Bo: Mmm. Good morning, Fancy Face.
Hope: Mmm...morning, Brady.
Bo: Happy Anniversary.
Hope: [Whispering] Happy Anniversary.
Gabi: Hey, Will, what's going on?
Will: Oh, um, nothing. I just wanted to tell you that I came out to my Mom and Dad earlier.
Gabi: Oh, my God, that is--that's huge. How did they take it?
Will: Um... um, Dad was pretty cool, actually. Mom...
Gabi: Flipped out?
Will: Yeah, I don't know why. I thought she would have a rational response.
Gabi: [Sighs] I--well, I mean, just think about where she's coming from. I mean, what Mom wants to hear their son is gay?
Melanie: Hmm, what?
Chad: Lexie says she wants me to come to a family luncheon at Stefano's, uh-oh.
Melanie: Oh, you can't do that, because your top hat and your tails are at the cleaners.
Chad: Ah, ha ha. It can't be that big of a deal, now, come on.
Melanie: [Laughs] Are you actually gonna go?
Chad: Well, yeah, I think I should. Lexie's sick, so... and you know what would make it easier, if, um... would you come with me?
Celeste: Theo, my darling, what would you like to do this afternoon?
Celeste: Oh, I have better cards for us to play with.
Lexie: Mom? What is it?
Marlena: Bye-bye. Hey, Eric says hello and welcomes us back to the land of the living. [Laughs]
John: Yeah. Feels good. Listen, I spoke with Belle, I told her that you would call her back, and, uh, and Claire, she's got herself a secret.
John: But she's only gonna share it with you. [Laughs]
Marlena: Oh! Don't you love it when things start getting back to normal?
John: Yeah. Not quite, Doc. You and I both know that. It's not gonna be, as long as Stefano's still free.
Stefano: I'm in possession of a coin you once crafted for my Father, Santo DiMera, and I would like know everything that you know about this coin, and I'm willing to pay any price.
EJ: You'll pay any price, will you? Not with the money you stole from me.
Will: Wow, no rainbow flag for you.
Gabi: Oh, look, that--that came our wrong, okay? I meant, "I'm gay" isn't what most moms or dads plan on hearing from their sons, right?
Will: I know, I know.
Gabi: And plus, Sami's such a drama queen. What--what did she say?
Will: Nothing. She just walked out of the door.
Gabi: Oh, wow.
Will: Yeah, you know, the funny thing is, I actually prepared in advance for any crazy thing she might say, but I wasn't prepared for her not saying anything at all. That's a lie, actually. She did come back, and she threw a fit, because I told Grandma Marlena before I told her.
Will: Hey, at least Grandma Marlena was cool, though.
Gabi: You know what? Will, you just--you just need to give your mom some time to get used to the idea, and I'm sure it's gonna get easier for her, once she sees how happy you are.
Will: Okay, anyway, enough about me. What's up? I've been worried about you.
Gabi: Why? [Laughs]
Will: Your stalker. What happened to the--the guy who--is he still stalking you?
Melanie: I--I would love to go to a luncheon with you and your family.
Melanie: [Laughs] Look, you're doing the right thing. You should support Lexie, and I want to support you, and I want to support Lexie, it's just--
Melanie: Your dad has done some pretty awful things, and I don't know if I can be around a man like Stefano.
Lexie: Ah, I see you've been playing with Grandma's cards, huh?
Celeste: Oh, honey, this card doesn't always mean death, my darling.
Theo: What else?
Celeste: Well, it could mean the end of something, or the start of something new.
Lexie: Yeah, yeah, yeah. [Laughter] Which is one of the reasons we're having lunch at Nonno's house today. [Laughs]
Theo: Yes! Will Uncle EJ be there?
Lexie: Mm-hmm, just to see you.
Theo: I love Uncle EJ.
Celeste: Come on, let's head on to the car.
Lexie: Thanks, Ma. [Blows air]
Abe: That woman and her tarot cards.
Lexie: No, I'm sure she didn't mean for Theo to get a hold of one.
Abe: You sure you're up for this luncheon?
Abe: I mean, after all that fighting with Stefano last night, I--I just don't want it to be too much for you again.
Lexie: No, I'm okay. I'm okay. I need today to happen, Abe. Okay? I need to leave my family at peace.
Stefano: You know, you keep accusing me of using your money, but it's money that you stole from John Black.
EJ: You stole that from me.
Stefano: Look... [Grumbles] I'm busy. [Grunts]
EJ: And I want it back.
Stefano: That's--[Laughs] That's not going to happen. Not today, or ever.
Gabi: You know, actually, I've--I've pretty much forgotten about my stalker, because he hasn't been bothering me lately.
Will: Oh, that's great. Great. You know what, though, you should--probably you should--you know, just in case, report it to the police.
Gabi: No, Will, I can't do that. Look, I've told Chad and Melanie and Abigail, if I do that, if I tell the police, they're gonna tell Rafe, and I mean, I know my overly-protective big brother. I'll never see the sun again.
Will: Yeah, but what about safety, though, you know? I mean, if some guy's really stalking you, then you should--
Gabi: I need to do something about it?
Gabi: Yeah, well, then that's where you come in.
Will: Okay, what can I do that the police can't?
Gabi: How about we talk about it over some lattes you're getting for us.
Will: That I--?
Gabi: Come on.
Bo: [Grunts] [Growls]
Hope: Well, I thought... being in our own bed would be the best anniversary present in the world, but you know what?
Hope: You were right.
Bo: What's that?
Hope: This is pretty fabulous.
Bo: Mm-hmm. Sometimes I come up with good ideas.
Hope: Mmm, you do.
Bo: Like marrying you. I, Bo, take thee, Hope. "To be my wedded wife."
Bo: To be my wedded wife.
Hope: I, Hope, take thee, Bo. "To be my wedded husband."
Hope: To be my wedded husband.
Bo: I know it's difficult to comprehend, but I do love you now more than I did then.
Hope: I love you, too. Then, now.
Bo: [Chuckles] Mmm.
Hope: [Chuckles] And always.
Melanie: Look, I--I don't want to be selfish, I don't want to sound selfish, but the guy did try and kill half the people we care about in this town, and I don't know how I could share breadsticks with him without wanting to reach across the table and--and choke him. No offense.
Chad: [Chuckles] Okay, I-- look, I totally understand, but, uh, you know, I kind of feel the same way.
Chad: Uh, it's just that--
Chad: Lexie's sick. Okay, she's dying, and she asked me to make peace with the family, so that when she's gone, I can--
Melanie: Look, is this not gonna be a one-time thing?
Chad: [Sighs] Look, I-- I know my father can be a heartless bastard, I--
Melanie: Is, your father is a heartless b--
Chad: Okay, I--I get it.
Melanie: Oh, sorry.
Chad: I get it. But he's also a man who's losing his daughter way too soon, and seeing her sick has... well, it's--you know, it's reminding me that he is human... sometimes.
Melanie: [Laughs] I'm very lucky to love a man who's heart is always in the right place.
Chad: [Chuckles] So you understand?
Melanie: I do. I'm just worried that after Lexie... that maybe your father is gonna use her being sick to get you close to him. Like, too close.
Chad: You worry too much.
Melanie: You--you don't worry enough. Your dad loves you, in his own way. I know he does, but Stefano was, is, and will always be evil.
Marlena: Oh. Thank you.
Marlena: Honey, I know it's frustrating, but look at it this way. We're still alive.
John: Yeah, there is that.
Marlena: Yeah, and I don't think Stefano will bother us anytime soon, because he is under such serious scrutiny.
John: Yeah, but we're not.
John: Bo and Hope said it, too. The only way to get Stefano is to take matters into our own hands, and you know it's true.
Marlena: I know.
Marlena: I just wish it didn't have to be like this.
John: John Black. On my way.
Marlena: Where are you going?
John: Agency business. See you at home.
Stefano: Laundered money has a very nice, um, odor to it. [Laughs] Besides, I really like working for the CIA. Yeah. Could make a very interesting chapter in my memoirs.
EJ: Now, I don't entirely understand exactly what's going on here. You seem quite happy to honor your debt to Alice Horton, but you won't honor your debt to me.
Stefano: [Laughs] Don't t talk to me about family, all right? Because John Black's pension fund has helped you make mayor.
Stefano: All right?
EJ: Yes, it did... no thanks to you.
Stefano: Ah, why don't you just forget about, huh, and move on? I have. Salute.
Melanie: Okay. You're right, um, your relationship with your dad is none of my business, so go, support your sister, be civil to your dad. I just--I don't think I can come.
Chad: I understand.
Melanie: Do you?
Chad: I've got to go.
Marlena: Oh. [Laughs] Hey there. Hello-O.
Will: Oh, my God.
Marlena: [Laughing] Oh!
Will: Oh, wow, it's so good to see you.
Marlena: Mmm. Mmm, so good to see you.
Will: [Laughs] I thought I heard you.
Marlena: [Laughs] How are you?
Will: Um, good. Oh, big news. I, um, I came out to my parents.
Marlena: That's fabulous.
Marlena: How'd that go?
Will: Um... Mom... uh, didn't take it well.
Gabi: Hey. Saw Chad leave, is everything okay?
Melanie: Um... no, probably not. I think I screwed up.
EJ: Maybe it's just not very easy for you to...grasp...normal human emotions... but it is difficult for me to just move on.
Stefano: [Sighs] [Laughs] Why don't you just have a little chat with Marlena?
EJ: Don't you dare just dismiss me. I love Chad and Lexie, they are my family. You, despite the fact that you treat me like some leper, because none of your blood's running through my veins... I still have feelings for you, other than hurt and anger... which is about the only reason that I haven't strangled you and stuck your body on this table as a centerpiece.
Stefano: Enough. I made you. And if I want to, I can break you.
Lexie: [Sighs] Stop it! Both of you, stop-- ah. Oh.
Marlena: Okay, tell me what Sami said.
Will: Well, it's just, I came out, and she walked out.
Marlena: I'm so sorry.
Will: That's okay. Um, Dad actually took it like a champ. [Laughs] But, um, Mom, I don't know.
Marlena: You know what? She will come around when she realizes that it's not about her, and right now, I'm sure Sami thinks that you being gay had something to do with her as a parent. But you are living your truth, and that's what's really important.
Will: Thank you.
Marlena: You're welcome.
Will: Oh, my God. [Both laugh] Mmm.
Will: Oh, I forgot to tell you.
Will: I'm so glad that you are officially not dead.
Marlena: Me, too. I just wish Stefano... oh, my gosh, I've got to get to work. I just had to come by and see you.
Will: Okay. Okay.
Marlena: See you soon. Bye-bye.
Melanie: Uh, Chad wanted me to go to lunch with him at the DiMera mansion, and I want to support him and Lexie, but I can't stand Stefano.
Gabi: Yeah, well, you and most of the planet.
Melanie: [Laughing] Yeah. I'm kind of worried that Stefano's gonna use Lexie's illness to get closer to Chad. I mean, maybe I should have gone, so I can keep an eye on him.
Gabi: Come on, will you listen to yourself, please?
Melanie: No, I-- so you think I'm wrong for being wary about Chad and Stefano having a relationship?
Gabi: Look, that's--that's not what I meant at all. If Chad wants to let Stefano back into his life after all the things that that sicko has done, then you need to leave Chad. Leave him and never look back.
EJ: Alexandra, are you okay?
Lexie: Yeah, yeah. I hate it when the two of you fight.
Stefano: No, no, it was nothing, really.
EJ: Look, it's--
Stefano: We were just having a talk, that's all. All we care about is how are you doing. How are you feeling?
EJ: And I can assure you, it's not gonna color what happens today.
Stefano: Oh, Theodore, how good to see you! [Laughs] Ah, boy, oh, boy. Listen, I can't tell you, I have such a surprise for you in the garden. All right? Let me take you and your grandmother, and we go see it, huh? Come on.
Abe: Um, would you excuse me? I'm going to make a phone call.
Lexie: Yeah, okay. What were you and Father fighting about?
EJ: Uh, you know, we were just having a, uh, spirited debate.
Lexie: EJ. Look, I--I need to know that when I'm gone, everything I love, everything I care about won't just fall apart.
EJ: See, I wish I could promise you that.
Lexie: Just promise me you'll at least try.
EJ: Darling, I'm not Solomon. I don't have an army to man a demilitarized zone.
Lexie: Please, please, please. I want to die knowing that my family is at peace.
EJ: I promise you, I will try, okay?
Lexie: Okay, thank you. Um... I don't--let's--let's not be sad, okay? I don't want to be sad, I want to just--I just want to be grateful for whatever time we have left, okay?
EJ: It's just not enough. It's not enough.
Lexie: Yeah, I know, I know. Um, listen...[Sighs] I never really got the chance to know Tony as well as I would have liked to, and, um, well, I won't get that chance with Cameron or Chad, but you... you're the only brother I ever truly knew, and, um... I just want you to know that I just--I just love you so much.
EJ: Thank you.
John: Is that it?
Man: See for yourself. What do you think?
John: I think it'll do the job.
Man: I was never here.
John: You and me both, pal.
Bo: Thanks to room service, we can stay here indefinitely. Forget about work and DiMera, and, you know, that--solving that mystery with Mrs. "H's" bank statements. Blah, blah-- mmm.
Hope: I'd almost...
Hope: Forgotten all about that for one brief morning, until you brought it up. Thanks.
Bo: [Sheepishly] More bubbly?
Hope: Fill 'er up.
Bo: Mmm. You know, I love it when it's just the two of us. No distractions.
Hope: Why did Gran send money to Africa?
Bo: Oh! Me and my big mouth.
Hope: I really wish that Dad and Julie had found something out. I mean, they flew all the way there for us...
Bo: Fancy Face, stop, please. Please stop, stop.
Hope: Bo, they spent-- [Continues, muffled]
Bo: Stop, stop, whoa. Shh, shh, shh. It's time to relax. Think happy thoughts...
Bo: About us... about the amazing life we've had together.
Hope: Yes, happy thoughts.
Gabi: Look, I'm--I'm really sorry if I came on strong, but honestly, Stefano set up my brother and everybody else in that safe house to be killed.
Melanie: No, I know, and I told Chad that his dad is--
Melanie: [Sighs] Okay, yes. [Laughs] But Lexie's sick, and I'm afraid that Stefano's gonna use that to get closer to Chad.
Gabi: So Chad's in a place where Stefano could make nice and get to him.
Melanie: Right, and I don't want him to get sucked into that.
Gabi: You have to keep Stefano away from Chad.
Will: Hey, um, your latte order got messed up, and the barista's kind of being a-- well, she's in a mood, so maybe you want to go talk to her about what you want.
Gabi: Why is life so complicated?
Will: I don't know. Ask her. On second thought, don't. [Laughs]
Will: Hi. So... what's new?
Melanie: Uh, I don't know. Chad wanted me to go to a luncheon at the DiMera house.
Will: That's classy.
Melanie: [Laughing] Yes, very.
Will: A luncheon. [Laughs]
Melanie: Abso--but Stefano's gonna be there.
Will: Of course.
Melanie: And I don't want to go.
Will: I don't blame you.
Melanie: Yeah, but Chad left mad, and I feel really bad about it.
Will: Okay, then do something to fix it.
Melanie: Okay. [Laughs]
Stefano: Theodore, I am so happy that you like your new swing.
Theo: It's awesome.
Stefano: Isn't it?
Celeste: Theo, why don't you go tell your mother about your new gift?
Stefano: [Chuckles] Oh, God. Time...is the only enemy that I cannot conquer.
Celeste: Mmm. We all wish we could have more time with her.
Stefano: Alexandra was always the light of my life. God only knows what kind of darkness she's going to leave.
Celeste: No one can replace her, but you have other family to love and care for.
Stefano: Yes, but Alexandra's always been part of my heart. I--what I would not give to exchange my life for hers.
Abe: I wish you would.
Celeste: I'll be--I'll be in the living room.
Stefano: All right.
Abe: You know, I wish I could go back in time.
Abe: And hold you prisoner in those tunnels full of poison gas. You'd be dying, not Lexie.
Stefano: How many times do I have to tell you? Andre was down there with her without my knowledge.
Abe: Andre worked for you. You're responsible for what he did.
Stefano: Does she know that the, uh, poison--
Abe: No, no.
Stefano: Made her get a tumor?
Abe: I'm--I'm not telling her. I--I-- [Sighs] I love her enough. I don't want her dying hating you. But don't think this ends with Lexie's life. I will never forget or forgive this. Enjoy your lunch.
Stefano: [Sighs] Chad. [Chuckles] I'm so glad you came to join us.
Stefano: Ah, come, come, come. Oh, my goodness. [Laughs] I'm just, uh, sorry that you have to be here because your sister is ill, I--
Chad: We're family. [Chuckles]
Stefano: We are, indeed. Oh, my goodness, I have missed you, Chad, I really have missed you so much. Everybody is in the other room.
Chad: Um, Father, I know this is kind of out-of-the-blue, but, um, if it's not too late, I, uh, I'd like to be part of the family... again.
Stefano: Oh, God, nothing would make me happier.
Chad: There is one thing, though.
Chad: I can't be like EJ, okay? I--I can't do the things that you ask him to do, okay?
Stefano: [Sighs] Chad, my word as your father. You never will do what Elvis has done. Ah, come.
Stefano: Oh, my goodness, so good to see you.
Melanie: Well, I can't go to Chad, he's at the mansion by now.
Will: Then show up fashionably late and surprise him.
Will: Yes. Look, it's a win/win. You're happy, Chad's happy, you get to keep an eye on, you know, things.
Melanie: Okay, but I can't be around Stefano, knowing that he tried to kill so many people we love--I mean, your grandmother, Rafe. I talked to Gabi, she kind of thinks I'm right.
Will: Yeah, uh, Gabi is kind of on drama overload right now. The point is, though, that Chad is Chad. Okay? Uh, meaning that he's not Stefano, and he's not going to be.
Melanie: Yeah. Okay. Okay.
Will: All right.
Melanie: I'm gonna go to Chad, and I'm going to tell him that I love him and understand that.
Melanie: Come here. Mmm, thank you.
Gabi: So where's Melanie going?
Will: Uh, she's going to show Chad that she loves him, more than she hates Stefano.
Marlena: John. John, wait a minute.
John: Hey, Doc, what are you doing? I thought you were going back to work.
Marlena: Well, I was until I saw you with that man.
Marlena: Listen to me, you can't kill Stefano.
John: Sure, I can.
Marlena: [Scoffs] I know you and I and Bo and Hope talked about taking this into our own hands, but you can't have Stefano's blood on yours.
John: I don't have to shoot him at close range.
Marlena: Oh, that's almost funny. You realize, if he's killed, you'll be a prime suspect?
John: I know how to cover my tracks. Look, Doc, Stefano's gonna pay for what he's done. If we can't take him down legally--
Marlena: The person who's gonna pay will be you. You'll pay with your life.
John: I will have an alibi, I will get rid of the piece here, it's okay.
Marlena: I can't even discuss it further.
John: Sweetheart, this is one time you are not gonna stop me.
Marlena: If you love me...
Marlena: And I know you do, you will let this thing go, and let somebody else handle Stefano.
John: Oh, baby.
Stefano: God, oh.
Stefano: Look who's here.
Lexie: Oh, I'm so happy you came.
Chad: Well, I'm not one to miss a free meal.
Stefano: Oh, that reminds me, I have to check up on our luncheon.
Chad: Okay, all right.
Lexie: Where's Melanie?
Chad: Um, she...uh, she--
Lexie: Mmm, no, it's okay. I--I get it, I get it.
Chad: Um, yeah, well, in other news, I just told father that I want to rejoin the family.
Chad: Be a part of it the way you've been, you know, not dealing with the whole family business.
Lexie: Good, good. That's the only way Abe and I have managed to stay together all these years. Just, uh, just keep father at arm's length, and everything will be fine with Melanie.
Chad: Thank you.
Lexie: Mm-hmm. [Chuckles] I love you.
Chad: I love you. Just wish we had more time together.
Chad: Uh, uh, oh, you know-- uh, who's that?
Chad: Melanie, what are you--
Melanie: Hi. [Laughs]
Lexie: Oh, I'm so glad you came!
Melanie: I'm so sorry, I'm late.
Lexie: No--mmm, you kidding? You, Missy, are right on time. Excuse me.
Chad: Uh, hey, what, uh, what made you change your mind?
Melanie: Well, loving you is more important than hating Stefano.
Melanie: So I am accepting you as Lexie's brother and Stefano's son.
Stefano: Luncheon is served.
Lexie: Oh, everyone, please wait, I, um... [Sighs] I have something to say. Mom, would you mind taking Theo and making a plate for him?
Melanie: I got him. Hey, Theo, how 'bout you show me which fork we use for the salad?
Celeste: Thank you, Melanie.
Lexie: Thank you. Um... first, uh, I want to say that I am so touched, so...grateful, um, that you all have come together for me today. Um, I know our family history is more like the Borgias than the Waltons, and that makes me sad, but...I don't know, um, maybe fresh hope comes at the end of life, because I truly hope and pray that even though I know you'll never be close, that you'll at least try to get along. Okay? Not just for my sake, but for Theo's. For Theo. Well, he--he's gonna need his family soon, and you're all he's got, so I expect you to be your best for him, and you--you may not agree with each other, you may not even respect one another, but I need you to be the family that, that little boy deserves. Please.
Stefano: I certainly will do my part. [Sniffs]
Celeste: As will I.
Abe: And I.
Chad: I'm in.
EJ: Me, too.
Lexie: Thank you.
Stefano: [Crying] You have our word.
Will: Yeah, I think Melanie was right to support Chad today. It shows that she loves him and that she trusts him to be his own man.
Gabi: Well, aren't you just full of insight?
Will: Mm-hmm. [Chuckles] Oh, I got, uh, a couple more for you. Um, stop being jealous, uh, stop trying to break up Chad and Melanie, uh, and it's not gonna happen. Okay.
Gabi: Okay, Chad. See if this makes you care.
Chad: [Clears throat] Lexie, this gentleman said you'd sent for him.
Lexie: Yes, Mr. Chambers. Mr. Chambers is the best portrait photographer in Salem. [Laughing] And, uh, I asked him here today to take pictures of us to remember today, and, um, to remind each of you that you are a part of something more important than anything... family.
Celeste: Well said, darling.
Chambers: Let's do it over by the staircase.
Chambers: Beautiful. Here we go. One, two, three.
John: [Echoing voice] I'm just saying that we're out of options. We're just gonna have to take care of DiMera ourselves.
Marlena: [Gasps] Stefano will never come between us again. I promise you.
John: You're right, I can't do this to you. I can't do this to our family.
Marlena: You can't do this to yourself. Get rid of the gun.
John: Yeah, I will.
Marlena: I know how tough this is for you. Thank you. I love you for it.
John: Love you, too.
John: See you at home.
Marlena: It's okay, John. I'll make sure Stefano pays for his crimes.
