Nicole: Dear God, if you're there and you haven't completely crossed me off, I need your help. I need you to do something to set me free from Eric. For once in my life, I'm not trying to be selfish and I'm pretty sure it's too late to save my soul, but please save Eric. Save him from me.

Eric: All right, take care.

Kevin: All I wanted was a little help, but that was too much to ask.

Eric: No. I'll help you.

Kevin: Yeah, you sure will. But the price has gone up. Say a prayer for yourself, priest, 'cause you're gonna meet your maker.

Sonny: You know, we're gonna have to get a bigger place, especially if your daughter's gonna be staying with us.

Will: [Laughs] I love you so much.

Sonny: [Sighs] I love you too.

[Pounding on door]

Nick: Will, open up. I need to talk to you right now.

Will: One minute.

Nick: Will?

Will: One second. Hey, what's up? Are Gabi and the baby okay?

Nick: Uh, no, Will, they're not.

Kristen: The only way that I could convince Brady to move in with me was by telling him that you had one foot in heaven-- or...wherever. Well, thank you for being so understanding. Okay, I'll see you soon.

[Door slams shut]

Kristen: I was just telling my father that--

Brady: That I was an idiot? And I swallowed your lies, hook, line, and sinker.

Kristen: Brady, I know what you heard sounded bad. Just give me one minute to explain to you, okay?

Brady: Like you did-- like you did when you lied to me about the note that was in the trash can? Marlena said that you were driving her crazy. You said it was all about her, and you were just trying to keep me out of the middle. And I believed you. I believed you. Everyone in this town was right, and I was wrong. I was an idiot.

Kristen: You were not an idiot, Brady. Now just listen to me, please.

Brady: I can't believe this! I know what happened. I know what happened. I told you I didn't want to move into your father's house, and you made up a story that he was sick because you knew that's how I would cave in, right?

Kristen: Brady.

Brady: By the way, it's bad karma to wish death upon a relative.

Kristen: Would you please just let me explain?

Brady: Yeah! Please!

Kristen: Just give me five minutes.

Brady: Please do. And while you're at it, I want you to tell me about all the other lies that you've been feeding me. I want to hear 'em all.

[Stefano clears throat]

[Phone rings]

John: John Black.

Stefano: John.

John: [Laughs] So, how'd you do it?

Stefano: How did I find you? After all, you know, you found me, huh? Don't forget that I taught you everything that you know.

John: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Get to the point. What do you want?

Stefano: Well, you know... [Clears throat] I was thinking, you are a man who says that you hate me so much, right? So, I'm a little curious, why are you still here? I mean, 3,000 miles away is everything that you love. You know, I would give it a second thought if I were you.

John: Well, you know, Stefano, the only thing I ever give a second thought to is taking any advice from you. Good-bye.

Stefano: Fine. Hang up the phone, John. That's the thing to do, because you know that whatever I've got to say to you, I have to say to your face, because I'm sure you're gonna want to know what I have to say.

Will: What happened? What? Did Gabi start having contractions again? What happened?

Nick: Gabi is resting now. Her condition is the same.

Will: Well, thank God. You just scared the crap out of me.

Nick: Good.

Will: Good?

Nick: Yeah. You should be scared. The baby almost died today.

Will: Yes, I know that.

Nick: Well, then you also probably know that this never would have happened if it weren't for your mother terrorizing her.

Sonny: No, you can't blame Sami.

Nick: Excuse me? I don't just blame Sami. I blame Will for going along with everything that Sami told him to do. Demanding a paternity test? Really?

Will: You're the one who agreed to it.

Nick: Yeah, because I didn't want to stress out Gabi any more. But I am done being nice, okay? Somebody has to control your mother. And if you don't do it, I will.

Nicole: Like I said, I'm pretty sure I'm the last person that you'd want to help, but if you could just do me this one last favor, I--

[Footsteps approaching]

Roman: Nicole. You okay?

Nicole: Yeah, um, I'm great.

Roman: Okay. Um, I saw you from over there. I just wanted to remind you I need you to help identify the guy that attacked you and Eric.

Nicole: I told you, I can and I will. I will never forget that face. He tried to kill both of us. I just hope you catch him soon so he doesn't hurt anyone else.

Eric: [Choking] This isn't gonna make things better.

Kevin: Shut up! All I want is that cash, and with you out of the way, I'll have it.

Eric: [Coughs, choking]

Abe: Marlena?

Marlena: Oh. Abe! Abe! Oh, how good, good, good to see you. [Sighs]

Abe: Look, uh, you need to know. John is... John's coming home.

Marlena: Oh. Why do you say it like that? You've talked to him?

Abe: Yes. Yeah, I have.

John: You've got five minutes.

Stefano: [Chuckles] Your precious time. Mmm. Ah. I rang. You came. And you are gonna stay as long as I want you to. Because I know you're gonna try to find out if I have harmed Marlena in any way.

John: Well, if you have, God help you.

Stefano: No, no, no, no, no, no. I don't think there's any way I could hurt her more than muddled text you have already done it. After all, you have dumped her.

John: Ooh, come on, come on. Get to the point, will you?

Stefano: Oh, yes, all right. Very good. Anyway, I just wanted to be polite enough to tell you that unless Brady is already--

John: What about him?

Stefano: Your son and my beautiful daughter Kristen are going to live together... under my roof.

Kristen: Brady, I admit I lied. I did. I lied about my father being sick, but I promise you that I have not lied to you about anything else.

Brady: And I should believe you why? Why--why should I believe you? Come on. Come on, your father needed you to take care of him, and of course, I shouldn't say anything about how serious his condition is because, well, he's a proud man and it might hurt his business. I mean, you thought of everything, didn't you? You thought you could pull a couple strings and manipulate me to do what you want, and the sick thing about it is you almost got away with it.

Kristen: Wait a second. Wait. Wait a second. You wanted to live with me too.

Brady: I sure did. I sure did. I wanted to move in with you, but not in your father's house. And the only reason you wanted that was to hurt my dad and to hurt Marlena. Everyone in this town was right about you, and I was blind the whole time, but my eyes are open, Kristen!

Kristen: Wait, Brady! Wait a second! Please! Brady, wait!

[Door slams shut]

Will: Nick, man, calm down, please, okay? Look, my mom was just as upset as anybody else when Gabi went into labor, okay? She gets it.

Nick: Oh, does she?

Will: Yeah. She will back off.

Nick: She doesn't know how.

Sonny: You think you know his mom better than he does?

Nick: Does Will need you to speak for him? Because this has nothing to do with you.

Will: Hey, hey! No. No. Look, we all want the same thing, right? We want Gabi and the baby to be okay. And they are, apparently. But if it makes you feel better, sure, I will, uh--I will keep my mom in check from now on.

Nick: Hmm, like you've done so far? Get real, Will. We both know you can't do that. Nobody can. Not Rafe, not EJ friggin' DiMera.

Will: Then, what--what do you want from me, then?

Nick: I want you to do the right thing. And if you really care about Gabi and this baby, you will give up your parental rights... for good.

Roman: You know, Nicole, I need to thank you. I wasn't real happy when Eric moved you into the convent, but, uh, I'm sure glad you were there.

Nicole: Well, it's too bad your ex doesn't agree.

[Phone rings]

Roman: Oh, it's headquarters. I've got to take this. I'll be in touch. Thanks again.

Nicole: Yeah, sure.

Roman: Okay. Brady.

Nicole: Okay, God, now what? Well, I guess I gotta go back home sometime. Just, please, please make sure Eric is not alone, please?

[Eric choking and coughing]

Kevin: Stay away from me! Okay?

Eric: [Gasping] It'll be okay.

Kevin: Not one step closer.

Eric: You don't have to do this.

Kevin: You don't know me. You don't know what I want to do.

Eric: I know you came in here thinking you would get money for a fix, and that fix would get you through till tomorrow. But there's got to be a reason why you held up a priest instead of a bank teller. I think there's more than just the money.

Kevin: You're right. I did come here for a reason. I-I came here because I hate everything this place stands for.

Eric: No, you're not thinking straight. You're just not thinking straight. Don't make any decision that you can't take back.

Kevin: I made that decision a long time ago.

Eric: You know, I always used to think about myself the same way you do, you know, and then I-I--

Kevin: You what? Hmm? You, uh, turned your life over to God?

Eric: Yes. Yes, I did. You know, I had to get as low as you did to realize that I could not--I could not do this on my own. You can't. No one can. And you're not alone. Just let me help you.

Kevin: After what I did to you? How stupid do you think I am?

Eric: You're not stupid at all. I think God brought you here for a reason. As bleak as things may seem right now... I promise you... you're gonna get through this. I can help you get through this.

[Kevin crying]

Eric: It's okay. It's okay.

Marlena: Abe, sit down. What did, uh--what did John say to you?

Abe: Well, he wanted to know what was going on in town, and then he wanted me to keep an eye on Brady for him.

Marlena: He couldn't ask me to do that?

Abe: He said he'd talked to you.

Marlena: Well, he did, briefly. I could live with anything if I just knew he were coming home.

Abe: Well, he will. I know he will. He loves you too much to stay away.

John: No. No, no, no. Brady would never--

Stefano: Oh, now, look. Isn't that what you said when you learned that he was bedding her? Hmm? Look, if you don't believe me, call your son.

John: Why are you gloating? You can't be any happier about this than I am.

Stefano: Well, I'll admit that it was a little tough in the beginning, but I don't know now. Somehow or another, it seems to be growing on me, you know? [Chuckles] Look, by the way, since your son has dropped you dead like this, I'm sure that you're gonna be concerned that he will not have a father figure, but do not worry, all right? Because I am going home. And if you want, I will play the part of the father.

Kristen: Brady, stop, please?

Brady: What--what--what do you want?

Kristen: I want you to give me another chance.

Brady: You already had one of those, Kristen.

Kristen: I know. Don't you want to know the whole truth?

Brady: Uh, yeah. I just don't think I'm gonna get it from you.

Kristen: Brady, please, you're a good judge of character. You weren't wrong to believe in me. Just really look at me, and see what I have to say, please? You're right. I did shade the truth.

Brady: Why would you "shade" the truth? Why do you feel the need to shade the truth from me?

Kristen: I guess because I love my father. And I can't admit it, even--even a little bit that he's not gonna be around that much longer, I guess. And he is sick. He's sick in the head.

Brady: You just realized this? Of course he's sick.

Kristen: I'm talking about the fact that Lexie died and he blames himself. And he's sick with grief over it. And when he found out about you and me, it just about did him in.

Brady: So, my--my moving into the mansion under a false premise, is that gonna make everything better?

Kristen: No.

Brady: Really?

Kristen: No. It was stupid of me, okay? I admit, it was stupid. I don't know what I was thinking. I guess--I don't know. I thought it would be a first step.

Brady: So, your father's happy about all this?

Kristen: No, but he doesn't want to lose another daughter, and I don't want to lose another parent any more than you do.

Brady: Is that it? Is that it? Is that the whole and complete truth this time, Kristen?

Kristen: Yes.

Brady: Liar.

Will: Nick, you know, I-I thought we discussed this already and we decided that that's not going to happen.

Nick: Will, you were totally ready to give up your parental rights before. You were gonna allow me to be the only father of this little girl so that you two could be free.

Will: No, I wasn't totally ready, and I was wrong. I knew that then and I definitely know it now.

Nick: Till you change your mind again.

Will: I'm not going to. I'm not gonna let my little girl's whole life be a lie. I mean, I'm not gonna let her think I don't want her, because I do. I thought--didn't we decide that we were gonna do this, the three of us, together?

Nick: I was on board with whatever Gabi wanted, until your mom nearly killed the baby.

Will: Gabi went into labor because of dehydration, okay? You're not--you can't pin this all on my mom.

Nick: Okay, all right. So, I guess we'll just leave it all up to chance, then, right? And then what?

Will: I don't know what you're talking about.

Nick: Well, the baby is born healthy, and gosh, Sami Brady's never changed a paternity test, has she? A few? She's never kidnapped a kid once or twice?

Will: She's not gonna--she's not gonna change the paternity test.

Nick: You know, Will, you're not really giving me much of a choice here.

Will: I-I don't know what that means, either.

Nick: Well, if you don't take yourself out of this equation, I'm gonna have to do it for you.

Sonny: Yeah? How are you gonna do that?

Nick: I'm gonna take him to court and I will have him declared an unfit father.

Sonny: Are you saying what I think you're saying, Nick? Is this about Will being gay?

Nick: I'm not doing this to hurt Will.

Will: Right.

Nick: I'm doing this to put Gabi and the baby first.

Will: Unlike me. That's what you're--that's what you're implying?

Nick: Look, when my parole is over, Gabi and I may want to leave town. We may want to start a new life somewhere.

Will: No. Nope. That's not gonna happen. You're not gonna take my little girl away from me.

Sonny: Nick, I have watched my dad litigate hundreds of custody cases, and biology counts for a lot. And I'm sorry, but even if the judge is the most bigoted person in the world, you're a convicted murderer. You will never get custody over Will.

Nick: But see, I served my time. I paid my debt to society. What about you, Will?

Will: Hmm?

Nick: Did you pay yours? Or did someone pay it for you?

Will: It was you. [Scoffs] Oh, no. You again.

Nicole: Eric. Oh, my God.

Eric: It's okay, it's okay. He's not gonna hurt you. You can trust Nicole. She's one of us.

Kevin: What, a sinner?

Eric: Somebody who's been given a second chance. Like me. Like you. What's your name?

Kevin: Kevin.

Eric: Kevin. [Laughs] I'm gonna ask Nicole to call the police, okay? No, it's okay. My dad is the boss. His word is as good as mine. I gave you my word, and I am not gonna break it.

Kevin: I'm so sorry.

Eric: Don't be sorry. You've just taken the first step to turning your life around. I can't promise it's gonna be easy. In fact, I know it's not gonna be. But I can promise you that God is gonna be with you every step of the way.

Nicole: That's the correct address. Thank you.

John: Well, I'm afraid that that is never gonna happen.

Stefano: [Sighs] But it already has, John, all right? I just spoke to my daughter, and she tells me that it's a done deal. There's nothing that you can do about it. [Sighs] You've already lost your son.

John: Well, like I said, never.

Stefano: And your wife. My ungrateful pawn. May you stay this miserable for all the days of your lives. If you'll excuse me, I have a lot of things to get together to get ready to go home. Ciao.

Brady: What you're telling me doesn't make any sense. Look, I'm--I'm willing to shake hands with Stefano. I'm even willing to break bread with the guy, for your sake. But why the hell do I need to move into his house?

Kristen: Because he asked me to. He demanded it of me, actually. And if I don't do it--

Brady: What? What? I mean, are you--are you afraid? Afraid of your own father?

Kristen: I guess I kind of am.

Brady: Really? 'Cause I'll tell you, it didn't sound that way on the phone just now.

Kristen: I certainly don't want him to know that.

Brady: Kris, come on, what is gonna happen if he doesn't get his way? Is he gonna kill you? Is he gonna kill me? Is he gonna shoot us in the head?

Kristen: No, no, stop it.

Brady: Well, then, tell me what's going on. Tell me what this is about. Please tell me the truth, because if you don't, I swear to God, I'm walking away and I'm not looking back.

Eric: Kevin, I'm sorry.

Roman: What do you mean, you're sorry?

Eric: Dad, I promised that he would not have to detox in jail, that he would get treatment and that he would be treated with compassion every step of the way.

Roman: All right, okay. You got it.

Eric: Kevin, this is Commander Brady, my dad. Like I said, his word is as good as mine.

Roman: All right. Kevin, let's go.

Eric: [Sighs]

Nicole: How could you do that?

Eric: What?

Nicole: How could you be so kind to someone who tried to kill you?

Kristen: I'm gonna tell you everything, but you have to please promise and just try to be understanding, okay? Please? And try to be patient with me. This isn't something that I talk about, ever. It's not even something I want to think about. Oh, God. My father, as you know, has done pretty much every horrible thing that can be imagined. I know that. But with me, he's--he's been good to me. He's been understanding and--and caring towards me. He would never physically hurt me.

Brady: But?

Kristen: Okay, when I left Salem 15 years ago, I was his sworn enemy. Can you imagine what he had to-- to--to go through to forgive me? I mean, think about it. If I was to defy him again, I mean, that would be it. That would be my last chance. Life as I know it would be over for me.

Nick: It's me? I--I'm not sure I know what you're talking about.

Will: I'm warning you--

Sonny: Will! Will, he's trying to provoke you. Will, he's trying to provoke you to use something against you. Just relax.

Nick: Your dad might be a great lawyer, but he can't make this go away. Does he know what Will did? Do you?

Will: Get out.

Nick: Do you?

Will: Get out.

Nick: Why? Because you've got something to hide? Sonny, you should know this. Will tried to kill EJ DiMera, and he let his dad take the rap for it.

Sonny: No, that's a lie.

Nick: Is it?

Will: You have no idea what you're talking about.

Nick: Actually, Will, I do. I know everything.

Brady: Kristen, come on. I mean, Stefano's a scary guy, but it's--it's not--

Kristen: Brady.

Brady: What? You all right? What's wrong? What is wrong with you?

Kristen: I don't know.

Brady: Your heart's pounding like a rabbit. What is wrong with you?

Kristen: I don't know.

Brady: Hey, hey, hey, hey, take a--take a breath.

Kristen: I gotta get out of here, I gotta get out of here.

Brady: What are you talking-- what's--where do you want me to take you?

Kristen: I don't know. Someplace where I feel safe.

Brady: All right. Hey, I'll take you home.

Kristen: Okay.

Brady: I'll take you home.

Kristen: I gotta get out of here.

Marlena: Well, thanks, Roman.

Abe: Everything okay?

Marlena: They've caught the man that attacked Eric.

Abe: Oh, man. Thank God.

Marlena: I know. Every time the phone rings, I think it's going to be, well, Sami marrying EJ, or Gabi going into labor, or some awful thing that Kristen's done.

Abe: You feel like you're going through it all alone?

Marlena: Yeah. And nothing compared to what you're going through.

Abe: Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa. Hold on now. You know, it's not a competition. Didn't you tell me that once? You're missing your husband, and he has no reason to be thousands of miles away when you need him. Life is too short.

Marlena: Thank you for understanding that.

Abe: You know, I'm channeling my wife here. Those last few weeks, she taught me so much about seizing the moment.

Marlena: Me too.

Abe: Well, she would say you have every right. You're completely entitled to be upset and angry.

Marlena: Oh. Yes, I know. I know that. I just don't know what to do.

Abe: Well, I think I do. If I were the one asking for advice, I know what you would tell me. You would tell me to pick up the phone and reach out to John, wouldn't you? So, what are you waiting for?

Nicole: Why did that guy come back? Hmm? He came back for the money, didn't he? Oh, my. He hurt you. Why didn't you tell your father?

Eric: I'm fine, Nicole.

Nicole: No, you're not fine. He tried to kill us both.

Eric: Do you think it was wrong for me to offer him a little bit of compassion?

Nicole: And what would Jesus do and all that, hmm?

Eric: What should we all do, Nicole? Hmm? We're all imperfect. We all deserve a little bit of love, don't we?

Sonny: You're leaving.

Nick: Sure. If that's what you want. I'll walk out of here, and I'll go straight to Gabi with what I know. She'll file suit in court, and when it all comes out--

Will: There's nothing to come out.

Nick: Where have I heard that before?

Will: I don't know.

Nick: [Chuckles] Your dad knows. Who else? Your mom? Your grandma? I know you told T.

Will: How--?

Sonny: Will.

Nick: Oh. He told you too, didn't he? Do you really want your boyfriend to have to testify against you in court? Your father? Your friend T? It was pretty dumb of you to let him shoot the gun like that. Yeah. I've got you dead to rights. The question is, what are you gonna do about it?

Nick: I'm not trying to ruin your life here, Will.

Will: Mm-hmm.

Nick: I'm just trying to take care of my family.

Will: Your family?

Nick: Don't you want to take care of yours? Do you really want Aunt Hope and your Grandpa Roman and Rafe all having to investigate this case, having to turn state's evidence against you? Your father would have to testify. And, of course, they could charge him with perjury for lying the first time. See, you're not the only guy who knows something about the law.

Sonny: This is blackmail.

Nick: No, no. It's a choice. Since Will claims that Gabi and the baby mean so much to him--

Will: What do you mean, "claims"?

Nick: Well, you can either put them first willingly, nobly, or you can force my hand. In which case, of course, I will make sure that the entire world knows what you did. But take some time. Think about it. A word to the wise, though. Prison's not fun. Especially for somebody like you.

Will: Oh, God.

Nicole: I guess I don't think I do.

Eric: What?

Nicole: Deserve love. You told that guy--

Eric: Kevin.

Nicole: You told him that everyone deserves a second chance. Well, I've had 3, 4, even 20, and look where I am.

Eric: This isn't all about him, is it?

Nicole: Of course it is.

Eric: Nicole, please, don't. I think it's more about you and why you needed to leave Salem and go visit your sister in Oslo.

Nicole: Oh.

Eric: No. I think we need to stop lying, because if we die tomorrow, yesterday, you know, there would be a lot of unsaid stuff. We need to stop lying to ourselves... and each other.

Nicole: You're right. We do.

Abe: Call your husband. You have nothing to lose--I mean, in my book--and you have a lot to gain. He loves you, Marlena. What?

Marlena: Well, if you happen to believe in omens, uh, the battery's dead.

[Line trills]

Marlena: Hi there. It's Dr. Evans. Please leave a message.

John: Hey, Ben, fire up the jet. I'm going home.

Brady: How are you doing?

Kristen: I'm a little better.

Brady: I'm gonna get you a glass of water.

Kristen: No, please don't go.

Brady: Oh, I'm just gonna go to the bathroom and get you--

Kristen: I know. I don't--I don't need any water, really. I just--I need to talk to you.

Brady: Talk to me.

Kristen: I've never told anybody this, you know that? I mean, you know, except for my therapist, of course.

Brady: What?

Kristen: But when you told me about Ari and Madison and how you were afraid to get married again, I mean, you really trusted me, right? And I know that was hard for you.

Brady: It was very hard.

Kristen: But yet, when you did that, I mean, I felt so much closer to you 'cause you told me something so personal and so vulnerable.

Brady: I had to, because it was about us.

Kristen: This is kind of about us too. I'm just gonna lay it on the line. I'm gonna be as honest with you as you were with me, okay? 'Cause I know that you don't trust me, and I don't blame you for not trusting me. I just--I really need you to see me. I mean, I really need you to see inside my heart.

Brady: Sure, of course. Is--is this about, um, Dad and Marlena or--?

Kristen: Kind of, but much, much more, and I--I've tried to erase it. I've tried to pretend that it never happened to me.

Brady: Kristen, what are you talking about?

Kristen: I'm gonna tell you what happened to me while I was gone from Salem.
