Provided By Suzanne

 JJ: How's your grandfather doing?

Paige: Okay, they're still running tests. I'm really sorry I had to hang up yesterday, but my mom almost caught me on the phone with you.

Eve: The only way to keep her from ever being hurt by this secret is to stay away from her.

JJ: But she--she didn't catch you.

Paige: No. JJ, I'm really sorry I had to leave without even saying good-bye. My mom wanted us on the next plane to L.A. And--

JJ: Well, I'm glad that your grandfather's okay. I-I thought he was on his deathbed or something.

Paige: No. My mom just needed some moral support. JJ, are you still there?

JJ: Yeah--yeah, I was just wondering.

Paige: What?

JJ: Look--look, I know that your mom wanted you to go with her, but did you really have to go?

Kate: So they read our sales numbers and they wept. Thank you. I'll be in touch.

Harold: Mr. Hernandez is here...again.

Kate: Thank you, Harold. Don't you think this is getting a bit tired?

Rafe: I'm not here to see you.

Kate: Oh.

Rafe: We've got some questions for Chad.

Kate: Well, he's not here. Actually, he missed a conference call this morning because, apparently, he didn't come home last night. Can't imagine where he did spend the night, can you?

Chad: Hey. Hi. I didn't mean to wake you. Good morning.

Jordan: Yes, it is. I'm glad you did wake me.

Ben: When I was a kid, my finger could be hanging by a thread and Clyde would just slap a band-aid on it. Your outreach project at the hospital is gonna help so many people.

Abigail: Okay, Ben, you have to stop calling it my project. It was Jordan's idea.

Ben: Yeah, I know, but you're still in charge of making it happen.

Abigail: Well, Jordan's still a really big part of it. I mean, honestly, it doesn't even matter who thought of what. What matters is the people of the community get the care that they really need.

Clyde: Well, amen to that.

Kayla: I am so happy we finally made this happen. My schedule's been so crazy lately.

Hope: You know what, so has mine--absolutely insane. Actually, I'm meeting Aiden in a little while. We're going Christmas shopping for Ciara and chase while they're at school.

Kayla: Oh, well, speaking of Ciara, what do you think that she would want from her aunt Kayla?

Hope: Well, last week she was asking--yeah, last week she was asking for a pair of fake crutches.

Kayla: Really?

Hope: Mm-hmm.

Kayla: Well, I can accommodate that.

Hope. [Laughs] I know.

Kayla: You know, that girl kills me, really. She is just full of surprises.

Hope: I know she is. She's--you know what, so is chase.

Chase: Can I have your bacon if you're not going to eat it?

Aiden: Sure. Here you go. Chase, I need to talk to you about something.

Chase: Santa can't bring me an electric scooter this year, can he?

Aiden: It's not about your Christmas list. It's about your mom. I know you've been talking about her, which I want you to do, okay? Keep remembering her. That's important. But please--and I know I asked this before--maybe it didn't get through to you--you can't talk to anyone about her money.

Chase: Hope told you?

Aiden: It's what you are telling other people about your mom that concerns me. Okay? It's got to stop.

Paige: My mom was a total wreck about my grandpa Shane. And she knew I could do my finals from here, so...yes, I had to be here for her. Oh, God, she's--she's coming out of his room.

JJ: Well, you better go.

Paige: I love you. I'll call you as soon as I can.

JJ: I love you too.

Chase: I didn't know Hope was standing there.

Aiden: I realize that, okay? But why are you talking to Owen about your mom's money?

Chase: I don't know.

Aiden: That's not an answer.

Chase: I don't know why this is such a big deal.

Aiden: Chase, there are just certain things I'd rather not discuss with other people, okay? Private things.

Chase: So that means you don't want me to bring up Mom in front of Hope?

Aiden: [Sighs]

Hope: When I first met Aiden, he was, um--I don't know, he just seemed so serious and difficult and... that's all in the past. He's actually pretty funny and sweet.

Kayla: Does Ciara like him?

Hope: Yeah, she does. She likes him a lot. She asked me if it was still okay to talk about her daddy. Of course, it is. I mean, come on. Her dad is always gonna be her dad.

Kayla: Yeah.

Hope: Kay, the divorce is gonna be final soon. It's gonna be rough on Ciara. I really hope you're not upset with me.

Kayla: How many times do I have to tell you? I am upset with my brother. He put you in a terrible position and you deserve to go on with your life.

Hope: Thanks. Your support means everything to me.

Kayla: I understand how hard it is. How you can even feel guilty when you know there's no reason to.

Hope: Is there something you're not telling me?

Kayla: [Groans] Maybe.

Hope: Okay, so spill it. What is it?

Kayla: Mm. It's embarrassing.

Hope: Oh, my gosh, seriously? Am I gonna have to pry it out of you? It's bad enough I have to do that with Aiden.

Kayla: [Nervous laugh]

Aiden: Chase, this has nothing to do with Hope. Really. All right, she and I, we already discussed what she overheard. Look, everything is cool, okay? I don't want you talking to anyone else about things like that.

Chase: Money?

Aiden: Yes. Chase, we've been through this. All right, besides the fact that it's not polite. Just one question can lead to another, and, you know...

Chase: And you don't want anyone to ask questions?

Aiden: [Sighs] The thing is, you and I, we have special memories of your mom. They're personal. And I like to keep it that way. Just between us. You understand? Yeah? All right, come here. Come here. All right.

Ben: What can I get you, Clyde?

Clyde: I'm sorry. I didn't mean to interrupt.

Abigail: Oh, no, you didn't.

Clyde: You seemed so excited, it was contagious, you know, though I don't exactly know what it is we're so excited about.

Ben: Well, Abigail's working on a project to bring medical care directly to the community. It's gonna make a huge difference.

Abigail: If I can raise the money to make it happen, it'll make a big difference.

Clyde: Well, maybe I can be of some help in that area.

Rafe: Well, I don't give a damn where Chad spent the night. And if he's not here, I'm just gonna have to track him down.

Kate: Well, I don't know what it is, but it must be something pretty important to make you trek all the way out here. I mean, I have his private number. Why don't I give him a call and, you know...

Rafe: Okay.

Kate: Find out. Voicemail... which either means he's at the gym or... or maybe he's simply still tied up. [Chuckles]

Jordan: This is the best day ever.

Chad: Oh, yeah? We haven't even gotten out of bed yet.

Jordan: Exactly.

[Phone ringing]

Jordan: Oh, I better make sure it's not the hospital.

Chad: Uh-uh. What is it?

Jordan: Oh, um, just some information I requested about the project Abigail and I are working on.

Chad: I'm guessing she wouldn't be too happy to hear that you were with me last night.

Jordan: Well, we're happy. That's all I care about right now.

Chad: I could be happier.

Jordan: [Laughs]

Chad: Mm-hmm.

[Guitar music]

Jennifer: You sound great.

JJ: Oh, I was just fooling around.

Jennifer: You nervous?

JJ: A little. I just can't believe Dr. Richards makes house calls.

Jennifer: Well, I think that he felt you would be more comfortable talking here, you know?

JJ: Yeah.

Jennifer: What are you thinking?

JJ: I just feel really bad to drag all this up again. I'm sure it's like the last thing that you need right now.

Jennifer: I-I don't think you should feel bad, because I'm the one who urged you to see a therapist, honey. And I just--I want you talking about it so we can work through it.

JJ: Well, I was just really mad when I found out about Dad and I blamed a lot of people, including you. I'm just really sorry.

Jennifer: Well, I'm sorry that I didn't tell you the truth sooner.

JJ: Mom, you and abs have been amazing. I was a jackass when I came home from boarding school and you stood by me. And if you hadn't, I'd be in jail right now.

Jennifer: Well, you've shown me that I was right to have faith in you. I am really proud of you. And your dad would be proud of you too.

[Doorbell rings]

Jennifer: Okay, that's Dr. Richards. My budget used to be hard on me.

Abigail: I hope you didn't think that I was hinting for you--

Clyde: No, no, not at all.

Ben: I didn't even tell Abigail that you were looking to make a donation.

Clyde: Well, I just want it to be something to help the people of Salem, you know, so I'd love to hear more about your project.

Abigail: Um, well, actually it's not my project. It's Jordan's, but now we're working on it together.

Clyde: Oh, well, she didn't say anything to me, but I'm not surprised to hear it. I mean, your sister was always one to look out for the less fortunate, even when she was one. So why don't you tell me more about your project?

Rafe: Doesn't have to be this way, you know.

Kate: Oh, really? Really?

Rafe: Yeah.

Kate: 'Cause, you know, I think you're the one who actually vilified me for trying to help you.

Rafe: Oh, "help" me, really? Help me?

Kate: Yeah, yeah, help you. Aren't I a terrible person because I suspected that your precious Jordan was lying to you, which, for the record, she actually was.

Rafe: Okay, you know what, I did not come here to argue with you.

Kate: No, no, you came here to argue with Chad because now you're upset because he's sleeping with your ex.

Rafe: Okay, Jordan has nothing to do with this.

Kate: Oh, come off it. Why don't you just admit it? You're jealous. You can't stand it, because now she's moved on--with a DiMera, of all people--instead of crawling back to you.

Chad: What is it?

Jordan: I just, um... I just wanna say that I feel really lucky to have met you when I did. I wasn't in a very good place then, and...I just--I feel so much better about everything. And that's because of you.

Chad: Jordan, you don't have to--

Jordan: I want to. I want you to know how much you mean to me.

Hope: Oh, my gosh, what is--seri--what is there to be embarrassed about?

Kayla: Everything.

Hope: No, there is nothing wrong with online dating. Three of my girlfriends met their husbands that way. I think it's fantastic.

Kayla: I-I've just never done anything like this before. I don't--I don't even know how it works.

Hope: No, you know what, let's find out. What can I do to help? Let me look it up.

Kayla: No, no, no, no, thank you. Look, the last time that either one of us was on a blind date was, like, in a different century.

Hope: Thanks. Maybe for you. I have this other friend, Lisa Tjaden, she's gonna set me up my profile page and everything.

Hope: Oh, okay. Do you know her?

Hope: Well, sort of, I know her sister-in-law, Bree. We were in a mommy-and-me class together years ago. Actually, I ran into her a few weeks ago--she was visiting from Portland.

Kayla: Doesn't she look incredible?

Hope: And so do you.

Kayla: Mm! I-- so you don't think I should put a 20-year-old picture on my profile?

Hope: No, no, you are gorgeous right now, today, at this very moment.

Kayla: You know what? I'm not gonna do it. I'm not gonna do it.

Hope: No, I definitely think you should do it--I'm gonna look it up.

Kayla: No, no--

Aiden: Uh, do what? Do what?

Kayla: Oh, God, it's so embarrassing. Hi, Aiden. Thanks for your help. I'm gonna go.

Hope: I'm gonna get some information on this--

Kayla: No, no, no, no...

Hope: Yes, yes, yes, yes! It's gonna be great.

Aiden: Oh, I'm sorry, I interrupted something, didn't I?

Hope: No, just--just girl talk.

Aiden: See, so now you're the one keeping secrets, hmm?

Hope: Come on, Kris Kringle, we've got some Christmas shopping to do.

Aiden: Let's go.

Jennifer: Okay, well, I'll let you and Dr. Richards talk. And I'll--I'll just be upstairs if you need anything.

JJ: Uh, thank you for coming. Have a seat, uh... I think my mom sort of filled you in on my situation.

Richards: She told me what happened between your father and your aunt.

JJ: Well, that's what we all keep calling it. "What happened," and no one can even say the word... just...rape.

Richards: How did it make you feel when you first heard it?

JJ: I was really angry, angrier than I've ever been in my life. And at my family for lying to me all those years, and... and at my dad. And it's like I can't even--even talk to him now, to just...

Richards: To what?

JJ: I don't know. If he were here, I don't even know what I'd say to him. It's not like he can explain that away.

Richards: What have you done to deal with your feelings?

JJ: I try to forget it. You know, but then my girlfriend found out about it and I couldn't get it out of my head.

Richards: How'd your girlfriend react?

JJ: She was really upset, mostly because she didn't hear it from me. But I just couldn't find the words, and now I understand why my mom and sister couldn't find a way to tell me. My dad...he made a lot of mistakes, but he was also an amazing dad... most of the time. And...

Richards: JJ, knowing what you do, how do you feel about your father now?

Abigail: There are so many people who need hospital services that can't come to us. Seniors and people without cars, people in prisons. Right now, the only way for them to receive any sort of medical care is if it's an emergency situation. So what we want to do is bring preventative and rehabilitative care to them.

Clyde: Well--and this was my little girl's idea?

Ben: Yes, it was. And Abigail took the idea and ran with it. She's applying for government grants and she's launching a fundraising campaign.

Clyde: And who could resist a sales pitch like that, huh? Your compassion really shines through, you know, just like Jordan's always has. Hearing about this makes me damn proud.

Abigail: Well, you should be. I got a pretty good sum of money I've been looking to donate. This sounds exactly like the kind of project I'm looking for.

Abigail: Really?

Clyde: Yeah.

Ben: Well, before you get too excited, I'm not sure this would work.

Kate: Oh, my God, you are obsessed. You are obsessed, and as much as you may deny it, this whole witch hunt, all it's about is your ego and Jordan Ridgeway.

Rafe: Okay, Kate, I'd be lying if I said I didn't worry about her, because I do. But I also worry about you.

Kate: [Scoffs] Me?

Rafe: Yeah. And the fact that you're in bed with Chad--not literally, I hope--strongly suggests to me that you are helping Stefano, maybe against your will... but no money or title is worth the hell that you're gonna pay when you get caught. I'm really gonna hate having to come back here to deal with you, too.

Kate: Good luck with that.

Aiden: Ah, Mr. Kringle... makes it around the world in one night. Halfway around the town square, and I am beat. Hey, um, do you wanna get a latte before we keep going?

Hope: Keep going? Aren't we done?

Aiden: We're not done, baby, we're just getting started.

Hope: Wow!

Aiden: What?

Hope: Chase is going to have a very nice Christmas.

Aiden: You know, it's just that Santa didn't bring him everything he asked for last year.

Hope: You don't have to explain, we've already discussed this--

Aiden: It's Christmas time, Hope, and--truth is, I, uh...

Hope: What?

Aiden: I need to make up certain things to chase.

JJ: My aunt Kayla is an amazing person, and I don't understand how he could've done that to her. Or to any woman. You know, I really... it kills me to think about it. And from what people have told me, it killed him too. I know he hated himself for it and he spent the rest of his life trying to--not make up for it, because that's not possible--but just to lead a better life.

Richards: And from what you're telling me, he did.

JJ: Yeah, I guess. I love my dad, and I always will. And I'm old enough now to understand that good people make bad choices. I can accept that, but...

Richards: But?

JJ: I keep going back to what he always used to say to me. That I'm a chip off the old block, and what if he's right?

Richards: Meaning?

JJ: What I'm-- what if I'm exactly like him? What if I have it in me, somewhere... to do what he did?

Abigail: Why wouldn't it work?

Clyde: It's not about the project, it's about Jordan.

Abigail: Ben, I know you might think that Jordan would be reluctant to accept a donation from Clyde, and I understand that, but I don't think you understand how passionate she is about making this happen.

Ben: Abigail, I know.

Abigail: And how many people could be helped by this. I mean, it's not like Jordan asked him for the money directly, or like she would owe him anything, right? And so, I just--I don't see how Jordan would turn down money for something this important just because it came from your dad.

Ben: I do.

Jordan: Rafe, wait up.

Rafe: Jordan.

Jordan: I want you to stop your investigation. It's pointless, and--

Rafe: Oh, I should've known that Kate would tip off Chad. What did he say?

Jordan: Chad? I'm talking about my stepfather Clyde. My God, don't tell me you're going after Chad, too.

Kate: You missed the conference call this morning.

Chad: I know, I figured you could handle it.

Kate: Just exactly what were you handling?

Chad: Have you read the employee handbook, Kate? Let's leave personal matters out of the workplace--I certainly would not want to hear about any of yours if there ever were any.

Kate: By the way, Rafe was here looking for you.

Chad: Why?

Kate: I don't know, he seems to be under the impression that you've done something illegal.

Hope: You wanna talk about what you said before? About still having so much to make up to chase.

Aiden: Just, I feel so much guilt, you know?

Hope: Aiden, what happened with Meredith wasn't your fault.

Aiden: I could've done so many things differently, Hope. Kid needs his mom.

Hope: Yeah. My, um--my mom died when I was a baby.

Aiden: Hope, I didn't know that.

Hope: Yeah. My dad spoiled me. Actually, he still spoils me. Look how I turned out.

Aiden: Well, I mean, I know I can't replace her, certainly not with stuff, but you know, I am a single, working dad. So if having the latest game system means all his friends come to our house, well, then... you know? I mean, I did drag him halfway around the country thinking a fresh start is just what he needed.

Hope: Do you regret it?

Aiden: No. Not at all. Although it was a tough adjustment. In fact, I don't blame you for hating me when we first met.

Hope: Oh, I mean, that's such an exaggeration. I didn't exactly hate--

Aiden: I was an ill-tempered SOB, okay, full of doubt and grief. Although it'd been a while since Meredith had died.

Hope: Grief lasts a long time. That I do understand.

Aiden: I know you do.

Hope: What is it?

Aiden: Just got a little bit of...foam from your latte there.

Lisa: The site is super easy to navigate, and if there's anybody you don't want to hear from, you can just block them.

Kayla: Oh, well, that's good to know. Mm. Can I order up one of those, maybe?

Lisa: Is that Aiden Jennings?

Kayla: Yeah, you know him?

Lisa: Is he the guy your sister-in-law--I mean ex-sister-in-law--is dating?

Kayla: Yeah. Why?

JJ: When I found out about my dad, I smashed a window in the town square. And I was so furious that I couldn't see straight.

Richards: Did you hurt anyone?

JJ: No. No, but this one time, I was with my girlfriend, Paige, and I was into it, and she wasn't ready and she had to yell at me to stop.

Richards: Did you stop?

JJ: Yeah. And--and--and after that I'm--I'm so careful because I-- I don't wanna...

Richards: Has anything like this happened with another woman?

JJ: No--no, but before Paige, I wasn't the guy anyone dated if they wanted a committed relationship. I've--there's been plenty of times that I've screwed up with women.

Richards: You think you're unique in that regard?

JJ: Well, no.

Richards: Rape is an act of violence in a sexual situation. You understand that it's nothing like you're describing. Tell me, JJ, what do you think about yourself?

JJ: I don't know. My mom would say that I'm a good kid who's made some bad choices, but when things are finally, finally going great, why do I screw it up?

Richards: Only you can answer that question. Your mom said that you ran into some trouble with the law when you first came back to Salem.

JJ: Yeah.

Richards: What were you feeling then?

JJ: My dad was dead and my mom was seeing someone new. I was...

Richards: Hurting? The question troubling you right now isn't really about those other bad choices, is it? It's about whether you could make the choices your father made. Do you think you could ever be violent toward a woman in the way your father was toward your aunt?

JJ: No. I--I--I don't... I--I could never do what he did. Not to anyone.

Ben: Look, I'm sorry, it's just--

Abigail: No--no, it's fine, you know, you're right. This--this should be Jordan's call. If she doesn't want to accept Clyde's contribution, then--

Clyde: Does she have to know? Couldn't I make an anonymous contribution? I mean, I don't need anyone to pat me on the back for my generosity, I just wanna give something back.

Abigail: But, would you really be willing to do that?

Clyde: Of course, if it's possible.

Abigail: Yeah, I mean, I don't see why not. People make anonymous contributions all the time and nobody ever questions them. Yeah, what do you think?

Jordan: I thought you had more integrity than this.

Rafe: Just doing my job.

Jordan: Are there really no other criminals in Salem? Is it really your job to be investigating my stepfather's past? And now my...

Rafe: Your what? Go ahead, Jordan, you can say it. Your lover?

Kate: Apparently, your sudden ascension to co-CEO of DiMera has raised a few eyebrows. Then there's the fact, of course, that you're listed as an owner of a company that Victor, Lucas, and I helped bail out.

Chad: I was just trying to help Sami.

Kate: Yeah, well, the way the police see it, you're acting as a puppet for Stefano, which means you're aiding and abetting a fugitive.

Chad: What, the police? You mean Rafe. He can't stand the fact that I'm with Jordan now. He's gonna do anything and everything he can to retaliate against me because he knows he's never gonna get her back.

Kayla: I didn't know you knew Aiden Jennings.

Lisa: Yeah, you told me Hope was divorcing Bo, but I had no idea she was seeing Aiden Jennings.

[Phone ringing]

Kayla: Huh. Oh, excuse me one second. Oh, I'm sorry to cut this short. I have an emergency at the hospital--I have to go.

Lisa: See you.

Kayla: Thanks for your help.

Lisa: Any time.

Kayla: Okay.

Aiden: All right, well, I better finish my shopping then.

Hope: Okay, well, don't let me stop you, please go without me.

Aiden: Well, one more thing.

Hope: What's that?

Richards: JJ, I think you just answered your own question. You don't wanna hurt anyone the way your father did. If anything, learning about your father's past may have made you more aware or sensitive than many other people your age.

JJ: So, um, you think I'm okay?

Richards: I do. But what matters is what you think. You may feel you've "screwed up," as you put it, but you strike me as a perceptive young man. Figure out why you made those choices, stop sabotaging your own happiness.

JJ: Right.

Richards: JJ, you obviously have conflicting emotions about your father. You still think of him with love, of course, but the disappointment you feel... it must be very painful. And it's never going to completely disappear. But you're not doomed to repeat his mistakes. In the end, it's up to you. If you feel you'd like to talk again, please call me... any time.

JJ: Thank you.

Richards: It was nice meeting you, JJ.

JJ: You too.

Jennifer: Hey, I heard the door--are you all finished?

JJ: Yeah.

Jennifer: Oh, how'd it go?

JJ: Thank you, Mom. Thank you so much.

Kate: You know, actually, Rafe did seem rather piqued when I mentioned that you hadn't come home last night.

Chad: I'm sure you felt compelled to tell him that, didn't you?

Kate: He probably assumed that you were with Jordan and her nasty little fur ball. But if that was the case, you should be in a better mood. Unless, of course, she's not everything she's cracked up to be. Seriously, though, you should be careful, he's out to crucify you. He's not gonna let up.

Chad: Well he better, or your ex-boy toy is gonna find out he's taken on the wrong guy.

Jordan: I'm not gonna talk to you about me and Chad. What matters is, I'm pretty damn sure he hasn't done anything wrong.

Rafe: Okay, well, if he hasn't done anything wrong, then you don't need to worry about him, do ya? Same with Clyde, so... enjoy your day.

Ben: I just don't like keeping stuff from my sister.

Abigail: Yeah, and I understand, but if Clyde wants to make the donation anonymously, then we're obliged to keep it that way. Ben, just think about all the people this will help.

Ben: I know, you're right.

Abigail: Okay. Well, then if you're--if you're absolutely positive that this is something that you want to do and you don't feel like I've influenced you, at all--

Clyde: Sweetheart, all you've done is made my day. All right, seeing how much this means to you, knowing how happy my stepdaughter will be if this project gets off the ground, that's all the thanks this anonymous donor will ever need. Okay?

Abigail: Okay--oh, my God, thank you so much, Mr.--

Clyde: You're welcome.

Abigail: Clyde.

Clyde: Yes, Clyde, that's right--you're so welcome. Are you sure you're okay with this, son?

Ben: As long as you're both sure this is what you want.

Clyde: All right, then. Let me get the ball rolling.

Abigail: Okay. Thank you, Clyde.

Clyde: You're welcome.

Abigail: My God, Ben, this is amazing. Oh, my God!

JJ: Deep down...

Jennifer: Mm-hmm.

JJ: I--I guess I already knew what Dr. Richards was saying, but it really did help to talk it through.

Jennifer: Good, I'm so glad.

JJ: And I know I'm never going to understand why Dad did what he did, but I know that it has nothing to do with me or the choices that I make.

Jennifer: Yes, that's right, honey. I love you, baby, I love you so much.

JJ: I love you too.

Jennifer: So proud of you, and I really wanted you to do this for yourself, you know? But I hope that now you can see this--this shouldn't stop you from reconnecting with Paige, right?

[Phone ringing]

Hope: Hello.

Bree: Hope, it's Bree Tjaden.

Hope: Hey, Bree-- um, Bree, hi--I'm sorry, I didn't know you had my cell phone.

Bree: I didn't, I got it from my sister-in-law, Lisa. She told me that you are dating Aiden Jennings.

Hope: Yes. I am, that's true.

Bree: Hope, listen carefully. You're make a terrible--a deadly--mistake. <
