Episode #12312 ~ Hope hears Aiden talking with his son; Ben is flirty towards Abigail; JJ asks Paige out.
Provided By Suzanne
Hope: Scrub much harder, you're gonna take the veneer right off.
Caroline: [Laughs] Oh, hmm. Hi.
Hope: Hi. Something's bothering you. What is it--what's wrong?
Caroline: No, no, no, no. I'm fine, fine.
Hope: Well, you should be fine, the wedding was wonderful, and your speech, oh, my gosh, it was so beautiful.
Caroline: It was my great-grandson who got married. His family should've been there.
Hope: And by "family," you mean Bo?
Caroline: [Sighs] I shouldn't complain to you about it, because you're the one putting up with his immense self-- see how I'm not complaining to you about it?
Hope: Ciara and I are getting through it. It's okay.
Caroline: When he gets back, I'm gonna give him a piece of my mind.
Hope: Can I be there? Please?
Caroline: [Laughs] Yes.
Hope: Can I be there?
Hope: So listen, I know that Bo used to do a lot around here for you. Are you sure there isn't anything I can do to help?
Caroline: Oh. Well, you--as a matter of fact, there is.
Abigail: Oh! Oh, my God, I'm so sorry! Are you okay?
Paige: It's--it's--I'm fine, I'm fine, no worries.
Abigail: I can't believe I did that--I'm so embarrassed. I'm so sorry. I-I tend to get a little preoccupied when I'm running, especially if I'm, you know, listening to music, and then my mind starts to wander-- are you okay? Are you sure?
Paige: I'm--I'm sure. Probably a little bruised, but I'll survive. [Laughs]
Abigail: Oh, my God, you are being so nice about this.
Paige: Hey, it was an accident. I've been known to get preoccupied sometimes myself. [Laughs]
Abigail: I'm Abigail, by the way.
Paige: Oh, Paige. Nice bumping into you.
Abigail: Yeah. [Sighs]
JJ: You're not stalking her. No. She posted this voluntarily. I just wish she would post something today so I can accidentally bump into her. You know, maybe that is stalking.
[Nuts hitting floor]
JJ: Okay, you're checking out a girl who posted about how much trash she picked up, and--and you can't even open a bag of nuts without making a mess.
JJ: Uh, um... okay. Okay, get that stained and Russ will kill you.
[Knock at door]
JJ: Mr. Jennings. What's going on?
Aiden: Uh, thought I'd tell you in person. Today is your lucky day.
Sami: Am I allowed to comment on how out of character it is for you to be running errands with me?
EJ: What? I love spending time with you.
Sami: I know what this is about. You wanting to get away from your father. I mean, Stefano was acting so weird today.
Stefano: As long as Samantha doesn't find out that you have been banging Abigail Deveraux.
Sami: And he was being so coy about his surprises. Ugh. And then pretending to be happy that we're getting married. Well, I guess we should just be glad that he was enjoying himself.
EJ: Well, if I have been successful at getting myself away from him, maybe we could agree not to talk about him.
Sami: I know you're not telling me something.
EJ: Oh, look. There's the latest object of father's affection.
Kate: Ortiz, it's me. Call me as soon as you get this message. I need an update on Jordan Ridgeway, now.
Lucas: Really looks great. It does.
Lucas: Yeah. How'd you come up with it?
Sheryl: Remember when we got lost in the Ozarks?
Lucas: Yeah, I remember that.
Sheryl: Yeah, and you had to ask for directions, yeah.
Sheryl: Well, in that office, there was this really cool pinup calendar, and I just thought that that retro style would be really cool for our new lip gloss.
Lucas: You don't miss a trick, do you? I love this background right here.
Jordan: So I'm done with work. I'm looking forward to tonight.
Rafe: Well, me too. I just need to take care of a few things and then we'll meet up later, say at the pub?
Jordan: See you there. Can we go somewhere and talk about this please?
Rafe: No, we cannot go somewhere. I want to know what the hell is going on, and who is this guy?
Jordan: He's my brother.
Lucas: I feel like we've been dancing around this ever since we met.
Sheryl: It's been a nice dance.
Lucas: Yeah, it has. You know, um... it might seem like an odd question, but are you wearing the new lip gloss right now?
Sheryl: Why don't you see for yourself?
Sami: Well, I have to get over to Lucas's office to get him to sign that permission slip for Allie's field trip.
Stefano: I only want you to know that I am here to help you with Samantha, just as I know you are going to help me with Katarina.
EJ: Mind if I meet you at home? After having dealt with father, I think I'm gonna have to leave Lucas to you.
Sami: [Laughs] All right, well, I hope the rest of your day is better.
EJ: Mmm. I can't imagine it will be.
Sami: Thank you for the coffee.
EJ: Hello, lovely.
Kate: Oh, you can can that phony smile, I know that look.
EJ: Really? And what look would that be?
Kate: The look of a man I'm about to say no to. Looks like you started to make something.
Caroline: I got a call from our new priest, father Louis.
Hope: Did you now?
Caroline: Yes, I did, and he asked me to talk to you. He's so dedicated to the school.
Caroline: To talk to you about working with another parent to raise money.
Hope: He is incorrigible.
Caroline: Who is?
Hope: That father. That new father, father Louis. He tried guilt, subterfuge, and now he's recruiting my mother-in-law--crazy.
Caroline: You can't talk like that about a priest.
Hope: Well, you know what? I just did. He's not what this is about, though, is it? It's about Aiden Jennings, right?
Caroline: Yes, I think that was the man's name.
Hope: Well, you can tell your saintly father Louis to forget it. I'm not doing it. No way.
Aiden: Yeah, uh, what's up with the shirt?
JJ: I've never quite mastered the afternoon snack. Yeah, I just--I spilled some nuts before I answered the door. So why is this my lucky day?
Aiden: Okay, look, as a rule, I don't get involved in my client's community service, okay, but I saw your mom, I was talking to her, and she told me that you wanted to do your time at the hospital.
JJ: Yeah. Yeah, I was kind of hoping that would work out.
Aiden: Yeah, well, I mean, come on, it should've. If it wasn't for some busybody with an axe to grind who blocked your application, then you wouldn't have found yourself cleaning the public toilets, picking up garbage in the town square.
JJ: I know, I know, it's just... I mean, I was really upset about that, and then--
Aiden: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I know, I know, you've been a good sport about it, and I admire that.
JJ: Thank you, thank you.
Aiden: But look, anyway, I was talking to judge Goldberg on a completely unrelated issue--caught him in one of his rare good moods. You will be transferred, effective immediately.
JJ: No. No, no, no-- [Stammers] No, don't--don't--
Paige: [Sighs] I've seen you running here too, huh?
Abigail: Yeah, probably. I'm training for a half marathon, so...
Paige: Me too! Maybe we could go running together some time.
Abigail: Yeah, I would love that. You know, it might actually be safer if I'm running in the same direction as you.
Paige: Would you stop? You know, it was partly my fault.
Abigail: No, it wasn't at all--I knocked you down.
Paige: Yeah, but if I hadn't been distracted, I might've noticed you coming, could've gotten out of the way.
Abigail: Okay, seriously, you are being way too nice about this.
Paige: No, I mean it. I should know better than to listen to Janelle Monae when I run. I get kind of carried away.
Abigail: Uh, you mean listen to her in your head when you run?
Paige: No. [Laughs]
Abigail: You don't have a phone, so you actually weren't listening to any music when you fell down.
Paige: I guess not. I guess not. I was thinking of earlier when I was listening to music, but then I got a text and put my phone in--
Abigail: Your pocket?
Paige: My phone! Oh, my God, where is it?
Abigail: Uh, okay.
Paige: I just--I just--I just got it.
Abigail: Oh, there! It's right here, I found it. Oh, oh, God, your screen is cracked. I think I must have wrecked it when I ran into you. I'm so sorry.
Paige: Rats. How much is that going to cost?
Abigail: It's not gonna cost you anything, because I'm going to pay for it.
Paige: [Chuckles] No way. It was an accident.
Abigail: Yeah, an accident caused by me being in a complete and total daze and not paying any attention to where I was going, so it means that it's my fault, and I am going to make it right.
Lucas: Are you sure?
Sheryl: I am.
Lucas: So it has nothing to do with the fact that I'M...
Sheryl: B-boss? No. No, no, no. This has to do with... I like you... a lot. A whole lot.
[Knocking at the door]
Sami: Why is your door locked?
Sheryl: She'll go away.
Lucas: No, no, no, she won't. She won't go away. She's like malaria, she never truly goes away.
[Knocking at the door]
Sami: Hey, Lucas, seriously, it's important.
Lucas: Yeah, yeah, I'm sure it is important, Sami.
Sami: It'll just take a minute, I need you to sign the--
Lucas: How nice to see you.
Sami: Hello. You're lip gloss is a little smeared.
Sheryl: Oh, uh, thanks. Sorry.
Lucas: That's all right.
Sami: Am I interrupting?
Lucas: Whoa, whoa, whoa--
Sami: On your face-- something.
Lucas: Got it.
EJ: You're not gonna have to say no to me, because I'm not gonna to ask you for anything. Just came to see how you were doing.
Kate: I'm doing almost exactly as I was at the wedding, where you didn't have any interest at all in talking to me.
EJ: Well, no, I didn't want to intrude, because I didn't think that was the right place to bring up a certain subject.
Kate: Oh. My dinner with Stefano?
Kate: I have a very long spoon.
EJ: Oh, my goodness, it can't possibly have been that bad. He's full of hope, you know. He said to me earlier, "even the longest journey begins with a single step."
Kate: He said that, did he?
Kate: Mm-hmm. And then he sent you here to let me know that he wasn't giving up? I knew you'd been a lot of things, I--a race car driver, an attorney, cutthroat businessman, but I didn't know you were taking on title of pimp.
Jordan: Are you following me?
Ben: Whoa. I was passing through and I saw you. I thought I might say hi to my sister--is that okay?
Jordan: You startled me.
Ben: That's not hard to do. You're wound so tight. Look, I know you don't want your boyfriend to see us , but--
Jordan: But what?
Ben: It just doesn't seem right that we're living in the same town and we can't even talk to each other.
Jordan: You know why we can't risk it. Rafe is the only one that knows you're my brother, and he's the only person I trust to not tell anyone about it.
Rafe: Well, at least he doesn't have a criminal record. That's weird. He should at least have a driver's license somewhere.
Abigail: Look, I live, like, ten minutes away, so just come on over, I will get you the money, and I will tell you a great place where you can get it fixed.
Paige: Uh, Abigail. Thanks.
Abigail: Yeah, of course.
JJ: I really do appreciate you talking to the judge about me and my situation. It's just that I feel like I'm up to speed on this assignment, you know, and I'm not sure I would be as productive learning a new job. And maybe the public aspect of the town square assignment is a good way for me to repay my debt to society.
Aiden: [Chuckles] Who is she?
JJ: Excuse me?
Aiden: You met a girl, right? That's why you don't want to transfer jobs, right? And that's why you're talking to me like some 47-year-old bureaucrat.
JJ: I was?
Aiden: Yeah. Women have strange effects on men.
Aiden: Well, good luck. I'll tell judge Goldberg that you're fine right where you are. Because "the public aspect of your town square assignment is a good way to repay your debt to society." Is that--my goodness, for you to talk like that, I think you got it bad.
Aiden: All right.
JJ: Hey, Mr. Jennings?
JJ: Thank you, man.
Hope: Aiden Jennings is a domineering, judgmental... individual.
Caroline: And you're too fragile to work with him?
Hope: There's no need for me to have to work with him. He's offered to do the fundraising alone. That way, you know what? He gets to work with the person he loves the most.
Caroline: Well, father Louis thinks that you're important. Aiden is new to this town, and you know everybody, and you-- and you know that raising money is about who you know.
Hope: I'm not particularly thrilled about working for father Louis either.
Hope: I mean--I know, too much sugar. I know he means well, but he's kind of pushy, don't you think? And he's manipulative.
Caroline: The--well-- the lord helps those...
Both: Who help themselves.
Hope: I know, but you know what, it wasn't fair that he went to you behind my back either.
Caroline: You know how important the school is to Eric.
Hope: Here comes the guilt, right?
Caroline: Well, if all the children could have the education that Ciara is getting--
Hope: Did father Louis coach you?
Caroline: No! No-- he just said that the work was too much for one person. I mean, after all, there's a gala, there's a silent auction--
Hope: So I'll do something else--I can do something else. Caroline, please, just trust me when I tell you that making me and Aiden Jennings co-chairs is a very bad idea.
Hope: "Huh"? What's the "huh"?
Caroline: Well, your-- you have such a strong reaction to this man. Everybody else thinks that he's utterly charming.
Lucas: What are you doing here and how'd you get past security?
Sami: What, did you lock the door so she could show you her etchings?
Lucas: I locked the door in a vain effort to keep people out. Why are you here right now?
Sami: I need you to sign this. It's for Allie's field trip.
Lucas: Might have to check the fine print, make sure you're not pulling a fast one on me.
Lucas: Yeah, you.
Sami: Hey, um, Lucas, I have to tell you something.
Sami: I'm glad she's pretty. I'm glad the door was locked. I really hope you're happy.
EJ: "Pimp"? No, no, no. My dear, given your history, that's not a word you should introduce into a conversation.
Kate: But this isn't a conversation. This appears to be an opening gambit, so why don't you just skip the pleasantries and come to the point?
EJ: Okay, I'm sorry if I was insensitive, and I'm sorry...
Kate: Smug, smug.
EJ: If I was rude, and I'm terribly sorry if I was smug. Okay? I just feel for him. I do. He is very sorry that he hurt you.
Kate: [Laughs] So where is this coming from? Because you don't give a flying... Wallenda about him or me.
EJ: That's not true. Of course I do, and if you had dinner with him, there must be some kind of thaw.
Kate: You don't want a thaw. If the vast quantity of ice that exists between me and your father were to break and begin to melt, the seas would rise and everyone would drown.
EJ: Okay, and the fact--
Kate: But you can hold on to your beachfront property, because that is never, ever going to happen.
EJ: And the fact that the two of you were very happy together, that doesn't mean anything?
Kate: And the fact that he nearly emasculated Rafe in the most horrendous way possible doesn't matter to you?
EJ: That's just his way of showing you how much he cares for you.
Kate: Or showing that he's a psychopath. Because unless the man is senile, how could he ever delude himself into thinking that I would ever, ever forgive that?
Jordan: You know this is the way it has to be.
Ben: Hiding like this-- I-it's been going on too long.
Jordan: We've had this discussion a thousand times. We have agreed this is the only way. I really have to go. Bye.
Ben: I'm sorry I made things worse for you...again.
Rafe: [Scoffs] What the hell are you doing? You trust her. You're acting like a DiMera, for God's sake.
EJ: Kate, we have all done some...pretty terrible things, right? Now, we may not be able to forget, but we can forgive.
Kate: Are you comparing yourself and Sami to me and Stefano now? Because that--
EJ: No, no, no, no, no. No, I'm not making any comparison at all. And your heart is your own. Nobody's gonna blame you for hardening it to my father. All I'm saying is this: In as long as I've known you two, you have been happier together than I've ever seen you apart. And he's not asking for a miracle, Kate, he's asking for a chance.
Kate: Well, like I said when you first walked up and I didn't know your question, the answer is no.
EJ: Kate, I'm not gonna belabor the point. But I do hope you're not choosing anger over love.
Kate: [Scoffs] You're EJ DiMera, you don't spout sentimental nonsense like that.
EJ: Methinks the lady doth protest too much.
Lucas: It's no big deal, really.
Sami: It is a big deal when you meet someone special, and you deserve it.
Lucas: So do you, but you got EJ.
Sami: You're gonna eat those words, you know that, don't you? EJ and I are gonna be nauseatingly happy together, and we're gonna go around spreading sunshine everywhere.
Lucas: Sunshine. Yeah, yeah, that's the exact word that pops in my head when I think of all DiMeras.
Sami: If you don't cut it out, I'm not gonna tell you what a great job you did standing up for will at the wedding.
Lucas: The wedding. I can't believe he's married. He's like a real man now.
Sami: [Whispers] I know. When did that even happen?
Lucas: I don't know. I don't know. It's a matter of time before Allie's all grown up too, so watch out.
Sami: Oh! No, do not say that.
Lucas: It's coming.
Sami: We always talk about how our kids are so great in spite of us. I'm just saying, I think one of us obviously must have done something right.
Lucas: Probably me.
Lucas: Nah, you're a great mom. And a good friend.
Sami: Well, a good friend knows when three's a crowd. So I will leave you to your-- what was it? "Campaign." Go get 'em, tiger.
Lucas: Yeah. Thanks.
Sheryl: I know people who are still married who don't get along that well.
Lucas: Yeah, it took a long time to get to that point, a long time.
Sheryl: So I had an idea. I thought maybe I'd go for a late lunch. Do you want to join me?
Lucas: I would love to. That sounds great, thanks. Come on.
Paige: Wait a minute, this is JJ's house.
Abigail: Yeah, you know him?
Paige: [Chuckles] You know what, I shouldn't be bothering you and your family.
Abigail: What? No, no, no, you're not. You're not at all. My mom's at work and my brother's at the library. It's fine, come on in.
Paige: Uh, I really should get back to my run.
Abigail: No, seriously, this is gonna take me, like, two seconds. I'm just gonna run upstairs and get my purse. Stay right there.
Paige: Okay. It's okay, he's at the library. Um--
Allie: Is my mom here?
EJ: Oh, hello, sweetheart. No, your mother popped out for a little bit. Why, is something wrong?
Allie: I hate long division. It's stupid. Your phone can just do it for you.
EJ: Huh. Do you know what I think? I think you are a lot smarter than your telephone. Let's take a look, shall we?
Allie: It's too hard.
EJ: Well, let's just see. What do we have here? 348 divided into 8,745.
Allie: I don't even know what that means.
EJ: Well... let's imagine you had, uh, 348 monkeys, okay? And you had 8,745 bananas.
Allie: That's silly.
EJ: No, it's not silly at all. No, it's--actually, you have to be very careful, you see, because if the 348 monkeys don't get the same number of bananas, then they'll get very, very cranky. So let's see, we take 3-4-8, and then I think we take the first three numbers of 8-7-4, and...[Murmuring]
Aiden: You liking St. Luke's better than you did in the beginning?
Chase: It's all right.
Aiden: And Ciara, how are-- how you two getting along?
Chase: Since we can't tease each other, we don't talk much.
Aiden: Okay, chase, getting used to a new place can take a little time, that's all, okay?
Chase: When can we go back to Portland?
Hope: Hey, Caroline, I swiped some peanut butter cookies for Ciara's lunch box tomorrow, and a few for myself.
Caroline: Okay. You know those cookies were a big hit at that fabulous bake sale that you and Aiden did together?
Hope: You know, if I never hear the words "bake sale" again, it'll be too soon for me.
Caroline: But you and Aiden did such--
Hope: But I'd much prefer to talk about the bake sale than him--I just don't get it. It seems like everyone here in Salem thinks he's the greatest thing since sliced bread. I don't get it. I'm gonna go. I love you.
Caroline: Well, maybe you--
Hope: It's good to see you.
Caroline: You could have a bread table with Aiden if--
Hope: No bread table. Hey, Rafe.
Hope: Hi, Jordan, hi.
Caroline: He's right there.
Jordan: Your speech at the wedding was so beautiful.
Caroline: Oh, thank you. Well, I could do it for both of you again.
Jordan: [Laughs] Well, that was subtle.
Jordan: So how was work? Did you catch any criminals on that big case you were telling me about?
Rafe: I don't want to talk about work. Just want to spend some time with you. [Laughs]
JJ: What are you doing here?
Paige: Oh, I'm not stalking you, okay?
JJ: I didn't say that you were. I was just going to get--
Paige: Oh, right.
JJ: Get my sh--shirt.
JJ: Um... I was--I was going to clean this up.
Abigail: Hey, JJ. I thought you were at the library.
JJ: Hey, uh, no, I'm not at the library, I-I'm--I'm here.
Abigail: Yeah, so it would seem. This is Paige, uh... but I guess you guys already know each other. Well, here's the money...
Abigail: For your phone, and this is the card of the guy that fixed mine. He's super reasonable and he's at the square, so it's, you know, really close, and you guys can-- you should check it out. Okay, see ya, bye.
Paige: Uh, oh, hey, I'll go with you.
JJ: No, no! Because I know where--I know where the shop is, and I could go with you.
Paige: It's at the square. I work at the square.
JJ: Just if you--if you wanted some company, like--
Paige: Oh. Sure.
JJ: Cool. [Laughs] I'm just gonna change my shirt. Um, it's--
Paige: Change your shirt? Why?
Allie: Mom, EJ showed me how to do math without my phone.
Sami: He did? That's fantastic. Good job, sweetheart, and guess what, your daddy signed your permission slip...
Allie: Thanks, mom.
Sami: So you can put your homework and all of that in your backpack so you don't lose it, okay?
Allie: Thanks, EJ.
EJ: Any time.
Paige: He said he could have it fixed in 20 minutes. You don't have to stick around.
JJ: Oh. Okay. You know, I was thinking, um... maybe we could do something together sometime. I mean, something besides picking up trash.
Paige: Did you just ask me out?
Ben: Look, I'm glad you came in, 'cause I want to apologize for how I was before when you came in to pick up the package. It's just, I thought you looked so, um...
Abigail: What? So what? Overdressed? Ridiculous?
Ben: Well, actually, beautiful.
Sheryl: Mmm. [Panting] Oh. Yes. Oh. Oh.
Kate: Now, how many times has mommy talked to you about not having your cell phone with you at all times?
Kate: Hmm. Ortiz, finally. My, my, my. Yes, well, it sounds like you finally might have something on Jordan and her little secret.
Jordan: So...what aren't you telling me?
Rafe: What? What, like, a guy can't kiss his girlfriend without having an ulterior motive?
Jordan: Okay, whatever you say.
Rafe: Well, what I say is, I've been looking forward to some of Caroline's clam chowder. What are you gonna have?
Aiden: [Sighs] We talked about this, buddy, okay? We're not going back to Portland.
Chase: Why not?
Aiden: Because we're... because we're not, that's all. It's--
Chase: You never have a good reason for anything. I had to leave all my friends, and now I don't have any at all.
Aiden: Chase, look, this is-- this is our home now, though.
Aiden: Why? Be--because I said so, okay, and that should be a good enough reason.
Chase: But I want to go back.
Aiden: Look, I know you do, okay? I know you do, but we can't. Okay? We-- Hey, want to wait for me over by the swings over there? Be right over, okay?
Aiden: All right. Stay where I can see you, all right? How long were you standing there?
Hope: I didn't want to interrupt. It seemed pretty intense.
Aiden: Well, look, you have no right eavesdropping on me, I--
Hope: I didn't mean to. Actually, when I first saw you, I was thinking I should turn around and walk the other way.
Aiden: Oh, right.
Hope: Listen, I don't want to fight with you, okay? I was just telling my mother-in-law that we can't work together.
Aiden: Oh, we can't work together, but you can spy on me? Why don't you do us both a favor, okay, get a life, stay out of mine, all right? Chase, let's go!
Abigail: Thank you. I guess I did want to look nice for the wedding.
Ben: You did. That's on the house.
Abigail: Thanks. Well, I have to get going, so-- you know, I never caught your name.
Ben: Ben. [Chuckles]
Abigail: Hi, Ben. I'm Abigail. It's nice to meet you.
Ben: You too.
JJ: Well, I guess that's what just transpired. [Chuckles] I-I did ask you out, yeah.
Paige: Well, in that case, I'd love to. [Giggles]
JJ: Oh, well, then that-- that's that.
JJ: I've got--I got this.
EJ: You know, I would be more than happy to help you with your homework.
Sami: Oh, really?
Sami: Mmm, I can't wait till later. You know, I want you to know how much it means to me that you are so good with Allie, and that you love her so much. I'm so lucky.
EJ: No. Me and the kids, we're the lucky ones.
Lucas: Wow, that was amazing.
Sheryl: Oh, my God.
Lucas: Yeah, I know.
Sheryl: [Laughs] That meeting we pushed back, it's just about to start.
Lucas: Damn! Damn! I'm not ready. You want the shower first?
Sheryl: No, you go first.
Lucas: You sure?
Lucas: Well, we could take a shower together. We could do that. That'd be fun.
Sheryl: Mmm. If I do that, then we are definitely not making this meeting.
Lucas: Yeah, yeah, you're right. That's a good point. I'll be right back.
Lucas: Don't go anywhere.
Sheryl: I won't. Whew.
Kate: So, Lucas, I don't know where you are right now. I guess I'll just see you at the meeting. I know you won't want to miss a chance to see Sheryl.
[Shower water falling]
Rafe: Well. Want to go for a walk?
Jordan: Sure. It'll give you a chance to tell me exactly what's going on.
Kate: Oh, and by the way, that information that Sheryl gave us about Jordan and the Ozarks... well, I think it might pay off. My detective thinks he may have a lead.
