Episode #12195 ~ Jennifer issues JJ an ultimatum; Jordan confronts Kate.
Provided By Suzanne
Hope: Now, this is a vision. I am so glad to see the physical therapist is really working you out, huh? A little sweat.
Rafe: Oh, yeah. No worries there. She's brutal.
Hope: You look great.
Rafe: Yeah. Yeah, definitely. Stronger every day.
Hope: Yeah. And don't you love that?
Rafe: Hmm? Well, yeah. Learning to accept my pace.
Hope: I can see.
Hope: Sorry it's so slow. Oh, don't misunderstand. I'm not talking for you. I'm talking for me. In fact, I'm actually here to light a fire under ms. Ridgeway, get you back up on your feet A.S.A.P.
Rafe: Yes, do that. Will you do that, please? Yeah, in fact, she's down in the physical-therapy room right now, but she should be here any minute.
Kate: I already had a routine background check done on this individual. I need you to dig deep. She's a physical therapist. Her name is Jordan Ridgeway.
Kate: I'll call you back.
Jordan: What do you want to know about me, Kate?
Adrienne: I'm so glad neither one of you was hurt.
Sonny: It was never close for us, mom. I'm just relieved that Chad is okay.
Adrienne: I know. I know. Poor Marge. I know what she did was a really terrible thing, but--but, oh, God, she threw her own life away. And her son--what's gonna happen to him now? I was thinking about asking your father to represent her pro bono. You know, she's such A...
Will: Okay. Seriously, Adrienne? The woman tried to kill my mom and EJ. You want your husband to defend her?
JJ: We got nothing to say to each other.
Daniel: Well, maybe one thing... and it could change everything.
JJ: Why are you here, Daniel? My mom call you?
Daniel: No, no, I haven't spoken to your mom, and I don't want to make trouble for you. Just give me five minutes.
JJ: Okay, five minutes.
Jennifer: Stay away from my son, or I will kill you.
Theresa: Hmm. Jenny, it is such a help to me when you tell me what's important to you. That way, I can devote all of my time to making sure you don't get it.
Daniel: Just so you know, if this goes to trial, I won't testify against you.
JJ: Well, it doesn't matter. I don't need you to make the case.
Daniel: I just want you to know where I stand--that's it. 'Cause you got this me-against-the-world thing going on, and you need to know... that I'm on your side.
JJ: That's great. Duly noted.
Daniel: So is your mom.
JJ: All right, we're done.
Daniel: No, my five minutes isn't up. You said you would hear me out? Now be a man. Be a man of your word.
Jennifer: This is not about you or me. But if you want to come after me, do it. You just keep my son out of this.
Theresa: You do realize you're the one who put him where he is now.
Jennifer: This is your one warning. Stay away from him.
Theresa: Or you'll kill me?
Jennifer: You are going down, and everyone can see that. But if you even have an ounce of feeling for my son, don't take him down with you.
Kate: Are you offended?
Jordan: My references are completely in order.
Kate: Yes, they are.
Jordan: If there's a problem with my work, the hospital is completely capable--
Kate: Who said anything about work?
Jordan: What else would you have any reason to question?
Kate: Oh, everything. You are a completely closed book, and yet you have managed to insinuate yourself into Rafe's life.
Jordan: I have done my job.
Kate: You have made him dependent on you, and yet we know nothing about you.
Jordan: Rafe's recovery is dependent on one person only, and that's Rafe. And that's exactly what I told him from day one.
Kate: Yes, well, of course you would say that because you're a very bright girl and you have set yourself up beautifully.
Jordan: I-I don't even know what that means.
Kate: You act attached. You act professional. You make him come to you.
Jordan: Do you have any idea how you sound right now?
Kate: Well, I think... that I've hit a nerve, because you're acting bothered.
Jordan: He's my patient. That's all.
Kate: No. No, you see, I don't buy that. I don't buy that stance. It's way too shrewd.
Jordan: Not everyone thinks like you, Kate.
Kate: And they're less safe because of it.
Jordan: Oh, wait. What? How does this raging paranoia of yours have anything to do with safety?
Kate: I see you coming, Jordan. Don't ever forget that. And I will not stand by and let Rafe be hurt again, not in any way.
Hope: You should get back to work.
Rafe: I will.
Hope: Bye, Gabi.
Gabi: You look so good.
Rafe: No, I look like hell. I'm worn out.
Gabi: No, you look great.
Rafe: You're all chipper.
Gabi: Well, yeah. Here, let me show you something.
Rafe: Yeah? Oh, my-- why--why is that blurry? Is it just me--my eyes?
Gabi: It's blurry because Ari is--she's, uh... she's rolling over.
Rafe: Are you kidding me?
Gabi: She's rolling.
Rafe: Great, she's got me beat. That's...
Gabi: No, you're gonna be on your feet before she is. I know it.
Rafe: What's going on with you? You're all happy, and... I don't think it's just because Chad's okay.
Gabi: No, I'm glad about that. I'm glad. [Chuckles]
Rafe: [Chuckles] But?
Gabi: I can't--I can't just be happy for no reason? I mean, I had a great time at the party before things got crazy.
Rafe: With Cameron? There's that smile again. Look...
Gabi: It's just nice to be out for a change.
Rafe: Yeah, I'll bet.
Gabi: Yeah, I mean, there's-- there's school, which is great, but it's work.
Rafe: Right, unlike with Dr. Davis?
Gabi: We're friends.
Rafe: There's the smile again.
Gabi: Okay, look, it's just-- it's just easy, okay? There's just no pressure.
Rafe: Yeah... not like with you and Nick.
Gabi: Yeah, exactly.
Hope: Hey, honey.
Nick: How's it going, hope?
Hope: [Chuckles] What are you up to?
Nick: Uh, job hunting.
Hope: I thought you were working.
Nick: I am. I'm, uh, like, freelancing for Kate, but I'm kind of looking for something a little bit bigger, a little better, more permanent.
Hope: And, uh, you're looking in New York?
Nick: Yeah, and L.A.-- Lots of places. I mean... things are pretty much over for me here, don't you think?
Hope: I do. Yes.
Nick: Wow. Really? I kind of thought you'd at least try to talk me out of it.
Hope: Honey, I wish I could, but I want what's best for you. And if I lie to you, I'm not doing you any favors. It'll be hard for you to catch a break here.
Nick: I know.
Hope: Oh, Nick... I really wish things could've been different for you here. But glass half full--the good news is with moving, you won't have to worry about running into Gabi all the time.
Will: Adrienne, do you realize what--what a bloodbath it could've been last night, or are you just blinded by your hate for my mom and for the rest of my family?
Adrienne: I know how bad it was.
Will: Bad? Why don't you-- how about disastrous? How about catastrophic?
Adrienne: Okay, wait. Let me rephrase, because what you heard came out wrong. Marge Bernardi is a sick woman, and she needs help. Don't you think Sami would agree with that? Seriously, will?
Will: Um, probably, if you caught her on the right day.
Sonny: Well, I've seen her with Marge, and she feels for her. And I think that now that Chad's out of the woods, it'll be easier for all of us to feel for her.
Adrienne: Abigail must be very relieved. Have you talked to her?
Will: Not since, uh, JJ's hearing. Did Justin say how that went, by the way?
Adrienne: Yes, he said it was a serious wake-up call and that it had to have hit home... hopefully.
JJ: I'm not gonna stand here and listen to you tell me about my mom, okay?
Daniel: Okay. She's not really the problem anyway.
JJ: Well, who said there was a problem?
Daniel: You know, your father, JJ... he loved you. And everything you thought about him, he was--you know, he was all that. So don't let one thing just wipe all that out. And, yeah, it's hard to hear, but it happened years and years ago, and it wasn't who he was. He--he was--
JJ: Don't tell me about who my father was, okay? Ever. You know what? You know what? Um, you got one minute left, Dr. Jonas.
Daniel: Yeah, and you don't want to hear about your mom or your dad, right? Okay. Uh, maybe this will, uh--maybe this will make a difference, 'cause you were afraid. You were afraid that I was taking your dad's place with your mom.
JJ: I really don't give a damn about it now.
Daniel: Yeah... you do. And if any part of you still has that inside of you, you can forget all about it. Forget it... because I am out of your mother's life for good. You win.
Theresa: [Sighs] Wow. You really haven't learned anything from our time together, have you? Look what happened when you tried to fire me. You can't get rid of me, jenny.
Jennifer: I'm not gonna have to. You're gonna destroy yourself. It's just a matter of time, because you are an addict and a user and a liar. And people like you, they end up in a junk pile. And I am not gonna let my son be the collateral damage. He is holding on by a thread. This is his last chance, Theresa. So, if you were a decent human being, you would back off. But you know what? I know that's not gonna happen, so I'm just telling you, if you harm my son, I will make it my life's work to see that you pay.
Theresa: Okay. Yeah. Death, doom, I'm going down, junk pile-- okay, I made a list. I'm officially scared now.
Jennifer: I wish you were that smart.
Theresa: Oh, question. If I do leave JJ alone, what am I supposed to do for fun? Well, I guess I could hang out with your hunky ex. He's such a friendly guy.
Jennifer: You stay away from JJ. That is the one sentence that you need to hold on to.
Theresa: Even if it means--
Jennifer: I am telling you, leave him alone!
Nick: It's not hard for me to see Gabi. We're friends. We're actually... very good friends. I-I don't want to leave Salem to get away from her.
Hope: Good. That's really good. I'm glad things are amicable.
Hope: But, Nick, don't forget how well I know you. And you fell hard for her, honey. So, no matter what, it's gonna be difficult to move on. But you will. You will move on, just like Gabi has. Honey, you have your whole life ahead of you, and when you're someplace where you can make a fresh start, it'll make that easier.
Nick: Yeah. You're probably right.
Hope: Okay. I'm gonna grab some takeout. Would you like anything?
Nick: Uh, no. I'm--I'm fine.
Hope: No? Okay.
Hope: I'm proud of you. Uh, keep me posted on the job search, okay?
Nick: I will.
Hope: All right, honey.
Nick: Bye. Who are you involved with, Gabi? [Sighs] I got to get you a modeling gig soon... so we can get out of here.
Gabi: You know, when I think about it, it just--it seems so unreal. I mean, I met Nick, we got married, and in less than a year, it was pretty much over.
Rafe: Yeah. Well, things were intense with you two.
Gabi: Yeah, I-it never felt right for you.
Rafe: Well... but you know what? The guy's out of your life, you've moved on, and it's time for you to be happy.
Gabi: Yeah. You know, I am. For the first time in a--in a long time, I really am.
Jordan: I-I don't even know how to respond to that.
Kate: Oh. So now you're vamping, trying to buy time.
Jordan: Kate, I am genuinely baffled. I'd ask what I did to make you so crazy, but clearly, it's on you.
Kate: Okay. You know what happened to Rafe while he was in the coma. You were at the trial.
Kate: My ex-husband sent a man here to slice Rafe up with a razor blade, and he almost succeeded.
Jordan: Are you talking about Bernardi?
Kate: Bernardi, who almost got away with being the victim in all of this because he had help-- a nurse who worked here at the hospital and had a whole other life that none of her coworkers ever knew about.
Jordan: So that's what you think I'm doing too? I'm here to worm my way into Rafe's life and then stab him? Seriously?
Kate: I have no idea what your plan is.
Jordan: But you're certain that there is a plan.
Kate: The way you live just isn't normal. You're incredibly secretive.
Jordan: I'm private-- big difference. I don't make everything in life some big public spectacle. I am a normal, private person who shows up and does my job. Is that really so alien to you?
Kate: Something's just not right here. It just doesn't smell right. Maybe if you had something to tell me, some innocent explanation.
Jordan: For what?
Kate: For whatever's bothering you right now.
Jordan: [Sighs] Look... Kate, I'm sorry. It is obvious that you care about Rafe. And I guess I can understand that that would mean you're being like you're being. And you know what? Do whatever you feel like you need to do.
Kate: Meaning what?
Jordan: I don't know. Investigate me. That's what you were up to on the phone just now, right? So dig around, whatever, but you're wasting time... time that you could spend helping Rafe recover. [Sighs]
Will: No, of course. No, um... it'd be an honor. Yeah, absolutely. It's just that, um... well, yeah, I'm a new dad, so... yeah, I got a lot of new responsibilities. So I don't--I don't think I can, but thank you so much for, um... thank you. I mean, I'm--I'm so flattered. Yeah, okay, thank you. Thanks.
Sonny: What was that about?
JJ: You're serious?
JJ: So you're just out of my mom's life. So what--you want something from me?
JJ: Yeah, I knew it.
Daniel: You know what, JJ? Your mother... [Chuckles] She loves you, man. I mean, I thought she loved me, but it is nothing compared to how she feels about you. Don't take that for granted. It is worth more than anything else you'll ever get in this life. So all you got to do is show up. That's it, and I'm gone. The family--it's yours, the way you wanted it. So do it. And I'm begging you, for everyone's sake, especially your own... just go home. Go home. You got what you want.
Theresa: Wow, jenny. Uh, we should've sold tickets or something. I mean, this is so real housewives. I thought we'd have to pull each other's hair or something--
Jennifer: We're talking about my son's life, and you're mak--
Theresa: No, what we're really talking about, Jennifer, is how upset you are that your little boy doesn't have to listen to you anymore. You want to blame drugs. You want to blame me. How about you look in the mirror? How about you check that attitude of yours that talks to him like he's five years old? How about you stop being such a sanctimonious bitch all of the time and listen to JJ for once?
Jennifer: I have tried talking to him, but thanks to you and the lovely little habits that you helped him form--
Theresa: God, the drama. Seriously? Look, JJ woke up. He grew up, and he got a clue. That's all this is. [Scoffs] And--and you know what? He just figured out what a trap all this parental love and concern really is.
Jennifer: Is that what you think about Shane and Kimberly? That their love is a "trap"? They would do anything for you. If you went home right now with your crappy attitude and you spit in their face, they would still love you, and they would still try.
Theresa: You don't know anything about my family.
Jennifer: Oh, I do. I know your parents... because just like me, they will never give up.
Theresa: Maybe they should. Maybe you all should. I mean, God knows JJ would be better off if you just walked away.
Will: Uh, well, I ha--I had no idea, but apparently, um, professor Sutton sent in an essay that I--
Will: Yeah, an essay that I wrote to a literary competition at Berkeley.
Sonny: Is it the one about-- about us and--and Ari?
Will: Yeah, and I won a, um-- I mean, I won a fellowship.
Sonny: Are you serious? That is fantastic.
Will: They're flying me out for a week, and I get to work with professional writers and help me get my piece ready for publication and...
Sonny: Oh, my God, that's perfect. When?
Will: That would be the end of the month.
Sonny: We have plenty of time to get ready.
Will: No, I'm not going. I turned it down.
Sonny: What do you--what do you mean you turned it down?
Will: Well, with the three of us combined, we could barely give Ari what she needs, so I can't go away for a week.
Maxine: Hey. You working the free weights?
Kate: Mm, no. Maybe the punching bag.
Maxine: What are you doing in here?
Kate: Well, I just had a little chat with Jordan.
Maxine: Uh-huh. Well, looks like maybe you were the punching bag.
Kate: [Chuckles] Maybe. Is she always so mean?
Maxine: Ms. Roberts, that woman is nothing but caring and professional. If you got anything else out of her, you had to work for it.
Kate: [Chuckles] Maybe that's true.
Maxine: But I'm sure that present that you're going to bring her will lighten things up.
Kate: Oh, yes, I hope so.
Maxine: Come on, now, girl. [Laughs] Like you really gonna buy her something. Look, I mean, it was a great excuse to ask questions, wasn't it?
Kate: Do you really think she's okay?
Maxine: I do. Jordan works her butt off around here. You see how much she does for Rafe. And she's got a whole load of patients besides him, and she gives them all 100%. I don't know when the woman sleeps.
Kate: Okay. Okay.
Maxine: Maybe she rubs you the wrong way... but you need to get over that. You're lucky she's Rafe's therapist. More to the point... he's lucky.
Rafe: Ready to go?
Jordan: No more workouts today.
Rafe: Go outside. Remember that we were gonna go, fresh air?
Jordan: Oh, right.
Rafe: I mean, you still got time for that?
Jordan: Uh... why not?
Rafe: Okay. You all right?
Jordan: Uh, well... yeah, sure.
Rafe: 'Cause you seem a little off.
Jordan: Yeah, maybe I could use some fresh air too.
Rafe: All right.
JJ: Like I said, your time's up.
Daniel: Yeah. You're gonna go home?
JJ: But you're out of it. You--you've walked away? You're leaving my family alone?
JJ: Well, then it really is none of your business, is it?
Daniel: Look, it's a ransom. I'm not denying it. I'll do it. But I'm doing it for you... and your mother, so you have a chance.
JJ: You really don't listen, do you? I told you before--I don't care who she's with. Now, you want to take my dad's place? You're more than welcome to it. Okay, you know, I'm not--I'm not his kid anymore, and I'm sure as hell not hers either. So I'm not gonna go home like a good little boy. Okay, you know what? For all I care, you know, you can go ahead and move in. I really don't give a damn about it anymore.
Theresa: [Sighs] Wow. Here, hit this side so it's even, or it'll look like I'm wearing too much blush.
Theresa: No, come on, I love this. I love it when control freaks lose it.
Jennifer: I am not gonna let you ruin my son.
Theresa: So you keep saying over and over and over, but you've got nothing, jenny.
Jennifer: Will you just give him a fighting chance?
Theresa: Well, if he likes it that way, I can arrange it.
Jennifer: You shut up! Do you hear me? You are so disgusting. Is--is that the hold that you have on my son? 'Cause if it is, you are a sadistic, manipulative little slut.
Theresa: You don't get to talk to me like this, Jennifer.
Jennifer: Oh, yes, I do.
Theresa: Your problems are your own. So solve them or not, but leave me out of it.
Jennifer: You better remember what I said!
Daniel: Jennifer... Jennifer, look at me... please.
Daniel: Is there some kind of problem with Theresa? I mean, obviously, there is, but... okay, Jenn, I had no idea, none at all, so why don't you just tell me--
Jennifer: Do you want the short story? I hate her.
Daniel: Okay, you don't really hate anybody.
Jennifer: You're right, so that should tell you a lot. And I didn't say it lightly.
Daniel: Good God. What--do you know what's going on with Jennifer and her assistant?
Maggie: Former--former assistant.
Daniel: Wait. So there's some bad blood between them because of that?
Maggie: That's the least of it. Maybe... you should know the whole story. People across America are experiencing the amazing shine Are you feeling neglected? Yeah, well, this is all about you, you know. It's about how you came to be and your moms and your dads and everything. Yeah? Well, thank you. I mean, it wrote itself, really. I, uh... now people want to read about you and make sure that my sentence structure is good and I express clear, whole thoughts and everything and... yeah. I know--you're still working on syllables, right? And maybe a tooth? Yeah, it's important, trust me, especially when you want to be a writer. Oh, not as important as taking care of you, though. [Smooching, laughs]
Sonny: Hey. I need to talk to you for a minute.
Gabi: Oh, is it Chad?
Sonny: No, no. He's doing better, though. Thank God you showed up with Cameron last night.
Gabi: Yeah, I'm really glad he was there.
Sonny: Yeah, Chad owes him his life. You are dating a hero.
Gabi: We're just friends.
Gabi: We are.
Jennifer: JJ? JJ--
[Knock at door]
Adrienne: Hey. Oh. Hey, I thought we were-- might be having a party. And Justin told me that JJ had been released and that he's home.
Jennifer: He's not here at the moment.
Adrienne: What do you mean he's not here? I mean--well, Justin was in a hurry. He was released.
Jennifer: Yeah, I know. He was released, he came home, and then he immediately walked out.
Adrienne: To clear his head?
Jennifer: I don't know. [Chuckles] I don't know if he's coming back.
Adrienne: He does understand what this means.
Jennifer: Adrienne, I don't know what my son understands. I don't really know what my son cares about. I mean, my son hates me. He hates me. He doesn't care about his sister. He's furious with Jack. He hates everyone who didn't tell him about Jack, which means he hates our whole family. But getting high--he cares about that right now. And he cares about Theresa, who has her claws dug...
Adrienne: No, no, no, no, no.
Jennifer: So deep in him right now.
Adrienne: Honey, Justin said the judge scared the life out of him. He's got to be scared enough not to do something stupid.
Jennifer: Adrienne, he's 18 years old. He is invincible. He doesn't think there are consequences for anything, and I can't reach him. My son is going to end up in prison.
Adrienne: That's not true
Jennifer: Yes, he is because the judge is gonna land so hard on him if he messes up again, and he's out there looking for trouble. So that means the judge is gonna throw the book at him, and there's nothing that I can do about it, and my son is going to be in prison.
Adrienne: Stop, stop, stop. Sweetheart, you're panicking. And you're wrong.
Theresa: Oh, hey. Congratulations. You're a free man.
JJ: Yeah, for now.
Theresa: Well, I think we should celebrate. Are you holding?
JJ: Do you--do you know what would happen to me if I had weed on me right now?
Theresa: Well, I'm not a cop. Come on, let's celebrate... get a little loose. You never know what might happen.
Sonny: He just turned it down flat. Like, he didn't even ask us.
Gabi: That's crazy. I mean, this is Berkeley. That's a huge deal.
Sonny: I know, I know. Do you think we can cover it, though? It's a week.
Gabi: Yeah, I mean, we can work out a schedule.
Sonny: Okay, and you think we could get along for a week?
Gabi: That's stretching it, but if you try, I'll try.
Sonny: Okay, okay. I'm gonna go sell this to will so they don't give the fellowship to someone else.
Gabi: Okay, I just have to finish one thing, and then we can go.
Sonny: All right, I'm gonna check on some receipts, so just holler at me when you're done.
Nick: Hey. Gabi... how's it going?
Gabi: Oh, okay, just, um, a little stressed.
Nick: Oh, yeah, no, I-I heard about the--about the shooting.
Gabi: Yeah, it was, um, pretty terrible. I have this thing to do with Sonny, so I'm gonna head out, but, um, it's nice to see you.
Nick: Yeah, you too. Um--
Gabi: Take care.
Rafe: I can't believe how warm it is. Kind of late for an Indian summer.
Jordan: No telling with the weather these days.
Rafe: Yeah. I used to love days like this when I was a kid... be out, hanging with my friends. My mom would call me to come in, and I would totally ignore her. Then she would send out my younger sister Arianna to hound me.
Jordan: And it worked?
Rafe: Oh, definitely. It's not cool to be hanging out with your younger sister, you know?
Jordan: [Chuckles] When I was a kid...
Rafe: What? When you were a kid, what? Nothing?
Kate: Hey. I heard there was a jailbreak.
Rafe: Oh, yeah. Went over the wall. Blame Jordan.
Kate: Oh, no, no, I wouldn't want to do that. As a matter of fact, I searched you down because I needed to see her.
Jordan: Kate, I don't want--
Kate: No, no, no. No, I want to apologize.
Theresa: Come on. Tick tock. Can't wait all day for an answer.
JJ: I just--just need a little time, you know?
JJ: Just something I got to take care of.
Theresa: Wait. Are you serious? You have to, like, what, weigh your options and risks?
JJ: Did I--did I say any of that?
Theresa: Look, it's fine. I get it, but don't wait too long to call me, okay? Or you'll lose your spot.
JJ: Yeah, I'll--I'll call you.
Theresa: Well, that was way too sober and grown-up and chicken. All right. Hey, Wiley, it's me. Oh, no, not this time. I'm gonna need something a little stronger than weed. Yeah, it's definitely gonna be that kind of night.
Jennifer: Adrienne, please. I know... I know that you want to help me, but it doesn't help me to be in denial about what's going on here. That's how JJ ended up in trouble.
Adrienne: I understand that, but he is responsible for his own actions. It's not on your head.
Jennifer: Yes, but even if that were true, it--it doesn't have anything to do with what's happening right now.
Adrienne: No, no. Listen to me. Listen to me. I know that this is a bad time, okay? I know it, but it's not as dire as you're making it out to be. No, listen to me. JJ is young. He's got his whole life ahead of him. Don't assume the worst.
Jennifer: What are you talking about? Have to, Adrienne. I have to be prepared, because my son is so determined. It is like he wants me to see him at his worst, like he's trying to prove to me how bad it can get. He knows the risk of hanging out with his drug buddies and Theresa, and I guarantee you that is the first place he went to when he walked out that door. So, yeah, I have to be prepared, 'cause when my phone rings, it will probably be a cop on the other end of the line.
Adrienne: [Sighs] What can I say? Seriously, what can I do to help you? Honey, I know. I know it's horrible... but u can't give up hope. You can't. I know you think JJ wants you to see him at his worst, but deep down, deep down, you know that's not true. Please don't expect the worst.
Jennifer: I just want to be alone right now, okay? Please.
Adrienne: Are you sure?
Jennifer: Yes, I'm sure. Please.
Adrienne: Okay. I'm here.
Jennifer: Thank you.
Gabi: Hey. Get over here, pumpkin. You sit down. We got to have a talk.
Will: What about? Oh, you told her?
Sonny: Of course I did, 'cause you need to go to California.
Gabi: Yep, daddy's gonna go off and become a very, very famous writer, and he's gonna dedicate books to you, right? Is that right?
Sonny: We can cover the time.
Will: No, there's too much stuff to do around here.
Sonny: Is that a fear of success? Is that what it is? You know wh--you know what? We believe in you. Us three believe in you so much, okay? And we're gonna be fine without you.
Will: I think you just want to take my place.
Sonny: I do. Ari's gonna be calling me "dada," and when you get back, she's not gonna know who you are.
Gabi: Yeah, and Sonny's gonna be my new BFF, right?
Will: Seriously, though, can you guys go a week without fighting? Honestly?
Gabi: Yeah, totally, possibly, mm-hmm.
Gabi: Come on.
Sonny: Call back and take your prize.
Gabi: Yeah, do it, or there will be no peace between us. Tell him, Ari. "Dad, please go."
Will: All right, all right.
Gabi: "Dad, go."
Will: Hello. Hello.
Nick: Gabi Hernandez... yeah, you should've gotten the story and the photo last week. Well, if you're not taking new submissions, then you shouldn't have a button that says that on the website. No. No, no, no. No. No, no, this is your loss. This woman is a dream. Jeez. [Sighs] Don't worry, Gabi. I won't give up. We are getting out of here.. and far away from Cameron Davis. Oh.
Rafe: Well, what's going on? Did something happen?
Kate: Please, I don't deserve that. Jordan is doing a great job, she's working hard, and I should never have questioned her with my actions.
Rafe: What did you do?
Jordan: It was nothing, really, and I know you want what's best for Rafe.
Kate: Well, of course we do. We all do.
Kate: Yeah. Anyway, um, I'm gonna leave both of you here. You can soak up the sun and enjoy the day. Bye.
Rafe: Okay. That was weird.
Jordan: Really, it was nothing.
Rafe: Well, I don't know about that. I think that's why you were acting so off when you came back from the P.T. Room.
Jordan: I don't even know what "so off" means.
Rafe: What'd she do?
Jordan: Nothing. I told you. And, anyway, if I can cut her a break, then so can you. I mean, it's over. I've already forgotten about it.
Kate: So now everyone is friends again. That way, Jordan won't see me coming.
[Knock at door]
Theresa: Oh, JJ, it's about time. Oh. Hey, I like this-- a doctor who makes house calls.
[Door opens, closes]
Jennifer: Wait, JJ.
JJ: I just came to get something, then I'm out of here.
Jennifer: You're not leaving.
JJ: Yeah, I am.
Jennifer: I want you to listen to me right now. This is it. If you walk out this door right now, I never want to see you again.
