Chloe: You're a good man, Daniel. And you do know what real love is. So, please, let me help you. Don't shut me out.

Daniel: [Sighs]

[Cheers and applause]

[Up-tempo country rock]

[Women cheering]

Abigail: Which way do you think he went?

Chad: I don't know. Does it matter? He's long gone by now.

Abigail: [Sighs] Damn it.

Chad: Yeah, I know. We drove all the way to Chicago for nothing.

Abigail: Oh, no. I left my purse in there. I'll--I'll be right back.

Chad: Are you serious?

Abigail: I left--I left my purse, I left my purse. I-I have to, I left my purse. I'm serious.

Larry: All right.

Chad: [Sighs]

[Cheering]

[Cheering and screaming]

Nicole: Hey. What are you still doing here? I thought you were leaving for the religious conference.

Eric: I am, and I may not be coming back.

John: Whoa. What an unpleasant surprise.

Kristen: Should I have called first?

John: You shouldn't have come at all.

Kristen: Oh, don't be that way. I was going through some things I left at my father's, and I found this. Go ahead, open it.

John: [Sighs] You kept these.

Kristen: I did. For some reason, I felt the need to share them with you.

[Doorbell rings]

Hope: You're not gonna believe what I just heard, that you quit your job at the hospital after a huge fight with Daniel?

Jennifer: Yeah, I did.

Hope: But what happened? I-I thought you two were back together, that everything was fine. What happened? Look, I heard about all of this third-hand. Kayla told me what Maxine told her...

Jennifer: Oh, okay, well, next time, I'll send out a group email.

Hope: And quite frankly, none of the things she said you said sounded at all like you.

Jennifer: Well, next time I break up with someone, I'll try to sound a little bit more demure.

Hope: That's not what I meant. Cuz, I know that you love Daniel. I know how happy you were when it finally worked out, so I don't know what's going on with this flip act, but you're not pulling the wool over my eyes. Something is not right here.

Jennifer: No, something is not right here.

Hope: Look at me. Whatever it is, can't you work it out?

Jennifer: The answer to that is no.

Daniel: I ca--I can't. I can't. [Exhales] I can't. No, come on--

Chloe: Yes, you can. This is right. This is meant to be.

Nicole: You might not come back?

Eric: I haven't talked about this with anyone except Father Matt. These are transfer papers.

Nicole: [Scoffs] Transfer papers? What, do you mean, like, the army or something?

Eric: Or something. The Bishop is apparently considering moving me elsewhere, maybe after the conference is over.

Nicole: Well, he's an idiot. I mean, what about all the wonderful things you've done here? We need you here.

Eric: Nicole, he is also my commanding officer, who's doing God's work, so please, let's not call him an idiot.

Nicole: Well, I didn't take any vows. [Sighs] This is horrible news. I mean, what about all the things that you've done for the school?

Eric: Maybe there's a parish that needs me more.

Nicole: Wait a minute. Before, you said "apparently" he's thinking about transferring you. What does that mean?

Eric: The Bishop, he alluded to certain changes in the email that the transfer papers were attached to... and one of the changes is me moving out of St. Luke's.

Nicole: All because of these stupid papers. I know. There, hmm? Look at that. Problem solved.

Eric: [Sighs]

Kristen: So strange looking at this picture. It's the picture of an illusion.

John: An illusion.

Kristen: Yeah. I thought we were in love. I thought I was happy. But now that I know what love is supposed to feel like, you know, how deeply meaningful and exciting... hmm, I guess I so desperately wanted to be in love, I told myself I was.

John: [Scoffs]

Kristen: But you know that song, right?

John: Mm.

Kristen: "Ain't nothin' like the real thing, baby."

John: [Laughs] Come on, Kristen. We both know that you don't love Brady, so let's get it right. What's real and what's exciting is using him for your own purposes.

Kristen: That would be so sad if that were true...

John: Yeah.

Kristen: But I guess I would find a way to live with it.

John: Mm-hmm.

Kristen: Anyway, that's the end of my little visit, so enjoy your trip down memory lane, okay? Oh, and by the way, that mullet. [Laughs] What were you thinking? Huh?

[Door closes]

Daniel: Okay, hang on. No. It's not--it's not right.

Chloe: Yeah, it is right. We were in love once, and Parker is proof of that love.

Daniel: Okay, no. Look, okay. This--this--no. You--you were there... when you saw what Jennifer did at the hospital, right? You--you...

Chloe: Yeah, and I saw how cruel she was to you.

Daniel: Okay, I'm not gonna talk about her with you. I just--I can't use you to get over my own problem.

Chloe: Your problem is that she hurt you. She wanted to hurt you.

Daniel: Okay, but that's not Jennifer. I-I don't even--I don't know what's happening, but she--she-- she doesn't lie. She's not that cruel. And, yes, okay, I'm a mess, and I have no right to take advantage of you. I don't. Look, you are the mother of my son, and hurting you would be like hurting him. I...

Chloe: I'm gonna repeat myself. You are the best man I've ever known.

Jennifer: It's--it's really not complicated. I mean, Daniel and I, we just weren't ready to, um--or I'm not ready to move on, and I'm--and I'm still not over Jack, and I'm not ready for another relationship. And really, I don't know if I ever will be.

Hope: But I saw you with Daniel, and you were so happy.

Jennifer: Hope, I really don't wanna talk about this right now, okay?

Hope: No, you know what? It's not okay, because I'm not buying any of this. Does this have to do with Chloe?

Jennifer: No! It--it is about me and Daniel. Can you please just go? Please?

Chad: Come on, Abigail. Let's get out of here. [Sighs] Fine.

[Cheering]

[Up-tempo country rock]

[Cheering and screaming]

Over here! Apollo! Apollo! [Screams] [Giggles] I remember the day my doctor said I had diabetes.

[Cheering and screaming]

[Up-tempo techno]

Chad: Wow, wow.

Abigail: Chad, I saw Cameron.

Chad: So did I, and a whole lot more than I ever wanted to.

Abigail: He's a stripper? Why?

Chad: I-I don't know. I mean, he's a doctor. Maybe he got tired of telling everyone else to get undressed and he wanted to see how the other half lives.

Abigail: No. No, this is not funny.

Chad: It--it kind of is.

Abigail: He saw me, Chad. He knows that I know. What am I going to do?

Chad: I don't know, make sure you have enough fives and tens for his next routine.

Abigail: Stop it. I'm getting out of here. I need some fresh air.

Larry: Sorry, sweetheart. You're not going anywhere.

Eric: That was a very kind gesture, and I really appreciate it, but it's out of our hands.

Jennifer: But you just got here. I mean, what about everything that you've done, and all the money you've raised for the school, and that killer holy week?

Eric: Hey, you're using a very poor choice of words.

Nicole: And you spend so much time in the hospital, and you take in criminals for no reason, and--I just don't understand.

Eric: Listen, I asked Kristen and Brady for their resignation. Maybe that's just what they frown upon.

Nicole: Well, are you your brother's keeper?

Eric: Kate said that. You know, we're supposed to want to be our brother's keeper.

Nicole: Now you're arguing with the bible?

Eric: You know what I'm gonna miss? I'm gonna miss discussing theology with you because you really, truly have a unique point of view.

Nicole: You're not gonna miss me because you're not going anywhere.

Eric: Nicole, I took a vow, a vow of obedience, not a vow to obey only when I wanted to. Hey. It's okay. Don't be upset.

Nicole: What am I gonna do without you? [Exhales] Damn Kristen DiMera. This is all her fault.

Nurse Emily: I am telling you, I thought Jennifer Horton was gonna lose it.

Nurse Carla: She had lost it. Imagine publicly dumping a man as fine as Dr. Jonas in this seller's market?

Nurse Emily: And she was so mean and so loud. Kinda makes you wonder what he possibly could've done to get her that whacked out.

Daniel: Chloe, you should go.

Chloe: No. You shouldn't be alone tonight.

Daniel: Okay, listen, I'm-- I'm--I'm gonna be fine. Okay, tomorrow, I will--I will go see Parker. Yeah, maybe--maybe I can call Melanie, and the three of us can meet in New York city, and--

Chloe: No, you know what? It will just be easier if my mom brings him back here, you know? Craig and Joy, they'll understand, so don't worry about it.

Daniel: Okay, Chloe, you don't have to do that.

Chloe: No, don't worry about it, and you know what? I'll be back tomorrow morning to get the rest of my things, and please, don't worry. Just focus on Parker. You haven't lost him.

Daniel: Chloe. Thank you.

Chloe: Mom, hey, it's me. Jennifer and Daniel, it's done. You can bring Parker back—now.

[Doorbell rings]

Both: Hi.

Jennifer: Um, I am so sorry. This is not a good time, really.

Kristen: I know. That's why I'm here, and I'm not leaving until I know you're all right.

Larry: Step over here, please.

Abigail: I think you should take your hands off of me.

Chad: Okay, you should--you should probably step away.

Cameron: Wait, no, hey. Thanks, Larry. Hey, I--hey, I asked him to make sure you didn't leave, okay? I think we need to talk.

Larry: To be clear, we don't like anybody upsetting the talent.

Cameron: It's okay.

Chad: Talent? I didn't know taking your clothes off was a talent.

Cameron: Oh, my God, I can't believe you followed me. Invading my privacy like this?

Chad: You know what? If you want privacy, maybe you should look into another line of work.

Abigail: Okay, Chad, you're not helping.

Chad: I'm not trying to help him. I'm trying to make fun of him. I'm--I'm sorry, I'm sorry.

Cameron: Well, I think you should tread pretty lightly here.

Chad: Oh, come on. You expect me to take this seriously? You're a doctor by day, Magic Mike by night?

Abigail: Stop it, Chad.

Chad: You know what? And for the record, we weren't trying to invade your privacy, okay? We are your friends, and we were just trying to help you. We're worried about you.

Cameron: Well, if you were my friends, you wouldn't be here.

Abigail: Sorry to burst your pompous little bubble, Apollo, but that's just crap, and you know it.

John: [Sighs] You brought these here for a reason, Kristen. I sure as hell better figure out what that reason is.

Kristen: It's very upsetting. I like Daniel. I was hoping the two of you could be happy.

Jennifer: Well, it just wasn't in the cards.

Kristen: Is this about Jack?

Jennifer: Oh, Kristen, can you please leave? Please?

Kristen: It is about Jack, isn't it? Always has been. Peter loved you so much, and even though Jack did such unforgivable things, you never would leave him.

Jennifer: Okay, well, that's history.

Kristen: And history has a way of repeating itself. You blow off the nice guy for the one that treats you like dirt, and that's the one that remains forever ensconced in your heart.

Jennifer: Go away now. Please go away, Kristen.

Kristen: Okay, I'm sorry. I'm sorry, Jen. Maybe I'm talking about myself.

Jennifer: So John is still firmly ensconced in your heart?

Kristen: That's not what I'm saying, Jennifer. Look, I'm not here to talk about me or about history, you know? Listen. I'm sincerely worried about you.

Jennifer: Don't be.

Kristen: I know you. The way that you dumped Daniel, it's not you. I mean, you don't hurt people like that, and you certainly don't do it in public. I think you could have a really, really hard time living with what you've done, Jen.

Jennifer: Well, that's my problem, isn't it? And for the record, the one who really got hurt here is Daniel.

Daniel: [Exhales] What? No. I'm not taking that, no. I'm not giving up on us.

Jennifer: Listen to me. We are done. It's over. Take it!

Daniel: [Exhales] [Sighs] [Groans]

[Knock at door]

Daniel: [Sighs] No. No, no, no, no. Chloe, I cannot--no, please. No, I don't-- oh. It's you.

Maggie: Honey. Listen, I'm sorry. I can't believe the way that Jennifer treated you.

Daniel: Okay, okay, what I don't wanna do right now is talk about Jennifer.

Maggie: Well, then we won't.

Daniel: Okay. Okay, Mom.

Abigail: I think you have a lot of nerve taking that moral high tone when I just saw a bunch of women stuffing small bills into that--that thing you were wearing.

Chad: Hey, quick question. How much money can you fit into one of those? I'm just curious.

Cameron: What I do here is my personal business, and I didn't realize I needed to check my rear view mirror to see if my friends were following me.

Abigail: Well, I wasn't following you when I saw you paying off that creepy-looking dude at the hospital, Cameron.

Chad: Wait, what guy? Who? Who?

Cameron: That's none of your business. And if you thought it was any of yours, then why didn't you talk to me about it?

Abigail: I tried. I tried. You basically slammed the door in my face.

Chad: That is true.

Abigail: Thank you.

Chad: I am a witness. That was when she thought you were all freaked out that she was still a virgin.

Abigail: Wow, thanks, Chad. Maybe next time you mention it, you could use a bullhorn.

Chad: Sorry, sorry.

Abigail: Cameron, you are obviously in some kind of trouble here.

Cameron: I don't need your help, and I don't owe you an explanation.

Abigail: Well, then I guess you are right. We aren't friends, because in my book, when one friend sees another friend in trouble, they do whatever they can to help them, even if it means wearing a stupid helmet and riding on the back of some stupid motorcycle in the middle of the pitch-black dark because they are scared to death!

Cameron: You don't trust me. And the truth is you never have. And that's what's held us back. So, bottom line, you don't have to worry about me anymore.

Chad: Maybe you should stop using the term "bottom line."

Cameron: [Exhales] I can take care of myself.

Chad: Oh, you can? Is that what the gun we saw you carrying was for?

Eric: Nicole, what are you doing?

Nicole: What needs to be done. I'm calling the bishop, and I'm telling him that he can't do this.

Eric: Gee, what a great idea. Not only is it surely gonna work, but it won't raise any questions why my personal female assistant is making personal phone calls about a confidential matter.

Nicole: But wouldn't he want to hear from the lost sheep? That's what I was, and you went and you found me, and you brought me back, and what would happen to me if he made you leave?

Eric: You know what's gonna happen? You're gonna keep going on with your life. Every day is gonna get better. And every day, we're gonna be thankful for all the time that we had and how much good it was for both of us.

Nicole: [Sniffles] Yeah, like, I'm really good for you.

Eric: You are. You... you helped me with my nightmares about what happened in Africa. Nicole, you always had my back. You made me laugh... [Chuckles] Even when I didn't think there was much to laugh about when I showed up. You turned me around. I thank you for that.

Nicole: [Sniffles] I can't stand this.

Eric: You can because you are tough as nails. You are one hell of a friend.

Nicole: [Exhales] Eric, I don't--

Eric: You know what? We are gonna save those good-byes, and seeing that I have to leave very soon, I have a lot of packing to do.

Nicole: [Sniffles]

Eric: You know, before I go, there is a favor that I have to ask of you.

Maggie: Looks like I'm interrupting.

Daniel: Yeah? What's that? Oh, yeah, don't worry about it. I'm a doctor. I am fully trained in pain management.

Maggie: And it always works? I remember all the times that a drink helped make me feel better, like never. But, you know, listen. I'm the alcoholic, and--and you're not. That doesn't give me the right to stick my nose in your business.

Daniel: No, well, you know, even I can see this is kind of cliché. I mean, this is a cliché, right? Aren't I smack-dab in the middle of one of those Sinatra songs about losing the dame, draining the bottle, right?

Maggie: Yeah, but he didn't have a mom on hand to fix him a hot cup of tea.

Daniel: Okay, no, I just-- [Cringes] Please. I don't--

Maggie: You know what I wish? I wish that I knew what to do to make you feel better, because you don't deserve this, and I feel like it's all my fault.

Daniel: Oh, really? Gee, here, I thought I was blaming Jennifer.

Maggie: Oh, come on. We both know that I was her biggest cheerleader. I love her with all my heart. I just don't like her very much right now, and I don't wanna have anything to do with her after what she did to you. But for the life of me, I don't know why she did it.

Daniel: Really? Well, I do. Jack.

Kristen: I know you hurt Daniel, but it seems to me there's enough pain to go around.

Jennifer: Kristen, even if you are pretending to be my friend, can you please leave?

Kristen: Okay. No, and I do honestly wanna be your friend, Jen. But look, I get it. Jack and I didn't always get along.

Jennifer: Oh, really?

Kristen: However, I feel that fundamentally, he was a good man and he honestly loved you. And I know that he wouldn't want you to live your life mourning him, and he wouldn't want you to pass up a chance at happiness in his name. Okay? Now I'm done.

Jennifer: [Sighs] I am sorry. Daniel, I am so sorry. I didn't have a choice.

[Doorbell rings]

Jennifer: Oh, God, could--could you give me a break? [Groans] Chloe, this is a bad time.

Chloe: Yeah, rough day.

Nicole: I would've thought by now, you'd know you could ask me anything.

Eric: I was wondering about Vargas. I know he'll be Father Matt's responsibility. I was just, you know, hoping that you would kinda cut him some slack.

Nicole: [Chuckles] What do you mean? Vargas and I, we get along great now. We're like best friends. We finish each other's sentences.

Eric: Okay, well, I didn't know you two had worked things out.

Nicole: Well, it--it'd just be a lot easier, right? I mean, since we have to coexist here.

Eric: Yeah, sure. Well, anyway, I'm really gonna miss you.

Nicole: You don't know the half of it.

Abigail: Chad, Chad, come on.

Chad: Oh, my God. I can't--I-I can't stop laughing right now.

Abigail: This is not funny.

Chad: It's not funny? We were worried to death because he had a gun, and it turns out to be a prop for his stripping cop routine.

Cameron: Just get the hell outta here.

Abigail: Hey! Look at me, Cameron. I am not laughing.

Chad: Oh, wow.

Abigail: Why are you doing this?

Cameron: Because I need the money, okay?

Abigail: Wait, you're a doctor. I mean, why--

Cameron: With a mountain of student loans, and I had to help out my mom.

Abigail: So you borrowed money from that guy?

Cameron: Yes.

Chad: Okay. Joking aside, you are family. You're Lexie's brother. Why didn't you just come to me, man?

Cameron: Well, I'm not gonna take money from the DiMeras. This is my debt and my personal responsibility to pay it back. So all I want from you, from the both of you, is to promise not to tell anyone, please.

Abigail: I promise. Chad!

Chad: Oh--okay, I'm sorry. Look, I'm--I gave you a hard time, and I'm sorry, but like I said, you are family, okay?

Cameron: Well, if the tables were turned, I'd probably give you a hard time too.

Chad: [Laughs]

Cameron: Well, now, I gotta go back to work.

Chad: Go get 'em, Apollo.

Abigail: Thanks.

Chad: [Sighs]

Abigail: [Scoffs]

Jennifer: Get off my porch, and leave my house right now.

Chloe: Well, this won't take long, but I have something to tell you. Parker's on his way back. But if you do anything to try to get back into Daniel's life, then I'll take him away again. So just to be clear, Daniel can be with you or he can be with Parker, but not both.

Jennifer: Wow. Do you ever think about your son as anything other than a pawn? Or really, do you ever just stop and think, Chloe?

Chloe: You know, I don't really care what you think about me as long as you're out of the way.

Jennifer: Don't worry. I will be because I want what's best for your son, and since he is saddled with such a witch of a mother, I really want him to have his father in his life.

Chloe: Great, martyr yourself. You love to do that.

Jennifer: I hope you're happy, Chloe!

Daniel: I know you're worried about me, but you gotta know that I'm not gonna go out and do anything stupid. And I may not have Jennifer right now, but I have my son, and I don't have to wait 18 years to get to know him.

Maggie: Thank God.

Daniel: Right? And you know what? As a matter of fact, Chloe's mom is bringing him back right away. So I have a pretty good reason to have a clear head in the morning, right? And you know what? I do know that drinking is not going to help. It doesn't make anything better. It never does.

Maggie: That is all I wanted to hear. Oh. Daniel, what Jennifer did, it was hurtful, and the way she did it, and it was classless, and I made sure she knew it.

Daniel: Well, damn. I think you went off on me once before. I might actually feel sorry for Jennifer here. Nah, no, no, no. Okay, I am gonna be okay. I am. I don't anticipate any sleep in the near future, but you know what I'm gonna do?

Maggie: No.

Daniel: I'm gonna go for a walk and I am gonna get some air.

Maggie: Good idea. You want some company? Okay, be honest.

Daniel: Uh, no.

Maggie: Another thing you got from me.

Daniel: Hm.

Maggie: I prefer to be alone when I have troubles. Okay, I'll call you tomorrow. Um, let me know when Parker comes back, okay?

Daniel: Yes, I absolutely will. I will. Come on, I'll walk you out. Come on.

Maggie: Okay.

Daniel: Thank you, Mom. Yeah, I didn't really wanna talk, and I do wanna be alone, but I am so glad that you came by. Thank you.

Kristen: [Sighs] Poor Daniel. Brady. Oh. Poor Brady. Is it my fault that men are the weaker sex? No, it's not my fault. It's not my fault.

John: [Sighs] All right, Kristen. What are you trying to tell me?

Kristen: What must be done... must be done.

Nicole: Face it, walker. It's not the Bishop that did this. It's you, right? You got tired of all the impure thoughts under your roof, so you decided to do something about it, didn't you? And I know--I know I asked you for help on this, but I didn't think you'd actually answer me. And I know I don't deserve to be trusted. I don't deserve much of anything... [Sighs] But this is really hard, and he gets me through the day, and I-- I try not to show it, but the days are tough. They're really, really tough. [Cries] Please just don't let him leave, okay? Please don't--don't let him leave.

Eric: Nicole. Guess what. Monsignor called. Those transfer papers were for somebody else. They got attached to the wrong email.

Nicole: What?

Eric: I'm going to be gone for just a couple of days and then I'm coming right back. Did you hear me? It was all just a big mistake.

Nicole: Okay, are you sure? [Stammers] Are you sure about this?

Abigail: Hey.

Chad: Hm?

Abigail: Cameron is never gonna forgive me for this.

Chad: Yeah, well, tonight wasn't great.

Abigail: Yeah, you were a big help. "Oh, go get 'em, Apollo."

Chad: [Chuckles]

Abigail: What was that?

Chad: Well, he'll get over it, okay? He's--he's proud, and he didn't want you to know that he owed money and that he's a... [Laughs] He's a--

Abigail: Really? If you laugh one more time, I swear to God, we're not even friends.

Chad: Okay.

Abigail: It's awful that he has to do this. There's gotta be some other way that he can have a part-time job.

Chad: Well, I don't think manning the all-night drive-through window would pay as much as this does. I mean, you see these women throwing--

[Cheering]

[Groovy music]

John: [Sighs] Well, one thing's for sure. This isn't over.

Kristen: If John doesn't think this is over... I got you right where I want you. [Exhales]
