know. Your love just, you know, gives me hope for the future.
Will: Thank you, great-grandma. I love you. Why don't I walk you out?
Caroline: Okay. Bye, sonny.
Sonny: You are coming back, will?
Will: Of course. Sfx: Clink, clink, clink... cow: When I moved in with katy's family will? Helpemy girl get h you know, how about we talk about the friends you've made in dubai?
Adriennhis righ about the friends you've madeand for you.Ustin: Do we really because a change of scenery will do us some good.
Adrienne: Where do you want to go?
Justin: I haven't seen uncle vic's new nightclub yet. And afterwards, we can stop by the hospital... say good night to our son.
Justin: I haven't seen uncle vic's new nightclub yet. And afterwards, we can stop by the hospital...uc nice thing to do... together. : Perfect timingT. Say, your mom and me--we had plans to do
Clyde: Okay, well... which is why his trucks are still making deliveries.
Victor: Yes. As it happens, we've buried the hatchet.
Rafe: All right.
Rafe: You gonna tell me the rest of the story?
Victor: No, just follow my orders.
Serena: I don't want to hurt you.
Eric: That could only happen if you gave up on us. I won'T. I'm not.
Rafe: It's so good to hear that sonny's doing well, by the way, and if you need anything--
Adrienne: No, thank you. Thank you. We really appreciate it.
Justin: So this place must keep you pretty busy.
Rafe: Uh, yeah, yeah. It's, um... mm-hmm.
Victor: Never thought I'd see my uncle hanging out in a nightclub.
Rafe: He does not come that often. Tonight's a little out of the ordinary.
Justin: Why's that?
Rafe: Huh? Oh, it-- let me count the ways. Just, uh-- oh, don't worry about it. Listen, she's got a great table for you, so go sit down.
Rafe: Enjoy yourselves.
Adrienne: Thank you.
Justin: Look forward to it.
Adrienne: Thank you.
Kate: Oh. So this is... where you want to be, huh?
Clyde: Sure. It'll be fun.
Rafe: Well, good evening.
Kate: Hello, rafe.
Rafe: Hi. Well, if you two can wait a minute, I'll have a place cleared for you.
Clyde: Not a problem. We got all the time in the world.
Rafe: Oh, great. Great. Well, I'll see you later.
Kate: Oh, my god. What's he doing here? He hates having fun.
[Scoffs] What was that about?
Clyde: I can't say hello to the gentleman?
Kate: Why would you want to?
Marlena: Do you want to tell me what happened? Does it have anything to do with your family's reaction to your coming out?
Paul: You know I still haven't talked to her since I told her? You want to know what she said?
Paul: She said she'd already known that I was gay... for a long time.
Marlena: How did that make you feel?
Paul: If we could just avoid the cliché shrink questions, that would be great.
Marlena: Well, no, that's really an important question.
Paul: It probably is. I'm sorry. It's just...
[Sighs] I... I don't know how I feel about it, okay? What I don't understand is, I mean, if she'd known before, then why didn't she say something? That's what I'd like to ask her... because you know how it makes it seem?
Paul: Like she was perfectly fine with me pretending to be someone I'm not for the rest of my life... like she wanted me to go on living a lie. Well, I told you, it didn't mean anything to me, 'cause you're the only person I ever really loved.
[Groaning in pain] Didn't mean anything.
[Cries] Like hell it didn'T.
Serena: I thought I remembered what this was like... but I was wrong.
Serena: This is better. How is that even possible? You know, I have no idea why you came over today, but I hope you don't have anywhere else to be.
Eric: Nothing. It was just, you know, when I was going to take you to the green mountain lodge, I just...
[Chuckles] You were so determined on, you know, being back at my apartment. You know, you just said you wanted to be surrounded by memories of our past. I was just trying to make it really special for you.
Serena: I think this was really damn special.
Eric: It was. Are you sure?
Eric: Listen, will you at least let me... make you dinner? Okay? 'Cause I'm very, very, very glad that you're here in salem.
Serena: If that's what you want, I would love it.
Clyde: Victor and I decided that turf wars were a complete waste of time and energy. You are happy that we called a truce, aren't you?
Justin: Sorry about that. No more business tonight. Done with the business. It's just us. Let's have a toast.
Adrienne: To what?
Justin: To our son's health, to our family, to us being together again.
Adrienne: It's been so long since we've done something like this. It's nice.
Justin: Uncle Victor looks like he's about ready to leave. I should go say hi to him and congratulate him on the new place.
Adrienne: I'll wait here.
Justin: Okay, I'll be right back. How come you never bought me a nice nightclub like this?
Victor: I wish sonny were running it. I gave him the opportunity.
Justin: I know. I appreciate that.
Victor: So how's he doing tonight?
Justin: Spoke to the nurse. She said he's stable. Will's with him right now. Adrienne and I are gonna swing by after we leave here.
Victor: Good. Give him my love.
Justin: I will.
Victor: Oh, uh... I hope you're not in a hurry to get back to dubai.
Justin: Not as long as I'm needed here.
[Cell phone vibrates]
Justin: No, the negotiations are going really well. Elsa's doing an amazing job, and I think we're--we're close.
Marlena: Paul, you said you don't know what your mother's feeling.
Paul: I don'T.
Marlena: But you're upset because of what you assume she's feeling. What about your father? What was his reaction?
Paul: I never knew my father. He died before I was born... before my mother could even tell him I existed.
Marlena: I'm so sorry. Have you thought about calling your mother again?
Paul: After the way she acted? Shouldn't she be the one to call me?
Marlena: Yes, in a perfect world, she should, but... somebody has to make the first move. Have you thought that maybe she's feeling overwhelmed? Or maybe she's upset, because by the time you told her, you'd already decided to come out to the whole world?
Paul: So now it's my fault.
Marlena: No, I'm just saying that you can't know how your mother feels until you talk to her. And assumptions just lead to hurt feelings.
Paul: When I made the call, my mom said, "do you have to come out now? You're going to kill your grandfather." He was the one that I was afraid to tell.
Paul: He really surprised me. He said he was proud of me.
Marlena: That must have been a tremendous relief.
Paul: It was. But, you know, I just-- I just thought it would-- it would be my mom. You know, I thought she was going to be in my corner. I mean, she was always there when it came to the contracts and the money. But now that I'm not a baseball player anymore, now that I'm not going to give her any grandchildren... I'm just a big disappointment to her.
Sonny: I, jackson, take you, will...
Will: To be my lawfully wedded husband.
Sonny: As I give you this ring...
Will: So I give you my heart. Isn't it amazing that the police found your ring?
Will: Sonny, you okay? I think I know exactly what you're feeling.
Sonny: No, will... I don't think you do. (Vo) what's in land o'lakes butter with canola oil?
Kate: No, no, no, we did not order anything.
Compliments of mr. Kiriakis.
Clyde: Make love, not war... right, kate?
Rafe: Okay. I finally figured out what you're up to.
Clyde: Oh, justin.
Justin: I'm sorry. Do I know you?
Clyde: Clyde weston. Kate here has been telling me all about you. She says you're one of the best lawyers in town.
Justin: You're too kind.
Clyde: I've been working with a fellow named aiden jennings, but he's been out of town for a spell. I'm looking for someone to look over my corporate interests.
Justin: Your corporate interests?
Clyde: That's right. And I do pay top dollar, in case you're interested.
Justin: Well, unfortunately, I'm not going to be in town much longer. I'm doing some business overseas.
Clyde: Oh, that's too bad. Is there anyone you can recommend?
Justin: Aiden jennings. Yeah, he's worth waiting for.
Lucas: Are you all right? Look, whatever it is... just talk to me.
Eric: We can get going anytime you want.
Serena: [Chuckles] You know, I was thinking... maybe we could... take a shower first.
Eric: [Chuckles] Okay.
Serena: But it takes a minute for the water to heat up, so why don't you go start it? And I'll throw some things into a bag for tonight.
Eric: You still thinking about leaving?
Serena: Certainly not right now.
[Chuckles] Yes. He'll never have to know. And I'll finally get this thing done tonight.
Marlena: Do you really believe your mother only cared about you because of your wealth and your celebrity?
Paul: No, I don't have to think. I know that's not true. I just... I'm just confused and angry.
Marlena: Paul. Is it possible that your mother's ashamed of the way she behaved, and that's why she hasn't called you?
Marlena: You know, you made the decision to come out because you needed to. You did that for yourself. You didn't mean to hurt your mother or anybody else. So, if you think that you ruined her life by doing that--
Paul: No, I wasn't talking about her when I said that... when I said that I ruined someone's life.
Marlena: Oh. Were you talking about yourself?
Paul: I was talking about the man that I'm in love with.
Will: Sonny... I-I don't know exactly... what you're going through, but... when I was shot... well, I don't know how to describe it, but the whole experience, it was... it was surreal. And, well... something like that, it changes your whole life.
Sonny: Yeah, I guess it does.
Will: Sonny... the most important thing to keep in mind here is you're going to make a full recovery. You're very lucky.
Will: Why do you say it like that? You are. We are.
Will: Sonny, is there something else going on?
Sonny: Like what?
Will: When abe was here earlier... you told him that you remembered you were going to see me right before you were attacked.
Will: Abe asked you if you were going to the apartment, but you knew that I was out of the apartment working. Why did you tell him that?
Sonny: I didn't say that. He assumed it. I just didn't correct him.
Will: So you were coming to my office.
Sonny: No... because you weren't there either. I was on my way to paul narita's hotel room. I was on my way there because you were there.
Kate: Justin. Are you looking for someone?
Justin: My wife.
Kate: Oh, she left. Didn't you know? It's when you were over there talking to Victor.
Justin: Oh. Excuse me.
Kate: Of course.
Adrienne: [Sighs] I'm sorry.
Lucas: Adrienne, what happened?
Adrienne: What hasn't happened? My son gets attacked. My... husband comes home after months of barely speaking.
Lucas: It's going to be okay. I promise you.
Adrienne: [Scoffs] You can't promise that.
Lucas: Yes, I can.
Victor: I'm too exhausted to go through this again. Stefano dimera's finally left salem. I'd rather turn the other cheek than have another blood feud on my hands.
Rafe: Well, that's what you want clyde weston to believe... right? That's all I'm gonna get out of you, isn't it? Well, I'd sure hate to be in that hillbilly's boots when you decide to make that move.
Eric: [Smooches] Let me take this back to the bedroom for you.
Serena: Oh, I think I can do that, 'cause if I remember correctly, you owe me a perfect little treat from the kitchen.
Eric: Just to set expectations appropriately, I'm--I'm not sure what I have in the fridge.
Serena: I'm sure you'll work your magic.
[Exhales sharply] It's do-or-die time.
[Sighs] Oh, my god. It's gone.
Paul: I was in love with him. We were together for a couple years.
[Scoffs] And I never stopped loving him. And now...
Paul: Why don't you just read the article? It's easier than me explaining everything again.
Marlena: What article?
Paul: I told you I was going public? I granted an interview to a magazine. The story was supposed to be about my recovery and... you know, the end of my baseball career. But I decided to use it to come out.
Marlena: I see.
Paul: I talk about how he proposed to me...
[Sighs] And how I wanted to say yes.
[Scoffs] But back then... I just couldn'T. You know, I was--I was too afraid that it would end my career.
Marlena: Go on.
Paul: He lives in salem. When I came here for my surgery, I thought, "maybe I still have a shot with him."
[Scoffs] But it's all such a mess now.
Paul: I mean... I mean, if-- because of what I did. If I had any idea, the slightest idea, I would never have--
Marlena: You never would have what?
Paul: He wasn't even wearing his wedding ring. How was I supposed to know?
Marlena: The man that you love wasn't wearing his wedding ring? Paul, who wasn't wearing a wedding ring? Everything you say in this room stays in this room.
Paul: The guy who wrote the article for sonix. His name is will horton. I came out to him, and we slept together, and it turns out that he's married to the man I'm in love with.
Will: I was at paul's hotel room... because we were putting the final polish on the article before we sent it to zoe. How did you know that? Wait. You didn't even know that my article was about paul then. Who told you?
Sonny: That bellboy from the hotel... derrick... told me you guys were together.
Will: Derrick. The guy who brought the tea. You know him?
Sonny: He came by club tbd, and we talked. And he told me something else, will... that someone was having an affair with paul narita... you.
