John: So you get knocked out coming to Kristen's rescue, and she doesn't even have the decency to call me to tell me that you're in the hospital? What the hell's the matter with that woman, anyway?

Marlena: John, listen, we need to talk about this.

Brady: That's not how it was.

John: How did it happen?

Kristen: I did call you. In fact, I called you several times. Didn't you get my messages?

Marlena: [Scoffs] Really? John, the really important part here is that Brady is okay.

John: No, I never got any messages, because you never made any calls. So what kind of game are you playing with me now?

Sami: It's about Gabi.

Rafe: Gabi?

Sami: She made me promise not to say anything, but you are her brother, and you're the kind of brother that you are, and I think it's right that you know what's going on.

Rafe: Something's going on with Gabi?

Sami: Well, you know she works at the pub with Nick Fallon.

Rafe: [Sighs] Oh, man. Are you serious?

Sami: What? What do you think I just said?

Rafe: Well, what do you mean what do I think? She's sleeping with him, right?

Will: You want to get an abortion?

Gabi: Look, I told you, I've been all night thinking about this. Look, you're--you're gay. I'm straight. You know, we're with other people. You're a student. I'm a part-time student/waitress. Our lives this year have been crazy, and now we're just starting to get our head above water. I mean, what kind of life could we--could we even give this baby?

Will: I don't know. Not much of one, I guess. So is this what you want?

Gabi: Will... you've always meant so much to me. If I do this--if I do this... will you hate me?

Will: I was the one who showed up here that night. And you were upset about Chad, and you weren't in any shape to say no to me, and I knew that, and I took advantage of that. And I wasn't thinking about you. I wasn't thinking about anything. So, if I hate anybody, I hate myself, and I could never hate you... no matter what you decide. This is your life, and it's your body, and it's your choice.

Gabi: No, it's your baby too. So, please, think about this, all right? Think really hard... because if you--if you can't live with this... then I'm not gonna go through with it.

Sami: Maybe you should try breathing deeply, you know? Just--

Rafe: What good is that gonna do? Gabi is my little sister! Nick is an ex-con!

Sami: Okay, he's a lot more than an ex-con, okay?

Rafe: I tell you, when I get hold of him--

Sami: He's smart, he's kind, he's so sweet with--

Rafe: He killed someone, you do realize that? Not to mention the fact that he kidnapped Melanie!

Sami: Well, he wasn't in his right mind, okay? He was addicted to those pain meds.

Rafe: Oh, well, that makes me feel so much better.

Sami: He wasn't in control of his actions.

Rafe: So we should just give him a pass?

Sami: No, he served his time, and now he's trying to start a new life.

Rafe: I talked to him about Gabi, and he led me to believe that nothing was going on between the two. So I'm just gonna go and have another talk with him-- a different kind of talk.

Sami: Uh, Rafe, he loves her.

Rafe: He told you that?

Sami: He didn't have to. I have eyes, and I can see that she feels the same way about him.

Rafe: Oh... beautiful. That's just beautiful.

Sami: Don't you think you should sit? Here, here, please, just sit down.

Rafe: No, no, no, you realize they've known each other for what, like, five minutes? And the guy was in jail for four years. He will do or say whatever he needs to to get what he wants from my sister.

Sami: I broke a confidence to tell you this.

Rafe: And I truly appreciate it. So I'll make sure, before I kill Nick, that he doesn't know who told me, okay?

Sami: Yeah, before you go around killing people, can you please give me a chance to stop you from making a very big mistake?

Rafe: No, you know, the mistake that I made was not being clear to Nick to make sure that he knew if he touched a hair on my sister's head that I was gonna kill him.

Sami: Okay, okay, so you're mad at Nick, because you don't think he respects your sister, right? What you're about to do disrespects Gabi in a way that is much worse.

Kristen: It's true, John. I called you at least once last night, two or three times this morning. Every time I told you--I left messages that Brady had been hurt, and he was in the hospital.

John: Where the hell's my phone?

Marlena: Uh, John, uh, I've got it here. It's--you left it on the table at the restaurant.

John: No messages.

Kristen: I made those calls. If you don't believe me, you can check my phone.

Brady: I, uh--I heard her make one of those calls, actually. She left a message.

John: I think I know what happened.

Marlena: B-before we all start going to put down--

John: I'm sorry that I was not there for you last night or this morning. I'm sorry.

Brady: Dad, don't worry about that.

John: I'm going to page your doctor--he's gonna fill me in. I will be back. I'm--I'm sorry that I jumped to the wrong conclusions. Thank you for reaching out.

Kristen: You're welcome.

Marlena: John?

Brady: What just happened there?

Kristen: Beats me.

Marlena: John?

John: You want to tell me what you know about those missing messages?

Brady: You know, I've been reading my dad and Marlena for a long time, and he is mad at her. He doesn't usually get mad at her. Do you know why?

Kristen: Well... I certainly can't be the one that gets involved. If you want answers, you should probably ask your dad or, um... you know, maybe your stepmother.

Marlena: I didn't listen to the messages. I didn't know Brady had been hurt.

John: I told you I wasn't going to talk to her anymore.

Marlena: I know, so I thought there was no more reason for her to be--

John: You thought I was gullible, and I couldn't even handle a damn phone message from her?

Marlena: No, I didn't think you were gullible.

John: Well, what is it, then, you don't trust me anymore?

Sonny: Can I help you?

Lucas: Yeah, I guess just give me a large half-caff, low-fat milk. And we may need to talk too.

Will: Gabi, I feel like you're making this my decision when it's not.

Gabi: Look... look, you and I are not together, okay? And I know we're never gonna be, all right? But from the moment that I found out I was pregnant, you have been there for me, and because of you, I've never felt alone, all right? This is our decision.

Will: No.

Gabi: I can face having this baby alone.

Will: Gabi, you just--

Gabi: What I can't face, Will... is not having you as my friend. All right? So we need to agree together.

Will: Okay. Here's what you need to know... I will always be your friend. I will always be your friend, no matter what. Like I said, I watched my mom go through this... and you're gonna be the one who has to carry the baby to term, and you're gonna be the one who has to have the baby, which is something that I can't even think about.

Gabi: Yeah, well, that makes two of us.

Will: Your life is gonna drastically change... a lot more than mine... and we both know that's true. So... whatever you want, I want. And whatever you decide to do, I'm going to be there, okay? All the way.

Gabi: [Sighs] [Sighs]

Rafe: Well, you know how much I love my sister.

Sami: Of course, I do.

Rafe: Mm-hmm. So protecting her from Fallon is disrespecting her how?

Sami: You beat Nick up, and that's saying to Gabi that you don't think she's smart enough to make her own choices.

Rafe: Yeah, well, if she's choosing him, then clearly she's not.

Sami: Because you know best.

Rafe: Yeah, in this case, I do.

Sami: [Sighs] Just like you knew what was best when you decided not to trust me with Nicole's secret.

Rafe: Oh, come on, that's totally different, and you know it.

Sami: You're right. It is. But if you beat up Nick and you blow up at Gabi, she is gonna walk away from you, just like I did, because she's gonna know--just like I do--that you don't have any faith in her.

Rafe: I have faith in both of you.

Sami: Prove it.

Rafe: [Scoffs] How?

Sami: You want Gabi to come to you when she's in trouble, don't you?

Rafe: Yeah, more than anything.

Sami: Then she has to believe that you won't judge her. She has to know that you respect her and her life and that she gets to live it the way that she wants to.

Rafe: Is this something you learned with Will?

Sami: I've had a rough year with Will. It's much better now, because I took the advice that I am offering you.

Rafe: All right. When you're right, you're right.

Sami: Whoa. There's a first.

Rafe: Yeah, all right, take it easy.

Sami: [Chuckles]

Rafe: I didn't say that I liked her and Nick being together.

Sami: I didn't say you had to say that.

Rafe: Thanks.

Sami: Wait. Where are you going?

Rafe: To go tell Gabi that I know everything. Mm.

Sami: [Sighs]

Rafe: But I don't, do I? All right, come on... what else is there?

Maggie: Brady, I heard what happened. Ah, Kristen.

Kristen: Hi, Maggie.

Maggie: Hi.

Kristen: Hi.

Maggie: [Chuckles] I heard you were back in Salem.

Kristen: Uh, yeah. I guess good news travels fast, right? I heard that you're married now to Victor Kiriakis. Is that true?

Maggie: That's right.

Kristen: Wow. Things really do have a way of changing in life, don't they?

[Both chuckle]

Maggie: We're very happy.

Kristen: Oh, I'm so glad. Well, hooray for love.

Maggie: Mm-hmm.

Kristen: Okay, well, um, I'm gonna let you two have a nice visit, and I'll talk to you later. Bye-bye.

Maggie: Okay, what was she doing here?

Brady: It's a long story.

Marlena: Of course, I trust you. John, I saw your phone, and it was the same time that Kristen had just found out that you weren't going to be serving on the board of St. Luke's with her. I-I just thought it was one of her new ploys.

John: Brady was knocked unconscious. You heard the doctor. My son could've died, and I wasn't there, and don't blame Kristen. It was you.

Marlena: You're right.

Kristen: Is everything okay?

Marlena: John didn't get your messages because I deleted them, but you know that.

Kristen: How could I possibly know that? All I knew was that John wasn't picking up or returning my calls. I thought maybe his phone was dead.

Marlena: Really?

Kristen: Yes.

Marlena: Why didn't you call Hope or Sami, a member of the family?

Kristen: I don't have their numbers, and, frankly, it didn't occur to me.

Marlena: You're lying.

Kristen: You know, I was there when Brady got hurt, and I was just trying to do the right thing, Marlena.

Marlena: Don't try to play innocent. You can't pull it off. What did you do-- hire the two muggers?

John: All right, that's enough. Leave her alone.

Sonny: What did you want to talk about?

Lucas: Well, I may have pushed you a little bit too hard last night.

Sonny: It's--I mean, I pushed you too.

Lucas: Yeah, you did, but I deserved it. I was out of line. I really don't have a problem with anybody who's gay. I just--you know, I never thought my son would be one of them. But I have realized that I'm the one who has to change here... you know? I'm gonna have to accept things. It's not gonna be easy for me, because I love Will very much.

Sonny: Well, what do you know? You and I do have one thing in common.

Gabi: I guess we should just call the clinic.

Will: Could I ask you one thing?

Gabi: Yeah.

Will: And I'm not trying to give you an argument... but have you thought about adoption?

Gabi: Yeah, I thought about that last night for a long time. I just feel like my mom and Rafe would never stop working on me to, you know, keep the baby. And they'd say they'd help me, and eventually I would feel guilty and cave in.

Will: Yeah, my family would do the same thing.

Gabi: It doesn't matter what our families did, this baby would still--it would still be our responsibility.

Will: Yeah.

Gabi: I just feel like this world would be a better place if it was filled with wanted children.

Will: Yeah, me too.

Gabi: You know, I... I've just been so lost... and--and just now I'm starting to feel like I've... you know, finding out who I am.

Will: Why is that? Oh, because of Nick? [Sighs] Yeah, I know what you mean.

Gabi: Sonny?

Will: You're afraid... that if we keep the baby, we're gonna have to give them up. Right?

Rafe: Sami... don't you play games with me here. What is going on? What else do you know between Nick and Gabi?

Sami: Okay, look, you just have to promise me you're not gonna go ballistic like you just did.

Rafe: Well, what? How bad can it be, huh? What, did he violate his parole? Is Gabi covering for him? Is that it?

Sami: Could you just give me a second? I'm trying to figure out how to say this.

Rafe: Okay, well, whatever it is, you don't have to sugarcoat it for me--just tell me.

Sami: Well, I'm also not going to just blurt it out.

Rafe: Okay. We're gonna do this your way.

Sami: Well, I am the one with the information.

Rafe: Okay.

Sami: First, I would just like to say that I really do believe that Nick and Gabi are in love.

Rafe: You already said that.

Sami: Let me also say that I think Nick was at the brink of hell, and he pulled himself back, and now he is totally trying to make a new life for himself. I think he's gonna succeed. He's not just gonna be working at the pub--

Rafe: You're losing me here. Listen, whatever it is, just tell me, okay? I promise you, you and I will talk about it before I go and talk to Gabi, okay? Look.

Sami: Okay. Gabi's pregnant.

Gabi: [Sighs]

Will: You know, when I look at you and Nick, I see that you have something that you always wanted. You didn't have it with Chad. You definitely didn't have it with me.

Gabi: Well, I mean, I could say the same thing about Sonny. Will, I want kids. I really do, but--

Will: I know, just not now... and not with me.

Gabi: So do you want to go tell Sonny that I'm pregnant with your baby?

Will: It kills me not to tell him. I mean, I... I want him to know everything there is to know about me. But I'm afraid of what he might do.

Gabi: Okay. So there we are.

Will: My parents were young when they had me... and it was not easy being the big mistake of two stupid teenagers. It seemed to me that they were still chasing after what they wanted... and they kind of just passed me off on whoever was available.

Gabi: Is this the time in our lives when we're supposed to chase after what we want?

Will: Yeah. I don't want... I don't want my kid growing up feeling the same things that I felt.

Gabi: Okay. So what you're saying is that you... you agree. This is the right thing to do.

Lucas: You love Will... which tells me that we both want what's best for him, right?

Sonny: Yeah, but "what's best" might have two different meanings for you and me.

Lucas: Well, I think it's best that we try to get along.

Sonny: I agree. It just might take some time.

Lucas: I'm Will's dad. I'm not going anywhere.

Sonny: Me neither.

Lucas: Okay, then. Guess we settled it. Uh, I'll see you around.

Will: Does the website say anything about how much this is going to cost?

Gabi: Uh, yeah, it's, um... it's $350, and I want to pay cash.

Will: Okay. Yeah, sure.

Gabi: I just paid my tuition, so I probably have, like, um... yeah, $90, something like that, and I'm almost three months pregnant. The longer I wait, I'm--

Will: Okay, okay, let's see. I got... uh, I got 48 bucks.

Gabi: Right, so we're just, like, off by 200 and something, right?

Will: Don't worry about it, though. I mean, the mo--I got it. I'll get it. Don't worry about it.

Gabi: There's another problem... your mom.

Will: Yeah, of all the people to find out that you're pregnant--

Gabi: Yeah, well, at least she thinks it's Nick's.

Will: It's because she doesn't think she has to worry about me getting anybody pregnant anymore.

Gabi: Okay, look, um... after the procedure, I'm just gonna tell her that-- that I lost the baby. You know, that happens a lot in the first trimester, right?

Will: Oh, okay. So wh--uh... when do you want to do it?

Gabi: Today, if I can.

Will: Okay, today? But I thought you just--

Gabi: Yeah, but I mean, it's gonna get--it's gonna get more and more obvious... and this is our choice. You know, I just--I want to take care of this before anyone else finds out... or other people start running our lives.

Rafe: My baby sister... is having a baby?

Sami: Yeah.

Rafe: Are you sure?

Sami: I was at the hospital when she got the news. Nick had brought her in because she fainted. He--he was so sweet with her.

Rafe: Yeah. Ugh. She fainted... because she's pregnant. He swore to me. He swore to me that nothing was going on between them.

Sami: Well, maybe nothing was going on when he said that to you. Come on, you know as well as I do that sometimes friends can end up much more than that.

Brady: Maggie, what brings you to the hospital?

Maggie: Mm. I have a friend who works here, and she texted me that you had been attacked.

Brady: And you were probably worried that it might have been a drug deal gone bad or something like that, right?

Maggie: I am your sponsor and a friend.

Brady: I was--I was chasing Kristen down. And when I finally caught up with her, she was in the process of being mugged.

Maggie: So you intervened?

Brady: And the mugger's partner hit me on the back with what felt like a baseball bat or something.

Maggie: Oh, Brady.

Brady: It's just a concussion. It's no big deal. We both know I've had hangovers that feel much worse than this.

Maggie: Well, I'm glad you're okay. Why were you running after Kristen? I mean, what has she done now?

Brady: Honestly, uh... not a damn thing.

Marlena: Don't you see it? She showed up in Brady's room right at the proper moment, and now she pops in here. John, do you think it's a coincidence?

Kristen: Excuse me, but exactly what is my evil plan?

Marlena: You want to keep me from explaining this to John.

Kristen: Like I happened to know that you deleted my messages?

Marlena: I know what you're doing.

John: This isn't helping, Doc, stop--

Kristen: No, it's okay. It's all right, John. I mean, Brady has a close call, and the both of you are upset. I understand. But you-- one second--you know, you have to know that I've been trying. I gave up a great position at my father's company to limit my contact with Sami, and even though my interactions with Brady have been far from pleasant, he came to my rescue last night, and I was just trying to do the right thing. Well, I guess we know how that all worked out. But at least you're both here now. I promise you, in the future, if one of your loved ones gets hurt or they're in a situation and I happen to be the first one on the scene, I'll make sure that somebody else contacts them, okay? Uh, I guess where we're concerned, there's no getting past the past. I'll just go.

John: Kristen--

Marlena: Wait. You and I finally agree about something. You need to get out of here. Leave Brady's care to us and crawl back under your rock, you conniving bitch.

Sonny: Hey. You will never believe what just happened.

Will: What?

Sonny: Are you okay?

Will: Oh, yeah. I just--I didn't get a lot of-- I didn't sleep a lot last night.

Sonny: Well, neither did I... but I'm not complaining.

Will: Hey, I need a favor.

Sonny: Uh, sure. Name it.

Will: Um, I need to borrow some money from you, and I can't tell you why.

Gabi: [Sighs] No, I can't, not yet.

Rafe: I can't believe this.

Sami: She didn't want me to tell you 'cause she, and I quote, didn't want you to hate her.

Rafe: Hate her? I'd never hate her. Why would she think that? 'Cause I'd rant and rave and read her the riot act... make her feel like nothing but a screw-up... which is the last thing that she needs right now. I have to see her.

Sami: I'll go with you.

Maggie: You were running after Kristen 'cause she didn't do anything?

Brady: Well, I mean, not yet, anyway. I mean, she's been a very busy lady since she's been back in town. You wouldn't believe the number of times that she has randomly bumped into my dad and Marlena.

Maggie: Wow. That's--that's kind of their problem.

Brady: What are you--what is that supposed to mean?

Maggie: Well, maybe you should be concerned about taking care of yourself... instead of your father and Marlena.

Kristen: I just--I just can't take anymore of this.

John: Kristen--

Marlena: Really? Really? You're going to comfort her? What, give her your jacket or a shoulder to lean on?

John: What are you doing? What's going on here? I don't even know you anymore.

Marlena: Is this a lecture about how I'm overreacting?

John: You call her a "conniving bitch"? Come on, Doc, that's not you.

Marlena: John, she hired those muggers. I know she did. And you're right--Brady could have died.

John: That's ridiculous! No, you're saying she's planning everything, that our lives are at her mercy. That's paranoia, Marlena. It discounts who we are and everything that we have.

Marlena: I will not wait around while her stunts destroy or kill somebody that I love, and I will not be her victim again, and I am so sorry that makes me look unladylike in the process.

John: No, stop it. You don't have any proof that she's playing us.

Marlena: Okay, fine. Okay, fine. Let's just say that she's right, and I'm wrong. John, she tried to kill me. I'm sorry. I'm human. I'm hurt, and I'm scared, and I'm human. And I don't want her in our lives, and I don't want the burden of proof to be on me, and I don't want you finding a way to take her side. I want you on my side. And if you can't understand that I'm not on the top of my game when she's around, then... well, then go ahead... take the high road. You forgive her. I can't. I just can't.

John: I never asked you to forgive her. I just asked you to move on, for me. Can you do that, Doc? Marlena? So that's your answer... no answer? All right, well, then let me leave you with one more question. When did you and I stop talking to each other?

[Knock at door]

Brady: Yeah?

Kristen: Hi. I'm sorry I keep bothering you. I can't find my phone. Have you seen it?

Brady: Yeah. It's right here.

Kristen: Thank you. Than you. Um, Brady... um... I just really appreciate what you did last night, you know, coming to my rescue. So thank you.

Brady: You're welcome. And thank you for keeping me from cracking my head open when I got up a little too soon.

Kristen: [Laughs] That was actually kind of a big challenge. Anyway... I'll see you.

Brady: See you.

[Door closes]

Sonny: Well, how much do you need?

Will: Like, 200 bucks.

Sonny: Damn.

Will: Yeah, I know. That's a lot.

Sonny: No, it's just--I left my wallet at home, and I just did a bank drop, so I got, like, 150 bucks. But why don't you give me, like, 15 minutes? I'll run home, I can grab my--

Will: No, no, no. That's--that's perfect. 150 is perfect, and I'll pay you back as soon as I can.

Sonny: Okay. I mean, whatever. [Sighs] I hope it all, uh... works out for you.

Will: Thank-- Sonny... um, I just wanted to tell you that last night meant so much to me.

Sonny: Me too.

Will: Okay, so I'll see you soon.

Sonny: I sure hope so.

Will: Okay.

[Door opens, closes]

Sami: Oh, God.

Rafe: Where is she?

Sami: No--

Rafe: Where's Gabi?

Nick: She--she's upstairs resting. I would have called you guys, but she begged me not to.

Rafe: You just better do the right thing.

Sami: Rafe.

Nick: Hey, I love her. You don't have to tell me to do the right thing.

Lucas: Hey, Gabi. You all right? Wow.

John: Front desk says you're getting out of here soon, kid.

Brady: Oh, that's good. That's good. Hey, um... how are you--how are you and Marlena doing, anyway? Is everything all right?

John: No. I'm gonna sign your discharge papers.

Brady: Dad, Dad, hold up. Listen, about Kristen--

John: Hey, kid, you know, I really can't get my head wrapped around another argument right now, okay?

Brady: I-I-I don't--I'm not gonna give you one. I was talking to Maggie, and she said, and I think she's right, that I've been a little too involved with this. It's your business. It is--it is not mine.

John: Damn. That was some knock on the head you took, wasn't it?

Brady: [Chuckles] And about Kristen, uh... you may be right about her.

Kristen: I saw you alone in here. I have just one more thing to say. Thank you.

Sami: Look, Nick, you are gonna have to cut Rafe some slack here, because, you know, you can't expect him to be thrilled to find out that his sister is pregnant.

Nick: What?

Rafe: Gabi? Gabi, open up, it's me. Gabi! Gabi. Where the hell is she?

Gabi: Uh, yeah. Sorry, um, I'm okay. It's nice to see you, Mr. Horton.

Will: I got 150 from Sonny. I just need 50 more... dollars.

Lucas: Which one of you is gonna tell me what's really going on here?
