Jennifer: Cut the crap, Nicole. You used my dead husband, my children, my dignity. You used everything you could to keep me away from Daniel, and now you are using him for your own purposes! You have ruined him! You have ruined his life! But I am telling you, you are not gonna use me. I am gonna make sure you pay for what you've done. Do you hear me?
Nicole: You know what? I cut you some slack because you lost your husband, but I am done with that. And Daniel is as sick of your interference as I am. And what he and I have is none of your business. So why don't you just go back to hanging your preserves or whatever it is you Hortons do for fun.
Jennifer: Let me tell you something. Daniel is still my friend, and I will do everything I can to make sure that you do not hurt him.
Nicole: Believe me. What I do to Daniel doesn't hurt a bit.
Jennifer: You are such a disgusting bitch! Do you hear me? You are disgusting!
Brady: Hey, hey, hey! What the hell are you doing?
Jennifer: Take this. Good luck. Good luck cleaning up the mess you've made of your life.
[Knock at door]
Abigail: I know. What am I doing here, right?
Daniel: Right. Uh, come on in.
Daniel: Everything, uh... everything okay?
Abigail: I hope so. I got this message from Melanie. She said that she was going out of town, but she didn't say why. She didn't say where she was going. She didn't say really anything, and I keep calling her and she's not returning my calls.
Daniel: She's on a plane.
Abigail: Well, where is she going?
Daniel: She--to Barcelona.
Daniel: To be with her mom.
Abigail: Gabi said that she called off the wedding. Is she okay?
Daniel: She's, uh--she'll be fine.
Abigail: And what about Chad? I don't understand. They were so in love.
Daniel: Okay, uh, I'm gonna let Melanie tell you that part, 'cause all I can say is that I think she made the right decision.
Gabi: Uh, we're closed. Chad.
Chad: I'm gonna hurt you, Gabi, just like you hurt me.
Gabi: If you lay a hand on me, I will scream.
Chad: Well, as much as I would love to wring your neck, I have something a little different in mind.
Gabi: What are you talking about?
Chad: Well, let's see. Um, lost Melanie. She's gone. So, uh, do you see any reason for me to keep covering for you? Because, see, I don't, okay? I think it's time this whole town knew everything you did-- how you hired that creep to pretend to stalk you, how you set him up to kidnap Melanie, and how you kept your mouth shut even though you knew she could die.
Gabi: Please, Chad. Please don't do that.
Chad: There you go. The little girl voice and the quivering chin. That's--that's great. You really expect me to fall for that again? You did all of that. And now I'm gonna make you pay for it.
Sami: I know you love me. What I don't know is...
EJ: How you feel about me.
Sami: I just need time. I just want some time to figure it out, okay?
Rafe: Little late for coffee, isn't it? Might keep you up tonight.
EJ: What exactly is it that you want, Rafe? I will make sure that my brother does not give testimony to a grand jury, thereby keeping your sister out of prison for, ooh, the next, uh, 20 years or so.
EJ: If... if you give up Samantha to me.
Rafe: Been looking for you. I have something to say to you.
Bo: Hey, Billie. What are you doing here?
Billie: I was just visiting a client. What about you?
Bo: Oh, my favorite. Interviewing suspects.
Billie: You know, there's a couple things I miss, or I should say I don't miss about being a cop. Wearing a uniform and those crazy hours.
Bo: Yeah. They are crazy hours, huh? One of the reasons I'm thinking of pulling the plug.
Billie: What? Since when?
Bo: Ah, been in the back of my mind for quite some time now. Think I'm crazy?
Billie: I think it's one of the best things you could do.
EJ: I think you've hurt Samantha quite enough for one day, Rafe.
Rafe: I never wanted to hurt you. That's why I want to talk to you.
EJ: Do you really think that that is a good idea?
Sami: EJ, I, um... I'm interested in what he has to say.
Rafe: I acted like a jerk tonight. And I apologize.
Sami: But you meant what you said.
Rafe: I wish there was a way that we could work things out. I really do. But I just don't think that that's possible. And I hope you can find a way to accept my apology.
Bo: Now it's just wearing me down--getting hammered over and over again by creeps who don't play by the same rule book.
Billie: Like the DiMeras?
Bo: Yeah, among others. Used to get a lot of satisfaction from doing this job, but not so much anymore.
Billie: Well, why don't you tell them to take their job and shove it?
Bo: Should I sing the song too?
Billie: Yes! Let me remind you what you told me when I started countess W. You said that it was about time I followed my dream.
Gabi: Chad, look. I know that what I did was wrong, okay?
Chad: No. What you did was a crime.
Gabi: Melanie knows that I didn't want to hurt her.
Chad: No, you just didn't seem to mind that your pal Andrew had her locked in his basement, tied to a bed.
Gabi: That's not true.
Chad: You could have stopped her, but you didn't, which tells me that you were fine with it.
Gabi: Look, I've already explained it to you. Andrew went crazy, okay? And I was really scared. And honestly, I don't think that Melanie would want you to send me to prison.
Chad: Hmmm, Melanie's a sweet, compassionate person. Okay, me? Not so much. I mean, not where you're concerned. Now she was the best thing that ever happened to me, and she gave me back her ring. I lost her because of you.
Gabi: No, no. If you lost her, that was because you beat up Nick.
Chad: Well, after what Andrew put her through, she couldn't possibly go through one more thing. I mean, it all comes down to you, Gabi. Your lies, your jealousy, everything.
Gabi: You--who are you calling?
Chad: Who else do you call when there's a criminal on the loose?
Gabi: No, you can't--
Chad: Have you not heard a word I said? I don't have a life anymore, Gabi, because of you. Now I will make sure you lose everything too.
Nick: Sorry, DiMera. That's not the way this is gonna play out.
Abigail: I'm gonna go. I love this picture of my mom. She doesn't smile like that these days.
Daniel: I'm sorry.
Abigail: I'm glad that she went back to work. I think it's gonna be good for her to get out of the house, and it'll give her something else to think about besides Nicole.
Daniel: Yeah. Yeah, well, I've come to realize Nicole moving in was a bad idea.
Abigail: The worst idea.
Daniel: The worst? Wh--why? What happened here?
Abigail: I walked in and they were in this huge fight.
Daniel: Nicole's wearing out her welcome. Mmm.
Abigail: I think it was, um... I think it was about you.
Brady: Hey, ladies.
Jennifer: I'm telling you right now, butt out of this, Brady. I am sorry.
Brady: You do realize you're drawing a crowd here?
Jennifer: I don't care.
Nicole: Look, she's just having a really bad day. And why wouldn't she?
Caroline: Come on, honey. Let me take you home.
Brady: Yeah, let her take you home.
Jennifer: How do you do it? Nicole, tell me. Tell me how you do it.
Nicole: Do what?
Jennifer: How do you get such good, intelligent, kind men to do stupid things on your behalf?
Nicole: Oh, please. Brady's just being protective because he's my friend.
Jennifer: Are you kidding me? You know we're not talking about Brady! You are so selfish and cunning and evil, and if you think I'm gonna stand back and let you destroy a good man like Daniel, think again.
Daniel: Well, if you don't mind my asking, why do you feel that your mom and Nicole were arguing about me?
Abigail: Because when I walked in, Nicole was yelling at my mom and she said, "stay out of his life and stay out of mine." And then my mother called her a cheap, hateful tramp.
Abigail: Yeah. Nicole thinks that my mom's not doing so well after daddy.
Daniel: Nicole told you that?
Abigail: After my mom walked out.
Daniel: I need you to take care of your mom.
Abigail: She blows up a lot. Randomly. Little things. We both do.
Daniel: It makes sense after what you've gone through.
Daniel: Okay, but just so you know, I don't think your mom has anything to fear from Nicole.
Nicole: Jennifer, I told you. You're--you're imagining something that just isn't there.
Jennifer: No, I am not.
Brady: Why--listen. Why don't the two of you take this back to Jennifer's house, okay?
Nicole: Oh, I don't think that's a really good idea right now.
Caroline: I'll take you to the pub. If you're a good girl, I'll give you a shot of rum in your tea.
Jennifer: Caroline, please. I'm fine.
Brady: Caroline, I got this. I got this, okay?
Caroline: I hope. Oh, for--will you please give them some privacy? Come on. Come on.
Brady: Where are you parked?
Jennifer: I walked.
Brady: Okay, well, I'm gonna drive you home, all right?
Nicole: Okay, so I'll let you two talk. Jennifer could really use a friend...or something. Thank you for your hospitality. And again, I'm--I'm really sorry if I upset you.
Jennifer: Don't you touch me.
Chad: This is none of your business, Fallon, unless you want to tell your new friend here some tips on how to survive in prison.
Nick: You'll be needing those tips if you don't put that phone down.
Chad: The hell is that supposed to mean?
Nick: You rat Gabi out, I'm gonna tell them what you did to me. And Gabi won't be the only person they arrest.
Sami: I, um... accept your apology.
Rafe: Well, good. Maybe we can now move on... with no hard feelings.
EJ: I'm sure we can.
[Cell phone rings]
EJ: Um, Samantha, would you excuse me? [Clears throat]
Sami: Do you want to sit down?
Rafe: No. Surprised to see you here with EJ.
Sami: I don't owe you any explanations.
Rafe: Right. Yes. I just think that I was-- I was hard on your earlier. Too hard. See EJ take advantage of that.
Sami: [Scoffs] What exactly are you implying? Why are you doing this? Why are you--God! You're standing there pretending like you actually care about me when you made it really clear earlier that the-- are you torturing me? Are you doing this on purpose to hurt me? 'Cause this doesn't seem like a good time for me right now.
Rafe: [Sighs] No. No, I'm just--no.
Sami: Rafe, what is going on? Why are you doing this? Why are you acting like this?
Chad: I don't think any cop is gonna look at what I did to you and what Gabi did to Melanie and think they are the same thing.
Nick: Andrew's dead. There's no way to connect him to Gabi.
Chad: Hmm, what about my statement?
Nick: Your statement?
Nick: Once I show them what you did to me and Gabi says she saw it happen and Dr. Johnson shows them the photos she took of my face, your statement is gonna look like an attempt at witness intimidation. And they'll love putting a DiMera away. So will the public.
Chad: So... looks like I keep my mouth shut... while Gabi doesn't pay for anything.
Nick: She'll pay. Just not in the way you want.
Chad: Good luck trying to live with yourself. Stay away from me.
Nick: We're not done.
Chad: [Chuckles] What?
Nick: I want it in writing.
Chad: Oh, whatever, man.
Nick: And in front of a lawyer tonight.
Chad: Where are you gonna find a lawyer at this time of night?
Nick: I happen to live in a house with Justin Kiriakis. Let's do this now.
Chad: How's it going?
Bo: Everything okay here?
Chad: Uh, yeah. Everything's fine. Nick and I were just, uh-- we're about to take off, right?
Nick: Uh, it's--it's not a big deal.
Bo: All right. Nick, please stay out of trouble.
Nick: Don't worry about me. I, um, I got this under control.
Gabi: Um, thank you.
Nick: You're welcome.
Brady: Thank you.
Jennifer: Thank you for giving me a ride home. That was, um, very gallant of you.
Brady: "Gallant"? Yeah, that's me.
Jennifer: Oh, I can't believe I let Nicole get under my skin like that.
Brady: And I can't believe you blew up like that, Jennifer.
Jennifer: Brady, come on. I do not have my full set of defenses these days.
Brady: [Sighs] I do. All you gotta do is handle everything as if it doesn't exist.
Jennifer: Right. Come on in.
Brady: All right.
Jennifer: [Heavy sigh] Uh-oh.
Jennifer: These. These are Nicole's, uh... prenatal vitamins. Do you think that--would you mind bringing these to her? I think that she's at--at Daniel's.
Brady: Uh, sure. But can't she just get some more of those?
Jennifer: Okay, Brady, maybe I do have an ulterior motive. But can you just go over there and make sure she's not trying to pull some number on Daniel, please?
Brady: Jennifer, look. I mean, Daniel, he's an adult.
Jennifer: No, I know he is. But you don't understand. She is trying to ruin his life. I'm telling you.
Brady: How is that?
Abigail: Hi, Mom.
Jennifer: Hi, honey.
Abigail: Hey. What's Brady doing here?
Jennifer: Well, I ran into him. He was nice enough to give me a ride home, honey.
Brady: Yeah. Uh, it's good to see you.
Abigail: Yeah, sorry. It's good to see you too.
Jennifer: Thank you.
Brady: You're welcome.
Abigail: Mom, what happened?
Jennifer: Oh, sweetie... it has been just a really, really rotten night.
Nicole: It was just horrible. I mean, Jennifer was completely out of control and I was scared. I was so scared that she was gonna blurt out that the baby's EJ's.
Daniel: No, she wouldn't do that, not in public.
Nicole: Well, I don't know what she would have done. I mean, yesterday morning, I woke up and she was gunning for me. She was yelling at me that EJ is the father and that I'm making you help me cover this up.
Daniel: Okay, you know, I think I'm to blame for what happened tonight.
Daniel: Well, she and I had a very unpleasant conversation today.
Nicole: About what?
Daniel: Yeah, you know what? Really doesn't matter, but I'm convinced she doesn't know anything, not for sure. And without absolute proof, she'd never say anything.
Nicole: Well, um, I would agree with you if Jennifer was her old self, but she's not. I'm worried. I'm worried about her mental state, and after losing Jack, I don't think she's ever gonna be the same. I just hope she doesn't start talking to the walls like her mother did.
Daniel: Okay, you know what? She's a very, very strong person, and she has two kids.
Nicole: Oh, but I can't-- I can't take it anymore. I can't spend one more night in that house. And, Daniel, I know you're not crazy about the idea, but... can I please, please just stay here until the baby's born?
Rafe: I know. I've been sending you a lot of mixed signals lately, and I'm not gonna do it anymore. And I'm also gonna try not to tell you how to act with EJ... even though I can't stand his guts.
Sami: Okay. Thank you. Whether you believe it or not, he's changed. Will agrees with me.
Rafe: Well... I don't believe it.
EJ: I'm assuming you kept to the terms of our deal.
Rafe: Go to hell.
Caroline: What are you doing here?
Bo: Well, hey, ma, I came to talk to you.
Caroline: Well, well, well, well, well. Will wonders ever cease?
Bo: Hey, hey, don't start. Something wrong?
Caroline: Mmm, got a headache. The traffic on Jackson street. Murder.
Bo: What the heck were you doing way over on Jackson street coming back here?
Caroline: [Laughing] Well, I made a couple wrong turns.
Bo: Oh, you been driving these streets all your life. Everything okay?
Caroline: Yeah, I was just a little preoccupied. What did you want to talk to me about?
Bo: Whether or not I should take my pension.
Caroline: Hope it's still there.
Caroline: The state is having budget problems.
Bo: Yeah, tell me about it.
Caroline: And I'm the one who encouraged you to do this. You'd spend more time with hope and Ciara. Maybe go visit Shawn d?
Bo: And I've been thinking about all that. And I've got this-- I've got this idea how I could work things out. And it may be a little bit crazy.
Caroline: Well, if it's crazy, then it's probably right.
Jennifer: Nicole and I got into another really, really big fight.
Abigail: How big?
Jennifer: Well, she's moving out. Thank God.
Abigail: Was this about Daniel again?
Jennifer: Sweetie, you-- you don't understand what she is trying to do. She is ruining his career. She--she is ruining his life.
Abigail: But you still aren't gonna tell me what it is, right?
Jennifer: [ I mean, mom, isn't this kind of Daniel's problem?
Jennifer: You know what, honey? He saved my life. But at least she's gone.
Abigail: Yeah. I mean, at least she's gone. So, why are you still so upset?
Jennifer: I don't-- because I feel like I just helped her get exactly what she wants.
Daniel: Okay. Okay, you can stay here tonight, but tomorrow we start looking for another place.
Daniel: Yeah, a place that's more permanent, and a place you can be safe. From EJ.
Nicole: Actually, I had an idea about that, I--
[Knock at door]
Daniel: Oh, Brady, hey. Come on in, man.
Nicole: Hey, what are you doing here?
Brady: You, uh, left these at Jennifer's.
Nicole: Thanks. And thank you for stepping in. Clearly, Jennifer's having a bad day. [Laughs]
Brady: Yeah, lately she hasn't had any good ones. Do you mind if I talk to Daniel privately for a minute?
Nicole: Oh, um...of course. I'm--I'm exhausted anyway. Wh--where's the guest bedroom?
Daniel: Right there.
Nicole: Right. Night, fellahs.
Brady: Good night.
Daniel: All right. So, what? What do you want to talk about?
Brady: What do I want to talk about? How about Jennifer?
[Refrigerator door slams]
Rafe: I know, all right? It happened again. Another sister of mine's in a great big mess, and I had no clue. Now EJ is using Gabi to get what he wants in the same way that he used you. I promise you, I am not gonna let... not gonna make that same mistake again.
[Glass smacks down]
Rafe: And there's no way that I'm letting EJ or his brother send her to prison. Even if it means ending things with Sami.
EJ: Hi, what are you doing here? I thought you were supposed to go home and take it easy.
Chad: Yeah, that was the plan. And then some stuff happened.
EJ: What sort of stuff?
Chad: It's over. Man, it's all over.
Sami: Yeah, well, let's go inside. How about that? You know, you could talk?
EJ: Well, no, maybe Chad wants to talk about this privately. Chad?
Chad: I'd love that.
Sami: Come on in, yeah. Um, my kids are with my mom. So we have plenty of time to talk. I'll just call her and make sure.
EJ: Okay, so what do mean by "all over," exactly?
Chad: I went home and there was a letter from Melanie. She gave me back her ring. Man, it's all over.
EJ: Okay, but I told you, I would help you with--
Chad: There's nothing you can do, okay? She's already on a plane back to Spain to be with her mom.
EJ: Okay, then when she gets back from Spain--
Chad: Wait, are you not listening to me? She's not coming back, okay? I've lost her. And--and it gets even better, because Gabi's gonna get away with everything.
Bo: So you're sure you're okay with all this?
Caroline: I trust you... to make the right decision.
Bo: Thanks. You know, police work...wasn't really my first choice, but I got to work with hope, provide for my family, and, with luck, do something that would make my kids proud of me.
Caroline: But if it's not working for you, you know... your father said, "it's...not necessarily the best of life to know exactly what's going to come next." It's good to be a little scared.
Caroline: If you were scared, then...you have a reason to be brave.
Bo: No guts, no glory.
Caroline: Hmm. I always did admire your sense of adventure.
Bo: What are you talking about? You've always hated my sense of adventure.
Caroline: Wash your mouth.
Nick: Chad and I both made sworn statements to Justin. And, you know, I'll never tell anyone about what he did to me, and he can't go public with... your role in Melanie's kidnapping.
Gabi: Yeah, I mean, look. I know--I know that I-I deserve whatever I get for what I did, but, I mean, prison?
Nick: You wouldn't survive in there.
Gabi: I know. My sister...look, my sister was framed. Her drug dealer boyfriend set her up, and she said that she almost died. Nick, thank you so much.
Nick: No problem.
Gabi: I wonder though, I mean...why'd you go through all this trouble for me?
Nick: Because it was the right thing to do. You know, Chad doesn't know this yet, but, uh, it would have been bad for him, if he had done that to you.
Gabi: I don't think he'll ever know that.
Nick: And I also did it, because, um...I-I thought we were friends.
Gabi: We are, yes. Yeah, we are. It's just, I mean, what you did was a little above and beyond.
Nick: Well, maybe, how I feel about you is a little...above and beyond.
Will: Wow, I missed this place. [Clucks his tongue] I'll never forget that day that you just kind of sprung it on us, you know. You had it all set up. Not just for mom, but for all of us, I guess.
Rafe: Yeah. That was...seems like a lifetime ago.
Will: Yep. She said you had a date. Which, apparently, didn't go well.
Rafe: Yeah, well, uh... I guess too much has happened.
Will: Yeah. You know, I told her not to give up on you. [Clears throat]
Will: I mean, was I wrong?
Rafe: Nah. We're you wrong? No. Driving home every day, knowing that your mom was gonna be here waiting for me, and... you kids here, making all that damn racket. Yeah.
Rafe: Those were some of the best days of my life. But... guess it was like catching lightning in a bottle. I don't know. Just don't think it's gonna work out for us.
Will: Are you sure? I mean, to me, you guys seem really happy.
Rafe: Yeah, well, I said, I don't think it's gonna work out, didn't I?
EJ: How is it that you seem to be so sure that Gabi's going to go unpunished?
Chad: Well, because tonight I...
Chad: Kind of--
Sami: My mom's place is still standing. So, do you want me to make a sandwich or something?
EJ: Actually, I thought we might go and get some, uh, fresh air.
Chad: I'm--I'm fine, thank you. Um... but maybe I--maybe a walk would be good, so.
Sami: Yeah, okay. Let's go.
EJ: Well, no, actually, you should stay here, Samantha.
Sami: Well, I think Chad wants to, you know, talk to both of us.
EJ: I--you know, it's a-- it's a boy thing. You know? And you've had a really long, difficult day. So, why don't you stay here. And, uh, you let me take care of it.
Sami: All right.
Sami: Be good to your brother.
EJ: I'll call you tomorrow.
Brady: Look, Jennifer thinks that Nicole has you mixed up in something that's gonna hurt you.
Daniel: Okay, that's not your concern, or Jennifer's.
Brady: I understand, but she's not gonna back off, I'm telling you. Okay, she says it's because you're her friend. But I think there's feelings going on here that go way beyond friendship, huh?
Daniel: Yeah? Well, did she say something?
Brady: No, but...I'm pretty sure she was in love with you before Jack came home.
Daniel: Really? What am I gonna do with that?
Brady: Nothing, I guess.
Daniel: All right, good. Because, you know, she's not ready. She's not ready to be with someone new. And neither am I.
Brady: You told me, when Madison died, you gave me some really good advice. I'm just trying to return the favor.
Daniel: Yeah, how, exactly? How?
Brady: Be careful.
Brady: Nicole. Be careful. Look, I know you want to stand by her. She's having a baby all alone. I get that. But if you think there's some potential with you and Jennifer down the road...you need to be careful how deep you get into it with her, because she is not a girl that likes to come in second, okay?
Daniel: You know, Nicole and I, we have an understanding. All right, she and that baby, they need me. And I'm not walking away, all right?
Brady: And what about Jennifer? What are you gonna do about that?
Daniel: She drives me nuts.
Daniel: And I love her. I think a part of me always will.
Nick: [Sighs] I hope that wasn't out of line.
Gabi: No. No, that was...really nice. You're--you're a really good kisser.
Gabi: Um, okay, so I will-- I'll see you tomorrow at work.
Nick: Yeah. I'll see you then.
Jennifer: You want to know the weirdest thing about this situation? Is the person I want to talk to this whole situation about is your dad.
Abigail: You think he'd know what to do?
Jennifer: Even if he didn't, he'd pretend.
Abigail: That's true.
Jennifer: And that just sounds--sounds really good right now.
Abigail: Mom, it's okay to care about Daniel and what happens to him. He saved your life. You're not being disloyal to dad.
Jennifer: I'm not?
Abigail: No. Daniel is a good guy. Even dad knew that. And if Nicole is doing something to screw up his life, then I think you should do whatever it takes to stop her.
Brady: You're still in love with Jennifer, aren't you?
Daniel: It would be a lot simpler if I wasn't.
Brady: Daniel, you're gonna need to take a step back from Nicole here.
Daniel: Oh, no, I can't. She has got a real life stuff to deal with. And as long as she and the baby need me...I am in.
Rafe: Sorry about that. I didn't mean to--
Will: No, that's all right. That's none of my business.
Rafe: Well, it's kind of your business. Will, you're not a kid anymore. Listen, I think the best thing for you to do is just to accept that your mom and I are... it's not gonna work out.
Will: Okay. I mean, if that's what you want.
Rafe: What I want?
Rafe: What I want. I'll tell you what I want. I want your mom to see EJ for the man he really is. I know that you both think that he's changed, but trust me... he hasn't.
EJ: Let me get this straight. You signed a legal document in which you agree not to press any charges against Gabi, and you did this without calling me?
Chad: Like you could stop Nick from turning me in?
EJ: We don't have any threat to her freedom anymore, you idiot! We have nothing to bargain with!
Chad: Well, what are we bargaining for, EJ, exactly?
EJ: I told you, okay, not to do anything without consulting with me. All right? Nothing!
Chad: Why are you going off on me, huh? You're the one who told me not to do anything to Gabi first.
EJ: Not to do anything to Gabi now. Anything now, understand?
Chad: Look, Melanie has left me, okay? What difference does it make? Huh?
EJ: All right. Okay. Do this. Go home. And don't do anything. You understand me? Nothing.
Chad: What is with you?
EJ: Do me a favor. Keep your mouth shut. Don't say anything about what happened to Gabi. You understand me? Don't say...anything.
