Episode #12430 ~ EJ's mother makes an unexpected appearance; Chad confides in Kate; Clyde sets up a meeting; Rafe sees Chad flirting with Jordan.
Provided By Suzanne
Rafe: It's called traveling, sonny, that's all.
Sonny: No, that's just another excuse. That's why you're 0-2.
Rafe: Ah, yeah. Oh, by the way, thank you so much for recruiting t to sub for Lucas, 'cause I know that was a real sacrifice.
Sonny: Don't be mad at me. I tried to recruit Ben.
Rafe: Oh, really?
Ben: I needed the hours here.
[Cell phone ringing]
Rafe: I'll bet.
Will: Zoe's looking for a progress report.
Rafe: It's called cheating. Yeah.
Ben: I was really looking forward to just one more chance of knocking you on your ass again.
Rafe: Oh, is that right? Well, then you'll be glad to hear that I actually tried to reach out to Jordan yesterday and she did a fine job of that on her own.
Jordan: She has gotten so big. Come here.
Abigail: Yeah, it's weird how babies tend to do that, huh?
Jordan: Yes. Oh, I have really missed seeing her since Rafe and I-- thanks for having me over.
Abigail: Thank you for the company. Sorry I had to bail on lunch yesterday. Uh... did you and Rafe have a chance to talk?
Jordan: How'd you know he was-- wait. Is that why you left?
Abigail: Kind of. I just--I thought maybe you guys could use the time alone.
Jordan: [Sighs] Thanks, but it's really hard for me to see him lately. I mean, I can't even look at him without picturing him in bed with Kate.
Chad: Thanks for meeting me.
Kate: Well, I assume we're not just here for the juice.
Chad: I talked to my father last night. Your name came up.
Chad: And I told him that everything was proceeding according to his plan.
Chad: And then I told him about my offer to help you destroy him.
Kate: You told him what?
Sami: Oh, I missed you all so much. I'm so glad you're home.
Johnny: Can we go to camp next year?
Sami: Yes. Yes, I missed you too, Johnny.
Johnny: I want to see dad. Where is he?
Sami: Oh, we were working from home this morning so we could be here when you got home, but EJ had to run out. Your daddy had to go to a meeting. He'll be right back, though. I promise. Um... oh, how's the, uh-- how's the poison ivy?
Sami: Still? Let me have a look. Wow. It looks good, actually. I think you're healing really well. Honey, I don't think that's gonna scar at all.
Clyde: [Chuckles] Mr. DiMera... I thought you'd appreciate receiving this in person. I want to kick off our new association just right. Now, ain't that a pretty sight?
Sydney: I went in a canoe!
Johnny: I went rock-climbing up a cliff.
Allie: It was a boulder. I ran the camp Olympics and got to boss them both around.
Sami: That's my girl.
Lucas: Yeah, yeah, that's my girl too.
Sami: Um, cook has, uh, breakfast for you. I think she has a surprise too. So eat up so we can go to school.
Johnny: Real food!
Sami: What is that face? You're upset because I said that EJ and I are working together again?
Lucas: Upset? Sami, I thought you were done with him. I thought you were gonna completely kick him out of everything, especially in business, after what he did with Abigail.
Sami: You know what? I don't owe you an explanation.
Lucas: I knew it. I knew this would happen. I could have called it. Rinse, cycle, repeat-- that's all you do. One minute you're ready to kill the bastard, and now what? What, you're ready to take him back? Really?
Clyde: It's all there, Mr. DiMera.
EJ: It had better be.
Kate: Why would you tell Stefano that we're working together?
Chad: That's what he wanted. Look, it's all a part of the plan, Kate. I was supposed to come back to Salem to win your trust.
Kate: And you did. And now I have to wonder when we're done here, are you going to call Stefano, report in? Whose side are you really on?
Jordan: I really love Rafe. And I wish there was a way I could get past this.
Abigail: No, Jordan, I didn't mean to push you. You're feelings are totally normal.
Jordan: Are they?
Abigail: Yes. They are. In fact, what's not normal is Sami and EJ forgetting everything that they have done to each other and getting back together.
Jordan: They did?
Abigail: Yeah, I-I... I ran into EJ last night. He was just glowing with happiness... for now, anyway.
Jordan: Well, if you love someone enough, I mean, shouldn't you find a way to forgive them? Maybe they're the ones who got it right.
Abigail: No, Jordan, look, I am all for you and Rafe working things out, okay? But don't compare yourself to Sami and EJ... at all. I mean, you and Rafe--God, you guys, you couldn't be more different.
Ben: Pushed her too hard, didn't you?
Rafe: Not really. Didn't actually have a chance to say much at all.
Ben: She's just protecting herself.
Rafe: No, I get it. I totally understand. I hurt her badly. I don't know. Maybe there is no fixing things for us.
Will: I haven't even had a chance to sit down with Chad yet.
Sonny: I wouldn't count on running into him here. Seems like he only shows up if he wants to pick a fight.
Will: You think you can cut the guy some slack? I mean, he was your best friend.
Sonny: [Sighs] I don't know, will. For the little I've seen him since he's been back, I just feel like somehow he's... just really changed.
EJ: Well, if that is all, I have somewhere else I need to be.
Clyde: Uh, if I could have another minute of your time, sir. You know, I was thinking that we should be toasting this great beginning, but then I thought, "no." Because the truth is, we could be doing even better... and soon.
EJ: I fail to see how.
Clyde: Well, I took a careful survey of this incredibly fertile area that we have to work in. [Chuckles] And, sir, the competition was just a bunch of amateurs that were real easy to move out of the way.
EJ: I didn't ask you--
Clyde: Oh, don't worry, sir, it was peaceful, more or less. The point is, I could be delivering twice what I brought you today, three times, even, without even breaking a sweat. All we have to do is expand our territory.
Clyde: But, sir--
EJ: This is my town, Mr. Weston. You stick to the area that I designated to you. You understand?
Clyde: Well, perhaps I'm not making myself clear, sir. We're talking about buckets of cash being left on the table.
EJ: What part of our working relationship is it that is not clear to you?
Sami: You know, you just sound jealous. You're jealous of our--
Lucas: Oh, now I'm jealous? Is that what I am? Really?
Sami: I know that you hate EJ, okay? I get it.
Lucas: And so did you, up until about ten minutes ago.
Sami: Oh, it was more than ten minutes.
Lucas: It wasn't much more than that, was it? It wasn't. You went on and on, Sami, about how he betrayed you and how you were totally justified in risking everything just to get revenge. What happened to that, huh? What'd you do? Did you change your mind all of a sudden?
Sami: Lucas, please... [Scoffs]
Lucas: No, no, don't even try to explain it. You know why? Because you can't. You can't explain it. You don't need to because this is what you do. This is who you are.
Sami: You know, you better be careful. You know who you're starting to sound like? Your mother.
Lucas: My what?
Sami: Oh, yeah, I said it.
Chad: I don't know whether I should report back to Stefano. What do you think?
Kate: I think I don't like playing games.
Chad: Ah, believe me, Kate, nobody hates games more than I do, especially when my father's involved, but he's not in control this time. I am.
Kate: And why? Hmm? Why do you hate him so much? Believe me, I am the last person who would defend Stefano, but he was devastated by what happened to you.
Chad: Maybe. But the minute I left that hospital in Boston, he was right back to his old self. You know, when I told him that I was coming back to Salem because I found out that EJ had slept with Abigail, you think he gave a damn how I felt?
Chad: All he cared about was figuring out a way to use it to his advantage. I'm not his son. I'm his proxy, his pawn. He thinks I should make amends with EJ because it's strategic. The DiMera men should be a united front. Ha.
Kate: United against whom?
Chad: Guess. I'm here on a mission to go after Sami on my father's behalf... and you, Kate... actually, mostly you.
Ben: Tell me something.
Ben: Do you really feel that bad about cheating on my sister? Or are you just hoping that's what will get back to her when we talk?
Rafe: Really? [Scoffs] I thought you knew me better than that by now.
Ben: So did I. But then again, I never thought that you would do something like that to her. And if she does decide to go on with her life without you, you'll have to pardon me if I don't wish you luck.
Rafe: Okay. Good talk. I got to get going.
Ben: All right.
Will: We on for a rematch?
Rafe: Yeah, you better believe it.
Will: Do you really think Chad's the one who's changed? I mean, maybe it's us.
Sonny: What, you think married life has made us boring?
Will: [Laughs] I was--I was gonna say more mature.
Sonny: Mature? That's coming from a guy who dressed up as Wally the walrus last week to make Ari laugh?
Will: Uh-huh. And I will rock that costume this Halloween.
Sonny: You better. Oh, did you tell Abigail that if Ari gets fussy this morning that--
Ben: Abigail's watching Ari?
Sonny: Yeah. Yeah, she's helping us out while she's looking for work.
Will: She just loves her godmother.
Sonny: Mm-hmm. She's great with kids. Oh, she's so good with kids. She used to say that she wanted a dozen. She wanted 12. Can you believe that? Well, that was--I mean, that was, like, a long time ago, though--really, really long time ago.
Ben: Hey, they'd be lucky kids. Abigail is going to be an amazing mom. Abigail is amazing, period. [Chuckles]
Jordan: Well, enough about me. How about you? I hope Ben took you some place nice last night.
Abigail: Actually, we had a picnic in the park.
Abigail: Yeah, we just wanted a little bit of privacy and since he can't have guests at the room he rents and since I live at home...
Jordan: But you like it, don't you?
Abigail: Living at home? Yeah, yeah, actually, I do. I'm really close with my mom and my brother, not that we don't drive each other absolutely crazy sometimes. But, uh, speaking of family, are things any better with your stepfather?
Jordan: Uh... no.
Abigail: I'm sorry. So... he seemed so remorseful when I talked to him, so hopeful that you guys could have a relationship again.
Jordan: Yeah, uh, well, it is more complicated than you could ever understand.
Jordan: And it is later than I realized. I got to go.
Abigail: Wait. I'm sorry. Jordan, I didn't mean to make you feel uncomfortable at all.
Jordan: No, you didn't. I have a client at the hospital. So I'll see you soon, okay?
Abigail: Yeah, definitely. Okay. Thanks for coming by.
Jordan: Thank you. Bye.
Chad: So... now you know what Stefano wants.
Kate: He's not gonna get it.
Chad: No, he's not. But he thinks I'm on his side. We can use that against him.
Kate: "We"? How do I know what side you're really on, Chad?
Chad: [Sighs] I like you, Kate. I hate my father.
Kate: Okay, so this is all about revenge?
Chad: Isn't that what it's about for you? You and Sami are the ones that put EJ and Stefano on the sidelines. I just want to keep them there, permanently. And unlike some people, I won't be such a fickle friend.
Kate: Sami was never my friend.
Chad: Good... because she won't be now. Not only do I want Stefano and EJ gone, I want my fair share of what's left over.
Kate: [Clicks tongue] A man with a plan... I like that. Let's go get 'em.
Lucas: You know, if-- and it's a big if-- if I sound like my mother, then I'll take that as a compliment, because occasionally, she's right, and this just happens to be one of those times. What are you gonna do? What are you gonna do when Stefano finds out what you did to him? What, are you just gonna just play it off? You think he's gonna forget about everything you did just because you're wearing his son's wedding ring?
Sami: EJ's gonna protect me from Stefano, all right? He's more powerful than his father.
Lucas: [Laughs] Really? He is now? How'd he do that?
Sami: It's not funny.
Lucas: It's hilarious. I'll tell you what's not funny, is the way you sucked my mother into this, and now what--she's just left high and dry? She's got no one to protect her.
Sami: I didn't suck your mother into anything. How dare you? First of all, your mother blackmailed me into making her co-CEO.
Lucas: You needed her. You needed her, and you know it.
Sami: She's my partner, all right? Yes, I care, but I'm not going to help her if she keeps acting like EJ and I are her mortal enemies.
Lucas: But wait, wait. You are.
Sami: No, we're not. Come on, help your mother out. Convince her that she cannot break me and EJ up and that she has to just accept that we are together and we are stronger than ever.
Lucas: She won't have to do anything. This will take care of itself in a couple weeks.
Sami: Lucas, please. Look... my mom and my dad both gave me their blessing, and... and I don't need yours, but... it would mean a lot to me. I mean, come on, for Allie's sake.
Lucas: You mean for your sake. Your husband seduces my niece, and you just act like everything's okay.
Lucas: You know what, Sami? That's your problem, because everything's not okay with me. So, no, you're not gonna get my blessing on this. You know, next time--next time he hurts you... forget it. You're on your own. I don't care.
Clyde: I didn't mean to overstep. I was thinking of you, sir, and maximizing our profit.
EJ: Maybe I wasn't abundantly clear when I took you on. See, I do the thinking. And then you do what I decide. You understand?
Clyde: Yes, sir.
EJ: I know this town. And I asked you to focus your business on the parts of this town that I do not frequent with my family. To do so would not just be unacceptable, Mr. Weston, it would be a fatal mistake. Are we clear? Yes.
Clyde: Yes. Hey, it's me. I need you to set up a meeting. Come on gang. Work those thighs.
Kate: Well, I will see you back at the crypt for dinner.
Chad: I'll tell my father you said hello.
Kate: Do. And let the games begin.
Clyde: Hey, I thought that was you.
Clyde: I had such a fine time with you last night. I hope you don't mind me asking for a little bit more this morning.
Jordan: Oh, my--ugh! [Sighs]
Chad: I believe this is yours.
Jordan: Thank you.
Chad: Are you okay?
Jordan: Yeah, uh, just clumsy.
Chad: No wonder. Jordan, your hands are shaking. Has that guy been bothering you?
Jordan: No, nothing like that.
Chad: Look, maybe you should sit down... have a cup of tea or...
Jordan: Oh, thanks, I-I should go. Thank you. Are you okay?
Chad: It's nothing... just a little tennis elbow.
Jordan: Mind if I take a look?
Chad: If you insist.
Jordan: I do. Have a seat. Okay. Let me see here. Does that hurt?
Jordan: Oh, sorry. Okay. How about that?
Chad: Aah. Yep.
Jordan: Uh, okay. And now?
Chad: Yeah, a little-- a little bit.
Chad: Hmm? What, is--is that bad?
Jordan: Puzzling. Either you have a case of tendinitis, bursitis, and a ligament strain... or a raging case of hypochondria.
Chad: [Inhales sharply] Yeah, yeah, busted.
Chad: I was hoping that I could maybe help you get your mind off of whatever was bugging you.
Chad: Maybe you will let me make up for my deceptive ways and buy you that cup of tea.
Jordan: Sure. Why not?
[Knock at door]
Abigail: Uncle Lucas.
Lucas: Hey, Abigail.
Abigail: Come in. I'm babysitting for Ari.
Lucas: Oh, okay, great. Kind of figured that.
Abigail: I'm so sorry to tell you this, but princess Ari is sleeping in the other room.
Lucas: Oh, no, she's down. I missed her.
Lucas: Well, maybe we can catch up, then.
Abigail: Yeah, absolutely.
Lucas: How's your mom doing?
Lucas: What about JJ?
Abigail: He's good too.
Lucas: Yeah? You look very content yourself. Nice.
Abigail: Well, I-I've had a lot of chances to catch up on my sleep since I am unemployed.
Lucas: Ooh, I'm sorry about that. You'll get a job soon. I'm sure. But thanks for being there for sonny and will in the meantime.
Abigail: Oh, of course. Absolutely.
Lucas: You know, I just came back from a not-so-great conversation with someone I should be getting along with, so... really, it was a big relief to know that you and will have buried the hatchet.
Abigail: Um, uncle Lucas, I wouldn't exactly say that. I'm here, and I'm happy to watch Ari whenever I can, but I still think that will is a complete jerk for what he did.
Will: So things are getting pretty serious with you and Abigail, huh?
Ben: What makes you say that?
Will: Well, you just said that she's amazing.
Ben: Did I?
Sonny: Yep, you did.
Sonny: You did say she's amazing.
Will: Yeah, that sounds pretty serious to me.
Ben: All right, stop.
Kate: Are you stalking me, Clyde?
Clyde: No, I was just walking through the town square minding my own business. I just happened to notice you talking to a handsome young fella. I would hate to find myself in competition with a DiMera.
EJ: So, by next week, I'll put the funds into an escrow account to cover the back taxes and the penalties. Now, listen to me. Your job is to persuade the district attorney that this is a good-faith gesture, okay? I want a deal in place before this goes to trial. All right, I'll be in touch.
Allie: I just need to get this off of my fingers.
Sami: Oh, sweetheart, be nice to your sister. Hey, Allie, this is beautiful. I think it's amazing. It's beautiful.
Johnny: What about mine?
Sami: Yours is great too, Johnny, I think it's awesome. What is that? Is that a-a squirrel?
Allie: Oh. Is that new?
Sami: Yeah, EJ gave it to me.
Johnny: Didn't you already have a wedding ring?
Sami: We did, yes, but your daddy and I decided to exchange new rings because we wanted to remind ourselves of how much we love each other.
Johnny: So now you're double, triple, quadruple married.
Sami: [Laughs] Yes, yes, we are. It's very cool.
EJ: Hey! Hi. Oh, it's good to see you. [Mouthing words]
Lucas: Abigail, will's been beating himself up ever since that article came out, and if he would have known that your name was gonna be in print, he never would have done that.
Abigail: You know what? It's not even that. It's-- never mind. You're his father. Of course you're gonna defend him, and it's fine.
Lucas: Well, you know what? If we went over the list of all the bad things I've done in my life, we'd probably be here till Christmas. The point is, nobody's perfect, okay? Me more than anybody.
Abigail: Believe me, I know that I'm not perfect.
Lucas: And you and will used to be very close.
Abigail: Yeah, we did.
Lucas: Yeah, and I'm just hoping you won't hold it against him forever.
[Door opens, keys rattle]
Kate: So how do you know Chad DiMera?
Clyde: Oh, I just met him yesterday. I assume that's DiMera, as in...
Kate: Stefano's son, EJ's brother.
Clyde: Oh, man, starting to sound like a godfather sequel.
Kate: No. Well, Chad is nothing like those other two miscreants.
Clyde: I never met 'em.
Kate: If I have my way, you never will. And if EJ could just disappear, life would be perfect.
Johnny: The three of us made this together.
Sami: What? Oh.
EJ: Oh, my goodness, look.
Johnny: It's us.
Sami: Johnny, I can see that it is us. It's perfect. I-I absolutely love it. It's the perfect gift.
Sami: You all are the perfect gift.
EJ: Amen to that.
Sami: Group hug.
Ben: Yeah, hi. I saw your online special. Um, it said in the ad you guys were having a deal. Can you tell me how much it is for one night? That's for one night? Uh, no, thank you. Maybe next time.
Sonny: Has Chad been in yet?
Ben: Nope. Haven't seen him since yesterday, when he came in to apologize for, what, calling me a liar, a thief, a dealer.
Sonny: So it doesn't sound like you bought his apology.
Ben: I don't think I should be talking to one of my bosses about my other boss.
Sonny: I'm just wondering if I'm gonna have to continue having a silent partner... or if he's actually gonna show up, pitch in, and help. I want you to know that you have my full trust. And whether he's around or not, you're here to stay.
Ben: Thanks, man. Uh, sonny? The other day when we played in that pickup game, Lucas said that Chad used to be a regular.
Ben: Okay, well, I wouldn't mind tossing a block or two on him next time we play, if you know what I mean.
Sonny: I do. I'm gonna make sure you're on my team.
Chad: You know, I actually really did have tennis elbow once.
Jordan: You play?
Chad: Uh, no, never.
Jordan: Well, maybe you were misdiagnosed. Did you lie to your P.T. About your symptoms?
Chad: Well, no, actually, I made the mistake of going to this M.D. For about two whole seconds, and he decided to give me a cortisone shot. The most painful experience of my entire life, I assure you.
Jordan: Oh, says the man who stepped in front of a speeding bullet to save his brother.
Chad: Yeah, which was nothing compared to tennis elbow. No, I'm--I'm serious. I mean, the pain when that doctor gave me the shot, it was like he had this evil look on his face the entire time like he--he was just enjoying it.
[Both continue laughing]
Chad: 20 minutes ago, and she ate all her breakfast, and she was the perfect angel.
Will: Thank you. Abigail... b-before you go, there's something that you should know. I'm writing another article. It's for Sonix, and it's about Chad.
Will: I could have turned it down, but that just means someone else would have written it. And whatever Chad wanted to say about you, it would be in print.
Will: I told Chad that if I write the article... that he's not gonna throw you under the bus, and I was smart. I have it in my contract that I get final approval over the edited piece. So I can guarantee that you'll be protected.
Abigail: Whatever. It's none of my business how you do your job.
Will: Are you on your way to see Ben? We were--we were just talking about you.
Will: He said you're amazing. And trust me, if a guy blurts something like that out in front of other guys, it means something. Right, Dad?
Lucas: Yeah, yeah, sure does.
Abigail: Are you done? 'Cause I'd really like to go.
Lucas: Aw, man. Don't worry about it, all right? She'll come around. As soon as you write that article about Chad, she'll be good. Did ZoŽ browning assign that to you?
Will: Yeah, she-- wait. How did you know that? I didn't even mention ZoŽ's name.
Jordan: Well, thank you again for the tea.
Chad: You feeling better?
Rafe: Hey. Chad... welcome home.
Rafe: Yeah. Yeah. Wow.
Chad: Uh, yeah, I was really sorry to hear about Gabi.
Rafe: Yeah. Yeah, me too, but you know what? She's--she's doing her best to be strong and make it through this and get home to her little girl...
Chad: Well, I'm sure she will.
Chad: Anyway, I was just about to leave. It's good to see you, Rafe.
Rafe: Oh, good to see you too, yeah.
Jordan: Thanks again.
Jordan: You know, I actually got to get going too. I got to get back to the hospital.
Rafe: Yeah, can I just, uh, have a sec?
Kate: This probably isn't a topic that I should get into with you. Anyway, I have to go. I have things to do.
Clyde: I understand. I'm sure you got some high-powered meeting to go to, but I just wanted to say what a great time I had last night.
Kate: So you said last night.
Clyde: I've never met one woman who seems to have everything a man could want in such a beautiful package. Now, if you were to hitch that wagon to a man who could match you tit for tat... you just imagine, ms. Roberts. We could rule the world... or at least this little town. You think about it.
Sami: All right, let's go! Come on, we got to get to school for--
Sami: What? Don't give me that "no." You're gonna see your friends. You're gonna get to play on the playground. We're gonna get ready for the new school year.
Sami: Yeah. Come on. EJ, let's go.
EJ: I can't. I have to wait here for a telephone call from Mr. Shin.
Sami: All right. Well, I'll take copious notes for you. Obviously we've been through that spiel so much, we could do it ourselves.
EJ: Mm-hmm. Yes, we could.
Sami: All right, who's ready?
Sami: Let's go.
EJ: Have a good time.
Johnny: Bye, daddy!
Both: Bye, daddy.
Johnny: Love you.
EJ: Love you. Okay, one, two, three...
Will: Dad, if you had something to do with my getting this job--
Lucas: No, no, I really didn't. I didn't. Zoe--she loves your work. She's a big fan.
Will: Well, then how did you know that--
Lucas: Well, I kind of ran into her at the pub, and I kind of took the opportunity to give her a piece of my mind.
Will: What did you say?
Lucas: I just said that I was glad that you weren't working for her anymore.
Will: Oh, God.
Lucas: But don't worry about it. Don't worry about it. She said your job was safe. She basically blew it off and then called your old man a horse's ass--that's it.
Will: I'm sorry. I-I should have told you. I just--I didn't think you'd approve.
Lucas: Oh, I'm not sure I do, so...
Will: I covered my butt, dad. It's gonna be fine.
Lucas: All right, if you say so, I believe you... as long as you don't write any exposes about your old man in the future.
Will: As long as my old man stays on my good side.
Lucas: Oh, I'll stay on a good side. It's the tickle monster again. He's always been on your good side.
Will: That--we've talked about that.
Lucas: Yeah, okay, sorry.
Sonny: Abigail Deveraux, right? I hear that you are amazing.
Ben: Are you ever going to let me live that down? My g--
Abigail: All right.
Ben: I'm glad you stopped by.
Abigail: I just came for coffee. Really, I can't stay. I am on my way to a job interview.
Ben: Cool. Where?
Abigail: I don't want to say. I'll tell you afterwards. I don't want to jinx it.
Ben: Well, I hope I don't jinx anything by saying I know it'll go great. And then maybe after, we can find a place where we can celebrate... I mean, talk about how your interview went.
Abigail: Yeah, yeah, that'd be nice.
Ben: And this time I'm thinking, even though I had an amazing time last night, we find a place that we don't have to share with 10,000 mosquitoes...
Abigail: Like where?
Ben: Or anybody else.
Ben: I'd rather not say. I don't want to jinx it.
Abigail: Well, I guess we both need a kiss for good luck, then.
Ben: Good luck.
Rafe: Yeah, don't worry. I get that you don't want to stick around and chat. It's just--there's something that you should know about Chad.
Jordan: You're not really gonna try and tell me who I should and shouldn't be talking to you, are you?
Rafe: No. No, of course not. It's just, um... word to the wise-- Chad, he comes off as a--as a nice guy, but he's... a DiMera.
Jordan: Hence the name Chad DiMera.
Jordan: Look, I've heard all about the DiMeras. I know about Stefano, what he did to you, how horrible that was. But I certainly wouldn't want someone to judge me or Ben on our family.
Jordan: So I would never do that to someone else. I judge people on how they act, how they treat me and the people that I care about. So, like I said, I got to get going.
Rafe: Right. Right.
Chad: Did you get my message?
Stefano: Indeed. I'm very pleased with your progress.
Chad: Kate is so desperate to get rid of you, she'll take everything I say on faith.
Stefano: [Laughs] Of course she does. Tell her that you have learned that I am flying to Frankfurt tomorrow.
Chad: That's it?
Stefano: That's enough. [Chuckles] She'll figure out the rest. [Laughing]
Chad: [Scoffs] You just keep laughing, old man. You'll never hear me coming.
Kate: That wouldn't be my partner, would it? I hardly recognize you, I see so little of you lately.
Sami: [Scoffs] I'm surprised your first question wasn't about your granddaughter, since she's just home from camp. She had school orientation this morning. Isn't that interesting to you?
Kate: Well, I know that she probably really enjoyed getting away, considering all the nasty tension that's been in the house, but, of course, that's different now, isn't it? Or is it?
Sami: My life is really good, Kate. I'm in a very good mood, and I'm not gonna let you ruin it for me. Have a good day.
Clyde: Thank you for meeting me. I was watching you when I was with Mr. DiMera earlier. You seemed to perk up when I mentioned all that cash being left on the table. Now, it's clear that you have earned Mr. DiMera's trust. I was thinking perhaps you could speak to him when he's in a more receptive mood. Or... maybe there's another way to skin this cat.
EJ: So you liked the proposal? Yes. Okay, fantastic. I will be in touch. Wonderful. Okay, bye-bye. Yes.
[Knock at door]
EJ: I'll get it, Harold. Mother.
