Kristen: No. This isn't gonna work. None of this is gonna work.
Brady: Well, I, um... I thought you'd jump at this idea.
Kristen: You thought wrong. [Sighs]
Brady: Hey. What do you mean, "None of this is gonna work"? You're not-- you're not talking about us, are you?
Marlena: Hello. John. Hi, honey. Wow, I can hear you so well. Are you in Salem? Honey? Wh--wh--what? You're cutting out. Can you hear-- John. Oh, come on.
EJ: So...is he back in town, or not?
Marlena: I didn't know you were there.
EJ: I just walked in.
EJ: I'd be ver-- [Snaps fingers] Thank you. I'd be very interested to know what John thinks about Samantha and I getting back together.
Marlena: Well, when I see him, I'll ask him what he thinks.
EJ: Would you do that?
Marlena: Mm-hmm. Want to know what I think?
EJ: I think I know what you think.
Nicole: Okay, you still...
Nicole: You--you don't think I'm...hung up on Lucas, do you?
Eric: I thought it was possible.
Nicole: I thought you clerics could see through people's souls or something.
Eric: I am new at being a cleric. I haven't found my second sight yet.
Nicole: I believe it. Otherwise you would know that, yes, I still am hung up on one man. But it sure as hell isn't Lucas.
Eric: Well, I guess we know who you're talking about.
Abigail: Hi. What are you doing here?
Daniel: Well, I'm just here to see your mom. But your Uncle Lucas answered the door. He saw me, and he just blew out of here without even closing the door behind him.
Abigail: My mom's not here.
Daniel: Yeah, yeah, I figured that out.
Abigail: Uh, but I am. And I want to know something.
Abigail: Are you really gonna do this to my mom again?
Chloe: You haven't heard? I'm moving in.
Jennifer: Mm. You're slipping.
Chloe: Excuse me?
Jennifer: Last time you said something like this, you were wearing Daniel's shirt, and your hair was dripping wet.
Chloe: If you don't believe me, ask Daniel.
Jennifer: I thought you were staying with Parker at Victor and Aunt Maggie's house.
Chloe: Victor threw me out. He and I don't get along. And Daniel understood that I have to have a place to stay, and you know how he is.
Jennifer: Yeah, I do.
Chloe: What I don't understand is why he didn't go over it with you first. I mean, I thought you two were so close.
Abigail: Melanie sent me pictures of Parker.
Daniel: Oh, yeah?
Abigail: Yeah. That kid is adorable. I'm really happy for you. I am. I mean that. Who doesn't love a happy ending, right?
Daniel: Right. But what you're really wondering is what this means for me and your mom.
Abigail: Yeah. Yes, I am. I saw what Nicole did to my mom, when she wanted to be with you, Daniel, and my mom's right back in the middle again.
Jennifer: Obviously, this just happened.
Chloe: Yeah, but still, I'm surprised he didn't at least call you and tell you about it.
Jennifer: You know, I really wouldn't read into that, Chloe.
Chloe: Okay, if you say so. Listen, I would love to stay and chat, but I'm really kind of busy, and I'm alone here with Parker, and I've got a lot of unpacking to do.
Jennifer: Yeah, I bet you do. I've noticed, wherever you go, you arrive with a lot of baggage.
Chloe: It'll be fun, though. Putting my things back where they belong. And Daniel's gonna be home soon, so we'll have all night to get me settled back in.
Marlena: If you know how I feel, why are we talking?
EJ: Well, because we have a situation that we need to deal with. I know how you feel about my being with Samantha. Samantha feels rather differently.
Marlena: Yeah, well, today.
EJ: Look, Marlena, I think we owe it to her to try and get past our differences. Especially as Brady is about to marry into my family.
Marlena: Well, that's spoken like a real lawyer.
EJ: Now what exactly do you mean by that?
Marlena: You're trying to make it sound like a plea for sanity. But what you're really saying is that I've lost, and I should throw in the towel. I should tell you something. You've got the wrong girl. I know that you and your sister will only cause my family misery. And John and I will not lay down and let you roll over us.
EJ: Marlena... John and Brady are barely speaking to one another. Do you really want the same thing to happen to you and Samantha?
Marlena: Of course, I don't. But you and Samantha won't last. You never do. And Brady and your sister won't last either. Not when they figure you all out. And then, when that happens, John and I will be there for them.
EJ: But I heard that John's not even in town.
Marlena: Don't break my daughter's heart. Is that too much to ask of you?
Kristen: This is not an easy conversation to have. But I guess we have to have it.
[Cell phone rings]
Brady: I'll ignore it.
Kristen: No, n-- go ahead and take it.
Brady: [Sighs] I don't need this right now...
Kristen: What is it?
Brady: No, it's--it's-- it's one of the distributors from one of the subsidiaries, and he wants face time.
Kristen: Okay, well, duty calls.
Brady: No, I'm gonna put him off.
Kristen: No, no. What? So you can have a discussion with your girlfriend? You've got to go, it's okay.
Brady: Kristen, if you're saying what I think you're saying to me...
Kristen: I don't know what I'm saying. You know what I need? Please, just please... please, I just--I need some time to kind of...formulate, I guess.
Brady: Okay. All right, I'll go. And you formulate.
Kristen: Okay. We'll see each other later-- okay?--And we'll talk it--
Brady: Yeah, of course.
Kristen: We can talk it out. Okay. [Giggles]
Eric: You know, it can be hard...to face the changes, with someone you cared so deeply about.
Nicole: Could you just stop?
Eric: You know, something that you want...just isn't anymore no matter how bad you want it. I believe in the tincture of time. But I also believe... you were just...too much of a life force to invest in something that no longer exists. And I know you can't believe it now, but... you're gonna get over Daniel.
Eric: You know...you know, sometimes I find it comforting to know that God is there. That he is always...hearing my prayer.
Nicole: Are you telling me to pray?
Eric: I know that's not something you wanted to hear right now.
Nicole: Still not seeing into my soul. Otherwise you would know that that is the best thing that you could say to me.
Daniel: I know this is a big adjustment, and there are some problems. I admit that, I do. But the reason I'm here is to work those problems out with your mother. She's so important to me that, honestly, I...I have trouble finding the words to even talk about it.
Abigail: You sound sincere.
Daniel: Trust me, I am sincere. I really am.
Abigail: Well, all I know is that my mom's unhappy. You didn't do anything to stop Nicole from making my mother's life miserable, Daniel. And you're not doing anything now to stop Chloe from doing the exact same thing.
Daniel: Okay, okay. What exactly is Chloe doing to her?
Abigail: I don't know. But I do know that if my mom's hurt again, I'll make you sorry that that happened.
Daniel: I won't--
EJ: Oh, my goodness. I can't seem to go anywhere this morning without bumping into a member of your bloody family.
Brady: [Sighs] Bite me.
EJ: You know, my sister tells me that you're quite a catch. I tell her she's out of her mind, but she won't listen.
Kristen: What the hell is the matter with me? I should have just ended it. God.
[Kicks can, can crashes]
John: Littering is against the law.
John: And I'll tell you what's the matter with you. You got in too deep. Your plan didn't include developing actual feelings for my son, did it?
Kristen: How long have you been standing there?
John: Mm...long enough. So the whole idea was just to break his heart, right? But somehow it was your heart that wound up on the chopping block.
Kristen: Don't be ridiculous.
John: See, I'm gonna get my son back, and I'm gonna make things right with Marlena. But you, on the other hand... you are just gonna wind up... the big loser. Again.
Kristen: [Grunts] Oh, God, I'm losing it.
Marlena: Whew! You seem upset. Oh, goody.
Eric: You know, feelings like you're having can take a long time to resolve.
Nicole: Yeah, you don't know the half of it.
Eric: You ever tried praying?
Nicole: What am I supposed to do, get down on my knees and what?
Eric: Improvise. Say what's in your heart. You can practice with me.
Hope: Oh! I'm sorry. I...thought you were alone.
Eric: Uh, no. Can you just give me a few more minutes?
Nicole: No, that's okay. Hope, what do you need? [Laughs nervously]
Hope: I've been made the department liaison for community outreach.
Nicole: Oh, lucky you.
Hope: I thought I'd start by scheduling the kids' field trips to the station.
Eric: Yeah, I can do that.
Nicole: No, no, no, no, no. Nope, field trips are my responsibility, so I'll take care of it.
Eric: Is that you telling me to make myself scarce?
Nicole: Mm-hmm. Bye. Bye-bye, bye-bye.
Eric: Okay, call me if you need me.
Nicole: I will.
Eric: Are you sure you're gonna be okay?
Nicole: I'm fine. Go.
Eric: Good to see you.
Hope: Yeah, good to see you too.
Nicole: [Laughs nervously] What?
Hope: Nothing. Should we start with the middle school group? Or the little ones.
Nicole: You don't think I belong here, do you?
[Knock on door]
Chloe: Hi, Maggie.
Maggie: Bad time?
Chloe: No, I-I just thought it was Daniel, and he forgot his key. Come in.
Maggie: [Laughs] Okay. Oh, um, where's my grandson?
Chloe: Oh, he's napping. Sorry.
Maggie: Oh, well, that's okay, I came to see both of you. Actually, I wanted to talk to you about what happened with, uh, with Victor.
Chloe: Oh, yeah, I'm--I'm so sorry I didn't say good-bye before I left, but Victor wanted me out as soon as possible.
Maggie: Come back to the house, Chloe. Leave Victor to me.
Chloe: I can't.
Maggie: But we have everything all set up so we can help you out with Parker.
Chloe: I-I won't live in the same house with a man who hates my guts. And you know Victor does.
Maggie: So you are here, um, because you're afraid of what Victor might do?
Chloe: Well, I'm here because my son belongs with his father.
Maggie: Don't treat me like I'm stupid.
Chloe: Excuse me?
Maggie: You are here because you can't stay away from my son. Who do you think you're kidding, Chloe? Not me. Not Jennifer. And definitely not Daniel.
Abigail: Well, I, uh, have a lot of homework.
Daniel: I don't know if your daughter thinks I'm a complete jackass or just a stupid idiot.
Jennifer: Well, wait till she finds out you moved Chloe into your apartment. That should help her decide.
Daniel: You know?
Jennifer: Yeah, yeah, I know. I went to your door, and she answered it. And then she just loved rubbing my face in the fact that you moved her into your apartment, but she didn't have time to chat, because she was really busy unpacking, Daniel.
Daniel: Okay, can we have this conversation without yelling?
Jennifer: Without yelling? Oh, yes, let's be completely reasonable, until this situation is so ridiculous, then can we yell?
Daniel: Okay, Jen--Jen. No, can I just have one word?
Jennifer: Yeah, knock yourself out.
Daniel: I'm not gonna be living with her and Parker.
Jennifer: Oh, really? Does Chloe know that? Because that's not what she thinks.
Daniel: I don't give a damn what she thinks! I care about what you think.
Jennifer: Oh, okay.
Daniel: Let me tell you something, I already booked a hotel--yeah, booked it. I came here to tell you that. I'm not gonna be moving back, until Chloe moves out.
Daniel: Okay, you got blindsided, and--and Chloe did that. I'm not a complete clueless idiot, and, yeah, I can see that she's gonna be a problem. But there is no problem with you and me, none.
Jennifer: Daniel, if you would have called me, if you would have let me know in advance that you were going to move her into your apartment, you're right, there wouldn't be a problem between us, but you didn't. You made the decision by yourself. And then you come here, and you're asking me to just deal with it? Really?
Daniel: Wow. Wow, it's not just Chloe you have a problem with, it's actually me too. Yeah, 'cause we had this same conversation about Nicole, 'cause--you want to know what it is? You don't trust me, do you?
Jennifer: It's not about trust, Daniel.
Daniel: No? Go ahead. Spell it out.
Jennifer: No, you know what it's about? It's about you doing the right thing for every person in every situation. And some people just have to fend for themselves. You can't come to everyone's rescue all the time.
Daniel: Oh, okay, so I offer Chloe my apartment, and now she's walking all over me? But I don't see what's going on?
Jennifer: Oh, no, she's not walking all over you, she's walking all over me.
Daniel: Over y--do you know how insulting that sounds? Do you have any idea?
Jennifer: What? I'm not trying to insult you. I'm trying to make you see what is going on here.
Daniel: Oh, but I can't see. I'm so oblivious, I just--like every other guy, I got my head in the clouds, right?
Jennifer: No, you are just so trusting, because you just wanna believe the best about people, Daniel.
Daniel: Yeah, well, I'm sure it doesn't have anything to do with the fact that I just found out I have a son, or that I don't even know how to deal with his mother, or maybe I'm just a moron who doesn't know how to deal with women in general.
Jennifer: I didn't say that. I didn't say you were a moron!
Daniel: That's exactly what you said to me!
Jennifer: No, it's not!
Daniel: It is what you said to me. You know what? Forget this. Done.
Maggie: Let me tell you what I think happened today. You knew which buttons to push with Victor to get him to throw you out.
Chloe: Why would I do that?
Maggie: Oh, because it's too hard to keep up your agenda with Daniel, when he only gets to see you every so often. But living here with you, wow, that's a whole new ball game.
Chloe: You're giving me way too much credit. I'm really not that clever.
Maggie: Nice try.
Chloe: Maggie, I'm a single mom. I quit my job and gave up my apartment so I could bring my son together with his father. So let's just get to what you're really worried about.
Maggie: Ah, so you're a mind reader now.
Chloe: No. I'm just good at history. You're the one who walked in on us when I was married to Lucas, remember? You remember how Daniel felt about me. You're just afraid that it's gonna happen again. You're afraid that he's gonna dump your niece for me.
Maggie: Chloe, Chloe. You know what? I wouldn't unpack just now. Okay? This just may not last.
Chloe: [Clucks tongue] Oh, I don't know. I think sometimes lightning strikes twice.
Hope: What do I think? Doesn't really matter. You're here because Eric wants you here.
Nicole: And I'm causing problems for him already, right?
Hope: Did I say that?
Nicole: You don't have to, Hope. I mean, you made it very clear that I stuck my nose where it didn't belong, when I tried to set up Kristen.
Hope: Kristen gets people to do things that, uh...they might not ordinarily do.
Nicole: And Eric had to cover for me with the big shots at the diocese. But you already know that.
Hope: Eric was trying to help you, because he cares about you. And that's his--
Hope: No, I was going to say that's his concern. And none of my business.
Nicole: All right, um... okay, here. These are the permission slips for the parents to sign. Just pass them out in the classrooms when you talk to them.
Hope: Wow, first thing you've ever given me. Thanks.
Nicole: Hope, I think you'd be interested to know that I-I don't want to be Eric's concern anymore.
Hope: What does that mean?
Nicole: It means, as much as I love living here with the sisters...I'm thinking about leaving.
Hope: Okay. That's your decision.
Nicole: I know. I mean, all this piety and humility, it's really getting to me.
Hope: If you're doing it to get away from Eric, I don't see it making much of a difference.
Brady: Did you know...that I once beat the crap out of that guy and put him in intensive care?
Eric: Is that a confession?
Brady: Mm. No. Just a point of pride.
Kristen: I'm not upset. Why would I be? You're alone and miserable, and that's all I care about.
Marlena: [Chuckles] I don't think that's all you care about. Oh, you should powder your nose, sweetheart. You're sweating.
Kristen: Mm, that's just the flush of Victory, Marlena.
Marlena: Oh. Well, enjoy it while you can. John called me. We're gonna work things out. So you may have caught us at a vulnerable time, but we are stronger than you are. And Brady's gonna figure out that you're just using him. Maybe he has already. Maybe that's why you're so unsure of yourself.
Kristen: You don't know what you're talking about. As usual.
Marlena: You know, you've had it your way, ever since you came back to Salem. But that kind of dumb luck doesn't last forever. And, no...that's not the flush of Victory. It's flop sweat.
[Cell phone rings]
Marlena: Oh. You'll have to excuse me. It's my husband.
Chloe: What do you think, sweetness? Is Daddy gonna think that Mommy looks pretty? You playing with your truck? Playing with your truck? What's he doing? Digging? What are you digging for? Hi.
Daniel: Hey. Hey there, little man. Are you, uh, enjoying your new place, huh?
Chloe: Say "Yeah." You know this was your very first home, sweetheart. We brought you here when you were just a tiny baby. Do you remember that day?
Daniel: Yeah. Listen, I, um--I need to pack.
Chloe: Pack? Where are you going?
Daniel: Uh, I got a hotel room.
Chloe: What? What? Why?
Daniel: Well, you didn't think I could stay here, did you?
Chloe: There is enough room for all of us here.
Daniel: You know what? It's really--it's not about the room. It's--it's just about what's appropriate, okay?
Chloe: Yeah, but--
Daniel: Okay, Chloe, I--
[Cell phone rings]
Daniel: Hold on. Sorry. Hey, Maggie.
Maggie: Hi. Do you have a minute to talk?
Daniel: Yeah. Hey, I-I need to talk privately.
Chloe: Oh, okay. Um, hey, Parker, let's go.
Chloe: Let's take the truck in the other room. Here we go. Let's go play in here.
Daniel: Yeah, hey. Right.
Hope: Okay, so...all the kids have to do is bring these back to the teachers, and then we'll schedule the trip.
Nicole: Yeah. Uh, what do you mean, "It wouldn't make a difference if I left the convent or not"?
Hope: Well, because it won't. Nicole, what I meant was that it doesn't matter where you live. Because Eric is still gonna be invested in helping you turn things around. He's not gonna walk away from you until you're on your feet again.
Nicole: Come on, you don't know that.
Hope: Oh, yeah, I do. I know that. He's Bo's nephew. I've known him since he's a kid. And when he gets that look on his face...
Nicole: What look?
Hope: The way he looks at you... [Snaps folder] He's not giving up on you. I'll be in touch. Excuse me.
Nicole: Oh, yeah. Okay. Bye. Damn it. She's right. Doesn't matter where I move. Eric...will try to help me. And I cannot--I cannot try to get involved with another man who I can never, ever be with. Ever!
Marlena: Hi, there. Oh, my gosh you sound so close. Are you back in Salem?
John: No, I'm still in Italy.
Marlena: Oh, well. A girl can hope, I guess.
John: I'm just checking in. How are things?
Marlena: I just ran into Kristen. She seemed pretty rattled. I'm not sure what that was about.
John: But she's still with Brady?
Marlena: Uh-huh. John, what is your plan?
John: I think I'm gonna be here for a while. You okay?
Marlena: I just--I wish you were here. I wish we could talk face-to-face.
John: Listen, Doc, I got to run, I'm late for a meeting. I'm just checking in to make sure that everything was all right.
Marlena: It can't be all right unless you're home.
John: So long, Doc.
Marlena: Honey, give me a number where I can reach you on your cell phone. Joh...
Eric: Do you have time for lunch? To talk?
Brady: Uh, nope. Actually, actually, I'm pretty busy today.
Eric: I-I'll buy. Just want to thank you for not pressing charges against Nicole.
Brady: She's suffered enough. But she better not try anything else.
Eric: No, no, she won't.
Brady: Eric, um...we're you the one that got her going?
Eric: I don't know what you're talking about.
Brady: The day that we had the argument about Kristen.
Eric: You know what?
Brady: It was the very same day that Nicole came to her hotel room and told her off.
Eric: Well, I had no idea Nicole would do anything like that.
Brady: So it was you then?
Eric: And listen...please, just--let's not even go there. The closest thing I have to a brother.
Brady: And you as well, for me, but why can't you just admit that you were wrong about Kristen, please?
Eric: I can't.
Brady: Well, I'm sorry to hear that. And I'm really not gonna sit here and listen to another lecture.
Eric: Brady, please.
Brady: No. You know what, Eric? Did it ever occur to you that maybe I know...Kristen better than you do? Maybe better than this whole town does? I didn't think so.
[Door opens, shuts]
Kristen: Flop sweat. Flop sweat. I hate you, Marlena! [Grunts] I hate you, Marlena! [Grunts loudly] I was gonna cut him loose! I was gonna do the right thing! But, you see... [Panting] I started to feel sorry for you, Brady, that was my first mistake. [Sighs] I let myself forget that you're my enemy. Father always says...keep your enemies closer. I'm gonna keep you closer, all right. I'm sorry, baby. I'm gonna have to destroy you after all.
[Frame clatters on floor]
Brady: [Sighs] So, listen, I've been thinking a lot about what happened earlier.
Kristen: Yeah, me too.
Brady: And I realize that I must have thrown you...for such a loop when I just said we should move in together. But I want you to know something.
Kristen: Don't you know you had me at "hello"?
Brady: I don't think I ever said hello to you, actually...
Kristen: I know.
Brady: Come to think about it.
Kristen: I just always wanted to say that.
Kristen: You don't have to apologize to me. And certainly not for wanting to live with me.
Brady: This is not what I thought you were going to formulate.
Brady: No. Sounds to me like you're saying you might have changed your mind.
Daniel: Okay. Go ahead, I'm listening.
Maggie: Uh, I have a couple of things I want to talk to you about. Have you seen Jennifer today?
Maggie: That's all you're gonna say?
Daniel: You know what? I don't really want to talk about this on the phone. Why don't I bring Parker over to--to see you.
Maggie: Well, I'd love that.
Daniel: Okay, I'll see you in a little bit. Yep, bye. Chloe? Chloe?
Chloe: Yeah, what's up?
Daniel: You know, I just got Parker a new car seat, and I thought I'd take him out, maybe drop by and see Maggie.
Chloe: Oh, okay, great.
Daniel: Okay, I might even leave him with her, you know, while I go check into a hotel.
Chloe: All right, that-- that's cool. You know what? I have a couple things I need to do anyway.
Jennifer: Oh, Gram.
Abigail: What--what's wrong? You seem like you're upset.
Jennifer: Uh, I am. I'm upset.
Abigail: With me? It's because I butted in with Daniel, right?
Jennifer: No, baby, no. I'm upset--I'm upset with me.
Jennifer: Because I just really let Chloe get to me. And I took it out on Daniel.
Abigail: But he said he came here to make things right with you.
Jennifer: Yeah, I think he did. But I didn't even give him a chance. I just let him have it. And now I just have to figure out a way to fix this. [Sniffles]
Abigail: Well, I'll give you some time to think.
Jennifer: No, where are you going?
Abigail: Remember that dress, um, at Priscilla's?
Jennifer: Yes, I loved how that looked on you. I wanted you to let me buy that for you.
Abigail: I know, I know. I decided that, um, I want it.
Jennifer: Okay, well, why don't you do your homework, and I'll go pick that up for you.
Abigail: No, I thought you wanted time to think.
Jennifer: No, I-I'll be good. I'll be better if I'm moving.
Jennifer: And, uh, maybe by the time I get back, I'll... figure out how to undo what I did to Daniel. Bye.
Both: Love you.
Nicole: Sydney. Hi. Hi, it's Nicole. Do you remember me?
Nicole: Hi. Um, I used to be her stepmommy.
Paula: Oh, yeah, hi.
Nicole: Oh, my goodness, look at you. You're still as pretty as ever.
Paula: You know what? I'm--we're actually kind of in a hurry. She has a playdate, and then I got to get her back to see--
Nicole: Sami. Yeah, I know. Well, listen, you have fun on your playdate, okay? And can I give you a hug? Yeah? Ooh, my goodness. You be really good for your mommy, okay? I know you will be, because you are the best, most wonderful little girl in the world.
Sydney: You're squeezing me too tight.
Nicole: [Laughs] I know. I'm sorry. I just have a tendency to do that to people that I love.
Paula: All right, let's go, Syd.
Nicole: Okay, um...
Paula: Okay, bye.
Nicole: Bye, take care.
Paula: See you soon.
Kristen: I don't know what made me act the way I did. I guess I'd like to think that I'm in control of my feelings, but apparently, I'm not. I wanted to marry you, and you didn't want to marry me, and I guess my pride was hurt.
Brady: Hey. It's not about you. It's not about how I feel about you, okay?
Kristen: I know. I know it's what you said, and I-I believe that. Hey, I haven't been in love in a really long time. I kind of forgot how crazy it makes you.
Brady: Do you still love me?
Kristen: I really do.
Kristen: I really want to live with you.
Brady: I want that too.
Kristen: You do?
Brady: I do. I want it more than anything.
Kristen: Good. Let's make it happen.
Abigail: [Clears throat]
Abigail: What do you want?
Chloe: Uh, is your mother here?
Chloe: Uh, do you know where she is? We had a misunderstanding this afternoon, and I kind of wanted to clear it up, and I bet she'd like to as well.
Abigail: Hmm, yeah, well, uh, she's not here. She went to Priscilla's to pick up a dress for me.
Chloe: Wow. Priscilla's, huh? That could work.
Daniel: All right, what do you think, little man, hmm? You know what? Should we stop by and get Grandma some chocolate-covered strawberries? What do you think of that? We just got to find them, all right? 'Cause I happen to know they're her favorite. And we'll just say it was your idea. Cool? Dig that? All right, let's go find some.
Jennifer: All right. Just stop thinking, Jennifer. Just-- just take action and don't blow it this time.
EJ: You look upset. Is, um, everything okay?
Nicole: Well, I'm standing here with you, aren't I?
EJ: I'm glad that you had a chance to say hello to Sydney.
Nicole: Yeah, me too.
EJ: Well, I mean, I know that can't be very easy. She's, um, a reminder of everything that you lost.
Nicole: [Sighs] Go to hell.
EJ: Okay. Well, I'm sure that if I go there, you'll be a part of the welcoming committee.
Nicole: Shouldn't you be burning an orphanage or bilking a widow or something?
EJ: No, actually, I just came for a stroll down here. I thought I'd go and check out that new French restaurant down by the river. It's supposed to be very romantic. I thought I would take Samantha there.
Nicole: Oh, so you can set her up and poison her?
EJ: No, actually, we're back together. I...suppose you probably don't know.
Nicole: [Teen-ish] Oh, my God, no way, really?
