Episode #12305 ~ Nicole gets caught disposing of the evidence; Brady & Theresa take things to the next level; Kayla asks Hope about Aiden.
Provided By Suzanne
Theresa: We might not like each other, but the important thing is we have a common enemy.
Theresa: So... I have something that might help you...a lot.
Liam: What could you possibly help me with?
Theresa: Destroying Daniel and Jennifer.
Daniel: Ugh. I know we're not talking marriage yet.
Jennifer: I know, but that doesn't mean we can't start the honeymoon.
Daniel: Oh, thank God we found our way back to each other.
Daniel: Can I get an amen?
Justin: There he is.
Sonny: Hey, you're back.
Justin: Like I'd miss my son's wedding? [Grunts] Congratulations, Sonny. I am so pleased for you and will.
Sonny: Thank you, thank you. Did you come straight from the airport, or did you stop home real quick?
Justin: I stopped at home and dropped off my bag. Why?
Sonny: Did you talk to mom?
Justin: Uh, yeah.
Sonny: Is she okay? I mean, like, about the wedding? She said she was okay, but--
Justin: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, she's more than okay.
Justin: Sonny, when you came out to us, we never imagined that a wedding day would be in your future. And here it is.
Sonny: Here it is. And I have no doubts in my mind. I truly feel like I'm the luckiest guy in the world.
Justin: Second luckiest. Will Horton--he's the luckiest.
Will: Come on in.
Lucas: Thank you. [Muttering gibberish] Oh, look at her, man. She looks more and more like you every day.
Will: Well, Rafe says that she looks like Gabi.
Lucas: Ah, come on. What does he know? You ready? You ready for your big day? What? What? What's wrong?
Will: Dad... I don't think I am.
Kayla: Dang it. Oh.
Aiden: Oh, God. Oh, my--my phone.
Kayla: Oh, oh, I am so sorry.
Aiden: No, no, that was my fault. I was texting and walking. I-I-I--
Kayla: Uh...Aiden, right?
Kayla: Yeah, Kay--I met you at Jennifer's.
Aiden: That's right. Right, right, right, Kayla.
Kayla: Yeah, yeah.
Aiden: Absolutely. Look, I-- I am so sorry. Whatever's in that box, I hope it's still in good shape.
Kayla: No. You know what? You may have saved me from making a horrible mistake.
Brady: [Scoffs] Let me guess. You are here to drop off a wedding gift for the wedding.
Eric: I'm here to see you.
Hope: Hey, this is lucky. I was just going to call you.
Nicole: Oh, hi. You know what, I'm on my way to do something, and I'm running a little late. Can we do this tomorrow?
Hope: This is about Dr. Jakub Chyka.
Nicole: Oh, my God, did you find him?
Eric: I know that we're both going to be at Sonny and will's wedding, so I just wanted to make sure--
Brady: What, that it doesn't turn into a disaster like mine did? I wouldn't worry about it.
Eric: If you'd rather that I don't go--
Brady: I said don't worry about it, man. No one in their right mind is gonna seat us next to each other anyway, right? Are we done?
Brady: What else?
Eric: I'm here to set up a time to take your picture.
Brady: You--is that some kind of a joke, Eric?
Eric: You're on the hospital board, right? Well, I've been hired to take pictures of all the board members for the annual report.
Brady: Oh, my God. Use the old one, all right?
Eric: It's not a digital photograph.
Eric: But I'd be happy to set up a new photographer.
Brady: No, no, no, no, it's okay. This'll be fun. This will be great. Just do me a favor. When you take the photograph, don't talk to me, don't look at me, all right? Just click the little button, and I'll force a smile.
Eric: Listen, can we just stop this, please?
Brady: What? Stop what?
Eric: Brady, if we let this come between us, if we stop being brothers, then Kristen wins. Am I right?
Nicole: Well? Did you find Chyka? What did he say?
Hope: It's not that. I wanted you to be the first to know that we've stopped looking for him. All the authorities have. The search is over.
Hope: He's dropped out of sight.
Nicole: So he got away?
Hope: Believe me, I'm just as disappointed as you are. I mean, he was the only one who could prove that what happened between Eric and Kristen wasn't cocoensual. At least on Eric's part.
Nicole: That's just--it's a shame.
Daniel: Oh, I am so hungry. Are you hungry?
Daniel: Because I have a taste for Thai food.
Jennifer: I am starving, but you know what, I have to meet Nicole for coffee.
Daniel: Really, wow, you two are getting to be BFFs, huh?
Jennifer: We are working on this friendship thing. I mean, it's not the most natural fit, but--
Jennifer: Uh, you know what, it's not important. Let's talk about Thai food. [Giggles]
Daniel: No, come on, tell me. I know that giggle. Come on. What?
Jennifer: It's just from I.T. That stupid flier and those nasty comments that were made about me on the message boards, they didn't originate from hospital equipment.
Daniel: Which means you can't nail Theresa, and you can't get her fired.
Daniel: You still think that she did it?
Jennifer: I heard Anne leave that message on Theresa's voice mail basically implicating her.
Daniel: I'm sorry.
Jennifer: It's all right. I mean, at least nothing else has happened. Maybe Theresa thought she pushed too far and then lost her nerve. Maybe the little games are over.
Liam: I'm not interested in anything you have to offer.
Theresa: You don't even know what it is.
Liam: I told you, I don't hate Daniel and Jennifer. I wish them nothing but the best.
Theresa: Stop wasting my time, will you? Look, I don't know what your next big move is, okay, but... maybe this'll help.
Liam: What's that?
Theresa: The key to Dr. Dan's apartment. Still not interested?
Sonny: I can't tell you how lucky I feel to come from the family I come from. When I came out, it wasn't even a thought in my mind that you and mom wouldn't accept me for who I am.
Justin: You get the kid you get. And if you're not prepared to embrace all the possibilities, then you shouldn't be a parent.
Sonny: Yeah. Wasn't so easy for will.
Justin: Don't be so tough on Lucas. He's come around in a big way. And when Arianna's your age, well, being gay or straight will be--seem like having brown eyes or blue eyes. No big deal.
Sonny: We knew it was a good idea.
Justin: What's a good idea?
Sonny: Will and I want you to speak at our wedding.
Lucas: So you're having second thoughts about marrying Sonny?
Lucas: But you just said--
Will: Well, I said that I'm not ready, and I'm not. I need your help to make it perfect.
Lucas: You little stinker.
Will: [Laughs] I got ya.
Lucas: Yeah, you did get me pretty good. Nice. All right. What do you need?
Will: First, I need to tell you some things.
Lucas: Like what?
Will: Like grandma is getting ordained so that she can perform the ceremony.
Lucas: We're talking about Marlena, right, not my mom?
Will: Right. Yeah.
Lucas: Good. Good. That was close. I mean, don't get me wrong, my mom loves you to death. It's just the wedding would be all about her.
Will: Oh, I got that. I got that. Yeah.
Lucas: Yeah. Did you tell her?
Will: Now that's where you come in.
Lucas: Oh, come on now. Really?
Will: I can't. I can't stand the guilt. Could you?
Lucas: All right, yeah. I mean, I have no choice, do I? So I will.
Lucas: What else?
Will: We're asking people to speak at the ceremony.
Lucas: What people?
Will: Great-grandma, and Sonny is asking his dad.
Lucas: Oh. Oh, that's nice. Good choices.
Will: Yeah. They'll both be very eloquent in different ways. Emotional. If only there was someone there who could lighten things up... or make silly faces, stuff like that.
Lucas: Are you serious?
Will: Would you?
Lucas: What are you talking about, would I? Of course. You know, I would be honored.
Aiden: Oh, wow, that's quite heavy. What is in here?
Kayla: A--what isn't?
Aiden: Excuse me?
Kayla: My grand-nephew's getting married.
Aiden: Whoa, wait a minute. Did you just say grand-nephew? Because you are way too young to have a grand-nephew.
Kayla: [Chuckles] Uh, thank you.
Aiden: You're welcome.
Kayla: Anyway, you know, I waited too long to shop, and I got stuck buying everything they registered for that nobody else wanted to buy them, so, you know, there's, like--there's a cake cutter...
Kayla: There's some coasters. There's a picture frame, one of those, you know, those battery-operated pepper mills?
Aiden: Oh! Now that's a real labor-saving device right there. That is--
Kayla: It is, yeah. Yeah, it is. And, um, and one of those, um, you know, things that peel apples.
Aiden: But, um, what made the noise?
Kayla: Uh, the wind chimes.
Aiden: The wind chimes?
Kayla: Yeah. You know what, it's ridiculous. And you know what, maybe, if I'm lucky, everything broke and I can just go get them a gift card, because they would probably like that better anyway.
Aiden: No, no, no, no. Look, if the bride and groom registered for all that stuff--
Kayla: It's a groom and groom.
Aiden: I'm sorry?
Kayla: Groom and groom.
Kayla: Yeah, yeah.
Aiden: Oh, that's awesome.
Kayla: Yeah, yeah, it is. I've never seen will so happy.
Aiden: You know, I went to a gay wedding last year. It was my aunt ivy, who married the woman she has been with for 40 years.
Kayla: Isn't that great?
Aiden: It is, it's great. But, you know, I did my shopping early. So I showed up with a panini maker. Who rocked the gift table?
Kayla: I bet you did.
Aiden: Yeah, well...[Laughs]
Kayla: Well, I-I hope that you stick around Salem, so I can learn a thing or two from you.
Daniel: Now here's a thought. Have you told Kayla that you think Theresa did that stuff?
Jennifer: I thought about it.
Daniel: Because she will take care of her.
Jennifer: Yeah, but I don't have any proof, honestly. I mean, and if I go after Theresa and she feels cornered, I'm afraid that she's gonna do something to hurt JJ.
Daniel: Yeah, or Brady.
Jennifer: Exactly, yes.
Daniel: Well, you know what? I think I set her straight, so--
Jennifer: Set her straight?
Daniel: Well, she came roaring in here saying that she had some good news for you and me, but I knew it was all a bunch of bull. She was just saying that to get in the door, but I told her, I said, "if you cause any more trouble, you will have to deal with me."
Jennifer: Daniel, you went after her again, today?
Daniel: I sure as hell did.
Liam: How'd you get a key to Jonas's apartment?
Theresa: It's a long story. I knew it would come in handy someday, though. Mm, imagine the trouble you could cause for Daniel and little jenny if you could get into his apartment whenever you wanted.
Liam: I don't know what you're talking about.
Theresa: Suit yourself. Do whatever you want with it. I'm not going to say anything to anyone.
Eric: Kristen wanted to get back at your dad and my mom, and she did. I'm not in the priesthood anymore, and you're...
Brady: What am I? What am I? Huh?
Eric: The worst part about this whole thing is that you think that I betrayed you with the woman that you loved. And there's no way that I can prove that you're wrong.
Brady: When I think about Kristen and me sitting in your office talking about how much we loved each other and you sitting there and nodding approvingly, it makes me sick.
Eric: Well, maybe we'll never get past this.
Brady: Maybe we won't.
Eric: But I see you standing here and you're hurting! I want to be here for you.
Brady: I'm good. I'm fine. I don't need your pity.
Eric: Kristen is the one who hurt you. She hurt me too! Be mad at her!
Brady: I'm not mad. You seem to be doing fine. You landed on your feet.
Eric: What is that supposed--
Brady: Look at you. Come on. You got a new profession. You got people tripping over themselves wanting to hire you and give you work. And you got a new girlfriend, huh? You know, brother, you may have fallen out with the church, but women are still falling into your bed.
Eric: Stop it!
Hope: I'd like you to come down to the squad room and read over the statement you gave the night you and Daniel confronted Dr. Chyka.
Nicole: I'm sure it's fine. I told you everything I know.
Hope: It's just a formality.
Nicole: Look, Chyka got away. There was nothing I could do to stop him.
Hope: I know. Look, I get it. Come down to the station at your convenience and sign your statement. Then I can be done with the paper work.
Nicole: And that'll be it?
Hope: Right. Unless, of course, you've remembered something else you want to add.
Justin: Thanks, Sonny. I'm honored.
Sonny: Thank you. We're also asking Lucas and will's great-grandmother to speak as well.
Justin: Oh, it's a great idea. I mean, Caroline has seen so many changes in her life, and she's always been ahead of the curve. So any pointers on what you want me to say?
Sonny: Uh, no. We just want everyone to remember the day for what it is--the happiest day of our lives.
Justin: The first of many.
Lucas: So you and Sonny, are you guys going on a honeymoon?
Will: Mm. The timing is not great. We're thinking sometime this summer. Which reminds me, I need to change. T is planning a bachelor party for us.
Lucas: All right, all right. Whoa, wait. Shouldn't you each have a party of your own? That way you can get a discount. You know, two bachelors for the price of one.
Lucas: That's right. I might use that one. Look out.
Will: Okay, well, I'm gonna kick you out right now before you get more material for your jokes, so...
Lucas: Ah! Come on, come on, come on. All right, wait, wait, wait. This actually is not a joke. Now I know your mom and I, we didn't give you the best example of how a marriage should work. But we're sure hoping you and Sonny can show us how it's done.
Will: Thanks. Come here.
Lucas: All right, I love you.
Will: I love you too, dad.
Lucas: I'll see you later.
Will: Yep, all right.
Lucas: Call me if you need anything.
Will: Okay. Everything's coming together. This wedding's gonna be perfect.
Nicole: Eric and I just want to put the past behind us and focus on the future.
Hope: I understand.
Nicole: I blame myself for Chyka getting away. And I have no doubt in my mind that he could have cleared Eric's name.
Hope: You did everything you could...
Nicole: I did. And Eric shouldn't have been forced to leave the priesthood. He should have had a choice. It wasn't fair. I worked with him every single day. I know how important his vocation is to him.
Hope: And it doesn't help that the people that took that from him seem to have gotten away with it.
Nicole: Yes. Look, Eric...he's made peace with what happened to him. I believe that. He just wants to move forward with his new life.
Nicole: I need you to know that he says he can find happiness and satisfaction in other ways. Hope, he truly is an inspiration.
Eric: I thought I was gonna be able to get through to you. I see I was wrong. I also thought, maybe... you can go home again. The idea of being with my family... seeing each other all again... sounded pretty great to me. I have no pity on you. I still love you like a brother. So no matter how angry you are or how much you think you hate my guts... I think you still love me too.
Kayla: Oh, is that me or you?
Aiden: No, that is me.
Aiden: Court convenes in ten minutes. But I'd say it was nice running into you, but I'm not sure you would agree.
Kayla: Oh, I think maybe I would.
Jennifer: Daniel, I thought that we agreed I was going to fight my own battles.
Daniel: Well, I wasn't yelling at Theresa because of what she did to you.
Jennifer: Well, what were you yelling at her about?
Daniel: Well, my mom. She's upset about Brady.
Jennifer: Yeah, so am I.
Daniel: So I asked her if her good news was that she was gonna leave Brady alone, and she said, "no way." So I just--just let her have it.
Jennifer: Well, what did you say to her?
Daniel: Well, that she's the last thing that Brady needs in his life right now, and he's gonna see what she really is just like everybody else does.
Jennifer: Yeah, well, do you think it worked?
Daniel: Well, I'd like to think so, but she seems hell-bent on causing as much trouble as possible.
Jennifer: You know what? If she spent as much energy at this job as she did on that, she would own this hospital.
Daniel: All right, you know what the upside of the conversation was? Come here, I'll tell you. It's that it is finally sinking in for her that you and I...
Daniel: We're together. Right?
Daniel: There's not a whole lot she can do to hurt us.
Liam: Did it ever occur to you I could take this straight to Daniel?
Theresa: There's no way you could prove that you got it from me.
Liam: You're out on a limb giving me this. I could snap that limb off.
Theresa: I like living life on the edge. How about you?
Liam: You hate Jennifer and Daniel very much, don't you?
Theresa: I hate them very much, yes.
Nicole: I will come down to the station once I take care of this thing I have to do.
Hope: Great. I'm sorry things didn't work out better.
Nicole: Yeah, me too.
Jennifer: Oh! I am so sorry I'm late.
Nicole: For what?
Jennifer: Our coffee.
Nicole: Oh! Ugh! Dumb question. I'm sorry.
Jennifer: No, it's okay. Come on.
Nicole: Okay. Whoa.
Jennifer: Okay. Oh, what about that table over there?
Jennifer: Okay. Are you okay?
Nicole: Yeah, why do you ask?
Jennifer: You just seem very preoccupied.
Nicole: Yeah, I guess I am.
Jennifer: Everything's okay with you and Eric, right?
Nicole: Oh, definitely.
Jennifer: Oh, good. Daniel said the two of you are talking about getting married.
Nicole: You know, if someone told me a year ago that Eric and I would be even together, I would have said they were crazy.
Jennifer: A wonderful thing has happened for you.
Nicole: Yeah, but it happened by default.
Jennifer: Well, I want you to know Eric and I have been spending a lot of time together since he got that job at the hospital, and he loves you very much.
Nicole: I know he says that, but I just don't-- I don't feel worthy.
Nicole: Because his life blew up, and I'm getting everything I ever wanted.
Jennifer: Okay, but it's not like you pulled strings to make that happen. You went after that doctor to prove that Kristen drugged Eric. And you had to know that if you succeeded, he would have gone back to the priesthood and you would have lost him. So you put his happiness above your own. So how do you feel that you are not worthy?
[Knock at door]
Daniel: Come on in.
Eric: Hey, I'm sorry to bother you. I was just looking for Jennifer.
Daniel: Ah, she just left.
Eric: Not a problem. It'll keep till tomorrow. Actually, I wanted to say I was sorry about ruining your party last night.
Daniel: Ah, no, you didn't ruin it. Actually, Nicole already apologized. It sounds like you two worked things out, and that's the important thing.
Daniel: Seems like it's getting pretty serious.
Eric: It is.
Daniel: Is something wrong?
Eric: I don't think you could understand.
Daniel: Sorry, man. Didn't mean to butt in.
Eric: No, no, you're not. It just hasn't been a great day. That's all. Maybe I should talk to somebody.
Daniel: Well, there you go. Look, I'm no preacher, man, but look, sit down. Have a seat.
Eric: I, uh... I told Nicole I wanted to marry her. Now I don't know if I can go through with it.
Hope: I'm really looking forward to this wedding.
Hope: It's just so great. I mean, it's so wonderful when two really good people find each other in this crazy, old world of ours, isn't it?
Kayla: I know. Isn't that true?
Kayla: Hey, you know, speaking of good people, I-I just ran into Aiden Jennings.
Kayla: Yeah. You know him, don't you? What do you think of him?
Brady: Mmm. Hey.
Theresa: Hey. You were supposed to pick me up an hour ago.
Brady: I forgot.
Theresa: Don't you have a phone? Been calling and texting you every five minutes.
Brady: You know what, Theresa, I'M... I'm lousy company tonight, but I promise I will call you later.
Theresa: No, they've gotten to you, didn't they?
Brady: They've got--who?
Theresa: Who else? God! Daniel and Jennifer and Maggie and your father and everyone else who hates me, they told you to freeze me out, right?
Brady: Uh, no, that's not what happened actually.
Theresa: No, don't give me that. I know you want me around. You're just not man enough to stand up to them.
Brady: Okay, take it easy. Leave me alone. It's nothing personal.
Theresa: No, you know, I get it now.
Brady: Well, good for you. What are you-- what are you doing?
Theresa: Do you like living this way, Brady? Just letting everyone else tell you how to live your life?
Brady: You think you should be the one to tell me how to live my life?
Theresa: No, I don't want any part of you. I don't want any of it. So you know what? Do me a favor. Don't call me, all right? Don't call me tomorrow. Don't call me ever again. I'm gonna find myself a real man.
Brady: [Grunts] Let me make something clear to you, all right? Nobody tells me what to do. Not my father and especially not you. You understand me?
Theresa: That's more like it.
Justin: Thank you. Lucas, I'm glad you could make it. I just thought it'd be a good idea for us to raise a glass to our sons' future together.
Lucas: You know what? That sounds good. To Sonny, the man who makes my son so happy.
Justin: And to will, who fought hard to be who is. He's going to be a great husband.
Lucas: Here we go. You know, I was telling will that when he and Sonny, you know, come up against a problem, they should just think about what Sami and I would do and then do the exact opposite.
Justin: [Laughs] Lucas, you didn't do everything wrong. I mean, you did produce a pretty spectacular son.
Lucas: I could say the same thing about you and Adrienne.
Justin: To us... and to the parents of out, proud, gay sons everywhere.
Lucas: Hear, hear. Well said.
Sonny: Maggie said everything's under control at the house, so all we have to do...
Will: Is go to the bachelor party and have fun.
Will: Ah. It's my mom. Hi, mom. Um...yeah. We thought it would be really cool for her to perform the ceremony and-- well, yeah, we were gonna tell you. Tomorrow morning. I'm sorry.
Will: I'm sorry.
Sonny: [Mouths silently] Hey, mom. So you've talked to dad. Yeah, it's gonna be dad, will's dad, and will's great-grandma. What do you mean, "is that everyone?"
Will: Well, because we wanted you to enjoy the wedding without having to do a job. Yes, I know that you would do anything for me.
Hope: I don't know Aiden that well.
Kayla: But you do know him, right?
Hope: Oh, yeah, yeah. I mean, I know him. His son and Ciara are in the same class, and we did cochair that bake sale together.
Kayla: Um, and he told you he was a widower, right?
Kayla: Well, um...
Kayla: [Giggles] Do you know if he's-- is he seeing anyone?
Hope: Are you interested in him?
Kayla: I don't know with that reaction. I don't--should I not be?
Daniel: So you have to choose between Nicole and the church?
Eric: I guess that's what it comes down to.
Daniel: Yeah, well, that's a hard choice for a guy like you.
Eric: But, fortunately, Nicole and I haven't talked about a wedding date.
Daniel: All right, well, I know you, and you are gonna follow your conscience. You're gonna do the right thing for both of you even if it's not easy.
Eric: I sure hope so.
Daniel: Yeah. Nicole seemed so happy here today. Does she know there's a problem?
Eric: [Sighs] Not yet.
Daniel: Well, she's taking that marriage idea and is sort of just running with it.
Eric: Yeah, I think I need to sit her down and talk to her about it.
Daniel: I don't mean to tell you what to do, but I think the sooner you talk to her, the better.
Jennifer: JJ has been doing his community service. He's been keeping his grades up. So, I mean, I just can't thank you enough for not turning him in. Am I just completely boring you?
Nicole: Mm! No.
Nicole: No, you're not.
Jennifer: You just keep looking at your watch, so I--
Nicole: [Sighs] I just remembered that I... I told somebody I would meet them for a story I'm doing. And, um, this might be the only chance that I have to interview him.
Jennifer: Is it a big story?
Nicole: Could be.
Jennifer: Really? Can I know your source?
Nicole: Ugh! I can't tell you, I'm sorry.
Jennifer: I'm just trying. No, I completely understand. You know what? Let me get our check, and then we can go.
Nicole: Oh, okay, thank you.
Jennifer: Okay, we are set.
Nicole: Oh, how much do I owe you?
Jennifer: Oh, nothing. It was my treat.
Nicole: Okay, well, I'll get you next time then. Thank you very much.
Jennifer: Sure. Aww, this audit will take days.
Will: I love you too.
Sonny: Yeah, I'll see you tomorrow, mom. I love you. Was your mom hurt that we didn't ask her to speak?
Will: She did mention that three generations of my family were taking part and she wasn't.
Sonny: So what'd you say to her?
Will: Well, I mentioned that your mother was speaking either, and that seemed to do the trick.
Will: What did yours want?
Sonny: No, she was fishing for info. She wanted to make sure that your mom wasn't speaking either. And she was like, "oh, you know, my feelings aren't hurt. Just that your father and will's father and Caroline Brady are speaking at your wedding and not your own mother," but she said it's gonna be wonderful and it's gonna be fine.
Will: [Laughs] Wow. I mean, I wish mine had been that subtle. Basically said that if your mom opened her mouth that my mom said she would have a speech prepared.
Sonny: Huh. Well, they must be acting like that because they love us so much, right?
Will: Yeah! Yeah, yeah.
Will: Still... kind of glad it's gonna be our dads doing the talking.
Sonny: Right, yeah, me too.
Justin: So do you think we should coordinate before the wedding?
Lucas: Well, I plan to wear a powder blue tuxedo and white patent leather loafers.
Justin: Wow. Actually, I was talking about our speeches.
Lucas: Oh, well, all I know is will told me I was supposed to be the comic relief.
Justin: Relief? Relief from what?
Lucas: Well, I'm sure it was just a figure of speech.
Justin: Because I know how to be funny.
Lucas: I'm sure he wasn't saying that you were long-winded or boring or anything.
Justin: Yeah, yeah, I had 'em in the aisles at the last bar association dinner.
Lucas: Really? Sorry I missed that.
Justin: You know what? Maybe we should just skip the whole coordinating of speeches.
Lucas: You're not gonna try to be funny, are you, Justin?
Justin: No. I don't try to be funny. My humor is more natural, you know, organic.
Justin: Not the jokey shtick that just sort of lays there.
Lucas: Yeah, yeah. Well, you know what they say. Dying's easy, comedy's hard.
Justin: Actually, it was the famous tragedian Edmund Kean who said that on his deathbed.
Justin: Not that this is a competition or anything.
Lucas: No, no, no way.
Hope: I just think that Aiden is kind of, I don't know, complicated.
Kayla: You don't sound like you like the guy very much.
Hope: I'm not saying I don't like him exactly.
Kayla: Well, that's not a rave review.
Hope: I'm just saying, the more I get to know him, the more I can't figure him out. It's not like he's a serial killer or anything.
Kayla: Oh, that makes me feel better.
Hope: I'm just saying, I think you should make up your own mind about him. That's all. Make your own opinions.
Kayla: You know, I just feel like I have sort of been on a shelf, you know, since Steve and I split. And he is a really charming, intelligent--seems like a super-nice guy. You don't--you don't-- you don't agree with that?
Hope: I just-- you know, he's just-- no, he is. He is. I'm being tough on him, but he's just not all of those things. Although maybe some of the time he's some of those things.
Kayla: And the rest of the time?
Hope: Judgmental and stubborn and just doesn't budge on those judgments at all.
Kayla: Well, who needs that, right?
Kayla: Yeah. You know, I gotta get going. But I will see you tomorrow at the wedding, right?
Hope: Oh, yes, absolutely.
Kayla: And listen. Since we are both, I guess, not plus-ones...
Hope: No, we're not.
Kayla: We can dance together at the reception.
Hope: I would love that.
Hope: You slow dance-- together, you lead.
Kayla: [Laughs] Yeah, okay. Good night.
Eric: Hey, Nicole, it's me. Call me as soon as you get this. It's important.
Nicole: [Sighs] Okay. Chyka's gone, and this is it. Oh, don't kid yourself, Nicole. I mean, you could do the far, far better thing and actually show Eric this. But then, of course, he'd jump right back into the collar by tomorrow. And in spite of all the tortured talks you had about him choosing you for all the right reasons, bottom line is you'll take him any way you can get him. Looks like the decision's been made.
Hope: How much of that did you hear?
Aiden: Oh, I heard every word.
[Both breathing heavily]
Daniel: Hey. Wow, you're back soon.
Jennifer: Yes, and I'm starving, so let's go get that Thai food.
Daniel: Ah, sorry. Already ordered.
Jennifer: [Gasps] Phooey!
Daniel: Yeah, that wasn't on the menu, but I have some spring rolls right here.
Jennifer: Ooh, all right. I'll take that. Yum.
Daniel: A little deep-fried?
Jennifer: Thank you, yes.
Daniel: All right. So what happened with Nicole? She stand you up?
Jennifer: Mm-mm. She was there, but I got the impression she wanted to be someplace else.
Nicole: Oh, come on, I know I have matches in here somewhere. What? Oh, great. Now what do I do?
Liam: Ma'am, are you all right?
