Episode #11987 ~ Sami Wonders Why Rafe Is Withdrawn; Will Spends Christmas Eve With Sonny's Family
Provided By Suzanne
Doug: Merry Christmas.
Julie: Merry Christmas to you. Merry Christmas, darling.
Doug: Another year. Another year.
Julie: The season for making whoopee.
Nicole: Oh, God.
Brady: Whoa, hold on.
Nicole: Nice save. Look at that.
Brady: That was--that was close.
Nicole: Seriously, I think I killed the plant.
Brady: No, no, no, it's alive.
Nicole: Well, you have saved Christmas mass. Hey, merry Christmas by the way.
Brady: Merry Christmas to you too. Merry Christmas.
Maggie: Okay, well... [Chuckles] Oh.
Victor: Do I smell gingerbread?
Maggie: Yes, yes, and you are not going to have a cookie until we get to Jennifer's house. Because we don't have a single one to spare.
Maggie: Hmm, hmm, hmm. So, if you're looking for something sweet, you can have--
Victor: I know.
Maggie: What? Mm.
Daniel: I'm sorry. Sorry. I didn't mean to startle you. Sorry.
Abigail: No, that's okay. I needed to talk to you.
Daniel: Uh, okay. Yeah, shoot.
Abigail: It's about my mom.
Julie: Well, I thought we were gonna have to hitch a ride with Rudolph when our flight was cancelled.
Doug: And you think she's joking.
Both: Merry Christmas.
Jennifer: Look who's here.
Nick: Hi. Merry Christmas, aunt Julie. Or not.
Marlena: Merry Christmas, darling.
Eric: Hey, is that for the toy drive? 'Cause the collection box is--
Roman: No, actually we gave to the toy drive. This is for you.
Marlena: Come on, come on, come on, open it up.
Eric: Come on.
Hope: Bo, I'll be down in a minute. Okay, sweetie, I know that you're tired, but we have to wrap daddy's present.
Ciara: He's going to love it.
Hope: You know what, I think so too. Ciara, what's wrong?
Ciara: Mommy, I didn't know what to get you this year.
Hope: Oh, baby, don't worry about that. Are you kidding me? I'm spending the holidays with my family. Being with you and daddy, Shawn-Douglas, belle, and Claire, it's the best gift I could ever hope for. Come here. Oh.
Justin: Merry, merry.
Adrienne: Merry, merry, baby.
Justin: I'm glad you could get away to help us trim the tree.
Sonny: Well, that's one of the many perks of being the boss.
Adrienne: Did you ask will to join us?
Sonny: I did, but I haven't-- oh, here he is.
Will: Hi, Mr. And Mrs. Kiriakis.
Adrienne: Oh, no, no, Justin and Adrienne, please, please.
John: So, will, are you ready to try some kourabiedes?
Adrienne: Oh, they're these really...
Will: Yeah, they're the best cookies in the world. Totally. Don't tell my grandmother I said so, though.
Adrienne: See, you're practically part of the family already.
Johnny: Merry Christmas.
Rafe: Oh, merry Christmas.
Sami: Hey. You're welcome to stay and help them decorate if you want. We'd love to have you.
Rafe: Thanks, but I got plans.
Sami: [Silently] Okay.
Rafe: I just brought this gift by. For Sydney.
Sami: Is this what I think it is? You found it? Of course you did. She is gonna flip out. Thank you.
Sami: Is everything all right?
Rafe: You are gonna make a little girl named Sydney very happy, my friend. Very happy.
Nick: Look, aunt Julie, I guess you heard about me and Gabi.
Julie: Of course I did. I admire you for wanting to do the right thing, but I have to ask, after everything you have been through, do you really think you're ready for this kind of commitment?
Doug: So how you doing, kiddo?
Jennifer: Hmm? Oh, I'm so good. I don't miss that old appendix at all.
Doug: I meant...
Jennifer: I know. You meant, how am I doing really?
Jennifer: I am thankful to have so much love around me today. But I miss--I miss JJ. I wish he was here.
Doug: When we saw him in London, he told me to give you this.
Jennifer: Thank you. I am so glad you're here. We are blessed, aren't we? We have an amazing family and some wonderful friends.
Daniel: Is--is she all right?
Abigail: Yeah. Yeah, she's fine. She's better than fine.
Daniel: Good, 'cause, I mean, you seemed pretty serious.
Abigail: No, Daniel, I just wanted to say that I know I've been hard on you in the past, but, if you make my mom happy, then that's all that matters to me.
Daniel: I won't let you down, Abigail.
Abigail: Good. You better not.
Daniel: No? What are you gonna do to me?
Abigail: I don't know. I've been working out, holding all these cookies.
Daniel: Yeah, I'll bet you have. All right.
Abigail: Thank you.
Daniel: Take care. It's a cute hat there.
Rafe: Yeah, everything's fine. It's good.
Sami: Okay, looks like you two have plans. Where are you off to?
Gabi: Oh, we're gonna take tamales to the Hortons. Well, we need to go, because, if we don't leave, we're gonna be late.
Rafe: All right.
Sami: Um, so will I see you at mass tonight?
EJ: You're thinking about John.
Kristen: No, I'm not.
EJ: Yes, you are.
Kristen: No, I'm not.
EJ: Yes, you are.
Kristen: No, I'm not, but we're bound to run into the entire clan tonight at midnight mass.
EJ: It's okay. You don't have to worry. I will remind Marlena that the demon-possessed should probably not cast the first stone.
Kristen: Thank you. But I don't give a damn what Marlena thinks about me. And I think I've finally come up with a way to convince John that I am not a threat to his family. I think.
EJ: Would you mind if I ask you how you're going to do that?
Kristen: Not at all. I decided to get into bed with Brady.
Eric: I don't know what to say.
Roman: Well, I wanted to get you a flat screen TV, but your mom thought you might be able to use these more.
Eric: I'm gonna wear this for Christmas mass.
Marlena: Gosh, I remember the Christmas you got your first camera. You were so thrilled.
Eric: Yeah, I thought I'd spend the rest of my life looking through a lens, standing on the sideline.
Roman: Now you're on the front lines.
Eric: Am I ever.
Marlena: We're so proud of you. So proud of the man that you've become.
Nick: Look, I love Gabi like crazy. I'm so excited to be her husband, to be a father. It's like my whole life has meaning again.
Julie: Well, seeing that look on your face, I won't need any more convincing. I am very glad, darling, that you're so happy. I mean it.
Lucas: Go on.
Jennifer: Hey. Hi.
Allie: Merry Christmas.
Jennifer: Merry Christmas.
Allie: Where are the presents?
Lucas: It's not only about the presents. Sorry about that.
Jennifer: No, it's okay.
Lucas: Hope you don't mind we came.
Jennifer: No, of course not. I wanted you to come.
Lucas: Well, merry Christmas.
Jennifer: Merry Christmas.
Lucas: And I really do--I wish you every happiness in the new year, I mean that.
Jennifer: Thank you. Back at you.
Justin: Merry Christmas.
Adrienne: Did we come at a bad time?
Maggie: No. No. Your timing's perfect. We were just about to break out the egg nog.
Sonny: Really wish my brothers could have made it this year, but they had to work.
Will: Oh, well, there's always next year.
Sonny: That's true.
Maggie: Uh, excuse me.
Adrienne: And I was sure that those two were so wrong for each other.
Justin: Mm-hmm. I remember certain people said the same thing about us.
Daniel: You are gonna join us at the Hortons later, right?
Daniel: No, no, no, not tonight, no.
Victor: Why not?
Justin: What are you two murmuring about over there? You--you didn't spoil uncle Vic's surprise, did you?
Victor: What surprise? You got me a present?
Justin: Well, actually it's from me and Daniel and Bo and Brady.
Victor: Well, aren't I special?
Daniel: Yes, you are. So when are we gonna do this great unveiling here?
Justin: I don't know. Brady's bringing the gift.
Victor: Well, where's Brady?
Brady: So what are your plans for Christmas?
Nicole: I am working.
Nicole: It's--it's not really that bad. You know, it's gonna take my mind off of everything. Could you do me a favor, though? Would you give Sydney a kiss for me if you see her?
Brady: I'll do that for you.
Nicole: Um, who are you?
EJ: This is Kristen DiMera. Nicole walker.
Nicole: Yes, I should have known.
Kristen: I've heard lots about you.
Kristen: Well, anyway, I hate to bring up business today, Brady, but I have a business proposal that DiMera enterprises wants to give to titan. And time is of the essence.
Brady: Sure. I have some family plans, but I could meet you back here in a few hours.
Kristen: Oh, okay. Yeah, why don't you just text me when you're free?
Brady: I'll do that. All right. Merry Christmas.
Nicole: Merry Christmas.
EJ: Shall we?
Nicole: EJ, wait, I need to talk to you. Please?
Rafe: Gabi and I decided to go to church of the holy cross tonight.
Rafe: To see some old friends.
Sami: Got you. You don't have to explain. Um, maybe tomorrow?
Rafe: I actually took an extra shift. Figured I'd let some of the people I work with spend time with their families over the holidays, you know.
Sami: Okay. Well, I mean, you got Sydney that great, perfect gift, so I thought you'd want to see her open it. She's up at the crack of dawn. If you want to swing by early, you can.
Rafe: Yeah. I can't. It's just...
Sami: Okay. Well, thank you again for everything.
Rafe: Sure. Gabi. About ready to go?
Johnny: Feliz Navidad.
Rafe: [Speaks Spanish]
Gabi: [Speaks Spanish]
Rafe: Hey, listen. By the way, I know that you've been a good little boy and you a good girl as well, and I know Santa's gonna bring you everything you want, okay?
Rafe: Sound good?
Rafe: Okay. Ready to go?
Sami: Don't forget this.
Rafe: Yeah. That goes for you too.
Victor: [Speaks Greek]
Brady: Merry Christmas. Sorry I am late.
Maggie: From our special stash.
Brady: Why, thank you very much.
Maggie: You're welcome.
Brady: Granddad. Open it up.
Victor: How did you get this?
Justin: It was all Bo's idea.
Maggie: What is it?
Victor: It's the deed to the first boat my grandfather ever owned. He lost it in a poker game.
Victor: I swear, he built his whole fortune to get it back. By then it was too late, though.
Justin: Bo tracked it down. Merry Christmas, uncle vic.
Victor: I don't know how I can ever thank you.
Daniel: You already have.
Victor: I have to call Bo and hope. Excuse me.
Daniel: Well done. Well done. Come on.
Brady: Not bad. Cheers.
Adrienne: Well done. Well done.
Nicole: I know it's a lot to ask, but I was just wondering if you could wish Johnny and Sydney a merry Christmas for me. It would mean everything.
EJ: I thought you already sent a gift by way of Chad.
Nicole: Come on, EJ. They're the only kids I've ever had, the only kids I ever will have. I just want them... I just want them to know that mommy Nicole is thinking about them.
Julie: Ooh, the cookies look beautiful.
Abigail: I slaved in the kitchen.
Gabi: Hi. Hope you guys like tamales, 'cause we brought, like, for an army.
Nick: Everybody likes tamales.
Julie: Sure, we've got an army right here. Gabi, I want to say congratulations. Congratulations to both you and Nick. We're very happy for you.
Gabi: Thank you for saying that.
Julie: No, no. I'm not just saying it. I really mean it.
Lucas: I'll be taking these.
Julie: Not all of them.
Lucas: Well, I'll just have a couple. I'll save you some.
Julie: Where's Sami?
Rafe: Hmm? Sami and I are not together anymore.
Julie: Sorry. I'm sorry.
Rafe: No, no, no.
Julie: I just thought...
Rafe: No, it's okay.
Caroline: [Chuckles] Merry Christmas, Bo. Or should I say Santa. Okay, buh-bye. Bye, dear.
Sami: Can I have the red when you're done?
Sami: Oh. Look.
EJ: Hello. Hi.
Johnny: Look what we made.
Kristen: Mm, cute, cute, cute. Very beautiful.
EJ: Wow. These look good enough to eat.
Kristen: So anyway I have to go, sorry. I have a meeting.
Kristen: Yeah, I know, no rest for the whatever. Have a great Christmas.
Caroline: Merry Christmas.
Kayla: Hey, wait, wait, wait. We have one more participant.
Sydney: Daddy, come with me.
Sami: Oh, sweetheart, remember, we agreed it was gonna be a surprise. But, you know what, if you want to show daddy right now, you can show him what you made him.
Caroline: You know, you could never keep a secret when you were that age.
EJ: Caroline, she still can't. Come on.
Sami: All right. Go with daddy. There you go.
Kayla: Is EJ staying?
Brady: I'm actually late for a business meeting. It helps me to stay busy these days.
Daniel: No, no, no, no, I-- yeah, I hear you. Yup.
Brady: Hey, I heard you saved Jen's life up at the Horton cabin. Really?
Daniel: In many ways, I got to tell you, she saved mine. Yeah.
Brady: I thought you'd be going over to the Hortons later with the others.
Daniel: No, no, you know, I'm just gonna catch up with Justin and Adrienne, so, yeah.
Brady: Okay. All right, man, well, I'll see you at mass.
Daniel: You will. All right, man.
Brady: Happy holidays.
Daniel: You too, buddy.
Daniel: Yeah. No, no, no, I'll see her soon enough. Yeah.
Jennifer: Oh. Hey. Merry Christmas.
Victor: Merry Christmas.
Jennifer: I'm so glad you came. Merry Christmas, guys. How are you? I'm so glad you guys came. There's so much food in there. Please eat, eat.
Maggie: Oh, yes, and more to add to it.
Sonny: Ooh, cookies.
Will: Good, great.
Sonny: Thank you.
Jennifer: The cookies are amazing in there too.
Maggie: How are you? You all right?
Jennifer: Yeah. I'm good. I was--I was just deciding whether to text someone or not.
Maggie: Oh, well, whether you do or not, I can guarantee you a certain someone is thinking of you. [Chuckles]
Lucas: Hey, Sonny. I'm really glad you decided to join us.
Sonny: Well, thank you. Yeah, me too.
Lucas: Well, have a good time.
Rafe: So how is the wedding prep coming?
Nick: Oh, it's--it's okay.
Rafe: Yeah? Father Eric being supportive of the situation?
Nick: Yeah, yeah, he's been great.
Rafe: That's good.
Rafe: That's good. 'Cause you need that support.
Rafe: I don't mean to be a downer, but marriage is, you know, it's not easy. And then of course, I don't need to remind you, but adding a baby to the situation kind of complicates things, you know.
Nick: Yeah. You and I are the ones who are getting married, right? You and I are the ones who are raising this baby together. Who is going to look at all of that and figure out that the biological father of the baby is actually some gay boy. Yeah.
Gabi: Merry Christmas, Sonny. It's nice to see you.
Sonny: Excuse me.
Brady: Drinking on the job?
Kristen: Yeah. I'm ready to get down to business. And you?
Brady: I'm ready.
Eric: Hey. It's looking good.
Nicole: Thank you.
Eric: You know, there's been a little bit of a Christmas miracle.
Nicole: Oh, yeah? Sister Margaret's finally gonna stop sending me out for decorations?
Eric: Well, not that much of a miracle, but I finally got a good night's sleep.
Nicole: That's great.
Eric: Yeah, and I think it's thanks to our... Nicole, what's wrong?
Nicole: I asked EJ to tell the kids merry Christmas for me. But apparently that was too much to ask.
Eric: Come to Christmas mass. You'd be doing me a huge favor. If the homily wavers off track, you can kind of give me a subtle, subtle signal.
Nicole: Forget it, Eric. I'm hopeless.
Eric: Nicole, you're not hopeless.
Nicole: You know, I used to believe in miracles. When I fell in love with EJ and when I got pregnant and I got past my first trimester and my second. Now I realize that miracles are made for other people.
Eric: You know, when I was down in the Congo... I found myself asking every day, "where's God? Why is he letting such terrible things happen?"
Eric: People do terrible things. God doesn't want us to suffer.
Eric: You know, in the middle of despair every day, I would wake to the sound of children laughing. There's still joy. Such joy. You just got to look for it, 'cause God is with us.
Nicole: Great. But, if you don't mind, I'm gonna go pray to my own God of choice named tanqueray double martini, and a yule log on channel 11 is about as merry as I'm gonna get this Christmas.
Eric: Nicole, listen.
Kristen: Merry Christmas.
Brady: What is this?
Kristen: Open it. I hope you like it.
Brady: Are you kidding? This is a Caldwell limited edition, and I've been looking for this for... how did you know?
Kristen: Ooh, this should come in very handy. I didn't. I'm telling you.
Brady: Come on.
Kristen: I saw this, and I said to myself, "this is so Brady." And I had to get it for you.
Brady: Are you serious right now?
Kristen: Yeah. This is incredibly amazing. I had no idea that you were a Caldwell fan, none.
Brady: I'm gonna be really happy when the day comes where I can just take you in my arms and tell this whole world how happy you make me. This is crazy, but I feel like we were meant to be.
Abigail: Okay, I think it's time.
Maggie: Oh, gives me the chills. So many memories.
Gabi: Wow, they're just so beautiful.
Jennifer: Hope is usually in charge of this, and I feel bad 'cause she's not here.
Hope: Oh, yes, I am.
Will: You got one?
Sonny: I don't.
Lucas: Here you go.
Julie: The wonders of modern technology.
Maggie: Hi, honey.
Hope: Bo and Ciara are sleeping. I set my alarm clock. I told myself a few years ago I would never, ever miss another Horton family Christmas. I may be halfway around the globe, but I wasn't about to miss this one. Merry Christmas, everyone.
All: Merry Christmas.
["The First Noel" plays]
Brady: I feel terrible.
Kristen: You do?
Brady: I didn't get you anything.
Kristen: I'm just kidding. It's okay. It's not a big deal.
Brady: No, it's a big deal. And I have to go meet my family for mass, but I was--I was hoping that we could spend tonight together.
Kristen: Are you sure Santa's not expecting you to wake up in your own bed on Christmas morning?
Brady: Santa's already given me everything I want. By the way, don't worry. I saw Daniel earlier, and I know that Jennifer didn't say a word to him about us.
Kristen: Thank God.
Brady: I'm hoping we can tell the world soon. I really think it's gonna be a good new year.
Kristen: So do I.
Brady: So I'll see you soon?
Kristen: Yeah. You better.
Kristen: Don't worry, Brady. You're helping Santa give me the one present that I really want. Revenge.
[Cell phone ringing]
Sydney: Mommy Nicole, I love my doll.
EJ: Is there anything else you want to say, Syd?
Sydney: Merry Christmas. I love you.
Nicole: I love you too, Sydney. Oh, God. Thank you. Thank you so much.
Maggie: Are you all right?
Jennifer: Yeah, I'm okay.
Maggie: If you're too tired to go to mass, everyone will understand.
Jennifer: No. I'll be there.
Maggie: You're welcome to ride with me and victor.
Jennifer: Thanks. I'm good. I think I just need a minute.
Maggie: Sure. I'll see you soon.
Jennifer: Okay, Maggie. I love you.
Maggie: I love you.
[Cell phone rings]
Jennifer: Thank you for taking such good care of me.
Hope: Honey, honey, honey. What are you...
Ciara: I'm sure Santa's already here. I heard him.
Hope: Honey, I think what you heard was your daddy snoring. Oh, daddy must have gone for water. And if you don't get back--hey, and if you don't get back to bed, I bet Santa won't come at all. Okay, you want me to read you a bed-- all right, come on, snuggle in before daddy gets back. And I'll read to you--okay, get under the covers. All right. I can't believe you're up. Okay, come here. Snuggle in, doll. Okay. "And the angel of the lord appeared to them. The glory of the lord shone around them, and they were filled with fear. And the angel said to them, 'fear not, for, behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a savior... who is Christ the lord.'"
["Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" plays]
All: Hark! The herald angels sing glory to the newborn king peace on earth and mercy mild God and sinners reconciled joyful, all ye nations rise join the triumph of the skies with angelic host proclaim Christ is born in Bethlehem hark! The herald angels sing glory to the new... born king
