Kristen: What happened, Brady? What is it you think I could fix?
Brady: Hmm. You can marry me. Because I-I love you more than anything else in the world.
Kristen: Okay. Okay!
Brady: You said okay.
Kristen: I'll marry you. I will. Mmm. Wait. Oh.
Brady: Hey. Mmm. Mmm, I'm so glad you said--
Kristen: Wait, wait, wait.
Brady: What, what, what?
Kristen: What changed your mind?
Nicole: God. I mean, if Eric's gonna continue to stick his holier-than-thou neck out for that menace to society, inviting him to live under our roof like some long lost friend... well, there's really nothing I can do about it. But someone's gotta do God's work. It might as well be me.
Hope: Whoo! What is with the heat? I never thought I'd say that, but it's like an oven in here.
Eric: It wasn't like this when I left this morning. Let me check the thermostat.
Vargas: Radiator's alive and kicking for sure.
Eric: Yeah, it's over 100 degrees on the thermostat. Let me check and see if I can cut the heat off in the hallway.
Hope: Sounds good.
Vargas: Can I ask you a question, detective?
Hope: Sure. What you have in mind?
Vargas: I wonder if you can recommend some kind of counseling that might be available for me. You know, now that I'm on the outside.
Hope: Yeah. Sure. I could look into it.
Vargas: Just I think it might be helpful, you know? I mean, I can't imagine anyone spending time locked up and, uh, not wanting to talk about it.
Nick: That's the first time since we got married. Feel different to you?
Gabi: Feels better.
Abigail: Mom, are you going somewhere?
Jennifer: Yeah, uh, Smith Island.
Abigail: By yourself?
Jennifer: Mm-hmm. I just need to get away for a couple of days.
Abigail: From Daniel?
Jennifer: You know what, sweetie, I wish that there was something we could do to make this right, but obviously Daniel has decided that we are too much work. All right, and given everything that has happened, I can't say that he's wrong.
Daniel: I can't. I can't leave it like this, Jenn. I mean, maybe if each of us just talk and--and I listen... [Sighs] We could-- okay, what time is it? All right, there's time. There's still time before my flight. I just--I gotta make this happen. I gotta make it right.
Nancy: Chloe, what are you doing?
Chloe: Seeing if there's a seat on the next flight to San Francisco.
Nancy: No, no. Chloe, you have overplayed your hand with Daniel more than once, and not succeeded. Your luck is going to run out sooner or later. Hang up the phone!
Chloe: Middle seat on the 10:00 P.M. Flight.
Nancy: You are not going to be on that flight.
Chloe: Would you chill out, Mom?
Nancy: No! You need to chill out. Unless you wanna drive Daniel back into Jennifer's needy, clingy arms.
Chloe: Of course I don't. I want her out of his life. I want that dreary loser out of all of our lives for good.
Kristen: No, no, no.
Kristen: No. It doesn't matter. Never mind. Never mind 'cause it doesn't matter why you changed your mind. It only matters that you did change your mind. And I'm so happy to marry you. I'm thrilled to marry you. Really.
Brady: I want you to.
Kristen: I'm excited to marry you! There's just one thing though. It was just...
Kristen: Kinda sudden. Wasn't it? I mean, the way you did this whole 180 thing.
Brady: Well, I--
Kristen: Because you were so concerned--you were so concerned about John and Marlena and how they would feel...
Brady: I was.
Kristen: About us getting engaged.
Brady: I was concerned.
Kristen: And so I just have one question. If you have any kind of reservations about this--
Brady: Kris--Kris--Kristen, I gotta--I gotta talk. Sweetie, let me talk.
Kristen: I'm sorry. Go ahead. Say something. I have no reservations whatsoever.
Kristen: You don't.
Brady: No, because it feels so right. Everything about this feels right--it feels right in my heart and I--
Kristen: Oh, Brady.
Brady: And I love you. And I'm looking at you--look at you. I've never seen you look this happy.
Kristen: I'm kinda happy.
Brady: You're really happy, aren't you?
Kristen: I'm really happy, yeah.
Brady: I love you.
Nancy: If you want Jennifer to disappear then you can't push things.
Chloe: You're right.
Nancy: She admits it.
Chloe: So I'm gonna think about it.
Nancy: Oh, how refreshing. My daughter's actually gonna think about it instead of barging in and screwing up her life for the nine millionth time.
Chloe: Thanks for the ego boost, ma.
Nancy: Get your ego out of this, missy. It's not about egos. It's about strategizing. If you want Daniel back, you've got to strategize.
Chloe: Fine, okay, strategize. I get it.
Nancy: Where are you going?
Chloe: To get Parker. We're gonna go on a walk. I'm gonna figure out a way for him, his daddy, and me to be a family again.
Abigail: Mom, why are you so angry with Daniel?
Chloe: This isn't what it looks like.
Jennifer: You talked to Chloe. She told you about our conversation and you still don't get why I was so upset? You know what, sweetie? I-I appreciate your concern, I do, and that you wanna help, but this is not a conversation I wanna have right now.
Abigail: Okay, fine. I understand. Is there anything that I can do?
Jennifer: No. No. I-I'm good. It's just it's all me right now and I need to just step back and I need to just put my mind on other things.
Abigail: Well, what if I go with you? I mean, we don't even have to talk, I'll just be there.
Jennifer: No, no, because I don't want you to put your life on hold. I'm gonna be gone a couple days, really.
Abigail: Are you sure, Mom?
Jennifer: Yes, I am positive.
Abigail: What if you called Daniel? Maybe just one last time--
Jennifer: Okay, let me--we have talked this through. We really have. And honestly, the last thing that I want today is to hear from Daniel Jonas.
Daniel: No. No, no, I'm not gonna call her. I'm just gonna--I'm just gonna show up and I'm gonna tell her-- I'm gonna tell her that I love her. And then I'll just take it from there? Yes, yes. I'm gonna just wing it.
John: Hey, it's your old man. Oh, come on, kid. Call me back. I really need to talk to you. We can work this out. I know we can.
Kristen: I found the finest bottle of sparkling cider in the whole wide world. Do you wanna do the honors?
Brady: Mm, ah, I would love to, I would love to. Um, can we keep it on ice for a little while?
Kristen: Are you kidding?
Brady: There's something I've gotta do.
Kristen: You are aware that you just proposed to me, right?
Brady: I am very, very aware of that, but...
Brady: Trust me. I'm not having second thoughts. There's just something I gotta do, and it's extremely important to me.
Brady: All right?
Kristen: Okay. Well, I guess we have the rest of our lives to celebrate, right?
Brady: Oh, darn right we do.
Brady: I love you. I'll be back soon.
Kristen: You better.
Brady: I will be.
Kristen: This is really happening. [Slight laugh] I gotta share this news with somebody.
Hope: I'm impressed, Vargas. And I'm glad you're able to see this as an opportunity to turn your life around.
Vargas: Because it is.
Eric: I couldn't get the heat turned down, unfortunately. So someone's gonna come and fix it, but in the meantime I do know a place that we can go and have lunch.
Hope: Let's go.
Gabi: [Laughs] I feel so lucky.
Nick: Me too. And I promise you this is just the beginning. I'm gonna make every moment of our lives perfect.
Gabi: Well, you're off to a very good start.
Nick: So listen.
Nick: Maggie offered for you to move in with me at the mansion. You know, because I have to keep living with a family member until my parole is over. So I was thinking we could take her up on the offer and then when Arianna Grace is born we could look into getting a place of our own.
Gabi: Well, you've given this a lot of thought, I see.
Nick: Yes, I have, because I think about our future a lot.
Gabi: Mm, okay.
Nick: What do you say?
Gabi: Um... I say I think it's a great idea. [Giggles]
Nick: No, no, no, don't.
Gabi: I have to.
Nick: Don't get it.
Gabi: It's probably Caroline.
Nick: No. No, no, no, no.
Gabi: It's Caroline. Shh. Hello? Hi. Yes, I can do that. Mm-hmm. No problem. Okay. Bye. Okay, well, she wants me to go downstairs and cover for her because she has therapy, okay? You don't mind, right?
Nick: What's a few hours? We're married now. We have the rest of our lives to spend together.
[Knocks on door]
Nicole: Hi--oh, hi. It's you.
Nancy: Hi, Nicole.
Nicole: Yes, is, uh--is Chloe here?
Nancy: No, she's not. She's gone out.
Nicole: Oh, great, I've got plenty of time to kill.
Nancy: Uh, I did not invite you in.
Nicole: I'm so sorry. That was so rude. Oh, wait, you're just a house guest here. And, uh, wearing out your welcome, I'm assuming.
Nancy: Get out, Nicole.
Nicole: No, no, no. You see, you can't kick me out of Daniel's place.
Nancy: What do you want? Why are you here?
Nicole: To make sure Chloe knows her place.
[Knocks on door]
Daniel: Hey, is your mom here? I need to talk to her. It's important.
Abigail: No, you're too late. She's already gone.
Daniel: Go--what do you mean gone?
Abigail: She's gone. She went up to Smith Island to be alone.
Chloe: Oh, is that a ticket to the ferry on Smith Island? Uh, you know the quickest way to the dock is in that direction past the Brady pub.
Jennifer: Oh, I appreciate it, Chloe. Having grown up here, I never would have known that.
Chloe: Hey, I just don't want you to miss the boat. And I'm not speaking metaphorically.
Jennifer: Thank you for clarifying.
Chloe: What I mean is I wouldn't want anything to ruin your trip.
Hope: Hey. You okay?
Vargas: Yeah. Yeah, I just, uh--I haven't been in a public place like this in a long time. I think it's gonna take a little getting used to.
Hope: Well, you just take your time. Relax. Excuse me. Hey.
Gabi: Hey, are you guys ready to order?
Hope: Okay, I'm not seeing things. You're really here and you're working?
Gabi: Yeah, you're not seeing things.
Hope: Well, what are you doing here? You just got married this morning.
Gabi: Well, it--probably slipped Caroline's mind. She had therapy and she asked me to cover for her.
Hope: And you didn't say anything?
Gabi: Well, no, I mean, she's been so great to--to me and Nick, and it's no big deal. I'm happy to do it.
Hope: Thank you. Thank you.
Gabi: No problem.
Hope: That's very kind of you and very much appreciated.
Gabi: It's no big deal.
Eric: Well, the parishioners are running a job bank. They're gonna help you prepare a resume. Look for employment opportunities online.
Vargas: I'm not sure what's out there for a guy like me. I mean, I'm not a genius like some people. But I'm not afraid of having to work hard for what I want.
Daniel: [Sighs] Cannot believe I missed her. Had this conference for a few days and I just--I wanted to talk to her before I left and tell her--
Abigail: Look, Daniel, my mom didn't say too much to me, but I got the sense that the last time you two talked it didn't go well. I think maybe it was too soon. You weren't ready. I really do. I think part of you just is saying that it's too soon. And you're afraid in some way of betraying Jack. I shouldn't have come by.
Abigail: Probably not.
Daniel: Would you, um--would you mind if I left this for her?
Abigail: Sure. [Chuckles] She looks really happy here. You both do.
Abigail: I'm sorry. I need to answer this.
Daniel: No, yeah, go ahead. I'll let myself out. Thanks.
Abigail: Oh, okay. Hi. Nothing. What are you doing?
Kristen: Whoa. Hi.
Kristen: Just where do you think you're going, mister?
Nicole: I'm assuming, uh, you picked these out?
Nancy: And why would you assume that?
Nicole: Well, judging by Chloe's lingerie, she's a leopard print girl.
Nancy: You know, Nicole, if you don't have something nice to say, perhaps you should shut your mouth.
Nicole: Does Daniel know his squatters are redecorating in his absence?
Nancy: Daniel told us to make ourselves at home.
Nicole: I'm pretty sure he was just being nice.
Nancy: You know, Nicole, if you have some information that my daughter might find useful I'll be happy to impart it to her.
Nicole: Useful? You mean her tramp-tastic pursuit for Daniel?
Nancy: My daughter is not a tramp.
Nicole: You're right. Desperate is probably a better word. Look, I told her she's on her own. She has to do her own dirty work.
Nancy: You are such a fair-weather friend.
Nicole: Fair-weather? I think I've been there for Chloe more than you have.
Nancy: Well, you know what Nicole, that door has not moved since you sashayed through it. Perhaps you'd like to leave.
Nicole: But I'm having such a good time catching up with you. How is that out-of-your-league husband doing anyway?
Nancy: Oh, Nicole. You really should leave before I hurt you.
Nicole: I'm sorry, I can't. I have business with my fair-weather friend. I hope your brought an umbrella because I'm about to rain all over Chloe Lane's parade.
Chloe: I don't need to tell you how beautiful the cabin is this time of year. You know, close to spring? Lucas and I, we were really happy living there. Well, until I met Daniel and, well, you know the rest.
Jennifer: Why are you doing this?
Chloe: Excuse me?
Jennifer: Really do you have no sense of decency, Chloe? I mean, I know that we have our differences, but why are you doing this? Really, I'm trying to walk away from the situation and you're just trying to provoke me.
Chloe: Oh, come on, Jenn. Why are you being so hostile? Come on. We have history, you and I. We were family, remember?
Jennifer: No. No. You were just a horrible mistake that my brother made.
Chloe: Wow, huh. The claws come out.
Jennifer: Oh, my claws come out? Oh, yeah, right. Oh, and by the way, Daniel's not here so you don't need to turn on the performance for the Chloe Lane's theatre.
Chloe: I'm just trying to make conversation.
Jennifer: Really? Do you wanna talk? Okay, I would love to talk. Why don't we talk about last night?
Jennifer: Oh, what? Really? Somehow--and I don't know how you did this--but you knew that I was going to see Daniel. And when I got there, you made it look like you were in bed with him. And then you went to so much trouble to find me to tell me that it wasn't what it looked like, pretending to be so innocent when we all know that is one thing that you are not, Chloe.
Chloe: Jennifer, I don't know what I did to make you think I would go to such extremes--
Jennifer: Oh, will you stop it, and wipe that smug look off your face. You lie. You are such a liar. And you know what? Maybe you just need a big dose of the truth and that is that you are a duplicitous little tramp.
Chloe: Wow. Well--
Chloe: I had my doubts about you, but now I'm 100% certain that Daniel will never, ever, ever wanna be with you.
Hope: Hey. Hi, married man.
Hope: Oh, my gosh. Look at you. Glowing. I just wanted to say thank you so much for being so incredibly understanding and letting Gabi cover for Caroline on your wedding day.
Nick: Oh, of course. Caroline's always been in my corner. It's the least I can do.
Hope: I really am so proud of you, Nick. You know, the way you've gotten your life back on track, it's just--it's incredible. You really seem happy.
Nick: I am. Why do I sense a "but" coming?
Hope: But I still think it might be a really good idea to talk to someone about your time in prison. Nick, I love you. I only want the best for you. I want your happiness with Gabi to last a lifetime. But if you're carrying around some baggage from your time on the inside, I-I don't want it to come back to haunt you. So would you at least think about talking to someone?
Vargas: It's not just that I spent the last decade behind bars. I've been in and out of institutions my whole life. I mean, that's really what I know. Not that I'm looking for sympathy or anything.
Eric: Oh, I didn't think you would. I truly believe everything is gonna work out.
Vargas: I hope you're right, Father. Either way, I've got a new outlook now and I'm gonna make the best of this opportunity that you're giving me to make sure that I never see the inside of a cage again.
John: You got my message.
Brady: What do you want?
John: I'm not perfect, kid. I made a mistake. And I was wrong. I was wrong to lie to you, to--to mislead you about accepting your relationship with Kristen. But you gotta know that I did what I did because I love you. You're my son. And all of my instincts were propelling me to try to protect you, to take care of you, to keep you from getting hurt. I just hope that you can find it in your heart to...give your old man a second chance.
Kristen: Ooh. So happy to find you here. I guess I'm not the only one with good news to share, huh? Where's Jennifer? Is she here?
Daniel: No, no, she--she took off for a couple of days, actually. I was just heading out myself.
Kristen: Oh. So I guess, from the look on your face, you guys did not patch things up.
Daniel: Uh, no.
Kristen: Oh. I just assumed that, you know, 'cause you were here, that-- sorry.
Daniel: Mm, no.
Kristen: Okay, well, I guess-- I'm just going to leave a note for Jennifer, then.
Daniel: Great, okay. Yeah, that sounds--that sounds good. Um, I-I'll see you later.
Kristen: Hey, wait, Daniel? I don't know if you're aware of my history with Jennifer. It's kind of complicated. You know, we were really good friends, and then-- well, we're kind of friends again, and I care about her. So I'm just going to dive right in and ask you. Did you do it?
Jennifer: Wow, you are even more deluded than I thought. To think that you really believe you have any insight into Daniel or me.
Chloe: How dare you talk like that in front of my son.
Chloe: Daniel's son. How do you know that he doesn't understand every word that you're saying, and that your cruelty could have a severe psychological effect on him?
Jennifer: Oh, Chloe, would you give me a break?
Chloe: And to call me a whore in front of him?
Jennifer: What? That is not what I called you.
Chloe: Daniel loves his little boy more than anything in the world. More than himself. And more than you. So as nice as it's been to have this little chat with you, I'm not going to keep you any longer.
Daniel: Did I do what?
Kristen: Did you sleep with Chloe?
Vargas: Mm, I don't, uh, suppose they take IOUs here.
Eric: [Laughs] Don't worry at all. This is on the big guy upstairs.
Vargas: I appreciate that.
Hope: Thank you, Father Eric.
Eric: You're welcome. If you'll excuse me for a minute.
Vargas: And I want to thank you, too, for all of your help so far.
Hope: I'm happy to do it. You know, I believe people can change if given the right, um, opportunity and the right kind of support and a second chance.
Vargas: I'd like to think so.
Hope: My cousin, Nick Fallon, um, just recently got out of prison, and I have to say, he's really gotten his life back on track.
Vargas: Good for him.
Hope: Yeah. I believe the two of you were at Statesville at the same time. Did you happen to know him?
Eric: I hear congratulations are in order.
Gabi: Yes, thank you. Uh, you can understand why we didn't have a church ceremony this time.
Eric: I do, I do.
Gabi: I-I know I've said it before, but I-I want to say I'm really, really sorry about how things turned out with me and Nick. You know, I-I should have been up front with you, with everybody.
Eric: No, no, I think it was a tough situation for everyone involved. Listen, I have something here for you and Nick. It's a little bit of a wedding present. I was going to leave it with my grandmother, but being that you're here and all, please, open. Christ's first miracle was turning water into wine, in the spirit of celebration. You know, I think there's a message in there, that with love and faith, you can turn a very bad situation into something wonderful, something that you and Nick and will have done with this baby. And I know that a bottle of wine isn't the most appropriate gift for a pregnant woman.
Gabi: No, it's, uh, it's perfect. Well, you know what they say. Wine gets better with age.
Eric: Well, if you say so. Well, you can save it, hold on to it, and celebrate after the baby's born.
Gabi: Oh, thank you. Thank you so much. This means so much to me. But you know what? Your forgiveness means more than anything.
Vargas: Nick Fallon. The name sounds familiar. Young, skinny kid, right? Is he part of the prison release program, too?
Hope: No, he's not.
Eric: Okay. You know, I think that Nick and Gabi are going to be very happy together. Gabi is Nick's wife. They got married today.
Vargas: Lucky guy.
Eric: Yeah. Well, what do you say we all head on back to the church and see if the heater's been fixed?
Hope: Sounds great. Grab your jacket.
Vargas: Lead the way.
John: Oh, come on, kid. Say something. Anything. Yell, scream, curse, take a shot at me, if it makes you feel better. Just give me something.
Brady: I am marrying Kristen.
Nicole: Oh. Well, you're in a good mood. What's got you on such a high note?
Daniel: Where did you hear that I slept with Chloe?
Kristen: From Jennifer.
Daniel: From J-- what? No, Kristen, that doesn't even make sense, 'cause that-- that never happened.
Kristen: Well, that's certainly not the impression Jennifer has. She went to your room last night. Guess who opened the door? Chloe. And guess where you were? In bed, passed out, half-naked.
Daniel: Okay, that-- that never happened. Kristen--
Kristen: Well, that is what Chloe told Jennifer, that it never happened. She came here after to tell Jennifer that she hoped she didn't give her the wrong impression. She doesn't want there to be any misunderstanding.
Daniel: That's what Chloe told her?
Kristen: Mm, yeah.
Daniel: Oh, my God. Oh, my God-- oh, thank you.
Kristen: Ooh, sure.
Daniel: Thank you so much.
Chloe: Okay, sweetness. Grandma's going to take you for your nap, okay?
Nancy: Are you sure you don't want me to stick around? She's in kind of a mood.
Chloe: She's always in a mood. Trust me, I'll be fine.
Nancy: All right. Good luck. Come on, sweets. Let's go in the back, and Grandma's going to read you the story about the blonde, evil witch that came to the house--
Nicole: Always nice to see you too, Nance.
Chloe: So, what's up, Nicole?
Nicole: Well, I wanted to talk to you about your application for the music board at the church. And, uh, it's been reviewed and rejected. Sorry.
Chloe: Don't be. No big deal.
Nicole: Well, I figured you can handle it. If anyone can handle rejection--
Chloe: Speaking of rejection, shouldn't you leave now?
Nicole: You know, Daniel might be okay with you shacking up here with Parker and your mom, but I'll be damned if you're going to use Eric and the church to further your sinful agenda.
Nancy: What's all that?
Chloe: Confetti. We're going to celebrate.
Nancy: That Nicole left?
Chloe: No. That Daniel and Jennifer are finally over.
Jennifer: Daniel, it's going to be okay.
Daniel: Yeah. Yes. Yes, it, uh, it is. It is.
Jennifer: Oh, Daniel. Everything was so right. How did it go so wrong?
Eric: Ugh. You know, I didn't think it was possible, but I think it's hotter in here. Looks like somebody tried to take a crack at it while we were out.
Vargas: They weren't too successful, were they?
Eric: No. You know what, I'm going to go find Father Matt and see if it was him or if he brought in somebody from the outside.
Vargas: And I always thought it was the guys downstairs who had the heating problem.
Nick: Hey. Caroline's back already?
Gabi: Yeah, Kayla dropped her off a few minutes ago.
Nick: What's in the bag?
Gabi: This is a wedding present from Father Eric.
Gabi: Yeah, he says it's one of his favorites. And I, obviously, told him we're going to open it after the baby's born. And I want to share it with Will.
Nick: With Will? Why?
Gabi: Well, because for the first time in a really, really long time, I just feel like things are going to be okay. The three of us are going to raise the baby together. And once Arianna's here, then I want to make a toast with my husband and my baby's father.
Gabi: No what? Nick?
Nick: Will can't be a part of that.
Gabi: What--what-- he can't be a part of-- what are you talking about, Nick?
Nick: Just--just leave it alone, okay?
Gabi: No, stop. I'm not going to leave it alone, okay? You know what, that's it. What is it about will that you're not telling me?
Nicole: Oh, my God. Oh, my--
Gabi: Okay, Nick, I really need you to explain to me why you're acting like this. I mean, we--we both know perfectly well that Will is going to be a part of our little girl's life.
Nick: No, he's not.
Gabi: What? What are you even saying?
Nick: He's not going to be part of--of this little girl's life, because he agreed. He signed away his parental rights, Gabi. In the eyes of the law, will is no longer the father of your child.
[Champagne cork pops]
Brady: How you doing?
Brady: Oh. Hold on.
Brady: Something's wrong.
Kristen: You and--
Brady: Something is wrong here.
Kristen: Why? It's you and me and two glasses of sparkling cider, what could be wrong?
Brady: We're missing something.
Kristen: What are you talking about? [Gasps]
Brady: Come on.
Brady: Come on. Please fit--ahh.
Kristen: You're making all my dreams come true.
Nancy: Daniel and Jennifer are over for good? I don't understand. Did you come up with a plan?
Chloe: Not yet, but I just ran into little Miss Blondie herself at the square. Let me tell you, Mom. She's biting the dust.
Nancy: She's leaving? For good?
Chloe: If only.
Nancy: I don't understand.
Chloe: Well, all I know is that Daniel is getting on a plane, and she's getting on a boat. So I can take comfort in the fact that, tonight, Daniel and Jennifer will be thousands of miles apart.
[Knocking on door]
Daniel: Jenn? Jenn? Answer me, Jenn. Are you here? Jenn?
