Episode #12235 ~ JJ tries to neutralize Theresa for good; Adrienne sets Jennifer up with a man.
Provided By Suzanne
Abigail: Oh, no, it's me, mom. Where is JJ?
Jennifer: He was running some errands for me, but I thought he'd be back by now.
Abigail: Oh. Huh. Are you worried?
Jennifer: Yeah. Can't help it. And you're not trying to talk me out of it. Why?
Abigail: Mom, I didn't tell you something about JJ, and I think I should.
JJ: "Need to meet ASAP." I can't do that. It's too risky, Theresa.
Theresa: Riskier than this little video that could send you to prison in two seconds flat?
JJ: That bitch goes down today.
[Knock at door]
Theresa: Hi, Maggie.
Maggie: Hi, Theresa. Since you're having trouble getting to an AA meeting, we decided to bring the meeting to you.
EJ: Well, I don't care that miss DiMera did not expect that level of detail. I require it. I'm not interested in your excuses. I'll be down tomorrow. Be prepared to convince me you're up to the task.
Kate: Let me guess. Your psycho sister left you another fine mess to clean up?
EJ: Kate, such a pleasure to see you.
Kate: Ah, I'm right, aren't I? She nearly torpedoed countess W.
Will: Sonny was in that closet right there in between two coats. He heard every word.
Sami: What words? You mean--you mean when Gabi and Kate and I were--
Will: Plotting your next move, yeah.
Gabi: I'm scared to death that someone is gonna figure out what the three of us did, okay? That we murdered Nick.
Sami: Sonny heard?
Will: Mm-hmm. So don't even try to deny it.
Gabi: You know, don't you?
Sonny: Know what?
Gabi: You know about Nick.
Sonny: I need to go.
Gabi: No, Sonny, please hold on. Just give me a chance to explain.
Will: I hate ambushes, mom.
Sami: Well, it wasn't--
Will: You know that.
Sami: Oh, right, the surprise party.
Will: Yeah, Sonny told me everything you said. He texted me everything you said.
Sami: Wait a second, your boyfriend was hiding in the closet...
Sami: And then he was eavesdropping on us, and then he texted you everything? That is the most devious, underhanded thing I have ever heard, William.
Will: Really? You're making a stink about eavesdropping, mom?
Sami: He could ruin everything.
Will: Listen, I already guessed what you were up to, okay? I'm smart.
Will: But don't blame Sonny. 'Cause I was the one who put him up to it.
Sonny: There's no explanation that can make this right. How could you possibly think there is?
Gabi: I didn't have anything to do with this. It was all Nick.
Sonny: But somehow Kate and Sami got sucked into this.
Gabi: Only at the end, and they were trying to talk me out of it.
Sonny: Well, that's too bad you didn't listen to them.
Gabi: But I did, Sonny.
Sonny: That didn't change what you did to Nick, though, did it?
EJ: You know, you've always had such a rich fantasy life, Kate. I suppose it's probably how you fill your empty hours. And I wish truly that I could help ease your sad plight, but countess w is doing fine.
Kate: I saw your earnings report. Your staff is gossiping. Your company's in shambles. And even with the damage that Nick did to madworld, we're still gonna beat the pants off you.
EJ: In which world is that? The real world?
Kate: You know, I love it so much when bad things happen to bad people.
Theresa: Oh, Maggie, this is so much more than I could have asked for.
Maggie: Well, I know you don't want to go to a meeting alone, and a lot of people feel that way. That is why you haven't been yet, isn't it?
Theresa: Yeah, but I'm working up to it.
Maggie: Well, no need. We're here to break the ice. This is Juanita and her friend.
Maggie: And Juanita has agreed to be your sponsor. Isn't that wonderful?
Abigail: I saw JJ in the town square with that Rory kid and that girl, Bev.
Jennifer: This is not good.
Abigail: Yeah, I know. That's exactly what I told him.
Jennifer: Wait, you talked to him about this?
Abigail: Of course I did. Yeah, he swears that he's not doing drugs, and he says that they're his only friends. And, given everything that's happened since he's been home, I kind of believe it, mom. I mean, he's developed sort of a reputation at school, and you know how judgmental people can be in this town.
Jennifer: No, I know that, and then to go with the other thing that Brady just told me--
Jennifer: That JJ was at the park. Brady saw him there and in an area of the park, I guess, where these dealers operate.
Abigail: Wait, did you ask JJ about it?
Jennifer: Yes, of course I did, and I got the same thing. That he's not using. And I believed him.
Abigail: Yeah, me too. I know, I just--are we being played?
Jennifer: I don't know. But I can't doubt every single word he says. He's seemed good, hasn't he?
Abigail: Yeah, I thought so.
JJ: Hey. I got everything on your list. Is something wrong?
Jennifer: You tell us.
Sami: How long was Sonny in the closet?
Will: Long enough.
Sonny: It's just--there's something I have to go take care of, so--but I'm gonna see you later.
Will: You know what? Let's forget it. Why don't we go Christmas shopping? Oh, I'm taking Ari to see Santa later in the town square, so you guys should come.
Sami: I would love to actually, but I'm so behind at work. Hey, Allie, sweetheart, it's time to get going, okay?
Allie: But I want to play with the baby.
Will: She wants to play with the baby.
Sami: I know. You can do it another day. Come on. Come on. We have to get going, and you're gonna be spending some time with grandma Caroline this afternoon. That'll be fine. See you.
Will: Mom. Are you gonna promise me no surprise parties?
Sami: Ha. Pinky promise. No surprise parties. I just have to tell Gabi and Kate, you know, before it's too late. Come on, sweetie, let's go.
Will: Wait, too late? Wait, too late for what?
EJ: What would you have done for exercise this morning if you hadn't bumped into me, eh?
Kate: Oh, come on. Stop. Who do you think you're fooling?
[Cell phone rings]
Kate: No. Not at all.
Gabi: Kate and Sami saved me.
Sonny: You think?
Gabi: Look, it was really hard to just give up this amazing opportunity, but, once I found out that Nick was behind the whole offer, I knew I couldn't move to New York. I mean, I couldn't feed into his fantasy.
Sonny: What fantasy? What happened, Gabi? Just tell me.
Gabi: I just--I didn't think that you would believe that I had no idea that Nick was behind the whole thing. It's just so embarrassing.
Sonny: It's embarrassing? About--
Gabi: I was yelling at Nick at the square, I was so angry-- I mean, do you blame me?
Gabi: You look upset. I mean, trust me, I had no idea that Nick was behind this. You can ask Sami or Kate.
Sonny: I don't think so. I need to go talk to my dad.
Sonny: I'll see you later.
[Cell phone ringing]
Jennifer: Did you run into Bev and Rory while you were out?
JJ: No. T I saw them today, as you no doubt heard.
Jennifer: Don't get upset with your sister.
JJ: No, I'm not. It's just...whatever.
Jennifer: I mean, don't you understand why I'm asking you that after what Brady told me?
JJ: I told you-- no, fine, ask. No, I mean it. All right, I'm sorry. It's just frustrating because I told you that I was just meeting a friend to give him his notes back, and Bev and Rory are my friends. And I'm not gonna hang out with them while they're using, but they're actually funny and cool most of the time. All right, look, seriously, I know what the stakes are here. Okay? And I'm not gonna screw up. So here it is-- I'm not using drugs. And I am not selling drugs. There's no part of me that wants anything to do with drugs. Right now, listen, I am just focused on school. I'm all about school, all right? And I studied like a mad man this week for my exams. And I think that it's paying off.
Jennifer: Okay, well, I'm glad. That's great.
Abigail: That is great, JJ.
Jennifer: And I'm proud of you. I am, I'm proud, and I am encouraged. And I am so relieved that I have my son back. And I have faith in you. I know that you are doing everything that you can to turn your life around, and that means more to me than you will ever know. I mean it. It's the best--it's the best Christmas gift you could get me.
JJ: I love you, mom.
Jennifer: I love you too. Gosh, I hate that I have to leave right now.
JJ: It's all right. I know you have to work.
Jennifer: Okay, yeah, I need to get to the office. I love you, baby.
Abigail: I love you too.
Jennifer: Okay, I'll see the two of you later, all right?
Abigail: Bye, I'll see you soon.
JJ: So what about you? You don't believe what I said?
Abigail: No, I do. But there's something else. Isn't there? There's something else that you're not telling me.
JJ: I'm just juggling a lot right now.
Abigail: None of which you want to talk to me about? Okay, fine. But if you do want someone to listen, I'm here for you. And also, if you break my heart or you break our mother's heart, I will literally wring your neck, okay?
Theresa: This is so generous. I'm speechless.
Juanita: You're from los Angeles, yes?
Juanita: You speak Spanish?
Theresa: No, not really. I have work.
Maggie: This afternoon. I checked your schedule at the hospital.
Theresa: Well, yeah, but I'm working from home this morning.
Maggie: Oh, well, this meeting is just a tune-up for what you need. I mean, you'll get a lot more done if you take the time for yourself and for your group. Come on.
Theresa: Oh, okay. Here. Here.
Justin: Sonny. Listen, I've been in court all morning long, and so I'm afraid I only have a few minutes.
Sonny: That's okay.
Justin: Is it?
Justin: Are you okay? You look a little--
Sonny: I need some legal advice.
Kate: Okay, so what's wrong?
Sami: Sonny knows.
Kate: How does he know?
Sami: He was in the closet. He heard us talking.
Gabi: Oh, my God.
Kate: Are you sure?
Gabi: Oh, my God, that's why he was acting so weird just now. He looked at me like he wanted to run away from me the minute he saw me, and then he kept going on about Nick.
Sami: What did you say?
Gabi: Nothing. I thought he was talking about Nick manipulating me into going to New York, but he was obviously talking about us murdering Nick.
Sami: Okay, would you just pipe down with the "m" word?
Kate: Okay, now wait. Are you sure you didn't say anything to confirm his suspicions, Gabi?
Sami: Hello? She didn't have to. Keep up. He was in the closet. He heard everything.
Gabi: He's gonna go see his father.
Kate: Oh, my God.
Sami: She's right. He is. I saw him earlier at the pub, and he took off like a shot, and hope said that he had wanted to talk to his dad.
Kate: So he's gonna tell Justin.
Sami: No, no, he is not. We are going to stop him. Okay, should we split up?
Kate: No, I think it's better if we stick together.
Sami: Yeah, no, absolutely, you're right. Okay, okay, well, we'll go to the club first, right?
Sami: Yeah, all right, let's go.
Gabi: This is getting really complicated, guys.
Kate: Okay, that's why you leave all the talking to us. Come on.
Sami: Okay, I think that we have to just figure it out.
Kate: Come on, let's go.
[Knock at door]
Adrienne: You busy?
Jennifer: I can take a break. How are you?
Adrienne: Me? Oh, I'm just great. I'm great. You know, it's funny. You'll never believe who I ran into--Liam Frazer.
Jennifer: Oh, pharmaceutical rep.
Adrienne: Oh, good, you know him. It's funny because he's actually an old schoolmate of Justin's, and he's such a nice guy.
Jennifer: Yeah, I've run into him a couple times. He's really sweet.
Adrienne: He is. You know, he has been divorced for quite a while now.
Jennifer: Well, that's too bad. You are trying to fix me up.
Adrienne: Mm? Mm-mm.
Liam: Don't blame Adrienne for that. It was all my idea.
JJ: You're working for mom until may?
Abigail: Yeah, yeah, my classes are done this week, but I don't get to walk through with graduation until the end of may, so I don't mind helping mom out until then.
JJ: Yeah, yeah, I'm just really glad that she doesn't have to work with Theresa anymore.
Abigail: Ugh, amen. That chick is such a troublemaker.
JJ: No kidding. Seriously, I lost her number.
Abigail: Good. Keep it lost. Bye. Mwah.
Abigail: And I'm hoping to have dinner on the table for us when we come home?
JJ: Oh, you got it. Straight out of the microwave.
Abigail: Gross. Bye.
JJ: See ya. [Sighs] Damn.
JJ: Rory, didn't you see my text? It's crucial. We got to meet, man, and we got to be careful.
All: And the wisdom to know the difference.
Juanita: Muy profundo.
Theresa: Si. It is. Thank you, guys, so much. I have your numbers, so I-I will use them.
Juanita: You call if you need anything.
Theresa: Of course.
Juanita: And when you finish your first assignment about your first step, we'll meet again.
Theresa: You bet. Thanks. Muchos gracias. Maggie, thanks again. This is--this is so special.
Maggie: Mm-hmm. Well, we need to get a few things straight, honey.
Justin: This sounds serious. Are you in any trouble?
Sonny: No, it's not me. It's someone that I know.
Justin: Sonny, we don't have to do it that way.
Justin: The old "I have a friend who..." I'm a lawyer. I can be your lawyer. So just tell me.
Sonny: No, it's-- okay, here's the thing. If someone knew information about a crime that already happened, are they liable? Like, are they in trouble?
Justin: Well, that's hard to say.
Sonny: But they could be?
Justin: Well, it depends. If someone told you, "I just robbed a bank--"
Sonny: No, no, it wasn't a direct conversation.
Justin: Okay, so someone overheard something? Well, that sounds like hearsay to me, especially if it's something here at the club. People talk all the time--
Sonny: No, the conversation that the other people had was in private. They were not drunk or anything. It was real. It was a real thing that happened.
Justin: Sonny, tell me what you heard. I can't help you if I don't know the specifics.
Kate: Oh, my God. Don't stare.
Sami: We have to stop him.
Sonny: Dad, I really appreciate you wanting to help me, and I want to give you the facts, okay, but the thing is--
Justin: Is this about will? Is he in trouble?
Sami: Justin, hi. Oh, my gosh, it's been such a long time. How are you?
Kate: Do you mind if we borrow Sonny just for a minute?
Justin: Actually we were in the middle of a very--
Sami: I know, I'm sure that you were, and I'm so sorry to interrupt. It's just it's really important. It's about will's surprise birthday party.
Justin: Well, actually, I am due back in court. I should be done in about an hour. Want to catch up then?
Justin: All right. Ladies.
Sami: Thank you, Justin.
Justin: Happy holidays.
Sami: Sorry. Sorry.
Sonny: So, surprise party.
Sami: You can't tell anyone.
Sonny: Not even the guests?
Kate: Okay, let's don't.
Sonny: Why not? It'd be a hell of a lot better than the truth.
Gabi: Sonny, please, you understand, you can't tell anybody.
Sonny: Or else what, Gabi?
Sami: Well, I mean, you just--you were gonna tell your dad, weren't you? That's what you were about to say?
Sonny: Yeah, that you killed Nick and dumped him in the lake.
Si: Would you keep your mouth shut?
Kate: Shh. You know, I think, actually, we should go someplace more private to talk.
Sami: Good idea.
Sonny: No, I'm not going anywhere with you three.
Gabi: Oh, my God, please, Sonny.
Sami: You know what, Sonny? I'm pretty sure you don't want this conversation to happen here at your very nice club.
Kate: Sonny, you're not in any danger with us.
Sonny: Let's just get out of here.
EJ: Yes, rosemary, I need you to pull all those files for me, please. Just do it. I'll be there in a few minutes. Yes, really. Samantha may be your boss, but I'm the man who signs your checks. William.
EJ: How's your sweetheart today?
Will: She's great. What did rosemary do?
EJ: Oh, nothing. Sometimes people need a little extra motivation.
Will: Yeah, but she's mom's assistant, so shouldn't mom do that? Right? What's going on?
Maggie: You asked Daniel to take you to a meeting, didn't you?
Theresa: Like you said, I-I was shy, and I didn't--
Maggie: Well, he isn't in the program. And it isn't appropriate for you to lean on him like that.
Theresa: You're right. I mean, I knew it as soon as the words came out of my mouth.
Maggie: Listen, I'm sorry Brady is not available, but I think you're better off with a woman anyway.
Maggie: Theresa, the program does work, if you let it.
Theresa: Well, I am committed. And, you know what, you're right. This was probably just the jumpstart I needed.
Maggie: Okay. Well, I hope to see you at another meeting real soon.
Theresa: Yeah, count on it. Thanks again.
Theresa: Ay-yi-yi, caramba. That meddling old biddy. You won't be able to keep me away from Daniel or having fun. Where is JJ with that weed?
Rory: Dude, what's your issue? Do you have, like, surveillance or something? What's going on?
JJ: I need some weed, man. The guy that you sent me to didn't work out. But trust me, it's important.
Rory: Trust you?
JJ: Dude, I'm sorry for the way things have been.
Rory: No, you're not, JJ. That's the issue.
Bev: Rory, can you just let him talk, okay?
JJ: All right, the thing is, I like you guys a lot. Okay, you're the best sie that I have here.
Bev: That's really sweet, JJ.
JJ: But I don't smoke pot anymore, man. I can't, and I don't want to. I don't even want to be around it. But for the rest of the time I would like to hang with you guys.
Rory: Only today you want weed?
JJ: It's not for me. I just need to take care of something.
Bev: Can you at least give us a hint about what you're up to?
JJ: It doesn't matter, okay? It's probably better for you if you don't know. But what I can tell you is that I really need you guys in my corner.
Rory: And not just for the weed?
JJ: Right, man. All right, so I have this crappy phone, and I need to test it to make sure it'll work for this thing later.
Bev: The thing you can't tell us about?
Rory: International man of mystery.
JJ: All right, I know it's lame, but I can promise that, if you help now and I pull this off, that this will all be over with.
Adrienne: Your mom's busy.
Abigail: Oh, I know. That's why I'm here.
Adrienne: No, no. Not that kind of busy. She--let's just give her a couple of minutes.
Abigail: What's going on?
Adrienne: She's just having a chat with a very nice, available man. A nice man who's gonna remind Jenn that she's a beautiful woman and quite a catch. And you're frowning. Why?
Abigail: I don't know. I just--I guess this isn't where I expected my mom to be right now. But you're right. You're totally right. There's no reason that mom should be living like a nun.
Adrienne: Mm-hmm. Neither should you.
Theresa: "How could I have ever anticipated when I came to Salem what would befall me?" What would befall me?
[Groans] "I realized I was powerless over the drugs when I was arrested." No. "When I O.D.'d and woke up in the hospital bed."
[Knock at door] About freaking time. Yes.
[Exclaims] JJ, be my hero. I am so happy to see you. I got the tree, open the door! Ahh!
Kate: Okay, so we're sure will's gone, right?
Sami: Yeah, yeah, he said he had to go shopping, and there's no one hiding in the closet this time, right, Sonny?
Sonny: Nope. Look, I'm here. There's nothing to say. You three murdered Nick in cold blood.
Kate: Whoa, whoa, whoa.
Sami: Don't use that word.
Sonny: Gabi sa--
Sami: Oh, please, Gabi? She is upset, okay? That's just her way over-the-top guilt talking.
Sonny: "Way over-the-top"? You should feel guilty for killing someone.
Gabi: It was self-defense, Sonny.
Sonny: When you hit Nick in the head with the rock, that was self-defense. When you threw his body into the river and he woke up and you pushed him back in, that is murder.
Kate: What, were you taking notes?
Sonny: You know, Kate, that's funny. I don't have to take notes. Those details just kind of stick in my head.
Sami: He was attacking Gabi. I mean, she was afraid for her--
Sonny: I get that. I understand that part. That is when you call the cops.
Sami: Believe me, I wanted to.
Sonny: But you didn't. You were afraid, weren't you? Maybe because it's your second corpse in, what, six months? You knew how bad that would look.
Sami: Actually, that's not what I was thinking.
Sonny: Great, then you'll have no problem calling the cops now.
Kate: You can't call the cops, and you can't tell anyone, Sonny.
Sonny: Yes, I can, and I will. You three might be okay lying to will, but I'm not.
EJ: Well, your mother just needed a little bit of help recently, William. She's been distracted.
Will: I know, and I know why.
EJ: She told you?
Will: No, she didn't tell me. I had to find out. And don't play dumb. Because it's not gonna happen.
EJ: Oh, I see. Well, you're sure about that, are you?
Will: Yeah, I am. I mean, she knows I hate surprise parties, so I don't even know why she tried.
EJ: Right, well, you know your mother. I mean, you put it like that, she sees it as being an even bigger challenge.
Will: I know, so can you help a brother out? I don't know. From the way she reacted, I think maybe you could--you could talk her down a little bit.
EJ: How exactly did she react?
Will: I guess a little strange. She said she needed to find Gabi and grandma Kate and do something before it was too late. Whatever that means.
Liam: It's true. The holidays are different with no kids.
Jennifer: Oh, your kids are grown?
Liam: We never had children. Since the split... I think that was a blessing in disguise.
Jennifer: I'm sorry. Please, sit down.
Jennifer: So what will you do for the holidays?
Liam: I was thinking about going out of town, maybe skiing. I'll be around for at least another week. I'd love to take you to dinner if you're free. We don't have to call it a date. I don't even remember what those are.
Jennifer: [Chuckles] It takes some getting used to again.
Liam: So if we just call it dinner, would that work for you?
Jennifer: It would. I would like that.
Adrienne: Abigail, you are a beautiful, intelligent, amazing young woman. And men should be falling all over you.
Abigail: Yeah, that's just happening left and right.
Adrienne: Well, maybe it will. You are going out in the world. Honey, you never know where a new job's gonna take you or where your interests are gonna take you. Sweetie, they say you should follow your passion because that's when your passion finds you.
Abigail: Where did you get that? On the inside of a bottle cap somewhere or something?
Adrienne: Really? Since when are you so cynical?
Abigail: Well, let's see. I had two guys that were pursuing me, and then they both just disappeared.
Adrienne: Uh-huh, is that what really happened?
Abigail: One disappeared, and one turned out to be a liar. Guess which one I had chosen.
Adrienne: So you learn from that, Abigail.
Abigail: I did. I learned from that that you shouldn't ever trust men. Seems to be the one area where I am not very smart.
Liam: Okay. So I'll be in touch about a day and time.
Jennifer: Yes, I'll look forward to it. Thank you.
Theresa: Want a glass of wine?
JJ: No, thanks. Aren't you in AA?
Theresa: Yeah, technically, but wine doesn't count.
JJ: Did you get a ruling on that?
Theresa: Oh, come on. Please don't do that, okay? Maggie was already here with her AA buddies in my house with all their earnest sobriety. It was way too much too early in the day.
JJ: So they didn't notice anything off?
Theresa: Come on, I know how to work this. I've been in AA before. Now come on. Deliver. That's it?
JJ: Well, I'm tapped. You know, it's Christmas. I had to buy presents.
Theresa: Oh. Dude, I gave you money. I at least expect a return on my investment. This is very disappointing, JJ. You do not want to disappoint me again.
Sami: Look, you think I like lying to will?
Sonny: I don't care if you like it or not. You're still doing it. Nick was will's cousin. You had no right to do what you did.
Gabi: No right? You have no idea what happened.
Sami: Oh, come on. You heard us, right? You heard what he was doing to Gabi. He had her on the gr-- Gabi, you have to tell him.
Gabi: Sonny, he had me on the ground, okay? He was on top of me, and he was pulling on my clothes, and the harder I fought, the tighter he held on, and he was gonna-- Sonny, he was going to--
Kate: Nick was the aggressor, okay? The aggressor.
Sonny: I know. And I understand that. I get that. It was self-defense. Were there any witnesses?
Kate: Yeah, well, you know, actually a little earlier there were in the square.
Kate: Yes, Nick and Gabi were there, and they were arguing very loudly, very publicly, because she had just found out that he had orchestrated the whole move to New York.
Gabi: I was furious at him, and I was screaming at him--
Kate: Well, not only that. She also swore that she would get him out of her life for good, and if he shows up dead a little later at her hands...
Sami: It seems premeditated. Just like what happened with Bernardi and me. Nobody would have believed her story.
Sonny: Mm-mm. Mm-mm. Nick was not dead by Gabi's hand. It didn't have to be this way.
Kate: Looking at you, Sami.
Sami: Oh, great. So it's all my fault now?
Kate: Well, you did declare him dead.
Sami: I thought he was dead when we were dragging him to the river.
Sonny: And when he wasn't, you thought it was okay to let him drown because you didn't like him? Nick was a creep, but he did not deserve to die. And you--you were in love with him at one point. Did you really want to see him dead?
Gabi: No, of course not.
Kate: Now you just need to stop, okay? None of us wanted to see Nick dead. It was just an ugly chain of events we all regretted. But the big question is now, are you gonna let the three of us spend the rest of our lives in prison because of a horrific mistake? We're going across America to let people try
Sonny: You want me to keep this secret?
Sami: You have to.
Kate: Okay, Sami.
Sami: Well, he does. He can't ever tell anyone.
Sonny: I do not keep secrets from will.
Gabi: You can, and you have, Sonny. Look, I wouldn't ask if it were just for me.
Sami: It's for the baby. It's for Arianna.
Kate: Think of what it would do to her to lose her mother, to lose her grandmother, and me.
Sami: Her great-grandmother.
Kate: In one fell swoop. How are you gonna explain that to a little girl?
Sonny: Telling will wouldn't put you in jail.
Sami: Why would you tell him? I mean, he already carries so much guilt. Don't you think this could push him over the edge? Think about that innocent, sweet baby. That's what we're doing.
Kate: You just never know when to stop, do you?
Jennifer: Yes, that was me making dinner plans with a man, aunt Maggie.
Maggie: You don't have to explain yourself to me.
Jennifer: Well, that's not what the look on your face says.
Maggie: Oh, Jenn, look, it's your life. If you think you're ready to date, then--
Jennifer: No, aunt Maggie, listen, it's not--it's not a date. Really. It's dinner. I'm sorry. I feel sensitive because people said I rushed things after Jack when Daniel and I got together.
Maggie: I didn't think that. You and Daniel have a long history. I mean, you already had strong feelings for each other, so, yeah, natural that the two of you would get back together.
Jennifer: Yeah, I suppose. Unlike Daniel and Theresa getting together. Nothing natural about that, is there? And talk about rushing things.
JJ: I get it. But maybe after new year's--
Theresa: No, that is so too late.
JJ: Let me see what I can do. Maybe I can call in a favor.
JJ: Hey, yeah, I need some stuff. What do you want?
Theresa: What does he have?
JJ: All right, just a sec. Whatever you want. You were the one who offered me "g" that night.
Theresa: Yeah, I did. So what?
JJ: So do you want more? I got the tree, open the door! Ahh!
Maggie: Well, holidays are the hardest, aren't they? You know, after Mickey died, I dreaded them so much.
Jennifer: Well, I am hoping that next year is going to be better for the kids. And for me.
Maggie: Well, it would have been if you and Daniel-- I'm sorry. But, you know, to be honest, I'm not really sorry. I can't help but wish the two--
Jennifer: No, aunt Maggie, I know what you're going to say. But you're right, it is none of your business.
Theresa: No way. I'm done with "g" for a while. Maybe another time. All I want is weed.
JJ: Perfect. Thank you.
Theresa: For what?
JJ: Now I have dirt on you, so this blackmail is over.
Will: All right, time for me to get her to bed.
EJ: Here. Come on. I'll take those, you take the baby.
Will: What? Aren't you--aren't you busy?
EJ: Ho, it'll be nice to have a few minutes of normality before I go into the office and shout at the staff.
Will: [Chuckles] Okay. Well...how is that, by the way? Shouting at people? Is it fun?
Kate: Okay, look, I am not going to lie to you. We are thinking of ourselves too, but what good is it gonna do to send the three of us to prison? It's not gonna fix anything. It's not gonna bring Nick back.
Sonny: That's not the point.
Sami: Well, then, what is?
Sonny: I don't know.
Gabi: Sonny, look, none of this would have even happened if Nick would have just left me alone. And he wouldn't. He wouldn't stop, Sonny.
[Cell phone ringing]
Sami: Is that your dad? I'm begging you--we are begging you, please don't say anything.
Justin: Hey, Sonny. Listen, I got out of court a few minutes early. Can we do this over the phone?
Justin: Okay. Are you ready to talk candidly?
Sonny: I am. I want to tell you everything.
