Kristen: Well, it isn't my fiancée [laugh] I love the sound of that word. Hi fiancée.

Brady: Hi, fiancée.

Kristen: Mm.

Brady: I'm sorry the conference call took so long. It was for--

Kristen: That's okay. I promise I'm not gonna be that wife that waits up by the door, you know, with a frying pan, all bitter.

Brady: Yeah. Have you, uh, have you told your dad yet?

Kristen: Mm-mm, I couldn't. He's in Chicago. So I guess I'm going to have to hold off on hiring that sky writer.

Brady: I hope he takes the news better than my dad did.

Kristen: Oh. You're grumpy.

Brady: No. No, I'm just tired.

Kristen: Well, we have the whole house to ourselves. You want to pick up where we left off, if you get my drift?

Brady: No, I get your drift, but, um, I gotta go back out.

Kristen: What?

Brady: There's someone I have to tell about this, and I want to do it face to face.

Kristen: Yeah, but tonight? You've got to do this tonight?

Brady: It can't wait.

Sami: Are we really actually about to do this? We're doing it, aren't we? We are going to move in together in your father's house.

EJ: Look, I know it's not the most romantic new beginning we could've come up with, but--

Sami: Are you kidding me? You are willing to deal with your father to help me, so that we can have Stefano there when we need to get will out of this situation with Nick. And to me, that, EJ DiMera, is incredibly romantic. But if your sister gets in my face, I'm going to deck her.

EJ: [Laughs]

[Door slams]

Sonny: Sorry, we're-- what the hell do you want?

Nick: Where the hell is Will?

Gabi: Are you really okay with giving up your little girl? Will, please. Tell me, because I need to hear it from you.

Will: No, I'm not okay, actually. I'm the opposite of okay. It's--it is, uh, tearing me apart.

Brady: So you understand.

Kristen: I do. I mean, I wanted to be with you, but like I said before, we have the rest of our lives to be together, right?

Brady: Yeah.

Kristen: And you want to tell whoever this is... in the best possible way.

Brady: [Sighs] Th--this decision was sudden.

Kristen: Right. And a lot of people are less than thrilled, so do what you have to do.

Brady: Thank you.

Kristen: Brady...

Brady: Mm-hmm?

Kristen: I'm so happy.

Brady: I'll see you.

Kristen: Something's very wrong.

Nick: I asked you where your boyfriend is.

Sonny: Yeah, I heard you.

Nick: And don't tell me you don't know, because Gabi's not home either. They're obviously together, aren't they?

Sonny: Wasting your time, Fallon. I don't have to tell you a damned thing.

Nick: [Exhales]

Gabi: I'm sorry. Hey, I didn't want things to be like this.

Will: Me either.

Gabi: But we can work things out, right? I mean, we're friends. We're always going to be friends. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't even be having this little girl, so we're together. We're connected.

Will: Yeah, yeah.

Gabi: For life, right?

Will: Mm-hmm. Yeah, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have even said anything. It hurts, but I know I did the right thing, and, um, and plus my mom would've never left you alone. I mean, she was possessed or something.

Gabi: Yeah, she was very scary. [Sighs]

Will: [Exhales sharply] Do you remember when, uh... [Sighs] You, Nick, and I were the only ones who knew? Yeah, if only Chad had kept his big mouth shut.

Gabi: Yeah, but he didn't. And everybody knows. And now you signed that paper, and I don't know what people are going to say when they find out.

Will: Uh, I will deal with that when I come to it, I guess. I can't think about it right now.

Gabi: Will, I know why you did this.

[Rustling]

Jennifer: Did you hear that?

Daniel: Yeah, I did.

Jennifer: You know what? I saw a bear out there once.

Daniel: Don't even say that.

[Keys jingle]

[Clothing rustles]

Jennifer: Are you scared of bears?

Daniel: No, I'm not afraid. What, are you kidding me?

Jennifer: [Laughs]

Daniel: Us macho guys, we're not afraid of anything.

Jennifer: I think you're afraid of bears.

Daniel: No, I'm not. I'm not, all right?

Jennifer: Oh, yeah, the broom, the broom. [Laughs]

Daniel: Shh. Shut up. Nope. Nothing, not even a squirrel.

Jennifer: Oh, good. Well, come back here, then, macho guy afraid of bears.

Daniel: [Chuckles] Mm. Ok.

Kristen: Hey, baby. I gave Harold the night off so that you and I could-- oh.

Sami: Let me guess. You were cleaning the bathrooms.

Kristen: [Laughs] Hi, Sami.

Brady: I have some news. I already told my dad, which means the world is gonna know pretty soon. But I wanted to tell you personally.

Eric: Mm. You've seen Kristen for who she really is, and you dumped her?

Brady: Not exactly, Eric. Uh... I asked her to marry me.

Eric: You know, I was wrong about you. You're not a complete jerk. You're a moron.

Will: What do you think you know?

Gabi: That Nick made some kind of deal with you because-- because he knows something about your family that could hurt them if it got out.

Will: Did he tell you what it is?

Gabi: No. But I know he used it to convince you to sign those papers.

Will: He used it to convince me? Is that--is that the word that he used?

Gabi: Okay, look, let's not-- I don't want to start on Nick, okay? He's just trying to protect me and the baby.

Will: I'm--I'm sorry. Do you--do you really think that--that you and the baby-- [Sighs] Do you think that the both of you need to be protected from me?

Nick: I know you don't like me. But you need to tell me where Will is.

Sonny: And if I don't? What are you gonna do about it? Hmm? Gonna dig up some dirt from my past, use it to force me to sign some legal agreement that states I have to inform you where Will is?

Nick: I needed to protect Gabi from Sami.

Sonny: That's bull. You needed to protect Will's daughter from the gay boys, right? 'Cause you can't stomach the idea of the two of us having anything to do with that child.

Nick: You know, for once, you actually got it dead right.

[Door opens]

Chloe: Where's Parker?

Nancy: I just put him down. What's wrong?

Chloe: I went to the cabin.

Nancy: And things didn't work out the way you planned. Surprise, surprise.

Chloe: I saw them. They were making love.

Nancy: Oh, Chloe, you watched them making love? Oh, honey, you should not--

Chloe: Please don't yell at me, okay? It's over.

Nancy: What do you mean?

Chloe: It's all over. I've lost Daniel. For good.

Chloe: Daniel loves Jennifer. And she knows it now. When I looked in that window, I wanted to die.

Nancy: Don't die. Think.

Chloe: [Sniffles]

Nancy: And I'll help. And this time, I'm going to come up with a strategy.

Chloe: Nothing is going to work.

Nancy: Chloe... you're beautiful. Look at me. You're talented. And you are way sexier than that Jennifer Horton ever thought of being.

Chloe: [Scoffs]

Nancy: Okay, she's blonde, she's thin, sort of rich. But you have something that she will never have.

Chloe: What do I have?

Nancy: You... have Parker.

Chloe: [Laughs, sniffles]

Nancy: Jennifer will never give Daniel a kid.

Chloe: [Sobs]

Nancy: You just have to think about her as, like, just a little blip on the radar screen. Okay? Turbulence that you've gotta ride out. [Sighs]

Chloe: [Sighs]

Nancy: And, uh, you've got to think about your long-term goals.

Chloe: Mom, you don't know Daniel the way that I do.

Nancy: Right. He's a man. That's all I need to know.

Chloe: No, there's a lot more.

Nancy: Maybe. But I know that he's a man, and he can't keep it in his pants.

Chloe: [Sighs] Mom, that's gross, and it's not true.

Nancy: Right.

Chloe: Look, I know him better than you do. I know him better than anybody. I remember what it was like when he fell in love with me. I had his whole heart and soul, and I threw it away. He would've never cheated on me or left me. And he won't do that to Jennifer either, not in a million years.

Jennifer: I can hear your heart beat.

Daniel: [Laughs] Bet you can. It's pretty happy at the moment.

Jennifer: It sounds happy.

Daniel: It is.

Jennifer: Mm, this is the happiest that I have been in a really long time.

Daniel: Yeah, me too.

Jennifer: And we made it. We're here. We're together.

Daniel: Yeah. And I'm never letting go of you again.

Jennifer: Okay.

Daniel: Okay.

Jennifer: [Giggles]

Daniel: Never. Ah.

Brady: Well, I'm glad you don't judge.

Eric: Morons are very dear to God.

Brady: [Snickers] I suppose this means you won't be marrying us, right?

Eric: I didn't say that. I'm really glad you told me in person. Please, sit. So who else knows?

Brady: [Sighs] Nobody. Just, uh, just you and dad.

Eric: How did he take the news?

Brady: How do you think he took the news?

Eric: Yeah. Yeah. So Victor? My mom?

Brady: Mm-mm.

Eric: Sami?

Brady: No, no, nobody. Nobody knows.

Eric: You know, for a happy guy, you're not shouting from the roof.

Brady: Oh, I'm--hey, I'm here. I told you, right? It's a start.

Eric: Yes, yes, you did, and I'm glad. I know how strongly you feel about Kristen, and if-- you wouldn't have proposed if it's not what you wanted.

Brady: That is--that is right.

Eric: I hope you'll be happy. No matter how I feel about Kristen, I'll always want the best for you.

Brady: Thanks.

Eric: What is on your mind?

Brady: Nothing. Nothing. That's not true. There is, uh-- there is something, and if I talk about it with you, do you promise you're not gonna make a smart remark about it?

Eric: No.

Brady: I'm scared.

Kristen: Want something to eat?

Sami: Oh, no, thanks.

Kristen: Want a drink?

EJ: No, I think--uh, we just came to see father.

Kristen: Oh-oh. He's not here.

EJ: Um... good. Actually, I'm glad to hear you don't run around the house dressed like that when he is home.

Kristen: Of course not. No, he's in Chicago at a meeting. Want me to give him a message?

EJ: No. It's fine, actually. We'll be here when he gets back because Samantha... and myself and the children, we are all moving in.

Kristen: Are you really? Oh. [Giggles]

Sami: Yeah.

Kristen: That's wonderful.

Sami: It--it is. We're very excited.

Kristen: Aw. Good of you to do that.

Sami: Oh, thanks. [Chuckles awkwardly]

Kristen: So Chad’s thinking about moving back in, and you and the kids are moving in.

EJ: Yeah.

Kristen: Father's going to be so pleased. Just wait till Brady finds out. He's going to be ecstatic.

Sami: Excuse me, what-- what is that?

Gabi: I know that the baby and I don't have to be protected from you, Will. It's your mom.

Will: I'm the one who's going to suffer, though. My name's not going to be on the birth certificate. I'm not going to be able to see my baby.

Gabi: Who said you can't see your baby?

Will: Why do you think that Nick did this?

Gabi: Will, you are the one that started. You asked me for a paternity test.

Will: Okay, I did that because--

Gabi: Because it was what your mom and EJ wanted. Okay, look, I never, ever told you that you weren't the father of this baby, so why should I need a paternity test, unless your mom and EJ wanted to sue for custody of the baby?

Will: I would never do that, and I thought you knew that about me.

Gabi: Well, I never thought that you would ever ask me for a paternity test. Obviously, your mom pushed you into that. So how do Nick and I know that she's not going to push you into suing for custody of the baby?

Will: So what you think is, I'm such a pushover that I would let--just let that happen.

Gabi: Will, your-- your mom has a way of getting people to do things, okay? You know that. But now she can’t. Will... I would never, ever stop you from--from seeing your daughter or from being in her life.

Will: Well, better work that out with Nick.

Sonny: Everyone's said that you used to be such a decent guy. Nice, understanding, open-minded. What the hell happened to you?

Nick: That decent guy was weak. He got hooked on pain pills. And he ended up killing someone.

Sonny: So this... is you being strong? Hating Will and me because we love each other? Blackmailing your own cousin to keep him away from his child?

Nick: I'm taking care of Gabi, and that's why I've got to find her, and I swear to God, if Will--

Sonny: If Will what? If will what? Hey! You're not gonna hurt him again. Listen to me!

Nick: Get your hands off me, faggot. You f--

Both: [Grunting]

Nick: I know what you're trying to do!

Sonny: Beat the crap out of a bigot?

Nick: You're trying to report me and get my--my parole revoked.

Sonny: You think the whole world's out to get you. Is that how you think?

Nick: You don't know what I've been through.

Sonny: You need to get some help. You need to talk to a priest or a shrink so they can tell you how messed up you are.

Nick: I don't need to talk to anyone. I love Gabi. And that's all I need.

Sonny: If you're so happy, why are you trying to destroy Will?

Nick: [Laughs] Will's got you, right? [Panting] He's gonna be just fine.

Brady: I've been engaged twice to women that I have loved. And both of those women are dead. Every woman that seems to care about me ends up paying a pretty awful price.

Eric: Brady, no. What--what happened to those women was a horrible coincidence, not a plan. God doesn't work that way.

Brady: Yeah, you know what? I keep telling myself that. But now that Kristen and I are getting married, I'm having a lot of anxiety about this. And I don't want to lose her. I can’t.

Kristen: Oh, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to just spring this on you. I--silly me. I just kind of assumed that Brady told you, you know. But yes. We are getting married. Isn't that wonderful?

Sami: [Clears throat] Yes, wow.

Kristen: Cheers, cheers.

Sami: So Brady asked you to marry him. Huh.

Kristen: Well, I certainly didn't ask him, Sami. [Laughs] I mean, I am a feminist and all that, but I'm a little old-fashioned when it comes to marriage proposals, I guess.

Sami: Sure. Of course.

EJ: Ah, very good. So he's not just moving in. He's going to be my brother-in-law.

Kristen: Yep. Yeah. And now, with you and Sami and the kids moving in, life is just getting better and better and better, huh? Once we do get married, I'm going to have a sister again. Oh, yay.

Sami: [Chuckles]

EJ: [Chuckles]

Chloe: You're being unfair to Daniel. He was always faithful to the women in his life, starting with his first love, Rebecca.

Nancy: Chloe, he fathered a daughter that he didn't even know about, and he broke up your marriage. To me, that's a player.

Chloe: Mom, he would have loved to take responsibility for Melanie. And he did not break up my marriage. I was the one who was unfaithful to Lucas. You know that.

Nancy: Okay, let me ask you this. How come you were able to let Vivian Alamain convince you... that Daniel and Carly were sleeping together, if he is so loyal and true in your mind?

Chloe: Because. I'm-- I'm still that same insecure, geeky girl from high school on the inside. And I just couldn't believe that someone like Daniel could totally be in love with someone like me. But he was.

Nancy: Chloe, this is not beauty and the beast.

Chloe: Would you stop it with the lame jokes?

Nancy: Honey, I am just trying to give you a reality check here. Okay, what about Daniel and Nicole? What about that?

Chloe: They--they were just having fun together. And then Nicole fell in love, and as soon as Daniel realized that, he broke it off because he didn't want to use Nicole, and he knew that he only loved Jennifer. And I saw that tonight. He loves Jenifer the same way he loved Rebecca. And the only way that he'll ever leave her is if she asks him to.

Gabi: Nick's not going to have a problem with you seeing the baby.

Will: Did he say that?

Gabi: No, but I know him, Will.

Will: No, you don’t. You don't know him, and you've married the guy you don't even know.

Gabi: Okay, so what is it that I don't know? Tell me.

Will: Well--

Nick: [Panting] Gabi. I've been looking everywhere for you.

Nick: Will. What's going on?

Will: Well--

Gabi: Will thinks that you want to keep him totally out of the baby's life.

Nick: What? No, no, no, no, no. I never said anything like that. I think it should be up to you to decide Will's place in her life. Of course.

Gabi: You see? Everything's going to be fine.

Nick: Babe, you look--you look pretty tired.

Gabi: I'm okay.

Nick: No, I don't--I don't want to take any chances. I think I should take you home. Come on. Babe, come on.

Will: [Exhales sharply] [Laughs]

Jennifer: Oh, my. All I gave you was a ham sandwich. Daniel.

Daniel: Well, I had it in my coat pocket for weeks. I was going to give it to you both times that we went away. Come on.

Jennifer: What?

Daniel: Yes.

Jennifer: Oh, my goodness. Okay, should I open it?

Daniel: Oh, please. Open, open, open it.

Jennifer: Okay, okay. [Gasps] Oh, my gosh.

Daniel: Do you like it? Do you--

Jennifer: Daniel! Do I like this? Oh, my goodness, it's-- this is so beautiful. This is my birthstone.

Daniel: Yeah, I know. I know.

Jennifer: Oh, my goodness. Daniel.

Daniel: Let me put it on.

Jennifer: Wow, this is so pretty.

Daniel: Right?

Jennifer: Yes.

Daniel: Let's see what it looks like on you.

Jennifer: Okay.

Daniel: Let's see.

Jennifer: How's that?

Daniel: It's perfect. I knew it as soon as I saw it at the jewelry store. It's perfect.

Jennifer: Thank you. Thank you. It's--it's exquisite. Oh, my goodness.

Daniel: Yeah, well, the jeweler told me everything the designer makes is one of a kind. Just like you. [Sighs] I am so happy I had just the right moment to give it to you.

Jennifer: Me too.

Daniel: Because this night is a whole new beginning.

Chloe: When I found out that Parker was Daniel’s son, I was so happy. It's like a miracle had happened. I thought I was finally going to get the life that I should have been living this whole time, in this apartment, with the love of my life and our child. It's all I ever wanted. And I can't have that with anyone else. Mom... what am I going to do?

Brady: Thanks for being understanding. And thanks for listening to me. I know you're not a fan of this marriage.

Eric: Given what Kristen did to my mom, do you think that's unreasonable?

Brady: Eric, she had a meltdown. I mean, she--she went off the rails, and it was a long time ago. I mean, aren't you supposed to be touting forgiveness anyway? I mean, it's almost holy week.

Eric: I've forgiven Kristen. I want her to have a long and happy life.

Brady: You just don't want her to have a long and happy life with me.

Eric: There's too much history there.

Brady: [Sighs] Well, thanks for being upfront about your feelings. I appreciate that. My--my own father-- he looked me dead in the eye and lied to me about everything.

Eric: About what?

Brady: About being able to accept Kristen in my life. It wasn't truthful. He just wanted to get something incriminating on her.

Eric: Are you sure?

Brady: Oh, I heard him say it to your mom.

Eric: Whoa, they're talking?

Brady: Eric, Kristen-- Kristen is the only subject that they truly agree on. They'll do anything to get something on her. Your mom broke into Kristen’s hotel room and went through her private journal. She even wore a wire at one point to get her to say something that she could use against her. They keep trying these things, Eric, and they-- they never give up.

Eric: If you marry Kristen, you'll probably have to live with that.

Brady: Why--why is that? Why? Can't they understand that maybe she changed? Is that so impossible? I mean, look at your life. You know better than anybody that it's possible to change, right?

Sami: [Clears throat]

EJ: Uh, but yeah, no, we should probably get going. Um--

Sami: Yes, yeah.

EJ: Yeah, we, uh-- we'll be back here tomorrow morning before father returns, and we can, uh--

Kristen: Okay.

EJ: We can surprise him.

Kristen: I'm sure he's gonna be just as happy as he was when he found out that Brady was moving in, you know, and I know he's going to be pleased to know that his children are so happy, right, "Eej"?

Sami: Um, listen, I have to, uh, start getting the kids ready and everything for the move, so, um--

EJ: Darling, would you mind just going and opening the car up for me please, and just, uh, I'll be there in a second.

Sami: Of course.

EJ: Thank you.

Sami: Congratulations.

[Door opens]

[Door closes]

EJ: Well. That situation certainly changed very quickly.

Kristen: [Laughs] You're telling me.

EJ: Let me ask you something. Now that you have what you wanted, are you sure you still want it?

Kristen: I am as sure of this as anything I've ever done.

EJ: Okay, then I hope you'll be very happy.

Kristen: I think you might actually mean that.

EJ: I do.

Kristen: Good.

EJ: Look, I'm very sorry if the conversation we had earlier offended you or if I pushed you too hard.

Kristen: Oh, please. You and I and Sami and Brady are all going to be living under the same roof as Stefano. Better hope to God that I have a thick enough skin not to be offended when you tell me what you think.

EJ: [Sighs] It is going to be a very interesting domestic situation, isn't it?

Kristen: Yeah, it's kind of like the first chapter of an Agatha Christie novel, isn't it? So many suspects.

EJ: Right, we're just waiting to see what crime happens first.

Kristen: Except it's the DiMera mansion. There can't be just one, EJ.

EJ: [Laughs]

Eric: Of course I believe people can change, especially when you love someone as much as you obviously love Kristen.

Brady: I've changed too since I've met her, Eric. When she first came back into town, I was at one of the lowest points in my life. I'd just lost my fiancée, Madison. I had--I had lost hope. I didn't think I was going to love again. I didn't think I was going to be happy again. Listen, I-- I understand that it's hard for you, given the history that Marlena has with Kristen, but I was hoping... that you could put that aside and just focus on how happy she makes me.

Eric: I'll work on that.

Brady: It means a lot.

Eric: I'm sorry, um, can I get you some coffee?

Brady: No, no, no, I gotta-- I gotta run. I gotta go.

Eric: Right. Well, thanks for coming by.

Brady: About that coffee, um... how about a rain check?

Eric: Definitely.

[Door opens]

Nick: Babe... you didn't say anything the whole way back. I thought maybe you'd be excited about moving in with Aunt Maggie and--and Victor. You know? Living in a mansion.

Gabi: Yeah, it's just, um, it's something that Will said. He said that I don't, uh, I don't know you. Do I?

Daniel: [Chuckles]

Jennifer: This takes my breath away.

Daniel: You take my breath away. Oh.

Jennifer: Daniel...

Daniel: Hmm?

Jennifer: Wait.

Parker: [Crying]

Nancy: Oh, I'll go check on him, honey. Just drink your tea.

[Crying continues]

Chloe: Right. I'm just supposed to sit here all alone, drinking my tea, while that bitch-- she doesn't deserve Daniel. [Sighs]

Nancy: It's okay, honey. Everything's gonna be okay.

Chloe: You know what? Everything is going to be okay.

Sonny: You all right?

Will: Yeah, yeah. I'm gonna try to be. Um, I mean, Gabi swears I'm gonna be part of the baby's life. I just don't trust Nick.

Sonny: You have no reason to trust Nick.

Will: I know, but she seems like she really means it, though.

Sonny: Yeah, but like I said before, he's really got her snowed.

Will: Yeah, well, I mean, she loves him so much, she's gonna give him anything he wants.

Nick: You know me better than anyone has. My whole life. And I love you. More than I've ever loved anyone.

Kristen: So now EJ and Sami both know. I'm sorry.

Brady: [Groans]

Kristen: She saw this giant rock, and I couldn't lie to her about us getting married.

Brady: I know, I--it's okay.

Kristen: I know.

Brady: The more I think about it, I think it's better that Sami heard it from you and not me anyway.

Kristen: You're right, 'cause EJ was with her, so she had to behave, huh?

Brady: Of course.

Kristen: You seem like you're kind of in a better mood than you were when you left. Is that true?

Brady: Yeah. You know what? I realized that I was worrying about things that I don't need to worry about.

Kristen: Hmm.

Brady: And you know what I want to do?

Kristen: Hmm?

Brady: I want to set a date. I want to set a date A.S.A.P. Let's do this.

Kristen: You know what? I couldn't agree more.

Daniel: Here you go.

Jennifer: Oh, thank you. [Giggles]

Daniel: So. Is, um, something wrong?

Jennifer: Oh, no. Nothing's wrong. I... I just want to say thank you. Thank you for--for fighting for me.

Daniel: We fought for each other. And the fight is over.

Nancy: Sweetheart, he is already back to sleep. You know... maybe the first step in giving up can be the beginning of getting over him.

Chloe: Who says I'm giving up? Finally, everything has become crystal clear. I know what I need to do for Daniel, for myself, and most importantly, for Parker. And I will.
