[Knock at door]

Chad: Yeah? Hey. What a surprise. I was just thinking about you. How was work today?

Jordan: Interesting. I ran into an old friend of yours, Melanie Jonas.

Chad: Since it seems you came straight from work to my doorstep, I guess my name came up.

Jordan: It did.

Chad: Mm-hmm. And you said that she was an old friend. Is that the term that she used?

Jordan: Not exactly.

Chad: I didn't think so. Well, I'd like you to hear my side of things. I'm guessing she said something along the lines of I lied to her and almost ruined her life.

Jordan: And your side?

Chad: She's right. It's all completely true.

Maggie: I want you to own New Year's Eve.

Melanie: Isn't it interesting that right after Christmas they have a shallow yet somehow trashy holiday?

Maggie: Oh, stop. I gotta find my purse. Where is it?

Melanie: Right, okay.

Maggie: And since I'm buying, I better find that purse. Okay, hold on.

Brady: It's not bad. Maggie! You know, I was thinking that-- hi. I'm glad you're here. I was--I was just thinking about you.

Serena: [Clears throat] Eric. I wasn't expecting you.

Eric: Yeah, that seems so. I'm sorry to catch you like this.

Serena: I'm not.

Eric: [Chuckles]

Daniel: Oh, thank you for-- for waiting, yeah.

Nicole: Of course. [Chuckles] What's this?

Daniel: Uh, I don't know. Open it. Find out.

[Phone rings]

JJ: What do you want, Paige?

Paige: I've left you a ton of messages. Why are you ignoring me?

JJ: I thought I made it clear on Christmas that we're over.

Paige: Well, here's what you didn't make clear: Why? What changed?

JJ: Paige, I just don't want to talk about it.

Paige: Well, too bad. After everything that we've been through, I deserve an answer, and you know it. Why, JJ? Why?

Brady: I drove by that taco truck. You know, the one with the great tacos. You're the one that found it, remember?

Melanie: What are you doing here?

Brady: I live here.

Melanie: Right, no. Sorry, that's--oh--just Maggie said you were working.

Brady: Well, I was, I was, and then they broke out the champagne, and I thought I should probably leave that scenario, you know.

Melanie: Mm-hmm.

Brady: Something wrong?

Melanie: No, of course not. Why--why would you think that?

Brady: You just don't seem very happy to see me.

JJ: I just really don't think that we should do this.

Paige: All I'm asking for is an explanation. Look, JJ, if I have to, I'll go over there and bang on your front door until you talk to me. I swear I will, so...

JJ: Fine. Can--can you meet me in the park in 15 minutes?

Paige: Great. I'll see you there.

Jennifer: Hey.

JJ: Thought you were at work.

Jennifer: I was just leaving. And I just heard you on the phone. You wanna tell me what's going on?

Jordan: Well, she didn't exactly use the term "ruin her life," but she made it very clear that she didn't look back fondly on the time she spent with you.

Chad: Uh, I don't blame her. I made a lot of mistakes.

Jordan: You two were engaged?

Chad: Yeah.

Jordan: Why didn't you mention that to me? I work at the hospital. I would have found out sooner or later, especially now that she's back.

Chad: I know. I--I guess I just thought it'd be best if you found out from Melanie.

Jordan: Really? Why?

Chad: Because if I told you, then it would be self-serving, and I did not want you to think that I was trying to justify something that I can't.

Jordan: What did you do?

Chad: I knew that Gabi Hernandez hired the guy who kidnapped and almost killed Melanie. But instead of telling Melanie, I let her go on thinking she and Gabi were friends. And at the time, I told myself that I was just trying to protect her.

Jordan: Weren't you?

Chad: No. I was--I was trying to control her.

Melanie: Don't be stupid! Of course I'm happy to see you. I just--I'm a little, um-- I'm a little wired up because I was supposed to go shopping with grandma for New Year's dresses.

Brady: So the idea of going shopping with Maggie put you in a bad mood?

Melanie: I'm not in a bad mood.

Brady: Yeah, you're chipper.

Melanie: Okay, no. I'm a little anxious, I guess.

Brady: Yeah, because of me, I guess.

Melanie: No, no, no. Uh, it's a silly girl thing. I just--it's my first New Year's back, and I wanted to look good. And so we were gonna go to the stores, but it's kind of late. So most of them are closed, and the ones that aren't closed have probably already been picked through.

Brady: You--you don't have anything to worry about. You always look good.

Maggie: Oh, Brady, you're back early.

Brady: Yeah, I decided to skip the work party and work here.

Maggie: Yeah, well, they can be a little tedious. Mm.

Melanie: You have your purse, yay!

Maggie: I do, I do. Um, honey, listen, I got a call from someone in A.A. The holidays can be a rough time for a lot of people. I'm afraid I'm gonna have to pass on our shopping trip. I--I'm really sorry.

Melanie: Yeah, well, you should be. Somebody's sobriety over a New Year's dress for me, I mean, really?

Maggie: [Laughs] I'll see you later.

Melanie: Okay, love you.

Maggie: Love you. Bye.

Brady: Bye.

Melanie: So good to see you.

Brady: Oh, hey, hey, listen, wait, hold on. I need to go out and go shopping too, so why don't we go together? We'll go shopping together.

Melanie: No, no, absolutely not.

Serena: I was just napping.

Eric: In my old t-shirt.

Serena: Don't get a swelled head. I am not wearing this because of you and memories. I'm wearing it because it is the most comfortable t-shirt in the history of t-shirts. Eric, is that-- is that a pie in your hand?

Eric: Yes, yes, it is. My--uh, my grandmother, she made it for you. She also wanted me to bring it over, with this. It's an invitation to our New Year's Eve party at the pub.

Serena: I thought I was already invited to the party at the pub.

Eric: Yeah, you were. I told my grandma you were my date, but she doesn't trust me enough not to blow it, so she made pecan coffee liqueur pie. She's bringing out the big guns.

Serena: Um, she doesn't know how easily I am bought.

Eric: I see you still have the flower that Nicole sent you.

Serena: Yeah. Yeah, it's pretty. And so is the--the note that came with it. It's nice. She didn't have to apologize.

Eric: No, I think she did. Just glad, for once, she took the high road.

Nicole: [Gasps] Oh, my... these are tickets to the mayor's New Year's Eve ball.

Daniel: Yeah.

Nicole: Are you-- are you saying we're finally going on our first date?

Daniel: I think it means we're finally going on our first--first date. Yeah.

Nicole: Well--but I thought you had to work tonight.

Daniel: Yeah, I thought so too. We're so short-staffed, but the schedule opened up, just last minute.

Nicole: Just last minute.

Daniel: Yeah, just like that.

Nicole: Well, that's great. Good for me, right? Wait a minute, I bet you had to pull a lot of strings to get these tickets. It's a very exclusive event.

Daniel: Yeah, I gave the mayor a gift card for a free appendectomy.

Nicole: [Laughs] Ah! We're gonna have so much fun.

Daniel: Oh, I remember you saying something about that once or twice.

Nicole: Daniel, thank you so much. I mean, this is-- this is like a new start, and I could really use one.

Daniel: Yeah. Yeah, me too. It's nice looking forward to seeing just what happens.

Nicole: Sure is.

Daniel: You know, but first, I have to ask you one more time. Are you sure you're ready for this?

Paige: How much did you hear?

Eve: Well, enough to know that you and JJ are having problems.

Paige: Yeah, but JJ knows what those problems are. I don't.

Eve: Honey, can you tell me what happened Christmas day? I mean, you've been so quiet and sad ever since then, and I know you're not seeing JJ.

Paige: Yeah, and you must be thrilled.

Eve: Honey, look at me. I am not thrilled that you're in pain. But I think I did try to warn you that boys can be so fickle, you know.

Paige: Not JJ. You don't know what you're talking about, okay? JJ and I are gonna be fine.

Eve: [Sighs] No, sweetheart. That's just not true.

Jennifer: I heard you arguing with Paige, so obviously you haven't worked things out.

JJ: No.

Jennifer: But it sounds like she's in town. I heard you say you were going to meet her.

JJ: Yeah, she's back, and it turns out her grandpa wasn't sick and that she and her mom decided not to stay in L.A.

Jennifer: Okay, well, that's good news. You know, I think it's really better to deal with this whole situation face-to-face.

JJ: Nah, mom, we can't work things out. It's over.

Jennifer: Honey, that doesn't make any sense.

JJ: You know what, people break up. It happens all the time.

Jennifer: Oh, well, thank you for reminding me of that because I had no idea.

JJ: I just don't understand why it's such a big deal to you 'cause I'm young, and most of my friends don't even have a girlfriend.

Jennifer: JJ, this is you we're talking about.

JJ: In fact, they thought that it was kind of weird, you know, being so serious about a girl, and...

Jennifer: Oh, really?

JJ: It's just, they kind of made fun of me.

Jennifer: Okay, well, again, we're talking about you. We're not talking about your friends. We're not talking about what your friends think, JJ.

JJ: What if it's what I think? That being my age and being so serious about a girl, it's just...

Jennifer: What? It's just what?

JJ: Just not a good idea.

Jennifer: It is if you love her.

JJ: Okay, look, it doesn't matter. That's not what's wrong.

Jennifer: No, you're right. That's not what's wrong, and you talking about being too young to be so serious is not what's wrong. You just don't wanna tell me what's going on. Does this have anything to do with eve?

JJ: No. Why would you even ask that?

Jennifer: Because she's been giving you grief ever since she heard about you and Paige, and if she is causing problems for you, I am telling you right now, I am gonna march right over--

JJ: Okay, look, mom, I'll tell you later, okay, but right now, I have to go, all right? But what you need to know is, it has nothing to do with eve.

Jennifer: Somehow, I don't buy that.

Melanie: [Laughs] That wasn't an overreaction. "Hey, Melanie, wanna go shopping?" "No, absolutely not." You must think I'm crazy.

Brady: No, I don't--I think you might be mad at me.

Melanie: No.

Brady: I think you're mad at me.

Melanie: No, absol--why-- why would I be mad at you? You've been great. You've been really great, so why would I feel anything other than fine or awkward or weird or uncomfortable around you? None of those things!

Brady: Well, I'm glad I'm-- I'm glad that you're not any of those things that you just mentioned.

Melanie: Yeah. No, so any--obviously any-- any awkwardness or uncomfortableness or weirdness that you're feeling has nothing to do with you. I mean, to be honest, I was just gonna see Maggie and hang out with her because she wanted to hang out, so we were gonna go shopping together because I haven't gotten to see her in forever because I've been busy with work and the hospital, which I guess is the same thing, 'cause I work at the hospital now with the job. But the bottom line is that it has nothing to do with you.

Brady: Right. I-I'm so glad that you're making time for Maggie.

Melanie: I gotta go.

Brady: Yeah, well, I don't see you, happy new y--to--happ--

Melanie: Yes, absolutely. Happy New Year's to you too. So good to see you, Brady.

Brady: What just happened?

JJ: I think I'm in love with you.

Paige: And I love you.

JJ: God, how can I do this to her? Hey.

Paige: That's it? All you have to say to me is "hey"?

JJ: No, it isn't. I'm sorry I wasn't returning any of your messages. That wasn't cool.

Paige: I don't care what's cool or what isn't. I wanna know what's going on. We get through all that stuff, I thought everything was okay, and then just like that, it's over, and you won't even tell me why.

JJ: Look, I'm sorry that I was sending mixed messages. And what I was doing and what I did at Christmas, that-- just blurting it out that we're over, that-- that wasn't right. It's not what I wanted to say, and I really wish that I could take it back.

Paige: You mean that?

JJ: Yeah, I mean that.

Paige: Oh, thank God. Oh, I was so scared I'd lost you.

Serena: Mmm. This is amazing. Are you sure you don't want some?

Eric: Oh, want some, uh-- what?

Serena: What is with you?

Eric: What do you mean?

Serena: I don't know, you're suddenly distracted.

Eric: You know what? I think I, uh, I think I should go.

Serena: Why?

Eric: [Chuckles] Hey, this is all a little too-- too tempting. And I'm not just talking about pie.

Serena: Becoming a priest really has changed you. You didn't run from temptation back in the day. In fact, I remember you often had seconds. And I'm not talking about pie either.

Eric: Like I said, I think we should take things slow.

Serena: As long as we take it somewhere.

Nicole: You wouldn't be talking about Eric, would you?

Daniel: Well, I know how much you love...d, loved, uh, but I can't help thinking that a part of you is just not ready to let him go.

Nicole: Melanie, listen to me, okay? I can explain.

Melanie: Okay, I'm sure you can. How about I take a whack at it, though? Um, you found out Eric's ex-girlfriend is back in town, so you thought you'd sneak into her room and snoop around. How am I doing so far?

Nicole: Any reason in particular you would be bringing that up now?

Daniel: No, no, no, no, no. No, I just don't want to start anything unless you're certain. You're absolutely, positively ready to get--

Nicole: Okay, all right. We've already talked about this. Eric is moving on, and that is something that I would like to do, okay? And I wouldn't have suggested that we go out on a date if that weren't the truth, okay? But if you don't believe me...

Daniel: No, no, no, no. I do, no, I do, really. Hey, I do, Nicole. I trust you.

Nicole: Good. So what time are you picking me up?

Daniel: Well, I got a few things I need to take care of at the hospital, and then I'm gonna--I'll, uh, I'll text you.

Nicole: You gonna text me?

Daniel: I'm gonna text you later the time.

Nicole: Okay, great.

Daniel: Yeah, okay. Well, I'll see you-- see you later.

Nicole: Yeah, all right. Bye.

Daniel: Bye.

Nicole: Daniel.

Daniel: Yeah?

Nicole: You know, I thought this was gonna be another one of those grim New Year's Eves, where I have to fake being happy, but now I can't wait.

Daniel: Good.

Eric: I--I better... I'll be back to pick you up.

Serena: I can't wait.

Derrick: Excuse me.

Eric: Excuse me.

Derrick: Something else you'll learn real quick. Never let anyone other than the guest into a room. I made that mistake the other day. Some woman insisted on leaving some flower--you know, one of those fancy ones that cost a ton, for her friend in the room, so I let her in. Talk about drama. I had to back up her story to someone else, and I'm lucky I wasn't fired.

Eric: Excuse me. I was just waiting for the elevator and overheard your story. Could you tell me exactly what happened?

Eric: You said it was a fancy flower. Was it an orchid?

Derrick: Go see if they need you in the lobby.

Eric: Okay.

Derrick: Uh, why are you asking?

Eric: Because I'm friends with the guest in that room.

Derrick: Lucky her. Well, I can assure you that the woman I let in was very trustworthy, and it was all above board. She just wanted to leave the flower and a note.

Eric: Okay. So why did you let her into the room to do that? Why didn't you just do it yourself?

Derrick: Well, see, she insisted I give her a little time alone in the room to write the note, so it was all very innocent.

Eric: Yeah, I bet it was. Thank you.

Chad: And so when I saw Nick with Melanie's scarf, I just went--I went nuts. And I couldn't find her, so I had assumed he did something with her.

Jordan: And you beat him up that badly?

Chad: I would've gone to prison if he pressed charges.

Jordan: So you signed an agreement to not let anyone know what Gabi had done.

Chad: By then, I--I really wanted to tell Melanie, but I couldn't. So I just became more and more obsessive and needy, exactly like I was with Abigail.

Jordan: Melanie said you had a dark side.

Chad: When I was with her. And when I was with Abigail. Yeah, I did.

Jordan: But not now?

Chad: I guess getting shot and almost dying changes a guy. What are you thinking?

Jordan: It's just-- it's a lot to process. This is a lot of new information.

Chad: And now that you have that information, uh... what are you gonna do with it?

Melanie: Hey.

Eve: Mmm.

Melanie: Oh, sorry. Uh, this just fell off the back of your chair. I thought I would give it-- before somebody takes it.

Eve: Oh, my gosh, thank you so much.

Melanie: Yeah, no problem.

Eve: Yeah. Excuse me? You look so familiar to me. Have--have we met?

Melanie: I don't think so. I used to live here. I just moved back, actually. I'm Melanie Jonas.

Eve: Oh, you're Daniel Jonas' daughter. Yeah, he showed me a picture of you once.

Melanie: Oh, you know my dad?

Eve: Uh-huh.

Melanie: What's your name?

Eve: Eve Larson.

Melanie: Ah. So you're the hateful woman that sued my best friend's mom.

Jennifer: Maxine, is it printing?

Maxine: Yes, it is. I told you it was twice.

Jennifer: I'm sorry. I'm just--I'm just so jumpy this afternoon.

Maxine: You're jumpy about printing... trends in patient response to triage processing? Honey, you're taking your job way too seriously.

Jennifer: No, I am jumpy about something personal and just... someone I have to set straight, that's all.

Maxine: You're little, and you're nice, and I pray you never see a need to set me straight. I will get these distributed for you, so you're good to go. Give 'em hell.

Jennifer: Thank you, Maxine.

Maxine: Happy New Year.

Jennifer: You too. Happy New Year. [Sighs]

Daniel: Hey.

Jennifer: Hi.

Daniel: You're--you're still here.

Jennifer: Yeah.

Daniel: Do you--do you, uh, do you have a minute?

JJ: Paige...

Paige: I--I--I knew you probably just freaked out about me taking off so quickly, and... and then when I called to say that I wasn't coming back, well, of course then you flipped out. And that was all my fault.

JJ: No, Paige, listen.

Paige: I should have handled it better. And then, I probably caught you off guard by just showing up back in town and surprising you. But now thank God everything's back to normal, and we can be together like always.

JJ: Paige, you don't understand. We're not getting back together.

Paige: But you just said you wished you could take back what you said.

JJ: What I meant was--was that I was too harsh. And I shouldn't have blurted it out like that and walking away without explaining, that-- that wasn't right.

Paige: JJ, I don't understand. Why are you doing this?

JJ: I'm really sorry.

Paige: I don't want apologies. I want an explanation. Now.

Eric: Good, you're still here.

Nicole: Oh. You were looking for me? How did you know I was here?

Eric: I called your office.

Nicole: Oh, must be important.

Eric: It is. I wanna know what you were doing in Serena's hotel room.

Jordan: What am I going to do with that information? Hmm. You know, it doesn't come as a complete shock. It's not like I haven't been warned about you and warned and warned. And, I mean, almost from the beginning, I knew about your past with Abigail.

Chad: And now you know about Melanie.

Jordan: And that you made pretty much the same mistakes that you made with her.

Chad: All I can say is that I've tried to learn from those mistakes. That's why, since from the beginning, I have done my best not to pressure you into anything, and I still want you to feel that way. So whatever you decide, uh, I'll respect it.

Jordan: Let me ask you a question. If you were in my shoes, what would you do?

Chad: If I was in your shoes and I found out what you just found out about me, I would walk out that door, and I would never come back.

Jordan: Well, it's a good thing you're not in my shoes.

Maggie: Hey.

Brady: Hey, how'd it go with your friend?

Maggie: Um, she's better. She just needed someone to talk to.

Brady: My bet is, like me, she didn't want someone to talk to; she wanted you to talk to because you are the best.

Maggie: Oh, thank you. Maybe, I don't know. But we both know it's all up to her now.

Brady: M-Maggie? Um, hold on. Did, uh, did Melanie say anything to you about me?

Maggie: No, why?

Brady: I just got the weirdest vibe from her. It was as if she couldn't get away from me fast enough.

Maggie: [Scoffs] Well, that is ridiculous. She adores you! You know that.

Brady: I know, I feel the same way about her, but it was as if I did something to make her mad.

Maggie: Well, what did you do?

Brady: I asked her to go shopping.

Maggie: [Laughs] Okay, Brady. That is ridiculous. Why would that make her mad?

Brady: I don't know, that's just it. You're right, I'm--I'm probably just being paranoid.

Maggie: Yeah.

Eve: So you're friends with Abigail Deveraux. How nice for you both.

Melanie: Yeah, I am. I'm friends with her. And she filled me in on what you did to her family and my dad. I guess you got him mixed up in that too.

Eve: [Chuckles] Little girl, I can tell how much you're enjoying this smug, moral superiority regarding something you absolutely know nothing about, so I think it's actually time for you to, like, move on.

Melanie: Absolutely, no, that won't be a problem because, see, if you're anything like your sister, then I don't want anything to do with you.

Eve: [Chuckles] God, I hate this town.

Jennifer: Yeah, what did you want to talk about?

Daniel: Well, remember I promised to be completely up front with you from now on?

Jennifer: Yeah.

Daniel: Well, um, I told you Nicole and I are friends again, but now it seems like it might turn into something more. She and I are going out tonight on a date.

Jennifer: Yeah, um... I'm not surprised, and thank you. I appreciate you telling me that. And I'm--I'm happy, I really am, for both of you.

Daniel: Thank you. And I hope your 2015 is your best year ever.

Jennifer: Yeah, well, 2014 just set that bar so high so...

[Both laugh]

Daniel: Yeah.

Jennifer: No, Happy New Year!

Daniel: Okay.

Jennifer: This is great.

Daniel: All right.

Jennifer: Oh, don't wear that, um, that blue and purple tie.

Daniel: You said you liked it.

Jennifer: No, I lied. It's awful.

Maxine: [Sighs] Thank God you're still here. Dr. McGonigle just called in sick. Is there any way you can cover his shift tonight?

Daniel: Uh...

Nicole: I don't know what you heard, but...

Eric: I heard a lame excuse about you getting into Serena's room and writing a note.

Nicole: Who told you that?

Eric: Does it matter? Because we both know it's a lie. You went into her room, and you went through her things.

Nicole: I dropped off a gift.

Eric: I don't buy that for a second, because you could've had it delivered. You could've left it at the front desk. There was no reason for you to go into that room other than to dig through her things.

Nicole: Okay.

Eric: We both know you like to do that!

Nicole: There is a big difference between searching someone's name on the internet and breaking into a room.

Eric: Bravo, you are right! And you can land yourself in jail for breaking into a room.

Nicole: What, you're thinking about pressing charges?

Eric: That's not my call. It's Serena's.

Nicole: I didn't do anything wrong, and you can't prove--

Eric: Nicole, I'm not gonna say this again. I want you to stay out of my life. And Serena's.

Nicole: [Scoffs] Oh. I can't believe Melanie ratted me out, the little twit. I'm gonna kill her. Ugh. You know, Jennifer, if you keep frowning like that, you're gonna get wrinkles. Hmm, wait, even more wrinkles.

Jennifer: I don't have time for your snide remarks. I want to know what's going on between your daughter and my son.

Paige: JJ, talk to me. This isn't about how you feel about your dad, is it?

JJ: No.

Paige: Then is it because I thought I had to stay in California? Because I don't. My grandfather wasn't even really sick. It was just a misunderstanding. I'm back for good. You understand that, right? Then what is it? Do you just not love me anymore?

JJ: No, it's not that, Paige.

Paige: Then what is it?

JJ: I'm just not good enough for you.

Daniel: Maxine, I have plans for tonight, which I'll change if I have to, but, um... ooh, what about Dr. Wedret? She said she was coming in, she'd be willing to come in, right?

Maxine: I couldn't reach her.

Daniel: Okay, just try her again. If she says no, then I'll-- I'll stay.

Maxine: Okay, I'll try. But in the meantime, can you take a look at just one patient?

Daniel: Uh, sure, yeah, let's do it.

Serena: I--I just wanted you to know that I am actually going to be on time for the first time in my life, so you don't have to give me the extra 30 minutes that you usually do.

Eric: Okay, great.

Serena: Eric, something wrong?

Eric: No. Yes.

Serena: What is it?

Eric: Listen, I wanted to tell you in person, but I just found out. Nicole didn't have the flower delivered. She was actually in your room.

[Knock on door]

Melanie: My dad's not here.

Nicole: Yes, I know. He's at the hospital. I'm here for you, you backstabbing little snake.

Melanie: What?

Nicole: You promised me that you wouldn't tell anyone that I was in Serena's hotel room, but mm! You just couldn't help yourself, could you?

Chad: So tell me why you didn't just walk out the door.

Jordan: Because you didn't lie to me. You admitted everything, and you owned it. And you didn't make any excuses, and I admire that.

Chad: And you're not worried I'm gonna make the same mistakes with you?

Jordan: You know, you've been the polar opposite of needy and possessive of me.

Chad: Well, I am feeling very, very possessive right now.

Jordan: Oh, you know what? I think I can live with that.

[Both chuckle]

Jennifer: There is something going on, because JJ is a mess.

Eve: Well, if you got a problem, why don't you talk to JJ about it, Jennifer?

Jennifer: I did talk to him. And then I asked if somehow you were involved, and he just jumped... no, you know what? He didn't. He just completely shut down. So now I'm here asking you if you had anything to do with this breakup.

Eve: Hmm, I didn't have to lift a finger because your son knows how to screw things up all on his own. And, you know what, if you don't mind, just a moment. I'd like for you to get the hell out of my house.

Jennifer: I am telling you if you do anything to hurt my son, you are going to be really, really sorry.

Paige: Wait, wait, you're not good enough for me? What does that mean? W-we've talked about this. Just because your father did something before you even--

JJ: No, it has--it has nothing to do with my dad. It's about me and who I am and what I've done.

Paige: What does that mean?

JJ: I just told you. I'm not good enough for you. And once you hear what I have to say, you'll know why.

Eric: Serena? Serena, you still there?

Serena: Eric, I'm sorry. Someone's at the door. I should go. We'll talk about this later.

Eric: What a mess.
