Abigail: What do you think you're doing?
JJ: All right, here's the memo to Abigail. Here goes nothing.
Bev: JJ, are you sure this is going to work?
JJ: No. No, this could blow up in our faces, but I have to try or I'll never get free from that bitch.
Theresa: So do you think tonight would work for that dinner we had to postpone?
Daniel: Ah, no. You know what? I'm sorry. I've really gotta get my computer up and running after the other one crashed. Got like a thousand hospital files to transfer here.
Theresa: Look, I don't mean to nag, but there is a reason it can't wait.
[Knocks at door]
Daniel: You know, I-- someone's at the door. I'm gonna have to call you back.
Theresa: Ever hear of the "hold" button?
Eric: I'm sorry to just show up like this.
Daniel: Uh, it's really not a great time. I've just gotta get my new computer loaded, so--
Eric: Well, I just wanted to ask if there was any hope you could maybe kinda recover the work you did on my case.
Daniel: You haven't talked to Nicole?
Eric: And I hurt a friend... deeply... terribly, unnecessarily. It's my biggest regret.
Kate: That's all right, Harold. I know exactly where I left it.
Stefano: Katherine. [Laughs] So nice to see you. You know, seeing you here brings back all kinds of memories.
Nick: After everything that's happened between us, I'm--I'm glad I finally have you alone. I understand if--if you're nervous because of the last time that we were alone together.
Gabi: Stop it! [Gasping]
Nick: You remember that... [Laughs] Don't you, Gabi?
Eric: Why would you ask if I talked to Nicole?
Daniel: Uh, well, I thought she would've told you, but... ugh, okay, look. I'm--I'm really sorry, but the files on your case are--are all gone.
Eric: But you just said you were updating your new computer.
Daniel: They're just backup for my--for the hospital, but it has nothing on you. It's--it's all--it's all gone.
Eric: So there's no chance of you redoing the tests that you ran?
Daniel: I'm really sorry. It's just--it's too late.
Eric: It's like everything is going Kristen's way.
Daniel: Look, I feel awful about everything that's happened here, but...look, it's not over. It's not--what about Nicole's interview? What, you don't think the church will see value in that? It'd probably help your case, right?
Miles: Somebody doesn't look like a happy camper.
Nicole: I was editing my interview with Eric.
Miles: Oh, to put him in the best possible light.
Nicole: To prove how sincere he is.
Miles: [Chuckles] Ah, Nicole, look. I don't want a puff piece about how someone done him wrong.
Nicole: It's not a puff piece. Showing his sincerity is great TV. The audience will root for him. And you know what? Even if they do, it probably won't help him anyway.
Miles: At least we got the exclusive.
Nicole: That's all you care about, right?
Miles: I saw the raw footage, Nicole, and--and I know there's a lot you're not telling me.
Nicole: Just what are you implying?
Miles: I'm not implying anything. I'm gonna ask you flat-out. What's the deal with you and the priest?
Theresa: [Sighs] If you think I'm waiting for you to call, then you've got another thing coming. I'm not the only one who can make house calls.
[Cell phone rings]
JJ: I got what you need, so I need to see you now.
Gabi: The--the last time that we saw each other?
Nick: Not far from here. Over there in the square. I know you must remember how angry you were when I told you my--my plans for--for you, and-- and me, and--and Arianna. Oh, God, Gabi. [Chuckles] She looked so beautiful today in her christening gown. You know, it was strange. When I got to the church, I couldn't help but think that a year ago, you and I were supposed to be married there. Man. So much has changed.
EJ: Abigail. Now, I've tried to be nice. I've tried to explain how things stand and why certain things had to happen. And I thought you and I had a good relationship, even before.
Abigail: Before we had sex, you mean?
EJ: You seem to think that you have something that you can hold over my head.
Abigail: I do. It's about what you did to Nick.
EJ: I didn't do anything to Nick Fallon. You are playing a very dangerous game, and you picked the wrong man to play with. You will lose, Abigail. I promise you that.
Kate: Yes. This does bring back memories, like a wide-awake, walking nightmare.
Stefano: Well, that's not the way you felt when you lived here all those years...as my wife.
Kate: You have never known how I've truly felt about anything...ever.
Gabi: I have to--I have to go, I have to go see Rafe.
Nick: Look, Gabi, this isn't gonna take long.
JJ: I have more information on Nicole.
Theresa: Fine, but it'll have to wait.
JJ: Okay, look, I only have one free period. It has to be now. Do you want more information on Nicole--specifically about her and Daniel--or not?
Theresa: What is it?
JJ: I can't tell you on the phone, but it's something that I have to show you. But trust me, you want to see this.
Theresa: Fine, I'll be there in a few minutes.
Bev: Okay. [Sighs]
Nicole: I told you I worked with Eric. We're friends.
Miles: [Chuckles] "Friends." Is that what the priests are calling it these days? Was Kristen DiMera a friend too?
Nicole: You could give a seminar in sleaze.
Miles: Don't you see it, Nicole? Look, she was on the board of the school, right? They "worked" together. They were friends. This could be his M.O. He could be enticing you with his good looks and that whole forbidden priest thing to get close to you the way he got close to her.
Nicole: Okay, that's it.
Miles: Hey, come on, I would hate to see you end up in exactly the same place, in his bed and all over the internet.
Daniel: Look, I'm really sorry I can't help you, but... I don't know, maybe if the bishop sees Nicole's interview--
Eric: Daniel, we both know that nothing I say can be corroborated. I just feel like I've lost my last chance.
Daniel: No, no.
Eric: Maybe this is God's will.
Daniel: Wait--oh, now, don't go there, all right? How--how can you say that?
Eric: I love you, Nicole.
Eric: Um, I have to go.
Abigail: There he is, that bad man that you are so proud to be.
EJ: That man didn't go anywhere. He was there in the cabin. He's here now, and he always gets exactly what he wants.
Abigail: And what you want is for me to not say anything about what I know.
EJ: You don't know anything.
Abigail: I know what happened that night with you and Gabi and Nick. Unless...was that a lie?
EJ: Doesn't really matter, does it? Nick's back. Nick's fine. So why don't we all just move on?
Abigail: No. There has to be some kind of reason that you are so desperate to keep me from saying anything.
EJ: I'm not desperate... but I am determined.
Abigail: Because there's a difference? Fine, you are determined to keep me from saying anything. Is that why you came here? To threaten me?
EJ: I came here... to ask you what exactly it's gonna take to convince you to see things my way.
Abigail: I think you know exactly what it would take.
Miles: Always a pleasure, Nicole.
Daniel: What was that all about?
Nicole: Miles and I are both a little volatile. We don't exactly see eye to eye.
Daniel: What, was that about the show, about Eric?
Nicole: Yeah, it was. Look, don't worry about him. I can handle Miles.
Daniel: Oh, it's not Miles I'm worried about, Nicole. I just talked to Eric. Why--why didn't you tell him the medical records were gone?
Nicole: Well, it's complicated. I didn't feel like it was the right time.
Daniel: Oh, you didn't think he needed to know? So that's--
Nicole: Well, maybe I didn't want to be the one to tell him there's no hope. Sorry. Volatile. So how did he take the news?
Daniel: Well, he's a little shaken.
Daniel: Yeah, really, but you--see, you seem to be even more agitated than you were earlier at the hospital.
Nicole: Something happened in the basement, something you should know, something I should've told you right away.
Louis: As bad as all that?
Eric: Father Louis.
Louis: I spoke to Father Matt. He asked me to check up on you. You wanna talk about it?
Eric: I... I just found out that the medical results that can prove that Kristen DiMera drugged me are gone. The man who tried to kill us, he cleared Dr. Jonas's computer, and there's no way I can prove that I was telling the truth. [Chuckles] You know, this church just now, it's the first time that I've ever been in here alone. It's the first time that I've ever felt alone. I mean, I know that--I know He's here, and I know that He's watching us. I know He's listening to my prayers, but...
Louis: Your faith is being tested, tested hard. And all I can say is hang in there. He won't abandon you. He promised. All hope is never lost.
Theresa: Here, I'm delivering this to your mom in case we get caught, which we better not be.
JJ: Look at this. Okay, I found some really interesting stuff about Nicole online.
Theresa: Online? You jerk, I could've done that myself.
JJ: But you wouldn't have found as much as I did.
Theresa: [Scoffs] Still, you didn't have to drag me all the way over here. You could've emailed me.
JJ: We're not supposed to be in touch, right? Look at this. Well, I ju--I just had it. I don't--I don't--
Theresa: You are so lame, you and your nerdy friends. Oh, hey, I had a question for you. That pet rock you hang out with? And that hair? What is he, in a Hanson cover band?
JJ: Rory's cool.
Theresa: No, he's not. And that girl you hang out with? Man, what is wrong with her that she hangs out with the two of you? What's her name?
JJ: All right, I'll have this in just a sec.
Theresa: Whatever her name is, I think she has a crush on you.
Stefano: You underestimate me. I think I know you very well.
Kate: [Sighs] Where's Cecily? Upstairs reading Yeats?
Stefano: No, no, no, no, she's in Hong Kong on business. Or is it Italy? Gee, I don't know. I don't know for sure. Anyway, it doesn't make any difference. How is Rafe?
Kate: I haven't a clue.
Stefano: I still think we have to talk about that dinner.
Kate: I see no point in talking about a dinner that's never going to happen.
Nick: I want you to know that I really meant what I said in church today, every word. And--and you have every right to be angry with me, and you have every right to--to never want to see me ever again.
Gabi: I'm late. I gotta go see Rafe.
Nick: But you said that day that you wanted me totally out of your life. Is that true? Do you want me gone forever?
Gabi: Nick, I never--I never wanted that to happen.
Nick: [Chuckles] You don't know how happy it makes me to hear you say that.
Eric: I was just thinking now that I should be grateful, grateful that Nicole and I got out of that room alive.
Louis: Oh, it was an intense experience from what I heard. It's hard to bounce back.
Eric: It was intense. Father... Nicole and I, we admitted that we loved each other.
Louis: Well, son, does this-- does this mean you've made a decision? Are you--are you willing to simply walk away from the priesthood?
Eric: It's not that simple. It wouldn't be fair.
Nicole: When Eric and I were in the basement, I... I told him that we weren't really a couple. I just--I didn't--I didn't think it would be fair to lie to him when we thought we were gonna die. I hope you're not mad, but I did tell him the whole charade was my idea.
Daniel: Well, I just--it doesn't make a difference, I guess. I went along with it so he'd accept our offer to help, and now I've got no-- [Sighs] I've got no help to offer right now.
Nicole: Are you kidding? You've done everything you could. You've gone beyond the call of duty.
Daniel: What is this--
[Cell phone rings]
Daniel: Oh, hold on. [Groans] All right, I gotta get back to the hospital. Gotta get back to that stupid computer. Unless there's something else.
Theresa: No? No, did you ever get off your lazy ass and talk to people? Or did you just sit there and click your mouse? Are they sleeping together or not? God, you don't know anything at all, do you? Why am I here?
Bev: So I love music. Oh, and movies too.
Anne: You--you do know this is a candy striper position, right?
Bev: Well, I love to read too. Don't candy stripers hand out books to patients?
Anne: Sometimes. But they empty bedpans all the time.
Bev: Um, do they ever have to do anything involving blood?
Anne: [Laughs] You do realize this is a hospital, don't you?
Bev: You know... [Sighs] I'm sorry, I'm not feeling very well, but do you--do you mind getting me like a glass of water?
Anne: Oh, yes, of course.
Bev: Thank you.
Anne: Here, I-- [Clears throat] I have a little bottle right here. Oh, I--let me.
Bev: Great. Thanks.
Gabi: What--what I meant to say was--
Nick: I think I know exactly what you meant. You know, it's like sometimes, you do or--or you say things in anger that--that you don't really mean. I mean, God knows I'm guilty of that, with--with you, with Will and Sonny. Did you see how surprised they were when I walked in? Oh, my God. Almost as surprised as you. Look, I know that--that you really wanna get to Rafe... but there's one more thing that I really--I would like to ask you.
Gabi: What's that?
Nick: Um... will you give me one more chance?
Stefano: My son Chad feels that I should talk to you. I mean, it is something that he desires, all right? And I know how you feel about Chad. Now, you don't want me to disappoint my son, do you?
Kate: I don't think Chad had anything to do with this stupid little dinner, and even if he did--
Stefano: But he did, although I know you will not take my word for it.
Kate: You're right. I don't.
Stefano: Drop by anytime. [Chuckles]
[Knock at door]
Hospital worker: Is someone in there?
Abigail: Just a second. [Sighs] Hi, sorry, I must have locked it by accident.
Hospital worker: It's okay, I just need to grab some towels.
Abigail: Towel--I can get them for you. Here, uh... is three good?
Hospital worker: Uh, sure.
Hospital worker: Thanks.
Abigail: Sorry about all that. Oh, my God.
EJ: See? [Clears throat] Nothing to worry about.
Abigail: Really? Nothing to worry about? I can worry about the fact that I am losing my mind. [Sighs] Oh, my God.
Gabi: [Sighs] I'm just not sure what--
Nick: Look, Gabi, I'm-- I'm only asking for a chance to be your friend. That's it, and you will see that--that I've--I've changed. I mean, don't you think that we at least owe that to each other after everything that we've been through? I mean, I know how hard this last year has been for you, and--and God knows it's been hard for me too, but I don't want to dwell on the past, especially what happened right before I was leaving for New York. And I don't think that you want that either. Do you, Gabi?
Louis: The bishop called Father Matt and me earlier, and we discussed your case at length. And he came to a decision, an important one, and he wanted us to deliver a message to you.
Eric: A message?
Louis: He said that if you still believe that you might wanna be a priest again, he has a direct order about what you must do.
JJ: So I asked my mom about Daniel and Nicole, but she didn't know anything.
Theresa: No one in this house ever knows anything.
JJ: Well, I have another idea, but I'm not sure that--
Theresa: Oh, my God, just spit it out, would you?
JJ: Okay, well, I was thinking that I could ask Nicole, right? But she would probably wonder why I was asking. So you're like really smart at this stuff, so maybe you could tell me what to say when she asks about why I wanna know.
Theresa: Why do I get the feeling that you're up to something?
JJ: What do you mean?
Theresa: Something about this situation just doesn't smell right.
Anne: I'm not thinking that you're really cut out for working in a hospital.
Bev: Oh... well, you know, my father would be very, very grateful.
Anne: Okay. If you want the job, it's yours.
Bev: Ah, great. Thank you so much, Mrs. Milbauer. In fact, I am actually going to text my dad right now and let him know how great I think you are.
Anne: Well, that--what a lovely gesture. Thank you. I--that's much appreciated.
Bev: No problem.
[Cell phone rings]
Theresa: You're getting a text.
JJ: Why do you think I'm up to something? I'm trying to help you.
Theresa: Yeah, and you can't stand me.
JJ: That's because you're blackmailing me. I'm trying to get you off my back.
Theresa: I think you're up to something. I'm outta here.
JJ: I'm not--what?
Roman: What the hell are you doing here?
Nicole: No, nothing. Nothing more.
Daniel: And you know that's almost never true when it comes to you? I mean, there's always more with you.
Eric: Hey, Daniel.
Daniel: Hey, Eric. I was just leaving. I, um... Nicole, she--she just told me that she leveled with you about us or there not really being an us, and--and, you know, we should probably hash that out 'cause I'm sorry. But I really need to get to the hospital--
Eric: Daniel, it's okay. You know what? Go take care of the sick. I have to talk to Nicole anyway.
Daniel: Yeah, yeah. All right, bye. Well...okay.
Eric: You're staring at me.
Nicole: I'm staring at your collar. I thought you weren't supposed to wear that while you were suspended.
Eric: That's right.
Nicole: Something's happened?
Eric: Yeah. Something's happened.
Theresa: Uncle Roman, it's so nice to see you.
Roman: Oh, Theresa, cut it. I saw your car outside. You two have strict orders to keep away from each other.
Theresa: No, I was just delivering some work material to Jennifer. Look, it won't happen again.
Roman: Make sure it doesn't.
JJ: Well, I've gotta go.
Roman: So you wanna talk to me about this or to your mom? This can't happen again, JJ. You two are a toxic combination.
JJ: I know.
Roman: She's my niece, I love her, but she's bad news, and you can't handle her. Do you get that?
JJ: Yes, sir, but please don't tell my mom. We've been getting along, and I swear I am walking the straight and narrow.
Roman: All right. Just this once. But it's for her, not you.
JJ: Great, just what I needed. [Sighs] "Theresa is on her way. Get out now."
Anne: So can I walk you to the elevator?
Bev: Sure, yeah, great. Oh, my gosh. I'm so clumsy. I'm sorry.
Anne: I can't wait to see you with the bedpans.
Bev: You know, actually, please don't let me hold you up. Go do what you need to do. I will collect my things and let myself out.
Anne: Okay, right, great. And can you turn off the lights on your way?
Bev: Yeah, mm-hmm. Okay.
Anne: Anne, you'd forget your head if you--oh, you're still here?
Bev: No, finishing up. Sorry.
Nick: I think what we both need is a fresh start. I mean, isn't that what we both need, Gabi? A clean slate.
Stefano: So I hear that the christening was interesting. Nick just showed up out of nowhere.
EJ: Father, I'm not talking to you about Nick or about the christening or about Samantha. We're not talking.
Stefano: Well, actually, you know, we do have something to talk about. Regarding the work that you have been doing lately for DiMera Enterprises--
EJ: Father! Look! I can assure you I have absolutely everything completely under control.
Eric: And so I'm going on a retreat, and I'm leaving right away.
Nicole: [Sighs] Wait a minute. I mean, after all this time, all this time that they just hung you out there, the bishop snaps his fingers and you jump?
Eric: He's right. Nicole, I just need time to think. I need to pray. I need to figure out where I stand.
Nicole: So you're a priest again?
Eric: It's just the start of the process, and there's no guarantee that I'm going to be reinstated, but this is a necessary first step.
Nicole: So you want to be a priest again?
Eric: Nicole, I'm trying. I'm trying to make the right decision. Nicole, I told you how I feel about you, and that hasn't changed. I never, ever want you to think that I'm only turning to you because being a priest didn't work out.
Nicole: But if it doesn't bother me, why should it bother you?
Eric: But it will eventually bother you, Nicole. I need to be fair to you. You deserve a full--a full and rich life with a man who can truly love you. Nicole, you want a life with the whole package, someone who can share everything, someone you can build a life with. Whether I can do that or not... I think we both need time to figure that out.
JJ: Hey, Theresa.
Theresa: Are you following me?
Nicole: Well, uh... I guess there's nothing left to say except good-bye.
Eric: I think we both need to figure these things out. I think it's time that we ask Him to help us and be sure of what that is.
Roman: Listen, I was wondering if you had any further thoughts about our search for Dr. Duvall.
Daniel: Uh, no, not really, no.
Roman: All right, well, let me ask you this. Did you get the impression he was a real doctor or an impostor?
Daniel: Well, he knew a lot about medicine, but honestly, I really--I just--I don't-- I don't know.
Roman: Well, we wouldn't want anything to be easy, would we? All right, Daniel. Thank you, man. Take care.
Daniel: I don't know. Was he a real doctor? I thought that bastard took everything when he wiped my computer, but maybe-- well, maybe not. Maybe this isn't over after all.
Nick: Kate. Hey, hey. You know, I'm--I'm--I'm glad I ran into you.
Kate: Really? Why?
Nick: So we can talk.
Kate: I'm not sure I know what we have to talk about.
Nick: Oh, I think you do. I think you have a pretty good idea.
Abigail: Oh, my God. Oh, my God, what am I doing? [Sighs]
Stefano: Ah. Samantha returns. [Grunts, sighs] I will leave you alone, hm? And I certainly hope that everything can be worked out. Buona fortuna.
EJ: Certainly going to need that.
