Kate: Oh, come on, Vic.

Victor: No.

Kate: Oh, come on, vic. You know you only bought those stocks to help me and Sami take over DiMera.

Victor: Yeah, well, why the hell should I sell them back to you now that I've turned them into moneymakers?

Kate: Well, it was worth a shot.

Victor: You knew damn well what my answer was going to be. So why don't you tell me why you really came over here to see me? And please don't tell me it's about your hillbilly beau.

Jeremiah: And after what happened at the docks last night, we know that old man Kiriakis just ain't gonna roll over and play dead.

Clyde: [Sighs] Well, it doesn't take much playing on his part, does it?

Jeremiah: Maybe. But that old man's got his crew in for the fight for the long haul.

Clyde: Well, that is a stance he will come to regret.

Jeremiah: Well, you make the call. If you want to go that route... I can have some specialists in Salem by tonight.

Aiden: I got an offer on the house in Puget Sound... which means I can finally close the door on my past. From here on out, I'm all about the future. [Chuckles] I hear that.

Serena: Excuse me.

Daniel: Yeah.

Serena: Daniel, I'm so glad I ran into you. Can we talk?

Daniel: About?

Serena: Last night.

[Doorbell rings]

Eric: Mom.

Marlena: Wow. You were expecting somebody else, weren't you?

Eric: No, no.

Marlena: Yeah, come on. Come on. No, you were expecting Serena, that's who you were expecting. No, no. My feelings aren't hurt, not in the slightest, 'cause I was kind hoping she'd be here too.

Eric: Well, she's still at work. Why?

Marlena: Well, I just think that she is such a sweet girl. I mean, I-I would never want to use the word "naive," but I don't think she's come up against anybody like Nicole before.

Eric: Yeah, few have.

Marlena: So I hope you have prepared her, because Nicole would do anything to come between the two of you. And I do mean anything.

Nicole: Have a seat.

Ted: You sure it's safe to talk in here?

Nicole: No one will know that you came. Now, tell me... who are you and what do you have on Serena mason?

Cole: I should go. We're, uh, okay, right?

Paige: You mean do I accept your apology?

Cole: Yeah.

Paige: What you did, Cole, was really not cool, but don't worry. I've moved on. I've been hurt way worse since then.

Serena: Well, you probably would have thought that I would have done this sooner considering the circumstances.

Daniel: Done?

Serena: After I got back to my hotel last night, I did some internet research on Nicole.

Daniel: Did you?

Serena: Considering the look on your face, I don't need to tell you what I found.

Ted: My name is ted carpenter. No, really. I used to work with Serena as her partner.

Nicole: A business partner?

Ted: And in multiple senses of the word.

Nicole: Oh. I see.

Ted: As cowriters and researchers, we shared everything, everything except...

Nicole: Except what?

Ted: Credit for our work, which she stole and which, in our business, means everything.

Nicole: That is true.

Ted: And even worse...

Nicole: There's worse?

Ted: ...My reputation was gutted. Been struggling to recover to this day.

Nicole: So you're saying, in short, Serena's not a very nice person.

Ted: I'm saying she's a bitch on wheels.

Cole: You're taking eastern civ? Which section?

Paige: Uh, Wednesday at 11:00 with Gryder.

Cole: Oh, me too.

Paige: Really? I haven't seen you.

Cole: [Chuckles] Not sure what I was thinking when I signed up for such an early class. First exam's gonna be rough.

Paige: [Chuckles] Uh, well, if you're looking for a tutor, you can go to the student union.

Cole: Nah. But if I need to cheat off you... they'll never see me do it.

Paige: [Chuckles]

Cole: Oh, she actually smiles.

Paige: Uh, yeah, it's been known to happen from time to time.

Cole: I'll see you Wednesday, if not before.

Rory: You know, I used to think that you were too boring for words. I might have given you too much credit.

Jennifer: Shoot.

Rory: I saw you getting friendly with Cole. What, so little miss perfect's into bad boys now? After JJ gave up everything fun in life for you, now he has to give up you, because all of a sudden, you're done, and now you're pulling this complete 360? I mean, 180. I don't get it.

Paige: Wait a minute. You don't get it? Do you really not know why we broke up?

Eve: I got to get the hell out of here.

JJ: Wait, wait. You can't--hey, you can't go there. You parked--

Clyde: I appreciate your line of thinking, Jeremiah, but I can't help but noticing a bit of hesitation in your voice just now.

Jeremiah: I'm just not sure we should go nuclear yet. Maybe talking's still an option.

Clyde: Hey, I decide what our options are. You got that?

Victor: I knew it. You're here to do that yokel's bidding. What does he want?

Kate: I am no one's errand girl, Victor. Clyde doesn't even know I'm here.

Victor: But you're still here on his behalf. Why?

Kate: Because I know you both.

Victor: [Chuckles] Indeed.

Kate: Okay, at the club-- the new club last night, I picked up a very unsettling vibe.

Victor: Should I call you Celeste?

Kate: I've been nosing around myself. And I've heard that a clash of the titans is imminent.

Victor: There's only one titan in this town. If your friend wants to start a dynasty, he should stick to ducks.

Kate: Talking is more his speed, not yours. At least make this over something glamorous, Victor.

Victor: Some things are best left alone, Kate.

Kate: I don't want to see it get ugly for either one of you.

Victor: Oh, Kate. It's gone way, way, way past ugly.

Eric: Of course it would be a lot easier if Nicole lived in a different city... preferably another continent. I mean, last night was uncomfortable, to say the least.

Marlena: Uncomfortable for you or Serena?

Eric: For both of us. I mean, we ended the evening kind of abruptly. She didn't even want me to walk her home. I mean, things are already awkward enough.

Marlena: Awkward how?

Eric: I don't know.

Marlena: Well... maybe it's because Serena's life hasn't changed nearly as much as yours has since you met.

Eric: What, since I've been a priest, not a priest? Since I almost ran off and eloped with a sociopath?

Marlena: Mm-hmm.

Eric: Mom, there's a lot of things I have to work through.

Marlena: Yeah, of course. Nicole making things difficult doesn't help your stress level, does it?

Eric: Mom, it's been a really, really long time since I've had a healthy, normal relationship. I mean, what if...

Marlena: What? What if what?

Eric: What if Serena loses her patience, and I lose her? What if I never have the chance to find out if something's really there?

Serena: I'm sorry, but you seem like a nice, reasonable guy, but you're pursuing a relationship with a person who faked a pregnancy and stole Eric's sister's baby, not to mention what she did to Jennifer.

Daniel: Okay, I don't need a recap of Nicole's lowlights.

Serena: And I com-- I completely understand that you still care for her, in spite of the despicable things she's done. Eric cared for her so much. Look how that turned out.

Daniel: Okay, look, uh, I'm not interested in a conversation that's all about trashing Nicole.

Serena: Please, don't get angry. That--I'm not trying to trash Nicole. That's not what I wanted to speak to you about, but I do want you to know what I intend to do about her.

Ted: That is a project that Serena and I collaborated on. Behold the cover page-- my name and Serena's.

Nicole: I saw this article when I was doing research on Serena online. Your byline was mia.

Ted: Exactly. Just Google me. You'll see that I have dozens of credits, all before this paper. I haven't worked since.

Nicole: Why not?

Ted: I staked my whole reputation on this project. All right, I did reams of research. And Serena stole everything. Decades worth of work down the drain.

Nicole: Why didn't you let everyone know what happened?

Ted: Yeah, I tried. But these were her grants, so my claims were essentially dismissed.

Nicole: And you didn't see it coming?

Ted: Nah, I was too blind to be objective. One day Serena's telling me she loves me, and the next, I'm out on the street.

Nicole: That royally sucks.

Ted: I couldn't have said it better. Please tell me you're going to help me.

Nicole: Ted, I would love to help you. But I'm gonna need a little bit more than just a piece of paper with your name on it.

Ted: If I had more, I would have been able to clear this up years ago.

Nicole: Okay, but you--you must have drafts or electronic files with dates on it or something.

Ted: No, no, no. Serena had been plotting this for a long time. From the beginning, she insisted that we put everything on her computer. I have some email correspondence, but the real proof you need is on her own computer. If you can gain access to that, you'll have the proof in hand. Well?

Nicole: I'm gonna have to think this through carefully, and I'll get back to you.

Ted: That's the best you can do?

Nicole: Well, life is busy at the moment. In fact, I'm afraid I have to go. So. If you don't mind...

Ted: Yeah, just don't take too long, 'cause if Serena so much suspects that you're digging for dirt, first thing she'll do is destroy the evidence.

Daniel: So what are you going to do to Nicole?

Serena: I didn't say I was going to do anything to Nicole. I said that I was going to do something about her.

Daniel: Hmm. I'm listening.

Serena: I'm not going to let her run me out of Salem. I like it here. There's Eric and Melanie... and you.

Daniel: Me?

Serena: [Chuckles] Melanie always had such great things to say about her dad, and now I know why. I want us to be on good terms. So I don't talk to you about Nicole, and you don't talk to me about Nicole.

Daniel: We'll compartmentalize?

Serena: Exactly. I'm not one to run from an awkward situation. And I get the feeling you don't either. So... friends?

Daniel: Well, as long as you know where I stand.

[Cell phone ringing]

Serena: Uh, I don't want to keep you.

Daniel: Excuse me a moment. Ah, delivery. I have to go. We'll talk soon?

Serena: I look forward to it.

Hope: How did chase take the news about the house?

Aiden: Just found out this morning.

Hope: So he doesn't know about it?

Aiden: No, no. I mean, I still have to travel out there to close the deal. Looks like it'll all work out when the kids are away on their class trip to san Francisco. By the time they get back, it should be a done deal.

Hope: That's when you're going to tell him?

Aiden: I mean, he was so upset about all this, you know. I just want to make sure all the Ts are crossed before I say anything to him. He really loved that beach house, and I just want to make sure that, you know, I find the right way and the right time to tell chase.

Chase: Tell me what?

Jeremiah: I'm just trying to cover your back. Kiriakis--

Clyde: Is the past. That's what he is. He doesn't know it yet, but he will... damn soon.

Kate: Could you just do me a favor? Could you just think back to the times that you and Stefano let your personal animosity wreak havoc on our families, on anyone within spitting distance. Our son was almost killed.

Victor: Didn't stop you from inviting Stefano into your bed, though, did it?

Kate: Ugh.

Victor: Clyde Weston of poplar bluff is no Stefano DiMera. In fact, he's more like your ex Curtis brown.

Kate: You're wrong.

Victor: I wish I were. Now, I'm going to ask you once more nicely. Stay out of it, Kate. Your sadly misinformed friend thinks he can do-si-do himself into Salem and take whatever he wants. Well, he's about to get the schooling he's never had.

Kate: Victor--

Victor: You can see yourself out.

Rory: No, I do not know why you and JJ broke up.

Paige: Well, JJ must have told you.

Rory: Guys don't talk about stuff like that.

Paige: So you don't know what happened, but of course it must be my fault.

Rory: I did not say that. JJ--he said that he made a huge mistake.

Paige: And?

Rory: That's it.

Paige: In those words, really?

Rory: I guess... ish. What does it matter?

Jennifer: What is she doing here?

Eve: Well... I'm here because of JJ. Well, do I have to remind you how miserable he's made my daughter?

Jennifer: You came here to berate my son?

Eve: Well, Jennifer, if your kids were worth defending, then maybe you should try--

Jennifer: Get out of my house! Right now! Get out!

Eve: Gladly. Gladly.

Jennifer: Are you all right?

JJ: Yeah.

Jennifer: I want to know exactly what happened between you and eve.

JJ: What are you talking about, mom?

Jennifer: She is a born liar, and I have been around her long enough to know when I am not getting the whole story. There was something she's not telling me, right?

JJ: Yeah. Yeah, there is.

Hope: Honey, no, no, no. Don't take your backpack off, because we need to run some errands. Did you have a great day?

Ciara: Yeah, especially since it was a--

Hope: Okay, great. Let's go. See you later, okay?

Aiden: All right, bye.

Hope: Bye. Let's go, Ciara.

Chase: What's wrong?

Aiden: Have a seat, okay?

Ciara: Mom, grandma said she was baking us a peach pie for us to eat when the bus dropped me off.

Hope: Yeah, but it'll still be here later, honey.

Ciara: Yeah, but then it won't be warm. And you don't want to disappoint her, do you?

Hope: Okay. I give up. Go ahead. Save a piece for me, okay?

Aiden: I want to talk to you about something. But maybe it's a better idea to do this at home.

Chase: Because you think I'm gonna be upset? It's about the beach house, isn't it?

Aiden: Okay, look, I didn't want to say anything till all the papers were signed, but, uh... looks like we got a buyer. Chase, look, I know you're gonna miss this house a lot. I do. But you know what? We're gonna make a whole lot of new memories. We are, really good ones. In fact, you know what? You mentioned you wanted to take a trip, so why don't we go somewhere someplace so I can make it up to you?

Chase: Good... because I already know what I want to do.

Kate: Hey.

Clyde: Hello, darling.

Kate: Hi.

Clyde: Listen, I don't usually drink at lunchtime either, but I ordered us a couple so we could toast.

Kate: Aha. To what?

Clyde: Salem... otherwise known as heaven on earth.

Kate: Well, I think I might reserve that designation for, say, um, paris.

Clyde: Well, paris, my darling, doesn't have you. Seriously, ever since I got here, things have just been going my way. I'm reunited with my family. My business is booming. I got people thanking me left and right for my generosity. [Chuckles]

Kate: That's great.

Clyde: So what's on your mind?

Kate: Well, I just came from a business meeting with a competitor of yours, Victor Kiriakis, and your name came up.

Clyde: I bet it did. You know, a little competition is a healthy thing, in my mind.

Kate: Well, unfortunately, not in Victor's mind.

Eve: Oh. Hi, sweetheart.

Paige: Mom?

Eve: I was hoping I would find you here. You want to grab some lunch? There's a new sushi place open on Guilford.

Paige: Sorry, I have class in 15 minutes.

Eve: Honey, nobody expects you to attend every college class.

Paige: Mom, I'm not gonna skip class for sushi. What's going on? Are you okay?

Eve: No, I'm fine. I-I'm fine.

Paige: No, you're not. Where were you before you showed up here?

Eve: [Scoffs]

Jennifer: JJ, you can tell me. I need to know why eve was here.

JJ: Well, you know, why don't you just talk to Dr. Dan, see if you can get him to pry it out of me?

Jennifer: I asked Daniel to speak to you because I'm trying to help you.

JJ: No, why do I need help? I don't--

Jennifer: Why? Because you're miserable. You have been beating yourself up about this whole thing with Paige. That's why.

JJ: Why do we have to keep talking about this?

Jennifer: Because I'm worried about you. You are acting exactly the same way you did when you came home from school.

JJ: You know, I'm not on drugs, mom.

Jennifer: No, I don't think you are, but you're shutting down again.

JJ: I just don't want to talk to my mom about my ex-girlfriend. Can you blame me for that?

Jennifer: I'm not trying to pry. But I want to know why eve was here, and I want you to tell me the whole story right now.

JJ: Okay, fine. I'll tell you.

Nicole: You strike me as someone who likes to receive his apologies in person. So I'm here to make a special delivery. From your perspective, I suppose last night went a little something like this. You take me out on a nice date, I spill my drink on Serena, we get in a brawl. You're the only one in the room who stands up for me, and then I thank you by storming out because you wouldn't say you hated the bitch. Have I covered everything?

Daniel: Except for the messages and texts I sent that you still haven't returned.

Nicole: You're right. I really got my work cut out for me. Don't I?

Daniel: Okay, Nicole, this is not a game.

Nicole: You're right. I'm sorry. Daniel, I feel awful about the way I treated you last night, but I just need you to know, I do not take you for granted, and I won't ever. I'm just not used to having people think the best of me. I mean, do you have any idea how much last night meant to me? Of course you don't, because I thanked you for it by acting like an ungrateful bitch.

Daniel: Okay, Nicole--

Nicole: I was just so upset about how everything happened. Not that that's an excuse for the way I treated you, but, I mean, it took me a while to calm down and realize I was taking my frustrations out on the wrong person.

Daniel: What about Serena?

Nicole: What about her? I'm not gonna change my mind about her. She's a nightmare. But... you don't know her very well. And if you don't despise her yet... then I can live with that.

Daniel: Are you sure about that?

Nicole: Yes. And that's all I came to say. So... will you accept my apology?

[Line trilling]

Serena: Hello?

Eric: Hey, Serena. It's me.

Serena: Hey, Eric.

Eric: Are you, uh, you still at work?

Serena: I just finished.

Eric: Great. Any chance we could meet up?

Serena: I guess now could work.

Eric: Well, maybe we can grab a bite at the pub?

Serena: Why don't you open your door?

Eric: My door?

Serena: Yes.

Aiden: You already know what you want?

Chase: I want to go back to the beach house... just one last time. Please, dad.

Aiden: But you got your class trip. You've been talking about it for months.

Chase: Dad, I'll never see it again. I just want to say good-bye.

Ciara: Mom? Grandma said she forgot the sugar, so she told us to come back later.

Hope: Oh, okay. Um...

Ciara: What's wrong with chase?

Hope: Well, let's just give them-- let's give chase a little time alone with his dad, okay? Let 'em talk.

Aiden: [Exhales deeply] Fine. We'll do it.

Chase: We're going to the beach house? Really?

Aiden: Well, you know, I have work to do there. But I'm thinking maybe I can take you out of school a day early, and if Shelly can come with us, we'll--

Chase: I don't need a babysitter.

Aiden: Well, I can't leave you alone. Besides, I'm gonna need her to get you to san Francisco afterwards. Assuming that it all works out, at least we'll be on the same coast.

Chase: Do you mean it, dad?

Aiden: Of course I do. [Chuckles]

Eve: Well, here's what happened. See, I ran into your aunt Theresa before, and she said that you were asking questions about JJ.

Paige: I was just trying to figure out if she was the one who he... you know.

Eve: Oh, sweetheart, you have got to stop trying to find out the sordid details here.

Paige: Why?

Eve: It's like I said before, it's not healthy for you to obsess on something that's completely dead and gone. I mean, good riddance to him, right? Honey, he showed you his true colors in the worst possible way. He's a smug, pathetic loser. And that's-- that is all you need to know.

Paige: No, mom, it isn't.

JJ: I'm the one who wanted to talk to eve... to warn her.

Jennifer: About what?

JJ: I saw Paige with Cole.

Jennifer: Cole? The same Cole that went to jail?

JJ: Yeah. She doesn't know him very well. And maybe she's with him to spite me. I-I don't know. But she doesn't listen to a word I say, and she listens to everything her mom says, and her mom has some good practice with trashing me, so I'm sure she'll do a great job.

Jennifer: Do you really not see it?

JJ: See what, Mom?

Jennifer: You have made yourself believe that you are over Paige and you're just moving on. But I can see how much you really care about her. It is obvious every time we talk, honey. So why aren't you doing everything you can to fix things and just get back together?

Clyde: So why would you bring my name up to Victor?

Kate: I didn't say that I did. I've been hearing rumors, and I've been hearing rumblings, and I have to admit that I'm just concerned.

Clyde: Concerned for who... me or the old man?

Damon: Excuse me, Mr. Kiriakis?

Victor: Damon. You have some news for me?

Damon: As a matter of fact, I do. Word on the street is that two men have been contacted about going to work for Weston-- short-term contract.

Victor: You have names?

Damon: Right here.

Serena: I just-- I needed to clear my head. You didn't think I was mad at you, did you?

Eric: I wasn't sure.

Serena: Eric, no, of course not. Why would I be mad at you? Everything you said and did was... perfect. And I'm sorry I haven't gotten back to you sooner. I just--I had to work a deadline. But I'm free now, so...

Eric: Yeah.

Serena: Why don't we, um, order in lunch?

Eric: That sounds great... except I have to deliver some photos to Jennifer that she needs to finish the quarterly report.

Serena: Okay. I mean, I guess I could just run my errands now, and maybe we can meet up later?

Eric: Great.

Serena: Okay. So text me.

Eric: Yeah.

Serena: Thanks. [Chuckles] Eric... everything between us is totally, completely fine. In case you don't believe me...

[Door closes]

Eric: [Sighs]

Daniel: Wow. You, uh--you do good apology.

Nicole: [Chuckles] Not everyone would agree.

Daniel: I'm not everyone.

Nicole: Oh, very true.

Daniel: Mmm. Just so you know, I had a conversation with Serena earlier.

Nicole: Oh, okay. [Clears throat] Now ask me if I care. You know, come on, come on, let's not ruin the mood by talking about her.

Daniel: Yeah, let's not. Let's--let's get out of here and just do something.

Nicole: Like what?

Daniel: Oh, whatever you want. Ooh, except I'm waiting for a package. I think it--they could leave it at the door.

Nicole: [Chuckles] Uh, that sounds great...

Daniel: Okay.

Nicole: ...Except...

Daniel: What?

Nicole: Well, if we leave now... we're gonna miss out on the best part about having a fight.

Daniel: Hmm? What's that?

Nicole: The makeup sex.

Daniel: Oh. Mmm.

Nicole: [Chuckles]

Daniel: I like the way you put it.

Nicole: Mmm. Whoo! [Chuckles]

Daniel: Keep going.

[Cell phone ringing] You keep going.

Nicole: Mm. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Sorry. [Chuckles] Ugh. It's miles. He has a question about tonight's broadcast.

Daniel: Mm.

Nicole: Can I meet you in the shower?

Daniel: Uh, yeah. I will be waiting. Make it quick.

Nicole: [Chuckles] Kerri: Kerri the sparkleŽ fairy here.

Jennifer: But just listen to what I have to say. Don't you ever tell yourself that you are not worthy, because you are. You have worked so hard to put your life back together, and if anyone deserves happiness right now, JJ, it is you. And you have to believe that.

JJ: Mom, I know who I am, okay? I know exactly who I am. And I am through pretending to be something that I'm not. Get it through your head.

Paige: Do you know what JJ told his friend Rory about what he did? He called it a mistake.

Eve: Well, honey, of course it was a mistake. He blew it with you.

Paige: No, mom, don't you get it? It means he feels bad about what he did to me. He acted like it was no big deal, like there was nothing wrong with just... but now I know he feels bad about it, and he regrets it.

Eve: Okay, okay, wait. Time-out here. Are you saying that you want this boy back?

Paige: No, that's-- that's not what I'm saying at all. What I mean is, I still don't know the whole story. I-I don't know who JJ slept with.

Eve: Honey, look at me. Does it really matter?

Paige: Yes, because I can't move on until I know. And I'm going to find out. I'm late for class.

Eve: [Sighs]

Ciara: Is everything okay?

Chase: Everything's great. My dad's letting me go back to the beach house one last time. You and your mom should come too.

Aiden: No.

Chase: But--

Abigail: I said no.

Damon: The first one used to work for--

Victor: I know who they are and what they do and what that arrogant bastard hopes to accomplish by putting them on his payroll. [Sighs] I warned him what would happen. First, pushing the drugs, then coming in taking things that didn't belong to him, and now this.

Damon: Word is Weston had his man, Jeremiah, reach out to these professionals. This Jeremiah can be taken care of very easy.

Victor: No, this fish stinks from the head, Damon. Time to cut it off.

Kate: Like I was trying to tell you at the nightclub, before you came to Salem, when Victor and Stefano went head-to-head, there were no winners. There were only losers.

Clyde: Don't tell me, they were fighting over you, huh?

Kate: [Scoffs] No, no.

Clyde: Listen, darling, you know how I feel about you. But I didn't ask for your help on this one, did I? Now, if I need it, I'll holler, I promise. But don't hold your breath waiting, okay?

[Cell phone ringing]

Clyde: Damn.

Kate: What?

Clyde: My son's been arrested.

Kate: For what?

Clyde: I don't know. You'll have to excuse me. I need to see to this.

Kate: Sure.

Daniel: No, maybe Nicole's right. Maybe I don't have to worry.

[Knock at door]

Serena: Nicole. Well, uh, apparently this is a bad time, so I'll be back.

Nicole: Don't go. There's no one I'd rather see at this moment... and I mean no one.
