Hope: Hey, Merry Christmas.
Kayla: Hey, you. Let me help you. Oh, my God, you're too much. You know what? I thought you already brought presents for the children.
Hope: I did, these are from Aiden.
Kayla: Oh, that's nice. Let me take that.
Hope: Yeah, um, I'll put it down.
Kayla: You know, I'm sorry that we didn't get a chance to finish that conversation after mass.
Hope: Yeah, you know, me too. I just--you know... why'd you seem so surprised when I told you I was still seeing Aiden? Why was that?
Aiden: And that goes right there.
Ciara: I told you.
Aiden: All right, now, take that outside and be careful.
Julie: Whoa! We come bearing sweet potatoes.
Jennifer: Oh, yum.
Julie: Yes, darling, that goes in the oven now.
Jennifer: Oh, I'll help you.
Julie: Thank you, sweetie.
Aiden: Dangerous in here.
Julie: Yes, indeed.
Julie: Last night I ran across some information online. It certainly piqued my curiosity about you.
Parker: What is this?
Parker: What is this?
Daniel: I think he likes it.
Maggie: Oh, and I think he needs four triple-a batteries.
Victor: Oh, when I was a kid, we used to play with rocks and sticks.
Daniel: Were batteries even invented? Melanie? Are you okay?
Brady: I got it, Henderson. Dad.
John: Merry Christmas, son.
Will: Where's the house?
Marlena: Could she be any more precious? I don't think so.
Chad: Yeah, I just wanted to call and wish you guys a Merry Christmas.
Sonny: Thanks, you too.
Chad: Any chance we'll be ringing in the new year at the new club?
Sonny: No, I'm aiming for mid-January.
Chad: Good. As long as things are coming along.
Sonny: They are.
Kate: So I talked to your dad this morning, and he said that he and your mom are taking the kids to big bear so they would have a white Christmas.
Will: Oh, nice.
Marlena: I know how much you miss them. We do too. But we are so glad you're here for the holidays.
Will: So am I.
Marlena: And this little one too is just... oh, dear.
Kate: What's wrong?
Marlena: She's warm. I'm afraid she might have a little fever.
Theresa: Merry Christmas.
Eve: Ho, ho, ho.
Theresa: So why'd you come back home? I thought you were gonna stay in California with Daddy.
Eve: Well, I was, but I've gone and ruined everything.
Paige: Merry Christmas, JJ!
Hope: I just don't understand. I told you that things were going great with Aiden. You said you were happy for us.
Kayla: Yeah, I know. It's just, uh--it's just my friend Lisa told me that--
Hope: Stop right there. Lisa's sister Bree called me to warn me about Aiden, and it's all gossip. None of it's true, Kay.
Kayla: I hope you're right.
Hope: Of course I am. I'm a detective. I have good instincts about people, and I've done my homework. You know that. I appreciate your concern. Thank you. Are you looking for a reason not to like Aiden?
Kayla: No, why would you say that?
Hope: This isn't about Aiden, is it? It's about Bo. It is about Bo, isn't it?
Aiden: Um, what did you see?
Julie: An article. It revealed a very different side of you. So I'm wondering what else you're not telling us.
Doug: So am I.
Melanie: I'm fine. I was just thinking how nice it is to be home with my family.
Maggie: [Chuckles] Well, I hate to unwrap and run, but we have to get to Jennifer's, uh, tree trimming... and then it's off to the hospital.
Melanie: Yes, that's right. Um, is, uh--is Brady--is he gonna be at the Horton's?
Victor: He better be.
Daniel: So can you say "thank you"? 'Cause--
Victor: That's all the thanks I need.
Maggie: [Laughs] Aw. Merry Christmas.
Melanie: Merry Christmas.
Daniel: Merry Christmas.
Maggie: Oh, so glad you're home.
Melanie: I'll see you soon.
Maggie: Bye, sweetheart.
Victor: Merry Christmas.
Melanie: Merry Christmas.
Maggie: You look beautiful.
Melanie: Oh, thank you.
Daniel: All right.
Daniel: Bye-bye. Take care. See ya. Okay, Melanie, what's really wrong? Did you and Brady have a fight?
Brady: I had no idea that you were even coming home.
John: Wrapped up our business last night, snagged a red-eye so I could surprise you. Hope this isn't a bad time?
Brady: Bad time? It's Christmas. No, Dad, I... that email I sent you, I meant every... every single word of it. I don't need any more space from you. I'm ready to move on with my life, and that means... I want you in it... all the time.
Theresa: Well, I hate to be a Debbie downer, but what did you expect, Eve? I mean, Paige is a smart girl. How long did you think she'd buy that Daddy was on his deathbed when he's out fighting criminals the next day like it's nothing?
Eve: I don't know what I was thinking.
Theresa: Well, hey, it's okay. You know, she'll forgive you eventually.
Eve: She already has.
Theresa: Okay, so why are you such a mess? Ooh, did something else happen?
JJ: Paige, what are you doing here? I thought you were staying in L.A.
Paige: Uh, well, it turns out my grandfather wasn't as sick as we thought he was. It was all some sort of, like, big misunderstanding. Um, believe it or not, I was just on my way to your house to surprise you, so... surprise! [Laughs] Here I am! What is it? These little angels build in softness.
Abe: [Chuckles] So what do you say to your uncle Chad, huh?
Theo: Thank you for my present.
Chad: Oh, you got it, buddy. I hope you like it.
Abe: Well, since he hasn't put it down since he got it, I think he likes it.
Chad: Listen, before you guys go to the Hortons', there is somebody who would really like to wish Theo a Merry Christmas, if it's okay with you.
Abe: Of course.
Stefano: Ah, Theodore. Merry Christmas.
Theo: Nonno! When are you coming home?
Abe: I don't have the heart to tell him he's not.
Chad: What, you don't think he'll ever beat those tax charges?
Abe: You know I never underestimate Stefano DiMera. No, I don't.
Chad: Well, we'll just have to find a way to manage without him.
Melanie: No, no, we're fine. He's--he's been great.
Daniel: Mm-hmm. Well, you asked if Brady was gonna be at the Hortons', and I just thought maybe you were trying to... avoid him.
Melanie: Oh. Yeah, maybe a little bit. I didn't--I didn't want him to say anything to you.
Daniel: About what?
Melanie: Anne Milbauer tried to keep me from getting rehired back at the hospital.
Daniel: I'm sorry. What?
Melanie: I know, I know, but it's okay, because Brady took care of it. He pulled the board-member card.
Daniel: Yeah, but why didn't you tell me?
Melanie: 'Cause I didn't want you to get involved. And you didn't, luckily. I'm really lucky Brady was there for me.
Daniel: Well, after the year Brady's had, I'd say that he's pretty lucky you were there for him.
John: Look, I know that we've had a couple rough years here.
Brady: Dad, Dad, Dad, listen, man, I'm sober--I'm sober, and Theresa's out of my life--
John: And I have realized that I need to let you lead your own life, and I will just trust your decisions.
Brady: Thank you. Thank you for saying that, but the fact is, Dad, I have made so many lousy decisions. And I'm probably gonna make a lot more. So, when I screw up, you'll still be there for me when I need you, right?
Brady: I'm so glad you're home... 'cause there's somebody else that you need to see... and I happen to know exactly where she is.
Will: Thank you. The nurse said that it's probably just a little virus that's going around, but we should keep her home, just in case she contagious.
Kate: What? Well, I mean, I have very important clients coming in next week from Japan. I can't afford to get sick.
Sonny: Will, we should probably call your aunt Jennifer and let her know we won't make it to the tree trimming.
Marlena: Oh, no, no, no. That's out of the question. Don't be silly, right, Kate?
Kate: Well, yeah. No, absolutely. I mean, Lucas and Allie aren't going to be there. Someone has to make sure Julie remembers to put their ornaments on the tree. I mean-- well, Marlena can stay and take care of the baby.
Will: What? No, we can't just--
Kate: No, of course you can. What else does she have to do?
[Cell phone ringing]
Kate: Oh. Sorry. Oh, it's a call--it's a call from Billie and Chelsea. They're in London. I have to take this.
Will: Grandma, I, um-- I cannot believe that she just said that.
Marlena: Of course you can believe it. Of course that's just Kate. And it's just fine. There's nobody with whom I would rather spend Christmas than this little angel.
Ciara: Don't trip, or you're dead meat.
Ciara: What? Our whole family history's in these boxes.
Jennifer: You are absolutely right. Be so careful.
Abigail: I know. Okay, okay, okay.
Jennifer: Oh, hi.
Maggie: Well, hello, Merry Christmas.
Jennifer: Oh, you look beautiful, aunt Maggie, oh, my goodness. Hi, Victor, Merry Christmas.
Maggie: Jennifer, I didn't get a chance to talk to you last night. Did you get a package that Lucas ordered?
Jennifer: Yes, I did.
Jennifer: I just wish that he could be here to see it.
Victor: What are you two up to now?
Aiden: I'm sorry. I'm afraid I don't know what you're talking about. Uh, would you like...
Julie: Last night I was searching on the internet for some information about-- I don't know--a resort on the great lakes, and I found this article that featured you, prominently... and I honestly can't say it-- it painted you in the most flattering light.
Aiden: I see.
Doug: What Julie means is that it depicted you as a shark... willing to do anything to win your client's case.
Aiden: Well... well, that is my job. And if you're referring to the Roxbury case, my client was innocent.
Doug: We admire you, Aiden, for taking a difficult stand to defend the truth. Bravo.
Julie: Sometimes it's good to be a shark.
Hope: Kay, I know this is hard, seeing me move on after Bo.
Kayla: No, no, that is not what this is about. Look, I told you when you first started seeing Aiden that I am completely supportive of you.
Hope: Okay, then.
Kayla: I'm just concerned.
Hope: You don't have to be. I'm fine. I'm happy. This is all very painful for Aiden, and I'd really appreciate it if you didn't bring it up again. Merry Christmas. I got to go.
Will: Merry Christmas!
Jennifer: I'm so glad you're here. Hi, how are you? It's so good to see you.
Julie: Hi. Where's the baby?
Will: She has a fever.
Both: Oh, no!
Will: Nothing serious--we just wanted to make sure no one else got sick.
Sonny: Yeah, Marlena's staying with her.
Jennifer: I know, but I'm sad she's gonna miss the Christmas party at the hospital.
Hope: Oh, sorry! I thought I was late!
Jennifer: What? As if we would trim the tree without you.
Hope: Aw, cuz.
Jennifer: Merry Christmas.
Maggie: Well, we better get started.
Abigail: Here, let me help you.
Jennifer: Oh, yeah, thank you, baby.
Abigail: Got two. Where's JJ?
Jennifer: Well, I sent him to the grocery store to pick up some things, but I don't know where he is.
Jennifer: I wonder what's keeping him.
Theresa: Maybe this will cheer you up a little.
Eve: Oh. Wow. Wow, wow, wow. This one must've been hard to find on vinyl.
Theresa: Oh, believe me, I know.
Eve: Oh. Thank you.
Eve: You're sweet.
Eve: Your present--it's being shipped from L.A.
Theresa: Come on, Eve, you don't have to pretend like you got me a gift. No, it's totally fine. You don't have to get me one. I mean, okay, it would've been nice, but... look, that's not why I came over... mostly. I'm really sorry that we're both having a sucky Christmas.
Eve: You and me both.
Theresa: Do you want to talk about it?
Theresa: Well, I just figure that Daddy's feeling better, and Paige is home, so... does this have something to do with that jerk JJ?
Paige: I didn't call because it was Christmas Eve and I knew you had plans with your family, so... aren't you going to say anything? Aren't you glad to see me?
JJ: Yeah, I-I mean, I just... I'm just really surprised that we're having this conversation right now, because... I-I thought you were gone for good, Paige.
Maggie: This year we're going to start with the newest addition to our family. My nephew Lucas made sure that we ordered this the day after his son... married the man of his dreams.
Sonny: [Clears throat]
Jennifer: Sonny... welcome to the Horton family. We could not be happier to have you here.
Maggie: There you go.
Maxine: Oh, boy, look what Santa brought me. [Laughs] I bet he was good to you too, huh?
Daniel: Yes, he was--to all of us.
Jennifer: Hi, there. Merry Christmas, Parker.
Daniel: Oh, Merry Christmas. Hope you're having a good one.
Jennifer: I am. You look like you're having a good one too.
Daniel: Oh, my goodness, yes. You know, I just want to say, I'm wishing you all good things in 2015.
Jennifer: Well, thank you. I wish you the same.
Maggie: [Gasps] My Santa Claus drank bad eggnog? Oh, no. What am I going to do?
Abe: [Chuckles] That's good.
Marlena: [High-pitched voice] But, no, Santa, I want to lead the sleigh tonight. My nose will light up in the dark. I can lead the team. [Normal voice] No, don't like that? [High-pitched voice] What if I wore my little tiara?
[Knock at door]
Marlena: That would be nice-- [Normal voice] Really? It's too early for Santa. Stay right there. Stay right there.
John: [Exhales deeply]
John: Merry Christmas, Doc.
Eve: Theresa, of course, this is all about JJ. I've done absolutely everything I possibly can to keep that boy away from my daughter.
Theresa: Yeah, and everything you've done has failed.
Eve: [Sighs] Well, thank you so much. You just know exactly the right thing to say, don't you, dear?
Theresa: Do you think that she's with him now, hanging those big, old, ancient ornaments on their ugly Horton tree?
Eve: I don't know. She did say that she wanted to talk to JJ today.
Theresa: Eve... I think it's time that you admit that she's gonna be with JJ whether you like it or not.
Eve: I'm not so sure about that.
Paige: I'm sorry, JJ. When I said I wasn't coming back, I was... confused. But when I realized my grandfather was going to be okay, I-I couldn't wait to get back to you. And also, I, uh--I told my mom that we're going to be together and there's nothing she can do to stop us.
JJ: You told her that?
Paige: It's okay. I promise.
JJ: I can't take that. Sebastian is learning his "time" tables.
Maggie: Even our substitute Santa brought his own elf.
Maggie: I think he might find himself a permanent gig.
Abe: Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas! Are you ready?
Abe: Are you ready...
Abe: To hear the greatest story ever told?
Abigail: Hi, kids, Merry Christmas! My name is Abigail Deveraux, and I work here now. But a long time ago, I was one of you. My great-grandpa used to read this story every year at Christmas, and I never, ever got tired of hearing it. You know why? Because it is so much more than just a story. You ready?
Abigail: "And it came to pass, in those days, that there went out a decree..."
Chad: Mm-hmm, yes, I wish you were here, too, father. I trust you found a way to make your yuletide bright.
Stefano: Ha, ha, indeed. I spoke to your sister.
Chad: How is Kristen?
Stefano: Oh, no, she's quite well. And then I had a lovely meal with Simone. And of course, we exchanged gifts.
Chad: The--oh, I'm glad you're not alone.
Kate: God knows he can always pay for company.
Stefano: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, was that Katerina?
Kate: [Mouthing] No.
Chad: Here she is.
Stefano: Buon Natale, Katerina!
Theresa: Look, Eve, we both know that JJ is completely wrong for Paige, but she's gotta figure that out on her own. And until she does, you cannot say otherwise or she is gonna resent the hell out of you.
Eve: You sound exactly like Kimberly, right now, you know that, right?
Theresa: I'm just saying, JJ will do the dirty work for you. Okay? And in the end, you and Paige are going to be just fine.
Eve: Well, I hope you're right.
Theresa: I am.
Eve: So, what can I do for you? Can I dispense any, um, advice that would make your Christmas just a little bit brighter? Hmm?
Theresa: Uh, thanks, but I think I can take care of it on my own.
Paige: What do you mean, you can't take it? It's nothing big, it's only a little something I picked up.
JJ: It doesn't matter, I just can't.
Paige: Why not?
JJ: All right, look, I'm really sorry but I need to get home because my family's waiting for me.
Paige: Oh, okay, well then maybe later I could stop by and...
JJ: No, I can't see you, Paige.
Paige: I don't understand.
JJ: I didn't think you were coming back and I... I don't have anything for you.
Paige: Oh, you didn't get me a gift? I-I don't care, here.
JJ: No, Paige-- we're done. We are done.
Victor: You know, last year when I thought I was going to lose Maggie, made me realize what it meant to me to be a part of all this. And I knew that I never wanted to do anything to jeopardize my place in her world again. I'm sure now that will's back where he belongs--you know exactly what I mean.
Julie: Oh, we've lost so many. Wonderful memories here. Some not so wonderful. This time last year, I was thinking about Nick so much. Where was he, what was he doing? I know he had a lot of issues. I wish to God he'd had the time to work them all out. If only it hadn't been for-- for Gabi.
Aiden: Oh, I'm sorry, the mistletoe is right over there. Maybe I should take you this way.
Hope: Well, I will kiss you wherever and whenever I want, thank you very much.
Aiden: Thank you.
Hope: I thought this Christmas was going to be incredibly hard. But in fact, it's actually been incredibly, amazingly wonderful.
Abigail: "And Mary brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in the manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. And there were in the same country, shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock at night. And lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were sore afraid."
Joey: Why were they so afraid?
Abigail: Well, Joey, if an angel came down, right out of the sky, right in front of you, how would you feel?
Abigail: But, that's not the end of the story. "And the angel said unto them, 'fear not, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which should be to all people. For unto you, is born this day, in the city of David, a savior which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you: Ye shall find the babe...'"
Melanie: She's doing great.
Maggie: I'm just glad to have both of you back here at the hospital where you belong.
Abigail: "There was with the angel a multitude of heavenly host praising God, saying: 'Glory to God in the highest, and on earth, peace, good will toward men.'"
Abe: Ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho. Very good. Very good. [Chuckling]
All: Silent night holy night all is calm all is bright round yon virgin, mother and child
Marlena: Come in. I don't believe this.
Marlena: What are you doing here?
John: Well, Brady told me exactly where I could find you.
Marlena: Oh, are you-- are you in town for the holiday?
John: No, I'm home for good. I know that we have a lot to talk about, but this time I can promise you that I'm--I'm gonna stick around. This is--this is where I belong.
Marlena: I just can't tell you how happy that makes me. And your timing is especially good, I really could use some help right now.
Stefano: Ah, my poor Katerina. How sad that you are spending Christmas alone this year, huh? Not a single one of your children in Salem.
Kate: I don't know where you get your information, Stefano. Yes, my children are away, but I am, in no way, alone.
Stefano: Ah, are you and the--what's, um, what's his name? Billy bob?
Kate: Clyde--his name is Clyde. Buon Natale, Stefano. Be sure to check your blood sugar because you might need an extra shot of insulin after overindulging with Simone and figgie pudding.
Chad: That was a bit cruel, don't you think?
Kate: Ah, was it? Well, I am out of here.
Chad: What, to see Clyde?
Marlena: Are you going to see Tammy sue?
Chad: Later, she's working today.
Marlena: Oh, of course, she is. That girl knows how to have fun, doesn't she? What's the game?
Chad: Excuse me?
Marlena: Well I cannot believe you are really interested in that timid, little mouse.
Chad: She's gorgeous, and she's funny, and--
Chad: Okay, just because you don't like her-- I mean, what makes you think there's a game, anyway?
Marlena: Because I have known the DiMeras longer than you have been one, far longer my dear, and there is always a game. Buon Natale, Chad.
Julie: Look who's here, look who's here.
Daniel: Ooh, look at all the people, it's a family.
Daniel: Speaking of which...
Abigail: Hey, thanks for coming to the house.
Daniel: Yeah, well, your mother insisted.
Abigail: Can I have a hug? Yes.
Jennifer: Of course I insisted, because you are part of the family, and I want you to know that you are always welcome here. I mean that.
Abe: Here we go, yes. Well, Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas.
Theo: I got to be an elf.
Chase: Cool. Wow.
Ciara: You know, that's a nice part, Theo, but I got to be Cinderella's evil stepsister. And I killed it.
Kayla: Thank you, both, for having us, really. Really, thank you.
Aiden: Can I get you something to drink?
Kayla: No--no, I'm good.
Hope: Merry Christmas, Kayla.
Kayla: Merry Christmas.
Hope: Love you.
Brady: Get off your phone. You having a Merry Christmas?
Ciara: Come on, we need a monster--come on.
Brady: Wha--what? A monster?
Melanie: Well, go.
Brady: For what?
Ciara: For a game, you're it, let's go.
Brady: I gotta go be a monster--Christmas game.
Paige: I don't understand. What--what do you mean, we're done? We-- we're done. That's all.
Paige: But why?
JJ: I'm really sorry, but I have to go. Goodbye.
Paige: No, JJ, JJ, wait, JJ!
Paige: Uh, hi.
Eve: Honey, did you see JJ?
Paige: Just for a minute, but he had to get home.
Eve: Oh, well, was he supposed to see you?
Paige: Mom, can we talk about this tomorrow, I have a really terrible headache.
Eve: Okay honey, wait--is there anything I can do for you, honey?
Paige: No. Merry Christmas.
Eve: Merry Christmas to you too, baby.
Aiden: Ah, what a classic. Right there.
Hope: You can say that again.
Maggie: Could I have everyone's attention? Another year's gone by. Another Christmas at the Hortons'. Tom and Alice would be so proud of us for carrying on their traditions of welcoming friends and family, old and new. It's been an exciting year. A lot of changes. A year of love. And loss. But the things that are the most important, they never change. Faith, hope, family.
Doug: Hear, hear!
Maggie: You bet, Doug. The family tree, it just keeps growing. It's been a year of forming new connections... and rekindling old ones. No matter the challenges that we faced, we always know there's one thing that's constant, we're still family. Related by blood, or not, near or far, you will always have this house as your safe haven and the family that tom and Alice love so dearly, as your own, all the days of your lives. Merry Christmas, everybody!
All: Merry Christmas!
Daniel: Ah, that was wonderful, Mom, that was so good.
