Provided By Suzanne

Brady: Oh, God. [Sighs]

Aiden: Get yourself a couple tickets. You will not be sorry.

Maybe I'll go alone, see where the night takes me.

Aiden: That works too. Okay.

Theresa: Watch where you're going.

Aiden: I am so sorry.

Theresa: These took me forever to get in order.

Aiden: Um, here, let me-- let me help you with that.

Theresa: [Sighs] Oh, well, if you insist.

[Phone vibrates]

JJ: What the hell do you want?

Daniel: How are you, buddy? Huh?

Parker: [Laughs]

Daniel: Did you have fun at your mom's? Yeah? What about your afternoon with grandma and grandpa?

Maggie: Parker wanted to go swimming, but I told him that daddy was going to come and pick him up real soon.

Victor: And you did.

Daniel: Yes, I did. And I got a surprise for you. So maybe we better get going home.

Victor: And tomorrow, we'll have dinner on the patio, and maybe you can go for a little swim. How's that?

Maggie: So is tomorrow-- you know, is it all good for you and Jenn?

Daniel: I'll, um... I'll have to check, yeah.

Jennifer: I'm just so glad that you're here now.

Hope: Yeah, so am I.

Jennifer: Let me get this...

Hope: Is this an intervention?

Jennifer: What?

Hope: Why in the world are you looking at photos of eve Donovan? She's nothing but a very bad memory. Don't look back, cuz, ever.

Eve: Oh, Paigey.

Paige: [Laughs]

Eve: I have missed you so much.

Paige: Me too, you. Mom, why didn't you tell me you were coming early?

Eve: Well, sweetie, I didn't know if I was gonna get on the next flight. But, you know, it worked out. Everything is working out.

[Both laughing]

Paige: So did it feel like coming home?

Eve: Well, you know, something like that. But I can tell you this much. Now that I'm back in Salem, I am staying... for good.

[Both laughing]

Paige: Come here.

Aiden: Okay, so I went with alphabetical.

Theresa: That'll work.

Aiden: So am I forgiven?

Theresa: Ah, who could stay mad at those dimples, hmm?

Aiden: I could give you that list.

Theresa: Alphabetically?

Aiden: Well, you might have time for a through h, and that's if you have all day.

Theresa: Ah, I don't buy that. You're way too charming.

Aiden: It's a clever mask.

Theresa: Hidden motives?

Aiden: All over the place. In fact, I have a proposition for you.

Brady: [Sighs] "Don't forget, big meeting first thing this morning. See you later. Love, Theresa." Big meeting. [Scoffs] Big meeting.

Paige: What?

Eve: You... seem different. I mean, something is really different here.

Paige: [Laughs] It hasn't been that long.

Eve: Come here. Come here. Let me get a good look at you. Now, get over there.

Paige: Seriously?

Eve: Yes, get over there. Now turn around. Turn around. Turn around, okay. I know what it is. I know what it is. It's the confidence. Mistress of the universe, take charge.

Paige: Oh, my God. I'm not--

Eve: [Laughs] You are. You are a powerful young woman, who's ready to take life by force with a roar.

Paige: That sounds like someone else I know.

Eve: Well... I don't roar anymore. Not much, anyway. It's not good for my vocal cords.

Paige: Mm.

Eve: [Laughs and squeals] You are so beautiful, and we're gonna have the best summer ever. I mean it, Paigey girl. Every minute that we can grab before you head off to college, okay?

Paige: It'll be great to hang out.

Eve: What are you talking, "hang out"? I'm talking shop.

Paige: Ugh.

Eve: Look, we both need a new summer wardrobe, and you're gonna need a complete wardrobe for Stanford, right?

Paige: It's college, mom. A few pairs of jeans and I'm set.

Eve: Zip it. Bite your tongue. You're gonna have a complete new wardrobe... and one outfit for every occasion.

Paige: I-I don't need a new-- [Sighs] Okay, okay. You're better at that stuff than I am, so...

Eve: Well, that's right. One of us has to be frivolous. Besides, you are going to be a far better nurse than I could ever be.

Paige: Uh...not true.

Eve: Uh-huh.

Paige: You made having the flu a party and... mom. Do you need a nurse? What's wrong?

Eve: Oh, no, nothing, sweetheart. I'm just going to have that little throat surgery that we were talking about, and by fall, I'll be back onstage singing again.

Paige: Oh.

Eve: Yeah. So I went to see your wonderful Dr. Jonas this morning, and we got the ball rolling. Hmm-hmm-hmm, see? I do listen. [Laughs]

Paige: So new wardrobes for both of us...

Eve: Mm-hmm.

Paige: A major surgery for you...

Eve: Mm-hmm. And a new place to live. Come on. I got to get you out of this place. I mean, you've been a real trouper, sweetie, but... you got to admit that cousin Joan is, you know, a little style challenged, dear. Right?

Paige: It's not that bad.

Eve: Not that bad? This is the kind of stuff you buy in a car wash gift shop. Uh-uh. Come on. Now, you need a real home. You deserve that, sweetie.

Paige: Uh--

Eve: What?

Paige: Mom. There's no way we have the money to do all these things.

Jennifer: It fell out of a box that we were taking upstairs, and JJ thought it was so funny and just started asking me questions about it.

Hope: Does he know about jack and eve?

Jennifer: No, thank God. You know how he already feels about jack's past.

Hope: Yeah. I mean, if he knew that jack and eve had been married, I--

Jennifer: No, it's not the what; it's the why. And Abigail doesn't know either. I mean, they don't need to know, right? Why should they?

Hope: Well, I suppose so. I mean, why dredge all of that up, right?

Jennifer: I wonder what she is doing now.

Hope: Are you serious?

Jennifer: Yes.

Hope: Are you kidding me? She's probably bilking some millionaire out of his millions. Grand theft auto--who knows?

Jennifer: No, I'm sure she's still in Africa...

Hope: Oh, my God.

Jennifer: Feeding the hungry and tending to the sick.

Hope: Please, cuz.

Jennifer: What?

Hope: Take off those rose-colored glasses, please. We both know that she's probably making someone's life miserable.

Jennifer: Well, I'm just glad it's not mine.

Hope: Okay, so if, um, it isn't eve, then what's wrong?

Jennifer: Who said?

Hope: No one said. But I know you. Sometimes, I think I know you better than you know yourself.

Eve: I am so glad that we don't have to have that conversation ever again.

Paige: Which conversation?

Eve: The money conversation. It's not necessary, because we're set.

Paige: Set?

Eve: Yes.

Paige: What does that mean? How are we set?

Eve: Did you not hear me just a minute ago? I'm going to have the throat surgery. I'm gonna be singing again. I'll be back onstage by fall.

Paige: That's how you want to pay for Stanford, with singing?

Eve: Paige, sweetheart. You don't remember, but I used to make pretty good money up onstage. What are you--you're looking on the internet? Well, all my grand performances were way before the YouTube era, so... is that financial aid? Paige, come on. Didn't you just hear what I said?

Paige: Well, maybe it's not too late to apply.

Eve: Yes, it is, sweetheart. 'Cause it's not necessary, all right? [Laughs] Come on. Honey, don't look like that. Come on. Don't be such a downer. Really, come on. It was a great, great day. And Dr. Jonas thinks that the surgery is going to work. Yeah, sweetheart, it's--it's going to be fine. And I'm gonna be singing. And do you know what? You didn't tell me that he was hot.

Paige: Ugh.

Eve: No, you failed to mention that, so come here. Come here. Come here. Come here. Sit down here. And I want you--

Paige: Okay.

Eve: Come here. I want you to tell me something good and something happy, all right? Why don't you tell me about that boyfriend of yours?

Paige: Ugh. He's great.

Eve: Oh, come on. That's two words. It's so teenager. Come on... all right, maybe that goes with his vibe. JJ. Would you give your mama a break here and just at least tell me his full name, first and last?

JJ: Is there a reason you're in my face?

Cole: Hey, you know how much I hate you.

JJ: I'm working. This isn't gonna--

Cole: But right now, I hate Bev worse.

JJ: Bev?

Cole: Yeah.

JJ: What does she have to do with anything?

Cole: She hired me to plant weed in your girlfriend's purse.

JJ: Wait, what?

Cole: Oh, God... I wasn't trying to steal her bag, you moron.

JJ: B-Bev got you to do that? Well, why--

Jennifer: I'm concerned about Eric, you know? He's had a shock these last few days.

Hope: Because he and Nicole split?

Jennifer: Right.

Hope: Did you know bishop white's office called? They want forensics on some documents that could clear Eric.

Jennifer: Yeah.

Hope: Documents that Nicole tried to destroy. How's Daniel?

Jennifer: Why do you ask?

Hope: Because he and Nicole are friends, and he must be devastated... disappointed, to say the least.

Jennifer: He is... but not just with Nicole.

Daniel: This is your welcome home gift.

Maggie: Ohh.

Victor: Ohh. What have you got there?

Daniel: Right there.

Maggie: [Laughs] Well, that looks fun.

Daniel: Yes, thank you for watching him till I could get away.

Victor: Don't thank me; thank Maggie. I was over at Jennifer's when Chloe dropped him off. Everything all right with you two?

Daniel: What did, uh-- what did Jennifer tell you?

Victor: Not much. But then, she's got a very bad poker face. I suspected something was amiss.

Daniel: Well, we're-- we're taking a break.

Maggie: What?

Daniel: Ah, just-- things happen. That's--that's just where we are right now. So, no. Jennifer won't be coming to dinner tomorrow night.

Maggie: Sorry to hear that. But, uh, things'll blow over, won't they?

Daniel: We'll see.

Theresa: A proposition, hmm?

Aiden: There's a benefit gala for St. Luke's. Get yourself a couple tickets for you and your date, and I promise you will not have to wait in line.

Theresa: Wow, what are you doing shilling for St. Luke's, hmm?

Aiden: Well, my son goes to school there, and they're great people. Look, it's gonna be a fantastic night, I promise you. You'll come; you'll have fun. Whether or not you have a connection to the place--

Theresa: Uh, yeah, actually, I kind of do.

Aiden: Well, even better. How are you connected to--

Brady: Oh, I'm sorry. Am I interrupting you hitting on my girlfriend?

Paige: JJ is his name. That's what everyone calls him, at least.

Eve: What's his mama call him?

Paige: JJ.

Eve: Oh, God. That is so not helpful here.

Paige: [Giggles]

Eve: Okay, we'll forget about the name thing for a minute. Why don't you just tell me more?

Paige: No, I--I already told you I don't want to say anything else until you meet him.

Eve: Well, I'm telling you this much--he must be the most fabulous boy to walk the face of the earth to deserve you, my sweet.

Paige: Uh, wow. No pressure.

Eve: Well, is he?

Paige: He's pretty great. You'll see.

Eve: When?

Paige: Oh, tonight! JJ's mom invited me for dinner to celebrate the end of finals. You have to come too.

Eve: Ooh, uh... you can just show up with someone?

Paige: Of course. Besides, I wouldn't go without you your first night here.

Eve: Mm.

Paige: [Laughs] And wait till you meet his mom. Oh, she's so sweet. You'll love her.

Eve: Well, you know what? I will think about it. But right now... we need to have a little discussion, miss "everyone is so sweet and nice," okay?

Paige: Oh, not the talk. I swear I know it by heart. "Boys cannot be trusted. They don't mean to be dogs, but they can't help it, and they"--

Eve: No, no, no, no, no, no. Not that talk, but-- you're impressive. You really got that one down. [Laughs]

Paige: Totally.

Eve: This one-- this one, sweetheart-- this one is completely different, and I'm-- well, now that we're both in Salem... it can't be avoided, okay?

Aiden: I was talking to her about the St. Luke's gala. So you can relax.

Brady: You know how I relax? You want to step outside and find out how I relax?

Aiden: Okay, well, you're not sweating bourbon this time, so--

Theresa: Uh, you know what? I--I think that we might have plans that night.

Aiden: Yeah, just as well.

Brady: "Just as well."

Theresa: Hey, no, uh... what is wrong with you?

Brady: He's-- that guy-- I know who that guy is. He's a pompous ass, and I don't like him.

Theresa: Okay, so you have some big history between you guys, is that it?

Brady: Why do you care? Why do you want to know?

Theresa: Wow, it is really not your morning. Oh, by the way, did you--did you get that note I left you about the meeting?

Brady: I totally got your note.

Theresa: Mm-hmm.

Brady: But it can wait. Come on.

Daniel: Victor can't play video games; Parker will run circles around him.

[Both laugh]

Maggie: Ah, Victor will hold his own.

Daniel: [Scoffs] Yeah.

Maggie: Daniel, I don't understand.

Daniel: Hmm?

Maggie: I mean, one day, everything is perfect with you and Jenn. And what? Now you're taking a break and we'll see if you're gonna get back together?

Daniel: Okay--

Maggie: I mean, how does this happen?

Daniel: It's really not quite that simple.

Maggie: Well, how is it?

Daniel: It is complicated. There's really only so much I can say to you. 'Cause there are considerations, and there are--there are people. There are people who would be affected, so...

Maggie: Was it-- are there other people?

Daniel: No, it's not like that, mom.

Maggie: But you look so wrecked.

Daniel: I am. 'Cause I thought she knew me. Down to my soul. But she--she-- she really doesn't.

Hope: Wait a second. You're the one who told Eric? It wasn't Daniel?

Jennifer: [Sighs] No, I told him because Nicole knows how to work Daniel. And he just allows it to happen, so I feel like if I didn't tell Eric, I am convinced he still wouldn't know.

Daniel: Jennifer had zero faith in me. There was something important I had to do. And she didn't--she didn't believe that I'd do it.

Jennifer: Daniel's not mad that Eric knows.

Hope: Then what is he mad at?

Jennifer: He isn't. He's hurt. He's crushed. Because I had to be honest with him. I know his relationship with Nicole. And I know that she would keep Daniel from telling Eric the truth.

Daniel: I mean, it's basic. Jennifer's opinion of me means a great deal, obviously. I mean, more than a great deal. And I saw it... deep down, she doesn't-- she doesn't believe in me.

Jennifer: I really didn't think that it was that b big of a deal. I mean, I didn't mean it as some giant attack on his character or who he is or whatever he thought it was. I-- but he was so hurt that I wanted to take it all back.

Hope: But you didn't.

Jennifer: No, he would've seen right through that. But it's okay, because we're gonna get through this. I mean, we have to. Daniel and I should be together.

Daniel: And since then, I've been doubting myself. Maybe Jenn does see things more clearly than I do. I mean, maybe I'm not the man I think I am.

Maggie: Do you think you would've done the right thing in this situation?

Daniel: I thought I had. But, yeah, going forward, I would have.

Maggie: Well, then I'm sorry, because Jennifer rose is flat out wrong. I hate to see you so broken up.

Daniel: I'll live.

Maggie: Well, maybe you need some time. You know, a little perspective.

Daniel: Maybe.

Maggie: Well, like you said, the two of you are just taking a break. Jenn needs some time to see that she's wrong about you.

Daniel: I don't know if she'll ever see it that way.

Aiden: Hey, I hope I'm not interrupting.

Jennifer: Hi.

Aiden: But hope said she was gonna be here, is that--

Jennifer: Yes, absolutely. Come on in.

Aiden: Hey.

Hope: Aiden?

Aiden: Ah, you, uh-- you tell Jennifer?

Jennifer: Tell me what?

Hope: Uh, we don't need to do this now.

Jennifer: It's okay.

Aiden: I'm sorry. Is this a bad time?

Jennifer: No, it's not. It's fine, really. It sounds like it's good news.

Aiden: It is good news. In fact, we got the Salem inn ballroom for the St. Luke's gala.

Jennifer: [Gasps] That's fantastic.

Aiden: Yes, it is. Now, we know it's gonna be a fun event for the entire family. So I'm just thinking that maybe you, Dr. Dan--the power couple that you are--might want to sponsor a table.

Jennifer: You know what? I just--I'm not sure--

Aiden: I'm sure two fantastic people like yourself can find 14 people--family, friends, strangers--whoever would pony up a little scratch for a table.

Jennifer: I'm not really sure that--

Aiden: All right, I'm going to be blunt here, okay? Please forgive me, all right? He is a doctor; his godfather is--well, he's the godfather.

Hope: Aiden--

Aiden: I think Daniel can handle this.

Hope: Aiden.

Aiden: No, no, you know what? You're right. You're right. Give me his phone number, I--

Hope: You know what? You got to stop. Enough. [Snaps fingers] Okay?

Bev: [Sighs] That hurts.

JJ: Cole told me what you did.

Bev: Let go of me.

JJ: Can't run.

Bev: Who said I'm running? Cole is a loser and a liar. He's mad at me because I wouldn't go out with him. So whatever he told you, it's--

JJ: You wanted to set Paige up.

Bev: That's ridiculous.

JJ: I agree. Because you have to know that it wouldn't work.

Bev: Of course it wouldn't, because she's a brain and a goddess.

JJ: Yeah.

Bev: She's a bitch, JJ. And you could do better.

JJ: Oh, you mean you?

Bev: Yeah, me.

Paige: That sounds serious.

Eve: Well-- it is, sweetheart. Um... you are such-- such a good girl and so smart and... but you have such a big heart, and everyone is going to be jealous of you, and they are gonna try to bring you down to their level.

Paige: Is this about cousin Joan? Because I barely see her. We're on different schedules. And I know you think she's the kind of person--

Eve: No, no, no, sweetheart. No, no, no, no, no. No. It's not who I'm talking about. I'm talking about my family. I'm talking about aunt Theresa.

Theresa: Did you take a vow of silence?

Brady: Sorry, sorry, um... just collecting my thoughts.

Theresa: About?

Brady: About you, about me, about us.

Theresa: Okay.

Brady: What are we doing? What is this?

Theresa: We're having fun.

Brady: No, I know. I know. I mean, besides that.

Theresa: Hey, come on. I thought fun was working for us.

Brady: It was.

Theresa: Hey, what? Just tell me.

Brady: I want more.

Theresa: The more that you're talking about... you want that with me?

Brady: Yeah. It's not that I just saw you with that jerk at the hospital, okay? I don't like the idea of you with anyone else. When I see you with anyone else, I don't like it. I hate it. I don't think I would feel that way if I didn't care, right?

Theresa: [Laughs] I'm not an expert.

Daniel: I mean, didn't you think that this whole thing with us was just about the sex and the booze and the drugs and the--you know, the good times and the--and the free stuff that you got from me--

Theresa: Um, is that why you think that I'm around?

Brady: No, but it's been fun; we've had fun.

Theresa: Yeah, it has.

Brady: But what if you take all of that other stuff away? I mean-- maybe...there's something else. I'm not saying I want to go cold turkey tomorrow or anything. That's crazy, but-- without all that other stuff, I mean, maybe there's something here. What do you think about that?

Paige: Theresa? I've had zero contact with her, like you told me.

Eve: Good. We're gonna keep it that way.

Paige: She's really that bad?

Eve: I'm just glad she hasn't seen you since you were a little girl.

Paige: I don't even remember back then.

Eve: Well, I'm hoping that Theresa is the same way. I mean, it'd be a blessing, 'cause that way, if you two do run into each other here in Salem, she won't even recognize you.

Paige: And we can just avoid her, right?

Eve: Well, that's going to be a little harder. Grandpa Shane, well... he didn't tell her that you were in town, but he told her that I was in town.

Paige: Ugh, no way.

Eve: Yeah, well, what was I going to do, sweetheart? You know, I couldn't say no to him. I told him I would--I'd check in on her. But I'm gonna tell you this much--I'm going to make sure she stays away from you. That's for sure.

Paige: Oh, mom. Would you stop worrying? I can handle her.

Eve: You shouldn't have to handle her, honey.

Paige: You can't protect me forever.

Eve: Really? Watch me.

Bev: You put Paige on such a pedestal.

JJ: She deserves it.

Bev: Do you?

JJ: What's that supposed to mean?

Bev: Forget it.

JJ: No. What?

Bev: I don't judge you, JJ. But she will and--

JJ: Stay away from Paige, Bev. And me. You crossed the line.

Bev: Whatever.

JJ: Hey, you don't know her at all. I do belong with Paige. And you can't ruin it for us. So don't embarrass yourself by trying, okay?

Hope: Sorry.

Aiden: Okay, what's wrong?

Jennifer: My sweet cousin was trying to spare me, but it's okay. Daniel and I are taking a little break.

Aiden: Oh...

Jennifer: So we won't be able to...

Aiden: Yeah, yeah, no, no-- I got it. I--I'm sorry.

Jennifer: I mean, you didn't know. No, you'd had no idea. But you know what? I know a lot of people, and I can call them, and I can make sure they come and--

Aiden: You don't have to do that, no.

Hope: We should probably get going to that catering meeting that we had.

Aiden: Yeah, yeah. We should--

Hope: Yeah, we're gonna go.

Aiden: I'm so sorry, Jennifer, and I hope it all works out.

Jennifer: Yeah, me too. Thank you.

Hope: Sorry.

Jennifer: No, please. Love you.

Hope: I love you too. I'm gonna scoot out this way.

Jennifer: Yeah. Love you.

Hope: Okay. I love you, cuz.

Jennifer: [Sighs deeply]

Maggie: Don't you think Jennifer loves you?

Daniel: I know she does. And I love her. I miss her.

Maggie: Well, then frankly, what's the problem? Because if the woman loves you, then she believes in you, Daniel. How can this be a big thing?

Daniel: Jennifer doesn't think it is or has to be.

Maggie: But you do?

Daniel: Mom, I know this sounds crazy, but I can't forget. I can't ignore what Jenn thinks, who she thinks I am. I wish I could.

Maggie: Daniel... this sounds awfully final. Bolder. Bigger.

Theresa: [Laughs] You're--you're just embarrassed because you were acting like a jealous jackass before, and so you're trying to make it into something that I-- scratch that. It's--wow. This is serious. Okay, no, I--I can-- I can be serious. No, really, watch, I-- [Laughs] I will be--

Brady: You're still smiling. All right, you look serious now.

Theresa: [Laughing] Okay. Look, the truth is, Brady... I really like when you're serious. And I like that you're serious about us.

Brady: Really?

Theresa: Yeah, I-- I kind of like everything that you had to say.

Paige: So you'll come to dinner with JJ's mom tonight?

Eve: Hmm, I'm going to think about it, okay? It's been a really, really, really long day. And, well, from the sounds of things, it doesn't look like this boy's going anywhere.

Paige: Why does it sound like you're backing out?

Eve: I'm not. I just--I-I'm weary in advance. I got to deal with aunt Theresa right now.

Paige: Hmm, hang tough. And don't give her any money.

Eve: Hmm, or our address. Although, that might be a really good way to get rid of her. [Laughs] God, is there any ventilation in this place?

Paige: The A.C. is broken.

Eve: No kidding. Would you leave the door open when you go? 'Cause it smells like kitty litter and cheese puffs in here.

Paige: Ugh. And neither of those have been in the house as long as I've been here.

Eve: [Laughs] Now I'm scared to sleep here, sweetie.

[Both laughing]

Paige: See you soon.

Eve: Okay, babe. Okay. Leave the door open for me.

Paige: Uh-huh.

Eve: Thank you. Ugh. Oh, boy.

[Phone ringing]

Theresa: Ah. It's a blocked number.

Brady: Don't answer it.

Theresa: No, come on, hey. Look, it might be the hospital, all right? And I did kind of just skip out on them at the last minute.

Brady: Go on; answer it.

Theresa: Okay. Hello? Hello? Can you hear me?

Daniel: Look, I'm sorry, uh, to be so negative. It's just so--so fresh, and I--I have to be honest.

Maggie: Mm. When haven't you been?

Daniel: You can't invent a fantasy world where the person you're with has just the qualities you want and nothing else. You have to accept them for who they truly, truly are.

Maggie: Yeah. I know that one.

Daniel: Yes. Yes, you do.

Maggie: But you and Jennifer were so good for each other.

Daniel: Yeah, I thought so. But look, you know, maybe you're right, though. Maybe you're right. Just a little time, and things will--things will be resolved, right?

Maggie: That's what I like to hear.

Daniel: Hey, all right.

Hope: What do you think about this menu?

Aiden: Which?

Hope: I think it has pretty good choices. Good balance. Did you even look at it?

Aiden: Hope, I'm sorry about earlier.

Hope: Aiden, it's okay. You didn't know. Jenn will be fine. She's a real trouper.

Aiden: Yeah, you'd just think I would've learned my lesson back when--

Hope: What?

Aiden: Hmm? Ah, nothing, I just--

Hope: No, no, no. What were you going to say?

Aiden: Just have a real knack--that's all-- of saying the wrong thing, alienating people.

Hope: When? You said you should've learned better back when? What did you mean?

[Phone rings]

Theresa: Hello? Um, listen, I don't know if-- if you can hear me, but I can't hear you, um... hello?

Eve: Okay. Well, I am definitely going to need a drink before I deal with that one... or at least some fresh clothes and fresh air, oh.

Aiden: When should I have known better? I don't know, uh... last week, yesterday. I don't know--pick a time, and you'll find me with my foot in my mouth.

Hope: [Laughs] Oh, that must be so helpful in court.

Aiden: Well, sometimes it actually is. The judge will take pity on my client when he sees me act like an idiot.

Hope: Hmm, funny. I haven't seen much sign of that.

Aiden: Lenient judges?

Hope: No, being an idiot. At least in court.

Aiden: Oh.

Hope: Anyway, uh, I think once we have the menu done, most of the heavy lifting is done for the gala.

Aiden: Well, thanks to you, mostly me.

Hope: Do you think we've covered everything?

Aiden: I think so. I think so. But, you know, um... I don't have anyone to go with. And as far as I know, I don't think you have anyone to go with. I thought maybe that, uh--

Hope: That we could... go together, as friends?

Aiden: I mean, you think you could stand a whole evening with me?

Hope: [Laughs] I don't know. You better hope so. I am always armed.

Aiden: [Laughs] Of course you are.

Theresa: That, um, was not just some guy, if that's what you think.

Brady: No, n-no. That's not--that's not what I think, and you can talk to any guy that you want.

Theresa: Well, I don't want to--

Brady: Except my dad. I don't want you talking to him.

Theresa: I wouldn't.

Brady: I completely trust you.

Theresa: What?

Brady: I trust you. I have no reason not to trust you, why wouldn't I trust--

Theresa: [Laughs]

Brady: Whoa--okay.

Theresa: I just-- thank you. Thanks.

Brady: You're very welcome. Oh, God. Ah, the meeting. I got--I've got to get to that meeting; I'm--

Theresa: Okay, yeah, no, um-- [Stammers] You know, uh... a little bump--it would help the meeting speed along.

Brady: Hmm... you know what? I'm out--I'm out of coke.

Theresa: Oh.

Brady: I did the last of it. I'm sorry.

Theresa: Yeah, me too, actually.

[Phone rings]

Theresa: Sorry. Oh, it's Anne. She's looking for me, and she wants me to pick up lunch for her at that new place in--

Brady: It's okay. It's okay. I'm going this way. So I'll, uh--we'll talk later, all right?

Theresa: Sure. Yeah, I-I'll make a few calls and see if I can get us something for later. Okay.

Brady: Okay.

Maggie: Daniel said love isn't the problem with him and Jennifer.

Victor: No, it's acceptance.

Maggie: I've learned to accept the things that I wished were different about you.

Victor: Well, I can't say the same. From the day you walked into my life, you were perfect. And so you remain.

Maggie: [Laughs]

Daniel: Oh, my gosh. You just love it. Look at you. Yeah? Oh, I'm so glad to have you home, buddy. I am. I am a lucky dad. A very, very lucky dad.

Jennifer: Oh, hi, honey.

Paige: Hi.

Jennifer: Come on in.

Paige: I know I'm way early for dinner, but, uh, JJ said to meet him here.

Jennifer: Oh, well, he isn't home.

Paige: Oh.

JJ: Hey, Paige?

Eve: Oh.
