Episode #12506 ~ Clyde forces Jordan to face a traumatic memory she's long repressed; JJ makes a stunning confession to Jennifer; Eve suggests to Paige that they leave Salem; Melanie & Brady agree not to tell anyone about their burgeoning relationship.
Provided By SuzanneMelanie: So we're in agreement?
Brady: I hope so. Are you coming by the house later?
Melanie: It's a date.
Daniel: So you're going on a date?
Daniel: Who with?
JJ: When Paige was out in L.A., I--
Jennifer: What? You what? Just say it.
JJ: I hooked up with someone else.
Eve: You--you know who JJ slept with? What exactly did he tell you?
Kate: Thanks, Mr. Shin. I'm glad to hear we're all on the same page. And we'll talk to you again next week.
Kate: What did you just say?
Chad: Good-bye in mandarin, I hope.
Chad: I think that went well.
Kate: Yeah. Yes, that was a thrill a minute. What are you doing?
Chad: You mind telling me what that little show down at the hospital was today?
Kate: What show?
Chad: The one where you got the media to appoint your little hillbilly boyfriend as the patron saint of Salem.
Jordan: You're just making up lies like you always do. No! [Grunts]
Clyde: It's time you faced up to what you did, girl. You didn't just kill your mama. She was pregnant. That's what she told you, and that's what made you do what you did. You killed the baby she was carrying, and you knew you were doing it. You not only killed your mama, you killed our son right along with her.
Jordan: No, that's not true!
Clyde: I wouldn't want to remember either if I were you, but it happened, and you know it.
Paige: Mom, he didn't tell me her name. [Crying]
Eve: Honey, then why did you say that you know her?
Paige: Because of the way he was acting, Mom. And I said to him-- I said, "it's somebody I know, isn't it?" And I saw the look in his eye. He couldn't deny it.
Eve: Hey, he didn't confirm it either, right?
Paige: Well, at first, I thought it was Bev Walters. She's always had a thing for JJ, and she hates me. Then I ran into her, and she didn't brag about it, so...
Eve: So, honey, you were wrong.
Paige: Well, about that, yeah, but I'm not wrong about it being somebody I know. Whoever she was, she had to have known how I felt about JJ. Everybody knows. And she went ahead and slept with him anyway. Who would do something like that, mom? Who?
Jennifer: Okay, I can see why you're upset with yourself. Does Paige know? How'd she find out?
JJ: I told her. I just figured that she had the right to know.
Jennifer: Okay, well, is this a girl that I know? Is it someone that you care about?
JJ: Care about? Are you kidding me? Mom, I hate her guts.
Ben: I never should've let Clyde talk me into keeping this from Jordan. I knew it was gonna come back to bite me.
Abigail: If you would've told her, then this idea of your sister's would still be just an idea.
Ben: Well, it would still be better than her finding out that I'm lined up with Clyde.
Abigail: Look, she hasn't seen what this money can do yet, okay? Once she does, once she sees that, then she's gonna find a way to accept that he's a part of this.
Ben: Are you serious, Abigail? What the hell is wrong with you?
Clyde: Your mama was carrying my baby.
Jordan: No! You keep trying to make me believe things that didn't happen.
Clyde: You remember getting her into that truck.
Jordan: No. See, that's not the way it went down. She begged me to drive her.
Clyde: Oh, yeah? And where were you going? You must know that.
Jordan: No, I don't know. I don't know. She--she didn't say. She didn't know.
Clyde: Well, come on now. You had some place to take her, and you needed the truck to get there.
Jordan: No, leave me alone.
Clyde: Where were you going?
Jordan: I don't-- she--I don't know, okay! She--she said she had to go, and I had to take her. We were in a hurry. And I told her, "mama, I don't know how to drive a stick shift."
Clyde: Where were you going?
Jordan: We were going-- [Crying] We were going to the doctor's office. No.
Clyde: That's right.
Clyde: That's right.
Clyde: But she wasn't sick, so why would she need to see a doctor?
Jordan: No, no, no, it had to be an accident. No, it had to be. I would never hurt her!
Clyde: Why would she need to see a doctor?
Jordan: [Sobbing] Because of the baby. Because of the baby.
Melanie: I just think you have dating on the brain because you're about to go on one with Nicole tonight.
Daniel: Okay, if you found somebody you liked and had fun with, I'd be happy for you.
Daniel: Just saying. As long as it was somebody I approved of.
Melanie: Isn't that supposed to work both ways?
Daniel: Okay, I was up front about Nicole. I didn't try to hide it from you. I just didn't give you veto power.
Melanie: Yeah, I noticed that.
Daniel: Yeah, that's reserved for fathers with impetuous daughters.
Melanie: I see.
Melanie: Okay, well, I'm gonna go get ready to hang out with my friend that I was just talking to on the phone before you came in.
Daniel: Oh, you got to do that right now.
Melanie: Right now.
Melanie: Yep, gonna get ready.
Daniel: Hey, Brady. It's Daniel.
Brady: Hey, man. What's up?
Daniel: You and I have a problem.
Abigail: Why are you jumping all over me?
Ben: Because you're acting like Jordan should just get over what Clyde did to her.
Abigail: No--no, I'm not. I'm not acting like she should just get over this. All I'm saying is that she should try to maybe acknowledge the fact that he is trying to change. Ben, we've talked about this. You're letting him pay your tuition.
Ben: Abigail, that's me. She was the oldest. She had it the worst. She was the one who risked everything for us to get away from him.
Abigail: I know. I know. I understand that, okay? I do. But eventually, she's gonna see that Clyde was only trying to make this project a success. She's gonna get it, and she'll stop being mad at you.
Ben: That's not true.
Abigail: Why? Why? Ben, it's not like you came up with some plan to make sure she would find out so that Clyde could take all the credit or anything, right? Ben?
Ben: I think I might know where she could've gone.
Abigail: Okay, well, wait. Where are you going?
Ben: I just have to check on something.
Kate: I have no idea what you're talking about.
Chad: So you haven't seen the online stories about Clyde's selfless contribution to Jordan's charity project?
Kate: Oh, my-- and if you think he's gonna be happy about me having a hand in what happened, then you don't know him at all.
Chad: Oh, nice try, because I watched you pushing the reporters to identify the mystery donor.
Kate: To protect the hospital. I'm a board member. So are you.
Chad: [Chuckles] Protect it from what?
Kate: From that do-gooder scheme that's the brainchild-- and I'm using the word "brain" advisedly--of those two airheads who could barely run a hair dryer together.
Chad: That's enough. Jordan is not an airhead, and neither is Abigail.
Chad: This project is going forward. In fact, it would not even exist if it weren't for Jordan. It was her idea.
Kate: [Laughing] Please. If that woman ever had an idea, it would die of loneli--
Chad: I said enough! Back off Jordan. I mean it.
Clyde: That's right. She wanted to go to the doctor 'cause of the baby. She was carrying my baby, and you knew that meant she wouldn't leave me like you wanted her to. And that's why you did it.
Clyde: They told me, you know. It was a little boy. Your baby brother.
Jordan: No. No, it was an accident. It had to be.
Clyde: Drink it. Go on, drink it. Now, after the crash, even though I lost my wife and my child, I got you out of there, and I protected you, 'cause I knew your brother was gonna need you more than ever. As for what happened after that, I've told you how sorry I am, how much I regret that, and one day, I will have to answer to my maker for what I did. But for now, you will treat me with more respect. I got a chance with Ben. You do anything to mess that up, I will tell him everything: How you climbed behind the wheel of that truck and deliberately killed his mama...
Clyde: And his baby brother. Are you listening to what I'm saying?
Brady: Uh, Daniel, I don't know what you're talking about. What kind of problem do we have?
Daniel: Well, I was driving myself crazy today trying to remember who I loaned my mountain bike to last year.
Brady: Yeah. [Laughs] Yeah, yeah, it was me. It was me. It's still in the garage. I forgot all about it. I haven't been doing a lot of biking in the last couple months. So I'm sorry about that.
Daniel: You want to make it up to me?
Brady: Anything. What?
Daniel: Bring it back to me.
Brady: Sure. Sure. When?
Daniel: Yeah, I just got home from the hospital, and I got to go out tonight. I got to get ready. Tomorrow's supposed to be a decent day. I thought I could go for an early morning ride. But it can wait if you're busy.
Brady: No. No, no, no. I'll--I'll-- I've had it for way too long. I'll--I'll be right there.
Daniel: Thanks, buddy.
Melanie: Hey, I just heard you on the phone. Everything okay?
Daniel: Everything's great. Just great.
[Cell phone vibrates]
Jennifer: Just talk to me. Tell me what happened. Maybe--maybe you'll feel better.
Jennifer: I'll get that. Stay right here.
Maggie: Oh, good. You're home.
Jennifer: Uh, yeah. Is something wrong?
Maggie: Oh, absolutely not. Oh, no. I was just out running errands, and it hit me that you and I haven't talked in awhile, so I just thought I'd take a chance. Is this a bad time?
JJ: No. No, I was just on my way out.
Maggie: Oh, okay.
JJ: It's good to see you, aunt Maggie.
Maggie: Great to see you too.
Jennifer: JJ, wait. Aunt Maggie, stay right here.
Jennifer: JJ, please. Please don't leave like this.
Eve: Come on. I want you to listen to me, all right? Paige? You stop trying to figure out who this mystery woman is, okay? It's just gonna make you feel worse. JJ, he--he showed you his true colors, and you should be grateful.
Paige: That's crazy.
Eve: No, no, no. You dodged a bullet here. I mean, do you want to spend the rest of your life just looking around wondering what he's doing when you're not there?
Eve: Of course you don't. That's why now you can just walk away and move on and know that you did the right thing.
Paige: But I don't know how to make it stop hurting, mom.
Paige: [Crying] I was sitting here thinking of, you know, all the times I met JJ right here at the square, and everything that I see reminds me of being with him.
Eve: Well, you know what? Then-- then we'll just get out of here.
Eve: No, we will leave here tonight. We'll go to L.A. Tonight.
Chad: I want you to stop bothering and putting down Jordan, or I promise you, I will make you regret it.
Kate: My, my, my. I think your ordeal has changed you. You're morphing into your dad in some ways. But in the romance department, you are still clueless.
Chad: Yeah, you think you know me. You have no idea who I am.
Kate: Really? So tell me, how many women were there between Abigail and Jordan? I rest my case. Jordan is playing you like a walleyed pike, and the rest of us can just sit back and watch as she reels you in.
Clyde: Pull yourself together and get out of here. You know, I'm sorry, but it was time. Lying to yourself about something you did-- there's no good in that.
[Knocking at door]
Ben: Jordan. What happened here? What the hell did you do to her?
Daniel: Wow. You look--you look great. Where are you and your date going?
Melanie: Nowhere special. All my jeans are in the laundry.
Daniel: Oh, okay. If you say so.
Melanie: What's wrong with trying to look nice?
Daniel: Nothing. Nothing. So you leaving now?
Melanie: Did you update my phone yet?
Daniel: Oh, so you need a man to do that job for you, is that right?
Melanie: Oh, I'm sorry I'm not tech savvy, dad.
Daniel: Well, you got time for me to do it now?
Melanie: Yeah. It's on the table.
[Knock at door]
Melanie: I got it.
Daniel: All right.
Melanie: Hi. What are you doing here?
JJ: Mom, I love you, and I know you care about me, but guys don't talk to their moms about stuff like this, okay? It's just--it's weird.
Jennifer: No, it's not, because I can help you. Please.
JJ: No, you can't, mom.
Jennifer: Just talk to me. Tell me. I mean, tell me that you at least used protection.
JJ: Oh, God, mom. No, that's not the problem.
Jennifer: What? Does that mean that you didn't?
JJ: I can't talk about this. I got to get out of here.
Maggie: Well, it looks like my timing couldn't have been worse. Is JJ all right?
Jennifer: No. He's definitely not all right.
Eve: You know, we could both use a fresh start, and I know daddy and Kimberly would be thrilled. And, you know, you can start Stanford early.
Paige: No, Mom. Just stop, okay? I know what you're doing.
Eve: Oh, honey, what-- what do you mean?
Paige: You don't have to work so hard to protect me. And the winter quarter at Stanford started on the 5th. It's too late. And classes here start tomorrow. Besides, I didn't do anything wrong. I'm not gonna let JJ make me feel like I have to run away.
Eve: Right. You just said that everything that you look at around here reminds you of him. That's all.
Paige: Well, it does, but I'll get over it, okay?
Eve: Okay. You're so strong, sweetheart.
Paige: I wish I was. I need to just walk and get my head straight, okay?
Eve: Do you want me to go with you?
Paige: Mom, I'll be home later.
Eve: That little son of a bitch.
Ben: I asked you a question. Why has she been crying?
Clyde: Well, I think it best if your sister explain that.
Jordan: I came over here to talk to Clyde because he had donated the money without telling me.
Ben: I figured that. That's why I came here.
Jordan: Well, things got pretty intense, but I decided I'm not gonna fight it. And actually, I don't even want to. You know, we talked it out, and the project could really use the money, and it's gonna help a lot of people, and that's all that really matters. And I'm really sorry that I flew off the handle with you. I had no right. I'm really sorry.
Brady: Check your phone. You should probably get those gears checked out before you take that thing out tomorrow.
Daniel: Oh, yeah? Well, so what's wrong?
Brady: I took--I took it for a spin. It was kind of-- it was kind of sticky. I don't--it just-- there's something funky going on. You should probably-- it's in the garage if you want to take a look at it.
Daniel: Nah, I really don't have time to look at it right now, but thanks for bringing it by. I'll check it out later, make sure it's all good to go for my next ride.
Brady: No, I would hate to-- I would hate to screw up something that belonged to you.
Daniel: Nah, I doubt you could ever do that. Look, doesn't she look amazing?
Brady: Wow, yeah. She--she sure does.
Daniel: Yeah. She's going out on a date. Not really telling me where she's going.
Melanie: I got to go.
Daniel: Yeah? Phone's okay? You good with that?
Melanie: Yeah, yeah. Nah, that can wait. I don't want to be late.
Daniel: Are you sure?
Melanie: So bye. Yeah.
Melanie: Okay, all right. Love you.
Daniel: Love you, honey.
Melanie: And I'll see you.
Brady: Yeah. See you around.
Daniel: Oh, get that.
Melanie: Yep. Okay. [Chuckles]
Daniel: [Chuckles] Wow. Okay. Thanks for bringing my bike back.
Brady: Hey, I'm sorry it took so long.
Daniel: Ah, don't worry about it. No worries at all. Why don't you stick around and just tell me what you've been up to?
Brady: You know, I'd like to. I'd like to. I've got to-- I got a meeting I got to get to.
Daniel: All right. All right, well, another time, right?
Brady: Another time.
Brady: See you, man.
Daniel: You bet.
Maggie: It's frustrating when you can't help your children the way you'd like to.
Jennifer: Yeah. [Sniffles]
Maggie: Maybe JJ will be in a different frame of mind when he comes home, and then you can-- you can give it another try.
Jennifer: Yeah. Right.
Maggie: I have to go.
Jennifer: Oh, okay.
Maggie: I love you, you know.
Jennifer: I love you too. And I don't know what I would do if I couldn't talk to you, even though I can't tell you what's wrong.
Maggie: It's okay. I love you.
Jennifer: Love you, aunt Maggie.
Maggie: I'll see myself out.
Jennifer: Okay. Okay, aunt Maggie, you're right. I have to figure out a way to help him, and I am not gonna give up.
Chad: I was--I was looking for Jordan.
Abigail: Uh, right. Of course you were. She's not here. She left. I don't know where she is.
Abigail: Yes, really. She's pretty upset about all this.
Chad: You mean Clyde being the mystery donor.
Abigail: You know, Chad, maybe she wouldn't have taken this as such a shock if you hadn't let her think that this was you.
Chad: Okay, hold on. I never said anything to her to give her that idea. No, honestly. In fact, I didn't even know she thought that until that whole scene in front of the reporters. Okay, you want somebody to blame about Jordan being upset? Why don't you talk to your boyfriend?
Abigail: I've tried to talk to my boyfriend, and he won't listen to me because he's too upset, but thank you.
Chad: Wait, he's upset with you? Why?
Abigail: Because he-- he has every right to be. [Sighs]
Ben: Don't apologize to me. I went along with this whole thing when my gut was telling me to do the exact opposite. I should've just leveled with you from the beginning.
Jordan: No, it's okay. Whatever you do, I know that you're always on my side.
Ben: I always will be.
Jordan: I got to get back to the hospital. I've been gone too long, so...
Ben: Abigail's been trying to call you. She was really worried.
Jordan: Well, I will go find her, let her know that everything's okay.
Clyde: Uh, Ben. Could you stay on for a minute?
Ben: I guess I can. I'll talk to you later.
Daniel: Yeah. That's why I called you. I wanted you to know before you saw us at the opening of Victor's club tonight.
Maggie: Ah, well, thank you.
Maggie: You want me to know about you and Nicole, but you'd rather I didn't express an opinion.
Daniel: Okay, well, I didn't try to hide it, right?
Maggie: No, and I appreciate that. I'm always gonna have reservations about Nicole. You know that.
Daniel: It's funny. Your granddaughter said about the same thing, yeah.
Maggie: Melanie and I both love you, and we want you happy.
Daniel: Yeah, she said that too. But I am. I am. And this time, I have got my eyes wide open.
Melanie: [Laughs] That was embarrassing.
Brady: Yeah, I tried to warn you that I was coming over.
Melanie: Yeah, I know. Sorry. Thank you. We're being weird about something we don't even know if we need to be weird about.
Brady: Yeah, I know. I-- that was awkward with your father. I mean, when he asked me if I thought you looked good in that dress?
Melanie: Oh. [Chuckles]
Brady: I mean, what I wanted to say was-- what I wanted to say was something that you don't say in front of a woman's father.
Brady: Yeah, really. But then, my God. Then I--but another part of me was so worried about, I don't want to hold out on a good friend like Daniel, and-- are we crazy for even thinking about this?
Melanie: I was just gonna ask you the same thing.
Chad: You can't blame yourself for what happened.
Abigail: Ben never wanted to keep Clyde's donation a secret from Jordan. It was me. I'm the one who was afraid that Jordan would refuse the donation if she found out that it was from him.
Chad: Yeah, because you want to know what's important, is getting this project up and running and making it a success. And if Ben is gonna stay mad at you, then-- well, then you know what? He's just a fool who doesn't appreciate how good he has it with someone like you.
Chad: You're welcome. Hey. I've been looking all over for you. Are you okay?
Jordan: Yeah, I'm fine. Why wouldn't I be? [Sighs]
Abigail: Jordan, I'm really sorry about all this.
Jordan: No, no, no. You know what? I am the one that should be sorry. I overreacted, and then I pulled a disappearing act, and-- especially when we have so much work to get done today. I'm sorry, but I've already wasted so much of our time today.
Abigail: I don't know if you want to maybe get started. If you don't want to--
Jordan: No, no. Yeah, that's okay.
Clyde: Well, I just wanted to apologize for sticking you in the middle of this mess. I think your sister's gotten beyond the shock and surprise and is starting to see how much good that money'll do. Maybe she can start seeing how much a man can change too, huh? That's not too much to hope for, is it?
Ben: If she's okay with it, I'm okay with it. I guess we'll just see what happens next.
Clyde: Oh, I know exactly what happens next. You're starting school tomorrow, aren't you?
Ben: I'm really looking forward to it.
Clyde: You always were a good student.
Ben: Anyway, I got to be going. I'm on break from work.
Clyde: Yeah, I won't keep you. Oh! Hello. [Laughs]
Clyde: Am I late for our dinner date? I lost track of the time. I was-- you know my son, Ben, don't you?
Kate: Yes, I do. Hi.
Kate: No. And--no, you're not late. Actually, I came over here to apologize. I'm sure Ben told you that I was the idiot who pressured him into telling that you were the anonymous donor for the charity.
Clyde: Come on. No apology necessary. All's well that ends well, right, Ben?
Ben: I guess so. Anyway, I was just telling Clyde I have to get back to work.
Kate: Oh, okay.
Clyde: Take care, son.
Daphne: I got your text. How are you doing?
Paige: I guess the scene I made with JJ in the lounge hasn't made the rounds yet.
Daphne: What happened?
Paige: Well, the high point was me slapping him across the face.
Daphne: [Laughs] Oh, he had it coming. Did he tell you who he hooked up with?
Paige: But I'm sure it was somebody that I know.
Daphne: This is killing you, isn't it?
Paige: It's pretty bad.
Daphne: I'm sorry. I feel really guilty for pushing you to have it out with him. Maybe you should just-- I don't know. Forget about him?
Paige: Yeah, that's-- that's what my mom wants me to do too.
JJ: What do you want?
Eve: Are you insane? Are you trying to make things worse here?
JJ: No, I'm trying to fix it.
Eve: By telling Paige that you slept with somebody? How's that fixing it, JJ?
JJ: Well, I figured it would be it for her and me. Isn't that what you wanted?
Eve: Not if she's trying to figure out who it is. She is convinced that she knows the woman.
JJ: Well, I never said that.
Eve: No, no. You--she brought it up. You just had that guilty look on your face. Yeah, apparently you're just a Jim dandy of a liar to everybody else but her. But I want to know why I'm hearing it from my daughter and not from you.
JJ: I don't owe you a damn thing.
Eve: No. You owe Paige, damn it. And you better not mess this up. Living with chronic migraine
Daniel: Well, this is a surprise.
Jennifer: Yeah. Um, I was really calling to ask you a huge favor. It's about JJ.
Daniel: Is something wrong?
Jennifer: Could we talk about it in person?
Daniel: Uh, well, I only have a minute right now, and then I'm busy tonight.
Jennifer: Uh, how 'bout tomorrow?
Jennifer: There's just something going on with him, and, uh, I don't think that I can help him the way you can.
Daniel: I'd do anything for JJ. You know that.
Jennifer: I am so grateful to hear you say that, and I really appreciate it. So, um, I'll check my schedule, and I'll give you a call tomorrow, okay? Thank you. Bye-bye. Okay. I just hope this works. And if it doesn't, I'm gonna keep on trying.
Eve: Did you tell your little pothead friends about us?
JJ: No. Do you think I would want anybody to know that?
Eve: Well, then why'd you shoot your mouth off to Paige?
JJ: Okay, all I said was--
Eve: Was the stupidest thing you could've said, 'cause now she's trying to figure out who the woman is.
JJ: Well, tell her that that would just make things worse.
Eve: I did, JJ, but I still don't think she's gonna drop it, all right?
JJ: Okay, she will, because she hates me, and I'm the last person that she wants to think about right now.
Eve: Well, you know what? You better hope that's true, 'cause I am all she has right now, and if you take that away from her by telling her about us, it will destroy her. It will destroy her, JJ, and you know it. And if you love her as much as you say that you do...
JJ: Yeah, I love her.
Eve: Well, then you know that she cannot ever, ever find out about us.
Daphne: Don't you think the best thing to do is to just--
Paige: What? Forget about it?
Paige: JJ was like the best thing that ever happened to me.
Daphne: He cheated on you.
Paige: Well, that was because I told him my mom and I were never coming back from L.A. He thought he'd lost me. That's when some little bitch got to him. I'm gonna find out who she is if it's the last thing I ever do, and I'm gonna make her as miserable as she's made me.
Abigail: Anne cornered me today.
Jordan: Ugh, now what?
Abigail: Yeah, she said that she has some very serious reservations about our project.
Abigail: I know. She wants to have a meeting with the two of us. Jordan, are you sure you're okay? I mean, I know you're not okay, but you seem like you're a little distracted, and we absolutely don't have to do this right now.
Jordan: No, no. I'm just tired. Oh, uh, we need to make copies of the revisions that we made to give to Anne and Seth burns.
Abigail: Yeah, I'll go do it.
Abigail: I'll definitely-- I'll just get on that right now.
Jordan: Thank you.
Abigail: Yeah. Jordan, I'm really glad that we're working this out.
Jordan: Me too.
Clyde: Woman, you are a master.
Kate: Well, I gather you saw some of the online coverage.
Clyde: I have.
Kate: You know, Chad thinks that they're making you out to be a saint, but I think you undersold it. Working so hard not to take credit for all that generosity-- that's a move worthy of tom Horton.
Clyde: Who's that?
Kate: The patron saint of this town.
Kate: The real one.
Clyde: Well, I would like to be a fly on the wall when Victor Kiriakis reads those stories.
Kate: Why do you care what he thinks?
Clyde: I don't know. I get the feeling he just doesn't like me. I just can't figure it out why.
Clyde: I don't know. Maybe it's 'cause I got you.
Brady: When you and I were doing that dance in front of your father back there...
Brady: It occurred to me that if we were to--if--
Melanie: "Take it to the next level"?
Brady: I hate that expression so much.
Melanie: I know! I know.
Brady: It is the most ridiculous--
Melanie: Me too. Me too.
Brady: But, yeah. He could think that I'm the worst person in the world for you, you know that?
Melanie: You guys are friends.
Brady: When I fell off the wagon, Melanie, I-- I was a jerk to him. I was to everybody.
Melanie: You're sober now. You've always been great to me. You know, my dad could think I'm the worst person in the world for you too.
Brady: I can't imagine why.
Melanie: So we're--we're back to--to where we started, where we--the talking about whether or not we should date.
Brady: Mm-hmm. Let's get out of here. Let's--let's just leave this room please. Let's go.
Melanie: Good call. No more close calls.
Brady: No more close calls.
