Episode #12405 ~ Will & Sonny argue over the article; EJ confronts Sami over her treatment of Abigail; Ben helps Abigail.
Provided By Suzanne
Lucas: So basically it was a good trip. And Sheryl says to say hello.
Jordan: Oh, you saw Sheryl. That's good.
Lucas: Yeah. Yeah, that's about all she had to say that wasn't business.
Jordan: Oh, I'm sorry.
Lucas: Well, except to give you and Rafe her very best. What? What, did I say something wrong?
Jordan: There is no me and Rafe anymore.
Ben: Rafe... I owe you an apology.
Clyde: Well, thank you for coming out to meet me, Kate.
Kate: Yes, well, I am pressed for time, though. So you said you wanted to discuss some business?
Clyde: I do like the way you get right to it.
Clyde: It's the sign of a good businesswoman. Yes, ma'am. I am interested in setting up some business here in Salem myself. And I think you're the only person in town who can point me in the right direction.
Will: Sonny, what's wrong?
Sonny: How the hell could you do that, will?
Will: I don't know what you mean.
Sonny: The adjustments, in your article?
Will: Oh, I took the editor's notes. It was the only way to make the cover.
Sonny: Well, congratulations. There's your name on the cover.
Will: Well, what was I supposed to do?
Sonny: Have some integrity.
Will: Well, I mean, the notes were actually pretty relevant. The article's in much better shape now. Sonny, what's bugging you so much?
Sonny: You haven't figured it out yet? I understand you love writing and you're ambitious, but I didn't realize you'd sell your soul.
Jennifer: I don't understand. How could things get worse?
Abigail: It's all going public now.
Abigail: An article came out in truvista. It names me as the woman who had an affair with EJ DiMera. [Sighs]
Sami: Well, it's not very flattering. [Scoffs] I'd rather be Hillary than Monica. Now little miss Abby Deveraux can answer for herself.
EJ: Samantha, what have you done?
Sonny: Why did I let this happen? I knew it was trouble. I should've stopped you from writing it in the first place.
Will: Oh, no.
Sonny: This is my fault.
Will: Oh, my God. Abigail's name is in this.
JJ: Will wrote this?
Jennifer: No, there has to be some mistake.
Abigail: No, there's not. He called me to tell me that he was writing it. He just didn't say what it was about.
Jennifer: I cannot believe that will would do this.
JJ: That S.O.B., man.
Jennifer: How could he do this? How could he write this about you? This is cruel. You're his cousin. And I'm not trying to defend Sami, but she doesn't even deserve this. How could will write this about people he is supposed to love?
Sami: [Clears throat] What do you mean?
EJ: I just got off the telephone with Wei shin.
Sami: What are you talking about? You're not supposed to be talking to the board. That's not okay, EJ. You're not--
EJ: Well, I am... from what I hear.
EJ: He called me, Samantha, so don't worry. We made a business deal a few months ago. He wants to call me to tie up a few loose ends...
EJ: And also to congratulate me on our wedding. He's very happy. I don't know if you knew that. He's particularly pleased at the way you and I are working so well together in all areas.
Sami: Of course I'm going to say that. It's the same thing you said to him when you were on the phone with him a couple days ago.
EJ: Well, things are going a lot better than I thought, apparently.
Sami: Well, that's just for show.
EJ: You told Mr. Shin a lot more than you needed to just to give him the impression that we have a happy home.
Sami: We have to keep up appearances.
EJ: Do we?
EJ: Why don't we stop trying to make things look good? Just give me one more chance, Samantha. That's all I'm asking... just one chance.
Lucas: [Clears throat] Look, I'm really sorry. I'm sorry that things with Rafe are so bad.
Jordan: Not bad--over.
Lucas: Well, I mean, I just left. It seemed like things were going great between you two.
Jordan: Yeah, well, I thought so too, but...
Lucas: So what happened? Wait, wait. This doesn't have anything to do with the fact that EJ and Sami broke up, does it?
Jordan: No, it has to do with Rafe sleeping with your mother again.
Rafe: Nah, you don't owe me a damn apology. You don't owe me anything. But like I said, if someone had treated my sister the way I treated yours, I'd have done the same thing.
Ben: Oh, I'm not sorry I hit you... just the way I did it. I lost control, man. I have a temper, and I have got to learn to just keep a lid on that.
Rafe: Yeah. Yeah. [Chuckles]
Ben: That's all.
Rafe: Hold on a second, Ben. I want to ask you something... about your father.
Kate: So what is it that you're looking for, Clyde?
Clyde: Let's call it referrals.
Kate: You need business contacts.
Kate: Mm. What kind of business are you starting up?
Clyde: Well, it's more of a carry-over than a start-up, so I need some help with staffing.
Kate: Okay, I see. Well, then you need some advice about hiring. I could have you talk to one of my H.R. People at DiMera. I will call my assistant and let her know that you'll be in touch.
Clyde: I'd much rather talk to you, Kate.
Abigail: I am more worried about the people that I love. Mom... listen, I am so sorry.
Jennifer: No, honey, don't--
Abigail: This is going to make your life miserable now at the hospital with Anne Milbauer and Theresa--
Jennifer: Don't even give that a thought.
Abigail: And then once the printed edition comes out, it's going to be even worse. You know what we have do?
Jennifer: No, you just need to calm down.
[Door opens, slams]
Abigail: Should I go get him?
Jennifer: No, he's just blowing off steam, baby. He's protective of you.
Abigail: Mom, this isn't his fight.
Abigail: No, I don't want him getting into trouble because of my mistakes. [Sighs]
Will: No. No, no, no. Why would ZoŽ do this? Why would she do this without asking me?
Sonny: Wait. Are you telling me it wasn't your adjustments that landed you the cover?
Will: No! I would never do this-- something like this to hurt Abigail.
Sonny: It wasn't you? Who did--who sent--
Sonny: [Scoffs] That's unbelievable. So they can just put your name on it, you're responsible, and they don't even ask you? You didn't even get a chance to approve this?
Will: The article should not have happened.
Sonny: How did they even get her name? How'd they get Abigail's name?
Will: I-I have no idea. I never even said Abigail's name, let alone wrote it. I don't know how ZoŽ could've thought--
Will: Mom. It was my mom.
Sami: Look, we're in the same room together, and I am not throwing things or setting the house on fire.
EJ: That's a start.
Sami: It is not a start of anything, all right? That's it. That's all you're going to get.
[Cell phone ringing]
EJ: Samantha, do you know anything about an article in truvista?
EJ: I'm going to have to check it out.
Sami: No, I'm working.
EJ: You're reading it already.
Sami: Well, it's nothing to worry about. It's just...
EJ: Who wrote this?
Sonny: Your mom outed Abigail?
Will: It had to be. Do you remember when she came in here all mad? She had just met with the editor. Zoe must've given her a chance to comment for balance, and... she must've outed Abigail out of pure vengeance.
Sonny: Oh, my God. It's all making sense. Of course she did. Will, I am so sorry. I should've known--
Will: Yeah, you should've. I can't believe that you thought I would do something like this. What makes a woman beautiful?
Lucas: W-wait a second. There's no way that Rafe would do that again. He wouldn't sleep with my mother. Come on, she's probably just pushing your buttons and messing--
Jordan: He admitted it.
Lucas: I'm sorry. I... I thought that, um... well, I thought you and Rafe had something very special.
Jordan: Yeah, so did I. Uh, look, I got to get going. Thanks for the coffee.
Ben: I don't talk about the old man.
Rafe: Yeah, I get that neither one of you likes to talk about Clyde, but Jordan wanted to tell me about him. In fact, she kept trying. So I feel like there is something for me to know.
Ben: Why? Because you think that'll just get you and my sister back together? Because it won't.
Rafe: Yeah. Listen, I care about her... a lot. And, yes, when we were talking, I felt like I was making some headway, but the minute your father's name came up... [Snaps fingers] She shut down. Why is that?
Ben: Maybe she didn't want to give you the chance to hurt her again.
Kate: I'm trying to help you, but personnel is not my area.
Clyde: Well, I think you're being modest, Kate. I'm sure you were paying close attention when you were married to Stefano DiMera.
Kate: What about Stefano, Clyde?
Clyde: Not the man himself-- his associates. I'm sure you could point me to some discreet professionals that could help me out.
Kate: And what would you need these discreet professionals to do exactly?
Clyde: Just a little work off the books.
Kate: That's not very specific.
Clyde: We don't need to get bogged down with specifics, Kate.
Kate: Yeah, well, how do you expect me to help you if I don't know what you want?
Clyde: Distribution. It would help if some of them had good people skills, you know, knew how to manage a crew. You understand? I knew you would, Kate.
Abigail: JJ says that he's taking a walk and not to worry. Do we believe that?
Jennifer: We have to. He knows better than to do something stupid.
Abigail: I bet you said the same thing about me too.
Jennifer: Honey, don't, okay? That doesn't help.
Abigail: It's like it's all back in my face again. I'd actually thought I was starting to see daylight, you know, like the worst was over and that my life was gonna get better.
Jennifer: This is not going to change that. No.
Abigail: Of course it is, mom. Come on. You have a career in P.R. You used to be a reporter. You know what happens now.
Jennifer: You're right. And I know what to do, and I know how to fight this.
Abigail: Well, what about Anne Milbauer and Theresa and--
Jennifer: Oh, please. Honey, you know what? They just annoy me, and Kayla will keep that in check. What I need to do is call the hospital and see how far this has gotten. And with any luck, we'll just have a couple hours to figure out what to say.
Abigail: Mom... I'm so sorry.
Jennifer: Honey, stop it. You made a mistake. It was not your decision to broadcast it to the world. You are not to blame here.
Sonny: You said you made adjustments to the article. I see it. I see Abigail's name. Why wouldn't I think it's you?
Will: Because I have a shred of decency. Do you really think I would do anything to get on the cover?
Sonny: Not anything, but...
Sonny: Well, it's the truth. Abigail slept with EJ, so I thought maybe you were convinced.
Will: [Scoffs] What is the one thing that I've been saying this whole time? That I would never hurt Abigail. Do you think I'm that desperate?
Sonny: I'm sorry.
Will: Yeah, sorry doesn't fix anything.
Sonny: Look, I know you worked really hard on this article. This is important to you. It's a big break. So I thought if the editor said you either put Abigail's name in it, or we kill the story...
Will: And you know what I'd say? I'd say, "go ahead. Kill the story." [Scoffs] You don't believe me, do you?
[Knock at door]
JJ: Hey, you son of a bitch. What did my sister ever do to you?
Sami: Okay, just give it to me.
EJ: What the hell are you doing?
Sami: I need to put this in context.
EJ: "Context"? What are you talk-- did you know about this?
Sami: I did.
EJ: Please do not tell me that you have something to do with this article.
Sami: No, not like that. But I did find out about it, and I did everything I could to try and stop it from being published.
EJ: Stop right--what did you--did you bribe somebody? Oh, Samantha, please don't tell me you tried to bribe the publisher. There are other ways of dealing with a situation like this.
Sami: You couldn't have stopped it either.
EJ: You have no idea. I could've stopped it like that.
Sami: Well, it's too late. It's out now.
EJ: You weren't even going to tell me, were you?
Sami: Please, you couldn't have stopped it either. And, you know, since I found out it was going to be published, I had a lot of work to do. Excuse me.
EJ: So you called the board?
Sami: Every member. And a lot of our major investors as well. I called everyone overseas last night, and I called all the stockholders this morning.
EJ: And what exactly was your spin on it?
Sami: Basically just that it was a sensationalized version of what was essentially a corporate transition and that Kate and I have always had the best interests of the company at heart, especially when we took over.
EJ: So wait a second. The boardroom maneuver is in this article?
Sami: Oh, yeah, along with some personal details about us.
EJ: Oh, I see. That explains--now I understand why Mr. Shin is suddenly so interested in our marriage.
Sami: Indeed, and he expressed to me that our reunion will go a long way towards comforting the board. And he assumed we were back together since he spoke to you the other day.
EJ: Right, so you let him believe that.
Sami: Of course I did. I don't want him focused on what Kate and I did. He'd lose sight of the big picture. And since you're okay with everything...
EJ: Am I?
Sami: And we're at peace... I was able to prevent an emergency board meeting.
EJ: For now. It would have been nice to have had some idea about the information in hand, Samantha.
Sami: You think you deserved a warning, really?
EJ: Oh, I know that you don't think I deserve any consideration whatsoever. But as I am going to get some telephone calls about this, a heads-up would've been nice.
Sami: I was busy dealing with the fact that this was coming out. I had a lot of calls to make and fires to put out. You would've done the exact same thing.
EJ: Would I? Would I really? So tell me, did you--did you get all of these fires out?
Sami: I did. Obviously, they haven't read the article yet. So I'm assuming I'm going to have some follow-ups to deal with.
EJ: Judging by the look on your face, I shudder to think about what might be in that article.
EJ: I'm just going to go upstairs and read it. If there is any inaccuracy in this, any mistake, I am suing their asses.
Sami: It's all true... well researched and-- well, I hate to admit it--well written.
EJ: "By William Horton." Your son wrote this.
Sonny: Will didn't name your sister.
Will: I've got this.
JJ: Oh, do you? Your name is on this piece of garbage. Did you write it?
Will: I did. But I never used Abigail's name, not once.
JJ: So they went out and dug it up?
Will: It doesn't matter how it happened. The damage is done.
JJ: It sure as hell is. You didn't even make it hard for them to figure it out.
Will: I tried to protect Abigail.
JJ: "The young woman in question worked at university hospital. She was a close friend of the family who frequently spent time with the DiMeras and their children." You wrote that?
Will: Yes, but you have to--
JJ: Now, how frickin' hard is it to get to Abigail from that?
Will: Her family and her friends already knew that it was her.
JJ: Well, how about acquaintances from school, people from the hospital, freaking Theresa Donovan, people on pal page? Now, how the hell do you think you can put this out there and not expose Abigail to the entire world?
Rafe: Hey. Got your text. Welcome back.
Lucas: What were you thinking?
Rafe: Hmm. You heard.
Lucas: Yeah, a woman like Jordan comes around, what, once in a lifetime? How could you blow that?
Rafe: I don't know, okay? I don't know. It was stupid. I wish I could take it back, but...
Lucas: Well, that's not gonna work, but you might be able to repair the damage, maybe.
Ben: Hey. I just saw--
Jordan: Hey, have you read this?
Jordan: Abigail's pal page. People are saying horrible things about her.
Ben: I've got to go.
Kate: This conversation is over.
Clyde: Oh, now, Kate, come on.
Kate: Look, I have been polite to you. You don't know many people in town, but, uh, done.
Clyde: I have made some friends. I'm meeting new people all the time, like Rafe... you know, Jordan's boyfriend. He's a friend of yours too, isn't he? [Chuckles] We have so much in common.
Kate: [Chuckles] Rafe is not going to be hanging out with you.
Clyde: Well, I heard that he and Jordan had some problems, and I would love to help out with that. I'll bet if Rafe and I sat down together, he'd tell me exactly why they broke up. And I'd tell him exactly how you and I met... how you were so concerned... about Jordan... that you tracked me down in poplar bluff.
Kate: Clyde... [Chuckles]
Clyde: But then again, I wouldn't even have to speak to Rafe if you help me out.
Kate: I'll be in touch with your referrals.
Clyde: That is so very nice of you, Kate. I look forward to working together. Who knows what we might accomplish?
Rafe: Well, I would love to repair the damage, but I'm pretty sure that Jordan has to be willing to speak to me for that to happen.
Lucas: Well, yeah, that would help.
Lucas: But you know what? She didn't seem that mad, so maybe there is a chance.
Rafe: You saw her?
Lucas: Yeah, I just saw her, and she was, uh...
Lucas: I don't know. She was just kind of resigned about the whole thing. She seemed really... sad.
Rafe: Sad. Yeah.
Lucas: I'm just saying, you know, if I were you, I wouldn't give up.
Clyde: Hey, there, darling. Hey. I'm sorry to hear about your friend Rafe.
Jordan: That's none of your business.
Clyde: Sweetheart, are you always gonna be so hateful to me?
Jordan: Oh, you earned it.
Clyde: Well, I certainly did, but I'm doing everything I can to dig myself out. I was even thinking that maybe you, me, and your brother ought to talk to someone.
Jordan: "Talk to someone"?
Clyde: Yeah. I hear there's a real good lady shrink at the hospital, if you'd be more comfortable with a woman.
Jordan: Unbelievable. [Scoffs]
Clyde: Well, darling, don't knock it till you've tried it. It's been very helpful to me. And I'd be willing to air the family dirty laundry if it would help us put it all behind us.
Jordan: Do you really think I would ever be able to put what happened behind me?
Kate: Hello, sweetie. Mwah. I'm so glad that things went well in Houston. How'd things go with Sheryl?
Lucas: Sheryl hates my guts. It was a barrel of laughs. Thanks. What about you? Anything new in your life... besides your big corporate takeover?
Kate: Oh, my God. I am so busy...
Kate: So busy.
Lucas: Too busy to break up Jordan and Rafe? Really? You're not busy enough for that, are you? I cannot believe that you did that. It's unbelievable. It's not enough that you have to kill every relationship that I get into. No, no. Now you got to branch out, right? I mean, it's like you're only happy if everyone you truly care about is miserable.
Will: I am so sorry that I hurt Abigail.
JJ: Then why did you write the thing to begin with?
Will: To protect her from my mom.
JJ: Oh, oh, like this? You know, I am not one to talk about hurting a mom. And I hate what Sami has done to Abigail, but this is a hell of a thing to do to your own mother, who you claim to love. You know, I'm lucky enough that my mom and I have been able to get past all the things that I have done to her, but I don't see how you can get past this. No, this really sucks, will.
Jennifer: Okay. Yes, Maxine, thank you so much. All right. I'll see you later. Well, Maxine obviously has not heard a word, so it's not out at the hospital.
Abigail: But it's out.
Abigail: Pal page.
Abigail: They're saying really ugly things about me, mom. You don't need to see this.
Jennifer: Well, neither do you. I am blocking your page right now.
Abigail: Mom, they're just going to write it somewhere else.
Jennifer: Well, you don't need to be looking at it. That's the point.
[Knock at door]
Jennifer: Don't even think about it. You stay right here.
Jennifer: Ben, hi.
Ben: Hey, can I see Abigail?
Jennifer: Yes, please. Come on in.
Ben: Hey, are you okay?
Abigail: You saw the article?
Ben: How could will do that to you?
Jennifer: Yeah, that's what we'd like to know.
Abigail: I'm just so embarrassed. Look, if you need to keep your distance right now--
Ben: Abigail, stop. I'm not going anywhere.
[Knock at door]
Jennifer: Oh, gosh. It's starting. There's a photographer and a reporter at the door.
Abigail: Okay, great. Let's just get this over with.
Jennifer: No, not yet. Come on, come with me. We're not going to do anything until we figure out what we're gonna say. Listen, if you go out the kitchen door, next to the garage, there's an alley, and you can't see it from the front because of the hedge.
Ben: You know how to sneak out of your own house?
Jennifer: Look, I was a teenager once. Can you please just get Abigail out of here?
Ben: Yes, yes, sure.
Abigail: Wait. Stop, mom. I'm not ducking and hiding.
Jennifer: You're not ducking and hiding. You are just not home right now. Please, just keep her out of sight.
Ben: I know how to do that.
Jennifer: Okay. Just a couple hours until we can just wrap our head around this, baby.
Ben: Your mom's right.
Abigail: Okay, fine. Okay. Thank you, mom. I'm gonna go get my purse.
Jennifer: Abigail, please, hurry.
Ben: Let's go. Let's go.
Abigail: Thank you, mom.
[Knock at door]
EJ: So is this why you sent the children to camp? Well, thank you for that, I suppose. This is certainly a side of William we haven't seen in quite some time.
Sami: Well, now, wait a second. I mean, we don't know all the circumstances. It's his first job for them. I mean, maybe they didn't give him a choice.
EJ: He had a choice.
Sami: It was his big break.
EJ: Oh, it was his big break, was it? Do you have any idea how much damage this is going to do to us? And poor--
Sami: Say it! Oh, yeah, you say it. Say her name-- poor little Abigail. So, duke, what do you think of our new bush's baked beans video game?
Kate: And for the record, I did not break things up between Rafe and Jordan.
Lucas: You don't think sleeping with him had anything to do with that? Really?
Kate: No. No, if things were good between them, it would never have happened. It was mutual, Lucas.
Lucas: How drunk was he?
Kate: Okay, that's so rude.
Lucas: But it's true in this case, isn't it, mom? Of course it is. It's all coming back to me now. It was the night that Rafe was upset about Gabi. He was drinking a little bit too much. You got rid of me just to take advantage of him. Unbelievable.
Kate: Okay. So that is not how I saw it. And that's not the way Rafe saw it either.
Lucas: Just do me a favor and leave him alone. Let Jordan and Rafe work things out on their own. Come on.
Kate: [Scoffs] Well, that's not happening.
Lucas: You know what, mom? They had something good. They had something really good. And I don't think either of them wants to give up on that.
Ben: It is pretty far out of the way, but if you want to be inside, we can go to my place. It's not that neat.
Abigail: No, no, no. This is not how or why I want to see your place.
Ben: How are you doing?
Abigail: [Sighs] I'm--I'm embarrassed... every second. But I'm not going to hide. The only reason why I left is because my mom begged me.
Ben: She's looking out for you.
Abigail: I could handle that reporter.
Ben: Yeah, you could. In fact, maybe he's the one who should worry.
Abigail: Yeah, maybe. But I don't want you to worry about me. I just hate how hard this is going to be for JJ and my mom.
Jennifer: Could you just please leave?
Did you know about your daughter's affair with EJ DiMera?
Jennifer: I am not going to answer your questions.
We need a shot of the girl.
Jennifer: You are on private property uninvited, and I did not sign a release.
You just became public figures, ma'am. Can you address rumors that Abigail is pregnant?
JJ: Hey. What the hell?
You're a Deveraux?
Jennifer: I am going to call the police. Just leave.
JJ: Uh, you heard my mom.
Look, you'll have to talk sooner or later. We're giving you a chance--
JJ: I'm giving you the chance to leave with your teeth!
Jennifer: JJ, don't say that.
JJ: You heard my mom. This is private property. Step off!
We'll be right over there when you change your mind.
Jennifer: Just lock the door quickly.
JJ: I'm sorry that I left you alone with that.
Jennifer: No, I've handled worse than that.
JJ: I-it's a mess.
Jennifer: Oh, gosh. Every time I think things are calming down for us...
Will: What I don't understand, ZoŽ, is how you can make such an important change under my byline without talking to me. No, Abigail's not a minor. No, Abigail's not a crime victim. It's--it's-- well, I mean, I'm glad we're getting a good response, but... look, I'm dealing with some fallout. Right. No, no, no, no. I-I get it. I get it. Okay, will do.
[Cell phone clatters]
Sonny: Well, you sure told her.
Will: What was I supposed to do, yell at her?
Sonny: For starters, yes.
Will: She was very apologetic, Sonny. And besides that, she's my boss. She said that she intended to call me before the article went live, but she got sidetracked. There was a family emergency.
Sonny: Oh, one of those things. Right. Yeah, I hate when that happens.
Will: Okay, you know what? Will you just try to cut the woman some slack, Sonny? She was already unhappy with me for--for trying to keep Abigail's name out of it. And so then when my mom went and named her name, she couldn't in fairness leave it out. And besides, it's her call to make.
Sonny: [Sighs] Okay. It's done. I'm sorry for what I thought, and I know you're sorry for what's happened.
Will: Thank you.
Sonny: For what?
Will: For not telling JJ that it was my mom who outed Abigail.
Sonny: No, that'd make everything worse.
Sonny: Hey, hey. We're gonna get through this. I'm gonna go down to the club. I think it's best for you just to lie low.
Will: Yeah, I'm not gonna pick up any phone call unless it's Abigail. There's no point in going head-to-head with mom. It never works out well.
Sonny: Mm-mm. See you later.
Sami: Say it.
EJ: The situation is damaging to everyone.
Sami: Yeah, especially to poor little slutty Abby, right? That was the first name out of your mouth, the first person you're thinking about?
EJ: That's not what I said.
Sami: If it weren't for poor little slutty Abby, if you hadn't had sex with her, none of this would've been happening.
EJ: You know what I'm concerned about? I'm concerned about you. I'm concerned about our family. I'm concerned about the entire company!
Sami: I'm lucky I'm even on that list. You know what? I was thinking--
EJ: Do not blow this out of proportion.
Sami: Tell me I'm overreacting--I dare you.
EJ: You don't think it's a little incongruous that you're attacking me when it's your son--your son who has sabotaged this entire family.
Sami: Oh, please! You're the one-- you don't get to talk about what will did after what you did. You have absolutely no right. Go! Go to your little slut! I'm getting a restraining order!
Abigail: [Sighs] What?
Ben: [Scoffs] You. A lot of people would crawl into a hole to get away from this. I've spent my whole life running.
Abigail: That's totally different, Ben, unless-- I mean, if you're saying that you want distance, I--
Ben: No. No, no, no. No way.
Abigail: Hey. There's a lot of people that when they're just getting to know someone would run from a train wreck like this.
Ben: I am not going anywhere.
JJ: At least no one's going to jail.
Jennifer: There's that.
JJ: Abigail's tough, mom.
Jennifer: So are we.
JJ: You are, anyway. You know, that reporter looked scared of you.
JJ: No, he did.
Jennifer: Well, you can see what you want to see. But the truth is, they don't care that I'm mad or that I'm tough or however they perceive me... 'cause they are gonna pounce on this with a vengeance, and they are just gonna put our whole family under a microscope.
JJ: Let 'em... 'cause Abigail and I have you on our side, and I'll take those odds.
Ben: You are anything but a train wreck.
Abigail: Wow. That's the nicest compliment anyone's ever given me.
Ben: [Laughs] Sorry. That did come out kind of lame. I know.
Abigail: Just a little.
Ben: What I should've said... is that you're an amazing person, Abigail. And I feel lucky just to be around you. Just don't ever put yourself down like that again, okay?
Abigail: Well, I can't make any promises, but...
Ben: All right, well, then at least not when you're around me, because I will not allow it.
Abigail: Yikes. Okay, I don't want to get on your bad side.
Ben: Good. Then you'll go along with this great idea I have.
Abigail: I guess I have to.
Ben: Mm-hmm. So I came here the other night just to kind of hang out, you know?
Ben: And I sat over there by that little pond next to the hiking trail. I looked up at the stars for a while. And the whole time I was just thinking... "I wish Abigail was with me."
Ben: Really. So how about we go over there right now? Hmm? Unless you're not into stargazing.
Abigail: Please, stargazing-- that used to be my favorite pastime.
Abigail: Yeah. You know, if you are trying to distract me, you're doing a very good job.
Ben: Mm, good... because I like distracting you. I like doing everything with you. So how about we go take a little tour of that park? We'll check out the pond, the stars, and then by the time we've completed our little tour, those reporters will have gotten tired of harassing your family, and they'll be gone.
Abigail: Yeah, I-I like that plan.
Ben: Good. Let's go.
Abigail: Okay. Ben...
Kate: You know, I think you should spend a lot more attention on your son's life rather than Rafe's love life.
Lucas: Why, mom? What's going on with will now?
Kate: Well, why don't you check out the latest issue of truvista online, find out for yourself?
Sami: Please, just tell him that it's Samantha DiMera, that I am trying to reach him. I'm pretty sure he will know what's it about. Thank you.
Sonny: Boy, did you do a number on your son.
Will: Abigail, I have left ten messages. Please call me back. Let me explain.
[Knock at door]
Will: Thank God. Abigail, listen, I--
Will: I don't have anything to say to you.
