Provided By Suzanne
Will: [Sighs] I have to go.
Sonny: No, you're not leaving, not until we get this settled. I can't--I can't stand it anymore.
Sonny: Look, what you said earlier I thought a lot about. You were really hurt when I went behind your back, and I was wrong.
Will: You think?
Sonny: When I asked uncle Vic to find you something at TruVista, I should've been up front with you, and I wasn't. But I need you to understand why I did it.
Will: Oh, come on, sonny. I know why.
Sonny: You think you do, but this time, you're the one who's wrong.
Nicole: [Sighs] Oh. [Sighs] Excellent. This is not what I wanted to have happen.
Daniel: Here, I got it. I got it.
Daniel: Mm, no problem. Wow. You have a job offer from a station in Santa Fe? When are you moving to new Mexico?
[Knock on door]
You're under arrest for the attempted murder of john black. Turn around. Hands behind your back.
Theresa: No, no, I-I-- I can explain. I--
[Knock on door]
Anne: What are you, deaf? I'm, like, schvitzing like a pig out there.
Theresa: You brought champagne?
Anne: Oh, nothing gets past you, now, does it, sugarplum? Huh?
Theresa: What are we celebrating?
Anne: Heaven on earth, honey. Heaven on earth. The public humiliation of Abigail Deveraux and, by extension, her holier-than-thou mommy. You're not contagious, are you?
Anne: Oh, well, you left work sick, remember?
Theresa: [Clears throat] I'm shaking it off.
Anne: Oh, good. That's the spirit. Now, why don't you tell me why you really skipped out on work today, huh? Oh, come on, just tell me.
Theresa: Today is the day that they're shipping john off to the vegetable farm, and, Anne, until that happens, I don't want to be anywhere near that hospital. [Sighs]
Kayla: Marlena... a long-term-care facility really is the best option for john right now.
Marlena: I-I know. Well, my head knows that, but--
Eric: Wasn't Brady gonna consult with more specialists?
Kayla: I'm afraid that the specialists all agreed that we've done everything we could.
Eric: So that's it? I mean, doesn't Brady have the final say?
Marlena: Well, Brady-- Brady knows what's happening here today.
Eric: Then where is he, mom?
Kristen: Don't be such a moron. That's exactly what I want to hear. Well, then get on it right away, would you?
[Pounding on door]
Kristen: I got to go. Coming.
[Knock on door]
Brady: You bitch.
Nicole: Actually, this letter came out of the blue. Someone in Santa Fe saw a clip of one of my interviews and offered me a job.
Daniel: So when do you leave?
Nicole: Never. The money is lousy. Daniel... if I did leave... would you miss me?
Kayla: I think Brady is just trying to process what's happening. He'll be along.
Marlena: Kayla, I'm just gonna say this. What if I pay to keep john in the hospital, hmm?
Kayla: Marlena, I should've done a better job explaining this to you. To judge a head injury, doctors use what's called a GCS, which is a Glasgow coma scale, and the range is from 15 being the best to 3 being the worst. When john was brought in, he was an 11. By the next day, he was a 9. Yesterday his score was a 7.
Marlena: So what-- even if he stays in the hos--
Kayla: You know what? We are not gonna move him for a few hours, and actually, I was gonna do another GCS now. So, if you want to wait...
Marlena: Yes, thank you.
Eric: Is there anything I can do?
Marlena: Yes, there is.
Kristen: I can tell you're upset, but it's still really good to see you. Want to come in? Want to have a seat?
Brady: No, I'm gonna stand, okay?
Kristen: Okay. I didn't know you were keeping tabs on where I was staying.
Brady: Don't flatter yourself. I went to the mansion. They said you weren't there, and I figured you'd be here.
Kristen: Well, still you had to want to find me, right? Talk to me? Maybe see me?
Brady: No, that's the last thing I want, Kristen.
Kristen: Okay, well, then why are you here?
Brady: You want to get dressed?
Kristen: And then what-- we'll talk?
Brady: No, we're not gonna talk. I'm gonna talk. You're gonna listen. But right now you're gonna put some clothes on. Get dressed.
Will: I really don't think that we should deal with this right now, sonny. It might make everything worse.
Sonny: Nope, you're wrong again. Everything is gonna be worse if we don't deal with it head-on. Think about it. That's the only way we can make our marriage work.
Will: Okay. What am I wrong about?
Sonny: Well, there's two things.
Will: Now I'm wrong about two things.
Sonny: Possibly more. Okay, first, you said when I blew into town, what impressed you the most was how many things I got done on my own. I came out. I started a business. I climbed k2. I traveled the world.
Will: Well, you did.
Sonny: But not on my own. Somewhere along my journey, no matter what I wound up doing, there was someone there to give me a helping hand, okay? So maybe I went about it the wrong way with you, but that's exactly what I was trying to do for you.
Anne: Sweet pea, something is telling Anne that you're not giving me the whole truth and nothing but the truth with regards to this john black scenario. Now, if you're covering for Brady and that's what you want to do, that's your call.
[Knock on door]
Anne: But I think it would be better-- [Sighs]
Sign here, please.
Have a nice day.
Theresa: Thanks, you too.
Anne: Well, you either won a prize, or you're in trouble, and knowing you, I'm gonna bet on trouble. So do you want to read that alone? I could wait in the hall. What is it?
Theresa: It's my annulment papers. It's official. Brady and I are done.
Eric: Anything you need, just name it.
Marlena: Oh, first of all, I want to say that you can always say no.
Eric: All right.
Marlena: I know that you're thinking of going to Colorado or to Africa, and I understand that, well, you know, with all that happened with Nicole.
Eric: And now that Kristen's back.
Marlena: Right. So I was wondering if you would mind staying in Salem just a little while longer. That isn't what I mean at all. What I mean is, would you mind staying in Salem indefinitely? That's a lot to ask, isn't it? I know.
Eric: My plan was to put some real distance between me and everything that's happened this past year, although I would come back to testify against Kristen. Anyway, it's really what I thought would be best.
Marlena: Okay. I understand that.
Eric: But if you need me to stay, I'll stay.
Marlena: I need you to stay. Your sister needs you, and Brady needs you.
Eric: Then I'm here.
Daniel: No, I would not miss you if you left.
Nicole: Well, then I guess you will be disappointed to know that I am not leaving town.
Daniel: Okay, Nicole, I don't care one way or another what you do. We're not friends, remember?
Nicole: Oh, yeah, I remember. You remind me every chance you get. But you know what? Sticks and stones. Sticks and stones and cold shoulders and icy stares and-- you know what? Never mind. I'll stop bothering you. I'm so sorry that I'm not leaving.
Daniel: Actually, maybe you're right. I don't know. Maybe it is good that you're sticking around.
Daniel: At least you and Brady patched things up, and with Kristen back, you could use all the friends you can get, good or bad.
Nicole: Wow, I will savor those words, and you know what? Even without your encouragement, I would be there for Brady during this entire nightmare, aka Kristen DiMera the sequel. So you see? I don't abandon people I care about.
Kristen: Okay. All dressed. Let me start, please. I know why you're mad. Daniel told you that I went to see john, right?
Brady: Why the hell did you do that?
Kristen: Well, I didn't mean any harm at all.
Brady: All you do--no, no, no, all you do is mean harm, Kristen. Don't give me that. You ruin people's lives. In my family alone--Marlena, mine, Eric's, my father's. It's all over. You're not doing it anymore, okay? You are never to see my father again.
Kristen: Okay. That was easy, right?
Brady: Kristen, I'm not kidding around with you, okay? I got a judge to issue a restraining order. You can check with your lawyer, okay? But if you come within 100 feet of my dad, your bail will be revoked. You will go back to jail. Do you hear me?
Kristen: Duly noted. Mm, you want some water or something? Look, I can just see that you're really angry with me.
Brady: Angry doesn't-- angry doesn't cut it, Kristen. You make my-- you make my stomach turn. You make my skin crawl. I mean, just looking at you right now, I don't have a word to describe to you how much I hate you. You wrecked my life. Maybe worse than that, Kristen, you've wrecked my relationship with my father. You just severed it deliberately, and I'm partially to blame for it. But do you understand I'm never gonna be able to-- I'm never gonna be able to make that right with him?
Kristen: I know you hold yourself responsible for that, and I can see that you're in such agony.
Brady: I know. I am responsible for it.
Kristen: You're not, and this is what I don't understand. I read the paper. You're not responsible for it. What happened that night you fought with john?
Sonny: Look, I get it. You want to be independent. Who doesn't? Seriously, though, I accepted help from so many different people.
Will: Yeah, you say that.
Sonny: My parents gave me my first loan to start my business. I had a friend who actually tricked me into going to my first rock-climbing class, and then he kept pushing me further and further. And as far as being this badass who came out, it would've been twice as hard if my mom hadn't made it clear that being gay is perfectly cool.
Will: I wouldn't have minded having a little of that.
Sonny: Listen, if someone wants to give you help to get to the next level, does that mean that you're not good enough? If I've made you feel that way, I am so sorry.
Will: Okay, well, that's the first thing I'm wrong about. What's the second?
Sonny: I'll show you.
Anne: All of it for you. Just drink it. I mean, you must feel like you stepped into the biggest sinkhole of all time, right? I mean, to feel so disconnected from all that money, and to think that guy talked you into walking away with nothing.
Theresa: [Scoffs] You know, I was on top of the world when I married Brady. [Chuckles] And I had all these stupid fantasies, Anne-- you know, walk-in closets, servants, and buying whatever I wanted, kicking Maggie Kiriakis out on her sanctimonious ass.
Theresa: Old shrew. [Sighs] God, and then we got back from Vegas, and just everything went wrong. You know, john showed up, and... he spewed all this garbage. Attack, attack, attack. And then Brady had to hit him, you know, in self-defense.
Theresa: Do you know what the worst part was, Anne? I really liked being with Brady. [Sniffles] He has this great smile, and... he has this laugh. And his laugh would just make you want to follow him down the street, you know. But I'm stupid. I should've known it wasn't gonna last. Nothing good in my life ever lasts. It's fine. I, uh... [Groans] God, you--you've got to be kidding me.
Sally: So, when we went to commercial, I said, "miles, if you don't stop looking down my blouse, I swear to God, I'm gonna knock you to kingdom come." I don't care if he's the producer. A woman's got rights, you know, even the right to wear a low-cut blouse. Nicole. Who's the hunk? You know him?
Nicole: Former friend.
Sally: Is he mad at you?
Nicole: Well, let's put it this way. When he thought I was taking the job offer in Santa Fe, he said he wouldn't miss me if I left. That was a lie.
Sally: It was?
Nicole: Yeah, it's one thing to be mad at someone, but it's another thing entirely when you think you're never gonna see that person again.
Sally: Yeah, I get that, but if... what are you-- Nicole?
Nicole: Yeah, yes. It's perfect.
Sally: We're supposed to finish this.
Nicole: I know.
Sally: The news-- Nicole.
Eric: So my plan is to clear my name, make Kristen pay for what she did not just to me, but to you and Brady and john.
Marlena: John. You know, when everything is said and done... I think everything that happened to john is because of Kristen, because of her lies.
Eric: [Sighs] I hate that you have to go through this. I know john was the right one for you. It took me a while to accept that, but I did. I just wish there was something I could really do to make this better.
Brady: The last thing I'm gonna do is talk to you about what happened to my father.
Kristen: Well, I just don't understand. You and your father fought a lot, but usually it was because of me, and it doesn't make any sense that you'd still be arguing.
Brady: Did you not hear what I just said?
Kristen: You'd even moved on. You got married and everything.
Brady: It's none of your business, all right?
Kristen: It's okay. I know that it was just a rebound kind of thing and was kind of sudden--
Brady: Kristen, I'm not gonna talk to you about this.
Kristen: But this is my whole point, Brady, all right? You were making all these rash decisions, and you were rushing into things, and you were spiraling out of control with the drugs and the alcohol. And I was worried about you, and that's why I contacted Daniel. Do you see?
Brady: Hold on, hold on. You contacted Daniel? Is that what you call it?
Kristen: Oh, I know how he puts it. He's very dramatic about the whole thing.
Brady: You should've stayed the hell away from him.
Kristen: Well, I couldn't. I had to make sure you were okay. Now that I'm here, I can see that you're not. I can change that, Brady. I can help.
Sonny: Here you go. Remember this?
Will: Boy, do I. My first attempt at a blog page. Thank God I never published it.
Sonny: Why? Why did you not publish this?
Sonny: Well, you said that it needed some work, and then when I kept asking, you finally admitted that it really, really sucked.
Sonny: Yeah, well, I tried diplomacy first.
Will: I think I know where this is going. I accused you of not being honest about my writing.
Sonny: You know damn well I know the difference between good and bad, and the stuff you finally got published, the blog that ZoŽ browning saw, those were brilliant. That's why you got the job.
Will: That and uncle Victor making a call.
Sonny: Yeah, so what? He made a call, but you wouldn't have got past a quick read if your article wasn't good.
Sonny: You know, it really burns me that you don't understand how much I respect you and how much I love you. Now, I know I screwed up.
Will: Yeah, you did.
Sonny: Well, will you let me make it up to you?
Anne: Well, what the hell is going on?
Theresa: They put Brady's copy of the annulment papers in with mine.
Anne: Okay, so you'll put it in an envelope, and you'll just send it back to him.
Theresa: No, I'm just gonna go drop it off myself.
Anne: Maybe you should go when you're in a slightly better mood.
Theresa: No, I want to get it done today, okay? I just--I want Brady to get out of my life and his stupid father too.
Anne: Okay, all right.
Marlena: You know what? I can't keep watching this. All I think about is Kristen and everything she did.
Eric: Mom, why don't you go take a walk? I'm gonna stay. I'll text you if anything comes up.
Marlena: Would you? Thank you. I'll, uh--I'll get back to you. Thank you.
Nicole: Oh. For Pete's sake, I just can't seem to keep anything in my hands today. Well, that went well.
Brady: Seriously, you want to help? You want to help? Plead guilty... and give Eric his life back.
Kristen: I want to help you, Brady. I want to make things better for you.
Brady: You don't make things better. You make them worse, and everything you touch dies. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings. Oh, wait, wait, wait. I couldn't have hurt feelings, because you don't have feelings, and I learned that a long time ago.
Kristen: I know I made a lot of mistakes.
Brady: You call them mistakes!
Kristen: I told you in the park that I wanted to make things right, and now I know how.
Brady: You know how. Here it comes, right? Here comes the pitch. Tell me. Tell me the story that you-- how are you--you know what? I don't want--I don't want to listen to this--
Kristen: Wait a second. I wasn't gonna tell you anything. I wasn't gonna say anything, but... please, just give me five minutes, and I can explain. Please? I promise you. You won't regret it.
Sonny: Okay, I tried. No forgiveness. Got it.
Will: Wait. You don't understand. You don't have to make it up to me, because there's no reason you should. We've both made mistakes.
Sonny: No kidding.
Will: And I know that you did everything that you did because you love me. Hell, I've always known that. It's just I get insecure, and I lash out, you know?
Sonny: It's no problem.
Will: God, I called you a glorified barista.
Sonny: I said you were desperate for attention and enjoyed destroying your mom and EJ.
Will: Well, you're actually pretty dead-on with that. Listen to me. No matter what, no matter how mad I was, I never stopped loving you.
Sonny: Back at you.
Anne: Excuse me. I was summoned.
Daniel: I just left a note that said "please see me."
Anne: And here I am... seeing you.
Daniel: I would like you to consider someone for the college intern program.
Anne: Oh, let me guess-- another freaking Horton, perchance?
Daniel: No, it is Paige Larson-- premed, very qualified, so please don't hold it against her that I'm making the recommendation.
Anne: Oh, now, why would I ever do that? Oh. Oh, well, I'll be gosh darned. Now, that's Theresa's niece. This is JJ's little girlfriend.
Daniel: Yes, very qualified.
Anne: Yeah, or maybe you've decided the best way to score points with Jennifer is through her son.
Daniel: No, I am just trying to help someone because they deserve it.
Daniel: No agenda, really.
Anne: So sweet Jenn's never gonna hear a word about this?
Daniel: Okay, Anne.
Daniel: If Paige doesn't get this internship, I am going straight to the board.
Anne: [Sighs] I'll look into it.
Daniel: Thank you so much.
Daniel: [Exhales deeply]
Kayla: Should I ask?
Daniel: Please don't. Please. What's up?
Kayla: I'm sorry to barge in, but I had to see you. Actually, there's something that you need to see.
Nicole: Come on, Eric, will you? I can't wait around here forever.
Eric: Thank you very much. I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
Nicole: Oh! I am such a klutz today. Sorry, I--
Eric: They've offered you a position in Santa Fe.
Nicole: Yeah. What can I say? One of my segments went national, so they decided I should be part of team Santa Fe. It's an amazing offer, really.
Eric: So you're leaving Salem? Nicole, that's terrific.
[Knock on door]
Marlena: Kristen, open up. I know you're there.
Brady: [Sighs] She's here. Same psycho, same hotel.
Marlena: And what the hell are you doing here? I thought you were gonna stay away from her?
Brady: I just came here to give her a little warning, and now you're here to witness it. Stay away from my dad, or you're gonna go back to jail. Are you gonna be all right with her alone?
Marlena: I'll be fine. It'll be short and sweet-- not so sweet. I hope I didn't spoil whatever you had planned by showing up unannounced.
Kristen: Not at all. Your timing couldn't have been better.
Nicole: I guess I didn't realize you wanted me gone so badly.
Eric: I'm sorry. I've just been thinking about leaving town myself. I mean, it seems logical not having to see each other on a regular basis.
Nicole: Where were you planning to go?
Eric: Nowhere now. My mom asked me to stay. With all the business with john, Sami, and Kristen, she needs me. But if you're heading to Santa Fe, I appreciate your taking a step. It's something I never could've asked for.
Eric: I assume this has to do with me at least partially in mind.
Nicole: Damn it, Eric. I never said I accepted the job. I just said it was an amazing offer.
Eric: I'm so sorry. I just jumped to the wrong conclusion.
Eric: You planned this.
Nicole: [Sighs] Excuse me?
Eric: You were trying to manipulate me.
Nicole: Oh, my--
Eric: You never stop, do you?
Daniel: Well, I tend to check my email just before I'm ready to leave.
Kayla: Yeah, but this can't wait. It's important. Wait till you see it.
Theresa: Oh, hey. I hope it's okay. Henderson let me in. They sent both copies of the annulment papers to me, and I was just leaving you a note, but-- I should go now. I'm sorry. Hey, Brady.
Theresa: Hey, hey. You okay?
Kristen: Would you like a drink?
Marlena: No, I would not.
Kristen: Okay, well, I'm sure you don't mind if I do. I don't know what it is. Whenever you're in the room with me, my throat gets so dry. It must be all the love.
Marlena: You are mighty chipper for somebody who's gonna spend the next two decades in prison.
Kristen: Oh, that didn't take long, did it? The imperious tone, the self-righteous attitude. I think I've missed you.
Marlena: Well, we haven't missed you... least of all Brady. I suppose it was clear after your chat with Brady that he will never forgive you.
Kristen: We'll see.
Marlena: Wow. You really are delusional.
Kristen: Oh, Marlena, I know that you have a deep loathing for the idea that somewhere, someday, someone might actually be happy, but I try to look past that.
Marlena: So you're insane. Yes, and what about all the pain and heartache you've caused him?
Kristen: I've caused him? I've caused him? You're the one that showed the video to the church full of people. You're the one that publicly humiliated Brady on his wedding day.
Marlena: For the love of God!
Kristen: You ruined his life. You decimated his life. Do you have any idea what that did to me, Marlena, to see him spiraling out of control with drugs and alcohol? And I couldn't help him. I wanted to reach out to him, and I couldn't.
Marlena: What is this? You want me to feel sorry for you? Is that it? 'Cause you know damn well that you're responsible for everything that happened to Brady, and thank God he is getting his life back in order.
Theresa: Brady, that was--
Kristen: Marlena, although it's always so much fun to listen to your various pronouncements, could you please just say what's on your mind and get the hell out?
Marlena: Mm-hmm. Well, I was watching someone I love, someone that you've destroyed, and it occurred to me that I should come by and tell you in person that I will do whatever it takes to make you pay.
Kristen: To make me pay. It's so funny hearing that, 'cause it's always about making me pay. When do you pay? And I'm not just talking about hurting Brady by showing that video to everybody. I'm talking about what it did to your son Eric, 'cause that was really such a shame--
Marlena: Oh, don't pretend to care about Eric. Are you serious? You only care about one person, and that is yourself. You are selfish to the core, and you're evil, and that's why you lost Brady, and that's why you lost john.
Kristen: As I said, such a shame. Poor father Eric, he was such a terrific priest. Although, I have to say, after that night in the hotel with him, I'm sure he was--
Marlena: You disgusting bitch, you cost him his vocation. He's an innocent man, and you destroyed his vocation, and you did it just to hurt me.
Kristen: I know I did. I can see from the look on your face it still causes you pain. That makes me so happy.
Marlena: All right. You can take your cheap shots. I know it's all you have left, because you've lost. Brady wants nothing to do with you. Your own brother, EJ, has abandoned you. And when your case goes to court and the judge sends you to prison, I'll be sitting in the front row, cheering, because I will know you got exactly what you deserve. It's for all the people you've hurt, especially it's for hurting john.
Kristen: You know, it's funny you should mention john's name. I mean, really, he's the one that started this whole chain of events, isn't he? Guess what. He's gonna be the person that ends it.
Sonny: Hey, you know what?
Sonny: That was our first big fight as a married couple.
Will: And we made it through it. Maybe we should celebrate.
Sonny: What do you have in mind?
Will: Hmm, let me think. Um... how about...
Nicole: Eric, really, I-- for Pete's sake, I just dropped a piece of paper. How is that manipulating anything?
Eric: You dropped it for the second time. You wanted me to read it, and what, did you want me to, like, cry if you left town? You want me to fall on my knee and beg you to stay?
Nicole: No, of course not. It was just--
Eric: You just can't help yourself, can you? Just you and these new schemes, new ways to trick people into making things go your way. There's no room left for honesty in your world, is there, Nicole? Well, let me give you some free advice. I want you to take that job. I want you to move to Santa Fe. No one wants you here.
Daniel: This just came in out of the blue?
Kayla: Yeah, and I emailed to you immediately. What do you think?
Daniel: It's unbelievable. Think it'll work?
Kayla: Seems like it.
Daniel: Well, if it does, it'll change everything.
Marlena: Look, I don't know what kind of a sick plan you have in mind, but I should tell you something. If you go near john... I will kill you.
Kristen: But as usual, you don't have a clue. I'm not here to hurt john. I'm here to save him.
