Sami: Good night.
Rafe: Night. Well, night.
Sami: [Laughs] Good night. [Sighs]
EJ: Who's your mystery date?
Rafe: [Whispers] Samantha is my date tonight.
EJ: EJ DiMera. No, you heard it correctly. It's very simple. I need you to, uh, liquidate my positions and transfer the cash into my portfolio so that I can invest it. Stefano has no authority over those funds. Did you not read the list of companies and--and properties that I sent you? No, keep the DiMera name on the accounts. It's my name, it's my family, and I'll define it as I wish to. Understood? Fine. You have any questions, you come to me.
[Door clicks open]
Maggie: Hi, honey. Mmm. Well, you look like you got some sleep.
Melanie: Yeah, I did. How's Nick?
Maggie: Um, better. [Chuckles] I think he'll go to work later today.
Melanie: Oh, good.
Maggie: Have you heard from Chad?
Melanie: Um, I unplugged the house phone. And I left my cell phone at his apartment. I feel kind of bad about that.
Maggie: Don't. You deserve some space.
Melanie: Yeah. I don't even know where I stand with Chad anymore.
Chad: Dr. Jonas. How's--how's Melanie? Uh--
Daniel: What do you think?
Daniel: You beat Nick Fallon so bad, he ended up at the hospital. What in the hell were you thinking?
[Banging at door]
Rafe: All right, all right.
Gabi: Oh, my god, I'm so glad that you're home.
Rafe: What? What's wrong?
Gabi: I'm in really big trouble.
Roman: So, Bo...
Roman: You do know I would love to give you as much time as you need to decide what to do about the job.
Bo: Thanks, commissioner.
Roman: Well, that was your brother talking, actually. The police commissioner needs an answer A.S.A.P.
Hope: And how long is A.S.A.P. In this case?
Roman: Next week.
Bo: Okay. That's fair. I will let you know next week if I'm gonna resign or not.
Maggie: Melanie, you don't have to decide anything today. Marriage is a big step.
Melanie: Yeah, I know. I know, you and dad were right about that.
Maggie: We just wanted you to be sure.
Melanie: [Exhales slowly] Right. You're great, though, for not saying, "I told you so."
Maggie: [Laughs] It's because we didn't. Of course, we didn't foresee this situation.
Melanie: I still should've listened.
Maggie: [Sighs] Well, you listened to your instincts, and that's what you're doing right now. 'Cause you--you have to live with your decisions, honey. And don't do anything just to make someone else happy.
Melanie: Even really great someones like you and dad?
Maggie: Even us. So how 'bout I get rid of some of this wedding stuff for you, okay?
Daniel: Well, if you thought Nick did something with Melanie, why didn't you just call the Salem P.D.?
Chad: Th--there wasn't any time.
Daniel: No, you should've made time. You didn't think, Chad. You just reacted.
Chad: And you wouldn't? I mean, come on. Wouldn't you do anything to protect Melanie?
Daniel: Yeah, but that's not what you did. You didn't protect her. You flew into a rage, and you beat an innocent guy to a bloody pulp.
Chad: Look, Nick is not innocent.
Daniel: You could have killed him.
Gabi: Okay, is it too early? Because I'm sorry if it's early. I was--I was actually gonna come at 5:00 in the morning, and I--
Rafe: Okay, Gabi, slow down. Okay? Just slow it down.
Gabi: Okay, you know, I was checking my clock every 15 minutes because I haven't been able to sleep, and I wanted to--
Rafe: Okay, hold on. Just-- why couldn't you sleep, okay? Why? Talk to me.
Gabi: It's Andrew.
Rafe: Oh, sis, sis. Come here. Don't worry about Andrew, okay? It's all right. Andrew's gone. Look, he's not gonna stalk you anymore. He's not gonna hurt Melanie. He's gone. Understand?
Gabi: Yeah, he never did. I mean, yes, he--he kidnapped Melanie, but--but, um...
Rafe: What are you--what are you talking about? He never did?
Gabi: Rafe, um... Andrew was never a stalker. I paid him.
Maggie: So do you want me to take these back to the house until you decide?
Melanie: Just return it.
Maggie: You sure?
Melanie: Yeah. Whatever happens, I'm gonna want a fresh start anyway.
Maggie: Okay. Um, I'll put this in the car and--and, uh, I'll go down to the square and get you one of those soy concoctions that-- from the coffee house, I guess.
Melanie: Right, well, that sounds good. Thank you.
Maggie: All right, is there anything in this beautiful kitchen that you can make for breakfast?
Melanie: In the fridge? Uh, mustard...
Melanie: Wilted lettuce and a gray apple.
Maggie: Oh, wow.
Melanie: I'm gonna order us some breakfast.
Maggie: Well, now, that sounds good.
Melanie: And it'll be here by the time you get back.
Maggie: Okay. Melanie, um... I'm not gonna call. So don't feel the-- the need to, uh, pick up the phone, unless you want to speak to Chad. You know he's not gonna give up.
Melanie: I know.
Maggie: Do what's best for you, okay?
Chad: I wouldn't have killed Nick, okay? I know that that is not who I am.
Daniel: Gabi stopped you. We may never know now, will we?
Chad: Look, haven't you ever had to--had to fight to keep someone safe? I mean, it happens. Sometimes in order to-- to protect the one you love, you have to fight.
Daniel: Yeah, but that's not what happened yesterday. Do you hear how unbalanced you sound right now?
Chad: I-I don't think I'm-- I'm making myself understood. I--so I'm frustrated, okay? That--that's what you are hearing in my voice.
Daniel: Mmm, I don't think so.
Chad: I-I feel like the f-- the future I have with Melanie is sitting right here between us.
Daniel: You know what? I wish it were, because right now, that'd be an easy decision.
Chad: Did Melanie tell you she wants to postpone the wedding?
Chad: Well, I bet you and Mrs. Kiriakis are happy about that.
Daniel: You know what? It's Melanie's decision, but yeah, the wedding? We thought the wedding was a little too rushed.
Chad: Look--okay, look. We--we were ready, okay? I-I love her.
Daniel: I'm sure you think you do.
Chad: It's true.
Daniel: Is it? If it's true--if you really love my daughter, then you will stay away from her, and you will get some professional help.
Chad: Wait a minute. Y-you think I'm sick?
Daniel: Because the anger that you unleashed yesterday is not a one-time deal. You need to check yourself. Look, I know your adopted father was not a walk in the park. And I know the DiMeras are not the greatest role models...
Daniel: In this department.
Chad: Look, it's not like that.
Daniel: Chad, you need to decide who you want to be. And until you do, you need to stay away from my daughter. Because she's been through a lot, and you know that. Now, if you love her, if you truly love her, you will not put my daughter at risk.
Chad: I am not a risk. God, Daniel, this--this is getting out of control, okay? Look, I know I messed up, okay? But I would never do anything to hurt Melanie. I-I'm gonna make this up to her, I promise you.
Daniel: Okay, forget about all that. Melanie has family. She has me. I will take care of her. You need to take care of you. And you need to leave her alone. Can you do that?
Chad: I'm sorry, but I can't just walk away.
Gabi: I thought for, like, a minute... I thought, "okay, everything is gonna be okay." But the truth is that I wake up every day... and I know that the reason that Melanie got kidnapped was because of me, and the reason she nearly died was because of me.
Gabi: Your face...
Gabi: Say something.
Rafe: [Scoffs] What do you want me to say?
Gabi: I know. I know that I did horrible things, and I hurt people. And I thought that that was the worst part until this minute. You can't even look at me. You hate me so much, you can't even stand to look at me right now.
Sami: Oh, my god. If I don't focus on work, Kate will be right, and that is reason alone to-- all right, so Rafe goes to get coffee about now. If I happen to run into him between here and the coffee shop-- oh, my god, I am such a stalker. [Sighs] But, hmm, wouldn't be the first time.
[Knock at door]
Sami: Hey! [Laughs] How about that? You totally saved me from--
EJ: Oh, I'm always happy to save you. On your way out?
Sami: Yes, I was, um, leaving. You know, business.
EJ: Without your laptop? This is about Rafe, isn't it?
Sami: No. Okay, fine. But it's not like I'm planning something.
EJ: You don't have to lie to me, Samantha. I know you had a date with him last night.
Sami: I didn't say anything about lying.
EJ: [Laughs] You always lie. I mean, that's a given. The question is, how did it work out for you? When it comes to getting my family to eat breakfast,
Roman: See you later.
Bo: Later, bro.
Roman: Take care.
Hope: Tick-tock, tick-tock.
Bo: Uh, yeah.
Hope: Guess the clock is ticking.
Hope: So? What do you want to do?
Bo: Everything. I want to go, I want to stay, I want to take Ciara to that pumpkin patch thing. I want to nail the, uh, south street carjacking gang. I want to put DiMera away for everything that he's done. And then I want to be an astronaut.
Hope: [Clears throat] Of course.
Hope: But what do you want to do next week?
Bo: Oh, yeah, there is that.
Hope: Yeah. Ooh. All right, I have to get to the school. I have to be there in ten.
Hope: But, um, I am free by lunch, if you want to do a drive-along.
Bo: That sounds sexy.
Hope: It can be. Very sexy.
Bo: [Chuckles] You know, I've had this, um, idea rattling around in my head.
Bo: I want to discuss it with you once, you know, I get everything kind of nailed down.
Hope: Mm-hmm. I'll be waiting.
Hope: You'll figure it all out.
Bo: Uh, yeah.
Hope: You always do. Later, Brady.
Hope: Oh. The phone.
Hope: See you later. Love you.
Caroline: Any, uh, life-changing decisions you'd like to share with me? [Laughs]
Bo: Uh, Roman ratted me out, huh?
Caroline: No, Bo, I still got ears, you know. Come on. Come on, Bo. Tell your ma about it.
Daniel: If you don't get help with your anger and give my daughter some breathing room, you will have to deal with me. Take care of yourself.
Chad: W-wait. Hold on. Listen, um... Melanie's phone. She's gonna need it.
Daniel: Yeah? How many messages from you?
Daniel: That's enough. That is enough. I will give this to her, and she will decide.
Chad: [Sighs and sniffs] [Grunts] I've gotta make this right.
Rafe: Gabi--Gabi, just hold on a se-- hey, listen, listen. Would you stop? Listen to me. Listen. Hey. You're my sister. You're my sister, and I love you no matter what. Okay?
Gabi: Yeah, but look, you don't know how scary it is.
Rafe: Yeah, well...[Scoffs] I'm thinking. You know? And I'm-- [Exhales sharply] This is a lot to take in at once, you know? And I'm--and I'm trying to plan the next move, and... [Laughs] I'm a little--I mean, you-- you did this all over Chad?
Gabi: I know, I know. How stupid can I be? I mean, I know, it sounds so stupid. You know what? You know what, Rafe? You know what the worst part is? The worst part is, I could hear Ari in my mind. I could hear her chewing me out, telling me, "it doesn't matter how lonely you are. You never give a piece of yourself up for any guy, because it's not worth it." She was so strong, and I don't--
Rafe: No, she wasn't always strong. She made mistakes too. I'll tell you one thing. She definitely would've been chewing you out for this.
Gabi: I just wish she was here. [Sobs quietly]
Rafe: Me too.
Gabi: Okay. [Inhales]
Rafe: Okay. All right.
Gabi: I did what I did, okay?
Rafe: Yeah, you did.
Gabi: I get it. No excuses. And now I have to pay the consequences, right?
Rafe: Yeah, you--you do.
Rafe: And you will, okay?
Rafe: It's gonna be okay. I have faith in you, and I'm glad that you brought this to me, okay? So it'll be okay.
Gabi: Yeah, well, I just didn't want you to be surprised when I walked into the police station.
Gabi: Um, actually... I want you to go with me so I can turn myself in.
Rafe: No, no, no, no. No. Uh, no, that is not happening. I'm not letting you do that.
[Key rattling at door]
Melanie: I thought you had to work.
Daniel: No, I, uh, have a later shift. So how'd you sleep?
Daniel: See, that's what you tell your grandmother. But now you're talking to me.
Melanie: Right. I kept my eyes closed. I have a lot to think about.
Daniel: Yes, you do. You do, and I want you to get every chance to do that with a clear head. So I paid Chad a visit this morning.
Nick: You should go.
Chad: I will. Okay? I just, uh-- I just wanted to say that I-- I know I-I messed up. And I am so sorry.
EJ: So if it's children first, job second, what does that make Rafe? Is he a child, or is he a job?
Sami: You're mad.
EJ: [Chuckles] No. Actually, uh, I'm not mad. I just don't quite understand why you felt the need to lie to me.
Sami: I didn't lie. I mean, I didn't mean to lie. I didn't plan on dating Rafe. It just happened.
EJ: Okay, so how did that work out for you?
Sami: Okay. I'll be honest.
EJ: I think you just were.
Sami: Something did happen. Do you have a rolling pin?
Bo: Yeah, I know it sounds crazy to even think about giving up a job where I have seniority, a steady paycheck-- especially in this economy.
Caroline: Well, there are some people who would think that anytime.
Bo: But, ma, I j-- I need a new challenge.
Caroline: I said some people. One of them is not me.
Caroline: No. You've got to have a challenge. I mean, if you don't keep your blood going, you know, you-- you rot.
Bo: You sound like pop.
Bo: Yeah, I-I just think if I, um--if I do leave the force, I might have a chance to...
Bo: I don't know, accomplish something that's worthwhile. And really, it's--it's not gonna bother you if I leave the force?
Caroline: It's gonna be a relief to me.
Bo: Uh, how so?
Caroline: Having one less son in the force means having one less son to worry about.
Caroline: But I think Bo is gonna miss his little brother.
Bo: You mean Roman?
Caroline: Yes, Roman. He will miss you, although he likes to act tough. He'll be sorry to see you go. But hope and Ciara will be happy to see you follow your dream.
Rafe: Listen, you made some big mistakes, but that does not mean that you should go to prison.
Gabi: Rafe, did you not hear me? I--Melanie nearly died because of me.
Rafe: Did you tell Andrew to kidnap her?
Rafe: Okay. Did you ever hint to Andrew that you wanted her to disappear?
Rafe: Did you tell Andrew to hurt her?
Gabi: Of course not, but he did those things all on his own.
Rafe: Well, yeah, because he was a sicko. Okay? He--he probably would have fixated on her if he would've seen Melanie at one of your photo shoots.
Gabi: Maybe. I don't--
Rafe: Sis, listen to me. You are not responsible for most of the things that he did. Okay? Now, what did you do when you found out that he'd taken Melanie?
Gabi: Uh, well, I asked him to let her go.
Gabi: And--and then I went back to his house to check if he had let her go, and when I got there, he'd taken off with Melanie.
Rafe: So then you followed them into the tunnels.
Gabi: Yeah, but, Rafe, none of that is important, because I didn't go to the police first, all right? I didn't tell them what-- what I knew, that he had Melanie, all right? And if I would've told them, then maybe none of this bad stuff would've happened. Look, I messed up, okay? And there's no way around it.
Melanie: How is Chad?
Daniel: Well, he's, um-- he's sorry. I asked him to give you some time to think, to breathe. Is that okay?
Melanie: Yeah, that's fair.
Daniel: Okay. Well, I'll make some breakfast. So what color is the apple now?
Daniel: Okay, good.
Melanie: No, but you don't have to--just get out.
Daniel: Uh, you're not the boss of me.
Melanie: [Laughing] No, no. Um, I love that you want to take care of me, but I'm just up to here with people that are concerned for me, and I just kind of want to be alone for a little bit.
Daniel: Oh, I get it. I get it, trust me.
Daniel: But are you sure?
Melanie: Uh, yes, I'm sure.
Daniel: All right. You promise to check in?
Melanie: I don't have my cell phone.
Daniel: That's because I do. Yeah. Chad asked me to, um, give this to you.
Melanie: Are there, uh, messages on it?
Daniel: Uh, just a few, yeah. But if you give me your code, I can delete them and--
Melanie: Dad. Dad.
Daniel: Going to the gym.
Melanie: Thank you. Um, dad?
Daniel: Hmm? Oh. Whatever you need, baby.
Chad: You don't want to let me off the hook. That's--that's fine. Okay, I get that. I mean, I wouldn't either. But put yourself in my shoes, man. I mean, come on. You had her scarf. You wouldn't tell me where she was.
Nick: I didn't know.
Chad: L-look. Okay. I get that now. But it's not like there wasn't history there. And I-I snapped. And I should've laid off. I mean, maybe if Gabi hadn't jumped in the middle, I would've. But--but her defending you, it made it worse.
Nick: You're gonna blame Gabi for this?
Chad: You know what? There are some things that you don't know about there, okay?
Nick: You're just looking for any excuse, man, aren't you?
Chad: Look, I'm--I'm here. Okay? And I'm trying. But you gotta meet me halfway.
Nick: Oh, yeah? What's halfway between you and me? Half crazy?
Chad: You're gonna milk this, aren't you? Okay, trying to get sympathy from everybody.
Nick: You know what, Chad? I-I would be happy if I didn't have to tell a soul. I don't want Melanie hurt, and the fact that you're here tells me she is.
Chad: Don't talk about Mel--
Nick: We were okay. Melanie was finally okay with everything after we spoke. I'm not your problem, Chad. And I won't be.
Chad: So is that your halfway?
Nick: You stay away from me. I'll stay away from you. Let's leave it at that.
[Door clicks open]
Sami: EJ, I'm trying to do the right thing here.
EJ: For whom?
EJ: Wow, my goodness. That is a tough crowd to please. Might want to think about narrowing the field a tiny bit.
Sami: Ha. Please stop being so smart. This isn't easy.
Sami: EJ, you and I both know there is something here, and there always has been. There probably always will be, but...
EJ: There are so many ways to finish that sentence, aren't there?
Sami: But with Rafe, it's different. We went out to dinner last night. It s-- it seemed like old times, you know? I mean, he's the same man that I married, the same man I fell in love with.
EJ: Yeah, he's steady and sturdy.
Sami: Oh, stop it.
EJ: Don't be so naive, Samantha. Come on, please. It's not black and white, my dear. It's not like he's the good guy and I'm the bad guy.
Sami: I didn't say it was.
EJ: I have news for you, my dear. Rafe is not the same man that you fell in love with back then.
Sami: Okay. What is that supposed to mean-- Rafe isn't the man I fell in love with?
Rafe: You mean aside from fathering a child with a woman that you despise?
Sami: Yeah, besides that.
EJ: That wasn't enough? That--that didn't make you think twice?
Sami: Everybody makes mistakes. I know that better than most.
Sami: All right, EJ, what else you got?
EJ: Darling, your man has feet of clay, just like everybody else. You're so generous in thinking you can live with his mistakes. My concern is whether or not you can live with his judgment.
Sami: Excuse me?
EJ: Because he's never going to forgive you for what you and I did.
Sami: Disagree. The fact that he bothered to go to dinner proves that.
EJ: Samantha, you know as well as I do how much he likes rubbing it in. How much do you think he enjoys reminding you of how much you hurt him? He's gonna bring you in close. And just at the point at which you think you've been completely forgiven, pfft! He's going to pull the rug out from under you, my dear.
Sami: See, EJ? Exactly. That is something Rafe would never do. He came back.
EJ: Came back. Of course he came back. We all come back, my dear, like moths to the flame.
Sami: And then you always get burned, is that it?
EJ: Here's the difference. Me? I like the heat. And I don't expect you to be anybody else. I want you... for who you are. Rafe, on the other hand, is never going to truly forgive you or trust you ever again.
Rafe: I love you. You're not alone.
Rafe: Say it.
Gabi: I'm not alone.
Rafe: Okay. Okay, see? Just like that.
Gabi: It's not your fault. I did it.
Rafe: No, no, no, hey. We're gonna fix it, okay?
Rafe: All right, well, the first thing I'm gonna do, I'm gonna get you a good lawyer. Now, you don't say anything to anyone until--
Gabi: Well, I told Melanie last night, and Chad knows about it too.
Rafe: How does he--what?
Gabi: Because he was there when Andrew died, and he heard him, so I had to tell him, and then I-I had to tell Melanie. I couldn't stand it.
Rafe: Okay, okay, okay. It's done. Don't say anything to anyone else, all right? I gotta go. Lock up, all right?
Gabi: Oh, Rafe, there's--
[Knock at door]
Melanie: [Sighs] I hope you have change for a--
Chad: Five minutes. Then if you want, I promise I'll go. [Clears throat] Are you, um--how are--
Melanie: I'm fine. I'm sure my dad told you that, though.
Chad: Yeah. Um, I went to, uh, see Nick, and I, uh--I apologized.
Chad: And I'm--I'm not entirely sure if he accepted it, but, uh, look. I-I am truly sorry, okay? I'm--I messed up. And I get that.
Chad: How what?
Melanie: How did you mess up?
Chad: Well, I shouldn't have gone after Nick the way I did.
Melanie: That was yesterday.
Chad: Okay, um, I'm assuming you're talking about the stuff with Gabi and--
Melanie: You tried to control that whole situation. Do you think I'm not capable of handling my own life?
Chad: Mel, with all due respect, I don't think anyone could handle what you went through.
Melanie: Sure they can. People go through horrible things all the time. I have.
Chad: Okay, okay, I-I know. Okay, but look. What I'm trying to say is--is, would you want Gabi in your life after what she did to you?
Melanie: You asked me that last night. My answer is still no. I don't think she should go to jail. She didn't mean for me to get hurt the way I did. But she was-- [Choking up] She was fine with taking you away from me. And that's not a friend.
Chad: Okay. Then I did what you wanted. I kept her away.
Melanie: No. We talked about this already.
Chad: Mel, do you believe I love you? Good. Do you believe-- and I know you hate the word-- but do you believe that I was trying to protect you? Does that matter at all?
Melanie: More than you know.
Chad: Okay. Then--then we still have a chance. Right?
Bo and hope: Hey.
Bo: Got your text.
Hope: The helicopter moms at the school, they haven't even signed up for the trip.
Bo: So, what? You got a free couple hours, huh?
Hope: Mm, yeah. If you want to do a ride-along.
Bo: Now that is something I'm gonna miss.
Hope: You sound... like you've decided something.
Bo: [Groans] Ma overheard Roman, and so we had a little chat.
Hope: Let me guess. You can't leave fast enough for her.
Bo: I didn't know it bugged her so much having both of us on the force.
Hope: Well, Brady, she would never say anything, just like Roman won't tell you how much he wants you to stay.
Bo: He said that?
Hope: Yeah. I caught up with him outside of the pub.
Bo: So ma wants me to leave. Roman wants me to stay. Want to be the deciding vote?
Hope: [Laughs] Oh, no way. I'm not walking into that one.
Bo: Okay. So I'm the deciding-- come on, just let me know how you feel.
Hope: I want you to be happy. That's all I want. I love it when you dream big. And maybe that's just what you need right now, is to dream big.
Bo: All I need right now...
Bo: Is this.
Melanie: I've been asking myself that all night. What do we do now?
Chad: And did you come up with an answer?
Melanie: I'm gonna go see my mom. She's been asking for months, and I think now is a good time.
Chad: That's a great idea.
Gabi: Hey, you look better today.
Nick: Hey, thanks. I am. Hey, guess who stopped by to apologize.
Nick: Mm-hmm. Well, not like completely apologize. He's still grabbing at every excuse in the book for what he did, but-- he even said that you being there made it worse.
Gabi: Well, it did.
Nick: Well, he can't blame you for his actions.
Gabi: Yeah, but, I mean-- but he blames me for--for mine, and that's--that's fair.
Nick: What, you mean, like, the--the thing that you went to go do last night?
Gabi: I want to tell you.
Nick: You don't have to.
Gabi: I know, I know, and my brother says I shouldn't tell anybody, but... I want you to know what I did.
EJ: I have news for you, my dear. Rafe is not the same man that you fell in love with back then. I think it's about time we opened mommy's eyes. Howard. EJ DiMera. I need you to take care of something for me.
Rafe: No, it's not regarding a current case. Can you please just have Justin call Rafe Hernandez right away? Yeah, it's urgent. Thanks.
Sami: Hey. I, um, thought you liked room-temperature police station coffee.
Rafe: Hey, Sami. Now's not a good time.
Gabi: So, in a way, yes, Chad is right. I mean, I'm the reason that Melanie got kidnapped, and that's kind of what set him off in the first place. I mean, I couldn't have been more wrong or more stupid.
Nick: Well, I mean, you could have.
Gabi: Come on, I mean, that was, like, monumentally bad and really embarrassing.
Nick: Yeah, it was-- [Laughs] It was pretty bad. [Clears throat] But you owned up to it. You know, that's a good thing.
Gabi: Yeah, took me long enough.
Nick: So why do you need to tell me all this?
Chad: I think visiting Carly is a great idea. It's time away from Salem. It's--it's distance from everything and everyone here.
Melanie: Yeah. But I'm surprised you're okay with it.
Chad: Yeah, I mean, we can make up classes later, but this is more important. I mean, I could be ready by-- by tomorrow.
Melanie: No, no, no, no. You-- you're not coming with me to see my mom. I'm going... by myself... without you.
Howard: Our associates were wondering when we would hear from you.
EJ: [Chuckles] Look, uh, this has nothing to do with your business with my father. I'm managing the family company and my personal holdings. Things are gonna be done very differently than they were with Stefano.
Howard: Well, you can-- you can count on loyalty up and down the line.
EJ: There is, uh, someone who's very much in my way at the moment. He's interfering with the family, Howard. This has to stop.
Howard: Give me a name.
EJ: It's our old friend Rafael Hernandez.
Howard: [Laughs] Oh. I know people who would fight for the privilege. You want him dead?
Sami: Um, okay. So when would be a good time to chat?
Rafe: I don't know.
Sami: Something wrong?
Rafe: Yeah. I don't have time for this right now.
