Sami: Hi. [Gasps] Look at her smile. Are you as happy to see me as I am to see you? Yes, you are.
Gabi: Oh, I love that necklace, Sami.
Sami: Oh, thank you. EJ gave it to me for Valentine's Day.
Gabi: Cool. I'm just killing some time, giving Will and Sonny some alone time in the apartment.
Sami: Oh, that's really nice of you.
Gabi: Yeah, I'm a sucker for romance.
Sami: Which is a lovely thought, as long as you don't mix it with any thoughts about Nick.
Gabi: Oh, come on. Sami, stop. Come on.
Gabi: I mean, you guys just never give up. "Nick's a liar. Nick's evil."
Sami: He is all of those things.
Gabi: Well, how come it's okay if you're with EJ, and if I give Nick the benefit of the doubt, it's all wrong? I mean, think about it. What's the difference?
Nick: EJ. Hey. Uh, you have a second? I would love to talk to you.
EJ: I can't imagine a single word from you that I would want to hear.
Nick: Oh. Well, okay, then how about two words? "Attempted murder."
Hope: I didn't know you were a lawyer.
Aiden: I am.
Hope: And Justin had you stand in for him at my cousin's sentencing hearing.
Aiden: He did. Well, the deal was set. I just had to make sure nothing changed. So, I had no idea you were related. I must say your family's very nice.
Hope: And I'm the exception? Is that what you were going to say?
Jennifer: I am so happy, I could explode.
JJ: If you squeeze any harder, I'm going to explode.
Abigail: Hey. Give her a break. You just got probation-- community service. That is a huge win for all of us.
JJ: You got that right.
Jennifer: Now, listen, honey, I know that you don't go...
[Cell phone rings]
Jennifer: For this kind of thing, but I just--oh, that's Hope. I have to go tell her the good news. I'll be right back.
Abigail: You okay? You just had a major win, and you're acting like you lost.
JJ: Yeah, I'm good.
Abigail: All right. Who you calling?
JJ: I just figured I'd text Daniel.
Daniel: Obviously, you were upset, and we need to clear something up? What is that?
Theresa: Just--I've started to remember some things from the night I OD'd... you know, and I've been over it and over it and over it, Daniel. And you know what? You know what I figured out? You've been lying to everyone and especially to me. And that's got to stop, Daniel, right now.
Jennifer: I mean, that was-- that was terrific, Mr. Jennings. Uh, Aiden. I am so sorry. Isn't that right? I mean, it was just-- it's wonderful. I'm so glad you got to meet him.
Hope: No, actually, we-- we already know each other. Ciara goes to school with his son.
Jennifer: Oh, my goodness.
Aiden: Chase. Yeah.
Jennifer: That is so wonderful. Listen, JJ doesn't know this, but we're gonna have a celebration for him at the house, and I think it would be so wonderful if you and your son would join us.
Aiden: Oh, um, well, Chase has basketball practice, so...
Hope: Aw, too bad.
Jennifer: Oh, well, that's okay. You could just join us. I mean, it would give JJ a chance--all of us, really-- to get a chance to know you better. And God knows we have so much to thank you for. Isn't that right, Hope?
Hope: Hmm? Yeah. Uh, yeah. Um, yes, it would be nice if you... joined us.
Aiden: Oh, well, uh... maybe for just a bit, then. Yeah.
JJ: I figured Daniel ought to hear what happened. You know, Mom pretends she doesn't care, but she would want Daniel to know, right?
Abigail: Let me text him. He'll probably ignore a text coming from you anyway. But, yeah... he should know.
Daniel: All right, what exactly do you remember about that night?
Theresa: Well... it's just so hard, you know. I know JJ was there, and we were getting high together. I mean, there's no point denying it. He's the one who called you to come over. I mean, that's why you showed up suddenly and took me to the hospital. But what I don't understand-- where it gets weird is you didn't tell me about any of that or anyone at the hospital. I mean, instead of just saying that JJ was there, you let everyone believe that you and I were hooking up. I mean, why is that, Daniel?
Abigail: I will take care of that thing, I promise.
JJ: Yeah. Thanks.
Jennifer: I'll see you there.
Abigail: Bye. Okay.
Jennifer: I know. I just had to give you one more. [Chuckles] I don't think you realize what a special day this was for me. I mean, I stood there, and I watched my son say how much he loved his family and how grateful he was that we'd stuck by him. And now what has been hanging over our heads for months is finally over.
Sami: You can't seriously be comparing your situation with Nick and my relationship with EJ.
Gabi: Well, why not?
Sami: Well, first of all, EJ and I have been married. We have children together. We are engaged.
Gabi: I'm talking about the things you've done to each other, and I've heard plenty of stories.
Sami: Well, that was all a very long time ago.
Gabi: I mean, you hated each other. And even after you got married, you did some things that were totally out there. You lied to him about being Sydney's father. He kidnapped her. I mean--
Sami: Okay, I admit--
Gabi: And those are all things I just heard. Imagine if I just kind of went around and asked?
Sami: Hey, you're being super bitchy with me, and I'm not sure why, and it is starting to make me mad. But if we put that aside, it still doesn't explain why--
Gabi: Okay, so what? Nick did some awful things because he loved me and he couldn't think straight. But it still doesn't compare to what EJ and you did to each other.
EJ: I'm sorry.
EJ: What is that... that scar you have there?
EJ: Is that from a lobotomy? 'Cause you don't seem to be thinking very clearly, Mr. Fallon.
Nick: [Laughs] That's really funny. Did you come up with that? That's very funny, but, um... I know, okay? I saw the look on your face when I walked into the church at Arianna's christening, and it kind of looked like you had seen a ghost.
EJ: Your interpretation's a little skewed. See, I saw right through your rather cheap theatrical entrance.
Nick: Hmm. Well, if you saw through me, then you know that I was sincere when I said that I had moved on with my life and that I'd-- that I'd changed.
EJ: Why don't we just, uh, cut to the chase, shall we? What exactly is it that you want?
Nick: Okay. Truth time. Well, first thing's first. Um, I'm not wearing a wire. So, if you don't believe me, you can just not say anything. You can just--you can listen.
EJ: Make it short.
Nick: The reason that I decided to admit that I--that I knew what had happened that night was... well, Sami and Kate--they just-- they wouldn't let it go. You know what I mean? And I thought that the best way to deal with the fallout was to basically just go to all the other people, the accomplices, you know, who--who knew that Sami and Kate had--had tried to murder me and basically just take them aside separately to talk, just so everything's out on the table and you all know where I stand.
EJ: I don't really care where you stand...
EJ: As long as it's out of my sight.
Nick: Oh, I think you care plenty because what I know counts and what happened to me counts.
EJ: Not to me.
Nick: Really? Is that why you sent those men to scour the woods to clean up any traces of my blood and DNA, because it kind of makes it seem like you were worried about it. Do you know what I'm talking about--the area that Sami and Kate dragged me through before they threw me in the river?
Sami: Okay, yes, EJ and I have a long, complicated history that was not all hearts and flowers. But that is completely different from your situation with Nick.
Sami: Well, for one thing, you have a baby with my son Will, not Nick.
Gabi: Nick is not trying to interfere with Will's custody.
Sami: I cannot believe that you are going after EJ and me to defend a man who just weeks ago was terrifying you.
Gabi: You've never been terrified of EJ?
Theresa: What? You're not going to say anything?
Daniel: Oh, my God. You knew all along. You remembered everything from the minute... you woke up.
Theresa: Duh. Like I'm some halfwit who can't remember who I was getting high with?
Daniel: Yeah, all your, uh, concern, all your little visits about being worried--
Theresa: What can I say? I like to play games. It's fun to see how many times you can fool somebody.
Daniel: Oh, is it really? You like that? Well, guess what. I don't like being played.
Theresa: Stuff the attitude, doc. You've been lying to people for months, just like I have.
Daniel: All right. Secret's out. JJ called me when you OD'd. I shot over there to save your ass. Are we finished?
Theresa: [Sighs] Why don't you have a seat? We're just getting started.
Jennifer: Oh, it's cold.
[Overlapping shouting, cheering]
Kayla: Oh, we're so happy for you. I want a hug. I want a hug. I want a hug. Oh, gosh.
Jennifer: You know, he hates surprises.
Abigail: Well, he likes them if there's angel food cake, right?
JJ: Oh, my God.
Kayla: That looks good.
Abigail: I didn't make it because it's your favorite. I made it, because, well, from now on, you're gonna be a perfect little angel, right?
JJ: That's right.
Jennifer: Yes, that's right.
Jennifer: Yay. This is the best day.
JJ: What a day.
Hope: I know.
[Cell phone rings]
Theresa: You can check that if you want. I don't mind.
Daniel: It's my mother. JJ got probation.
Theresa: Oh, that's great. Good for him. You know, I actually stopped by the courthouse earlier and wished him luck. I like it when good things happen to people, you know? I mean, I never want to see anybody get punished, not JJ, especially not the man who saved my life.
Daniel: Mm. Well, based on your disposition right now, I'm not exactly sure I believe that. In fact, I doubt it.
Theresa: Come on, Daniel. I like you. I really do. And you like me too... probably a lot better than you're willing to admit.
Daniel: I think you're misreading the situation.
Theresa: No, I'm not. You are so my type. We're gonna have some fun.
Daniel: Really? We're gonna have a lot of-- what makes you think--
Theresa: It's just that JJ got his probation, okay? So we can start over. I forget about your lies. You forget about mine. We forget that JJ was even there that night... and just be happy, together.
Daniel: So what--what exactly are you proposing, Theresa?
Theresa: I think it's time we took our relationship to the next level.
Sami: [Scoffs] Okay, Gabi, where is this coming from? I mean, for the record, I am not terrified of EJ or any man.
Gabi: Well, I mean, the way I hear it, you know, he put you through hell for a long time. And don't get me wrong. I-I like EJ. I think he's a great guy, and obviously he's changed, but because you gave him a chance.
Sami: Is that what you're thinking? You're thinking about giving Nick a chance because you think he's changed?
Gabi: I never said that. All I'm saying is that he's trying.
Sami: No. That's not what he's saying. He's bragging to anyone who will listen that he has completed the transformation, that he is a saint, that he is all love and kindness.
Gabi: You know, y-you were terrified of EJ. You hated EJ, and here you are, again, engaged to be married to him. Sami, people change. You know that.
Sami: Hello? What? No, you-- you have to-- you really need me to finish this? 'Cause I think you can do-- all right, all right. I will be there in a second to sign it. Thank you. I just--
Nick: Look, EJ, I know you were just trying to protect the woman you love, which I admire. Actually, I-I respect that a great deal. But what I am asking is to be left alone to rebuild my life.
EJ: Okay, I'll tell you what. I'm glad that you understand that I will do whatever it takes to protect Samantha. If there is any kind of threat... I'll end it.
Nick: Right... as long as I get to live my life.
EJ: See, I don't really care about your life before, Mr. Fallon, and I don't really care about your life now, but... if you promise me you'll stay away from me and Samantha and, uh, my family... I can't really think of any reason why our paths should need to cross again.
Kayla: The man of the hour. Now, didn't I tell you that everything was gonna work out? Didn't I tell you that?
JJ: You told me.
Kayla: Mm-hmm. And, um, I don't want you to forget what else I said-- that moms just want their kids to be safe and happy. And that they'll always forgive your mistakes.
Jennifer: That's right. Ooh, and you know how much I love you, honey, but one day you're gonna have children, and you're gonna understand that when you love them, that means you want to keep an eye on them and make sure that they don't...
Daniel: Theresa... we don't have a relationship. I'm not attracted to you for a number of reasons-- one of which being your little visit here today. So you're deluding yourself--
Theresa: I thought I told you to drop the condescending attitude, so do it... and man up. This is something that's going to happen.
Daniel: The hell it is.
Theresa: Maybe you want to think about that a little more. Today is your D-Day. You make the wrong decision, it could cost you your license. Now, I'm no lawyer, but my guess is all the lies that you and JJ told about the night of my OD could wind up causing his probation to be revoked. And then it's off to prison. And Jenny has one more thing to blame you for while she's crying her eyes out. Is that what you want?
Daniel: So what? This is your plan? We hook up? You come over here for sex?
Theresa: Doctor, you're definitely hot. Your body, all that money you make--what more could a girl want, right? But I'm not talking about a one-time thing. We're gonna date-- lots and lots of dates. [Giggles] I'm seeing a nice, long affair.
Daniel: Really? You see that? You're insane.
Theresa: First, you have to kick Nicole out of here. And then we'll get started. Maybe a few months, maybe longer. Who knows? You know, you're an uptight guy, but trust me. I'll teach you things that'll make your toes curl.
Daniel: Uh... [Chuckles] So apparently, uh, what-- you know me?
Theresa: Yeah. I'd say you're an easy read.
Daniel: Would you say that? Well, then you should know that I'd never do anything like that, because it would hurt Jennifer too much.
Theresa: Oh, my God. Are you still in love with that mousey little bitch?
Daniel: Wow. Oops. This isn't about me or any kind of relationship, 'cause this is about hurting Jennifer, punishing Jennifer. And for what? What, because she fired you, or is it because she saved you from going to prison by giving you a second chance? Which one is it? Think about that. Get the hell out of here.
Theresa: You think you're in control? You think I'm just making empty threats? Because I've got hard evidence that I can show you or anyone else. Your career and JJ's freedom are on the line, Daniel.
Daniel: Any chance I can see this hard evidence you got?
Theresa: Look at you--totally baked.
JJ: After two hits? Come on.
Theresa: Don't stop now, baby.
Jennifer: JJ... we just need to have a talk about your friends, okay?
Aiden: Thank you. Thank you. Mmm.
Hope: You're here.
Aiden: I am.
Hope: There's cake and coffee.
Aiden: And I'm glad to see you're not holding either. [Chuckles]
Hope: You're never gonna let me live that down, are you?
Aiden: Probably not.
Ciara: Mommy, can I have a pink phone when I'm--
Aiden: Um, excuse me. I'm just gonna say hello to Abe.
Ciara: What's he doing here?
JJ: Mom, you said it was okay for them to come by.
Jennifer: I know I did.
JJ: Okay, well, when everybody at school stopped talking to me, they stuck by me. They're my friends.
Jennifer: I realize that.
JJ: Okay, well, then can you stop looking at them like they're toxic... like they're gonna contaminate the house or whatever?
Jennifer: I'm sorry, honey.
JJ: [Sighs] It's all right. Is it still okay if I go hang out with them later?
Jennifer: Yeah. It's fine. Just don't be out too long.
JJ: Okay, no problem. Listen... what I said today, I meant it. I love you. I'd have never made it through this without you.
Jennifer: I love you, honey. Okay, just go, but make sure you say thank you and good-bye to everyone.
JJ: Okay. Um, excuse me. Everyone... I want to thank you for doing this... um, for--for sticking by me. We're gonna go hang out at the square now. Um, but you--you all are great. So, uh, thank you. I'll see guys later.
Aiden: Best of everything, JJ.
Abe: Take care.
Sami: Oh, hey. Finally.
EJ: Well, I got your message. What happened?
Sami: [Sighs] Gabi is losing her mind.
EJ: I just left Nick, who's certifiable.
Sami: Don't talk about them in the same breath.
EJ: Samantha, what happened?
Sami: Gabi is thinking about giving Nick another chance... the way that I did with you.
Gabi: Thank you.
Gabi: Oh, look, it's nice and warm in here, so we should definitely--
Nick: Hey, um... if--if you came to pay Caroline a visit, you missed her. She--she went to her Alzheimer's group.
Gabi: Oh, well, that's too bad.
Nick: Yeah. I-I haven't even seen her since I--since I got back. But I thought since I was here, I might as well have a cup of her chowder. Are--are you good? Do--do you want some? [Chuckles] Do you remember when we used to go upstairs and share a bowl of it?
Nick: Anyway, you probably just came for takeout. So it was, uh--it's good to see you.
Gabi: Um, actually, uh... I have time. I mean, I'm actually kind of hungry.
Waitress: Hey, good to see you guys in here again. Been a while.
Waitress: I always thought you two made the best newlyweds.
Nick: Oh. [Laughs] I guess, uh, somebody's a little behind the curve.
Gabi: You think?
Gabi: It's, um--it's kind of weird, though-- I mean, us two sitting here, like... like if nothing ever happened.
Nick: I mean, Gabi, as far as I'm concerned, nothing did happen... except that I was a total jerk. And those days are over. I've--I've changed.
Gabi: But--I mean, Nick, you--you blackmailed Kate into giving you a job and that other man too.
Nick: Well... Percy, yeah.
