Episode #12125 ~ Kristen makes a request of Eric; Rafe's health deteriorates.
Provided By Suzanne
Eric: Kristen, what are you doing here?
Kristen: I needed to share something with you. I hope I didn't come at a bad time.
Eric: Actually, things are a little hectic around here.
Kristen: [Laughs] Oh, Eric. Oh, my. [Gasps]
Eric: God, I want you like I've never wanted anything.
Kristen: Something tells me that not everybody's gonna be so understanding. Yeah. I bet they are. And I really hate to add to all the drama. But some things can't be helped.
Kate: Why is he sleeping again? And I-if the sedatives are out of his system...
Cameron: He's been in the induced coma for a long time. And he went through a terrible trauma. So sleep might be his defense mechanism right now.
Rafe: Why... did... Sami try and kill me?
[Heart monitor beeping]
Chad: So, Cameron, when you get off, could you meet me at the pub? Really need to talk to you. Thanks, man. Abigail, hey.
Abigail: Chad. Please don't do this.
Adrienne: Word to the wise, if a DiMera happens to come in wanting an espresso, you might wanna make yourself scarce.
Adrienne: Well, in case you're on someone's hit list, of course.
Sonny: What are you talking about, mom?
Adrienne: I'm sure you just heard that your father's decided to represent the DiMeras.
Sonny: Yes, I actually don't wanna be in the middle of this.
Adrienne: [Sighs] No, I'm sure you don't. I'm sorry. Look, just promise me you'll be careful, please?
Sonny: I am always careful.
Adrienne: Okay, yeah. All right, listen. Hey. You look tired. Is the baby still up every two hours?
Sonny: No. We're taking shifts. It's just I went out last night and stayed out late. And then I had to open this morning, so...
Adrienne: So did you and will do something fun?
Sonny: No, will didn't come. He stayed home with Arianna.
Adrienne: You went out alone?
[Knocks at door]
Will: Come in, dad.
Will: Hey, Brent, what's up?
Brent: Not much, how's it going?
Will: Going great.
Brent: Is--is Sonny around?
Will: No, he was at work before I woke up. Why?
Brent: He left this in my car last night.
Eric: If this is about Brady...
Kristen: No, it's not about Brady. It's about someone else and something that I think is gonna shock a lot of people.
Kayla: Bad day?
Abe: [Sighs] Bad week. Bad month. Bad year.
Kayla: I'm sorry.
Abe: You know, as-- as relieved as I am that Sami's not going to trial, it's just morale at the department couldn't be lower.
Kayla: I'm sure.
Abe: One of our own is shot and killed. His name's been dragged through the mud, and the commissioner's daughter's the one who pulled the trigger.
Kayla: Well, at least they have you to see them through.
Abe: We haven't gotten through it yet. We need some really good news to get us through this.
Abe: You know, we need to know that Rafe's going to be okay. After that setback he had, when will we know he's through the woods?
Kayla: Well, there's Cameron now. Maybe he knows something new.
Eric: I don't know, Kristen. It might be pretty hard to shock people these days.
Kristen: I'm not so sure about that. I guess you haven't heard about EJ and my father. It's like the civil war all over again, and ground zero is my living room. Only there's nothing civil about it, believe me.
Eric: I'm sure that's put you in a very uncomfortable position.
Kristen: You know, actually, it's the upheaval at home that has brought me here to you.
Eric: I'm not connecting the dots here. Having a little trouble.
Kristen: I'm sorry. Let me try to connect them for you.
Eric: If you wouldn't mind connecting the dots for me quickly because I kinda have--
Kristen: All the drama and the chaos, yeah, I get it. And I really hate to impose on your time. I'm kind of embarrassed, you know? I have found myself to be a lapsed catholic lately. And my faith does mean a great deal to me.
Kristen: Yeah. And I find myself in need of spiritual nourishment.
Eric: Aren't we all?
Kristen: Yeah, we are. But my needs are more keen than most, I think, 'cause you know, Brady dumped me. I'm alone, kind of like I was when I was exiled from Salem the first time. And my family has been my only source of comfort and support. And now...
Eric: Their problems sorta trump yours.
Kristen: Don't you think you can understand, you know? I thought I found the answers that I was looking for my whole life about love and vocation. And--and then I find that it's nothing but a big farce. You don't know if you should thank the person that clued you in or maybe strangle 'em.
Eric: If this is about Brady--
Kristen: It's not about Brady. It's about Marlena.
Eric: We're not gonna go there again, are we?
Kristen: Well, you're the one that asked. I was just saying, you know, your dreams are crushed. You're all alone, totally disconnected from everything that you thought you believed in and everything that you were. Do you understand what I'm saying?
Eric: I'm not sure I do.
Kristen: Oh. Darn. Well, maybe someday you will. [Sighs] And it could happen sooner than you think.
Chad: Hello to you too. What are you talking about?
Abigail: What you were talking to Cameron about, and I'm telling you, this is a bad idea.
Abigail: Because it's not your decision to make.
Chad: No? Then whose decision is it?
Abigail: Oh, my God, do you even have to ask, Chad? It's mine.
Brent: Yeah, it must have slipped off his wrist without him noticing.
Will: Yeah, well, it's not the first time it's happened, so--
[Knocks at door]
Lucas: Hey, will, I...
Lucas: Oh, sorry.
Will: Um, dad, this is Sonny's friend, uh, Brent. And this is my dad.
Brent: Nice to meet you, Mr. Horton.
Lucas: Nice to meet you.
Brent: Oh, congrats on the baby.
Lucas: Thank you. Thank you, I appreciate that. On that note, I'm gonna take a little peek at the princess. How you doing?
Lucas: Oh, man, look at her.
Brent: Look, so I can just go to the coffee shop, grab a latte, and give this to Sonny.
Will: No, no, don't go out of your way. He's gonna be home soon, so...
Will: Did you guys have fun last night?
Brent: Yeah. Yeah, we had a great time. Uh, I haven't been to a party like that since--well, since probably the last time I went out with Sonny.
Will: Hmm. Cool.
Brent: What about you? How was your night?
Will: Great. Ari slept, I slept. Sleep is pretty awesome these days.
Brent: I bet.
Will: Mm-hmm. Anyway, thanks so much for bringing this by.
Brent: Yeah, yeah, sure. See you around.
Will: Yeah, all right, see ya.
Brent: Nice to meet you.
Lucas: Yeah, you too. Take care. Let me just get this straight for a second. You let Sonny go out with that guy last night while you stayed home, took a nap with the baby?
Will: Um, well, um, yeah.
Lucas: And Sonny's watch didn't make it home? Come on, man. Is something wrong with this picture?
Adrienne: So let me get this straight. You went to a party with another guy without will?
Sonny: It was just Brent. Do you remember him? He was the guy that had...
Adrienne: Oh, the cast.
Sonny: The cast for six months, yeah.
Adrienne: Oh, my God, yes. Now I remember. [Gasps] I thought he went to study in Europe.
Sonny: He did.
Adrienne: He did.
Sonny: Yeah, but now he's back.
Adrienne: Well, that's great. Well, that's important.
Sonny: What's important?
Adrienne: Well, that you're seeing people, that--that you're having a social life again.
Sonny: I never stopped having a social life. What, you think when will and I moved in together, I just told all my friends to go to hell? Is that what you think?
Adrienne: No, of course not. That's not what I'm saying.
Sonny: Well, then what do you think? Can you--can you just be direct with me for a change? Please?
Adrienne: Fine. All I'm saying is that I'm relieved to see that maybe you're getting a little of your old life back. That's all.
Sonny: My old life back?
Adrienne: Mm-hmm. Sweetheart, you're young, much too young to be trapped in an apartment night after night, cooking, cleaning, and baby-sitting.
Sonny: All right, just stop, stop, stop, stop. First of all, I am not trapped anywhere. I am exactly where I wanna be. And second of all, will, Gabi, and I, we share the cooking and cleaning responsibilities. So for you to think that I'm doing all the housework is crazy, not to mention totally unfair to will and Gabi.
Adrienne: All right, you know what, you just--
Sonny: No, no. And another thing, you know what? I'm not gonna calm down until you get this through your head-- that we take turns doing what needs to be done. And I am in no way being taken advantage of. And every night is not a big, boring drag of cooking and cleaning and changing diapers. We all pitch in. And sometimes, guess what. Guess what we do.
Sonny: We have fun. And we talk to one another. And we watch movies and play video games and tell jokes--
Adrienne: Okay, fine, fine, fine, shh, stop. I get it. Your life is wonderful and fun and full of laughter. And a great time is had by all. Excellent, excellent. All I'm saying is, I think young people should go out and meet other young people, that they should have experiences, that they should have variety in their life. That's all I'm saying.
Sonny: Please, please, please, please, please. Can you listen to me, mother?
Adrienne: I am.
Sonny: I do not want or need to meet new people or have variety in my life because I know that's code for "if you would just break up with will, I would be happy." But guess what. That is not your decision. And it is not happening, not now, not ever.
Adrienne: Can you see into the future?
Sonny: I am not having this conversation with you right now.
Adrienne: Look, stop being so defensive, and you know what? Another thing, stop putting words in my mouth. I never once in this conversation said you should break up with will, never.
Sonny: No, but I can read between the lines.
Adrienne: Oh, God. Am I a bad mother because I want my son to have some fun and excitement in his life? So that he's not bogged down with this huge responsibility while he's still trying to find his way? [Sighs] I think back just a little while ago to your life. It was simple. Sonny, you were happy.
Cameron: [Sighs] Rafe's latest E.E.G. Shows no change.
Kate: So is that bad?
Kayla: No, not necessarily. At least there's no more indications of distress.
Kate: Of course not. Sami's barred from his room.
Abe: Since when do you have your medical license?
Kate: Okay, Abe. She went in there twice. And the second time was after Daniel kicked her out and told her not to come back. And both times, Rafe just about jumped out of his skin.
Cameron: [Sighs] I was there.
Abe: Why do you think he would react that way?
Kate: Gee, I don't know.
Cameron: Excuse me. I need to grab my lunch while I still can. Take care.
Kate: Sami's gonna worm her way back into the room. She'll always find a way.
Kayla: You know, I'm not sure that I agree with Daniel. You know, we don't wanna upset Rafe. But she has elicited the only communication that we've had with him so far.
Kate: Okay, look. Um, actually, he talked to me too.
Kayla: What? And you didn't think that that was important to tell me.
Adrienne: What did he say?
Sonny: [Sighs] Okay? You were saying?
Adrienne: All right. I want you to listen to me. I don't want to upset you. I don't wanna cause you any more stress, okay?
Adrienne: I just feel that-- I just feel that maybe you've settled into a situation--
Sonny: Settled into a situation.
Adrienne: [Sighs] Yes.
Sonny: I am living with the guy that I love. My life is great, everything about it. I should feel lucky, and you should too because I-I'm in a good place right now.
Sonny: Hey, Brent, how's it going?
Brent: Hey, man, good.
Brent: Look, I just wanted to come by and say sorry I kept you out so late last night. I hope it was worth it.
Kate: I don't think what Rafe said was necessarily as important as how he said it.
Kayla: Why not?
Kate: He wasn't agitated. He felt safe with me.
Abe: Why don't you wanna tell us what Rafe said?
Kayla: We really need to know. If it's personal--
Kate: No. It's n--it's not that. Um... well, you remember when you said that he might have a hard time distinguishing between his dreams and reality?
Kate: He asked me why Sami tried to kill him.
Chad: [Sighs] You think this should be your decision?
Chad: What are you talking about, Abigail?
Abigail: I heard you on the phone with Cameron.
Chad: Yeah, EJ asked me to move back in the mansion.
Abigail: Wait, what, he did?
Chad: You heard he tossed my dad out of the house, took over DiMera enterprises, right?
Abigail: No. Oh, my God. Where have I been?
Chad: I guess you didn't hear that much of what I said on the phone. I guess you thought that I wanted to talk to Cameron about you.
Chad: Were you afraid I was gonna challenge him to a duel or something, huh? I'll put a bullet straight through your heart unless you move aside. Abigail Deveraux is mine. She is mine.
Cameron: You talking about me?
Sonny: Mom, you remember Brent.
Adrienne: Of course. Of course. Great to see you, Brent.
Brent: You too.
Adrienne: You have grown up. [Laughs]
Brent: And you haven't changed at all.
Adrienne: Flattery will get you a free latte, right, Sonny? [Giggles]
Brent: That'd be great. I need a big shot of caffeine after last night. Oh, if you're missing your watch, I left it with will.
Sonny: Oh, oh, thank you. Thank you.
Brent: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I-I told him about the rave too. You don't mind, right?
Sonny: No, of course not. I was gonna tell him in the morning, but he was sleeping when I left, so...
Adrienne: So, Brent.
Adrienne: What have you been doing since we last saw each other?
Brent: Actually, I have been traveling through the U.K. And France and a little bit of Spain.
Adrienne: Really? Fascinating.
Brent: Yeah, studying architecture and design.
Adrienne: Wow, wow. You know, when Sonny was a little boy, he used to dream about growing up to be Indiana Jones.
Sonny: [Chuckles] That's--that's archaeology.
Adrienne: I know that. The point is he used to build these elaborate buildings, and then he'd destroy them only to build them back up again. It was really interesting. So do you plan on being in Salem for a while?
Brent: Um, yeah. I'm planning on sticking around for a while. I never thought I'd miss it so much, you know?
Adrienne: Well, great. Hope to see more of you.
Brent: Me too.
Sonny: Um, I'll get those coffees for you in one second, okay?
Brent: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'll be over here.
Adrienne: He's so--
Sonny: Mom. Please.
Will: Here you go.
Lucas: Thank you.
Will: Sonny's allowed to have a life, dad.
Lucas: Well, I know. It's just if there's something going on between you two, you can tell me.
Will: No. Someone just had to take care of Ari.
Lucas: What about the baby's mother?
Will: What about the baby's father?
Lucas: What about where's Gabi now?
Will: [Sighs] She had a class, dad. I don't know why you're so worried about this. Everything is going great with us.
Lucas: If things are going so great, what's Sonny doing out with another guy, partying it up, doing whatever he want--
Will: They're--they're friends.
Will: Dad, not everything is about sex, you know.
Lucas: Whoa, whoa, ease back on that. I'm not talking about sex. I'm just saying, why would-- why would Sonny think it was cool to leave you alone here and party his life away?
Will: I told--because I told him to. That's why.
Eric: What are you getting at, Kristen?
Kristen: Do you ever have doubts, father?
Eric: Everyone has doubts.
Kristen: Of course. Because there's so little to hold on to in life, right? So little that truly lasts. Certainly not love. Not family. Not even your deepest-held beliefs. And certainly nothing of the flesh.
Eric: Everything in life is fleeting.
Kristen: Right. Which is why it's so important to keep your eye on the prize, the hereafter. But if you already know that you're going to hell, what's the point of even trying?
Eric: But God always forgives.
Kristen: Mm. Yeah. But people don't.
Eric: Cuts both ways, doesn't it?
Kristen: I suppose. But since I know that I'm never gonna be redeemed in the eyes of the people that I care about, I feel free of duty, of responsibility.
Eric: Love. What does that leave you with?
Kristen: Oh, my goodness, father. Limitless possibilities. I can be myself. I can focus on my needs and my wants. And honestly, I can't deny myself any longer. That's why I'm here. It took years to build this business.
Eric: You seem to be having trouble coming out and saying what you wanna tell me.
Kristen: [Sighs] I suppose that's true.
Eric: Well, if you wanna make a confession--
Kristen: Oh, no, no, no. Nothing that formal. I just wanna get something off my chest.
Eric: To me?
Kristen: Yeah. You're such a great listener. I mean, amongst so many other talents.
Eric: Talk to me, our personal history aside, of course.
Kristen: Hmm, what a history it I
Eric: You know you can tell me anything.
Kristen: Be careful what you wish for.
Lucas: Wait a minute, you told Sonny to go out with an old friend for a night on the town while you stayed home and baby-sat?
Will: It's not baby-sitting if it's your own kid, dad.
Lucas: [Sighs] You know what I mean. Come on. Why? Why d you do that?
Will: Because it's Sonny. He's the guy who climbed k2, okay? I'm not gonna ask him to give up everything that he used to love.
Lucas: Sometimes, that's what being a parent means. You know, you gotta do that for a while.
Will: He's not a parent. Yes, he stepped up in a major way, but he's not a parent, dad.
Lucas: But what, what's he doing now, complaining about it? Is that it?
Will: No, he loves Ari. And he is so amazing with her. All right? And when she's older, then we can go off, and we can travel, and we can do everything that we love to do together. Okay, stop looking at me like I'm crazy.
Lucas: I'm not looking at you like you're crazy. I'm just--you know, you're-- you're mature, you're-- old soul. You're very old for your age.
Will: Aw. Well, having a kid can do that to you.
Lucas: Well, it didn't do that to me. And your mother's got, like, four kids, and she still acts like she's 12, so it didn't work on her either. I think you've lapped us, to say the least.
Will: No, just wait till I call you in the middle of the night freaking out when she has a fever or something.
Lucas: I used to do that. Your great-grandma Alice used to help me out all the time. So I know exactly what to do, and I know that she would be very proud of you. She would.
Lucas: And I know I can't take credit for that, but I will anyway.
Will: Oh, God, I got my--
Lucas: I love you, man.
Will: I love you too.
Sonny: There you go.
Brent: Thank you, sir.
Sonny: You're welcome.
Brent: Good to see you again.
Adrienne: Good to see you too, Brett, take care.
Brent: See ya.
Sonny: Will you stop?
Adrienne: Stop what?
Sonny: You don't think I remember what you did with me and Brian? It's the same exact thing. You were pushing us together when I clearly wanted to be with will. Okay, I'm not gonna have you do that again.
Adrienne: I wasn't. Honestly, I wouldn't.
Sonny: No, no, you weren't? "Bye-bye. Hope to see more of you." What was that?
Adrienne: He's your friend. You want me to say, "I hope to see less of you?"
Sonny: No, I don't wanna do this again, please. This is my life and my business. You can't tell me who I can spend more or less time with. Do you understand that?
Adrienne: All right, fine. Do whatever you want. For your information, I'm very interested in architecture.
Sonny: What kind of insane non sequitur is that?
Adrienne: Ever since I got married in Greece before you were born--because...
Sonny: But what in the world does this have to do with anything we're talking about?
Adrienne: When I said, "I'd like to see more of you," I'd like him to meet uncle Victor.
Adrienne: He's a very personable young man. He's very intelligent. I mean, people would like to talk to him.
Sonny: Oh, okay. So he's all those qualities that will doesn't have. I see.
Adrienne: Stop putting words in my mouth. I'm trying here. Can't you see how hard I'm trying?
Sonny: Why do you have to try so hard?
Sonny: It's simple. I love will. And he loves me. He's a great guy. Is that not good enough for you?
Adrienne: I want the very best for my son.
Sonny: I have the very best. I gotta go.
Adrienne: Sonny, I didn't--
Sonny: You know what, Mom? We might not have the most conventional family, but it's working. So you have a choice to make. You can accept us or forget about us.
Eric: Be careful what I wish for?
Kristen: You seem to think that I came here to unburden myself somehow. And really, I just wanna make a simple request.
Kristen: Yeah, really. I mean, when you think of all the time and energy and not to mention the money that I sank into this school project. And although it was unfortunate I couldn't see it through to the Enid my contribution really mean so little?
Eric: You know you have my gratitude.
Kristen: Aw, that's so sweet. But did my invitation to the reception with the bishop get lost in the mail?
Eric: It's a very small reception.
Kristen: [Chuckles] I know. I've lost a lot. It would mean so much to me if I could attend.
Cameron: So I don't have to sweat being dueled to the death. [Sighs]
Chad: Not before I get your advice anyway.
Chad: Relax. Sorry.
Abigail: You know what? I-I should probably get going 'cause I have a lot of stuff--
Chad: Oh, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, hold on. Before you do... [Sighs] I would like to get your take on this too, okay? Since they kicked my father out of his house, EJ and Kristen have both asked me to move back in.
Abigail: That's huge, Chad.
Chad: Hmm, yeah. And the first person I would've talked to about something like this would've been Lexie. And obviously that's not possible, so...
Cameron: You'll--you'll settle for me. [Clears throat]
Abigail: Chad, have you talked to will and Sonny about this? I mean, will lived with the DiMeras for a while. And his mom now--
Chad: Yes, I've--I've tried. Okay, but they've got so much going on right now. And I need to make a decision. So... I trust your judgment. And yours.
Kayla: Thank you. All right, Kate. Is there anything else that I should know? Anything that you didn't see fit to share with Rafe's attending physicians?
Kate: Look, I wasn't trying to hide anything. You said yourself that he would be confused, that he might be delusional.
Abe: Whoa, whoa, wait, wait. Are you trying to protect Sami?
Kate: No! I just want Rafe left alone. He doesn't need to hear her whining and complaining about how innocent she is.
Kayla: Oh, so in other words, you put your personal animosity towards my niece ahead of Rafe's well-being.
Kate: I was protecting him from her hysterics.
Kayla: Well, you know what? You probably did just the opposite. Had we had a chance to examine him when that happened, we would have a better idea of how his recovery is progressing.
Kate: He's going to wake up again.
Kayla: Yes. But right now, he is extremely vulnerable, physically and mentally.
Excuse me, Dr. Brady. Detective Hernandez is starting to come around again.
Kayla: All right.
Kate: Kayla. Please.
Kayla: All right. Maybe it would be helpful for him to see a familiar face when he wakes up. But you have to promise me that you will not upset him.
Kate: I will say nothing to upset him.
Eric: [Sighs] I know you want to attend. But you--you must know that--
Kristen: That Brady's gonna be there? And Marlena? Of course. But this town is small... I mean, ish. And we're kinda used to tripping over each other wherever we go.
Eric: I just wanna avoid the bloodshed and the fisticuffs at the benediction. I mean, if it's all the same to you...
Kristen: But why? The bishop's gonna be there to grant absolution.
Eric: But you--
Kristen: I'm kidding. Come on. You said it yourself that this school probably wouldn't have happened if it weren't for me, and I think I deserve a chance to see the fruits of my labor, don't you?
Kristen: I promise I'm not gonna cause a scene.
Eric: Why am I not so sure I can believe you?
Kristen: Come on. After all the money that my family and I just kind of threw at this project, we wanna see it succeed. Surely you can understand that a cordial relationship would be to the benefit of everybody concerned.
Ciara: I'm here.
Eric: You sure are. How are you?
Ciara: I didn't know you guys were friends.
Kristen: Crazy, huh? Yeah, I was just saying what a small town it is.
Eric: [Laughs] Is this your friend?
Ciara: This is Jamey. Guess what.
Ciara: He's coming to St. Luke's school in the fall too.
Eric: All righty. Hi, sir. It's very nice to meet you. My name is father Eric. I'm sure you're gonna really like it here.
Jamey: My mom says leaving my old school is gonna change my life. I sure hope so.
Eric: Well, Jamey, I sure hope so too. There are women who sacrifice so much.
Eric: So what are you looking forward to most about coming to St. Luke's, hmm?
Ciara: Well, Jamey said he's never had a computer in his classroom or a real playground with a ball field.
Jamey: And no barbed wire fence.
Eric: Well, you don't need a fence he at St. Luke's. You'll be safe. So y ready for a V.I.P. Tour?
Ciara: What's V.I.P.?
Eric: Very important people! And after all, you are the reason why we built this school. And you will do me a huge favor if you can break in one of our baseball gloves. [Chuckles] If you wanna go to the reception, if you can just stick around for a few minutes, I'll have sister Margaret bring you a ticket.
Kristen: Sure. Thank you. [Sighs] What the hell are you looking at?
Cameron: You wanna voluntarily move yourself into the middle of world war iii?
Chad: Well, I feel like I need to be there for EJ and Kristen. I mean, they've totally been there for me.
Abigail: What about Stefano?
Cameron: Yeah, he asked you to move in before, right? And you wait until his son kicks him out on his ass before you decide to say yes?
Abigail: I-I don't think he'll take that so well, Chad. Do you?
Chad: Well, no.
Chad: Thanks for the advice. It really helped.
Abigail: W-- [Sighs] Yeah, right.
Cameron: Wait, that's all you're gonna tell us?
Chad: I just need some more time to think things through. That's all.
Cameron: Hey, before you go, have you--have you followed up with the doctor about your head?
Chad: You implying something, Cameron?
Cameron: Uh, yeah. It's very hard. You took a bad hit at the lake. I mean, if you haven't gotten it checked out, you--
Chad: Why should I? Like you said, it's hard. I promise you, I'm fine. Thank you for the advice. I'll see you guys later, okay?
Abigail: That wasn't awkward at all, was it?
Cameron: No, but there is always a next time. My break's over. Better get back to work.
Cameron: Have a good day, okay?
Abigail: Yeah, you too.
Sonny: Hey. Brent said that he stopped by. Uh, I'm sorry.
Will: For what?
Sonny: Well, you were sleeping this morning. And I was gonna tell you that I went to that rave, and--
Will: No, thank you so much for not waking me up and telling me that. It's fine.
Sonny: Are you sure?
Will: Absolutely. It was my idea for you to go out and have a little fun.
Sonny: That's true.
Will: Yeah, I'm glad that Brent brought this watch back, though.
Sonny: Me too.
Will: Maybe we should get a new clasp or something, so it stops falling off everywhere.
Sonny: No, it's--it's good. It's okay.
Sonny: I will make sure that it's not going anywhere.
Adrienne: Lucas, hey.
Lucas: Hey. Hey, Adrienne, how you doing?
Adrienne: Pretty good. How are you?
Lucas: Good, thanks.
Adrienne: You know, actually, I was just with parker a little while ago. I showed him this video of Arianna, and he would like to pencil in a playdate with her as soon as she can talk.
Lucas: Oh, really?
Adrienne: [Laughs] She really is beautiful.
Lucas: She is. I just got back from seeing her. She's changed a lot already.
Adrienne: Oh, I know, right? You know what? Let me show you this. It is so cool that we can record these memories. That way, we can never forget. [Laughs]
Adrienne: I think that's so neat. Hold on. I'm--I'm still kinda new to this.
Lucas: High tech?
Adrienne: Yeah, right.
[Heart monitor beeping]
Kayla: Rafe, hi. Do you know who I am?
Kate: And me?
Kayla: Good. All right, listen, I don't want you to exert yourself. You don't need to say a word. I have one more question. Do you know where you are?
Kayla: Good. Well, he's oriented to person and place. That's a good sign.
Kayla: It's okay. It's all right, take it easy. Take it easy.
Rafe: Why? [Sighs]
Sonny: You know what I was thinking? Next time there's a party, why don't you go, and I'll stay?
Will: That's okay. I was never really into that scene anyway.
Sonny: All right, well, I have a better idea. How about Gabi stays home with Ari, and you and I can go on a nice, romantic date? Just the two of us?
Will: That sounds sexy.
Sonny: Let's make it happen.
Sonny: All right? I'm gonna go shower.
Sonny: Bye-bye. I'm gonna shower. [Sighs]
Adrienne: The battery's dead. I just charged it last night.
Lucas: Yeah, it's technology. It's all good until you need it.
Adrienne: Mm. [Chuckles] Well, you know what? I'll just send you the video when I get home.
Lucas: Okay. But thank you for being, you know, so great about the baby. You really have. We appreciate it.
Adrienne: She's a sweetheart.
Adrienne: Would you mind saying what you just said to my son? [Sighs] 'Cause lately, he seems to find fault with everything I do.
Lucas: Oh, no, no, no. That's all you. Can't help you there.
Adrienne: Okay. Seriously, Lucas. Just try to put yourself in my shoes. Will's a great kid. And I-I like him, I really-- I do.
Adrienne: But imagine if it were Sonny who'd fathered that baby and then invited the baby mama to come live with them. Hmm?
Lucas: I really don't think we should--
Adrienne: Wait, no, no, really, I'm not finished though. Then imagine if I had been the one to play shoot-'em-up at the hospital and killed a man. How excited would you be for your son to be with my son?
Adrienne: My point exactly. That's all.
Kristen: I get it. He is a good man. [Sighs] You don't have to parade little kids in here to show me how he's changed their lives, okay? That's overkill even for you. You know what? You did this to me. You made me this way. You took love away from me again and again. And now, all I have are my wits. All I have is this burning hatred that I've gotta get rid of, and there's only one way to do it. And no! No, I'm not gonna do it your way. I tried your way, and it doesn't work! [Sobs] Doesn't work, you understand. You can't make me do it. I'm not gonna do it the right way. I'm not gonna do it the right way! [Sobs]
Kayla: You wanna know why you're in the hospital? Well, you know what? Why don't you just focus on trying to get better? That's what you need to do.
Rafe: [Sighs] Need...to know. Why?
Kayla: Okay. All right, all right, well, maybe--maybe Abe will tell you, okay? Go ahead.
Abe: Hey, Rafe. Welcome back, buddy.
Abe: You know, I-I bet the last thing you remember is cutting across the alley near the bakery.
Sami: Rafe. Wait, hi.
Sami: Wow, I'm so glad to see you.
Abe: You were hit from behind, so there's no way that you could have...
Kayla: I think that's enough for now.
Rafe: No. No. Tell me. Tell me.
Kayla: It's all right.
Rafe: I gotta go, so--
Rafe: Yeah. I'm sorry.
Sami: No, Rafe. I can't lose you again. I won't!
Rafe: She shot me. [Sighs] Why? Why did Sami--
[Heart monitor beeping rapidly]
Rafe: Why did she shoot me, huh?
Kayla: Rafe, Rafe, I need you to calm down, okay?
Kayla: Take a deep breath.
Kayla: Take a deep breath. That's it, good.
Rafe: Why--why did she...
Kayla: I need an I.V. 2 milligrams diazepam, stat.
Rafe: She shoot me?
Kayla: You guys need to get outta here now.
Rafe: No, no. Why?
Kayla: It's okay, Rafe.
Rafe: Why? Why?
