Kristen: Did you say that I lied about Marlena? Why would you say that?

Brady: "I know what you're doing." The note I found in the trash. You said it was from a conference call with EJ, and Marlena told me the truth about it.

Kristen: Did she tell you that she was wearing a wire? She was trying to get me to say that I was just using you.

Brady: Yes, she did.

Kristen: 'Cause she wanted to prove that what we feel for each other, that it's not real.

Brady: I got that.

Kristen: Okay, then you know. What?

Brady: You had no trouble looking me in the eye and lying to my face. Why is that?

[Cell phone ringing]

EJ: Samantha. Business or pleasure?

Sami: Well, it's definitely not business, but I don't know how fun this is gonna be either.

EJ: Yes, you haven't had nearly enough of that lately, have you?

Sami: Fun? Yeah, probably. Today's no exception.

EJ: Well, maybe we should see if we can change that.

Sami: Listen, EJ, there's something I have to take care of, and then I'd like to see you. We need to talk.

EJ: Of course.

Sami: All right, I'll text you when I'm on my way home.

EJ: Okay. I'll see you then. Rafe. How is your sister?

Rafe: Better. No thanks to your brother.

EJ: Yeah, I'll give you his announcement was a little bit ill-timed, but I do think it worked out, you know, in everybody's best interests.

Rafe: You're really gonna go with that?

EJ: Well, look, I mean, I realize it's a rite of passage really for a member of the Hernandez family to keep a father from their child, but I would have thought by now you realized it doesn't work out very well for you.

Rafe: No, unlike kidnapping and hiding babies from their real mothers, hmm? I got no time for you, EJ.

EJ: Rafe, just one more thing. Make sure you and your sister stay away from William and Samantha, or you'll be seeing a lot more of me than you would like.

[Phone line trilling]

Will: It's Will. Leave a message.

[Beep]

Sami: Hey, listen, Will, it's me. I just heard a nasty rumor from my friend who works at City Hall, and, look, we have to deal with this for your baby's sake. Call me, okay?

Nick: "Lucas Horton was sentenced to ten years in prison, charged with the attempted murder of EJ DiMera. The defendant confessed to police." Wait, so Lucas said he went to prison for Will, which means his confession was a lie for Will. He took the rap for Will. The gay boy tried to murder EJ DiMera.

Will: Nick?

Nick: What are you doing here?

Nick: What's up?

Will: Nothing. Sorry. I just--I wanted to come and say that, you know, how much I appreciate you letting me be at the sonogram the other day. That was just so great, so thank you.

Nick: Yeah. You're welcome.

Will: Yeah. What'd you think, by the way? You know, seeing her and hearing her heartbeat and feeling her kick. I mean, wasn't that--I didn't even know they could show that much, did you?

Nick: No, no, it's--it's awesome.

Will: Oh. I gotta show you something. Gabi gave it to me, and it's gonna be my new screensaver.

Nick: Oh, yeah, it's ours too.

Will: Oh. Isn't this--this is how it should be, right, you know? I mean, we all love this little girl, and we're all gonna raise her. And how awesome is it gonna be that we're, you know, we're all gonna be good to each other at the same time?

Rafe: Look at you. You're loving it, huh? Puffing up for Sami. Is that what this is?

EJ: Samantha and I are none of your business.

Rafe: Uh-huh.

EJ: But William is the father of your sister's baby. That makes Samantha the grandmother. And that gives them rights.

Rafe: What, are you arguing the case?

EJ: Me? No. No. I took the liberty of hiring the best lawyer in Salem to do that for me. Just to be ready to defend against any challenges that you, your sister, or that criminal that she's getting married to may throw in their general direction, so let's just be clear about one thing, Rafe. If you interfere with William or Samantha in any way, you'll regret it.

Rafe: Wow. So you're fighting for Sami now, huh? That's good, that's really good, 'cause, you know, she likes that. She really likes it when people treat her like she's helpless.

EJ: I don't think I need you to tell me about Samantha.

Rafe: No, no, no, of course you don't. You can read her like a book, right? You know what she's thinking.

EJ: We have a bond. We have a tie. Something you wouldn't understand.

Rafe: No.

EJ: I suppose that's probably why you lost.

Rafe: Why I... why I lost? [Laughs] Is that what you think? I threw in the towel, you moron. Which is really the only reason that you have a chance with her now. We were together. Yeah, I mean, we decided. She was gonna tell you, but then, well, we decided it would be better to wait till after the wedding. But make no mistake, my friend, you were out.

Sami: I know what you and Nick are trying to pull. And you can forget about it. 'Cause it's not gonna work.

Brady: You didn't blink. I mean, you didn't--you didn't miss a step. That story about work just rolled off your tongue like it was nothing. You don't even have a tell. Kristen, you're very good.

Kristen: Well, that's how it is with us psychopaths, Brady. You know, we just lie to everybody all the time. I mean, ask your family. They'll tell you.

Brady: Hey, I'm not playing with you.

Kristen: Who said I'm playing?

Brady: I defended you to Nicole today. I actually ended a very close, long-standing relationship with Nicole today. Because I was on your side and I knew that you would never steal Titan's secrets.

Kristen: And I didn't because I couldn't have, as those time stamps on the documents prove. And, of course, common sense. Now you're not so sure.

Abigail: Thank you. Oh, I ordered a latte.

Sonny: Oh, sorry.

Abigail: It's fine. I'll just keep it. You are miserable.

Sonny: I made a mistake. It's not that big a deal.

Abigail: Yeah, you're right. Mistakes happen.

Sonny: No, not even close to the same thing, Abigail.

Abigail: Okay, okay, Sonny. I know. I know that Will's mistake was way bigger, and I'm not even trying to say that it's the same thing at all. But big or small, it was a mistake that he made because he was trying to do the right thing... for everybody, including you. I know you still love him. You still want to be with him, right?

Sonny: That's two different things.

Abigail: Can't you at least try to give him another chance?

Cameron: You're looking at her like a stalker, man.

Chad: Really? Well, now that's one crime I've never been accused of.

Cameron: Well, if you'd like to keep it that way, let it go.

Chad: I have. But I know I blew my chance with Abigail, so...

Cameron: Are you surprised?

Chad: No, no, actually, Abigail thinks I used her to destroy the wedding, and that's just not how it went down. Okay, but a hell of a lot happened as I stood up, and that was not my intention. Okay? And as bad as I feel about me and Abigail, the worst thing is, is that, well, I destroyed Sonny and Will's relationship, so...

Abigail: Look, I know that he lied, and that was wrong.

Sonny: Yeah.

Abigail: But did you ever think that maybe the way you're acting now proves that he was right to keep it a secret?

Will: Thank you so much again. You know, this is all gonna work out. There's no reason why it can't be easy for all of us, you know? Admittedly, my family's not a great example, but there are, you know, plenty of families that share kids, and those children are happy, and they're healthy, and they're loved, and that's gonna be us, you know. Okay.

Both: Okay.

Will: See ya. See ya.

Nick: See ya. Yeah. See ya later, Will.

Will: All right. Should I close this or--

Nick: Yeah. That'd be great. Thanks.

Gabi: What are you talking about?

Sami: Your quickie wedding. The appointment you and Nick had with the judge at City Hall.

Gabi: How'd you even find out about that?

Sami: Doesn't matter. What matters is this is your first move.

Gabi: What first move?

Sami: Your first move trying to get to full custody. And if you think getting married is going to help, you can think again. You are marrying a convicted murderer. He is on parole.

Gabi: Sami, you didn't care about that when you were planning our wedding, okay?

Sami: You're right. There are whole lot of things you kept from me back then, aren't there? Like the fact that you and Nick were trying to keep my son's child from him.

Gabi: I can't do this again. I can't.

Sami: You brought this on yourself, Gabi, by lying to everyone.

Gabi: Nick and I postponed the wedding, okay? Not that it's any of your business, but we did. And no one's trying to take Will's baby away from him. No one. It's always been his choice, and it's always gonna be his choice. He's gonna be in his baby's life. He even went to the sonogram with me today.

Sami: He did?

Gabi: Yes, he did. You say you're here to help Will, but you don't even know what's going on with him. You know, why don't you talk to him before you charge in here and assume that he's being wronged somehow?

Sami: How was the sonogram? Is the baby okay?

Gabi: Yeah, she's perfect. We even felt her kick.

Sami: It's a girl? Well, we have lots of plans to make, so we can do some schedules for the hospital leading up to the birth.

Gabi: No, no, no, no. You're--no, you're not gonna be a part of this, Sami. Okay, and, you know what, if you want to be a part of this baby's life at all, you can't just come in here and attack me for no reason.

Sami: Are you threatening me? Because if you think for a second you are gonna keep me out of my grandchild's life, you have another thing coming.

Nick: Hey. What the hell's going on?

EJ: So Samantha didn't meet your high standards. Otherwise, you'd be together right now. That's your story?

Rafe: Yeah, yeah, that's pretty much how it is. Or was. Well, you can ask anyone. We were together. Don't worry about it. I mean, you guys obviously have this great, mysterious bond, so I'm sure she'll tell you all about it.

Gabi: It's--it's nothing, Nick. Sami and I just had a misunderstanding.

Sami: Oh, I think you were quite clear. You were threatening to take my granddaughter from me, and I'm not gonna stand for it.

Nick: Okay, Sami, if you care about this baby at all, then you need to leave her mother alone. All right, the stress and the drama is bad for Gabi, so, please, just go, okay?

Sami: I didn't mean to upset you. I didn't. Just trying to help. But you know what it seems like? It seems like what I would be best at doing right now is shopping. You could use some help with that, and Will's daughter deserves the best.

[Door slams]

Nick: It's okay.

Sonny: Are you trying to start a fight with me?

Abigail: If it'll get you out of your own way, sure.

Sonny: You're lucky you're my cousin.

Abigail: You could still throw something.

Sonny: I just need some room to deal with what he did and see how I feel.

Abigail: So you're saying it's not 100% over. Just--you still love Will. Admit it. Just say it.

Sonny: Okay, I love Will. If I didn't, this would be easy. But can I live with what he did? Like, I don't know if I can trust him anymore.

Abigail: Sonny.

EJ: Chad. Tell me about the wedding.

Chad: Can we talk about the weather or politics, anything but--come on.

EJ: You can spare me all the gory details of the main event. Tell me about Samantha and Rafe.

Chad: What about them?

EJ: Were they together?

Chad: I wasn't really paying attention, so I don't--

EJ: Yes, but you must have noticed something.

Chad: Okay. Maybe. Mostly people talking about them. Like they were happy or maybe there will be another wedding soon. I don't know.

EJ: That's jumping the gun a little bit, don't you think?

Chad: Okay. Probably. You know what, people probably just saw Sami and Rafe at the wedding and just, you know, they jumped to conclusions about it.

EJ: Yeah. No.

Chad: It'll be all right.

EJ: I'm sure that's probably it.

Chad: But you and Sami, what's going on with that?

EJ: A word to the wise, Chad. Don't ever be a woman's second choice.

Kristen: You don't know what I have sat still and taken for you. So, if you're not gonna trust me, I mean, if you're not even gonna listen to my side of the story, there's the door.

Brady: Just tell me what happened with Marlena, please.

Kristen: Are you sure? You sure you really want to hear it? 'Cause you're not gonna like it.

Brady: After everything we've been through, I deserve it. Yeah.

Kristen: You do. Okay. I'm gonna tell you about Marlena and everything. So Marlena came here, she said that she wanted to clear the air, give me a chance to gloat, 'cause she and John are, you know, going through so much right now. And that was the very first clue, because I knew she would never do something like that. So I knew something was up. She continued to goad me into saying that I was just using you to get to her and John. I told her she was wrong. Told her that I care about you and that I was really sorry that they couldn't accept our relationship. And that's when I saw it. There was this pin, and it was the ugliest pin you've ever seen. You wouldn't want your grandma to wear it. And I knew she was wearing a wire. At that moment, I admit it, I didn't play nice, Brady, I didn't, okay? She made me so mad. So I held up the stupid note that said, "I know what you're doing." And with whatever she played for you, however horrible it was, then she must have edited the hell out of it because I told her the truth.

Brady: Marlena didn't play the tape for me.

Kristen: Well, then what are the lies that you're so upset about?

Brady: You looked me dead in the eye and lied.

Kristen: Yeah, I was protecting Marlena. Is that really so hard to believe?

Brady: Given the way she's treated you? Yeah, Kristen. It is.

Chad: Please, what can I do to make this better between us?

Abigail: Nobody owes you that. You want to make things better, make yourself a better person. I gotta go.

Brian: Hey.

Sonny: Hey, Brian. You've obviously heard. This is "I told you so"?

Brian: No.

Sonny: Well, you did say Will had a lot of baggage.

Brian: I just had no idea that included a diaper bag.

[Laughter]

Nick: Hey, you want some bread or something so you don't get queasy?

Gabi: No, I'll be lucky if I can get the vitamins down.

Nick: Hey.

Gabi: I'm not kidding, Nick. I mean, every time that Sami comes around, I feel like my throat's, like, closing.

Nick: Well, I gotta be honest with you, I think we probably need some space from Will.

Gabi: No, no, he's great. It's--it's his mom that's a huge problem.

Nick: I know.

Rafe: Ooh. Hey, hey.

Nick: Hey.

Rafe: How's it going, kids? Listen, in lieu of you two not tying the knot, I was thinking I could take you out to dinner, huh? Somewhere nice? What? What's wrong?

Gabi: Nothing.

Nick: Sami.

[Knock at door]

EJ: I'm here.

Sami: Thank you. I mean, you've been so good to me the last couple days, I...

EJ: Is that all?

Sami: No. Not hardly. You've been great for a long time now, and that is--that's why there's something I have to tell you.

Kristen: You're right. It is hard to believe. But I didn't want to add to things. I mean, John and Marlena are going through a rough time as it is. And I wanted to protect you.

Brady: I don't need that.

Kristen: Look, I see it. I see what it's doing to you to have your entire family lining up against us. If I told you that Marlena had done yet another horrible and vicious thing, who could it possibly help?

Brady: You.

Kristen: I can handle Marlena. I can handle John, Sami, Eric, and everybody else, but what I can't handle... I cannot handle you looking at me the way that they do.

Brady: I didn't mean--

Kristen: Yes, you did. You did. You meant every word of it, and if that's honestly how you feel, then I want you to go.

Brady: No, Kristen, look, I'm sorry.

Kristen: You know what, I told you from the very beginning, Brady, that it was gonna be you and me against the whole world. Man, if you don't have me back, then I just want you to go, 'cause I'd rather be alone.

Brady: Listen. Listen.

Kristen: No, Brady, I mean it.

Brady: Listen to me, listen to me. You don't want to be alone...

Kristen: You don't know--

Brady: Any more than I want to be alone. Yes, I do. I know what you want, because I want the same thing. And I know whose side I'm on. And so do you.

Kristen: I do.

Abigail: Hey.

Cameron: Uh, hi.

Abigail: Hi. I saw you at the coffeehouse. You didn't even say hello.

Cameron: Oh, you were talking to Chad, so...

Abigail: He was just trying to make amends, and I'm trying not to be a total jerk about it myself, which is not easy, since what he did is so over the top.

Cameron: Yeah, I know. I know Lexie would want me to give him another chance as well.

Abigail: It sounds kind of nice, doesn't it?

Cameron: Are we talking about Chad?

Abigail: Second chances. I know how Chad feels to have done something so stupid and irrational that you can't even explain how you were so careless with someone else's feelings. Yeah, of course you want another chance.

Chad: Hey, Will.

Will: Hey. Hey.

Chad: Hey, whoa, hold on. Hold on, wait. Just--just give me, like, two minutes, please?

Gabi: Dinner another time?

Rafe: Okay. Sure.

Gabi: Okay. Okay.

Rafe: Get some rest.

Gabi: Oh, I forgot to tell you, it's a girl.

Rafe: I know. I know. Yup. Will told me.

Gabi: He's excited. See ya.

Rafe: How bad was it?

Nick: It was pretty damn bad, man. I mean, you know, why Gabi's ducking dinner is she can't eat.

Rafe: Not good.

Nick: I know. She was calming down, she was finally getting her appetite back, and now...

Rafe: What the hell is wrong with Sami?

Nick: This time, who even knows? I mean, you guys were so glad that the truth came out and everything, but this is reason number one we didn't want Will and his family involved. I mean, Sami's gonna make Gabi's life a living hell now.

Sami: Um... I guess I should start with last fall... when I told you that I had to stop bouncing back and forth between you and Rafe. Only I didn't stop. I kept bouncing towards Rafe. And that's the truth. I kept trying with him. Even up to New Year's Eve. You took me on this really wonderful, romantic date, and-- and I still ended up kissing him at midnight. And after that he asked me if we could try again... and I said yes. And he told me that I had to tell you. And I agreed. But I could never do it. And I said it was 'cause I didn't want to hurt you and I didn't want to get all upset before the wedding. Blah, blah, blah, but it just... I think now I was--I was being selfish. I think there was some smart part of me that was trying to save me. The wedding was a complete disaster. But I saw Rafe. I saw who he really is. And now I think about how I kept trying to make it work with him and ask why. I mean, was I really that desperate for my family's approval? Was I that sure he was the good guy, the right choice? I'm sorry. I know this is taking too long and you don't need to sit here and listen to me talk about Rafe. What I want to say... is there's another reason I didn't tell you about Rafe. It's because I knew... that if I told you... I would be throwing away you. EJ, I have been such a coward. I have been so afraid... of how you make me feel. But this is right. It feels right. And I think losing you would be the biggest mistake of my whole life. And I deserve it. I mean, I totally get that I deserve to lose you. But since when has that ever stopped me from asking for what I want? I want you. Am I too late? Do we still have a chance?

Brady: It's just--just you and me.

Kristen: The rest of the world can go to hell. It always does.

Abigail: You were really working Sonny over about Will.

Abigail: They love each other.

Cameron: They did seem happy together.

Abigail: And they could be again.

[Pager beeping]

Cameron: I have to make rounds, so... I'll see ya.

Abigail: Wait. I know that you're busy, but, if you have time, I'd like to see you, even if it's just to talk about what happened between us.

Cameron: I'd like that. I'd like that a lot.

Abigail: Okay.

Sonny: I haven't seen you around in a while.

Brian: I lead a quiet, monastic life.

Sonny: That's so you.

Brian: Seriously. You turned me down, my world was shattered, and I started contemplating the emptiness of existence.

Sonny: Yeah, I have that effect on people. So what'd you come up with? Right. You contemplated.

Brian: I did. And I realized that if existence is empty, the least we should get is a good cup of Italian espresso along the way.

Chad: If I'd known you were involved in this thing with Gabi, I would have taken it to my grave.

Will: Well, what--what you did and how you did it kind of sucked, but, you know, at least I got this now. It's a girl. You can't tell, but...

Chad: Wow.

Will: Mm-hmm.

Chad: You're gonna be an awesome dad.

Will: Thanks.

Chad: Seriously.

Will: I'll try. Yeah.

Chad: Have you--have you talked to Sonny today?

Will: No.

Chad: I mean--I mean, you probably should. I overheard him at the coffeehouse, and he's just been talking nonstop about how much he loves you. So you should--

Will: Okay, shouldn't you be out of the eavesdropping business?

Chad: I know, right? That's always when you hear the truth, though. So good luck with that, Will. All right?

Will: Okay.

Rafe: Hey, things are gonna calm down with Sami.

Nick: Yeah?

Rafe: Mm-hmm.

Nick: What makes you think so? And since when has Sami ever backed down when she gets something like this in her head?

Rafe: Sami's not gonna be a problem, all right? I'll take care of it.

Nick: Do you need any help?

Rafe: No. You just take care of my sister, all right?

Nick: All right.

Rafe: Come on.

Sami: I'm sorry. I'm sorry. That wasn't a fair question. You have deserved better from me all along. There has been something between us... from day one. We danced around it, always letting something or someone get in the way. But no matter what we said, no matter what we did, no matter how angry I got... it always comes back to you. There is something in me that just can't stay away from you. And I'm tired of fighting it. You have been patient with me. More or less. So now it's my turn. You can tell me off. You can tell me to go to hell. But I'm not giving up. I'm not going anywhere. I am putting you on notice, EJ. I'm willing to do what I have to for as long as it takes till I get you to come around, because I believe we belong together.

Sonny: That's gonna keep you up all night.

Brian: I think I can live with that. I mean, decaf espresso? Why?

Sonny: I don't know.

Brian: What's the point of it? If you want something, just do it. Go big or go home, right?

Sonny: Right.

Brian: It's really good to hear you laugh.

Sonny: I know. It feels like forever since I have.

Brian: It shouldn't be like that. Not for you.

Nick: [Sighs]

Sami: EJ, you--you have to say something.

EJ: As usual, you... you said everything. You may have patience for me, but I'm at the end of my patience with you.

Sami: And that's totally understandable, so, if you just give me a chance, if you just let me explain--

[Knocking at door]

Rafe: Sami!

[Knocking at door continues]

Rafe: Sami, open the door.

[Knocking at door continues]
