EJ: What are you doing? Why aren't you with Gabi?
Will: No, no, no, it's okay. She--she has, like, a spa certificate, so she's going to be there for hours. Um, have you heard anything from my mom yet?
EJ: Not yet.
Will: Uh, maybe I should text her about--about Gabi.
EJ: I don't think she nee any distractions, William.
Will: Okay. I-I don't like this. Everybody's laying everything on the line, and it's-- and it's my problem.
EJ: Well, it's about to be solved. My father's getting rid of the evidence against you, so once your mother gets her hands on Nick's copy of your confession, you'll be home free.
Sami: God, where does he keep his stupid flash drive?
Nick: Gabi, I'm--I'm back.
Adrienne: Uh, uh, Nick. Nick, oh, great. Uh, could you give me a hand with something downstairs?
Nick: Uh, sure, in just, uh-- in a minute, okay?
Adrienne: No, it'll only take a minute. See, it's heavy, and it really needs to be moved down.
Nick: You know, I'm totally down to do that, Adrienne. It's just, uh, give me, like, ten minutes, all right? I have something important I gotta do.
Adrienne: But it's--
Marlena: Hi. I've been looking for you.
John: You were?
Marlena: Mm-hmm. I ran into Roman. He said that you'd had a fight. That didn't sound like you. I was wondering what happened. Oh, wow. You can fight with Roman, but you can't talk to me. Nice running into you.
John: No, don't go. The truth is, I'm-- I'm glad you're here.
Brady: Hey, guys.
Kristen: Ciara just gave us a present.
Brady: Really? That was very sweet of you.
Ciara: Open it.
Kristen: Well, I wonder what this could be.
Ciara: I hope you like it. I hope you both like it. Open it.
Hope: Oh, my gosh. There you are.
Brady: Oh, hey, hi.
Hope: Hello, Brady.
Brady: Please, sit.
Ciara: What are you doing here?
Hope: Oh, sweetheart, looking for you. Mrs. Randall said that you and Ms. DiMera had quite a long talk just now.
Kristen: She's a very smart and very, very cute little girl.
Hope: Well, thank you. I didn't know you knew each other.
Kristen: No, we just met.
Brady: Hope, is something wrong?
Hope: No, no. Nothing's wrong. I just thought that Ciara was on a play date with her friend, Rachel, not having a little chat with your fiancée.
Kristen: I'm sorry. I didn't mean to upset you. She just came up to me--
Hope: I'm sorry, would you excuse us? I really need to talk to Ciara. Come on, sweetheart.
Ciara: I don't want to.
Hope: Ciara, honey, Ms. Hogate called me. You and I need to have a little talk, okay?
Ciara: It's not fair. Why can't I have my envelopes at school?
Hope: Honey, why don't we talk about this privately, okay?
Hope: Now why don't you go say good-bye to Rachel? I'll be right there.
Kristen: You know, I really didn't mean to interfere. She just told me that she got in trouble at school. I wasn't trying to interfere. I promise you.
Hope: Good. Let's keep it that way.
Brady: Hope, Kristen said that Ciara came up to her.
Hope: I'm sorry, would you excuse me? I know, but-- I need to talk to my daughter. Please excuse me. Sorry. Ciara?
Brady: What was that all about?
Kristen: I have no idea. Ciara came up to me, and she told me that she got in trouble at school today because of me.
Brady: That's really strange, because Ciara told me this morning, before she went to school, all about you.
Brady: Yeah. I think you have a child stalker.
Kristen: Well, I have no idea what that's about, except whatever it is, it must have to do with what she gave us, I guess. She wants to see--
Brady: Please show me what it is.
John: I wanted to give you this.
Marlena: Is that why you were glad to see me?
Marlena: Such a pleasure, john. Such fun. Is that what you were going to storage for?
John: I don't want to talk about it.
Marlena: Really? It's a simple question.
John: That I don't have to answer.
Marlena: Like you don't have to talk about what happened with Roman? Don't want to talk about that--
John: Oh, will you just stop it, Doc? I don't have to answer to you anymore. Why don't you just leave me alone, all right?
Marlena: No, it's not all right. I am tired of being treated like this. And I am tired of being treated like this by you.
John: Well, then, go see Roman.
Marlena: Maybe I will.
EJ: I really don't think you need to worry, William. Given your mother's expertise with paternity tests, getting her hands on Nick's copy of your confession is a little bit like taking candy from a baby.
Will: I-I just don't want anyone to get in trouble because of me and the mess that I made.
EJ: Well, look, I don't quite see it that way. I think you're handling the situation very well. You're taking responsibility for what you've done, for your daughter. You're looking out for your family. That's something that I respect and understand.
Will: Thank you.
EJ: Besides which, we're about to be family soon.
EJ: Yeah. That means I have your back.
[Cell phone chirping]
Nick: Damn it. I do not need this right now.
[Cell phone chirping]
Nick: Are you kidding? Ugh, God.
Sami: Oh, my God. Oh, God. Hey, well, he missed out seeing us come out of the closet. Thank God that text came. It was like fate stepping in to help Will.
Sonny: That wasn't fate. That was me.
Sonny: I texted Nick. I told him I need to see him right away, then I told my mom to slow him down, 'cause I need to get out the back and be waiting for him at the coffeehouse when he gets there.
Sami: That was fast thinking.
Sonny: It was, but now I don't know what I needed to see him for. I don't know what to tell him.
Sami: Well, you'll think of something. Here, let me. Oh, my God. Nick has more flash drives than he does hoodies. This is going to take forever. We don't know when Gabi's coming back.
Sonny: I don't know. Here, look. Damn it. His computer's got more protection than Fort Knox.
Sami: Look, none of them are marked. There's no way to tell which one has the confession on it.
Sonny: You know what? Here. Take all these to your office, and I'll figure out a way to get them back in the room.
Sami: I just fell in love with you.
Sonny: Oh. Okay, you know what? Next time, we'll knock over a liquor store, okay? I gotta go.
Sami: Okay. Good luck. Okay. Um--
EJ: What's on your mind?
Will: I'm just afraid that asking Stefano for a favor-- and I'm--I'm aware that a "favor" is a euphemism in this case-- I'm just afraid it's going to be kind of costly down the road.
EJ: Look, I really don't think it's something you need to worry about.
Will: Well, the main thing is, I-I know Mom said it was all her idea, but if someone is--is going to have to pay, I want that to be me, absolutely.
EJ: Oh, no, no, no, no, no. That's not what I meant. No, no. If my father tries to exact any kind of price from either you or your mother, I'll deal with my father, okay?
Adrienne: "Delay Nick. I need five minutes." Well, thanks for the big tip on how to accomplish that. Oh, there you are, thank God.
Nick: Oh, you know what? Can I help you with this later? I'm kind of--I'm late for something.
Adrienne: No, no, no, you need--you need to help me now. This--this is for you and Gabi. I'm--I'm sorry to ruin the surprise. It's for after the baby's born. And I can't budge it, and it can't be here when Gabi gets back, so you need to help me, and then you need to keep it a secret. Now I know you, as a guy, probably don't care that you know about the secret, but women are very, very, very, very sensitive to knowing about secrets and surprises. So, you know, when I was pregnant with Sonny--
Nick: Where would you like me to put it?
Adrienne: Oh, um, in the closet off the living room, pl-- no, no, just-- hold it-- hey--put--it's fragile.
Nick: It's really not that heavy. Frag--slower. I mean, more careful. Be careful, it's--
Kristen: I don't understand.
Brady: I do. She made this picture for Bo. She was talking about how much she was missing him...
Kristen: Oh, right.
Brady: And he was supposed to come home last night, and he got delayed.
Kristen: Oh, no. Her little backpack was stuffed full of envelopes and papers. She must have given me the wrong one.
Brady: Yeah, she's having a pretty rough day. She almost lost it when she found out he wasn't coming home.
Kristen: Oh, angel. And then she gets in trouble? You'd think the teacher would cut her a little slack, today of all days, right?
Brady: Yeah. You know what was really cute, though? Was seeing you with her.
Brady: I mean, she's a shy kid, but she really opened up to you.
Kristen: Oh, I don't know. I understand her, I guess. I mean, I know what it was like to be a little girl and not know where your daddy is, and when he's coming back. It's not easy, being a little girl, missing your dad.
John: Hey, Victor. Didn't see you come in. How long you been sitting there?
Victor: Long enough. I think it's time, for Brady's sake, that you and I have a little talk.
Sami: What are you up to now, you little snake? Let him sweat.
Sonny: What took you so long?
Nick: You know what, don't even start with me, Sonny. Just tell me what is so freaking urgent.
Adrienne: You took your own sweet time.
Sami: I'm sorry. Did Sonny make it out in time?
Adrienne: Yes, he made it out the back. And I stalled Nick as long as I could. But you know what's really fun? Being a part of a breaking and entering when you don't know why you're breaking and entering.
Sami: Well, I'm sorry, I can't tell you. It's better if you don't know.
Adrienne: But Sonny knows, right? This thing that's too dangerous for me to know, he's into it up to his ears, Sami.
Sami: I understand your concern, and I will look out for Sonny. I like him. A lot, actually. And he and Will are great together.
Adrienne: God, I hate having common ground with you.
Sami: I know.
Adrienne: You know what, I love Will. I do, I do. It's just you. You know, I mean, the baggage that comes with him.
Sami: Good one.
Adrienne: I liked it.
Sami: We don't have to pretend to be nice to each other, okay? I do have to ask you for one more favor.
Adrienne: You want me to drive the getaway car?
Sami: No. I need you to tell Lucas and Allie that I had to go. I had an emergency at work, okay?
Adrienne: Yes, fine, sure. Whatever. All right, good-bye, Sami. As usual, it's been fun.
Sami: Well, I know you don't mean that. Adrienne, thank you. You helped Will today. And I owe you. Big time.
Sonny: So that's, you know-- that's why I'm so worried about Will. You know, his grades are slipping, he's not eating, he's not sleeping--
Nick: What am I supposed to do about that?
Sonny: Nick, it's the stress. Okay? If you can just tell him there's not going to be any problems about him seeing the baby, it would help.
Nick: Oh, my God. How many times do I have to tell everybody? This is Gabi's call. Not mine.
Sonny: Well, that's not entirely true, is it?
Nick: Oh, really? Are you calling me a liar?
Sonny: No. I'm just saying that, uh, you have influence over Gabi. And it'd be cool if you just told Will that you're okay with him seeing the baby, and that you're not going to try to change Gabi's mind. Tell him that everything's going to work out, Nick. It's all I'm asking.
Nick: You know what, Sonny? We've gone over this so many times. I have to ask, what is actually going on here?
Hope: Honey, please, try to calm down. Ciara, honey, you'll find it.
Ciara: It's not here. I gave Kristen the wrong envelope. I made a mistake.
Brady: You really like kids, don't you? You do, I can see it. I mean, you should have seen how relaxed you were with Ciara. It was really-- it was nice to watch. By the way, there aren't many single ladies out there who would voluntarily coach little league baseball.
Kristen: Oh, whatever. I like how uncomplicated they are, I guess.
Brady: You really wanted to have kids of your own, didn't you?
Kristen: Yes, of course I did. But I accepted that it wasn't going to happen for me.
Victor: I've been watching you.
John: I know.
Victor: I want to know what you're up to.
John: "Up to"?
Victor: Don't play innocent with me, John. I know you're involved in some kind of a plan that includes Brady and Kristen. I want to know what it is.
Brady: Did you want to talk about it?
Kristen: No. I don't want to talk about it. We already had this conversation, remember?
Kristen: I said I don't want to look back, I'm looking forward, and no regrets? Remember that conversation?
Brady: Yeah, I remember the conversation.
Brady: That's what you told me, but how do you really feel about it?
Kristen: I feel that I'm marrying you, and that's going to be the biggest day of my life.
Brady: No. Correction. Our lives.
Kristen: Well, I didn't want to talk for you. Not yet, anyway. I gotta go.
Kristen: Dad's expecting me.
Brady: I will see you later. Give Stefano a huge hug for me.
Kristen: [Laughs] Very funny.
Brady: Thank you.
Kristen: I'm not going to let you stop me. I've gotta move forward.
Sami: Hey, we got them.
EJ: You did?
Will: Yeah. Where's Sonny?
Sami: He's keeping Nick occupied, but look. We don't have a lot of time, okay, so we're going to have to use everyone's laptops. Take a turn. I don't know which one has your confession on it, but we need to figure it out before Nick finds out that these are missing.
EJ: Wait a second. Why didn't you do this on Nick's computer?
Sami: Because I couldn't get through all the passwords, and we can't be hanging out in Nick's room anyway. Okay. God, I'm starting to freak out about what else we're going to find on these flash drives.
EJ: Wait a second.
Will: Did you find it?
EJ: No, no, it's something else. False alarm, false alarm.
Sonny: You know, Nick...
Sonny: I have noticed a pattern in the way that you deal with things.
Sonny: You're, like, so reasonable. You know, it's all about what Gabi wants. And then it's the snarl or the threat or the slurs.
Nick: You know, I think you should be careful about the way that you talk to me.
Sonny: Why is that? We try to be civil with you, and you're a jerk. We cave in, and you're a jerk. And I'm trying to talk to you right now like a human being, and you're a jerk.
Nick: Wow, you're really making me want to hear what you have to tell me about Will. And I really want to, like, patch things up with you now. And you still haven't told me, what is going on? Why am I here?
[Cell phone ringing]
Nick: Just hold that thought, okay? Hello? Great, how's it going? Yeah, I can meet you at the spa in--in a couple of minutes, but I-I can't stay that long, because I have to--I have to go do something at home. Okay. I love you. All right, well, here's the part where I'm a jerk again. I'm going to tell you the truth. I don't care about Will's GPA. I don't care about his appetite. I don't care about his grades. I care about Gabi and our baby, and that's it.
Sonny: It's not your baby, you son of a bitch. Sami, I hope you found that confession.
Hope: I spoke to your teacher. And I told her about daddy, and that you're not very happy, these days. She's very concerned, honey, that you're not even trying to pay attention in class. She's concerned that you're not talking to your friends.
Ciara: I just want to draw, all right? I don't want to talk.
Hope: Okay. Uh, I'm going to get some more tea. I'll be right back, okay, sweetheart? That's a beautiful drawing. Ooh, it looks like our house. You might want to postpone our coffee date. We're not having a lot of fun today.
Marlena: All righty. Can I help?
Hope: Uh, I don't know. Ciara's so upset Bo's not coming home.
Marlena: Honey, that's understandable.
Hope: I know, absolutely. To be honest, I'm not completely thrilled with him myself these days. It just seems odd, the way she's dealing with it.
Marlena: Tell me.
Hope: She doesn't want to talk about Bo. And she's become completely focused on Kristen.
Kristen: I had a perfectly lovely day. Planning a wedding, exacting revenge... just a few of my favorite things.
Stefano: And you have no second thoughts?
John: There's no plan, Vic. Not "up to" anything.
Victor: Oh, there's a plan, all right.
John: Think what you like, Vic. I'll see you.
Victor: Then I guess I'll just have to pick Brady's brain. You have a problem with that?
John: Not a good idea.
Victor: You just don't want Brady telling Kristen that I think you're up to something. Make me an ally, John. We both want what's best for Brady.
John: What's best for him is for you and everybody else just to keep your mouths shut.
Victor: I saw you back there, at the coffeehouse. I saw what it took out of you to treat Marlena that way. Now, I know you well enough to know that I can't stop you from doing whatever you've got planned in your head. But do you have to go through it alone?
John: You've gotta swear to me, Vic. You've gotta swear to me on Isabella's grave that what I'm about to tell you right now stays right here, just between me and you.
[Knocking at door]
Will: I got it.
Will: I shot EJ, and you went to prison for me.
Sami: We did it. We did it. Oh, we did it.
Sonny: Hold on, hold on. Hey, hold on. We're not in the clear yet. We're not in the clear yet. I've got to get the rest of these flash drives back to the house. I heard Nick talking to Gabi, and he's going back home, so I have to hurry up.
Sami: Okay, he's on his way there now?
Sonny: Well, he's meeting her at the spa. We don't have much time. So I'm going to go.
EJ: We wouldn't want this to be easy, would we?
Will: Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Um, thank you. Thank you, Sonny. Thank you.
Sonny: Just remember, you get the 2:00 A.M. Feedings.
Will: Okay. Okay, um-- I mean, I think it's obvious that I-I can't express how thankful I am to both of you. You know? Um-- I guess this hasn't sunk in. I mean, it's been hanging over my head so long.
Sami: I know, sweetie. I know.
Will: Well, I'm going to, um-- I'm just going to take a walk, and I'm going to get some air, and clear my head, and I'm going to throw this thing in the middle of the river, okay?
Sami: Wait, wait, wait. Before you, um, go, I have one thing I want to say. I love your boyfriend.
Will: Me too.
Sami: A lot.
Will: Me too. Okay, okay.
Sami: Get to work.
Will: Thank you. Thank you.
EJ: [Laughs] Come here.
EJ: Oh, my goodness.
Sami: Thank you.
EJ: This worked out perfectly, didn't it?
Sami: Do you think there's a patron saint of returning stolen goods without getting caught I could pray to right now? 'Cause--
EJ: I don't think we need to worry. I don't. I have faith in Sonny. William's going to throw that drive into the river. My father's man is getting rid of all of the evidence. He's home free.
Sami: It's thanks mainly to you.
Sonny: Hey, is Nick home yet?
Adrienne: No, no. And Lucas and Allie already left.
Sonny: Okay, that's good. I just need a couple more minutes up there. If he comes home, just stall him. I need to put everything back exactly the way it was.
Adrienne: For the record, I hate this.
Sonny: I know you do. Okay, this is the last time. I promise. I love you.
Sonny: I'll text you when I'm out.
Adrienne: Well, I'll text you if he shows up.
Adrienne: "Hello, Nick. Parcheesi?" "Parcheesi?"
[Cell phone buzzes]
Marlena: You know, when I was your age, I used to love anything that had to do with brides. Is that why you're so fond of Kristen?
Ciara: You're like mommy. You don't like Kristen, do you?
Marlena: Oh, I didn't say that.
Ciara: You don't have to. I can tell. But I do like her. She listens to me.
Marlena: She does?
Ciara: And she's always nice. Really nice.
Hope: Hmm. Hey, uh, sweetheart, do you want to go talk to tom and pick out something delicious for dinner? You can have two desserts tonight.
Ciara: Oh, so you guys can go talk about me?
Marlena: Being raised by you and Bo, you can't expect her to be a pushover.
Hope: I'm sorry. I know Kristen's not your favorite subject.
Marlena: No. Especially not today.
Brady: It's Brady black. I want to set up a meeting right away.
Kristen: I assure you, Father, I have no regrets. This is almost over, and then I'll finally be free.
Stefano: And freedom? Freedom is so important to you? I have seen you with Brady, and you certainly don't seem to want to be free from him.
Kristen: It's not difficult for me to give a convincing performance of loving him because there is some genuine affection. He's an amazing man, and I care about him. Just not half as much as I hate John Black. And when I get my revenge, I can move on. Do you understand that? I can move on with my life, and it will work.
Victor: You know, John, whatever you tell me will remain strictly confidential. Because I know, whatever you've got planned, it's going to be in Brady's best interest.
John: I have finally figured out how I can protect my son from Kristen. It took a while for me to make sure I was right about something, but now I know that I am. Despite everything, Brady's bride to be still wants me, Vic.
Kristen: You see, it will work. You know why? I convinced John that I want him. Checkmate.
Adrienne: Hi, there you are. Hey, Gabi just called. She's at the spa.
Nick: Yeah, I just saw her.
Adrienne: You did?
Adrienne: You did. She's--she probably needs a ride. Geez.
Sami: What? What? What's wrong?
EJ: You have a little explaining to do, young lady.
Nick: Okay. All I have to do is triple Vargas' money, and he'll be off my back.
Victor: Kristen still wants you? That's revolting.
John: But useful.
Victor: And you're going to tell Brady that? I don't think he's going to believe you.
John: He won't. This has gone too far for me to talk any sense into Brady. No, Vic, what I have come up with is far more convincing than words. It's sick and it's twisted... but it's the only way.
Kristen: I know what you're thinking. You're thinking that what I'm doing is sick. You think it's twisted. Believe me, I've thought this through, and it is the only way.
Sonny: Hey. So it turns out that I had, like, three or four seconds to spare, but I got the flash drives back in the room, and Nick doesn't know what's missing. Literally.
Will: Well, I threw the flash drive containing my confession in the river. And I was thinking that everything you did made that possible.
Sonny: I thought you'd look a little happier right now.
Will: I-I am.
Sonny: You should be happier.
Will: I am, trust me. But I was also thinking that these last few weeks, man, have been all about me and my little problems. And I'm--and I'm sorry. I guess I was just worried that maybe we kind of lost each other for a minute.
Sonny: It's not going to happen.
Sonny: 'Cause I won't let it. What do you say we get the hell out of here?
Will: Yeah, okay.
Kristen: And so, on the very day that Brady thinks he's going to hear me say I love and honor him for the rest of our lives, till death do us part, he's going to find me in bed with his father.
Stefano: Thanks for sharing. Again.
Kristen: See, John thinks that I plan on holding on to Brady forever, and that by keeping him away from his father, that that's my great revenge, you see. So he's going to assume that, when I so impulsively and recklessly succumb to temptation and make love with him again, after all these years... he's going to think that that will ruin my plan, that I will be unhinged and, ultimately, destroyed. But, see, he's wrong. He will be destroyed. He will be decimated. And, of course, so will Marlena.
Marlena: And things with John just keep getting worse and worse.
Hope: Maybe it just seems that way. Marlena, you knew it was going to take time for John to forgive you.
Marlena: It's more than that. We don't even talk anymore. He is deliberately pushing me away. I know him. I know when he shuts down, and he is shutting me down... for good.
Hope: I am so sorry.
Marlena: So he doesn't even think we can get back together. Not ever. I'm beginning to feel the same way.
John: There's only one way to make Brady see Kristen for the selfish, manipulative, cold-hearted bitch that she is. I'm going to seduce her, Vic. I'm going to sleep with her before Brady can marry her. And then, and only then, will I be able to open my son's eyes to who she really is.
Brady: Thanks for meeting me. I promise to make it worth your while.
Victor: Well, couldn't you do something less drastic than sleeping with her? Couldn't you just kill her?
John: No, Victor. This is the only way.
Victor: Really? I mean, you couldn't have Brady break in and catch you kissing or something? I mean, I'm afraid if he comes into the room and sees you two going at it, he's going to go blind.
John: No, Vic. She could talk her way out of anything but that. Don't you see? If Brady actually sees us making love, like I saw them, it will finally destroy anything he has ever felt for that woman.
Woman: It won't be easy, you know.
Brady: I don't care what it takes. Just make it happen. Now.
John: I tell you, Vic, it's the only way.
Stefano: Does it really have to go that far?
Victor: You realize, no matter how you try and justify this to her, Marlena is never going to forgive you. You're going to lose her and Brady.
John: I know that.
Stefano: You will lose Brady forever.
Kristen: I know.
Victor: You're all right with losing your only son?
John: He will never forgive her. It'll be over forever, Vic, and that is all that matters.
Stefano: Brady will never forgive you.
Kristen: I know. That's sad. I never wanted to break his heart. I guess I'll just have to call it collateral damage, you know? Once it's done, I will have accomplished everything I came back to Salem to do.
John: I know I may lose Marlena. But then, I may have already lost her. But I have to save my son.
Kristen: And so, to that end, I will do what must be done.
