Brady: Hey. Hey, s-- I'm sorry. Sorry, I'm late. [Laughs] I'm Brady. I'm here to get this party started.

Wanda: Brady, are you drunk?

Brady: No. No, you don't come to AA meetings drunk. That's a no-no. I take--I take this whole thing very, very seriously. Thank you very much. [Grunts] Way more seriously than this one does, tell you that.

Nicole: [Sobbing]

Eric: I love you, Nicole.

Daniel: Hey.

Eric: Hey.

Daniel: How--how you feeling?

Eric: Better, thanks. When am I getting out of here?

Daniel: Well, this morning, for sure. You've rebounded amazingly well, and fast.

Eric: [Chuckles] What about Nicole?

Daniel: Well, before we talk about Nicole, there's something else I want to talk to you about.

Eric: No, I want to talk about Nicole now. I need to know she's gonna be all right. Nicole. [Sighs] Nicole, hey.

Nicole: [Gasps] Eric. [Sighs]

Hope: He's right? Father Matt, do you hear what he's accusing Ciara of doing to his son? Excuse me, my daughter does not pick on other children. She is a very kind, sweet, lovely, young lady. She doesn't even have it in her to be mean or hurtful, or whatever you're accusing her of doing.

Matt: Hope, I'm afraid it's true. Ciara has been having a problem with Chase ever since he transferred to St. Luke's last November.

Hope: What do you mean, a problem?

Aiden: [Scoffs] She's made his life miserable, that's what it means.

Hope: I'm talking to Father Matt.

Aiden: Do you have any idea how hard it has been for my son to have to adjust to a new town, a new school, and then come here and endure this?

Matt: Hope, I know how terribly upsetting this is for you.

Hope: Yes. Yes, it is. But I'm the one who's sorry. I had no idea this was going on... obviously.

Aiden: [Scoffs] I mean, how could you not?

Hope: What?

Aiden: Does your daughter not talk to you about what goes on in school? Or maybe you're just not interested? Maybe that is why she's acting out at school, because you don't have time for her. What kind of parent are you?

Julie: The more I dig into this, the more certain I am that something terrible has happened to him.

Gabi: [Whimpering]

Nick: [Grunts]

Gabi: [Whimpers]

Julie: Are you all right?

Gabi: I'm--

Julie: I've upset you again. I'm so sorry.

Gabi: I'm fine, I'm fine.

Julie: Gabi, you know you don't have to lie to me. The truth is written all over your face.

Abigail: What did you do to Nick? It's gonna come out eventually, EJ, so you might as well just say it. Did you kill Nick?

EJ: Oh, good God, Abigail. After everything we've been through together! How could you even say such a thing?

Abigail: You told me that you found him being cruel to Gabi and that you stopped him, and you are desperate to keep me from talking to Hope, so tell me, EJ! If you didn't kill Nick, what else could it be?

Daniel: Well, Nicole is fine. Yeah, she's being released today too, so--

Eric: Oh, thank God.

Daniel: Yeah.

Eric: Well, if you don't want to talk about Nicole, what is it?

Daniel: Well, it's about the guy who tried and nearly succeeded in killing both of you.

Eric: Yeah, I guess we should see Hope and kind of go through that later today.

Daniel: Yeah, yeah, I'm sure Hope will let you know what the next step is.

Eric: Can it wait? Arianna's christening is today, and I need to be there. I want to see Nicole... right now.

Nicole: Are you sure they're releasing Eric Brady this morning?

Nurse: Yes, I'm sure.

[Both chuckling]

Nicole: I'm just really anxious to see him.

Nurse: It won't be long now.

Nicole: The one I'm in love with is you. I love you.

Nurse: Nicole? Are you okay?

Nicole: Yeah, I'm okay. I'm fine, I just have a lot on my mind.

Gabi: I don't know what you mean, Julie.

Julie: Yes, you do. Just say it, Gabi, and get it off your chest. You still have feelings for Nick, don't you? I understand. After all, the two of you were married, however briefly. When I saw you together, there was a lot of love there, so you will always have that connection. I think it's just a shame that the two of you couldn't work it out. I know that that's exactly what Nick was hoping for before he left town.

Gabi: Julie, please, I-I don't--

Julie: No, honey, I'm not trying to make you feel bad. I want you to know I understand, and I'm there for you. Something has happened to my cousin. I know he made some terrible mistakes in his young life, but at his core, he's a decent guy who had a rough life. I think it's so important that we do everything we can to help him and just pray to God it's not too late.

Gabi: I'm sorry. Okay, I can't take this anymore. I can't listen to this anymore. I...

Will: Gabi, what's wrong?

Gabi: I need air. I'll be right back.

Will: What happened?

EJ: Abigail, listen to me. I give you my word, as a DiMera, I did not kill your cousin, Nicholas Fallon. I did not.

Abigail: [Sighs] I really want to believe that, EJ.

EJ: You must. Because it is the truth.

Abigail: Okay, then tell me why hasn't anyone heard from him since the night he left Salem, which, coincidentally, is the same night that you stopped him from hurting--

EJ: What?

Abigail: Oh, my God.

EJ: What?

Abigail: Oh, my God. Was it Gabi? Did Gabi kill Nick?

Matt: Mr. Jennings, I know how upsetting this is to you, but we've got to be able to--

[Phone ringing]

Matt: Oh, excuse me. Yes, yeah? Oh, all right, all right. I'll be there as soon as I can. We're gonna have to stop for now. I'll call you both this afternoon. We'll set up another meeting.

Hope: Excuse me. Wait. Please. It's Aiden, right? Let me formally introduce myself. Start again? Hope Brady.

Aiden: I'd say it's nice to meet you, but under the circumstances--

Hope: You're upset. I get it. But we're both parents, and I'm assuming that you understand that kids act out from time to time for--oh, my God--reasons we can't even fathom. And because I'm really hoping that we can empathize with each other on this... Aiden...I mean, come on. We can resolve this on our own, don't you think? Right? Can't we? Maybe?

Aiden: No. I don't. And if we're being honest here, I suspect that you're a big part of the problem.

Daniel: Well, okay. Yeah, we'll talk later.

Eric: Hey, Daniel. Thank you...for saving my life and Nicole's.

Daniel: Not necessary. You're my friend and you know... how I feel about Nicole. Okay, take care.

Eric: [Grunts] [Sighs]

Nicole: Oh, hey.

Daniel: Hey.

Nicole: I wasn't expecting to see you.

Daniel: I wasn't expecting to see you... out of bed and dressed.

Nicole: [Laughs] I-I'm the world's worst patient, I know, but listen, did the police find any leads on that fake Dr. Duvall?

Daniel: Well, Brady saw a composite sketch of the guy.

Nicole: Brady knows him?

Daniel: Well, no, he saw him at the airport and realized after the fact who he was. He didn't get a name, but he told Hope that he was on a flight to Vegas, and he could be--I don't know, anywhere by now.

Nicole: Damn it. I mean, if--if only Brady knew who that sadistic bastard was, he could have stopped him.

Theresa: Wanda, don't you think you should ask Brady to leave?

Brady: That's--whoa, that's-- is that nice? I'm--hey, I'm here to get help, just like the rest of these little, you know, addicts here.

Theresa: Wanda?

Wanda: You can stay, Brady, but I don't want to hear a p--

Brady: I have to behave my-- I know, I understand. I understand where you're coming from, I will--I'm gonna be fine. Promise. I'm good. I don't want to disrupt the room. [Clears throat] [Whispering] Hey. You were right about last night, I was drinking a little bit. But I'm drunk as a skunk right now. So just--just don't--don't give me away. Shh. [Sighs]

Will: Seriously, Julie, we're about to christen our daughter. Why did Gabi run out of here like that?

Sonny: Did you say something to upset her?

Julie: I may have. I shared a theory about Nick. My timing may have been bad.

Sonny: So you still think something happened to him?

Julie: I'm more convinced than ever.

Will: But he's been texting-- everyone, apparently.

Julie: Will, I don't think he has. I think that's all a lie.

Sonny: A lie?

Julie: I'm sure it's not Nick sending those texts.

Abigail: EJ? Did Gabi kill Nick? Did Gabi kill Nick, and are you covering for her?

[Phone ringing]

EJ: What? Abigail. Do you really think that Gabi is capable of murder? Hmm? Please, your friend Gabi? Gabi. Gabi, who asked you to be her baby daughter's godmother? Murder?

Abigail: What if Nick was about to attack her, like you said he was? It could have been easily out of self-defense.

EJ: But it wasn't. I told you. I turned up, he ran away scared with his tail between his legs. He's embarrassed by his behavior, that's all. That's the reason he hasn't been in touch with his family.

Abigail: You said that you heard recently that Nick was doing really well in New York.

EJ: Mm-hmm.

Abigail: Who did you hear that from?

EJ: Oh, mm, I'm not sure I remember exactly. Samantha probably, I'd imagine. I think she heard it from Maggie. What?

Abigail: I think that Julie is right. I don't think that Nick is the one sending any of those texts. And if everything is true that you and Gabi have said, then you two were the last to see him. Last to see him alive.

EJ: Oh, for goodness sake, Abigail, please. You keep assuming Nick's dead!

Abigail: I don't know what to assume, EJ. All I know is that you don't want anyone asking any questions about Nick, and you are trying so desperately to keep me from talking to Hope. That's-- that's why you slept with me, isn't it? Hmm? To shut me up.

Hope: I don't even know what that means. What does that mean?

Aiden: Well, obviously, your daughter feels that she can say or do whatever she wants and get away with it. And I'm getting the impression that you are the same way. You think you can extend your hand, be polite, even charming--

Hope: Oh, I don't have a problem being rude, if that's what you'd prefer.

Aiden: I prefer that you be real.

Hope: What does that even mean? Seriously. I told you, I'm sorry. I seriously, sincerely am so sorry that my daughter behaved in a way that upset your son. I don't know what else you want me to do.

Aiden: I want you to tell me that you're actually going to do something about it.

Hope: Mr. Jennings.

Aiden: Mm-hmm.

Hope: That is what it is, isn't it?

Aiden: That's right.

Hope: Uh, huh, well, this is what I plan on doing, before I condemn my daughter, I'm gonna go home. I'm gonna talk to my daughter and I'm gonna hear her side of the story, and then, and only then, will I know how to handle this.

Aiden: [Laughs] Oh. Okay, of course, which, translated into 21st century distracted-mommy speak, means you will make excuses for her.

Hope: You're a jerk.

Aiden: Otherwise, you'd be forced you to admit that you have been a neglectful parent.

Hope: Oh, my God, you are a such a jerk, but I'm sure you already know that, don't you?

Aiden: I couldn't care less what you think of me.

Hope: Definitely not a gentleman.

Aiden: Just keep your kid away from my son.

Hope: Such a jerk. Ugh!

Daniel: Every last file, gone.

Nicole: Even your hard drives? At work, at home, your cell?

Daniel: Gone.

Nicole: W--

Daniel: I have no proof--and I did--that Eric was drugged.

Nicole: Okay, so test him again. Eric would do it.

Daniel: I barely got a hit the last time. These traces were almost undetectable, and by now, any remnants would be gone.

Nicole: This is not good news. How did Eric take it?

Daniel: Well, I went to tell him before I came here. I just--I didn't think it was the right time yet.

Nicole: I think my interview will sway some people, but the powers that be are going to want proof if they're going to accept Eric back to the church.

Daniel: Yeah, well, I even hate to say this--

Nicole: What?

Daniel: Eric should start thinking about a life outside of the priesthood.

Bernadette: Please, take this.

Eric: Your rosary?

Bernadette: My brother works at the police department. He told me that horrible man took yours, so I want you to have mine.

Eric: You're very kind, but I couldn't.

Bernadette: You must. It belonged to my father.

Eric: Even more reason.

Bernadette: He was one of the best men I've known. As are you, and I've always believed you were innocent.

Eric: Thank you, sister.

Bernadette: Everyone misses you at St. Luke's, and Nicole too. I do hope you can come back soon. It's where you belong.

Theresa: I, um, put sobriety first, you know, every day. There really is nothing else.

Brady: [Laughs] Come on.

Theresa: What is your problem?

Brady: Are we buying this crap? Really? Come on. No one's buying this. She doesn't mean anything she's saying. She's like the 12-step drone.

Wanda: Okay, Brady.

Brady: [Imitates explosion]

Wanda: I think it's time for you to go.

Brady: I didn't--I didn't get a chance to share. I want to share my thing here.

Wanda: Can someone volunteer to get him home safely?

Brady: Oh, you know--oh. I'll go. You know what? You don't have to beg, I'll go. I'll go, fine. You want to--I know her. You want to take me? You can end this charade right now, and we can just go.

Theresa: You know, sure. Let me be of service.

Brady: See? Nice. Nice people. I like that.

Theresa: [Sighs] I'll handle him.

Will: Who would be sending texts as Nick from his phone?

Julie: I have no idea.

[Phone ringing]

Julie: Oh. Ah, this is Hope. I've got to see her before the christening. Well, my sister and I will get to the bottom of this.

Will: She won't give up. It's only a matter of time till people realize that Nick is actually dead.

EJ: I have told you, Abigail, repeatedly, that my being with you was not some sort of plan or some sort of manipulation to keep you quiet. That is not something that I would do, particularly not to somebody who I have some respect for!

Abigail: And I'm just supposed to believe that?

EJ: Why wouldn't you?

[Knocking at the door]

EJ: Yes, Harold?

Harold: I'm sorry to disturb you, sir. It's Mr. Shin in Hong Kong. He says it's urgent.

EJ: Thank you. Stay here. Yes, Mr. Shin. Of course, I completely understand.

Brady: [Grunts] [Groans]

Daniel: I'm going on break. Would you like me to give you a ride home?

Nicole: Uh, I-I--I'll walk. You know, need to think.

Daniel: Yeah.

[Phone ringing]

Daniel: Excuse me a second.

[Phone ringing]

Daniel: Yeah?

Theresa: Daniel, hey. I'm sorry to disturb you, but I'm just--I'm really concerned and I need your help.

Daniel: Okay, I'm at work, and this is not--

Theresa: It's Brady. He's completely wasted, and he showed up at a meeting that way. You know, I followed him to Town Square, but now I just don't know what to do.

Daniel: Stay there, I'm on my way. I'm sorry, I gotta go.

Nicole: Okay, is everything okay?

Daniel: Yeah, yeah. Listen, Eric said he's coming to see you when he's released, so he should be here any minute.

Nicole: Okay.

[Both chuckle]

Daniel: I will see you at home.

Nicole: Yeah. Bye. [Sighs] I'm glad you're all right.

Eric: We should talk.

EJ: Uh, no, not at all, Mr. Shin, you're very welcome. Thank you.

Harold: Sir?

EJ: Gabi.

Harold: She insisted this was urgent as well.

EJ: It's fine.

Gabi: Julie knows everything.

EJ: Julie has been watching far too many whodunits in her golden years. She doesn't know anything.

Gabi: No, EJ, she said-- she said--

EJ: It doesn't matter what she says. She thinks she may know about those text messages. She can't prove they're not Nick.

Gabi: How do you know that's what she's been saying?

EJ: Her voice travels. It doesn't matter, the point is, it's nonsense.

Gabi: It's not nonsense! Okay, EJ? It's not! It's the truth! Something horrible did happen to Nick, and Kate's been sending those texts, and Kate and Sami and I, we killed him. I killed him. Oh, my God, this is-- this is a nightmare! Oh, my God, this is my worst nightmare! [Sobbing]

Will: Look, for now, for today, let's make this day special for us, for our little girl. Besides, it'll probably be a few more weeks before people become genuinely suspicious.

Abigail: Where's Julie? I need to speak with her immediately.

Theresa: Hey.

Brady: Hey. What are you do--what are you doing here?

Theresa: You know what? No words, just keep drinking.

Brady: Just keep--oh.

Daniel: Theresa!

Theresa: Uh--Brady, please!

Daniel: Brady! Theresa!

Theresa: Come on, I'm begging you, no more.

Brady: [Blubs] What are you--

Theresa: Oh, thank God you're here.

Daniel: Hey, hey, Brady. Brady, Brady, look at me. Look at me, hey, look at me. It's Daniel.

Brady: Daniel! What's up, Danny?

Daniel: How much have you had to drink? How much?

Brady: Um...a little bit.

Daniel: Yeah, a little bit?

Brady: I'm good, man.

Daniel: Oh, you're good? You did the right thing by calling me. All right, you get one arm, I'll get the other. Here we go, come on.

Brady: Whoa, whoa, where are we going?

Daniel: You're following me. We're going home, let's go.

Brady: I don't need to go-- you guys are crazy. I don't need to go home.

Daniel: Come on.

Eric: I was really worried about you last night. You know, I just wasn't going to feel okay until I saw you in person.

Nicole: I felt the same way. Your head's not hurting or anything?

Eric: No, no, it's nothing. Listen, about what we said to each other last night, I know that it must be kind of confusing, and...

Nicole: [Chuckles] You don't have to explain. We both thought we were going to die. So we can just pretend it never happened.

Eric: No, no, no, we can't. I meant what I said, and I will not take it back. I love you, Nicole.

Nicole: I love you. But it doesn't really matter, because you love the church, right?

Hope: What's going on with you, baby?

Julie: Hope, thank you for seeing me before the christening.

Hope: Yeah, of course. Listen, Julie, I really do think you're overreacting about Nick.

Julie: Well, you're gonna change your mind when you hear what I found out.

Will: You seem upset.

Abigail: I just really, really need to speak with Julie, so where is she?

Sonny: She left to go see Hope.

Abigail: Where?

Sonny: I don't know, but they'll both be here at the christening later.

[Baby babbles]

Will: Can you look after her for just a minute? We have to go get something straight with Father Matt.

Abigail: Oh, no, no. Actually, I don't think I can, Will.

Will: There you go. Okay, here.

Abigail: But I don't--

Will: Here you go, you got her?

Sonny: You'll be great.

Will: Yeah, she loves you.

Abigail: Okay.

Will: Yeah, there you go. Thank you.

Sonny: Thank you.

Will: Thanks. That was 100% about Nick. If she tells Hope what she knows--

Sonny: Gabi is sunk.

Will: That also implicates EJ, and he actually hasn't done anything wrong, for once. I'm gonna tell EJ.

EJ: Okay, you don't have anything to worry about. All right? Hey, look at me. Just focus on your beautiful baby girl's christening, okay? I will keep your secret safe. I haven't let you down so far, have I?

Gabi: No. No, you haven't. I'm sorry. I know that you'll handle Julie the same way you handled Abigail.

EJ: Heaven forbid.

Gabi: What?

[Phone ringing]

EJ: Nothing. It's William. Oh, great. We have to go to the church.

Gabi: What, did something happen?

EJ: I'll explain on the way.

Daniel: Okay. You're lucky you don't have alcohol poisoning.

Brady: [Sighs] I feel cold.

Daniel: Can you just get a glass of water from the bar please? Sit down, man, sit down.

Brady: [Groans]

Daniel: What is it, just booze?

Theresa: Yeah, it looks like it. You know what, I'll go find some.

Daniel: Great, thank you.

Theresa: Sure.

Brady: [Grunts] I gotta--I gotta confess something to you, man. I--you're my friend, right? You're my friend?

Daniel: Yeah, I am your friend, I am.

Brady: I didn't--I didn't miss your calls because I-- because my phone was turned off. I missed your calls because I ignored 'em. I didn't want to talk to you.

Daniel: You didn't? Oh, really? And why is that?

Brady: Because--it's not important, listen--

Daniel: It's not important?

Brady: What's im--

Daniel: Go ahead. Share.

Brady: What's important is that Nicole and Eric could've died, and I didn't even answer my phone. That's why--that's why it's important.

Daniel: No, that's just a bit of a stretch, man.

Brady: No, it's not. It's not, because--because if I would've known what was going on, then I could've seen that guy in the airport, and I would've known exactly what he was doing. I would've--I would've known that he was guy.

Daniel: You know what the good thing is? They're both okay.

Brady: I'm--I'm--I'm a bad guy, man.

Daniel: Okay, no, you're not a bad--no, you're not.

Brady: Yeah, I am.

Daniel: No, you're not a bad guy, you are a person--

Brady: I am a bad guy, Daniel, and I hate my brother so much! I hate that guy!

Eric: I have a deep devotion to the church.

Nicole: And if they take you back?

Eric: I'm not sure what's going to happen. Come here. The only thing, Nicole, that I am clear about is that I don't want to start anything with you just because the church rejected me.

Nicole: Okay.

Eric: Hey, I just think that it would be a sin against God... and you. Listen, if we're gonna do this, I need to know we're gonna do this for the right reasons. So for now, I just need time. I just need time to find my own path, regardless of what the church does do. And I know that it's... it's a lot to ask, so if you can just be patient with me.

Nicole: I can. I can, no pressure. Either way, I just want you to be happy, that's-- I want that more than anything.

Julie: So you see, it's not just me. Jessica and Shawn-Douglas and Aunt Marie, they all agree, the texts from Nick don't sound like Nick. Well, what was yours like?

Hope: Well, I guess when I think about it, maybe they were a little off.

Julie: You see, something is not right here, Hope.

Hope: Listen, I am not opening a formal investigation. Julie, I can't. Don't look at me like that. Hey, there is no evidence of foul play here. Okay, you know what I can do? I will ask a few questions off the record and we'll see what we come up with, okay? I'm sure everything's fine.

Julie: Start with Gabi.

Hope: Start with Gabi? Why?

Julie: Well, when I told her my theory about Nick, her reaction was very strange.

Hope: How so?

Julie: As though she knew more than she was saying.

EJ: Where's Abigail?

Will: We left her in the church to watch Arianna.

Gabi: Did she talk to Julie?

Will: Yeah. And she's with Hope right now.

Gabi: Oh, my God. That's even worse.

EJ: Julie has a theory. Hope can't do anything with her. Abigail's our primary concern. Let me talk to her, alone.

Sonny: Good luck.

EJ: She's beautiful, isn't she? She's so innocent.

Abigail: Unlike us.

EJ: You know, the day that I came to Smith Island... I followed you there to stop you from talking to Hope about Nick. But that's not why I slept with you. I slept with you because I couldn't stop myself.

Daniel: I'll--I'll stay with him till my mom gets here.

Theresa: Okay.

Daniel: Thank you for helping out with my friend today.

Theresa: Well, I'm just like he is, you know. Hey, Daniel, I would still like some time to talk about the night that I OD'd. I mean, it would really help with my own recovery.

Daniel: Uh, sure. Yeah, yeah, we can do that. I'll--I'll call you. But again, thank you. I-I owe you one.

Theresa: Score one for Theresa.

Daniel: [Sighs]

Eric: I better get going. I don't want to be late for the christening.

Nicole: Of course.

Eric: Thank you for understanding.

Nicole: How do I tell him he has practically no chance of being a priest again? I don't--I don't want him to think that I'm trying to sway his decision, but I have to do right by him. But what's right?

Will: You've got to stay calm, Gabi.

Gabi: Okay, if someone else-- one more person--tells me to stay calm, I am going to lose my mind--actually, you know what? There's nothing to lose, because it's gone, all right?

Sonny: Gab--Gabi, Gabi, let's just go outside, take a walk. Let's get some fresh air.

Gabi: I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go alone.

Will: Do you think EJ can convince Abigail to stay quiet?

Sonny: I don't know.

[Door opening]

Julie: Ah. Is Abigail here? I saw her car parked outside.

Abigail: Thank you for saying that, EJ. But even if it is true, that what happened between us just... happened, and you and Gabi have nothing to hide. Nick is my cousin. EJ, he's my family, and I need to tell Hope everything that I know.

EJ: Well, I understand that, and I admire it. But today is this little girl's special day. I don't think that you want to ruin it for her or her parents, so if you wish to say something to Hope, why don't you wait until after the christening? For me, okay?
