Episode #12111 ~ Kristen carries out a devious plan; Sami realizes how much Rafe means to Kate.
Provided By Suzanne
Nicole: Sounds like two people are doing the do. But this is the room number she gave me.
Nicole: [Clears throat]
Kristen: Oh, my God. Really? Hold on.
Nicole: [Gasps] Oh.
Cameron: Hey, Abe. I wanted to see if I could talk to you for a minute.
Abe: Hey, not right now. I just don't have the time.
Chad: You do know, don't you, that when someone arranges for you to get a VIP pass to the area's premiere amusement park and treats you to not one but two corn dogs, it's not very nice to say they made a fool of themselves on the roller coaster.
Abigail: I didn't say you made a fool of yourself. What I said was that you screamed like a girl.
Chad: I think that's sexist.
Abigail: Well, I think it's funny. I think I've had more fun tonight than I've had in a really long time.
Chad: You've got cotton candy in your hair right there.
Chad: It's right here. Actually, you know what? Actually it kind of looks good on you.
Chad: Yeah. You're, uh, more than welcome.
Kate: Wow. It's been a long time since I've seen you smiling.
Gabi: Well, I'm signing hospital release forms. They're kind of like "get out of jail free" forms. I mean, not that everybody here hasn't been wonderful.
Kate: I know, I know. You just want a little alone time with your baby. And the baby's father. And the father's boyfriend.
Kate: I'm not commenting. Actually I'm here to ask you if I could be of any help.
Gabi: Well, I think Sonny pretty much has everything covered.
Kate: You know, I was really hoping that Rafe would be able to hold the baby before he left the hospital.
Gabi: Yeah. Yeah, me too. But I think the doctors are doing the right thing by keeping him in the coma.
Kate: I do too, absolutely. He's going to need all the strength he can get. Especially because he'll be waking up to find out that his ex-wife shot his friend in his hospital room. Talk about, "while you were sleeping."
EJ: Now William, you have to promise me you are not going to say anything to Abe!
Will: I have to. This is all my fault.
Sami: No, it's not.
Will: Yes, it is, mom. Like I said, if I had told the truth about shooting you before, we would not be in this mess.
Sami: Look, it is not your fault that some guy went and attacked Rafe.
Sonny: Hey, you should listen to them, all right? They're right.
Will: [Sighs] If my coming clean can help you in any way, I'm going to do it, okay? I'm gonna tell the truth.
Kristen: What are you doing?
Nicole: Oh, my God. Wrong room.
[Knock on door]
Kristen: Who is that?
Housekeeping. Turn down service.
Kristen: [French accent] Oh, no, merci, we've got it covered. Thank you. [Moans]
Nicole: I am so sorry. [Chuckles] Keep up the good work. What? 235. That's what that idiot woman told me at the front desk. That's it. I'm getting to the bottom of this. I'm gonna find Eric.
Sonny: You know, I think all three of us not only understand, but we admire how you feel, okay? But just this once use a little common sense. You're not even out of the hospital yet from your last act of heroism, and now you're ready to go and take on Stefano DiMera? And maybe go to jail?
EJ: William, just think about this for a second. You're not going to be helping your mother, you're going to be hurting her. You'll be providing her with a motive.
Sami: And I'm thinking about Arianna. We all fought so hard for you to be part of your daughter's life. Are you really ready to throw that away?
Abe: Hello--oh, excuse me. Am I interrupting something?
Chad: I'm sorry. I know I said this wasn't a date. I'm sorry if I--
Abigail: No, no, it's okay. I had a really great time tonight.
Chad: Now we're back to the real world again, huh?
Abigail: Yeah, I guess. I didn't even want to think about it at all, but all that drama came flooding back about will's mom and the video of her attacking that guy.
Chad: That she ended up shooting. So what are you gonna do?
Abigail: I'm not gonna break my promise. I just--okay, look, I know that your brother is engaged to Sami, but--
Abigail: I don't really understand why you're so concerned with keeping her secret.
Chad: Because I think I need to make up for what I did. With what happened at Nick and Gabi's wedding, this whole thing is my fault.
Kate: So there is something else that I want to talk to you about. It's about Nick. I fired him today.
Gabi: What? Wait, I thought you said he was doing a good job.
Kate: Yes, he was, but he did violate a clause in his contract, and I really felt that I had no choice.
Gabi: How did he take it? I mean, is he all right?
Kate: Why are you even worried after what he did?
Gabi: Because I care about him. I mean, does it matter that it didn't work out for us?
Kate: Okay. Look, Gabi, to me that says that Nick still has his hooks into you.
Gabi: No. Look, I know that he makes mistakes. Big ones. But I just feel like he's so lost right now and also losing his job--
Gabi: After losing you, which was his fault, not yours. And everything he did, they weren't mistakes, Gabi. He has to learn that he is never going to get away with treating people the way he does. Especially the way he treated my grandson.
EJ: Abraham, no, we were just having a conversation about William. He's being discharged today, so we're making plans.
Sami: You know, he'll be able to go home as soon as you're finished with him.
Abe: Well, I just need to talk to will and Sonny alone.
EJ: This isn't a friendly visit?
Abe: I just need their statements about the night of the shooting.
Sami: Really? They're the only two people who weren't in Rafe's room that night. Okay.
EJ: Yeah, um-- [Clears throat] I would just like to reinforce the fact that that neither William nor Sonny have legal representation present. Not that they need it, of course, as I'm sure they have nothing to add to your little witch hunt of an investigation. Samantha, why don't we go and wait outside?
Sami: All right.
EJ: Sonny, please make sure that Abraham doesn't tire William out.
Abe: Well, as I said, this won't take long. So, uh, let's get to it. Did either of you see Sami before the shooting that night?
Sami: I can't believe that will is alone in there with Abe. We never should have left him alone--he has this inexplicable compulsion to tell the truth.
EJ: Right. Clearly a recessive gene.
Sami: This isn't funny. It's not. You know, if will talks then Abe is gonna find out that it was Bernardi is the one who stole that evidence.
EJ: Look, I--
Sami: And if he does, it's gonna lead right to the fact that it looks like everyone was covering up evidence that proves that will shot you, and then we all know what's gonna happen to him.
EJ: Samantha, I don't think William's going to slip.
Sami: He's feeling very guilty.
EJ: I know he is. Look, I know that he would like to come clean and I think that he would, if not for the fact that he would be hanging you, your father, his father, and hope out to dry.
Sami: I hope you're right.
EJ: Yeah, me too.
EJ: Come here.
Will: Um, no, I didn't see my mom.
Sonny: Me neither.
Abe: So did either of you know the victim?
Will: Oh, yeah, I know Rafe very well.
Abe: Did either of you know officer Bernardi?
Sonny: I saw him at the coffee house like once or twice, but that's it.
Abe: You? Will, did you know him?
Will: Um, maybe saw him at the police station, but I didn't know him.
Abe: Did either of you see him here that night, in the hospital?
Abe: All right. Well, I guess that's it. I have a few other people I need to see, so thank you for talking to me.
Will: All right. Um...uh... I'm sorry there is one thing that I did want to say though.
[Eric breathes heavily]
Kristen: Now, where were we?
Eric: What-- what is going on?
Kristen: Is something wrong?
Kate: Can I give you a piece of advice? And that is a rhetorical question, because I am going to tell you. I just like to sound reasonable.
Gabi: I don't think I can stop you.
Kate: Don't feel guilty about Nick.
Gabi: I don't.
Kate: Really? Because when I told you that I fired him you didn't really care about the whys--you were just worried about him.
Gabi: Because Kate, the "why" is something that you came up with because of the thing with will. He's very sorry for what he did.
Kate: You see, I think he shares his pain with you because he knows how to use people who pity him.
Gabi: Well, maybe I do sort of pity him, okay? He's been through a lot.
Kate: Shh! Just think of everything that he's brought on himself. Gabi, he committed murder, and then he was more than happy to let someone else take the blame. He gets out of prison supposedly a new man, a changed man, and what does he do? He proceeds to blackmail the father of your baby. Now I don't know if he was trying to cheat me, but he was so incompetent, he allowed EJ and Sami to get my company's formula. So now he has the whole Horton clan surrounding him. They have his back, they're forgiving him, they're making excuses for him. And still he continues to do the same thing.
Gabi: Okay, can you just stop, okay? Because he would do anything for me and Arianna, even knowing that she isn't his.
Kate: God, you know, Norman bates would do anything for his mother, and that doesn't mean it was right.
Gabi: All right look, you've been really nice to me, and I don't want to fight with you, but the only thing I'm gonna say is are you really in a position to be talking to me about relationships? Or to be telling me how much I should care about the person that loved me?
Kate: Okay. Then don't do as I do. But please listen to what I have to say. Because you have your whole life ahead of you. I never learned from my mistakes, Gabi. I went from one dysfunctional relationship to another. From one pretty face to a rich one, and heaven forbid there was a rich and pretty one. I just kind of perfected the art of denial. And now when I realize that all I ever really wanted was a good man... it's probably too late.
Abigail: I think you're crazy to blame yourself.
Chad: Really? You ever hear of the butterfly effect? So this thing with the video and what I did at Nick and Gabi's wedding was more like the sledgehammer effect. All those horrible things that happened afterwards were completely my fault.
Abigail: You don't see that that's a pretty egocentric view of the world?
Chad: Abigail, isn't it obvious that if I had just kept my mouth shut and my nose out of other people's business, everyone would have been better off?
Abigail: No. No, Chad, you don't know that at all. Maybe things would have been a whole lot worse if you hadn't done something. Will has a daughter now... he might not have.
Chad: Let's not talk about will. Let's talk about you. I hate that I betrayed you like that. It's like I took everything we worked on and I just, like, threw it out the window. I'm really grateful that you managed to somehow forgive me as much as you did.
Abigail: Well, luckily for you, you are a pretty tough guy to be mad at.
Abigail: Do you want to come in?
Cameron: I have to be at the hospital at 6:00.
Abigail: Oh, so good night then.
Cameron: I had a terrific time.
Abigail: Are you sure that you don't want to take some of this yummy dessert home with you? Give yourself a nice sugar rush breakfast?
Cameron: Well, I had a great night tonight with you.
Cameron: But I think I'm just gonna take home that sweet memory.
Sami: Hey, so what did you say to him?
Will: Nothing really.
Sami: What did you say to him? What did he say?
Sonny: He told him that you would never shoot Bernardi on purpose and without reason.
Sami: That's it? That's all you said?
Will: Yeah, that's it.
Sami: Thank you.
Will: Hey, no problem.
Sami: Thank you.
Will: Okay, ow! Easy.
Sami: Oh, I'm sorry!
Will: No, that's all right.
Sami: Thank you.
Will: You're welcome. Um, you know, Sonny, could you do me a favor? Can you maybe take mom out for a cup of coffee or something? I'd like to speak to EJ alone.
Sami: Why? What's going on?
Will: Well, if I wanted you to know I wouldn't have just asked Sonny to take you out of here, so...
Sonny: Come on. You know how stubborn he can be.
Sami: What? I wonder where he gets that?
Will: Well, I think we both know who was behind this. Yeah. Thanks for not denying it. My question for you is are you so loyal to Stefano that you would risk my mom going to jail for the rest of her life?
Nicole: So you gave me the wrong room number. Yeah, there wasn't a priest in there. There was a couple, and they weren't exactly playing Parcheesi.
Martha: How horrible for you.
Nicole: For the last time, will you just give me father Eric's room number? Please?
George: Oh, you're still here.
Nicole: Yeah, and I'm not leaving until I see father Eric!
George: Okay, then I'm gonna call the police.
Eric: God, I want you. Like I've never wanted anything.
Kristen: I feel the same way.
Eric: Shh! Shut up and kiss me.
Abigail: Wha--Cameron, hey. Hi.
Chad: [Clears throat]
Cameron: Sorry to barge in.
Cameron: Hey, I was on my break and thought I'd grab a coffee. I didn't know you were closed.
Chad: Yeah, but luckily you know the owner. Your usual?
Chad: All right.
Cameron: Thanks. Well, it looks like you guys had fun. You're not as upset as you were last time I saw you.
Abigail: Yeah, we did. We had a really good time.
Cameron: So that thing you wanted to talk to me about earlier, is it about what's going on between the two of you?
Sami: I just want to know what will and EJ have to talk about that I can't be there. Why did you drag me out of there?
Sonny: Well, this is just, like, off the top of my head but maybe will thinks that you sometimes let things slip that shouldn't be slipped.
Sami: Hey, will is allowed to talk to me like that, you--okay, fine, you can talk to me like that too. And for the record, I am sorry that you have been dragged into this mess.
Sonny: It's okay. You know, my mom warned me that will came with a lot of, uh, complicated relationships.
Sami: I'm pretty sure she used the word, "baggage."
Sami: Hey, you know what? I think we're gonna get along a lot better if we don't talk about the things your mom says about me.
Sonny: Hey, look who's here. Hey, baby, what's up?
Gabi: You want her?
Gabi: Her mama is ready to get out of here.
Sonny: Oh, her daddy and I can't wait. You know, we have this sweet bassinet at home for you. We do.
Gabi: I was just gonna go change her diaper.
Sonny: Well, this would be a good time for a diaper changing tutorial.
Gabi: Well, I know you're gonna catch on real quick. It's not exactly rocket science.
Sonny: All right.
Gabi: Let's go.
Kate: So I saw Abe leave. He didn't look like he was in a very good mood. Word on the street is they still haven't found the weapon, the one that you said the detective had.
Sami: That's right. They haven't. Which is very bad for me. And you love that, don't you?
EJ: Look, I do understand where you're coming from. But this is not a question of loyalty.
Will: Okay, then what is it a question of? Because Stefano sent that man to kill Rafe.
EJ: But I can't prove that. And if I accuse my father, then I prove that Bernardi was in his employ.
Will: Well, you would also prove that mom did what she did to stop that guy from killing Rafe.
EJ: So if I said that he worked for my father, well, now the police are going to investigate that. That means they're going to talk to my father. This might come as a bit of a shock to you, but my father is going to lie to the police, William. He will say whatever he needs to say to prove that Samantha knows Bernardi and that she had a motive for killing him. You know how he feels about your mother. He will relish the opportunity to throw her away and cover his own ass.
EJ: Look, I'm not trying to protect my father. But it's very important that he remains neutral, William, at least until your mother's name is cleared. I will fight as hard as I can to make sure that your mother does not go to prison for killing that man. But I will not tip my hand to my father unless I absolutely have to.
Will: [Whispers] Okay.
Nicole: So I am not stalking him--I am just trying to help him save this school, and he needs his research to make his case. And I already tried faxing it over, and obviously it didn't work. I just want to go to his room, hand him these papers, and I will leave, okay? Why can't you just do this one thing for me, all right? Just tell him that I'm here.
George: It is not our policy to disturb our guests.
Nicole: He's a priest. What's there to disturb?
Eric: What--what just happened?
Abigail: What I had to tell you is--um, it's kind of about Chad, but it's not what you think it is.
Chad: [Clears throat] I'm gonna run for a minute, but the "closed" sign is up, so no one should bother you, okay?
Abigail: So you want to tell me what's going on with you?
Cameron: Okay. Well, you told me that amusement park thing wasn't a date, but when I get here, I see you touching his face.
Abigail: Yeah. And?
Cameron: And we're supposed to be together, but I felt closer to you nine months ago than I do now.
Abigail: Hey, that's not true.
Cameron: You know, feelings, they're not true or false. They just are. I mean, maybe this is just easier for you.
Abigail: Excuse me?
Cameron: I mean, you got two guys on a string so you don't really--you don't have to, you know, get serious with either one of them.
Abigail: Uh-huh. Is this about having sex?
Cameron: You tell me.
Gabi: All right, this did not look this complicated when the nurse showed me.
Sonny: I think maybe the duck should go in the front.
Gabi: Yeah, that's weird. Okay, yeah. Let's try that.
Sonny: What is that?
Gabi: Oh, uh, yeah, I know. Doctor said it's gonna fall off in a couple weeks.
Sonny: Oh, that's something to look forward to. Good thing you're so damned cute.
Gabi: [Giggles] Yeah. Hey, um, I want to say thank you so much for letting us move in with will. I know it's like three's company with a baby.
Sonny: No, I think it's gonna work out great.
Gabi: All right.
Sonny: Just great.
Kate: I think you are being a little paranoid because I am not overjoyed--I'm concerned. If that knife doesn't appear, then your little story starts to kind of evaporate, now, doesn't it?
Sami: It's not a knife. It was a razor.
Kate: Oh, really? So they found it?
Kate: Oh, so the thing that they should be finding in that room, if you were telling the truth is now a razor, not a knife. What a world of difference that makes.
Sami: Okay, fine. Go to hell.
Kate: Sami. I am on your side. I don't think it helps, though, if you change your testimony after the fact.
Sami: I agree with you, but I am not changing my testimony. I said all along that it was a blade, and now I am sure that it was a razor. Knife, razor, who cares? The point is the guy was not going in there to give Rafe a shave.
Kate: Look, I understand the strain you're under. I really do. So let me assure you there's one thing that you don't have to worry about if they send you up the river--I will take care of will and the baby. I'll make sure they have everything they need.
Sami: I am not going up the river, because I didn't do anything wrong. But there is one person we can blame for all of this, and that is you, Katherine.
EJ: I'm not going to let anything happen to your mother, and personally, I'm happy my father is out of the country. It means he can't make the situation worse.
Will: Well, he's gonna get away with another attempted murder though.
EJ: Not necessarily he's not. Look, we should just hope that they find that razor, okay? And you let me handle my father my way.
Will: Okay. So we have to find the razor.
EJ: Yeah. And we have to hope nobody else has seen that video.
Kristen: Ooh, I'm sorry, Eric. Aw, I had to do it, sweetie. If you're seeing spots before your eyes...
Abigail: I can't believe that you are throwing this in my face.
Cameron: Look, I'm trying to find out where I stand with you. Look, I thought we were getting close enough to where things might change between us. But then I come here and I see you looking like you're about to kiss Chad.
Abigail: This isn't the place for this conversation, okay?
Cameron: Maybe not. But we do need to have it. I gotta get back to the hospital.
Cameron: Great bumping into you.
Chad: Hey, you forgot your coffee.
Cameron: It's cold.
Chad: He does not look like a happy camper. And neither do you.
Abigail: It wasn't the best conversation I ever had.
Chad: Well, hey, maybe this will cheer you up. At least I hope it will.
Kate: You're the only one in the world who could shoot a person in the back at point blank range and then blame it on someone else.
Sami: You have feelings for Rafe, you were having an affair with him, and then you threw it in Stefano's face.
Kate: [Cries] I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry about that. I don't know--I don't know-- I should have known that I would end up hurting him. Rafe is the one person I never, ever wanted to hurt.
Sami: Kate, you're human.
Will: Hey, where's Sonny? I'm ready to get the hell out of here.
Sami: Um, he and Gabi went to go change the baby.
Sonny: Ready to go? 'Cause we are.
EJ: Do you need a ride?
Will: No, we're all set. I got the car seat installed, and the entire apartment is babyfied, so we are good to go.
Sami: Well, if you have any questions you can always call me.
Will: I don't think we will. We're shacking up with Mary Poppins here.
Sonny: I am practically perfect in every way. Yes, I am.
Sami: Hey, EJ.
Sami: Take me home.
Kate: I do feel sorry for you, Sami. But maybe a few years in prison will do you and everyone else a world of good.
Nicole: I paid you good money for wrong information.
Martha: Caveat emptor and all that.
George: You know, Martha's pretty hard-hearted, but the story about the schools, it's very touching.
Nicole: So you'll take me to father Eric's room?
George: Well, I have to wait for the phone repairman. I can't leave the desk right now.
Nicole: I'll wait.
George: No, you don't have to--I'll give you his room number and you can go alone.
Kristen: You of all people. I'm so sorry you had to pay for your bitch of a mother. I'm so sorry. I'm so, so sorry. Good-bye. Wherever your summer takes you...
Abe: Hey. Hey. Hey, cam. Hey--look, I'm sorry if I seemed rude before.
Cameron: Oh, that's okay. I know you're busy now that you're commissioner again.
Abe: Yeah, so what is it you wanted to talk to me about?
Cameron: Um, yeah, well, I no longer have a second gig, and I was wondering if I could spend more time with Theo.
Abe: Well, he and I would love that.
Cameron: Great. I'll call you.
Abe: Hey, cam. I mean, I couldn't help but notice you seem upset. Are you okay?
Cameron: I--I'm fine. I'm fine.
Abigail: This is the one.
Chad: That I promised to win for you at the amusement park but I couldn't.
Abigail: So you found one anyway?
Chad: Well, I called the owners and I told them I thought the game was rigged and my last name is DiMera.
Abigail: Oh, hmm. So you couldn't win it for me, so you extorted it with threats and intimidation? Wow, that is so sweet.
Chad: I paid them for it.
Chad: I know you have them scruple things.
Abigail: I have them in spades.
Chad: Abigail, I'm really sorry that I dragged you into this whole video mess. I really am. Is that what you were so upset about?
Abigail: Um, no, actually, it wasn't. You know what? Let's not talk about that. Let's talk about how funny you were on that roller coaster and how much fun we were having.
Chad: Okay. I remember right where we were. Somewhere over here. All right. I think this was up here.
Abigail: Oh. Hm.
Gabi: Oh, Sonny, wow.
Will: Did you do this all yourself? Well done.
Sonny: Well, I'm glad you like it.
Will: I love it.
Sonny: Welcome home.
Sonny: Get in here.
Sami: Why are you doing this? What?
Sami: Oh, EJ, this is so sweet.
EJ: I wanted it to be a surprise.
Sami: It is! You surprised me. Thank you. You know, um, though it hasn't slipped my mind that you haven't yet told me about your conversation with will at the hospital.
EJ: That, my dear, was intentional. William asked me to keep the conversation private, so I have to respect that.
Sami: Will told Sonny that he doesn't trust me to always keep things to myself. I hate when he's right.
EJ: I tell you what, why don't we leave what happened at the hospital at the hospital. Okay? We'll just make the rest of the evening about the two of us.
Sami: Well, it is a wonderful idea.
EJ: Hey. [Whispers] Come here.
EJ: Stop worrying. Okay? I'm gonna tell you exactly the same thing I told William. I will not let anything happen to you. I promise.
Sami: I believe you.
Sami: [Sighs] Well, someone will get the door, right?
EJ: Nope. I'm rather regretting giving the staff the night off, so--
EJ: Yeah, it's all me.
EJ: Well, you know, I thought we would have the house to ourselves.
Is Samantha Brady in?
EJ: I'm sorry, you are?
Sami: I'm Samantha Brady.
This is for you.
Sami: But I--
You've been subpoenaed.
Sami: I'm sorry.
EJ: It's all right.
Sami: I didn't--I mean, he just--
EJ: It's okay. Hey, it's okay. You've been asked to appear before a grand jury.
EJ: It's okay.
Nicole: Eric, are you in there?
Nicole: Eric! Are you all right?
Nicole: Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Eric! Eric, are you okay? Eric! Oh, my God. Eric, baby, what happened to you, Eric? Oh, my God.
George: You're not going anywhere. I know what you're up to.
