Episode #12401 ~ Sami & Will have a confrontation over his article; EJ warns Kate that Stefano may be after her & Sami.

Provided By Suzanne

Sami: So, um, who wrote this? It's certainly thorough. And it starts off flattering enough.

Zoe: It's actually a new member of our staff.

Sami: Really? Wait. "Samantha DiMera is my mother." Will wrote this? He works for you?

Zoe: [Chuckles]

[Doorbell rings]

Sonny: Must be the takeout.

Will: That was quick. I'll go pay. How much? Uh...

Adrienne: [Chuckles] Uh... bad time?

Ben: So what did you want to tell me when you came in?

Abigail: Oh, right. Uh, yeah, I-I wanted to tell you that I-I spoke to your father just now.

Ben: What?

Abigail: Yeah.

Ben: What did that bastard say to you?

Abigail: Whoa, Ben. Don't get upset.

Ben: I swear, Clyde came to Salem just to ruin our lives.

Abigail: Ben, you probably don't want to hear this, but I don't think that's what he's trying to do at all.

Jeremiah: You sure it's a good idea to expand our business to Salem?

Clyde: I thought you said you could handle the run from poplar bluff.

Jeremiah: I can.

Clyde: Well, good... 'cause my family's here, and I don't plan on losing them again.

Rafe: I'll go.

Jordan: Rafe, wait. Look... I'm not sure what I want. But I hate the way that this has hit me. And I'm used to being in control of my feelings, but I was just so unprepared for what happened.

Rafe: I am so... [Chuckles] I got--I just got to stop doing that... apologizing over and over. They're just words, just words that don't mean anything.

Jordan: They mean something to me.

Zoe: Will is a tremendous addition to our staff. He's really quite talented.

Sami: Oh, yeah. No, I definitely agree. I just can't believe he didn't say anything to me about this. He must have wanted to surprise me.

Zoe: Well...

[Both chuckle]

Sami: Couldn't have come at a better time.

Zoe: Why is that?

Sami: Um... well, it's just I'M... I'm just dealing with stuff, you know. But this is really uplifting. [Chuckles]

Kate: What does that mean, Sami needs to realize how much she stands to lose? Are you talking about your storied love affair, because that is long over if it ever existed.

EJ: I'm not talking about me, Kate. I'm talking about my father.

Kate: Yes, well, everyone knows he's a crusty old bastard. That's why I told her not to incite him any further.

EJ: Right, because stealing the company out from under him, that wasn't enough?

Kate: Mm. Well, you know, he needs to understand that that is just business.

EJ: Except when it's not.

Kate: Well, unfortunately, hell hath no fury like Samantha Brady scorned, and she does seem to really favor a take-no-prisoners approach when it comes to anything DiMera.

EJ: You know, you might want to have a little heart-to-heart with you friend, because if Samantha continues down this road, you're both going to end up with nothing.

Kate: I can handle Stefano.

EJ: [Chuckles] You give yourself too much credit, Kate. What you and my wife have done... you went too far this time. And you know what happens when you push my father. He pushes back... hard.

Ben: You're not defending him again.

Abigail: No, I'm not, and I wasn't defending him before either. Look, Ben, what your father put you and Jordan through, it was awful, and I don't want to get in the middle of this. I just think I should tell you what he told me.

Ben: That's my point, Abigail. You can't believe a word that comes out of Clyde's mouth.

Abigail: Maybe you should hear what he said before you make that call, Ben.

Kate: I know your father better than anyone, even you.

EJ: Yeah? Then you know how he feels about loyalty. When you cheated on him with Ian, you remember how that turned out.

Kate: Not so badly for me.

EJ: What about for Rafe? You remember what my father tried to do to him when he found out you were sleeping with him.

Kate: Yes, well, thankfully, I had the foresight to give Sami that gun.

EJ: [Chuckles] All of that is child's play compared to what he is going to do to you if you continue to escalate this situation.

Kate: So what are you telling me, Elvis, that your father is going to take out a hit on me and your precious Samantha?

EJ: What do you think?

Adrienne: [Chuckles]

Will: Sorry. I thought you were our takeout.

Adrienne: Oh, gosh. I'm--I'm sorry. Maybe--maybe I should have called first.

Sonny: Hey, that's okay, mom.

Adrienne: Hey.

Sonny: We were just celebrating will's good news.

Adrienne: Really? Well, what is it? What--what good news?

Will: Well, everyone's going to find out soon anyway, um, but keep--keep it to yourself.

Adrienne: Oh, no, no, no, no. My lips are sealed. What is it?

Will: My first article's about to be published.

Adrienne: Oh, will. Oh, will, honey, that's wonderful. Oh, God. Your parents must be so proud.

Will: Actually, they don't even know yet. So, please, don't tell them.

Adrienne: Oh, no. That shouldn't be too difficult since your mother and I are barely on speaking terms. [Chuckles] So what's the article about?

Sami: I'm just--I don't know. I can't believe my son wrote an article about me. It's--it's just really moving.

Zoe: Mrs. DiMera, I do have time constraints, so if you could finish reading the article...

Sami: Of course. I'm sorry, yes. I mean I'm dying to know what he wrote about me. Oh, my God. There is no way my son wrote this. [Scoffs]

Ben: All right, tell me. What did Clyde say?

Abigail: Well, he said that he was sure I had heard terrible things about him from you.

Ben: Yeah, and he wanted to "set the record straight," right? [Scoffs] Damn him.

Abigail: Ben, all he said was that everything you told me was true. That he was a lousy father to you and Jordan, and he didn't blame you for running away after the way he treated you.

Ben: Wow. So he admitted all that?

Abigail: Yeah.

Ben: What's the catch?

Abigail: What do you mean?

Ben: The only reason Clyde talked to you is because he wants something.

Abigail: Like what? Hmm? All he said was you have every right to hate him and that I shouldn't blame you for being so angry.

Rafe: I know that words can't undo the hurt that I caused you.

Jordan: But if you mean them...

Rafe: I do. Jordan, I do. I can't stand the fact that I wasn't the one to tell you the truth or that we haven't had time to talk or... no... I'm glad you have your brother here to lean on.

Jordan: Even though he tried to beat you up.

Rafe: Well, I deserved it. Listen, obviously, I know how he feels about me. I'm sure your stepfather feels the same way.

Jordan: I don't care what Clyde thinks.

Jeremiah: Guess it's time for me to head back to poplar bluff. I was just wondering... this guy, the guy that helped put our team together... how do you know him?

Clyde: She's the one who found me.

Jeremiah: "She"?

Clyde: [Chuckles]

Jeremiah: You mean that classy broad came all the way down to poplar bluff just to see the likes of you?

Clyde: Oh, yeah. Not only is she a fine-looking lady... she is very well connected.

Kate: I'm not afraid of Stefano.

EJ: Then you are a fool.

Kate: I'm not a fool. And you're not a fool. And you betrayed him, and you lived to tell the tale, no?

EJ: I'm a DiMera. You're not. Now that Rafe has moved on, I don't think he's going to mount some manly defense in your honor.

Kate: I don't need anyone to protect me. And for your information, Jordan and Rafe are no longer together.

EJ: That's irrelevant.

Kate: Yeah, well, you just said--

EJ: Well, even if he were duty-bound to want to protect you, you know as well as I do, my father's going to find some way to make him impotent.

Kate: And say Stefano gives him reason to ride to the rescue of your dear Samantha.

EJ: She's my wife, Kate. She's the mother of his grandchildren. Now, she may have danced on his grave, but he's obliged to show her a little bit of mercy. You, on the other hand... he loved you.

Kate: So?

EJ: So he thought you were on his side. He thought you were going to come back to him, and instead you betrayed him, and you made a fool of him. Somebody is going to pay. Now, it might be Samantha who's doing all the pushing, but that somebody is going to be you.

Kate: Well, he hasn't done a thing yet.

EJ: That's not to say that he won't. In fact, I have been wondering why it's taken him such a long time to get you out of the picture.

Kate: Oh, I think I know the answer to that.

Sonny: My mom is going to have to wait and buy a copy herself.

Adrienne: Well, I'd love to, if you'd be kind enough to tell me the name of the magazine I need to buy.

Will: It will be in the next issue of true vista. Excuse me.

Adrienne: Oh, my God. I love that magazine.

Will: It's so good.

Adrienne: It is. Wait a minute. Isn't that--that magazine published by--

Sonny: Oh, a great publisher who loves will's writing.

Adrienne: No, but the company is owned by--

Sonny: The company does a lot of--lot of other magazines.

Adrienne: Well, yeah, but--

Sonny: Can you do me a huge favor?

Adrienne: Huh?

Sonny: Can you bring this to club TBD? Ben will know what to do with the deposits.

Adrienne: Sure, sure. Okay. Okay, I-I was just--I was hoping to see Arianna.

Sonny: Oh, well, mom, she's sleeping, so...

Adrienne: Oh. Oh, okay. Great. Will, congratulations.

Sonny: Thanks, mom. I will--I will call you later.

Adrienne: You better. Mm-hmm. [Chuckles] Mm-hmm.

Sonny: So can we get back to celebrating?

Sami: There is no way my son wrote this.

Zoe: Oh, he wrote every word. I'm just here to do a little fact-checking.

Sami: But it's all...

Zoe: Too true?

Sami: Okay, please... you can't publish that. I will pay you to make sure that you don't publish that.

Zoe: Mrs. DiMera, I can't do that. I just wanted to be fair and give you an opportunity...

Sami: Fair?

Zoe: To see it before it went to press.

Sami: It is a hatchet job.

Zoe: Well, if you have any comments or would like to elaborate on anything discussed in the piece, then, by all means, give me a call.

Sami: No. I have comments, and they will be heard.

Rafe: Jordan, hey, I didn't mean to upset you.

Jordan: It doesn't matter what my brother or Clyde think about you. The only thing that matters is--

Rafe: Is us. It's us. Listen, I know I'm going to have to work hard to get you to trust me again, and--and it's going to take a long time for you to forgive me, but, please, just give me a chance. Just--

Jordan: Oh, stop. Stop. I-- I think this was a mistake.

Abigail: It's been a long time since you and Jordan left home. You know, sometimes people do change.

Ben: [Scoffs]

Adrienne: Ben? Ben, hi.

Ben: Hey.

Adrienne: Just the man I'm looking for. Hey, sweetie, how are you?

Abigail: Hi.

Adrienne: Um, sonny asked me to give this to you, said you'd know what to do with it.

Ben: Yes, thank you. I should actually go take care of this right now, but I'll catch up with you later.

Abigail: Uh, yeah, okay.

Adrienne: Oh, thank you. Thank you so much. Hey. So how are you?

Abigail: Uh, I'm, you know, okay.

Adrienne: Uh-huh. I know we haven't had much of a chance to talk since Sami declared world war iii--

Abigail: Aunt Adrienne, you know, I really--I'd rather not talk--

Adrienne: I know, but I think we need to.

Kate: You know, it's funny. Stefano calls me thrice daily to rant and rave, and as displeased as he is...

EJ: "Displeased"?

Kate: I still detect adoration in his voice for everything Samantha and I were able to accomplish.

EJ: You keep dreaming, Kate, because your life is about to become a nightmare.

Kate: No, I don't think so. I think Stefano has much bigger problems than his two wildly successful co-CEOs. In fact, I think he's lucky, because he is going to have plenty of time on his hands now to deal with his prodigal daughter and her return, which reminds me--shouldn't you be at the jail bailing her out?

EJ: I'm not lifting a finger to help Kristen.

Kate: Since when?

EJ: She deserves to pay for what she did to Eric and Brady.

Kate: Really? Have you spoken to Stefano about that? What does he have to say?

Will: You sure got your mom out of here in a hurry.

Sonny: Are you complaining?

Will: No.

Sonny: Uh, we left the glasses in the bedroom.

Will: I will get them.

[Knock at door]

Will: It's the food.

Sonny: Good, 'cause I am starving.

Sami: You, you put him up to this, didn't you? (Announcer) are you dealing with hot flashes during menopause?

Sonny: What happened?

Sami: What happened? I just got to meet ZoŽ browning from true vista magazine. Yeah, I got an early look at will's article about me. Lizzie Borden would have come off sounding better. You realize that, right? I just can't wrap my head around the fact that will would write something so horrible about me. Did you and he both just feel so horrible about what was happening to poor, little Abby? Did you put him up to it? I mean, you must have--

Will: No, he didn't, mom. In fact, he tried to talk me out of it.

Adrienne: I know you think this is none of my business.

Abigail: No, uh... you were right about EJ. I know that now.

Adrienne: I just hope you understand that I was concerned, and that's why I went to your mother when I saw you with EJ.

Abigail: Yeah, I know. I don't--I don't blame you, aunt Adrienne.

Adrienne: Oh, honey, I blame myself.

Abigail: For what?

Adrienne: After you laid into me, I--

Abigail: By the way, I'm really sorry about that.

Adrienne: No, no, no, no. I wanted to prove to you that I could give EJ the benefit of the doubt instead of paying attention to what was really going on.

Abigail: And what-- you thought you could save me from myself?

Adrienne: From him, yes.

Abigail: No. Uh, by the time I talked to you, it was already too late.

Adrienne: Oh, my God. And then I meddled again. I blindly suggested you go to EJ's house to bake cupcakes with his son.

Abigail: Yeah.

Adrienne: Can you ever forgive me?

Rafe: What are you talking about? What--what's a mistake-- us talking, us trying to get through this? And if we--if we try and we don't get through this, then at least we did try. I mean, if we don't then that's the mistake.

Jordan: I'm not sure about that.

Rafe: Jordan... I know you're hurting right now. I know that it's got to be terrifying for you to put your heart back out there again. I'm not asking for a decision right now, okay? I just... just promise me you'll think about it, okay? I'm not going anywhere. You mean more to me than anything in this whole world. I hope to see you soon.

Clyde: Hey, Ollie, I got a text from Ben. Almost didn't reply before I remembered "hey, that's my boy." To what do I owe this honor?

Ben: I want you to stay the hell away from Abigail. Do you understand me?

EJ: No, my father understands exactly why I washed my hands of my sister.

Kate: [Sighs] Because Samantha demanded it.

EJ: No. Because I have had enough of her wreaking havoc on my life.

Kate: So, it seems Stefano will be responsible for saving his daughter from herself. That sounds like a full-time job to me.

EJ: Well, don't think he's going to take his eye off the big prize--the company-- or the target you put on your back.

Kate: Tell me, what do you think the rest of the board would think if a terrible fate were about to befall the two women that Stefano put in charge?

EJ: Oh, you know the board. They're only interested in the bottom line.

Kate: Yes, which we improved considerably.

EJ: Yeah? How far you think that's going to get you?

Kate: You said they're only interested in profits.

EJ: What about the others, my dear?

Kate: What others?

EJ: The men you haven't met yet... the men who are just shadows in the dark.

Kate: What are you talking about?

EJ: The companies that you and my wife stole from my father and me and so unceremoniously dismantled... they have a number of, uh... silent investors. Now, if you were to meet these men, you'd probably describe them as being rather unsavory types, and they are very, very unhappy with what you and Samantha have done.

Kate: I see.

EJ: I don't think you do. See, my father's done a very good job of keeping these people at bay. But if they don't get what they want soon, they will do his dirty work for him. You sleep well, Kate.

Sami: [Scoffs] I mean, I just really can't believe it. I can't believe that my son would write something so mean and--and nasty and--

Will: And true? Every word that I wrote is true, mom. The mean and the nasty-- that's just you.

Sami: You made me sound like a narcissistic, vengeful bitch.

Will: I'm sorry you feel that way, but I think I took a pretty measured approach.

Sami: In the first three sentences, maybe.

Sonny: I need to run to the club--something I forgot to do.

Will: You don't have to go.

Sonny: Yeah, I do. All right, good luck.

Sami: Look, I get it. You're upset. But what you did, writing that article... I guess I just didn't realize that you hate me that much. (Vo) if you have type 2 diabetes,

Clyde: I don't respond to threats, especially not from my boy.

Ben: It's not a threat. I'm just telling you... I don't want you anywhere near Abigail.

Clyde: Ollie--

Ben: Ben.

Clyde: Ben, you best get that temper under control, son. That's the only reason I talked to Abigail in the first place.

Ben: Yeah, right.

Clyde: I could see she didn't like the way you treated your daddy. That angry side you showed her, that scared her, son. But I told her you have every right to feel the way you do.

Ben: Yeah, no kidding. And then you took the opportunity to go on and tell her about how much you've changed, right?

Clyde: With the hell I put you and your sister through, I don't expect you to believe me. But the God's honest truth is, yes, I have changed... for good.

EJ: Yes, so, as soon as we have the new product and the employees in place, we'll be open for business. All right, good. Listen, just keep me informed, okay? All right.

Abigail: Of course I forgive you, aunt Adrienne. You didn't know. How could you have?

Adrienne: No, but I knew something wasn't right. I was just so afraid of being the nosy aunt or overstepping, the way everyone always says I do.

Abigail: No, you didn't. You didn't, okay? I-I was ashamed of myself, and I took it out on you.

Adrienne: Well, I wish I had taken the opportunity to remind you of all the terrible things that EJ and his family have done to all of us.

Abigail: Well, I'm pretty sure you mentioned a few. It's not like I could forget. It's just--I just persuaded myself that it was all in the past.

Adrienne: EJ is in the past, though, right?

Abigail: Yes. Yes.

Adrienne: Ben Rogers--he seems kind of nice, you know, decent...

Abigail: Yeah.

Adrienne: Hardworking, easy on the--oh, my gosh, you're blushing.

Abigail: Am I?

Adrienne: Yes. [Laughs]

Abigail: Oh.

Adrienne: It is so nice to see you smile again. Now, you tell me if that Sami tries to bother you again, though.

Abigail: You know, if Sami comes after me again, I think I can take care of her myself. Oh, excuse me one second. Hey, do you know where Ben went?

He left a little while ago.

Abigail: Oh. Thanks.

Sonny: Mom... still here.

Adrienne: Mm-hmm.

Sonny: Thank you for bringing the deposit in.

Adrienne: Sure, no problem.

Sonny: I'm going to get back to work.

Adrienne: Not so fast. Don't you think you owe me an explanation? Hmm?

Will: I don't hate you, mom. I tried to talk to you, but you wouldn't listen to me. You wouldn't listen to anyone.

Sami: Because the only thing you or anyone else wanted to say to me was how much little Abby was suffering.

Will: That's not true.

Sami: Yes, it is. She lied to me for months. She pretended to be my friend. She was baking cupcakes with my children while she was busy--

Will: Sleeping with your fiancť. We know, mom, we know.

Sami: Yeah, yeah. No, sorry.

[Arianna fusses]

Sami: Sorry I'm a little upset about that, will. But the truth is, worse than what she did, is you, my own son, taking her side.

Will: Listen to yourself. You're doing it again.

Sami: What? Sorry, what am I doing again-- calling it like it is?

Will: You're making it impossible to help you.

Sami: Is that what you were trying to do--help me?

Will: I tried to get you to talk about how you felt. And I never defended what Abigail did, but it's what you did next-- just being obsessed, this obsession with revenge on EJ and Abigail.

Sami: Oh, I'm sorry. Did you think that I was going to curl up in a little ball, the fetal position, crying my eyes out? Yeah, get to know me. I'm Sami DiMera, and I don't play victim.

Will: Oh, yeah? Mom... well, why don't you take a look in the mirror? Because that's what you've been doing since the moment you found out.

Sami: [Scoffs] No, no, I haven't, and you're kind of wrong about this. I haven't be moping, laying around feeling sorry for myself, expecting sympathy from anyone, not that anyone offered it. I've been taking charge, taking over a company, and building a future for my children.

Will: While tearing down Abigail's.

Sami: It is not my fault that she violated the conditions of her employment. You can't blame me.

Will: Oh, come on, mom. Have you spoken to grandma Marlena about any of this?

Sami: No. Why would I?

Will: 'Cause I think maybe it might help you to feel better if you talked it out.

Sami: Oh, come on, will. You know why I have those issues with my mother. But I did think that you and I had worked through our issues. How could you write such a scathing article about me?

Will: It was an assignment.

Sami: No one held a gun to your head.

Will: It's a cover story, mom. It's a big deal.

Sami: So that's it? It's okay to throw your mom under the bus, just as long as you get to see your name in print?

Ben: And what changed you after all these years, Clyde?

Clyde: Losing you and your sister. It made me take a real hard look at myself. I finally realized I needed some help. [Chuckles] So I went to therapy, and I worked real hard at it, too, because you and your sister mean everything to me... even if I don't mean anything to you.

Ben: If you really cared, you'd go away.

Clyde: All I ever wanted was you to find true happiness. You look like you're doing real well for yourself.

Ben: [Scoffs] Gee, thank you.

Clyde: That Abigail's a fine catch. And your sister's got that nice detective. What?

Ben: Nothing.

Clyde: I thought Tammy s-- Jordan was crazy about that detective--Rafe. Something happen?

EJ: Mind if I join you?

Rafe: Doesn't matter.

EJ: Um... [Clears throat] I'll take a whiskey. Make it a double, would you? Thank you. I was sorry to hear about you and Jordan.

Rafe: Whatever.

EJ: Look, I-I really couldn't help but wonder... whether the split was about Samantha.

Rafe: I beg your pardon?

EJ: I mean, just whether or not you broke up with Jordan because of what happened between me and Samantha.

Abigail: Jordan.

Jordan: Hey.

Abigail: Hi. Hey, I hope that you and Rafe had a chance to talk.

Jordan: Well, we tried.

Abigail: But?

Jordan: Well, I wasn't expecting to run into him. So, when he was standing there in front of my face, everything I wanted to say went away, and all I could think about was that he'd been with Kate and--

Abigail: I'm probably the last person that you want to talk to about this.

Jordan: No. It's nice to talk to somebody. I'm just so confused. I mean, how can I still love him after what he did.

Abigail: Because I think you know that Rafe never wanted to hurt you.

Jordan: He told me so many times, so many times how it was over with Kate, how he never loved her, how it was only me.

Abigail: You did say he was drunk, right? And--and he was a total wreck after what happened with Gabi.

Jordan: Yeah, but--

Abigail: I know, just--Jordan, I-I don't think the issue with Rafe is love. Isn't this really about trust?

Sonny: An explanation about what?

Adrienne: The fact that you gave me the bum's rush before I could mention that Victor owns the company that publishes true vista magazine. What, does will not know that?

Sonny: Uncle Vic doesn't like people knowing he's in charge of that publishing house. I'm surprised you know.

Adrienne: Only 'cause your father did some work for them. Why would you care-- sonny, you got will that job, didn't you?

Will: Do you think that was easy to write?

Sami: Well, I don't know. You didn't seem to have any trouble churning out a very high word count.

Will: There were a couple times where I almost had to call my editor and tell her that I couldn't write it. But then you kept taking things farther and farther.

Sami: So you got a twofer, huh? You get your name in print, and you get to teach me a lesson, huh?

Will: I warned you to back off of Abigail, but you just kept going at her harder. And then you went after Adrienne. How could you--how could you tell her that aunt Kayla was having an affair with Justin?

Sami: I was trying to make a point.

Will: Which is when I realized that I needed to make a point of my own.

Sami: Will...

Will: I'm sorry that you're upset, mom. But people needed to know what actually happened. Now they will. Living with chronic migraine

Ben: I didn't come here to talk about Jordan.

Clyde: I know. You came here to tell me to stay away from your pretty little girlfriend.

Ben: You're going to stay away from Abigail.

Clyde: Before you get more riled up, I'll tell you what. I'll make you and your sister a deal. All I'm asking for is a chance to spend some time together. Then you can judge for yourself whether or not I've changed. You give me that chance, I'll stay away from your friends.

Ben: Clyde, I'm not--

Clyde: And I do wish you could find it in yourself to call me "dad."

Ben: That's not happening.

Clyde: [Chuckles] All right. But you heard my offer, son. Give it some thought.

Jordan: You're right. It is about trust, but how can I ever get past this?

Abigail: I don't know. Look, this may sound totally lame and kind of insensitive, but is it possible that maybe this was supposed to happen?

Jordan: What do you mean?

Abigail: I just mean maybe-- maybe this was a test, you know. And it's going to make your love even stronger.

Jordan: How?

Abigail: When I think about Sami and EJ... he really does love her. But instead of trying to make things work, Sami went all ballistic and lashed out at everyone she cares about. You're not like that, Jordan.

Jordan: But I'm not a doormat either.

Abigail: No, no, no, of course not, no. I just mean if... if you and Rafe still really do love each other, then wouldn't it be such a shame to throw it all away just because he made one terrible mistake?

Rafe: You really are a horse's ass.

EJ: [Laughs] Oh, I see.

There you go.

EJ: Jordan's the one who did the dumping, huh? Well, I'm sorry.

Rafe: Well, thank you... for your phony concern

EJ: Oh, come on, Rafe, look at the bright side. For once, you and I share something in common.

Sonny: Uncle Vic may have put in a good word, but if the editor didn't respect will's writing, she never would have asked him to do a cover story.

Adrienne: Well, then why keep it a secret? I mean, you do realize eventually he's going to find out Victor owns true vista.

Sonny: Yes, but if it happens after he's established and he's got some good feedback, then maybe it won't be so bad.

Adrienne: Sonny, sonny, look, I know your heart's in the right place, and I'm sure will will be grateful eventually. [Sighs] What's the article about?

Sonny: Sami and EJ and the truth about why Sami took over DiMera enterprises.

Adrienne: Why would will want to write about that?

Sonny: It's an assignment. He felt like he couldn't turn it down.

Adrienne: And I suppose he wrote the truth, the whole truth, so help him God? Oh. Forget about will finding out you got him the job. You better pray Sami never does.

Sami: What happened to my sweet little boy?

Will: I guess I grew up. But, mom, don't you see? This isn't about us.

Sami: Yes, it is. Remember that night you came to confront me about Abby? You know what you threw in my face? That time you walked in on me with EJ.

Will: Yeah. After you called Abigail a whore for the fifth time.

Sami: This isn't about her. This is about you and me. This is about how I fought for you your entire life... how I've always done everything I can to protect you and now your daughter.

Will: And I appreciate that, mom--I do.

Sami: No, you don't. Look, I realize I've made about a billion mistakes raising you, but I loved you unconditionally. And I was always willing to risk anything and everything to help you. And what you did writing that article... you basically threw that love and that sacrifice back in my face. And right now I hurt because I know someday you will realize what a huge mistake you have made. You will forever regret writing what you did.
