Will: Hi. About what?

Sami: I have a little gift for you back at my place.

Will: Really? What for? It's not my birthday. It's not Christmas.

Sami: I don't need an excuse to buy my son a present.

Will: What do you want, mom?

Sami: [Scoffs]

EJ: No, the cost is not important. This evening has to be perfect. Think, um, think the height of romance, yeah? And then top that. Thank you.

Jennifer: Well, dad, you know, the house did feel empty until Nicole moved in. Now it doesn't feel--

EJ: What? I'm sorry, did you just say that Nicole is moving in with you?

Nicole: Come on in.

Rafe: Oh.

Nicole: Thank you for stopping by.

Rafe: Yeah, yeah, no problem.

Nicole: Ooh.

Rafe: How you feeling?

Nicole: Good, actually. Really, really good, and, um...

Rafe: Ah. [Laughs]

Nicole: I know. [Laughs] I have news.

Rafe: Oh, yeah?

Nicole: Mm-hmm. It's a boy. [Laughs]

Rafe: What?

Nicole: [Laughing] Yeah.

Rafe: Are you serious?

Nicole: Yeah.

Rafe: Oh, so you decided to find out, huh?

Nicole: I did, yeah.

Rafe: Look at that.

Nicole: [Laughs]

Rafe: Are you happy?

Nicole: Oh, totally.

Rafe: Good.

Nicole: I'd probably screw up a little girl, so--

Rafe: Yeah, you-- no, no comment on that.

Nicole: [Gasps] Oh, my--

Rafe: I'm just gonna-- [Laughing] What? [Laughter] You know.

Nicole: But seriously, I mean, the moment I found out, I made a decision, and I just--I want to run it by you.

Rafe: Okay.

Nicole: You have been amazing, pretending to be my baby's father and keeping EJ away from him.

Rafe: Yeah, well, it's a no-brainer, as far as I'm concerned.

Nicole: Okay, good. Now, as long as you feel that way, I just--I want to see what you think of the name.

Rafe: Okay.

Nicole: Okay? Daniel Rafael Hernandez.

Rafe: [Chuckles]

Nicole: It's cute.

Rafe: Yeah.

Daniel: Damn this thing.

Sonny: Hey, Daniel. What can I get for you?

Daniel: Hey, Sonny. You know what I need, dude? I need a, uh, like, a half-caf soy la--

Sonny: Latte, no foam? For Melanie? Yeah, that's the only thing she ever orders.

Daniel: Yeah.

Sonny: I'll get that for you.

Daniel: Thank you, brother. Thank you. Can't get ahold of my daughter, man. Trying to get through for the last 20 minutes. Come on.

Melanie: "You're sexy when you sleep. Love, your future husband." [Laughs]

[Phone ringing]

Melanie: Is this my future husband? Hello? Chad? No, just stay away from me. Over there, please.

Sami: So you heard that EJ resigned?

Will: As mayor?

Sami: Well, what else would he be resigning from, right?

Will: When did this happen?

Sami: Yesterday. Uh, he made the statement that he wants to spend more time with his family.

Will: Really?

Sami: Really.

Will: I'm guessing he doesn't mean Stefano.

Sami: Ahem.

Will: Then I'm right. You're thinking about getting back together with him.

Jennifer: Excuse me, dad, I am being rudely interrupted by someone right now. Could I call you back? All right. You know, EJ, you need to not listen in on other people's phone calls. You might get a bad reputation.

EJ: Mm. Is there any particular reason why Nicole has decided to take up residence at your inn?

Jennifer: I'm already late for something.

EJ: Jennifer, don't underestimate Nicole. If she's moving in with you to hide from some sort of storm, you're going to need to up your disaster insurance.

Rafe: I love the name. It's--it's so-- uh... I'm honored.

Nicole: Great. Yes, thank you, thank you.

Rafe: Yeah. [Laughter] You're welcome. You're welcome.

Nicole: Oh, come on. Are you just saying that? Really?

Rafe: No, no, I'm not just saying that. It's just that now that the baby's gonna have my name, it makes the responsibility that I'm gonna be looking after the both of you just that much more real.

Nicole: I mean, obviously, you know, the last name, we have to keep that up for appearances, but I just--I really wanted your name in there too. It's just kind of like a thanks, you know?

Rafe: Yeah, it's just the-- the first name.

Nicole: Daniel?

Rafe: Mm.

Nicole: Well, he's been just as supportive in this as you have.

Rafe: Oh, I get it, yeah. It's just that don't you think that EJ's gonna get it too?

Nicole: Get what?

Rafe: The guy that did the paternity test proving that EJ isn't the father is now gonna have the baby named after him?

Nicole: Oh, god.

Rafe: Um, Nicole, you don't think that he's gonna be suspicious of that?

Nicole: [Scoffs] Anything I do from now until I die will make EJ suspicious. Rafe, I want my baby's name to be meaningful, and you and Daniel, for right now, are the two most meaningful men in my life, until Daniel Rafael gets here, of course.

Rafe: Okay. Hey, listen, it's your baby, you can name him whatever you want, all right? Little guy.

Nicole: Uh-huh. I hear a "but" coming.

Rafe: No, it's just that-- just wondering if there's something else going on between you and Daniel besides this enormous favor he's done for you.

Daniel: Oh, come on.

[Phone ringing]

Daniel: Mel? Melanie, it's your dad.

Melanie: Hi, dad. Sorry, uh, I was in the shower.

Daniel: Okay, listen, I worked the night shift, so I'm off now, and I'll be over in a little bit, okay?

Melanie: Okay, that's fine, but I'm fine still, like I was when you asked last night and when Maggie asked me this morning. I know everybody thinks I'm freaked out about Nick being here, but I'm not, I'm fine, okay?

Daniel: Yeah, okay, well, that--you know what, that's all nice and neat there, okay, but I'm coming over, and I'm bringing one of these disgusting soy things that you drink, so I don't want to hear any static.

Melanie: Fine.

[Knocking at the door]

Daniel: Is that someone at the door?

Melanie: Uh, yeah, sounds like it.

Daniel: Okay, well, honey, you need to ask first.

Melanie: I'm not four, dad.

Daniel: Okay, honey, will you just a--ask.

Melanie: Fine, bye.

[Knocking at the door]

Melanie: Hi, Brady.

Brady: Hi. Hey, I want to talk to you about--

Melanie: Oh, Nick Fallon. Yeah, big surprise.

Melanie: Go on ahead, ask me all your questions about how I'm doing or if I'm freaking out or if I'm still having nightmares or if it's worrying me that Nick's running around Salem loose, but you gotta be fast about it because Maggie's gonna call me soon to make sure that my head hasn't exploded. And in case that's not enough, my dad's gonna come over physically to see for himself if my head has exploded, and I'm pretty sure that Chad has a DiMera bodyguard standing outside the apartment watching me--

Brady: [Halting stutter] Can you stop?

Melanie: I just--

Brady: Wait a minute.

Melanie: You're driving me crazy, and I'm gonna scream my head out if you've come here for a safety lesson.

Brady: Don't--don't sc-- if you do that ever again, do you promise to give me a heads-up, so I can put cotton in my ears, please?

Melanie: Whatever.

Brady: Look, Maggie told me that you were very upset when you saw Nick at the mansion, okay?

Melanie: Yeah, well--

Brady: And I was--

Melanie: I was surprised. I would probably have the same reaction if you were there behind me, and I didn't know you were there behind me, and I turned around and saw you.

Brady: Come on, come on.

Melanie: Maybe I wouldn't have the exact same reaction. I love you all, but if you don't back off, I'm gonna pull all my hair out.

Brady: Don't pull you hair out. I'm just concerned. I'm sorry.

Melanie: I'm sorry too. I know you're going through so much, losing Madison the way you did. I know, I don't even know what I would ever do if I ever lost Chad.

Nicole: Well, um... my feelings for Daniel evolved over time... which is good.

Rafe: Mm-hmm.

Nicole: And he did an incredibly brave thing for me-- for us. And the more time I spent with him, especially after he saved the baby, I had a moment of clarity, and once I knew, I was all-in.

Rafe: Interesting.

Nicole: What is?

Rafe: Nothing, just-- the two of you, through this friendship, have developed something romantic.

Nicole: W-- I'd like to think so.

Rafe: Well, why do you say that?

Nicole: I have a lot of clarity about Daniel, but Daniel doesn't have a whole lot of clarity about me.

Adrienne: You know, um... your daughter's boyfriend is actually Sonny's business partner, right?

Daniel: Chad, yeah.

Adrienne: Mm-hmm.

Daniel: Yeah.

Adrienne: Well, initially, Justin and I were very concerned with Sonny getting involved in a business relationship with a DiMera, but Chad really does seem to be a good guy.

Daniel: Yeah, I think he is. Yeah. Oh, my god, I should have said this sooner. I am so sorry about your brother. I mean, Jack's death is a terrible loss. My condolences to you and your family.

Adrienne: Thank you, Daniel. I really appreciate that. People have been tremendously wonderful, very kind, and supportive, and I really do appreciate it. Just wish that Jennifer could lean on the people who love her as much as she lets them lean on her.

Jennifer: Oh, EJ, I really hate hyperbolic threats.

EJ: Jennifer, I'm not threatening you.

Jennifer: No?

EJ: No.

Jennifer: Well, I'm warning you, stay away from my house and Nicole.

EJ: I'm just protecting what's mine.

Jennifer: What's yours? [Laughs] Nicole is pregnant with Rafe's baby. Nothing is yours.

EJ: Don't do this. Don't deprive me of my child. You know it's wrong. You know I'm a good father. Can you please just admit the truth, so we can put all of this behind us?

Jennifer: Maybe it's time for you to move on, EJ. Don't you think?

Sami: Well, you are my son, and you're smart.

Will: No, I am not smart. Uh, it's just that you're transparent.

Sami: Yes, you are smart, and, okay, maybe I'm a little with you, but, um, I thought you liked EJ.

Will: I do, but how I feel about him doesn't matter. I think we discussed this before about your disastrous history together, right? Why would you want to repeat that?

Sami: Okay, you make a good point. What?

Will: I make a good point? Who are you, and what have you done with my mother? Wow. You do want to get on my good side.

Sami: Hey, be nice, please.

Will: I-I will, I will.

Sami: [Laughs]

Will: I'll try.

Sami: Okay, thank you. You know, when EJ resigned, he talked about how important it was for him to be with his family, and I hope you know that that's always been my first priority.

Will: That is good. Um, you know, I have to say, though, that it--it seems that a lot of your recent decision-making has kind of revolved around whatever EJ is doing.

Sami: Look, if EJ and I are going know, tiptoe towards maybe potentially having a relationship, we're both aware that it affects a lot of people besides us.

Will: Okay. Maybe he is having a better effect on you than I thought.

Sami: And I do appreciate your advice. One thing I don't want is to repeat the bad history, what's happened between us.

Will: Wow, y--I-- you're freakin' me out a little bit with all this reasonableness.

Sami: [Scoffs] I just--I want you to be honest with me about your feelings.

Will: I am. I'm doing that.

Sami: I know, but about EJ. Do you think that, um, I'm making another mistake by thinking about getting back together with him?

EJ: Justin, EJ DiMera. Um, well, since they say that an attorney who has himself for a client is a fool, um, I was wondering if I could ask you for some legal advice. It's regarding a rather personal and delicate matter. It concerns my ex-wife, Nicole Walker, so I would be very grateful if you could give me a call. Thank you.

Nicole: Actually, in the beginning, Daniel was the one pursuing a relationship with me. And then Melanie got kidnapped, and now Nick Fallon is out on parole, and he's focused on his daughter.

Rafe: I'll bet he is.

Nicole: He's a good father.

Rafe: Yeah.

Nicole: And I get why he has to make her a priority now. I mean, I would--I'll do the same thing when my son's born.

Rafe: Yeah. Well, it sounds all very neat and tidy.

Nicole: [Grumbles] Okay, fine. You know what, there's more to the story. You know, you cops, you're so annoying.

Rafe: Yeah.

Nicole: [Laughs]

Rafe: So?

Nicole: Oh. Everything I've told you is true. There's just another layer now that Jack has passed away unexpectedly. Jennifer is back on Daniel's radar.

Rafe: So you think Daniel still has feelings for Jennifer?

Nicole: Okay, let's not get carried away, all right? Daniel has a big heart, and he would help anyone--anyone that he's cared about, no matter the cost to him. But that heart needs to go to the right person.

Rafe: And that would be you.

Nicole: Just sayin'.

Daniel: I hope it's still hot.

Melanie: Yes, thank you.

Daniel: So who was at the door earlier?

Melanie: Brady. He was just doing the same thing you're about to do.

Daniel: Really? Buying you coffee loaded with soy products?

Melanie: Ha, no, driving me crazy.

Daniel: Honey, listen to me--

Melanie: No--I--look, I love you.

Daniel: I love you, but--

Melanie: Good--uh, good, so you can stay here, and we can talk about whatever you want, as long as it's what normal people talk about, which means no kidnapping, no parole boards, no nightmares.

Daniel: I'm sorry, you're having nightmares? Are you having nightmares now? You didn't tell me you were having nightmares.

Melanie: Just--you didn't listen to a single thing I jus--

Daniel: I did listen to you, you said, "nightmares."

Melanie: How 'bout we talk about the cubs, or we could talk about the election 'cause that's always something good to talk about.

Daniel: You know, why don't we talk about this... engagement ring on your finger?

Melanie: [Sighs]

Jennifer: Um... are you here for that?

Brady: This? Uh, yeah. You too?

Jennifer: Yeah, I'm so late.

Brady: I know, I'm late for it too.

Jennifer: On purpose?

Brady: Maybe. I don't know, these bereavement groups, they probably help a lot of people, but honestly, I don't--I don't feel like I want to focus on what I lost, you know?

Jennifer: You know what? I get that, I do.

Brady: I mean, I'm sitting here, right? This pretzel-- [Laughs] This giant pretzel, I--I used to get one of these for Madison every single time the guy with the cart was here, and she used to eat the whole thing, and I honestly--I can't finish this. Is this the biggest pretzel you've ever seen? [Laughs]

Jennifer: Ginormous, yes.

Brady: Will you--will you help me out with this thing, please?

EJ: Yes, Florence, I'm well aware that it is a custom order. And that I've given you no time, but my dear, you've never let me down before, and you know I pay very, very well. She is extremely special, thank you, but she's also prone to flip-flopping, which is why this gift has to be extra special.

Will: Um, you know what? You always do what you want to do, so why do you suddenly care what I think?

Sami: I always care what you think, but now I can ask you 'cause you're old enough and definitely all grown up lately, and you're better than most people in this town at being objective about EJ, so... so what do you think?

Will: You know, I think that underneath it all, I think he is a good person.

Sami: Okay, that says a lot. Does that mean that you think that it'll really work for us this time?

Will: You know, I didn't at first, but I don't know, I've given it a lot of thought, and, you know, if you want to be together, you really want to be together, then, yeah, you should try, I think, you know? And I'll root for you. I'll--I'll help, or whatever.

Sami: [Laughs]

Will: [Laughs]

Sami: Thank you!

Will: Oh. Wow, thank you. I mean, thanks for actually talking to me about doing something before, you know, you do it. I'm serious.

Sami: [Laughs] You're welcome.

Will: [Laughs]

Sami: So are you gonna open your present or wait till next Christmas?

Will: All right. [Grunts] I'll do it. Okay. Oh. Wow. Is this the--is this the jacket that--that we walked by in the window that one time?

Sami: Yeah, you definitely stopped and stared at it and commented on how cool it was, and I know you never normally do that, so--

Will: Wow, you were paying attention.

Sami: I do that...sometimes.

Will: Thank you. Can I--I'm sorry, can I say one thing to you?

Sami: Sure.

Will: No, I--[Laughs] It's just--this conversation aside, about EJ, I just think that, you know, you've got to admit that you've been all over the map with men lately.

Sami: [Sighs] Okay, maybe you're right.

Rafe: I don't hate y-- I don't. I could never hate you.

Sami: Yeah, no. No question, you're definitely right.

Will: Okay. Thanks, um, so just-- I don't know, can you be sure this time, please?

Sami: [Chuckles]

Melanie: It's pretty. It's pretty. Chad, he proposed to me last night.

Daniel: I--I don't even know what to say. Does--does your mom know? And what about Maggie?

Melanie: You're the first.

Daniel: I'm the first?

Melanie: Mm-hmm.

Daniel: Can I just ask you, you know, one simple question?

Melanie: Yeah.

Daniel: Yeah. What in the hell are you thinking?

Melanie: What?

Daniel: What? No, I am serious, baby, I am so serious. This is out of nowhere, Mel.

Melanie: I thought you liked Chad.

Daniel: I do like Chad, but I'm not expecting you to be engaged to the guy.

Melanie: Okay, but we've been more than friends for a long--

Daniel: Friends, exactly, friends, but this, what is this? You know what this is? This right here, it's impulsive, and it's just like--it's like Philip. Reminds me of Philip, the whole thing.

Melanie: Philip?

Daniel: Yeah.

Melanie: Really? Are you trying to make me freak out?

Daniel: No, I'm not trying to make you freak out, honey. In fact, I'm not someone who can just stand here in judgment.

Melanie: No...

Daniel: I'm not.

Melanie: You're not someone who can stand there and judge, and really, I don't understand why you're not more happy for me.

Daniel: You don't understand? You know what, I'm sorry, but it's the timing of the whole thing. Now, baby, right now?

Melanie: As opposed to what? So I shouldn't get married to Chad?

Daniel: Why don't you tell me why you want to get married to Chad? Because right now, all of this, this whole drama with Nick, tell me right now why you want to get married.

Rafe: Well, you want my two cents about your feelings for Daniel?

Nicole: Depends.

Rafe: Well, I'm gonna give it to you anyway. Listen, you need to tell him, okay? Look, the three of us, we're already keeping this huge secret about EJ being the father of the baby, and now, to do this to Daniel, not to tell him? No way. Way too complicated. You gotta tell him 'cause the stakes, they're way too high.

Nicole: Pot, kettle black, hello.

Rafe: The what?

Nicole: Okay, first of all, I'm not keeping my feelings a secret from Daniel.

Rafe: Well--

Nicole: Okay? He--maybe he doesn't know how strong they are, but he does know about my feelings, and second, you're telling me that I should tell me feelings to someone? I mean, you're like the worst offender of that ever.

Rafe: What are you talking about?

Nicole: What am I--seriously? It's starts with an "S." Sami, Sami, Sami.

Rafe: Sami?

Nicole: [Laughing] Yeah.

Rafe: Are you kidding me right now?

Nicole: No.

Rafe: Sami?

Nicole: No, I'm not, because I would have to have a sleep mask on not to see the way you two looked at each other when you brought her in the hospital after her latest inappropriate debacle.

Rafe: Oh, my god, I was just making sure that she was okay. You--you're kidding me right now, right?

Nicole: No, I'm not kidding you right now, no, I'm not. I can't stand her.

Rafe: Well, neither can I.

Nicole: Oh, I believe you. Mm-hmm. Listen, just because you don't--

Rafe: You--you're nuts, and I'm not gonna even do this with you right now.

Nicole: Lis--just because you can't stand her doesn't mean that you don't want to be with her, and as much as it makes me gag to see you two together, I just care about you... and I want you to be happy. Do you think--do you think you could be without Sami and be happy? Or is she it?

Jennifer: Okay. You see, I don't really like the crust.

Brady: What do you mean cr-- it has crust? Is there crust on a pretzel?

Jennifer: Yeah, pretzel has a crust. I don't eat the crust. I would just dig out the middle, and then Jack would eat all the crust for me. I would leave this for him.

Brady: That's, uh, that's a great system for eating a pretzel.

Jennifer: It's a really good system, actually. [Laughter] And it's these little memories that really get me the most.

Brady: The little things that only you and he knew, they're the best.

Jennifer: Yeah.

Brady: You know, I spoke to Melanie this morning. That actually helped me out a little bit, focusing on someone else's problems. It's amazing.

Jennifer: I know it's really rough for Melanie with Nick back here, but I'm telling you, Brady, he's changed, I really believe that, I do.

Brady: I hope that you're right.

Jennifer: Well, she's lucky, she has you.

Brady: Well, thank you. She has me, she has Chad, she has her father too.

Jennifer: Yeah, Daniel's a great dad.

Brady: He's a very good dad.

Jennifer: Yeah. You know, the way he is with Melanie reminds me of how Jack was with Abigail. I mean, not that they wouldn't get into it like cats and dogs sometimes.

Brady: They're supposed to.

Melanie: You just can't help yourself, can you? I mean, I tell you that Chad and I are engaged, and you bring up Nick, which I'm pretty sure I remember asking you not to do.

Daniel: Okay, I'm pretty sure that was before I saw the ring on your finger.

Melanie: Yeah, which you're so happy for me about, right?

Daniel: How am I gonna be happy for you when your boyfriend proposes marriage when you're extremely vulnerable? You know, and I don't even think you're thinking straight right now.

Melanie: Are you listening to yourself talk right now?

Daniel: I am listening to myself because it is your father trying to take care of you 'cause you are not dealing with how terrified you are about Nick, and yet you want to get married?

Melanie: Do I need to ask you to leave?

Daniel: No, I am not leaving, I am gonna stay right here, and we are gonna deal with it, all of it, right now.

Rafe: Okay, whatever you think you saw between me and Sami, that was history, all right, because I am telling you there is no there, there. It's done.

Nicole: Mm-hmm. Well, EJ seems pretty plugged in about you and Sami.

Rafe: Oh, yeah, he does, doesn't he?

Nicole: Mm-hmm.

Rafe: Because he's using the fact that I'm the baby's father to let her know that I'm unavailable.

Nicole: But you're not the baby's father, and you are available.

Rafe: Nicole--

Nicole: You want to be with her.

Rafe: Nicole, I do not want to be with her, and I am not gonna ever go back to her again. In fact, if I see her walking down the street, I'm gonna cross to the other side because I don't want to be near her, not now, not ever, all right?

Nicole: Oh, that is so not true.

Rafe: Uh, yeah, it is.

Nicole: You know it as well as I do.

Will: Ahh.

Sami: Like a glove.

Will: Wow. This is great.

Sami: Yeah, it's awesome. Definitely think you're gonna get heads turning in this.

Will: We'll see.

Sami: Speaking of which, how's it going in that department?

Will: Oh, what department is that exactly?

Sami: Well, we just got through talking about my love life, right?

Will: Oh, um, yeah. I think it's a little weird the other way around, um, since you're my mom, and that department's kind of closed.

Sami: Well, I don't believe that.

Will: Yes, believe it.

Sami: Look, will, I just think you have to learn to trust yourself and believe in who you are. If you do that, other people will see that, and they'll respond to it, and they're gonna love you for who you are too.

Will: Thank you. Um, thanks. You know what, y--why don't-- you should take the same advice.

Sami: [Scoffs]

EJ: Are we all set? Well, my dear, you'll just have to find somewhere on the planet where daffodils are in season. Hold on. That's my lawyer on the other line, I'll have to call you back. Uh, try Holland. Justin, thank you for calling me. Mm. I wanted to talk to you about Nicole Walker. I need your expertise in the matter. Mm-hmm.

Billie: Excuse me.

EJ: Yeah.

Billie: Excuse me.

EJ: One--one second.

Billie: Excuse me.

EJ: What?

Billie: Hi, don't mean to bother you, but, um, it's too good to pass by. Are you still interested in Nicole? Only six degrees separate the body temperature

Will: Hello. Um, I called in a takeout order for will.

Oh, yeah. I'll get it for you.

Will: Okay.

Tad: What is this, a gay bar now too? Wow, this town's been invaded.

Will: That's clever, now... [Clears throat] Go away.

Tad: Little rough on you the other day.

Will: So that previous crack was your version of an apology?

Tad: Just didn't want you thinking I was gay too. You know, I'm not trying to send any mixed messages.

Will: Well, thanks. You're not my type, but thank you for the all-clear. Here you go, keep the change.

Tad: You know, you and Sonny are a lot alike.

Will: Uh, no, we're not.

Tad: Sure you are.

Will: Um, yeah, we both happen to be gay, but that's kind of where the similarities stop.

Tad: Oh, I know. I know you're not into him like that. You're a real heartbreaker.

Melanie: Awesome. You want to do this?

Daniel: Mm-hmm.

Melanie: What would you like to know?

Daniel: You know what I want to know is how Chad got from being your boyfriend to your fiancÚ in, like, one day.

Melanie: Well, that's how it works, right, dad? When you're dating someone, and they ask you to marry them, you go from being their girlfriend to being their fiancÚ.

Daniel: Yeah, yeah, but you testified in front of Nick's parole board a couple days ago, and then yesterday you find out he's living at your grandmother's house when you ran into him there.

Melanie: So?

Daniel: So... so when did Chad find time to say, "hey, will you marry me?"

Melanie: Before that.

Daniel: So you weren't going to Maggie's to tell her that you got engaged? Because you hadn't said yes yet. So you went there to ask for advice after Chad proposed to you, and then you saw Nick there before you talked to her? So instead, you just come here, and you tell Chad, "yeah, yeah, I'll marry you 'cause Nick creeped me out because he's living with my grandmother." Baby, come on.

Melanie: Yeah, but I love him, that's not enough?

Daniel: No, and it would be. It really would be if I thought that's the reason you agreed to marry him.

Melanie: So you can't just let me be happy? You can't let me have this one? You have to try and hurt me, right, dad? Of course. [Chuckles]

EJ: Justin, would you be kind enough to excuse me? Something incredibly annoying just happened.

Billie: [Sighs]

EJ: Thank you. Billie.

Billie: Nicole, really? I mean, now that we're pseudo-related again, you being a DiMera, after all, and my mom being still married to your father, you could confide in me if you want, EJ.

EJ: Billie, you and I are not related, and I have no intention of confiding in you. As for what you just overheard, my relationship to Nicole is over, I'm simply tying up a few legal loose ends. None of which is any of your business, but, uh, I suppose with you that is a moot point.

Billie: Well, then who are the daffodils for, Elvis?

EJ: Mm.

Sami: [Sighs] Okay, this is gonna be fine, and will's right, just be yourself and, um, don't let EJ micromanage you. Okay. [Sighs]

[Knocking at the door]

Sami: He's early. [Clears throat]

Brady: Done.

Jennifer: Mm. Mm! That was good.

Brady: Oh, it was an easy shot.

Jennifer: Good aim.

Brady: Thank you.

Jennifer: Nice.

Brady: Thank you for helping me out with that. Couldn't have finished it by myself.

Jennifer: Eating is never a chore for me.

Brady: [Laughs]

Jennifer: [Chuckles]

Brady: Well, how 'bout the same time next week?

Jennifer: Yeah, absolutely. You have to let me buy the pretzel, though.

Brady: Deal.

Jennifer: No crust.

Brady: Do you have a little bit left?

Jennifer: Yes, here.

Daniel: The last thing that I want to do is hurt you.

Melanie: Then tell me congratulations.

Daniel: If you're happy, Mel, I am happy.

Melanie: I am. I know you think this is some knee-jerk reaction because of what Nick's--because he's here, but it's not, okay?

Daniel: Okay. Then congratulations.

Sonny: What, mom?

Adrienne: Mm, I just always hoped you'd find someone who cared about you as much as you deserve.

Sonny: That's what you're thinking about when you're staring at me, like, this close while I work?

Adrienne: [Laughs] No, yes.

Sonny: [Laughs]

Adrienne: Someone kind and loving, generous. Handsome wouldn't hurt.

Sonny: That wouldn't hurt, no.

Adrienne: Mm-mm.

Sonny: Well, why don't you sign me up? Where can I meet this guy?

Adrienne: [Laughs] Stop. Um, I just saw you with a very nice, young man. He totally fits the bill.

Sonny: What, you're talking about Brian?

Adrienne: Yes, Brian.

Sonny: No, Brian doesn't count because he's a friend of mine. I mean that, we're just friends.

Adrienne: Oh. Oh.

Sonny: Sorry to disappoint you.

Adrienne: Oh, no, no, no, honey, no. Hmm. Is there someone that you might be interested in?

Sonny: Yeah.

Adrienne: Really?

Sonny: Mm-hmm.

Adrienne: Well, who?

Sonny: [Sighs]

Adrienne: Do I know him?

Sonny: Yes, you do. It's, uh, it's will.

Adrienne: Will? Will Horton? Hmm.

Will: Hey, wait a second.

Tad: Oh, now you want to talk? Or is this a stalk?

Will: Okay, shut up. What did you mean about, um, Sonny and me exactly?

Tad: Just that you're not into him, but the feeling isn't mutual.

Will: Are you sure you know what you're talking about?

Tad: Oh, I know what I heard, straight out of that gay horse's mouth.

[Phone ringing]

Rafe: Looks like you have plans.

Sami: Yeah, I was just getting ready to leave.

Rafe: Going to see EJ?

[Phone ringing]

Rafe: [Sighs] God, Sami, you're such a fool.

Sami: Really? You came all the way over here just to tell me that?

Rafe: No, he's not the right man for you, all right? He's not.
