Episode #12166 ~ Kate's testimony makes things worse for Sami; Father Matt warns Nicole; Kristen asks Daniel about a fertility doctor.
Provided By Suzanne
Eric: Who knew, right? That Kristen would be the one bringing us closer.
Brady: Huh. I've actually been happier lately than I've been in a long, long time, man.
Eric: Yeah, that's great.
Brady: That's great. You don't sound that enthusiastic.
Eric: What? I am. I really am. It's just sometimes I wonder if... you, Sami, or I will ever be happy at the same time. I'm just anxious to hear how it goes today.
Brady: Yeah, first day of the trial. I mean, it's too bad it's closed to the public.
Eric: I wish we could all be there.
Brady: Me too. What's going on? What's with that remark you made? You hope that Sami... and you and I will all be happy together at the same time? What--are you okay?
Kristen: So maybe, with just a little bit of counseling... I could let go of the past.
Nicole: What the hell is that?
Kristen: Nicole! Oh. I didn't know anybody was here.
Nicole: I know. You were too busy staring at whatever that was in your hand.
Kristen: It's really nothing.
Nicole: Oh, well, if it was nothing, then why did you just shove it back in your bag the second you heard my voice? And why are you trying not to look like I just caught you with your hand in the cookie jar, hmm?
Daniel: Well, you are now free to leave the hospital.
Rafe: Yeah! The real world-- what a concept.
Daniel: Yeah, well, enjoy your furlough.
Rafe: I just wish I was doing something more fun than testifying at Sami's trial.
Jordan: I do wish you'd chosen to testify using closed-circuit TV. It would've been much easier on you. I'll go arrange for the van.
Rafe: Thanks. You don't seem too fired up about this either.
Daniel: Uh, I think Jordan's right. This is gonna be hard on you.
Rafe: Yeah, well, I've seen closed-circuit testimony, and it's not nearly as effective as being their in person.
Rafe: Sami saved my life. She saved my life from a dirty cop. This is the least I can do to help her, you know?
Daniel: Yeah, yeah, but what exactly does that mean?
Rafe: What does that mean?
Daniel: I'm just curious how far you're willing to go for Sami.
And nothing but the truth, so help you God?
Sami: He's wasting his time. She wouldn't know the truth if it hit her in the face
Kate: I do.
EJ: It's in her best interest to be truthful.
Sami: Are you kidding me? She'd be thrilled to have me put away for life.
State your name.
Kate: Katherine Roberts.
Melinda: Sorry, your honor. Shall we get started?
Kate: I'm ready if you are.
She's a loving mother of four... three of whom are under ten. How would you sleep?
Brady: I get it. I understand. Take it easy. I'm just... I don't know.
Brady: I sensed something. Forget it. Hey, bro, listen...
Brady: I can tell something's on your mind, something other than Sami. So why don't you stop jerking me around about it?
Eric: Okay, you're right.
Brady: Just because it's part of your job description that you have to listen to other people confess doesn't mean you can't confide in me. By the way, it won't leave this room. You have my word.
Eric: Thank you. You know, I think the best thing for me to do is... is letting it go and stop dwelling on it.
Brady: Mm-mm. Doesn't work. Trust me, I've tried it. Best thing you can do... is let it out. Why don't you tell me what's going on?
Eric: Maybe I should.
Kristen: Did somebody forget to give me the memo that I owe you an explanation about anything?
Nicole: Not anything-- just whatever you shoved in your purse.
Kristen: Haven't we been down this road before... when you found me holding a pregnancy test? And it kind of blew up in your face when I reminded you that I can't have children. And then you ran to Daniel and told him that Jennifer was pregnant, only she wasn't. Mind your own business!
Nicole: Okay. Yes, fine. You set me straight about the whole pregnancy-test thing. But you certainly are avoiding the subject right now. And in spite of your best efforts, Bambi, you still got that deer-in-the-headlights look.
Kristen: Do I? Okay.
Nicole: Yeah, you do.
Kristen: I'll tell you what this is--it's a flash drive, Nicole, all right? My company has a big deal this afternoon, and on this flash drive is information about the negotiation. So are you happy?
Nicole: I would be... if I believed a word of that garbage.
Melinda: This is a 9-millimeter pistol. Have you ever seen it before?
Kate: Yes, I bought that gun.
Melinda: For what purpose?
Kate: To give as a gift.
Melinda: To whom?
Kate: To Sami Brady, the defendant.
Melinda: Your honor, the prosecution would like this gun entered into evidence. Ms. Roberts, the defense has already stipulated that the gun I just showed you is the same gun that killed detective Bernardi. My question to you is, why would you give a lethal weapon as a gift?
Kate: I gave it as an engagement gift... as sort of a joke.
Melinda: I don't find it humorous. It was used to kill a man in cold blood.
Justin: Objection, your honor.
Melinda: Okay, I'll rephrase. Can you explain what was supposed to be funny about that gift?
Answer the question, ms. Roberts.
Kate: I told Sami that it may come in handy as protection someday.
Kate: From her fiancÚ, EJ DiMera.
Eric: It's just I keep having the same dream over and over... another reason why I'm not getting a whole lot of sleep.
Brady: What kind of dream?
Eric: [Sighs] It goes back to when I was sick.
Brady: Are you still having symptoms?
Eric: That's just it--I'm fine.
Brady: Daniel seems to think that you were poisoned, Eric.
Eric: Daniel is convinced that I was poisoned.
Brady: Really? Well, no wonder you're having awful dreams, then. Who--who the heck would do that to you anyway?
Eric: If I knew the answer to that, I think I might not be having the dream.
Kristen: You don't believe me? It really hurts my feelings. It thought that after working with all those kids and the scholarships that you and I created a bond that would last a lifetime.
Nicole: [Chuckles] That's funny. Yeah, no matter how hard you try to work the "ooh, I'm trying to be a good person" thing, inevitably, without fail, you are up to no good. I know you're hiding something.
Kristen: You need to shut your mouth, 'cause you don't know what--
Matt: Hello, Kristen, Nicole.
Nicole: Hello, father.
Kristen: Father, isn't it a beautiful day?
Matt: Ah, this is my favorite time of the year, especially now with the new school and our first class.
Kristen: I know--it's so exciting, isn't it?
Matt: I saw a list of the scholarship recipients. You have no idea how your generosity's gonna help a whole lot of families.
Kristen: Oh, I'm so happy to help. I wish I could do more.
Matt: Uh, maybe you can be of help to Jennifer Horton. You're a friend of hers, no?
Kristen: I am. What's wrong with Jennifer?
Daniel: I know EJ was here to see you. I'm sure he reminded you of everything you owe Sami.
Rafe: [Chuckles] Yeah, you think?
Rafe: You know the bottom line? I'm here. I get to spend time with my niece and be here for my sister, and that's because of Sami. Sami's got a family too. I do not want to see her taken away from those kids. I mean, she's innocent.
Daniel: You can't testify about what happened with Bernardi and Sami. You know that you were unconscious.
Rafe: Yeah. That's not what EJ wants.
Daniel: Yeah? Spell it all out for you, did he?
Rafe: Yeah, he did. Obviously Sami's case hinges on proving that Bernardi was on the take, right?
Daniel: Mm-hmm. So?
Rafe: So EJ wants me to remember something from when we worked together, something that would prove that.
Daniel: Of course, yep.
Rafe: I'm not gonna do it. No way. I'm not gonna stand up there and lie.
Daniel: I'm sure he took that well.
Rafe: Oh, yeah. He reminded me that you and I had no problem lying when Nicole was pregnant with his baby.
Daniel: You know, if that baby had lived, we might both still be lying.
Rafe: Yeah. Well, as far as I'm concerned, there's a huge difference in lying to protect a child from EJ's influence and lying under oath.
Daniel: Right, not just because of what could happen to you. If you get tripped up on that stand--
Rafe: The jury could turn and convict her right then and there.
Daniel: Yeah, well, if you believe Sami's version of what happened--
Rafe: And I do.
Daniel: Okay, well, the best thing to do, in my opinion, just tell the truth.
Rafe: That's what I intend to do. And hopefully everyone else does as well. Then Sami may stand a chance.
Melinda: Did you believe that by becoming involved with EJ DiMera, Samantha Brady had reason to fear for her life?
Kate: As I said before, the gun was an attempt at humor.
Melinda: A loaded weapon is hardly a gag gift.
Kate: I have a rather dark sense of humor.
Melinda: Even so, surely there had to be some basis for the joke. Were you saying that Samantha Brady would have to accustom herself to a world in which violence is a way of life?
Justin: Objection. Not only is counsel leading the witness, but she's attempting to use the reputation of the DiMera family name to smear my client.
Judge: Sustained. Find another line of questioning, ms. Trask.
Melinda: Of course. Where were you the night that Samantha Brady shot and killed detective Bernardi?
Kate: In the hospital, in Gabi Hernandez's room.
Melinda: You've heard the defendant's version of events. Did they even remotely jibe with what you saw with your own eyes?
Daniel: Hey, there. What are you doing here?
Victor: What do you think? I need more money.
Daniel: Good to hear you're not sick.
Victor: Never felt better. When am I gonna see parker?
Daniel: Anytime you want. Just don't corrupt him.
Victor: [Chuckles] Maggie tells me somebody's done a real job on Jennifer Horton's son. He got busted.
Daniel: Yeah. Yeah, that's what I hear.
Victor: Ah, that's not all that Maggie told me.
Daniel: So you know about Jennifer and me?
Daniel: Yeah. Um, I'd like to, uh, keep that to myself. I'd rather not talk about it.
Victor: Well, then you can listen. No woman should have to deal with a punk son all alone.
Daniel: Okay, I know. Once I heard that he was at the police station, I went over there. Jennifer was handling things, I'd say, just fine.
Victor: All right, forget the kid. I'd like to see you as happy as Maggie and I are. You deserve it. So does Jennifer. And you know me--I don't say that about everyone.
Daniel: [Chuckles] Yeah.
Matt: I'm sorry. I thought you knew.
Kristen: Well, what happened to Jennifer?
Nicole: JJ got arrested for dealing drugs, and she didn't call her BFF?
Kristen: JJ was arrested? When did this happen?
Matt: This morning. JJ was caught in the act. It seems he's been hanging around with a fast crowd and Jennifer knew nothing about it.
Kristen: Oh, my goodness. She must be a wreck. I'm gonna go find her. Thank you so much for telling me, father.
Nicole: Well, at least Jennifer knows what her son's been up to. It's better than being in the dark.
Nicole: All right, father, I'll see you at the rectory.
Matt: I was wondering if we could talk for a minute.
Nicole: For you? I'll give you more than a minute.
Matt: It's about Eric and what you can do to help.
Eric: You know what I should do? I should just stop obsessing about it. I mean, it just seems so selfish of me, when... my sister's whole life is kind of on the line right now. I mean, that's--
Brady: Eric, Eric, your sister Sami would be the first one to say, "get to the bottom of it."
Eric: But Daniel keeps coming up with dead ends. I mean, I'm no help. Nicole--I mean... I don't know. She didn't see anyone. She found me when I was sick.
Brady: Hey, maybe she did see someone. Maybe she saw something.
Eric: Yeah, but she would've told me.
Brady: Well, maybe she hasn't put it together yet. It doesn't hurt to ask her again and again.
Eric: You're right, you know.
Brady: I know I'm right. Listen, uh, I got to go. I'm gonna... I'm gonna get on this for you, okay? You deserve some answers. I'm gonna make sure you find them.
Justin: Objection. Counsel is practically instructing the witness to say my client is lying.
Sustained. You're on thin ice, ms. Trask.
Melinda: I apologize, your honor. When did you enter the room where detective Bernardi was shot?
Kate: After I heard the gun go off, Gabi and I ran there.
Melinda: Who else came into the room?
Kate: EJ DiMera was there. Kayla Brady was there and a nurse. They were attending to detective Bernardi.
Melinda: And was the defendant still there?
Kate: Yes. And Rafe Hernandez. It was his room, but he was comatose. He wasn't aware of what was going on.
Melinda: And when you saw the defendant, was she holding the gun that you gave her?
Melinda: And did she say anything?
Kate: She said that detective Bernardi was trying to kill Rafe and that's why she shot him.
Melinda: Did she say how she knew that?
Kate: She said that she saw him holding a knife, or at least she thought it was a knife at that point.
Melinda: Did you see the weapon anywhere?
Kate: I... it as chaos in that room. I mean, it as crowded-- so crowded within minutes.
Melinda: That's not what I asked you. Did you see any sign of the weapon ms. Brady said detective Bernardi had in his hand when he was shot?
Kate: No. No, I saw nothing like that.
Melinda: No further questions.
Jordan: If you're determined to testify in court, it's my job to see that you make it there and back safely.
Rafe: I appreciate it.
Jordan: Uh, the woman on trial--she's your ex-wife? That must not be easy-- testifying against someone you used to be married to.
Rafe: [Scoffs] I was called by the prosecutor, and I don't remember anything that happened that night, so... there's nothing I can say that's gonna hurt Sami.
Jordan: Well, that's good, I guess.
Rafe: But I appreciate your concern.
Jordan: My concern is how the stress of all this will affect your progress. You have to be 100% committed to the program I have you on, or you won't get anywhere. I'll be back when it's time to leave.
Rafe: Okay. Can't wait.
Sami: Is there a chance that she could be up to something?
EJ: Just leave her to Justin.
Justin: What brought you to the hospital on the night of the shooting?
Kate: I'd come to visit Rafe.
Justin: Did you visit him often?
Kate: Yes. Rafe and I are friends.
Justin: You made regular visits to a comatose man who had no idea you were there. You must be very good friends.
Kate: If that's your way of asking if we were involved, yes, we were. And before the beating sent him to the hospital, we were lovers.
Justin: Now, is it correct that you were the first one to find detective Hernandez after the beating?
Justin: And you called 911, and you stayed there until help arrived.
Justin: Must've been a very frightening time.
Kate: Yes, it was.
Justin: And during that time, did you ever wonder who might possibly be responsible for this terrible beating to your lover?
Kate: Of course I did.
Justin: Did you come to any conclusions?
Kate: I was convinced it was my ex-husband.
Justin: Please state his name for the record.
Kate: Stefano DiMera.
Justin: And what did you suspect was his motive?
Melinda: Relevance, your honor.
Justin: Your honor, I'm asking for the same leeway given to the special prosecutor. I just want to pursue a line of questioning that bolsters the defense's theory of the case.
You opened the door, ms. Trask. But please get to the point. You may answer the question, ms. Roberts.
Kate: He was a very jealous man.
Justin: And was Mr. DiMera, in fact, responsible for what happened to detective Hernandez?
Kate: [Sighs] No.
Justin: Did he even know about your affair with detective Hernandez?
Kate: Not until I confronted him after Rafe was attacked and... made the mistake of telling him myself.
Justin: And how much time elapsed between the moment Stefano DiMera learned about your affair and the moment my client used the gun you gave her to shoot Joseph Bernardi in order to keep him from killing your lover?
Melinda: Your honor, that is pure speculation! The jury has heard no evidence which suggests a link--
Please state your objection, ms. Trask.
Sami: What's going on?
EJ: He's got her.
Nicole: You said you wanted to talk about Eric, but you look so serious.
Matt: Sami's in jail, on trial for killing a policeman, and, uh... she could go to jail for the rest of her life. Eric is overwhelmed with worry.
Nicole: Believe me--I know. I see what's it's doing to him. And you know what the sad thing is? I don't even think Sami cares.
Matt: No, I've known Sami a long time. She loves her brother.
Nicole: Yeah, I've had a long history with Sami too, and I beg to differ with you. The only person that Sami has ever cared about is Sami.
Matt: I didn't ask you to talk so we could discuss Sami. It's Eric and what you can do for him.
Nicole: I'd do anything for him. But what do you mean?
Matt: I don't know if you're aware of this, but Eric has other things on his mind besides Sami.
[Knock at door]
Kristen: Hi. Have you seen Jenn?
Daniel: Uh, well, probably still at the police station.
Kristen: I just heard about JJ. May I please come in?
Daniel: Uh, um... re. Yeah, no, you--
Kristen: Thank you.
Kristen: So she's not answering the phone. She's not returning any calls. Is she okay?
Daniel: Okay as one can be when your teenage son could be charged with a felony.
Kristen: [Gasps] Have you seen her?
Daniel: Uh, yeah, I was just at the police station, but I couldn't stay. I got called into surgery.
Kristen: And you say that JJ might be charged with a felony?
Daniel: Well, I don't know that for sure. But this isn't just simple possession. He was actually dealing.
Kristen: [Gasps] Is he gonna get out on bail?
Daniel: Ah, you know what? When I left, Jennifer was still trying to sort all that out.
Kristen: Well, she just must be a-a wreck, right?
Daniel: You know, yeah. But, you know, I probably shouldn't be talking about her with you. I don't--I'm sure she's gonna call you back as soon as she gets the chance.
Daniel: Ah, that's okay. It's parker. It's parker. He, uh--he lets me know he's woken up from his nap by whipping toys across the room. I'll be right back. Hold on. You got quite an arm, man.
Daniel: You got quite an arm. This right here-- oh, you're gonna get all shy on me? This is parker.
Kristen: Hi, parker! You're awfully bright-eyed and bushy-tailed for a little boy that just woke up from a nap.
Daniel: Yeah, and this is miss Kristen.
Daniel: You want me to get you a snack?
Kristen: Ooh, I bet I know what you want for a snack. You want broccoli? [Laughing]
Kristen: You don't like broccoli?
Daniel: Yeah, kind of hard to believe there, huh?
Kristen: How smart are you?
Kristen: Okay, I better go. I'm gonna try to find Jennifer. And good luck with that snack.
Daniel: No worries. Yeah, okay. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
Kristen: You know, maybe you can.
Daniel: You know, I already told you everything I know about JJ.
Kristen: It's not about JJ or Jennifer, actually. It's about me.
Matt: Eric has a number of personal problems. He feels none of them can be solved. It's very hard for a priest.
Nicole: I have to admit-- I haven't exactly been easy on him, so I will try to back off.
Matt: There's something you could do.
Nicole: Name it.
Matt: Eric seems obsessed with what happened to him when he got sick. These unanswered questions are eating at him. This is something he may never understand. We have to help him accept that.
Nicole: I get what you're saying, father matt, and you can count on me.
Daniel: Uh, here-- no, please, sit down, sit down.
Daniel: Oh, whoa! Look at that!
Kristen: Hey, parker!
Daniel: Uh, is this--is it a medical question? You all right?
Kristen: Oh, you know, I have an issue, and it requires a specialist. And I was referred to a Dr. Dunstall and a Dr. Green, and I was wondering if you've heard anything about them. And what do you think?
Daniel: Uh, yeah, Dunstall and green--they're fertility doctors.
Kristen: I know. I know I know, I know. I was told a long time ago that I couldn't get pregnant, but there's been so many advances, and... since I'm about to get married again--
Daniel: You're ge-- uh, okay. Wow.
Kristen: I know, and Brady and I talked about adoption, but before we start that process, I'd like to--
Daniel: Be absolutely sure that you can't have one of your own here.
Kristen: Exactly. I know it would take a miracle, but clearly miracles happen, right?
Brady: Good. You're here.
Victor: Well... you haven't greeted me like that in a while.
Brady: [Sighs] I owe you an apology.
Victor: For what?
Brady: Well, things have been happening pretty fast in my world, and there's some news I should've given you before.
Victor: You're engaged.
Brady: You heard.
Victor: Ah, secrets don't last long in this town.
Brady: Yeah, I don't really like the word "secret." That kind of means that I'm hiding something or-- it has a bad connotation to it. I-I love her. It's as simple as that. That's why I'm doing this.
Victor: [Sighs] I can see that. So congratulations.
Brady: Thanks. I know I got a long way to go before people believe I know what I'm doing, but... you should know, as far as this marriage is concerned, I'm kicking it old school, as they say.
Victor: How so?
Brady: Well, posting of the banns, pre-cana conferences-- the whole nine yards.
Victor: You can't be serious.
Brady: Completely serious. Ask Eric.
Victor: You and Kristen... are seriously talking about a church wedding? [Laughs]
Melinda: I withdraw my objection.
Sami: What does that mean? What happened?
EJ: She figured out what he was trying to do.
Ms. Roberts, do you need Mr. Kiriakis to restate his question?
Kate: Uh, no. No. It was a few weeks after I told Stefano about Rafe and me. Sami saw detective Bernardi in Rafe's room and shot him.
Justin: Thank you. Nothing further. Well, you can't blame a guy for trying.
Sami: Just explain to me what that was all about.
EJ: Uh, Trask was about to suggest that we had not been able to establish a link between Stefano and Bernardi. It would have created an opportunity for us to introduce the money in timothy Bernardi's account as evidence.
Ms. Trask, do you with to redirect?
Melinda: Yes, your honor. I have one more question. You presented Samantha Brady with a gun. Is that because you had knowledge of her using one in the past?
Kate: Well, it's a matter of public record. She shot a man named Alan Harris.
Melinda: What about--
Kate: But that was years ago.
Melinda: Yes, what about recently?
Kate: No. The only person she shot was detective Bernardi.
Melinda: I didn't ask you if she shot anyone. I asked you if she'd used a gun, threatened someone.
Kate: Uh, well--
Melinda: Ms. Roberts, you are under oath.
Kate: [Scoffs] I mean, isn't there some kind of ruling about hearsay?
Answer the question, ms. Roberts.
Kate: I was told by a very unreliable source that she threatened him with a gun.
Melinda: Does this source have a name?
Kate: Nick Fallon.
Nicole: Listen, I shot my mouth off about you marrying Kristen and Brady, and I shouldn't have. And... I'm sorry.
Eric: It's all right.
Nicole: No, it's not all right. You have enough going on, without me piling on. I'm sorry.
Eric: No, no, I know you did it because you care about Brady and me. I understand.
Nicole: Thank you.
Eric: Do you have a minute? I'd just like to ask you some questions... if it's okay, so... please sit.
Nicole: Okay. Is this about Sami's trial? Did something happen?
Eric: No, not that I know of. I just have some questions about the night that I got sick... the night you came to my rescue.
Kristen: I know. So listen to me, right? Trying to have a baby-- talk about crazy.
Daniel: It's not so crazy. I mean, miracles--they do happen. Chloe was told she'd never become pregnant and... [Whistles]
Kristen: Thanks for being so understanding.
Daniel: Yeah, yeah. It's all right. Um, you know, Dunstall and green--they're excellent doctors, so...
Kristen: I'll think about it.
Daniel: You can do it.
Kristen: In the meantime, don't mention anything to Brady, all right? I just don't want to disappoint him and get his hopes up.
Daniel: I'm not gonna say anything. I mean, I know-- ah! Parker.
Kristen: Oh, no.
Daniel: Oh, no, I got it. I got it.
Kristen: Let me help.
Daniel: All right, it's okay.
Kristen: Oh, my goodness. Is there something wrong with father Eric?
Melinda: No more questions, your honor.
Judge: You may step down, ms. Roberts. I need to break for a short consultation, ms. Trask, and then you may call your next witness. [Bangs gavel]
Melinda: Track down Nick Fallon. I may want to add him to the witness list.
I'll get the subpoena.
Justin: You pulled a gun on Nick Fallon. Is there no limit to what you'll do? Tell me what happened.
Sami: It was nothing, okay? The gun wasn't even loaded.
Justin: The jury didn't think it was nothing. Did you see the look on their faces? How am I supposed to mount a defense if the two of you keep surprising me?
EJ: I don't know, Justin. Why don't you start by reminding the jury that he's a convicted murderer?
Justin: Listen to me--I have to make a phone call. Please try not to pull a gun on anyone else before I get back.
Sami: [Scoffs] [Sighs]
EJ: It's not that big a deal, so don't get too upset.
Sami: Well, I'm already upset, but about something else. I'm upset because Justin indicated to me that he might be suspicious about where the money came from that's in timothy Bernardi's account. Do you know about that? Or is it real?
EJ: Samantha, the only thing that matters is getting it into testimony, then letting it blow the prosecution's case apart.
Sami: You did that, didn't you? Oh, my God, what if it backfires? You know, he's right. The jury already hates me. They're not nuts about you either.
EJ: Just... calm down, okay? It's under control.
Sorry. Ma'am, witnesses aren't allowed to talk to each other.
Rafe: It's gonna be okay.
Sami: How did you do it? Please tell me you were not personally involved.
Victor: You're actually going to do this whole pre-cana nonsense?
Brady: It's not nonsense if you want to get married in a church. And we do.
Victor: Well, then how long is this gonna take?
Brady: [Sighs] I don't know. It's up to Eric.
Victor: And you and Kristen intend to take his counseling to heart?
Brady: Absolutely. Granddad, he's a priest. He's a trustworthy guy. My feeling is that if he can see why Kristen and I want to be together and believe in the love that we have for one another, I think the whole town is gonna follow suit sooner or later. I see the look on your face. I know you're not happy about this... but I really am, and the countdown to the wedding is on.
[Cell phone ringing]
Brady: It's the London office. Excuse me. Brady black. I'm great, Stewart. How are you?
Victor: He's great. Well, a wedding to a psychopath-- now, there's something to celebrate. [Groans] Marlena? Brady has informed me that the countdown is on. A wedding... a full-on church wedding... at which your son has agreed to officiate. You know what that means? That means that father Eric has lost his marbles. I thought Brady had the market cornered on lunacy, but apparently there's enough to go around both sides of the family. I have no idea what to do... but you and I better get together and figure it out, because it has to be now.
Daniel: Okay. All right, why don't you play with this? A little less destruction, okay?
Kristen: Is father Eric sick?
Daniel: Uh, no. Eric--uh, he's fine. Yeah, nothing to worry about. That's about all I have to say about that.
Kristen: Okay. Bye, parker. I'm gonna get out of your hair and go try to find Jennifer.
Daniel: Sure, okay.
Kristen: Thanks for everything.
Daniel: Good luck with everything, really.
Kristen: Thank you.
Daniel: You're welcome. [Sighs]
Kristen: Oh, great. So you're back at it, huh, doctor? Still trying to figure out what happened to Eric. Well, guess what. The answers are right here, and nobody's gonna get them... unless I want them to.
Eric: I just can't get that night out of my mind. It's kind of undermining my performance and my duties here. I just, you know, thought if we could kind of talk about that...
Nicole: Eric, I-I already-- I already told you everything.
Eric: I just thought maybe if you and I kind of went over the details that may have slipped your mind, and maybe something that didn't seem important...
Nicole: I told you. I told you everything, and unfortunately there's not much more.
Eric: Yeah, but you had to ask the desk clerk for my room number, and maybe there's--

Bailiff: All rise.
Judge: Thank you. Be seated. Are we ready to resume, bailiff?
Bailiff: Please raise your right hand.

Rafe: I do.
