Hope: Bree, I don't understand. Why would you say that?
Bree: Hope, listen to me. I know we don't know each other very well, but, please, trust me on this. Even being near Aiden Jennings is a mistake. Get away from him, now.
Melanie: High five, yeah.
Maggie: Okay, well, you know those cookies we've been smelling for 20 minutes-- they're officially done. Who wants one?
Maggie: Oh, good. I'm so glad you said that. I just love to have a partner when I eat my cookies. Come on over here. All right.
Daniel: Ooh, well, that's quite a sight, watching you decorate the tree with your little brother.
Melanie: I'm so glad I'm home, and that he's here and that you guys are here and I'm staying.
Daniel: Yeah. I'm glad too. It's been terrific.
Melanie: Yeah, I know, the casino thing.
Daniel: Yeah, not to mention the little run-in with Theresa at the hospital. No, sweetheart, it is so wonderful to have you home... assuming you've learned your lessons.
Melanie: I have. I promise, yep. I'm going to be good. I'm going to be mature. I actually, um--I turned, uh-- I turned my application in to the hospital, so I'm ready to get back to work.
Theresa: Is that an application?
Anne: Yep, sitting on my desk when I walked in this morning. I almost lost my breakfast. But, you know, what the hell? She's a Jonas, and that makes her entitled, of course.
Theresa: Anne, are you sure that you can stop this from happening? 'Cause I swear to God, if I have to see Melanie Jonas on a regular basis, I'll stop working here--I will.
Anne: How will I know the difference?
Anne: Worry not, fair maiden, Melanie will not get her old job back, and you and I may even get a little bonus.
Theresa: Oh, yeah? What's that?
Anne: Well, I'm thinking we could do a little damage to her dear old dad.
Serena: I knew I had to see you, because, Eric, I... I never stopped caring about you... not for one minute. And I never will.
[Knock at door]
Eric: Coming. Hi, mom.
Marlena: Hi, yourself. Your text says you had some news.
Marlena: News, huh? Hmm.
Serena: Dr. Kayla Brady?
Kayla: I'm sorry. Do I know you?
Serena: Oh, uh, yes, we've met. But it was several years ago. I'm--I'm Serena mason, Eric Brady's friend. We met when we were all in new York that-- that one spring. You were there with family. I was just along for the ride.
Kayla: Oh, right, right. I remember now. You guys flew in from Africa.
Serena: Yes, that's right.
Kayla: Yeah, so, uh, what are you doing here? Are you here to see Eric?
Nicole: That woman looks familiar. Where do I know her from?
Hope: Bree, look, I'm not sure where this is coming from. But something--
Bree: Hope, I was best friends with Aiden's wife, and if you don't listen to me, you're going to end up exactly the way Meredith did-- dead.
Nicole: Who the heck is that?
Nicole: Yeah, oh, hey, Brady.
Nicole: You see that woman in there, do you know who that--
Brady: No, I don't-- I don't know who she is. Listen, you are beautiful. You are smart. You are awesome. And I-I need your help. Can you give me a couple minutes?
Nicole: Yeah, you got a lifetime if you keep talking to me like that.
Brady: Come on, I'll buy you lunch, okay?
Nicole: Mm-hmm, yeah.
Brady: Nicole, come on.
Nicole: Oh, I--
Serena: So, Eric's supposed to be meeting me here any minute. For once in my life, I'm actually early.
Kayla: [Chuckles] I understand that.
[Cell phone ringing]
Serena: Ugh, sorry.
Kayla: Oh, listen, no problem. We'll catch up another time.
Serena: Okay, great.
Kayla: Good to see you.
Serena: You too. Serena mason. Excuse me? No, I think you-- that is totally unacceptable.
Melanie: I'm actually going to go to the hospital right now and, uh, say hi to all my homies and, um...
Daniel: There you go.
Melanie: Share some stories, check out how my application is doing.
Daniel: Good. You go for it, and remember to stay away from...
Both: Theresa Donovan.
Maggie: And I second that motion. Theresa finds a way to cause trouble for anyone she's around. She hurt your dad and Jennifer, both of her children, well, you name it. So don't wind up on her radar, please.
Melanie: That might be a little hard after yesterday.
Theresa: Okay, so what's the deal? How are we going to stick it to Danny boy?
Anne: Oh, no, no, no. You're going to have to watch and wait...
Anne: 'Cause I don't want anything getting out until it's time, but trust me, when Melanie does show her face, surprise.
Theresa: [Chuckles] God, I hope. You know, she is just as bad as--no, actually, I think that she's worse than Daniel Jonas, because at least he's a doctor.
Theresa: I mean, she's nobody. I mean, that bitch, the way she walks around. She thinks she's so great. She's like, "I'm Melanie Jonas, and you're not." Big freakin' deal.
Jennifer: Here are your files that I borrowed.
Anne: Oh, you didn't borrow them. You demanded them.
Jennifer: Okay. Then I guess these are the files that I demanded. They're all yours.
Anne: Thank you.
Jennifer: You're welcome. And I heard you complaining about Melanie, who you've known for what--30 seconds?
Theresa: Uh, well, yeah, that was long enough for me. And by the way, I wasn't complaining, I was just stating the facts.
Jennifer: You know, it is amazing to me how easily you make enemies. But if I were you, I would put a cork in that anger.
Theresa: Oh, yeah? Thank you so much, jenny.
Jennifer: You're so welcome, because Melanie is going to be working here... very soon.
Anne: I have two words to say about that-- nev... er.
Bree: Hope? Hope, you still there?
Hope: Aiden, um...
Aiden: I don't want to interrupt you--I just want to let you know that I'm finished shopping, that's all. Okay.
Bree: Oh, my God. Is Aiden there now? I'll call you back.
Hope: My, um, my call-- it, uh, it dropped. I lost it. It--it's fine. It's okay.
Aiden: You want to call back?
Hope: Uh, no, no, uh, it--it can wait, for sure.
Aiden: Are you sure?
Aiden: It seemed like a pretty intense conversation. Who called?
Hope: No one important... not important enough to keep us from heading over to the Salem inn, that is. That's the plan, right?
Aiden: That is the plan.
Hope: Okay, so let's, uh, focus and concentrate on our near future, Mr. Jennings.
Aiden: One more thing first.
Aiden: Why are you lying?
Melanie: Hey, bud. All right, man, I got to get going. I know your mom's gonna come pick you up, but we're gonna hang out on Christmastime, right? Yeah?
Melanie: Okay, now, I need you to do me a big favor, okay? I need you to put my presents under the tree for me, and... this one is for you. But no peeking. Promise? Okay, all right. Go put 'em under the tree.
Maggie: My goodness, Melanie. You just got back here. I'm just so surprised that you had time to do all this Christmas shopping.
Melanie: Well, I am full of surprises.
Marlena: [Shivers] You know, I don't know why you're--oh, look-- so mysterious. Oh, just tell me what's going on here.
Eric: Relax, mom. All good things come to those who wait.
Eric: She's not here yet?
Kayla: Uh, she was here.
Kayla: She was waiting for you.
Eric: I see.
Kayla: She got a phone call, and, uh, she just left a few minutes ago.
Marlena: And who, uh-- who is she?
Kayla: Does Serena mason ring a bell?
Serena: Excuse me? Could you tell me where Anne milbauer's office is?
Jennifer: Well, that is Anne Milbauer right there... in yet another wrap dress.
Anne: I mean, have you ever seen two cats do that? Those have to be fake paws.
Serena: Excuse me, ms. Milbauer. I'm Serena mason. Someone from your office called me just now to say that I was assigned an office in the hospital basement.
Serena: So I'm afraid that's not going to be acceptable.
Anne: Oh, oh, what? Because you're allergic to basements? I'm so sorry. That's all I have available.
Serena: No, I'm sorry, but my--
Anne: Because you see, if someone had bothered to consult with me before just hiring you out of the blue, then perhaps I could have done something, but they didn't. So, you see, I'm not able to help out.
Serena: Oh, gosh. I'm sorry they never told you.
Anne: Me too.
Serena: And now your ego's bruised. My deepest sympathies. Believe me, I understand. Who likes to be left out of the loop? And my guess is, with your attitude, this happens a lot. But putting that aside for now, I think it's time you remedy my office situation...
Serena: Today, ms. Milbauer.
Aiden: That phone call obviously upset you. Why lie about it?
Hope: Okay, I lied. I shouldn't have. I-I... the call was about you.
Aiden: And it upset you that much?
Hope: I'm not upset. I'm fine. I was surprised.
Aiden: Who called?
Hope: [Sighs] Look, it's probably not even worth discussing. But if that's what you want to do, let's not do it here.
Aiden: Okay. The Salem inn?
[Cell phone ringing]
Aiden: Shoot. I have to drop something off at the courthouse, but I'll meet you there?
Hope: I'll see you there.
Aiden: Okay. I--wait a minute. Should I be worried about something?
Maggie: I saw the look that Melanie gave you before she left.
Maggie: What's with all those--those gifts?
Daniel: Well, before Mel showed up, she asked if I'd do her a favor.
Maggie: Buy her Christmas presents for her?
Daniel: Yeah, yeah, I mean, it all makes sense. She--she was in England, and, you know, why have her guess what people might want? And then you have to ship everything over here, it's--
Maggie: Daniel, I hope at least she sent you a list of what things to buy. Oh, no.
Daniel: Oh, yes.
Maggie: Honestly, that girl. So--so what does this mean? You--you had to buy your own gift?
Daniel: Yeah, yeah, I did.
Daniel: I'll survive. Oh.
Maggie: Oh, my.
Daniel: But after yesterday, I don't know if I can take any more surprises from your sister.
Daniel: Oh. Mm.
Marlena: Thank you, and--and, you know, I do-- I do remember Serena. She was a very sweet girl-- I mean, woman. So sorry. And she was smart too, as I recall. We met--we met in central park when we were there. And that's when you and Sami got into it about which museum we should visit.
Eric: We didn't get into it.
Marlena: You got into it. You got into it. And Serena was the one who mentioned that the museum of natural history had dinosaurs.
Eric: Which ended the argument--I remember that.
Marlena: Mm-hmm, yeah. I didn't know that you two were in touch.
Eric: Email mostly. I hadn't seen her till yesterday.
Marlena: Oh, okay. And so?
Marlena: So, I don't know. What is she doing here?
Anne: Look, honey, if you want to give orders, you can talk to, say, that wall. I make decisions. I decide who gets an office, and I decide where that office is going to be. So take it or leave it. It's no skin off my nose or any other part of my amazing body.
Serena: It's a shame you weren't informed, 'cause it would have saved us both some time and you some embarrassment.
Anne: What the hell are you talking about? Why would I be embarrassed?
Serena: The organization that's funding my research...
Serena: Had everything in writing before the project was approved. They're making a large financial contribution to university hospital.
Serena: But it comes with certain stipulations.
Anne: Okay. Nice try. Still ain't gonna get you out my basement.
Serena: For instance...
Serena: It says right here that my office shall be on this floor, right down the hall from the research library, because I'll be going in and out so much.
Anne: Now, this contract can say anything it wants. Yet again, I make decisions.
Serena: Wow. Oh, okay, I guess you're in charge.
Anne: Finally. Thank you, right?
Serena: Just so you know...
Serena: Please don't worry. When I have lunch tomorrow with Seth burns, the hospital administrator, I'll be sure to explain to him why the contribution is being withdrawn. Also, I'll speak to Dr. Kayla Brady, who happens to be a really good friend of mine, and I will make sure I point out to both of them that you were just doing your job. So no hard feelings. Thanks for your time.
Anne: Oh, wait, wait. I just remembered. There is actually an empty office on this floor. Why didn't you remind me? What kind of an assistant are you, anyway? That guy, down the hall-- the guy, he moved last week, and she can just go right into there.
Serena: So my office is going to be on this floor. Wonderful. I'm so glad that it's all taken care of,
Anne: Yes, well, like you said, I'm just doing my job.
Serena: Why don't you run and get me my office key before I leave?
Anne: Of course.
Theresa: I hope you handle that other redheaded bitch a little better than that.
Theresa: Don't worry. This one threw me for a loop, and I am going to be fine with little miss Melanie, okay.
Jennifer: Oh, boy. It is going to be fun with you working here.
Nicole: So what's the company's name?
Brady: They're a high-tech firm, but here's the deal. There's another company that wants to buy it as badly as we do. And the word on the street is the CEO is going to use my drug and alcohol use as a way to get an edge on the bidding.
Nicole: Yeah, and they'll make you look unstable, unreliable, impulsive, yada, yada, yada.
Brady: So I've... [Clears throat] Decided that I'm going to play just as dirty.
Nicole: Mm. Which is why I get a free lunch.
Brady: You are so smart. Here's the thing, though. You've already investigated this CEO before. You just never put it on air.
Nicole: What's his name?
Brady: A.K. Whitmore.
Nicole: Oh. That little sleaze from new jersey, yeah.
Nicole: I did--I had a lot of stuff on him. I-I ended up dropping the piece, though. He's not just a thief. He's boring.
Brady: Oh, yeah.
Brady: So you think you could, uh, make a call... maybe find a way to give him notice? Let him know of he slimes me, he's going to get it back in spades, something like that? Look, I-- Nicole, I wouldn't ask you if I wasn't in a tough spot. And I know it's sketchy, but I just thought it would--
Nicole: All right, all right. Relax, Brady. Sketchy is my middle name. I'm on it.
[Cell phone ringing]
Aiden: So what are we going to do when school breaks for Christmas and new year's, hmm? No more free afternoons for us.
Hope: I guess we'll have to get inventive.
Aiden: We will have to get inventive.
Aiden: But before we get carried away, what's the deal with that phone call, hmm? You said it was about me. Obviously it upset you.
Hope: No, I... as I said, I am fine. I was just surprised. That's all. The call was from Bree Tjaden... out in Portland.
Aiden: [Scoffs] What did she want?
Hope: She heard that you and I were dating, that's all, and... she said I was making a major mistake. My budget used to be a real downer.
Eric: Serena is working on some kind of medical research for an article, so she's going to be working out of the hospital for... maybe a year.
Marlena: Hmm. So, of all the gin joints all over the world, she's doing research in the little town where you live.
Brady: Mom, please don't go there.
Marlena: I'm only going to a place that seems fairly obvious. You two were very close at one point.
Eric: It was years ago.
Marlena: Not so many years ago. You know, if you hadn't gone into the priesthood, I always thought maybe you would... propose to her.
Eric: Based on one trip to new York?
Marlena: No. Based on the fact that every time you looked at her, you had this kind of silly, little grin on your face. The same little grin you have now when you keep talking about her.
Marlena: Nothing. Nothing. Just after the year you've had, anything that puts a smile on your face makes me so happy.
Nicole: Yeah, keep bringing up his offshore accounts. Oh, and throw in I know what porn sites he downloads from too. That ought to get his heart going pitter pat. Yeah, thanks, harry. I owe you. Done deal. Mr. A.K. Whitmore is going to be on notice.
Brady: I knew-- [Snaps fingers] I knew I was coming to the right person.
Nicole: Yes, yes, I am the right person. But when it comes to people I love, whatever it takes.
Jennifer: Hi. I'm Jennifer Horton.
Serena: Serena mason.
Jennifer: Nice to meet you.
Serena: Nice to meet you too.
Jennifer: Welcome to university hospital.
Serena: Thank you.
Jennifer: I have to tell you, I love the way you just handled Anne Milbauer.
Jennifer: I mean, my first day here, she tried the same tactic.
Serena: Seems the type-- power issues.
Jennifer: Yeah. I just hope you think that everyone that works here is not like her.
Serena: Oh, no, not at all. I know a few people who work here--well, worked here.
Jennifer: Really? Who?
Serena: Do you know Eric Brady?
Jennifer: Eric Brady, yes. He's a really good friend of mine.
Jennifer: How do you know him?
Serena: Oh, well, we go way--
[Cell phone vibrating]
Serena: [Gasps] No, oh, God. Ugh. Sorry. I-I'm supposed to be meeting--I'm always late.
Jennifer: Oh, yeah. [Chuckles]
Serena: Could you tell that...
Serena: Crazy, yeah...
Serena: Woman that I'll just come and get my key later.
Jennifer: Absolutely, of course.
Serena: Nice meeting you.
Jennifer: Nice to meet you.
Aiden: Did, uh, Bree say anything else?
Hope: It was a short call. She made it pretty clear, though, that she doesn't like you.
Aiden: Hope, this woman hates me. This is a woman who did everything she could to try to get me blamed for Meredith's death. I mean, one of the reasons I left Portland as fast as I did is so she couldn't feed her lies to chase. I mean... I'm sorry. It's just this woman-- she has no right to push her way into my life, and I just--
Hope: Understood. Did she ever say why she was so against you, Aiden?
Aiden: [Scoffs] Meredith and Bree were close friends, and Meredith-- she confided a lot of things about our marriage problems, you know, the--the quarrels, the suspicions. Meredith forever going on about the... you know, no, forget it. I-I'm not going to go there, okay, but you ca-- you can imagine, all right? You got Meredith putting her spin on things, so I'm always the bad guy. I'm the monster.
Hope: Sounds like she blamed you for Meredith being unhappy.
Aiden: She did. She did, but I-I mean, I admit that it's partly true. Look, Meredith was unhappy with me. I was unhappy with her.
Hope: Did you try to explain any of that to her?
Aiden: Hope, it would have been pointless, are you kidding me? After Meredith... died... Bree was sure of only one thing, that if she was that unstable, then it had to be my fault.
Hope: But why?
Aiden: I-I don't know. Maybe because I didn't force Meredith to get the help she needed. I-I-I don't know. And Bree... this woman walks up to me at the funeral, and you know what she said to me? She said, "I wish you were the one who took that bullet."
Hope: Oh, my God.
Aiden: Now here she is again. I can't believe--here she is again trying to stir up trouble. Worst part of it... you believe her.
Nicole: I'm so sad I missed Chloe and Parker. I wanted to give Parker his Christmas gifts.
Daniel: Well, he'll be home for Christmas. Just leave those under the tree, and--and, uh, I'll tell him they came from you.
Nicole: Mm-hmm. All right. Listen, um, I'm sorry that I didn't get Melanie a gift. You know, I didn't know she was coming back into town, and, you know, things are better between us, but we're not exactly besties.
Daniel: Ah, no worries. She won't be hurt.
Nicole: Yeah, she probably won't even notice.
Nicole: Whoa. Hang--aw.
Nicole: Man. Looks like Melanie and I both got your present gift-wrapped at Baron's. I wonder what she got you.
Daniel: Oh, it's just a scarf.
Jennifer: Oh, my goodness, it feels so good to hug you. Oh, your dad must be thrilled to pieces to have you home.
Melanie: Yeah, he... it... I'm so sorry that it--
Jennifer: No. You know what? I don't want you to worry about that. Your dad and I are going to be fine. We are. And--and we're going to make sure that it stays that way too.
Melanie: Good. Well, the place hasn't really changed a whole lot, so it'll be just like old times.
Jennifer: Yes. You and I and Abby--we're all going to be here working together, and...
Melanie: I know.
Jennifer: It's going to be fun. Sounds like a plan, huh?
Melanie: It'll be awesome.
Brady: Oh, my God. This hospital's in trouble.
Marlena: Ooh, ooh, ooh. It is so good to see you.
Serena: And you. You tell me the truth, okay? Do you have a special painting hidden up in your attic?
Marlena: [Chuckles] Oh, I want to hear all about your work up at the hospital, your research. If I can help in any way at all--
[Cell phone ringing]
Marlena: Oh, I'm so sorry. Oh, dear, I'm needed at the hospital--an emergency patient. Um, I'm so sorry. Look, uh, when you get there, just, uh, find me. I'll give you the tour, the ins and outs of the hospital.
Serena: Great. It's a deal.
Marlena: Great. It's a deal.
Eric: Bye, mom.
Marlena: Bye, honey.
Serena: [Chuckles] Seeing your mom and your aunt-- it's been a really nice morning.
Serena: Can we go somewhere a little more private?
Eric: Sure. We, uh--we definitely need to talk.
Eric: You want to go back to the park or down by the river?
Serena: Don't take this the wrong way, but can we go to your place?
Hope: You told me your side of the story. It's you that I believe. I don't believe Bree.
Aiden: Come on, hope. I mean, don't tell me you haven't had your doubts. Every time Meredith's death has come up, you're suspicious. You never quite say it, but you--you get that look. You do, I mean, from--from the headline that you had on the internet, all the questions about my wife's money, the fact that I didn't have a dime before I got married. I mean, we have all these things piling up for you. Don't we? I mean, and now we got my--my wife's best friend, who's...
Aiden: Vindictive beyond belief, calling you out of the blue or maybe--I don't know.
Hope: Aiden, stop, stop.
Aiden: Maybe you called her? Is that what happened?
Hope: Just stop, okay? 'Cause I have tried from the beginning, always, to respect your privacy. Things keep coming up. I have to ask. I have to.
Aiden: I know. I know you do, and it--it's like you're always trying to catch me in a lie--
Hope: I have never accused you of lying.
Aiden: No, but it's what you're thinking, hope. It's what you're thinking. And I-I'm tired--I'm tired of trying to have to explain myself or prove myself to you. And now I'm starting to wonder if you really know me at all.
Serena: I was with you when you bought this in Kolwezi.
Eric: That's right. I remember.
Serena: A lot of memories. We were interrupted last night. You were going to tell me why you decided not to go back to the priesthood, even though your name has been cleared.
Eric: That's a long story.
Serena: We've got time.
Eric: Well, I-I guess I realized... that I lost my calling.
Serena: You were so devoted to the church. What could have possibly changed all that?
Nicole: I got you a scarf too.
Daniel: Yeah, I know, I know, but a guy can have two scarves, right?
Nicole: Are you sure that's what she got you?
Daniel: Um... yeah. Yeah, so here--here's--here's the thing. Melanie was away, so she asked if I could do her Christmas shopping for her, so...
Nicole: You bought your own present?
Daniel: Yeah, I did.
Nicole: So you bought the exact scarf you wanted?
Daniel: Look, it's just a scarf.
Nicole: No, it's not just a scarf. It's a perfect scarf, and I can't compete with that. And what's worse is, what if I got you the same scarf? I'm taking it back.
Daniel: No, no, no, look, it's fine.
Nicole: No, it's not.
Daniel: No, man cannot live by one scarf alone. It is fine. I got this. Wow. You--you don't have to return this, because, see, I-I have the perfect solution.
Eric: I'd rather not get into that. Bottom line--I couldn't go back to being a priest.
Serena: [Chuckles] I think I just got the answer I was looking for.
Eric: I'm sorry?
Serena: Well, it's just I-- I wanted to make you sure you didn't have... other commitments... before I asked you out to dinner. You know how much I hate rejection.
Eric: Serena, are you-- are you asking me out on a date?
Serena: Only if the answer's yes.
Brady: So when do you start working, nurse Melanie?
Melanie: Well, hopefully soon, once my application is approved. You know, I have to do the chest x-ray and the-- the blood work, but then watch out--she's got a needle.
Jennifer: Hey, what's wrong-- what happened here? What is that?
Brady: Oh, um, nothing. I-- silly--I ran into something. It's fine.
Jennifer: So crazy.
Jennifer: Oh, my goodness. All right, um, I need to head over to the printer. Please let me know if you need anything, if there's anything I can do, sweetie.
Melanie: Thank you.
Melanie: Thank you.
Jennifer: Bye, Brady.
Brady: Bye, Jen.
Melanie: Oh, I felt so bad when she just brought that up. Are you okay?
Brady: Yeah, I'm f-- absolutely. I'm good.
Melanie: Okay, because if anything ever happened to you, I would hate myself.
Brady: Stop. Come here. It's okay.
Hope: I do know you. You're a good man, and you're a great father to chase. I'll admit, I have had some doubts... once in a while. This stuff with Bree-- it just--it caught me off guard. Aiden, you can't blame me for asking questions about your past when things like this keep coming up. I have to ask.
Aiden: Do I ask you about Bo? Do I ask you where he went? Why? No. No, I don't... because clearly you don't want to talk about it, and, hope, I'm okay with that. I mean, obviously it's a painful subject for you. But I trust that you would tell me anything you thought I need to know. I only wish the... same would apply to me when it comes to my life.
Hope: Let's make a pact... no more talking about Meredith today.
Aiden: That's a great idea. [Chuckles] Until the next time something comes up that you think I'm hiding from you. And I just... can't deal with it anymore, hope. I-I-I can't. I won't.
Serena: Oh, boy.
Serena: Well, I just realized that... even if you never go back to the priesthood that that-- that doesn't mean that you're not in some kind of committed relationship. If that's a problem, seriously, it's--it's okay, and even then, it's not like you may not still have feelings for me, and it's been a long time, and that's okay. Feel free to say no.
Eric: There's no one else.
Serena: What about your feelings for me?
Daniel: I'll tell you what I'm gonna do.
Nicole: Oh, my--
Daniel: Okay, I am gonna open your gift now. Come Christmas morning, there'll be no competition. Whoa.
Nicole: And what if it is the same scarf?
Daniel: Oh, I will take my chances. Oh, my gosh. Thank you very much. And you know what? Thi--this is actually-- this is different. You're in luck.
Nicole: No, you're going to like the other one better.
Daniel: No. No, no, no. I--you know, I almost, uh, chose this one--
Nicole: [Scoffs] Please.
Daniel: But I couldn't make up my mind. I was, like, "oh, my God, I don't know what to do." So, you know, your gift-- your gift was just the per-- oh, my God, it was perfect.
Nicole: Okay, you are so totally lying right now.
Daniel: Oh, no way, I'm not. This is so good. Thank you.
Nicole: Fine, let me see. I know you like to wear them like this.
Daniel: So how does it look?
Brady: Listen, um, I have to go meet with Seth burns, but, um, text me, and we'll do-- we'll do something.
Melanie: Oh, okay.
Brady: All right, see you.
