Provided By Suzanne
Rory: You look like hell.
Paige: It's always great to see you, Rory.
Rory: Wait. I thought JJ was meeting up with you.
Paige: Yeah, um... we did. That's what's wrong.
JJ: Where's Paige?
Eve: She's not here. What--what are you doing, JJ?
JJ: Damn it. All right, well, where is she, 'cause I need to see her.
Ben: You son of a bitch.
Chad: [Laughing] Whoo.
Ben: I'm not buying your act anymore, DiMera. I know you spoke to that landlord, and you told him to turn me down for that apartment.
Chad: Oh, now you have nowhere to hook up with Abigail. No wonder you're frustrated.
Rafe: Hey, Abigail.
Abigail: Hey. Hi, Rafe.
Rafe: How you doing?
Abigail: How are you?
Rafe: Okay. Thanks.
Abigail: Good to see you. Hey, how are you holding up with Ari being in California? I know I miss her already.
Rafe: Yeah, yeah. Me too. But we're going to start Skyping soon, so...
Abigail: Oh, great. So there's that, yeah. I should let you know when we're doing one of our sessions.
Abigail: Yes, please do. I would love that.
Jordan: That I didn't just have my mama's blood on my hands.
Clyde: Yeah, that's true.
Jordan: Well, then please tell me exactly what you were talking about.
Clyde: [Chuckles] Are you really trying to say you don't know? What the hell kind of a game are you playing, Tammy sue.
Daniel: Hey, Brady. Yeah, I just got out of surgery.
Brady: Yeah, you've been busy.
Daniel: Uh, yeah, I heard what happened, and I'm just worried about you, man.
Brady: Yeah, well, uh... you should be.
Theresa: Kristen or no Kristen, I'm the mother of Brady's child, and nothing can ever change that. I mean, I just need him to talk to me, even if it's for a couple minutes.
Anne: Okay, yeah, but he's furious with you. He won't even return your phone calls.
Theresa: What, so I'm just supposed to sit on this? You know, I-I bet he'd take the call if he thought it was from her.
Anne: Theresa Donovan, what are you scheming about now? Hmm?
Kristen: And that job we discussed--are you sure it can be done and that you can take care of it tonight?
Mandrake: Oh, yes. Most definitely, ms. DiMera. Of course, if either one of us is caught...
Kristen: If I had wanted somebody to tell me how illegal this is, I would have called my lawyer. But instead, I called you. Let's get to work.
Rory: All right, sorry. I'm confused.
Paige: No, you? [Chuckles]
Rory: Okay, when JJ left to meet up with you, he was really happy... excited.
Paige: Oh, even more excited than when he was hanging out with all those disgusting girls at that party?
Rory: Okay, wha-- hold on. You--you got that wrong, okay?
Paige: Don't protect him, Rory. I know exactly what kind of person he is.
Eve: [Sighs] Oh, why tonight? Why now? Paige isn't coming home tonight. That's all I know.
JJ: Oh, God.
Eve: Hey! JJ! Stop it. Have you been drinking? Did you do something to Paige? JJ?
JJ: You hate me, but trust me, no one hates me more than I do right now. You know what? Congratulations. You got your wish.
Eve: My wish?
JJ: It's all over for me and Paige.
Jordan: You're the one playing games. Now tell me what you meant.
Clyde: Come on, you know what you did.
Jordan: No, I know what you did... to me, and to Ben after our mother died.
Clyde: After she died? You mean after you killed her.
Jordan: Oh, for the last time, it was an accident.
Clyde: Say that all you want, but it'll never make it come true.
Jordan: I should have known you were messing with me. You made all this up just to get to me, huh? You know what, Clyde? It's not going to work.
Clyde: My God. You really don't remember, do you?
Ben: Come on, come on.
Abigail: What is going on?
Rafe: Whoa! Hey, Ben! Get off him! What the hell is wrong-- hey.
Chad: I'll tell you what's going on. Your lunatic boyfriend just jumped me.
Ben: You lied to that landlord about me, and you got him to turn me down.
Chad: I didn't lie to anyone.
Rafe: Hey, enough!
Abigail: Okay, then--then what did you do? Did Ben lose that apartment because of you?
Chad: Oh, yeah, I guess you could say that.
Clyde: You just pushed it all out of your head, didn't you? [Chuckles] You know, your mama could be like that, too, sometimes. Every bad thing I ever did was always right there on the tip of her tongue. But she had a very convenient kind of amnesia when it came to things that she did
Jordan: Don't talk about her like that.
Clyde: You're right. We were talking about the things that you did, about your amnesia... like the way you forgot that you killed your own mama.
Anne: Hi, ms. Walker. Do you remember me?
Nicole: The petty bureaucrat who runs H.R. At the hospital? Oh, yeah, I remember you.
Anne: Okay, I thought perhaps we got off on the wrong foot. But, you know, I just--I feel so protective over my little hospital family. So, when you asked to do that interview...
Nicole: You threw your weight around 'cause that's your idea of a good time.
Anne: Ms. Walker, please. I think I can make this up to you. I got a real nice scoop I could share.
Nicole: About the hospital?
Nicole: Have a seat.
Anne: Oh, no, no, no. You never know--you never know who's listening around here, right? So you want to go outside?
Nicole: All right.
Anne: Okay, great.
Daniel: Yeah, I saw Marlena before I went into surgery. She told me you found out about, uh, Theresa.
Brady: Are you free now? Can you come over here?
Daniel: Uh, yeah, sure.
Brady: Good. We'll talk here.
Daniel: All right, cool. I'm on my way.
Brady: I can hardly wait.
Kristen: Do you have everything you need in there?
Mandrake: I've come fully prepared. It's a nice view that you have. Is that a public plaza down there?
Kristen: Yes, it is.
Mandrake: No trees, no other structures. You can see the whole plaza quite clearly. Let's get to work.
Mandrake: I have everything we need right here.
Kristen: Fantastic. Can we please just do this? We don't have a lot of time.
Paige: Fun pictures, huh? Looks like a great party.
Rory: Okay. Hold up. I was there.
Paige: Yeah, it seems like your idea of a good time.
Rory: So Bev sent these to you?
Rory: Well, and that doesn't tell you something? Like, she's not exactly your best friend. Look, you know that she has this thing about JJ.
Paige: Like, you want me to think she posed him with those girls? Did--did she hand him the beer too? Just how stupid do you think I am?
Rory: Okay, being book smart doesn't mean that you're not life stupid.
Rory: And you're majorly life stupid. What--you really can't see that there's another side to this?
Paige: Why are you sticking up for him? You're the one who hated him for taking Jill away from you. Well, guess what. It turns out you were right. He's a dog.
Eve: You're wrong, JJ. All I ever wanted was... just for all this to work. I wanted Paige to come here to Salem, finish high school, have a good life-- I mean, a great life-- start it. [Voice breaking] And for me, I... just wanted to... you know, to get what was coming to me... get back to doing what I was meant to do. Just... I wanted us all to be... happy. It's just too much to ask, I guess.
JJ: Are you crying? What happened?
Eve: Let me get my cheerful little doctor over here to give you my prognosis.
JJ: Are you sick?
Eve: It's nothing. It's not important. I-it doesn't matter.
JJ: Well, it really seems like it does.
Eve: [Crying] I can't have my surgery, JJ. I'm never going to be able to sing again. It's--it's a nerve thing. There's--there's no fixing it.
JJ: I sprained my wrist playing basketball, and I-- I couldn't play guitar for a month. I couldn't stand it.
Eve: Oh, don't. Don't.
JJ: It was a month. It wasn't forever. I'm really sorry.
JJ: It must hurt like hell.
Eve: It hurts like hell, yeah.
JJ: You just found out?
Eve: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Singing was all I had. Now I can't do it. It's all I had, JJ. I don't have anything.
JJ: That's not true, you know.
Eve: I just don't want to be one of those sad women, you know, that spend their life focusing on their children. My voice was all I had.
JJ: That's not true. You're really smart.
Eve: Right. That and a dime will get you nothing.
JJ: Stop treating yourself like that. I mean, don't--don't talk about yourself like your some kind of...
Eve: Failure? If the shoe fits, right?
JJ: No. Look... you're really smart and... really beautiful.
Eve: [Mumbles indistinctly]
JJ: Really... you're really beautiful.
Rory: Look... you're not mean like Bev. And you're not a goof like I can be. Okay, and the truth is, I've never been all that crazy about you, but... honestly, I didn't think that you were the type of person to just shut JJ out without even giving him the chance. I mean... do you want to be that person?
JJ: Paige, it's me. Um, I-I just--I-I just-- I'm so sorry, and I didn't mean for things to get screwed up like that. I-I wanted to tell you about my dad and aunt Kayla since day one. I just didn't know how.
Nicole: OMG. Stop the presses.
Anne: Yeah. [Chuckles]
Nicole: The hospital is sponsoring a scholarship for the H.R. Department? I'm sorry. I'm sorry. This story is way too big for me. I think Brian Williams is going to want to lead off with it.
Anne: Well, there's more.
Nicole: There's more?
Nicole: Did someone lose a purchase order?
Anne: You do know sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, hmm?
Nicole: Okay, promise me that no one else knows about this. Promise me that this is an exclusive.
[Cell phone ringing]
Theresa: Brady, it's me.
Theresa: You need to listen to me. It's important.
Brady: Shh. Listen closely. You're going to hear exactly what's important.
Theresa: Damn it.
Anne: This scholarship will change somebody's life.
Nicole: Seriously? You were worried that someone would overhear you talking about a H.R. Scholarship?
Nicole: Wait a minute. [Gasps] What the hell do you think you're doing?
Theresa: I think someone lost their phone.
Nicole: Really? I think your troglodyte friend here tried to set me up. Why would you need to call Brady from my phone?
Theresa: I have no idea what you're talking about.
Nicole: [Mockingly] I have no idea what you're talking about. Well, we'll just have to see what Brady says about that.
Anne: All right, so what happened?
Theresa: He hung up on me.
Anne: Okay. All right, then wise up, okay? Because he just did you a favor.
Daniel: Hey, Brady. How you doing?
Brady: How am I doing? I'm great, terrific, never better.
Brady: Oh, Daniel, the air has been cleared. I mean, I can see clearly now. Everything's... perfectly clear. What am I doing? Get thee behind me, Satan. You can help yourself if you want.
Daniel: No, no, no. I'm good, I'm good, you know. Like I said, Brady, I-I heard what happened.
Brady: Yeah, you know, Daniel, oh, my God, everybody's been... [Sighs] Lying to me. I mean the very idea of it, it's--
Daniel: No, no, I know.
Brady: It's been crazy. I mean, Theresa's been lying to me for months about how I supposedly cracked my own father's head open with a fireplace poker. Happened right here. And my father wakes up from a coma, which she put him in... and he backs up her lie... all done in the spirit of protecting me, of course, from the queen of all liars--Kristen, but... irony triumphs, as Kristen was the one who was right about Theresa. Kristen--I mean, she is something. Just when you think you know what she's doing, she spins everything. She's full of surprises. You never know what she's going to do next.
Daniel: Uh, yeah, yeah. Brady, there's, um--there's something you should know.
Brady: Okay, great, 'cause I love knowing things.
Daniel: Yeah, I, um... look, I suspected Theresa was lying to you for a while now, but I just--I wasn't sure.
Brady: So you kept it to yourself?
Daniel: Yeah, I didn't I should say anything unless I-I knew, you know, for sure.
Brady: Daniel, I kind of-- I kind of knew. I did. I mean, I knew--I knew you were concerned, and I knew you were worried about me, you know, like--like my best friend. I knew.
Daniel: Yeah, no, I, uh--I am your friend.
Brady: Right. So, when--when that truth just slammed me in the face about Theresa and--and my dad, it just--I...
Daniel: You what?
Brady: [Sighs] I went to see my best friend... [Chuckles] You know... the one guy that I knew would be concerned about me, the one guy who has always had my back. I really wanted to talk to you, but you were in bed doing Kristen, so I didn't think the timing was good. Yeah, buddy, I saw you. You son of a bitch.
JJ: Jill and those other girls tonight-- they were a mistake. But I swear, nothing happened, and they sure as hell didn't mean anything to me. Whoever took that picture tonight was just trying to mess with us... and it worked. Paige... I love you... and I hope you know that.
[Cell phone vibrating]
JJ: This is JJ. Leave me a message, and I'll get back to you.
Paige: [Sighs] Maybe I should just go home.
Rafe: Hey, enough. You lied? Huh? Why the hell would you do that?
Chad: Who said I was lying? I just didn't think Ben would want me for a landlord.
Ben: What the hell are you talking about?
Chad: My family owns that apartment building. You're already working for me. Do you really want to be paying me rent too? I was trying to look at it from your point of view, and I was getting ready to tell you. I even had a couple places to suggest that my family doesn't own, but before I could say anything, I had a fist in my face.
Rafe: Okay. You and me, outside.
Ben: You're a liar.
Abigail: Ben--he didn't know.
Chad: Yeah, here's what we do know. Your boyfriend has a serious problem with his temper. Now, for his sake, I hope he gets a handle on it. Now I got to go get some ice.
Jordan: I know in my soul that mama's death was an acci--
Clyde: An accident. Yeah, I know. It's kind of interesting the way you convinced yourself of that. You know, the mind, it-- it does play tricks. It must be too painful for you to remember the rest of it. But I don't know--a shrink would know better than me.
Jordan: You bastard.
Clyde: Try to take care of yourself, Tammy. Maybe you can take your mind off things with that rich new boyfriend of yours. It's best now that you don't remember what you did, but know this-- I will never forget.
Brady: You weren't even going to say a word, were you? I mean, my so-called friend coming over here to make sure I'm okay. You want her, man, you--you go find her. You can have her.
Daniel: Okay, listen, I made a mistake. The last thing that I wanted to do was hurt you.
Brady: Oh, is that what you're going to tell Jennifer? "I didn't mean to hurt you, Jenn. I-I didn't mean to have sex with Kristen. Sorry if it hurt you"? You know, I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it, Daniel, but the fact is, I saw it, and it pissed me off, and...
[Both breathing heavily]
JJ: Oh, my God, what have I done?
Eve: What has happened here?
JJ: [Exhales deeply]
Eve: JJ, you got to get out of here. You got to get out of here now. JJ.
Paige: Mom? Are you home? Mom?
Ben: The guy's a jerk, Rafe.
Rafe: Yeah, I agree. I just don't know that that gives you the right to knock his teeth out.
Ben: He pushes my buttons every damn time.
Rafe: Right, yeah. I, uh--I see that. I mean, you do-- you realize that you have some issues with self-control? Newsflash, Ben--Chad hates your guts, okay? I mean, you're dating his ex. You work for him. He's a DiMera.
Ben: Okay, you're taking his side, and he's after Jordan. I'm sure you wish she was still with you, and yet you're going to defend him?
Jordan: Hey. What happened to you?
Brady: You know what you are? You're a two-faced bastard!
Brady: Some friend!
Nicole: Stop, please stop!
Brady: You're not worth it.
Daniel: Okay, just listen.
Brady: I know--I know this part, buddy, all right? This is where you tell me that you stopped it before it went too far, right? The bitch tried to sell me on that one. I'll tell you the same thing I told her--it doesn't matter. It's semantics. When you touched her, man, you went too far.
Daniel: Look, I am sorry.
Brady: Well, don't be sorry! Don't be sorry. You did me a favor. You know, when I think about it, you helped me out. You know, I've learned a lot about the important people in my life in the last 24 hours--you, Theresa, my dad, Kristen... who's told me about a million times that she--she loves me and never actually meant it.
Daniel: Okay, if--if you just listen to me for--
Brady: No, you listen. Dan--Daniel, Daniel, I don't want to see you. I don't want to hear from you. You did me a solid. Thanks, man. Get the hell out of my house. What are you doing here?
Nicole: I came about Theresa.
Anne: You know you're a smart girl, but you got one problem, okay? And that is that you don't know how to slow down and think things through.
Theresa: What is there to think about? I mean, I'm having Brady's baby.
Anne: Yes, I get that, and that's not going to change anytime soon. But could you think about this from Brady's perspective for one second? Huh? He just found out what happened that night and that you let him twist in the wind for months for something you did. I mean, honestly, it's hard to fathom how much this guy-- what's the word--loathes you. I mean, really, you think this is a good time to tell him that you're walking around with Brady Jr. In your body? That's how you lose this guy for good, okay?
Mandrake: We're done here anyway.
Kristen: I think this is everything you require. As for the rest of it...
Mandrake: You'll hear from me when it's done.
Kristen: I'll be here. I've got no place else to be.
Paige: Oh. She must have left. No, she wouldn't have left without her purse. She must have...
Eve: Paige. Honey, you're--you're home.
Paige: You didn't hear me calling you?
Eve: I-I thought you were-- you were staying at a friend's house tonight.
Paige: Mom, what's wrong?
Eve: Everything, honey. Just--just everything.
JJ: Oh, God.
Paige: Mom, tell me, what is it? Discover Brookside,
Chad: So I figured that there was no way Ben would want to live in a DiMera building, but before I could explain, you know Ben.
Jordan: Chad, I am so sorry. I feel so terrible.
Chad: Don't be, all right? It was just a misunderstanding. Ben and I, we don't exactly get along.
Jordan: I-I need to talk to him.
Chad: He's outside with Rafe. Look, Jordan, go easy on him, okay? I'm pretty sure Rafe is out there giving it to him with both barrels, so. Are you sure you're okay?
Jordan: Yeah, I'm--I'm fine. Why?
Chad: You don't look it. All right, when you walked in, it looked like something was really wrong.
Rafe: You're right. I can't stand seeing Jordan with Chad, and in fact, I hate it. So maybe I should go in there and punch him in the face, huh? No, see, that would be a bad idea because I might get arrested. Actually I probably wouldn't because I don't have any history or prior arrests, but you do.
Ben: All right, I get it, okay?
Rafe: Okay. Good. So now I'm going to go back inside, and I'm going to talk to our little friend, and see if I can keep him from pressing charges against you, okay? You're going to stay out here, and you're going to calm yourself down.
Ben: All right.
Rafe: Good. Now let's just pray that I don't come out with handcuffs.
Ben: [Exhales deeply]
Brady: I know that Theresa used your phone to call me, all right?
Nicole: Hey, I didn't know. She and that cow from the hospital totally set me up. If I had a clue about what was going on, then maybe--
Brady: It doesn't-- it doesn't matter, Nicole. Just--just forget about it.
Nicole: You can't even look at me. Brady, I heard you and Daniel. Talk to me. I know you're trying to help. I appreciate it. I would like to be left alone though.
Nicole: Right. Sorry to bother you. Daniel.
Anne: Come to my place, and, you know, I'll pop a bottle of wine, and figure the whole thing out.
Theresa: God knows I would love a drink, but I'm pregnant.
Anne: Okay, well that doesn't mean that I can't drink, now does it?
Theresa: Just forget it, all right? I'm going home.
Anne: All right, fine. Listen, mazel tov on the baby. And don't worry, 'cause we're going to--we're going to work through that whole "hitting the old guy in the head with a poker and letting his son think he did it" thing. It's okay, it's a rocky start. No big deal. Time heals everything.
Theresa: You know, you're a really sucky best friend.
Anne: And I'm all you got. [Blows kiss]
Nicole: Daniel? I know this is not any of my business, but I'm confused.
Daniel: Well, that makes two of us.
Nicole: Could it be that Brady's wrong? I mean, I came in the middle of all of that, and I'm still not sure exactly--
Daniel: Well, what you heard was all true.
Eve: Something has happened. Yeah, something--something terrible, sweetheart, and there's-- there's no reversing it.
Eve: It's-- it's my surgery. I can't have the operation. I'm never going to be able to sing again. Not now, not ever.
Paige: Mom. I'm so sorry.
Eve: The doctor was pretty blunt about it.
Paige: We'll find another doctor.
Eve: No, no, listen, no. You know what? I-I don't deserve your-- your sympathy.
Paige: What? Why?
Eve: I just-- I've been fooling myself way too long about all of this, honey, I--
Paige: Don't talk like that. It was your dream. We're going to sit down, and we're going to talk about this.
Eve: No, no.
Eve: You know, look at this. I-I came home. I had--I had some wine. I got a raging headache, and we're out of aspirin. Would you do me a favor, honey? Would you just go to the corner store and pick me up a bottle please? Please?
Paige: No. There's some in your bedroom. I'll get it.
Chad: No, I don't want to press any charges.
Chad: Like I told Jordan, it was just a misunderstanding.
Rafe: All right. Well, I've got to go. Ben's waiting for you outside.
Rafe: To talk.
Chad: With his fists? What, too soon? We can't joke about it? I guess, all right, we can't joke about it.
Jordan: Hey, thank you. Abigail said you broke up the fight, and thank you for calming Ben down.
Rafe: Yeah, well I didn't want to have to read him his rights. But Ben does have a bit of a temper. Yeah, might land him in some trouble.
Jordan: I know. We both know.
Rafe: Yeah, kinda got a short fuse. Especially around Chad. Yeah. Well, might want to consider that. All right, I'll see you.
Abigail: Bye. What was that supposed to mean?
Jordan: I don't think Rafe is very happy that I'm friends with Chad. You're probably not either.
Ben: So I guess I owe you an apology.
Chad: Look, I get it. I should have made it clear first thing that there was a problem with the apartment.
Ben: Well, you were right. I wouldn't want to live in an apartment that your family owned.
Chad: As I said, I get it. You know, it's bad enough your boss was your girlfriend's first, right?
Ben: Excuse me?
Chad: You didn't know? Me, Abigail. I mean, she was a virgin when I had-- ah, have I said too much?
Nicole: Brady's got to be off his rocker, right? I mean the idea of you and Kristen, I mean you didn't--
Daniel: No, we didn't sleep together. It didn't get that far.
Nicole: That far?
Daniel: But it went far enough.
Nicole: Are you saying you... touched her? Ew, Daniel? After what she did to Eric and to Brady, that's--ugh. Yuck, yuck.
Daniel: Look, I made a mistake, I know that. But we were both in a really bad place.
Nicole: Bad place? You'd have to be in a horrible place, like the third circle of hell if you'd even consider... wait a minute. Was this about Jennifer?
Daniel: It's over. We had it out once and for all, and it's just--it-- it's over, and I've never going to get her back.
Brady: What the hell do you want?
Kristen: I'll be leaving soon. But before I go, there's something you need to know.
Eve: Paige? Paige, no. Listen, there--there aren't any aspirin in there. I-I just checked.
Paige: There was some yesterday. Oh. I see.
