Episode #11984 ~ Jennifer Agrees to Keep Brady's Secret; Lucas Gives Will Relationship Advice

Provided By Suzanne

Kristen: Wait a minute. You said you had a meeting...

Brady: I did.

Kristen: Didn't you? [Laughs] You're so--

Jennifer: Maybe I should've called first.

Lucas: Jennifer, it's me. You know you screwed up when victor tells you off, so I'm sorry, okay? I'm sorry for what I said. I'm sorry that I ruined your Christmas, and I wanna make it up to you, so just call me back, okay? I'm sorry.

Will: Hey, that didn't look like a fun phone call.

Lucas: Families.

Will: Yep, tell me about it.

Lucas: Speaking of family, you're coming to Jennifer's for Christmas eve, right?

Will: Mm-hmm, wouldn't miss it.

Lucas: Don't go too crazy with the holiday spirit. You might hurt yourself.

Will: Yeah, I'm sorry. I'll--I'll work on it.

Lucas: Why don't you ask Sonny to come? Maybe you'll have a better time that way.

Chad: Hey, how about a hand here, huh? Geez. [Sighs]

Sonny: Oh, we got enough decorations already.

Chad: Yeah, well not if we want to attract customers who like a lot of poinsettias and wreaths. Okay. What's going on? What's the matter?

Sonny: I'm just sick of Christmas carols, to be honest with ya.

Chad: Well, aren't you at least looking forward to spending your first Christmas with will? Looks like you are not looking forward to spending your first Christmas with will.

Sonny: Yeah, we got into a fight. A bad one.

Chad: Right. Let me guess, the argument was about Gabi?

Eric: I'd like to get started on the questionnaire that I asked you to fill out.

Gabi: Oh, okay, so do I finally get to hear some of Nick's answers?

Eric: Yeah, and I think you're gonna find some of them pretty interesting.

Gabi: I kinda like this. I mean, Nick doesn't really tell me a lot how he feels. I'm the one that does most of the talking. He's a great listener, and I usually talk a lot when I'm nervous, like now.

Nick: Yeah, it does-- it feels a little bit like an inquisition.

Eric: Careful, Nick. That's not a word that we like to use here.

Nick: [Laughs]

Eric: Look, I'm sorry that this is uncomfortable, and I'm really sorry it makes you nervous, Gabi, but I think there's something that we can-- that's really important here, and something that you can also learn from. For example, question six: "I get angry when he or she--" Gabi, do you know what you wrote?

Gabi: Yeah, I mean, I told the truth, that I've, um--I've never really been angry with Nick.

Eric: That's right. Nick, do you remember what you wrote?

Nick: Uh, yeah.

Eric: Well, do you wanna tell Gabi?

Nick: Uh, do I have a choice?

Gabi: Nick, what's wrong? What is it?

Nick: I said, "I get angry when she lies to me."

Eric: Well, I think that lying is an issue that we need to work on.

John: Wow, what thorough notes you are making. This wouldn't be some kind of a stall tactic, would it?

Marlena: I don't stall. I can't help it if I'm a dedicated professional.

John: Mm-hmm. Just a wild guess here, but could it be that you don't wanna go to this pre-cana conference?

Marlena: What would make you think that? Talking to strangers about marriage, about our marriage?

John: Hm, you know, I don't get it. Talking to strangers about their feelings--isn't that what you do for a living?

Marlena: Yes, and when I'm working, I talk about the patient to the patient. I don't discuss myself, or us.

John: I see. Well, you know what? I think--I think when we get there, we're gonna do a little more listening than we are talking. I mean, after all, we're merely an example of "yes, you can make this work."

Marlena: [Chuckles] I hate it when you're more rational than I am.

John: Yeah, it doesn't happen that often. Listen, I don't think we have to talk about the specifics of our own lives here. I mean, you know, we just hit the tried and true points, you know? You gotta have love. You gotta have communication, honesty, trust, right?

Marlena: Right.

John: Of course I'm right! Marlena Evans marriage 101. Now, come on. Let's go show those kids the path to wedded bliss.

Kristen: Jennifer, I am so sorry. I'm sure this is a surprise.

Jennifer: Yeah, it's a little bit of a surprise. Hey, Brady.

Brady: Jen.

Jennifer: How are you doing? I mean, you're obviously doing really, really well. I didn't mean to interrupt anything. You just sent me a really sweet text, so I just wanted to come by and see who you were-- how you were doing. I'm sorry, this is really uncomfortable.

Kristen: No, no, no, no, no, wait, Jennifer, please.

Jennifer: What?

Kristen: Please, please, I can explain.

Hope: I checked the flight status. Yeah, it says it's on time. So we'll see you tonight. I can't wait. Well... what do you think I'm doing? No, no, just guess, just guess. [Giggles] You know me so well. Yes! I'm shopping. You know it's in the Horton DNA to shop until the very last moment. So tell me: Just how wonderful is it to see Shawn-Douglas, belle, and Claire? Aw, Brady, I'm so happy to hear it. Well, tell them that Ciara and I can't wait to see them. Listen, please be careful, okay?

Will: You want Sonny to come? Are you serious? You mean that?

Lucas: No, I don't mean it. I like to say things that I don't mean this close to the Christmas holiday, especially when it comes to my son, who I love very much.

Will: You know, I really do appreciate you asking, but I don't think it's gonna happen, because I don't think Sonny and I are really gonna spend the holidays together.

Lucas: Why not? Is he out of town, or something?

Will: No. We just got into kind of a fight.

Lucas: Really?

Will: Yeah. I stormed out, and we haven't spoken to each other since.

Lucas: You know, um, in my experience, when you're in a relationship, fights can be hard, especially in the beginning, but, you know, you could always work it out if you love each other. I mean, you--you guys still love each other, right?

Will: Yeah, I love him. I don't know how he feels about me anymore.

Sonny: You know, the fight was kind of about Gabi, kind of not.

Chad: Well, that's about as clear as mud.

Sonny: I told will he should stay away from her...

Chad: Uh-huh.

Sonny: And he didn't like that.

Chad: Okay.

Sonny: You know, but seeing as how I can't tell him why he needs to stay away from her, it probably came off that I was, like, high-handed, or imperious.

Chad: Sonny, you can't tell him why, okay? I could probably go to jail. All right, no one else can know about this, all right? You got that?

Sonny: I know. I didn't say any--

Chad: Okay, thank you. I'm s--I'm sorry. Really, I'm sorry. I know this whole thing is a mess.

Sonny: It's just somehow, when I was talking to him, I said something about Gabi and it really hit a nerve.

Jennifer: No, you don't have to explain anything.

Kristen: [Sighs] Because it's so obvious.

Jennifer: No, because it's none of my business.

Kristen: What if I wanna explain, please?

Jennifer: You know, you can just text me, or something, because obviously, you are really in the middle of something, and I'm interrupt--

Kristen: Brady was just leaving.

Jennifer: No, I was just leaving. I think I left my oven on, or something, at home.

Kristen: Oh, but Jen--

Brady: Je-- [Groans]

Kristen: Oh, my God. What are we gonna do, Brady? What are we gonna do?

Brady: Well, I'm gonna go talk to her, and then I'm gonna let you know how it goes.

Kristen: Okay. Please do. Hurry. That's not the worst thing that could've happened.

Will: So what was your first fight with mom like?

Lucas: I think we're still having it. Yeah, but here's what I can remember. Um, you know, when you first start out in a relationship, you think that you're better than everybody else. You think you're never gonna fight, and you're always gonna get along, but that's kind of like hoping that the same president is there every four years, or the cubs win the world series, something like that.

Will: Yeah, and you want him to love your friends and you're gonna love his friends.

Lucas: Right. What, is that what this is about?

Will: Well, it's where it started. I'm not sure where it's gonna end.

Chad: Okay, so what do you mean you hit a nerve?

Sonny: Well, no, I'm not sure what I mean.

Chad: Okay, stop right here.

Sonny: All right. [Groans] Look, I know me and will haven't been dating that long, but I feel like I know him so well, and for him just to blow up and storm off like that?

Chad: Yeah.

Sonny: I mean, yeah, I shouldn't have told him to stay away from Gabi, but just to walk out on me? Didn't even wanna talk to me. It's like he couldn't face me.

Chad: Huh.

Sonny: This is the part that you're supposed to tell me I'm overreacting, right?

Chad: [Laughs] Look, I don't know, man. I mean, the only thing I do know is I wish to hell that I never told you about Gabi. I mean, look at her. She's coming between you and will now? Maybe, you know, if you want him back, you just gotta forget everything I told you about her.

Sonny: Forget? What she did to Melanie? That's not gonna be easy. And I shouldn't go here, but Gabi and Melanie were friends...

Chad: Yeah.

Sonny: And look what she did to her. What do you think could happen to will?

Nick: So this questionnaire is kind of like a trap?

Eric: You guys are planning to vow to spend the rest of your lives together. Don't you think that this is something that--important you should talk about?

Nick: There was this one lie. She told me one lie, and I got angry.

Eric: Okay, it seems that that must've been important.

Nick: Yeah, it was about the baby.

Gabi: Uh, Nick, I don't-- I don't think I wanna talk about this in front of father Eric.

Eric: Okay, we don't have to talk about a specific lie.

Nick: No, no, I--I'd like to talk about it. I mean, isn't that what this is about? It's about getting things out in the open. I was upset when you told somebody else about the baby before you told me.

Gabi: But-- I'm sorry, I'm sorry.

Nick: It made me feel like you don't trust me.

Gabi: Nick, look, when I found out about the baby, I wasn't thinking straight, and I wanted to tell you, but I was just scared, and it was a mistake. I'm sorry. That doesn't change the fact, though, that I love you, and I trust you.

Nick: Well, I know that now, and, uh, I love you too. [Exhales]

Kristen: Excuse me? I think you dropped this.

Hope: Thank you.

Kristen: Sure, and I was wondering when I was gonna bump into you. Hi! It's been such a long time.

Hope: Yeah, um, guess you've been busy bumping into John.

Kristen: Ooh, somebody's on the Marlena pipeline.

Marlena: She's having an affair.

Hope: Of course she is. Poor guy has no idea what he's in for. Who's the unlucky guy?

Marlena: Brady.

Hope: I know that your return has just, you know, been less than pleasant for a lot of people.

Kristen: Well, thankfully, that's not true for everyone.

Hope: I've heard that.

Brady: Jen, Jen, Jen, listen. Hey, can we talk about this--

Jennifer: No, I don't want to. I really, really don't wanna talk about it.

Brady: Okay, well, can you promise me you'll keep it to yourself and you won't say anything about it?

Jennifer: I really don't think anyone would believe me.

Brady: All right, you are obviously upset about what you saw, all right.

Jennifer: You know, we both know something about someone coming in on something, and drawing a wrong conclusion to what they just saw.

Brady: Uh-huh, and you're upset about that still, and that's understandable. It is, but look, if this gets out--

Jennifer: Yes, oh, if this gets out, it would be beyond embarrassing, Brady, really!

Brady: H-hold on a second. I'm not embarrassed about being with Kristen, okay?

Jennifer: With Kristen? Are you saying that this wasn't just a one-afternoon stand?

Brady: No. We're a couple, Jennifer.

Jennifer: Brady, you got a lobotomy and you did not tell me.

Lucas: Love is kind of like a job. I know that doesn't sound very exciting, but it's the kind of thing you gotta work at. You know, you really gotta listen to the other person's opinion, you know, without getting upset, or angry.

Will: I can't believe that my dad's giving me boyfriend advice.

Lucas: It's a little weird, isn't it?

Will: Mm-hmm.

Lucas: Yeah. But, you know, if Sonny's the real deal, you know, you wanna hang on to him. You don't wanna screw things up like I usually do. Learn from my mistakes, and don't repeat them, okay?

Will: Yeah, I'll try. Thanks.

Lucas: All right. Well, I'll see you Christmas eve, and hopefully with Sonny. See what happens.

Chad: You know, we keep talking about Gabi. I think we should be talking about you and will, don't you think?

Sonny: Well, isn't Gabi the problem?

Chad: Well, maybe part of it, but part of it is like you said. Will is loyal to his friends, more so than I've ever known, and remember that time when I accused him of killing my father, and how quickly he got past that? I mean, you said so yourself, that's what you like about him, right? And anything that we say about Gabi will not change his mind about her, okay, and anything you say will only come between the two of you, so I think you should, you know, maybe back off? I mean, he's worth it, isn't he?

Sonny: Of course he's worth it. I don't wanna change him. I just don't understand why he's so protective of Gabi.

Eric: If you'd excuse me, I'm gonna check and see what's keeping our guest counselors.

Nick: Yeah. [Exhales] I'm sorry I scared you like that.

Gabi: Ah, it's okay. I just--I overreacted a bit.

Nick: No, no, I totally sprung that on you.

Gabi: Nick, I just hate hiding the truth from everybody. I mean, we're talking to will's uncle, a priest, and we're lying to him about you being the father, and it's just, honestly, just all starting to get to me.

Nick: Yeah, I can tell.

Gabi: I hate lying to everybody.

Nick: But the only lie we're telling is to protect the baby.

Gabi: I know.

Nick: You know?

Gabi: I know.

Nick: And it doesn't even feel like a lie. You know, it's like I love this baby so much that I feel like he is mine.

[Door closes]

Gabi: Shh, shh, shh!

Eric: Okay, well, here they are. I think you all know each other.

Kristen: What exactly did you mean by that?

Hope: Sami told me that you and EJ had become close, and I assume that the same goes for Chad, so you see, not all bad news. At least your brothers are thrilled to have you back.

Kristen: Hmm. Yeah, we're just one big, happy family.

Hope: Well, I--ooh, late. Gotta run. Thank you for this.

Kristen: Sure. Merry Christmas. Bitch. I have a feeling you weren't talking about my brothers, hope. I wonder if Marlena told you about Brady.

Jennifer: You're standing there telling me that you and Kristen are a couple? What--you hate her!

Brady: I, um, thought I did, but I was wrong about her.

Jennifer: [Gasps] Oh, okay. Yeah, she didn't try to kill Marlena. She didn't try to kidnap or stalk anyone, which is what landed her in prison.

Brady: Look, that's not her anymore. That's not who she is anymore. Look, she came to town to be with her family. She has no interest in getting involved with Marlena or my dad.

Jennifer: No, just you, and you don't want me to tell anyone. Don't you think that you should tell them?

Brady: I don't want to until Kristen and I know what this is. Jennifer, if it's not going anywhere, then I don't see the point in telling them.

Jennifer: Right. You're gonna end up hurting them, but you know what? I think you're the one who's gonna end up getting hurt.

Brady: Well, I don't see it that way.

Jennifer: But Brady, you do see that after Madison, right now, you're really vulnerable.

Brady: Yeah. I understand that. It wasn't like I was looking to fall for anyone, all right, let alone Kristen, but hey, what do you know? It happened. And Jen, I am aware of what she's done in the past, but I truly believe in my heart that she has turned her life around.

Jennifer: I know! She keeps saying that, but the point is: This is moving a little too fast, don't you think?

Brady: Am I supposed to be on some kind of timetable? 'Cause that's not how it works. So if Kristen somehow makes me feel alive in some way, am I supposed to turn my back on that just because the timing is off? Can you understand that I didn't know if I would feel anything again, let alone feel like this?

Jennifer: Yeah, um, I-I understand. If Kristen makes you feel alive and--and good, then I'm glad.

Brady: So you promise you'll keep this to yourself, then?

Jennifer: For now I will, but if I see you heading down some self-destructive path, all bets are off. Deal?

Brady: [Grunts] My father says, "when you don't have a choice, you make the deal."

Sonny: Aw, there we go.

Chad: Wow, look that.

Sonny: Freezing.

Lucas: Wow, this place looks really good.

Chad: Hi, Mr. Horton.

Lucas: Boys, how you doin'?

Chad: Good.

Lucas: Good. Hey, Sonny, you mind if I have a quick word with you? It won't take long.

Sonny: I'm kind of in the middle of something with Chad right now.

Chad: Uh, you know what? If I run into trouble, I'll just get one of the elves to help me.

Lucas: [Laughs] That's good.

Chad: All right.

Sonny: All right, so, uh.... what can I do for you?

Lucas: Well, I saw will, and, uh, he told me you guys had a fight.

Sonny: So what? You come here for confirmation?

Lucas: Mm, no. I came to give you some information. I mean, he told me he walked out, so I'm betting you didn't get a chance to see how torn up inside he was.

Sonny: Why would you want me to know that?

Lucas: Well, I'd hate to see you guys break up over one little fight.

Eric: So I'm gonna leave all you married and engaged folks alone for a while, so feel free to use the other room if you want to split up at some point.

John: [Laughs]

Eric: Maybe split up wasn't the right choice of words.

John: [Laughs]

Eric: Sorry.

Marlena: Hi, Gabi.

Gabi: Hi.

Marlena: Nick, it's nice to see you again.

Nick: Uh, same here, dr. Evans.

Marlena: I guess before we start, I'd like to make something pretty clear. I don't want you to feel John and I think we have the answers to a happy marriage. We don't.

John: No one does.

Gabi: Well, I wanna say thank you for taking the time. It's very nice of you.

Nick: Kinda seems like you don't want to.

John: No, no, I think what Marlena means is we do. We want to help you kids. It's just that we don't want to preach or lecture.

Marlena: And we don't want to invade your privacy.

Nick: Ah, thank you for saying that.

Marlena: We do want to make one thing clear. There really is no list of "do"s and "don't"s that guarantee a perfect marriage. It's complicated.

John: Well, actually, there are some general rules. You know, like, the man's always right.

Nick: [Chuckles]

John: I know I'm not supposed to even joke about that. Seriously, there is one guideline you really need to stick to, though, and that's "no secrets." One thing I've learned over the years is secrets got a real bad way of coming out.

Sonny: Because I love you, will. I really love you.

Will: I need to talk to him.

Eric: Hey!

Will: Oh, hey, uncle Eric.

Eric: Will, it's good to see you. We were just talking about you.

Will: Really?

Eric: Well, yeah. We just finished our pre-cana sessions with Nick and Gabi, and they said you were gonna be the best man at the wedding.

Will: Mm, yeah, I guess so.

Eric: Well, it'll be my first wedding, so it'll be nice to see a good, friendly face in the audience. [Chuckles] Well, look, you look like you're in a hurry. I don't wanna keep you.

Will: Oh, yeah, I just needed to talk to somebody.

Eric: Okay, well, I'll catch you later, then.

Will: Okay. Wait, uh, uncle Eric. Sorry. Um, do you think that Nick and Gabi are gonna be good parents?

John: Yeah, I know we said that we weren't gonna lecture, but you mind if I ask a question?

Nick: I-I guess not.

John: You know, you're both pretty young. You haven't known each other for that long, so why do you wanna get married so soon?

Nick: I-I guess father Eric didn't tell you. Uh, we're having a baby.

Marlena: Really?

Nick: But that only sped things up. I mean, we knew that we wanted to be together from the beginning, and we both believe that God wants us to be married.

Marlena: Is your mother excited about being a grandmother?

Gabi: Well, the thing is that she, um--she has respiratory problems, and so, Rafe and I were thinking that maybe the news would be a little too much for her right now.

Nick: Yeah.

John: She doesn't know about the baby?

Gabi: Well, I haven't told her about the wedding either.

Sonny: I'm, uh--I'm kind of surprised, you know, 'cause I know you've always been supportive, but I would've thought that you'd be relieved that will and I are having problems.

Lucas: Oh, this has nothing to do with my feelings. It has to do with you guys, how you feel about each other. And I'm, you know, hoping you guys can work things out.

Sonny: All right, yeah. Well, thank you for coming here and talking to me.

Lucas: Yeah, cool, no problem. Just one more thing: I think we should keep this on the down low, you know? Don't tell will about this conversation we just had.

Sonny: Sure, no problem.

Lucas: Cool. Well, hopefully, I'll see you around soon.

Sonny: Yeah.

Lucas: Okay. Oh, wait, wait, wait, one more thing. Um, can I ask you a question that's probably none of my business?

Sonny: Yeah, go for it.

Lucas: Was your fight about money?

Sonny: Money?

Lucas: Yeah, yeah, I know you gave will and Gabi money for their school project. I did the same thing. I gave them, like, 50, 60 bucks. I'm not prying, or anything. I'm just saying if will owes you money, I'll be happy to pay you back right now. I'll pay you double.

Sonny: Oh, no, no, no. Uh, I mean, thank you for offering, but money wasn't the issue.

Lucas: You sure?

Sonny: Mm-hmm, but thank you.

Lucas: All right. Was just trying to help. Take care. See ya, Chad.

Chad: See you, Mr. Horton.

Will: I need to borrow some money from you, and I can't tell you why.

Sonny: "School project"?

Kristen: I meant what I said at the hotel. I really just want to explain.

Jennifer: No, you--you don't need to explain. It's none of my business.

Kristen: Jennifer, you care about Brady. I know that. I want you to hear it from me, that what happened between Brady and me, it just happened. I mean, it took us both by surprise--

Jennifer: I--yes, I know. He explained that all to me.

Kristen: And?

Jennifer: I believe him.

Kristen: But you're not sure about me.

Jennifer: I really don't know what to think about you, Kristen, and I don't think I'm out of line when I say that you don't show a lot of concern, or care, for others.

Kristen: That was in the past, and I know you're talking about John and Marlena.

Jennifer: Yeah, because this whole thing with Brady, it could end up hurting them, and you could be hurting Brady too.

Kristen: I realize that it's gonna be a long time before my word means anything around here, Jennifer, but I promise you that my feelings for Brady are real, and they have nothing to do with hurting John and Marlena.

Jennifer: You were obsessed with John. That's just over?

Kristen: Absolutely. Absolutely! I have moved on with my life.

Jennifer: To his son, Kristen!

Kristen: Look, I know. I realize that. I wish it wasn't the case, but it is, and you know what? I'm grateful. I'm grateful that I have been given a second chance.

Jennifer: Yeah, I think that we all like to hope that we can all have a second chance, Kristen, but I just hope that this whole situation with Brady doesn't turn into a huge disaster.

Marlena: What about the rest of your family? Does your brother Dario know about the wedding?

Gabi: No, not yet.

Marlena: Nick, what about your family?

Nick: Oh, yeah, my family knows. I mean, you tell one Horton something, and you've effectively told all Hortons, so.

Marlena: How'd they react?

Nick: Uh, they were happy. I mean, maybe a little surprised that things were moving so fast, but I mean, they're right. I've only been out for a couple of months.

John: Out?

Nick: Uh, I was in prison.

John: I see. My memory's a little fuzzy from that time. What were you in for?

Nick: Uh, kidnapping and murder?

Gabi: Well, Nick, you know, he did his time and he's changed. Nick says doctor Evans saw that, and helped him get out, right?

Nick: Before I was paroled, she came to talk to me about my past and my addiction to pain-killers.

Marlena: I did. Nick convinced me that he is ready to return to society.

Nick: But you don't think that anymore?

Marlena: I didn't say that. I think you could've shown better judgment, taken this whole thing maybe a little more slowly.

Eric: Nick and Gabi, they told you about the baby.

Will: Yes, and I know-- I'm sorry, I shouldn't ask, but I'm just--you know, they're so young.

Eric: Yeah, yes, they are, but your mom, she was young too, but look how good you turned out.

Will: Yeah, I'm not so sure about that.

Eric: Well, I am, will. You know what--and I'm glad that you and Gabi are such good friends, and you know what? It's gonna be good that you're Nick's best man. I hope you guys stay close, you know, 'cause they're gonna need friends.

Will: Mm, yes, I know we will.

Eric: Listen, um, I came here to catch up with grandma, and I know that you're in a hurry, so please, don't let me keep you.

Will: Okay, okay, great.

Eric: But I'll see you soon.

Will: Yeah! Good to see you.

Eric: Something is bothering that kid.

Sonny: Chad, hey. Do you remember that day you went over to Gabi's, and Nick was there?

Chad: Yeah. Why?

Sonny: Okay, and they were arguing, right?

Chad: That's a polite word for that, but, I mean, he was really, really ticked off, and she was crying, and--

Sonny: And then will showed up?

Chad: Yeah, then he asked me to leave, said he'd handle it. Why are you asking?

Sonny: Just, um... nothing, nothing.

Chad: Right. Okay, well, I better get behind the counter. God, it's like a fricking winter wonderland in here. Are you serious?

Sonny: That was the day you asked to borrow money. Nick and Gabi weren't arguing about a school project. What are you hiding from me, will?

Hope: Anyway, I got Maggie the most incredible gloves for Christmas, except it turns out I dropped them and never even noticed. Thanks, cuz. There. Guess who the good Samaritan was who returned them back to me. Just--just take a guess.

Jennifer: [Sighs]

Hope: Kristen.

Jennifer: Wow, and I know how fond you are of her.

Hope: Yeah, but, well, what about you? Have you seen her?

Jennifer: Yeah, I actually have seen her a couple times. She seems to be keeping really busy.

Hope: Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of.

Jennifer: Well, listen, I'm sad that you're not gonna be here for Christmas. It's not gonna be the same without you here.

Hope: Aw, I'll be here in spirit. You give everyone a big hug and kiss for me?

Jennifer: I will, yes.

Hope: And by the way, I forgot to mention. I understand that Daniel's gonna be spending Christmas here in the Horton house.

Jennifer: Well, yes, he is. I mean, he's Maggie's son, so he should be here.

Hope: Yeah, he is. I think I've heard that somewhere else. He said the same thing to me. I love you, cuz, and I just want you and Daniel to have a very merry little Christmas. I want to see you happy.

Jennifer: Thanks.

Brady: Look, I don't think Jennifer's gonna tell anyone.

Kristen: You don't think? That's not very reassuring, Brady.

Brady: She said she wasn't gonna tell anyone for now, and I know she meant it. Anyway, I think we should be a little more careful, and I have a meeting to get to, so can I see you later?

Kristen: Don't forget to take the back stairs, okay?

Brady: I'm really looking forward to the time when we don't have to sneak around anymore.

Kristen: It might be a lot sooner than you think. Marlena knows, and... Jennifer knows. Pretty sure hope knows. Just a matter of time before John knows, which means there's a lot to do before that happens, starting with Christmas eve.

John: Oh, sweetheart, I think maybe this is a good time to, um, maybe split up here. Nick, what do you say? Maybe we can talk in the other room?

Nick: Oh, uh, I guess so, if that's okay with you.

Gabi: Go ahead.

Nick: Okay. Okay.

Gabi: So what do you think we should talk about?

Marlena: I have to ask you a question. Why haven't you told your family about the wedding?

Gabi: I told you, my mom isn't feeling well.

Marlena: Are you afraid she'll be upset by the news of the baby?

Gabi: Yeah, she's gonna be upset. She has a lot of plans for me.

Marlena: [Exhales] There's that. I just--I can't help but wonder.

Gabi: Wonder what?

Marlena: Wonder why you haven't told anybody in your family except Rafe. You did tell Rafe, didn't you?

Gabi: No, Sami did.

Marlena: I'm sorry. Help me with something. Is it the pregnancy you're ashamed of, or is it Nick?

Chad: Oh, hey! Sure hope you're here to talk to Sonny.
